20 Best Mens Sunglasses For Small Faces (2023 Updated)

These are nice glasses. I have a pair of gascans as well but these don’t feel quite as sturdy as those. Just a different type of plastic I guess? They are lightweight and comfortable. Will also say I didn’t realize that Oakley doesn’t sell replacement lenses for these on their website.

I’d like some lenses that are a little darker. The plain polarized ones don’t seem as dark/polarized as others I’ve purchased. Still great glasses, just bummed no Oakley replacement lenses.

Purchased this pair because I needed a new pair of quality polarized lenses for driving and outdoors. The frame also looked sleek and light enough to not feel heavy on my small face. After the frames arrived, I went to open them out of the box and it felt like I was going to snap the arms off.

The ear pieces felt so thin and almost cheap. I wore them for another week and half, giving them a try. Although the violet polarized lenses were great, filtered out sun/glare and relaxed my eyes while driving, I just felt worried I would break the ear pieces while opening and closing, so I had to return them.

The design and fit are perfect for my small face and the Trillbe X split the perfect difference between classic wayfarer-style and more modern amenities like a slight curvature to block wind/light and straight grippy temples that wrap snugly.

The finish/quality is ok but at $100 plus I guess I expected them to feel more premium/heavy duty, especially at the hinges where my folding ray-bans seem of a more solid build. The lenses are both awesome and terrible.

I really rolled the dice on prizm sapphire polarized because there was nothing written about them, but they have a “glaring” flaw – at certain angles, they produce a blinding reflection on the inside of the lens when the sun is behind you, almost as if they were mirrored on the inside, which is a bad thing.

it kinda defeats the purpose of sunglasses if they magnify sunlight backwards into your eyes! Also, when using them under my motorcycle helmet, the bright blue reflection casts off the inside of the helmet shield producing a nauseating blue/red 3-D effect.

Aside from the back-glare issue though, using these outside of a motorcycle helmet is great – contrast is boosted significantly, glare is totally eliminated and colors saturation across the board, but especially green, is heightened.

I find myself relaxing my face and eyes while wearing them since I don’t have to squint, this is especially true when moving in and out of shady to sunny areas, like walking through the pedestrian tunnel or riding out of a dark garage into the exposed street, both in my daily walk/ride commute.

From dark to light and back, this lens transitions seamlessly and enhances vision throughout.

These are my second pair of Maui Jim’s, but my first Kawika’s. I absolutely loved these sunglasses and won’t go to any other brands. The optics are unparalleled and I was able to choose what lenses I wanted for my frames to get my perfect look.

The look and feel of these glasses coupled with the amazing customer service experience I’ve had with Maui Jim make them perfect. I’ve never had such a great customer experience as I’ve had with Maui Jim.

I had these sunglasses for just over a year before I just got pickpocketed a few days ago at a street festival. I hope to be able to get another pair at some point, but if you’re considering these, GET THEM!.

The ease of ordering and the rapid delivery and the clarity of the lens are five star. As to the glasses themselves, they did not live up to the other many pairs of Maui Jims that I have bought over many years.

The frame, although it seems sturdy enough, feels like very cheap drugstore sunglasses. The curvature of the frame doesn’t seem to match the diagram on the details page. Looking through the glasses, I wrongly assumed that the lenses would be that optimum grey shade that is so perfect to look through.

Instead, it has a green tint that seems to make me squint. The pair I ordered are the “Readers” which have a bifocal. I assumed that in 2021 the bifocal would be graduated. Wrong. The bifocal is of the type that was used back in the 1940’s.

It takes a lot of getting used to unlike my other graduated bifocal glasses. Finally, for nearly $400. 00, I think that Maui Jim could spring for the cloth bag which was usually enclosed with each pair that I had ordered in the past.

I found those bags very useful for protecting the lens when the case was too large to fit a pocket.

I love the classic look and styling of this frame so much that this is the 4th version of these I have acquired. Each one has a different lens and thus, a different purpose in life. To my eyes, the clarity of the Maui Jim lens is far superior to the “O” and “RB” brands.

I would recommend Maui Jim’s to anyone who values quality and style. I’m asian and usually have a difficult time with fit, but this frame is adaptable enough to create a great fit. To be honest, I’m not a fan of the triangular case that came with the glasses.

Certainly not as good as the hard shell case or the zippered case.

Great sunglasses, feel like a real Top Gun wearing them 😎. Great fit and high quality feel and aesthetic to them. The polarised lenses are brilliant and easy to clean with a little warm water and washing-up liquid if needed.

Also comes with the standard Ray-Ban leather case to store them in and micro-fibre cloth which is a nice bonus. Only quarrel I would give is that the end tips on the sides of the sunglasses are loose when not wearing the sunglasses and can make a sound every time you fold/unfold the sides, but you don’t notice this when actually wearing them and they don’t affect the comfort of the sunglasses in my opinion.

I’ll be keeping my eye on other Ray-Ban products in the future I think😁.

After eyeing these Aviators for years, I finally pulled the trigger and bought a pair after seeing Top Gun Maverick, and much like that highly anticipated movie, these glasses did NOT disappoint. I love the classic gold with the polarized lenses! They’re light, comfortable, and do their job at shielding my eyes from all the sun and glare.

Oh my word!! Amazing! I order these a few weeks ago and had some miscommunication with the order. I uploaded my prescription via the text message, received confirmation that my prescription was recieved then kept receiving emails about not having my prescription.

A little annoying and frustrating and the box arrived pretty banged up, but all is well! The sunglasses are in perfect condition despite what the box looks like. These arrived a little later than expected, but worth it! I love the fit and look! It was my birthday present to myself this year and really happy with how they came.

I’m a woman social tennis player. I have a very small face and have always found it hard to find sunglasses that fit my face correctly and allow me to see the tennis ball clearly. I ran across the Flak Youth fit glasses about 4 years ago and really loved everything about them.

My first pair have gotten scratched over the years. I have looked to replace them, but was never able to find the youth fit, so broke down and searched the web site. I’m enjoying my tennis game again.

I race sailboats and run powerboats and I have an annoyingly small head. Been buying youth sunglasses for years but always avoided the Flaks because I wasn’t sure I could pull them off. Wish I had come to my senses earlier because these are by far the best fitting, best wrapping, most secure sunglasses I have ever owned.

A lot of us small heads have to compromise on the other aspects of fit (hella sun coming through the top or sides) just to get a frame size small enough to stay on our heads. Or we have to wear a freaking croakie, but I am straight up done cutting mats out of my hair after a windy day on the water.

These are great. Up on your head or on your face they fit like they are supposed to, and the rubberized arms mean you can look over the side without one hand on your sunnies. My hat measure is 21. 25″ for reference.

The youth Frogskins fit me well (and are cute) but I wouldn’t feel comfortable with them croakieless at 45kts.

My son (8 years old) loves these for basketball and baseball. I bought them online and took them into my eye doc and insurance covered RX transition lenses! Some people have noted in the reviews you can’t put RX lenses in if Nike doesn’t do it.

Great looking sunglasses with nice wind protection on the road rides. My only issue with Oakley is the lens quality and their poor warranty. My Prism lenses (and my wife’s polarized) started to look “pitted” in less than two years.

Also after a little while longer they started to fail even more to a point where they’re totally useless. I contacted them when I’ve started to see this issue but won’t take care of it. I guess I’m used to a better customer service for sunglasses since they are many that offer lifetime warranty and they go above and beyond trying to make you happy just to use their product.

After I spent almost $500 for two pair of sunglasses from them, I was expecting to be treated better. Silly me… Needless to say that was the last time I bought anything from them. Won’t buy any Oakley product anytime soon or ever.

I got the Poseidon Gloss Splatter – Prizm Road Jade lenses. Interesting in appearance. The lenses do appear Jade (shiny green) with a mixture of blue and purple hues, depending on the angle. Certainly different.

These lenses offer good protection from bright sunlight, some wind. The Sutro Lite frame is very light weight, stable while cycling and have excellent coverage with any lens choice. I like that you don’t see frame at the bottom of the lenses which is great while navigating trails on a mountain bike.

I have used the Jawbreakers for a few years now and love them for mountain biking. I have the mountain bike and road bike lenses and typically use the mountain bike lens because they are so go in low light and still do well with the sun.

The glasses have great coverage and keep any dirt, mud, water out of the eyes. Lens are very clear and have great coverage, but they are Oakley lenses, which are some of the best in the market but scratch easily.

The glasses cover the full face and have a really good fit with adjustable arms. Lens swap system is easy and holds lens in securely. The frames are light weight and don’t have the feel of much dexterity, but I have battle tested these and have had no issues with broken parts.

They have great ventilation and don’t fog up at all when on the move. I would highly recommend for Mountain Biking as the best on the market. I have recently started using for splitboarding with mixed results.

When climbing, they fog up because you aren’t going fast enough for the air to flow and clear the fog. That is true with all sunglasses I have tried though, as when sweat gets on the lens in cold weather, fog in inevitable.

I still use these for skinning as the best option if have found. I have tried on the downhill a few times but when it’s cold, the airflow freezes the eyes a bit so they are a no-go. These aren’t intended for snow sports but just though I would share my experience.

Bought these six months ago and they have already broken twice. First break was admittedly my fault as they got squished between a seat and the temples broke. I ordered a replacement pair of temples that I paid ~$80 for and was able to fix them up just fine.

Continued wearing without issue until they fell out of the car and the rim frame where the lenses sit broke. Obviously I’d hope a pair of glasses could survive a fall, but I was willing to order yet another replacement part to hopefully fix these once and for all.

Tried navigating the same replacement order process to buy a pair of rim frames and finally reached a dead end as this is a part that you are unable to purchase from the repairs portal. I was offered an option to buy a discounted pair of glasses for $168, which when you factor in the $80 I spent on replacement temples, really doesn’t seem that attractive.

I spoke with Ray-Ban support on the phone to see if anything could be done outside of ordering a brand new pair, and alas nothing could be done. Needless to say, order these glasses with extreme caution as the frames are beyond flimsy.

This pair of glasses was my last pair of Ray-Bans that me or my family will be purchasing. Thanks for the memories Ray-Ban, it was fun while it lasted.

Amazing shades if you don’t mind the high price. I used co-op bucks to offset this and managed to only pay $60. By far the nicest shades I have ever had. Almost no weight but don’t feel fragile at all.

I use them primarily for driving, but have used them on my motorcycle (in my helmet), or hiking. Really nice.

Best glasses I ever had. Super light, comfortable and with beautiful lenses. Only drawback is that they are waaay too sensitive. One would expect that in the 21st century, with Gorillaglass and space technology, it would be possible to make scratchproof glasses.

You have to be really careful with them and only wipe them with the supplied microfibre cloth. Never use T-shirt or anything else. Shame, really, because I use absolutely anything to clean my other, cheaper sunglasses and they are just fine.

Of course, they don’t provide the same viewing quality as these premium glasses but still. Very satisfied with quality, look and feel but extremely disappointed with the purposely built-in sensitivity of the lenses.

I recently purchased a pair of Persol sunglasses from Frames Direct. I bought the 714 folding type Steve MCqueen wore along with many other celebrities. I can tell you that these sunglasses are by far among the highest quality glasses I have ever worn.

The hinges that allow the glasses to fold are machined to extremely high tolerances. Once you close just one of the several hinges you know that they are made to last. I own 2 pairs of Persol sunglasses, one with green lenses and one with gradient blue lenses both polarized.

The lenses are probably the best I have encountered. They are cool looking and everyone I know wants a pair but I will not tell them what brand they are. I am just making them envious for a little while, then I will spill the beans.

I purchased both pair from Framesdirect. com. They gave me the best price anywhere from brick and mortar stores to the internet. Their prices cant be beat by a long shot so dont waste your time looking for a better deal.

You wont find one. Be very cautious buying glasses on the net. There are a few companies on the internet promising cheaper prices. Dont do business with them as some are just scams. It happened to me before I found Framesdirect.

com. They are honest, friendly and forthcoming I would definitely do business with them again.

I’m so impressed with EZ Contacts! The service is always amazing and of course the Persols are awesome. It’s often difficult to find the 649 Polarized versions in the size 52mm. I find these tend to run a bit large so the 54mm and 56mm are way too large.

The blue gradiant polar lenses are great in any condition but especially beneficial on overcast days when you want to reduce glare. But they are also great on very sunny days as well but I prefer the brown polarized lenses on these days.

These are a relatively heavy pair because of the glass lenses and the substantial frame but they are still very comfortable and the weight is not an issue. This is my 4th pair of these 649’s. all from EZ Contacts.

These are great because you can cop a pretty classy retro vibe without looking like some ex-hippie (like those round sunglasses, a-la Joplin). What’s amazing is the distinct lack of reflections on the lens backs.

Ray-Ban’s anti-reflective coating really works here, because one would expect a lot of reflections but they’re practically non-existent The flat lenses also mean that on these hot Florida days, air freely circulates behind the lenses so sweat doesn’t build up around your eyes.

There are a lot of nice little details in the metal work, the hinges are firm, adjusting for fit and comfort is easy, and the clarity of Ray-Ban’s G-15 glass lenses is, as always, most excellent. Finally, even though the lenses are glass, the frames remain well balanced and surprisingly light.

Recommended 100%.

I have purchase these three times. The first pair lasted years until I forgot them in a jacket pocket and accidentally washed them in the washer. The second pair last about 2 years until I forgot them in a fitting room.

I have recently purchased my third pair and I will continue to purchase and replace them when they’re broke/lost because they are the best sunglasses ever! They’re light weight, extremely flattering on any face shape, and great quality for the price.

They don’t feel heavy and weighed down like many other more expensive designer glasses but are still substantial enough and not cheap feeling. Overall i highly recommend purchasing them!.

I love these sunglasses, and all my ray-bans! This is the third pair I’ve owned. I love the shape of these glasses and their flat lenses, very sleek and stylish. I originally ordered the medium size, but returned them for the smaller 48mm size which suits my face better.

Unfortunately, I’ve had these sunglasses for less than two years and the arm pad bracket has already broken off. These arm brackets should be sturdy enough to do their job – adjust the nose pad as needed.

Now they are unwearable.

I will start with that I am active duty Navy, and have trusted Oakly lenses for all 22 1/2 years of service to both protect my eyes from the sun as well as use them as my option for protective eyewear from physical damage as well.

Being around the water every day it was important to choose a pair of optics that are reliable and polarized for reduced glare. In 1999, I chose to wear the “Fives” style of Oakley which I contined to purchase and wear until a few years ago when the “Fives” were updated to become the “Fives Squared”.

Staying with “my brand” (Oakley) I too upgraded and purchased the Fives Squared. Recently I “misplaced” my glasses (first time in 22 years) and was forced to buy a new pair. I love my Fives Squared, but when I chose the lenses during my most recent purchase on their official website, it was a little misleading.

On the Oakley website I had the option to “filter by lens technology” which I chose the “HD Technology”. This changed the 3 displayed sub-photos to 1 displayed photo. I then chose the “Add To Cart” button and proceeded to check out.

I was delighted to find I had an excellent price for my new Oakleys with polarized lenses; However upon receipt of my new Fives Squared, I was greatly disappointed to find out that they were the “Standard” lenses.

I went back to their website to figure out why this occurred, and after several attempts I figured out that choosing the “HD Polarized” option in “Sort by Lens Technology” did not actually change from the “Standard” lens option to the “HD Polarized” option.

I actually had to click on the sub-photo for it to change (which the website does not prompt you to do to actually make the new lens selection). At this point, the price actually changed and the lens I actally wanted “HD Polarized” was selected.

I admit that I feel a little “duped” by this transaction, will still continue to wear and trust Oakley. However, this one stung a little as I know that my kids “bought” these for me and it is not in my heart to tell them they are the wrong setup, and more so not in my budget anymore to purchase the HD Polarized lenses for them.

All in all Oakley is a great brand that I have trusted for many years and will continue to, but feel slightly deflated on this experience. Do yourself a favor and buy and trust Oakley brand optics, but follow my instructions during your purchase or you may not receive exactly what you expected.

My above statements are the only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 out of 5.

The glasses are not tight to the head and slip off. I guess I will need to use some kind of Chums strap to make them a little tighter hitch is a major bummer. This is my third pair of Oakleys and I’m starting to question quality and construction.

My straight jackets kept breaking at the bridge, even though I took great care of them and followed all instructions. Those were discontinued so I couldn’t warranty them any longer and then the Frog Skins I had bought to replace, broke as a result of the frames cracking at the lens.

These fives squared glasses just feel like cheap glasses you would buy in a supermarket. Yikes. Optics appear to be good, but frames aren’t.

Oakley keeps hounding me to review the sunglasses I just bought from them. So here it is. I am not at all happy with the purchase. The glasses feel like cheap plastic and fit crooked. I have a pair of Oakleys I bought more than 20 years ago and aside from the rubber on the ear pieces they are still holding up.

These don’t feel like they’ll last 20 months. I aslo have a pair that were given to me as a gift that I suspects are fakes. They are nicer than the Fives Squared I just got direct from Oakley. Hopefully Oakley stop emailing me to write a review and spead the time working on improving quality.

There’s too much distortion, too.

Since I have a relatively narrow face, I need a narrower sunglasses and eyeglass frame. Otherwise glasses will stick out too far on both sides of my head. This Ray-Ban model is available in three lens widths: 52, 55 and 58 mm.

The 52 mm width is a great fit for me. I appreciate that FramesDirect stocks these multiple widths. The Ray-Ban official website doesnt even do that. The style is phenomenal! The style should look familiar to persons of most ages since its an iconic style that first became popular when they were created in the early 1950s.

I had a pair of the original Wayfarers in the 1980s but they looked too wide and clunky on me, and were heavy, so I didnt wear them very often. The New Wayfarer has corrected these issues. They are lightweight and quite comfortable.

I confess I have several pair now 🙂 Get yourself a pair, or two, and live La Dolce Vita! After making many, many sunglasse and eyeglass purchases from FramesDirect I can testify to their top notch customer service and very reasonable prices.

I loved the glasses. Unfortunately they were stolen a week ago. This was my second pair of New Wayfarers. I also have a pair of tortoise shell with brown lenses. As I have invested a considerable amout of money into Ray-bans.

I’ll have to hold off on replacing the stolen pair.

I really like these sunglasses – I tried on a pair in person and ordered the large black/clear version online. They look and feel great. Would’ve been five stars but there were some imperfections under the lenses where the clear backing overlaps the frame.

Could be actual debris in there but it’s probably minor scratching or chipping. Wouldn’t be visible with a solid color backing, and it’s not obvious when I’m wearing them, but I was still disappointed to see that on my first pair of Ray-Bans.

Beyond that, the arm length is just a tiny bit too small (not aligning perfectly with my ears), but they’re much better than the average sunglasses I can usually find in person – I wear a size 7 3/4 to size 8 hat for comparison.

I wish they offered customization with large sizes too, there were limited choices. Not perfect, but still great sunglasses. I’d definitely get another pair if there was a good deal or I could customize my own.

Lightweight and very comfortable. Been an Oakley customer for years. As a golf professional I’ve always had pairs for golf (that didn’t look good without a hat) and pairs for casual wear. The Thinlink is the first pair I’ve found that I can wear for both! I’m extremely happy with them.

Excellent quality, O matter still remains my favorite. I use these on the job site to help keep that horrible glare from impending my vision. 10/10 excellent customer service as well. With accurate tracking it made the waiting process painless as well.

Good lens for a boat. Non-polarized so no problem reading instruments. Frame seems cheap. No rubberized areas around bridge of nose and beyond ear to prevent them from slipping off. Need to wear strap.

Not up to Oakley standards.

I chose the MotoGP urban camo frame/24k iridium lens series and I am very pleased with the purchase. I’m a long time Oakley customer and always purchase limited edition or signature series items exclusively.

I figure if I’m going to spend the money on “high(er)-dollar” glasses, I want something a bit more special than the average product line. This helps me be more conscious to take care of them as well.

As I’ve stated in another review, many customers have a perception that, because of the price, Oakleys are supposed to be indestructible. Even though they are my preferred brand, I can admit that this is not the case.

As with ANY other pair of glasses, you need to be reasonably careful to get the longevity out of them. If you are the type of person that loses glasses all the time or puts them through very hard use, this model is probably not for you.

Oakley makes different series that are meant for extreme use (military/LEO, etc. ) which may suit your needs much better. However, with the more “casual/fashion” oriented glasses, you cannot expect them to be bomb-proof.

Remember, you are paying for high-quality lenses and exclusive styles, not unrealistic durability. That being said, I have NEVER cracked or otherwise broken Oakley frames. The lenses will become scratched over time, but this depends purely on how you take care of them.

The only other issue I’ve ever had were the rubber “ear socks” on a pair of Oakley Scalpels wearing away- After 5 years of continuous use!.

I bought the all black Holbrooks with black polarized prizm lenses about two months ago. I never write reviews but I have to for these. There’s only been a few sunny days where I’ve been able to wear the sunglasses and they’re amazing.

The colors come through vibrantly and lenses cut out glare. It’s almost like they’re telling your eyes to see better. I feel like normal sunglasses just make everything darker, these block out sun while still providing unmatched vibrance and visibility.

It’s a hefty price tag, but they’re great for driving, fishing, or everyday wear. If you have the money to invest in a quality pair of sunglasses, you won’t be disappointed.

The black iridium lenses are great for bright/sunny days and are my go-to’s for these conditions. I haven’t noticed any distortion, which isn’t always the case with sunglasses. The frames are a pretty classic and subdued design and the matte finish keeps things even more low-key.

I like it that way, but if you’re looking for something that stands out a bit more, these aren’t it. I have a medium to large head (about 59cm) and typically wear size large helmets (cycling, hockey, motorcycle).

These fit my head and face well. I haven’t tried on the XL’s but I don’t feel the need to.

Ordered one pair pair and the lenses were loose inside the frame. Ray ban refunded my money, let me keep the defected pair and gave me 30% off towards a new pair. Ordered another new wayfarer(the remix version this time)and the quality is not all there.

The lenses are not quite as loose like the previous pair but something is not right and it feels cheap. Not sure if there is something wrong with the new wayfarers. I’ve ordered the original wayfarer and they are perfect.

Disappointed.

I love Ray Ban, however, This time, there was horrible communication. I was asked 8 times for my prescription, and when I finally got my glasses, they were completely wrong. Then I was asked if I would like a replacement pair, or a refund.

I said replacement, then, was told they cant do that and would have to get a refund. The only reason I am giving 2 stars is because I am getting a refund, as long as it actually comes through correctly.

Bought these for my boyfriend as he wanted to try the larger size. They weren’t the best fit for him, but we love Ray Bans and the company makes it so easy to return! We then bought two colorways of the medium size and he loved them (classic black/green polarized, havana polarized).

It was an easy decision to choose “purchase” when these men’s Oakley sunglasses were advertised on Proozy for sale. We have had nothing but exemplary service from Proozy and have admired Oakleys from afar for many years.

These high quality sunglasses arrived in their own velvet bag inside of an Oakley box with no scratches or dirt on them. The visibility thru these glasses is as clear as a sunny day, without the harsh rays and troublesome shadows.

These were my first purchase of quality sunglasses after cataract surgery. Prior to this I had slip over ones that were just ok. I chose well. These look good, fit perfectly, offer great protection and are outstanding driving and on sunny days.

Bought these as polarized. The lens even says polarized. 1st morning driving my car and I see all the interior reflections in my windshield with glasses on. Which my SPY polarized glasses all reflections disappear.

In 2014, someone left their pair of Rayban New Wayfarers at the bar I was working at. After winning the fight with my boss over who got to keep them, I cherished these sunglasses for 8 years! They survived beach trips, bonnaroos, hikes, a cross country road trip, and multiple jobs.

On June 23, 2022, I accidentally ran over them with my car. The lenses shattered, but would you believe the frames stayed perfectly intact? I ordered this new pair later that day, exactly like the pair left at the bar 8 years ago! They served me so well and I know this pair will too.

I love these sunglasses! This is my 4th pair. I lost the first pair, then ran over another. My only issue was with the website not being perfectly clear what 52 versus 55 meant in the model number. One area calls them Small and Regular, but never do they refer to the 52 or 55 for sizing.

I had to contact customer service to understand this.

Beautiful, great quality lenses. May be a little large for me. It is labelled as men’s sunglasses, which may explain the difference. I am wearing them. Clarity is important for me with lifelong vision weakness.

These lenses are the best. The honey color is right on. I was used to a wrap around frame which was easy to flip up on top of my head. I will always trust the RayBan brand for quality lenses & frames.

This is a bit of a compromise product. I wanted polarized but it’s not available for metal (at time of purchase) and it’s not available for customization. The plastic frames felt more comfortable but I am relegated to metal because of the adjustable nosepads; the fixed nose on plastic Holbrook frames does not fit everyone.

Plastic is lighter whereas the metal, in conjunction with this style of nosepad, will leave a mark and have you feeling its presence after a while. Some suggestions for Oakley to cover more customers: – make the polarized lenses available in any frame – for the plastic frames, allow replaceable rubber nosepads *IN DIFFERENT SIZES* please! – the 4 corner dots should have the same color as the oval O logo So why did I compromise? I like the Prizm Ruby’s color rendition.

Greens pop instead of dim and hazes get clarified a lot for better depth perception. When driving, I switch to a pair of polarized shades for better glare reduction.

I bought these summer of 2017 (8 months ago) from a local retailer, and to summarize the reasons for a 1-star rating: 1. The edge of right lens nearest the hinge has started to crack/de-laminate. Replacement lenses are not availlable for purchase (through Oakley).

2. The right nose pad fell out, also not available for purchase (through Oakley). 3. Made in China. 4. Other than lens color, “PRIZM technology” isn’t noticeably different from standard polarized lenses.

Amplifying info: 1. In keeping with Oakley’s review guidelines, I can only state that given other reviewers experience with cracking lenses, going through the process of warranty repairs may only mean that you receive another pair of defective lenses at a (possibly) undisclosed cost.

Or, wait until a third party starts making lenses for (metal) Holbrooks. 2. Again, in keeping with Oakley’s review guidelines, I can only state that “frames are normally considered one complete part”.

Targeted internet searches were my only resolve in finding replacement parts without having to go through the warranty/repair claim process. 3. Enough said, considering the listed price. A recent visit to a local eyewear retailer (looking for item #2 above) revelead that every pair of Oakleys on display fell into the same category.

Note that the un-named retailer is an authorized Oakley dealer according to their website. 4. Cost-to-benefit ratio over normal polarized sunglasses doesn’t make it worth the purchase. Yes the “PRIZM” lenses look cool, but there are no discernible differences beyond that.

And yes, I own several pairs of Oakley polarized sunglasses. It’s unfortunate that this review is warranted given the apparent high quality of the frames themselves, which seem like they would last forever.

But, if you like being able to switch out lens styles, these are not for you. “PRIZM technology” is cost prohibitive and flat out unnecessary; regular polarized is just fine. At one point, Oakleys were made in the USA, but my desire to spend hard earned money on outsourced sunglasses is waning, despite brand loyalty.

Costa does not offer glass for prescription lenses. Very disappointed in that. I didn’t read the fine print when ordering, my mistake. Looking through the plastic lenses is horrible compared to the glass.

I paid around $600. 00 for plastic prescription lenses. Thank God I bought them on sale and didn’t pay full price. I would have come out better buying a pair from the dollar store at least I would have known I was getting a piece of crap.

I called Costa and was told they “might” come back out with prescription glass. That’s a shame since I’ve been a loyal customer for over 10 years. So if you are a baller and have tons of stimulus money to waste buy these pieces of crap.

I purchased these sunglasses before a vacation to the coast. I really like the look of them, and the lenses were great. The frames were so cheap and flimsy. I don’t understand why Costa would have the limited glasses with such cheap frames.

I had worn them 4 times when one of the arms broke loose at the hinge. I filed a warranty claim. Luxottica support responded with what almost felt like an ultimatum. They agreed this was a flaw and would replace the glasses.

They gave me 48 hours to make choice or get nothing. They offered me 5 replacement choices as the ones I purchased were out of stock. I just got the replacements today, and I see the ones I ordered show as in stock.

4 of the 5 replacements had the lower cost plastic lens – why would I choose a lower cost replacement? I chose the replacement with glass lenses which were blue mirror. I already own a pair of Costas with Blue lenses and really wanted silver mirror.

The older Costas I own were much better made. This long rant is only to say, I was disappointed with the frames for Ocearch Rinconcito, and VERY disappointed with the warranty process.

Best sunglasses I have purchased. The clarity of the glass polarized lenses are unmatched by any other sunglasses I have tried. Only reason I didn’t give 5 stars is the zipper on the case was defective.

It won’t close properly because the teeth on the zipper are not lined up. I tried calling customer service to replace it but they said I would have to return the glasses too. You would think after spending $250+ the case would be high quality.

Not impressed with Costas customer service either.

Another all around great pair of sunglasses from Oakley that I really want to love. They fit great under a baseball hat. Lenses are great. Leash is handy. I spend a lot of time on the water and have donated quite a few expensive pairs of glasses to the deep so I was specifically sold with the integrated leash on the Split Shot.

I like the integrated ear piece connection where the leash can be attached or removed. It looks clean. The leash itself is handy for keeping the glasses from disappearing. However, I’d have to say the whole thing seems a bit unrefined.

First off the bare metal cable seems aesthetically unfinished. I’d prefer some type of black coating over the wire to dial in the looks. I also wished there was some type of subtle adjuster on the leash.

The leash is great for when you want to remove the glasses and let them dangle but I also appreciate being able to use the leash to snug them up on your face to keep them from coming off should you go in the water with a splash.

The ear piece leash connection works great and can also accommodate any string to replace a lost leash with a simple loop tied into each end. There’s one annoying glitch to the system on the earpiece.

When the winds are strong the air funnels through the hollow ends and creates a howl in your ears. I love the Split Shots in theory but I don’t totally love them in practice. I do really like them as friends though.

I’m a fairly small person and I have found the size ‘small’ to be a perfect fit. I also like this style a lot, having been wearing the ‘blade’ style for years, thought well that’s kind of 80’s isn’t it? I also thought those I’ve been wearing are very dark, maybe something a little lighter.

and this fit the bill. plus the blue look is cool. now, I thought this would look blue with them on, I mean like what you’d see had a blue tint. no, doesn’t. just like a typical sunglass. I’m happy with the purchase.

I’ve been buying only oakley and direct from the website. I recommend that as I suspect knock offs are more common than one might realize.

Great Sunglasses! The hinges lock into place. Additional nose guards are included. The prism lenses provide an awesome enhanced and well defined view of the course, but in very bright sunlight I do not feel they filter out the sun but they offer other lenses for those conditions.

I have purchased name brand prescription sunglasses in the past and from my experience most brands provide the original lenses should you decide to want to use them in the future however Oakley does not.

Another con is you can vaguely see the Hinge end pieces in the upper corners of your eye but like floaters you get accustom to them.

I was a bit on the fence when I opened the box and tried them on, as the arms are very long and overlap a bit with the MIPS liner in my helmet, and are quite snug on the sides of my (rather large) head.

I gave them a go on a sunny afternoon the next day and am completely sold on them now. The cycling-specific lens is excellent; the contrasts are ideal for zipping through the city, and the rose tint provided a relaxed, comfortable view.

There’s a big field of view due to the lack of bottom and side frame, and they stay on your face incredibly well. I think I’ll get fully used to the snug way the arms grip the sides of my head, though I’ll note that anyone with a bigger head than mine (over 7.

5) might find them permanently uncomfortable….

These are my favorite sunglasses ever. I’m Asian and have a very hard time with any eyewear. I’m also an avid golfer and tennis player. The sunglasses offer the best protection and visibility for sports.

They’re the right shade without being too dark. I especially like the frameless bottom edge of the lens, which makes for a more comfortable fit on my cheeks. I love the sunglasses so much that I bought 4 pairs.

They’re the best sunglasses for non Asians too. My non Asian girlfriends tried them on and they fit perfectly on them as well.

Where do I begin? Here’s where, when the Sutro’s first released, I want to say 2018… could be wrong but whenever they first released was when I got them. I used them for cycling, volleyball and tennis and when I tell you I put them through the wringer, that’s the least of what I did.

And they held up well. All they were needing 3 years later was a lens replacement. But then, the Sutro Lites were made aware to me and yea. Went with these. What you get out of Oakley is tried and true lens technology, there’s nothing on the market right now that can measure up to Prizm.

Amazingly durable and stylish frames, that for the sports enthusiasts out there needing an all in one, this is it. I will continue with Oakley as my only sunglass choice for years to come. My original Sutros I still use so if that isn’t a testimony to how amazing these are, I don’t know what is.

Maybe I am not the best person to base your purchase on because I don’t like spending too much money on sunglass because I lose them or break them easily. So I usually find some cheap $5 Walmart glasses and just try to make it work.

However, I was hiking with some cheaper sunglass and I couldn’t handle being blinded by the earlier morning sun any longer. So I came home and purchased these. And I love them! I don’t know why I was so dumb and waited to purchase better sunglasses.

For the price these are amazing. They are stylish, the polarize lenses helps me not to be blind turning a corner on my outdoor adventure, they stay on my face, they feel very sturdy, and not they are not terrible price.

I love their fun branding and the cute bag they come in to to protect them and use to clean them. I highly recommend these if you are look for cheaper good quality glasses. I bought the Nine Dollar Pour Over.

They are a little dark, but they don’t bother me. You get use to it.

So initially I thought these were incredible. The polarization was smooth, and the glasses frames were really cute, and matched my style. They were also incredible lightweight and came with a precious bag to carry them in, which I had religiously sent them to live if they weren’t on my face.

About 3 or 4 weeks in, I had clipped them to the front of my shirt, and when I went to grab them, and the temple snapped. I thought it was just a bad luck, the angle must’ve been unfortunately just so; I went online to exchange for another pair, because I still loved them.

Then, about 2 weeks after receiving my *new* pair, I grabbed them out of my bag, and slipped them out of their tiny cute carrier bag, and the lens had popped out. They seemed to be less sturdy, and don’t travel well, so maybe they could be a pair for your car only, or don’t have to be more mobile? I still think they’re cute, and the function is incredible! I just wish they were a bit more solid, so I could bring them with me!.

The price is great, the lenses seem to be of good quality, but they break SO EASILY. I’ve been through a few pair and at $25 each, it seems reasonable to be able to replace them occasionally. but yesterday my pair of these fell off of my head and BOTH arms snapped off.

BOTH ARMS, at the same time. Can’t you guys do just a little bit more to create something a little bit more durable? A metal anchor in the frame for each arm to attach to? SOMETHING. I like the marketing and the look of these, but they are not durable.

I love that these stay on my face and the lens color, all positive stuff, except for the super flimsy tiny little plastic tabs that snap off and then leave your glasses without an arm or two. I “engineered” some of mine back to together, but it’s just not worth my time.

I’m going to have to find something else that won’t break so often. PLEASE let me know if you improve that element of the design. As far as I can tell, that’s the only flaw.
