20 Best At Home Hair Removal For Brazilian (2023 Updated)

I purchased at BestBuy in mid-August 2021 and began immediately using weekly as directed. Took me a couple times to figure out the best method, but once I did, I was able to breeze through the weekly treatments in about 10 minutes or less.

At 6 weeks, there was no hair growth at my armpits and I have not needed to shave them again to date. I also used on my toes, once I figured how to bunch my toes together to get the laser to fire (that was a challenge, but can be done) and it was effective in that area.

It was worth paying full price, but an even greater deal if you can purchase on sale!! If you purchase and don’t have great results, you can pass it along to a family member or friend to try.

I’m sure the results vary based on each individual, but for me, absolutely worth it!!! My final deciding factor was that this does not ever need replacement lights or bulbs, as some units do. It continues to work at the same strength for the life of the product.

Since I have only had for a couple months, I cannot say how long it will last, But I have definitely gotten my money’s worth at this point. Once I am done, I will be passing along to my nieces.

I think this is the best all around kit you can get as far as waxing machines you can use at home. It can be used with soft and hard wax. You just have to make sure you buy the correct size container.

Side note, the extra products they come with are a bit sketchy. They don’t have proper seals that insure they haven’t been tainted or used before. So I just threw them out to be safe. Regardless, at this price point I think it’s well worth the money and GiGi products have always come thru for me.

It takes a bit of practice and if you’ve owned one before you know to use the collars or wrap things with tin foil. it can get messy! I designated junk towels just to catch the mess. Overall we’re talking $50 bucks and that’s less than one session at the salon.

heats up very slowly and the wax didnt grab my hair at all except in places it was coarse and very very grown out. this wax also left sticky residue everywhere it touched, and the post wax gel thats supposed to feel cooling just smells bad and is very greasy on my skin.

no cooling at all. the sticks they include are also very flimsy. ill be using wax strips from now on because they work better and are faster.

I have been doing treatments around 4 weeks. Treatments are relatively painless. Every once in a while you might get a zap that stings. Usually this happens because a spot was missed when shaving. It did take a bit to work up to the recommended level in certain areas like my underarms.

I was able to use a level 7 on my legs right away without any pain. My one complaint is the window on the unit can get really hot. I typically have to stop halfway on each leg and let the unit cool. This doesn’t take too long, so not a deal breaker.

The picture attached is my leg with a weeks worth of hair growth. (Might have missed treatments this week. Oops!) I have random patches with hair and some spots completely hair free. My legs are slightly prickly, but I don’t necessarily need to shave yet.

It was as if the low settings would not work on my skin/hair type and I did not see any changes. The instructions do recommend that you start with a lower setting (I guess this has to be advised), but I was using the low setting for far too long and I was getting frustrated! But nothing necessarily against the product.

I’m still in the process of using it. Before Lumi: I’m an everyday shave girl because my leg and underarm hair are like small black spikes, unforgiving, and will have a 5 o’clock shadow an hour after shaving.

I have always wanted to try an IPL and after researching lots of different brands, I went for the Lumi IPL I was a little bit sceptical that it might not work. Wow I was surprised! The first 2 weeks I didn’t see much improvement, but I persisted, continuing this on my legs, armpits and biking area.

Week 4 I saw a difference. I can only IPL on one leg as I have a whole leg tattoo on the other so this was a great way to see the difference between the two. Although I didn’t see much improvement on the armpits and bikini area.

Week 8. Wow! My leg have hardly any hair growth, there are a few patches but I’m super pleased with this. Still continuing with using this twice a week on the armpits and bikini area – slight improvement.

I did notice that these areas are taking longer to grow back and with less hairs. Week 12 – my leg is completely hair free. apart from the odd hair here and there! But I’m really really pleased with the results.

Armpit and bikini area have still got a few weeks to go but eventhen I’m really pleased with the results so far, I think another 4 weeks of using twice a week should get rid of the stubborn hairs in these area! All in all, I highly recommend the Lumi IPL.

You really do need to be patience and persistent with this. Taking photos is a good way to keep track of the results, especially in the early days of using it. I’m so glad I bought this. Can’t wait to show off my hair free body on my holidays!!.

I used to give myself Brazilian waxes with this exact microwavable wax back when I was in high school. My friends screamed when they tried to use this product on themselves. It isn’t for everyone but it worked out for me.

It shockingly removed the hair very well. Some areas require the wax to be more viscous than others. For Brazilians I liked to warm this up just enough so it was a little runny but not too liquify.

While this appeared to work well, it was really difficult for a person new to waxing to follow. Instructions were pretty easy to understand, but it was very labor intensive because I didn’t know what I was doing.

If you’re familiar with the process I would think this kit is great. For beginners like me, I suggest you suck it up and go get a wax. I ended up burning myself a bit. Again, more of user error than the product itself.

For the price and quality this is 5 stars. If you ever waxed your own vagina you know this is not for the weak. It’s painful as you know what but I’d rather wax myself than pay $70 a wax. I learned that if you use the oil that comes with properly it keeps the wax from sticking to your skin.

I have fair -olive skin with dark hair and have been using this for a few years all over my body. It definitely works, even on underarms which is supposed to be difficult but in my experience that meant that it takes a little bit longer to see results compared to other areas.

I experienced the zapping sensation at first but the skin soon becomes accustomed to it so that you stop feeling it after a few sessions in the previously treated areas. My skin feels smoother for longer and I have noticed that a lot of hair has not grown back.

Removed a star because 10 minutes for a whole body treatment, or even legs, is not feasible unless you are a stickman. Moreover, the pulses start to slow down after a few minutes of use which increases treatment time.

It is also tricky to use on certain angular, narrow areas such as the chin, knees, around eyebrows etc as the light will not activate owing to insufficient flesh coverage. As a result I purchased the Tria Precision recently which is far easier to use in these areas – and has the added bonus of being cordless! But Tria only lasts less than 15 min on the highest setting, but still worth it in addition to this device.

I saw that Smoothskin released a new version of this device with a narrow head attachment. It would have been considerate of them to sell this head alone for existing customers; I already own 3 of these devices as purchased previous models too.

It was also easy to use though I had to wait a week before I could try it as I’d used hair removal cream on the areas I wanted to treat & should have shaved them – I’ve never shaved anything! I decided to go with this product as it was a lesser cost and has the “highly raved about” sensoadapt technology, although it’s larger/bulkier. INITIAL REACTION: Painful, takes SO long, you need safety glasses.

-Pain: I just used this for the first time so will amend my review after I’ve completed 4 weeks or at least the first 100 days (money back guarantee) to see if it actually works. I read numerous reviews and everywhere comments “pain-LESS”.

This couldn’t be farther from the truth. Though WAY less painful than the first time I epilated (be doing my lower legs for 3 yrs) and less painful than the first time waxing, since I’ve been waxing my bikini area for 4yr or so and I honestly say that’s less painful than this first go around.

It feels like exactly what it’s doing – like you are electrocuting and frying a hair follicle. And it was NOT adapting to my skin as I was getting to more sensitive areas I had to use the manual adjustment.

It also advertises 10 strengths but it’s really only 3. I was about to invest $500+ to get my legs lasered at a laser clinic, however I decided to do some research and invest in my own home system. I’ve been getting a wax for the last two years and the money quickly added up. In an attempt to save some money I opted for at-home waxing and a relative recommended GiGi waxing and I absolutely loved it! Of course it was a little messy and took me a little longer to do since it was my first time handling wax and doing my own but the results were amazing.

I definitely recommend this for first time at-home waxers. Once I get more comfortable with working with the wax I absolutely plan on upgrading to the wax beads and warmer. An incredible investment!.

Okay, so I was skeptical. I have very thick body hair and get terrible razor burn and have to shave every day to keep my legs smooth. I also have not had success with wax in the past. I stopped waxing because it was super painful, would leave terrible bruising on my pale skin, and wouldn’t even remove the hair from the root.

The hairs would mostly just break off, even when used correctly. Not so with sugaring! From my very first application, even while figuring out the flicking motion, it was easy, much less painful, left no bruising, and actually removed my hair! I can’t stop telling my friends about this guys.

I love this. After sugaring my legs once, I didn’t have to pull out the sugaring pot again for two weeks – on the first try! Super excited I tried this out and will definitely be incorporating this into my routine from here on out.

The best part is that it’s water soluble if I make a mess (which I’m prone to do). One note: I have had some trouble figuring out the flicking motion when sugaring my armpits. I don’t know why I’m struggling with this specific area, but I would love to see a tutorial on this, because I just have not had success! In the past, I have sometimes gotten waxes done. I usually epilate my legs and underarms, so my tolerance for pain is decent, but waxing was still a bit painful. I have tried a few self-waxing kits, but I hated how hard to use they were.

I took the plunge on the lumea a month ago and so far I’ve been pleased. I have suffered with unwanted dark hair on my face that I have been waxing and tweezing for as long as I can remember, the unwanted hair has got progressively worse; really ramping up since I have hit 30.

I had a round of electrolysis however found waiting for the regrowth period unbearable. I had been using jolen to try and bleach my upper lip and chin hairs between treatments but the hairs were so thick and dark it took a long time and multiple attempts for the bleach take and the thick coarse hairs stood out a mile.

Bought it as Philips offered a 100 day money back guarantee, so I could try it with no risk. I couldn’t find many reviews that discussed whether the product worked with different hair colour, so this is my review.

Legs and toes: I have shaved my legs for 40+ years, with dark thicker hair that was stubbly again within a day of shaving. After 1 treatment I could see hair was growing back sparsely and not as thick.

After 2 treatments my legs and toes were hair free. No stubble, amazing! Underarms: sparse light brown medium coarse hair which disappeared after 1 treatment Bikini line: 1 treatment saw a huge improvement and problem areas resolved after 2 treatments Face: Having suffered with PCOS I have noticeable facial hair, which is a mix of colours; dark (wiry), blonde (fine), white (wiry).

After 2 treatments my upper lip had very little re-growth. I had no white hairs there and it seems to have worked on the finer blond hairs and almost every dark hair after 5 treatments. The blonde hairs on my face have gone, but the very wiry dark and white hairs are still present.

I will persevere as I think the number of dark hairs is slowly reducing and possibly getting less wiry, but there is no effect whatsoever on white hairs (which I was expecting as per Philip’s guidance).

After one treatment a number of dark ingrown hairs on my chin started to grow normally which was a bonus. I also have very fine peach fuzz (blonde/almost white) which seems to be improved, but the jury is out on this as I have never treated it before, so it might just be a slow grower.

Conclusion – an amazing device, worth the money and I feel more feminine without hairy legs, toes and stubble. Easy to use but you do have to set time aside (takes me about 70 minutes to do half leg, underarm, bikini and face).

You also need to stick to a schedule, if you miss a treatment the instructions say you must start again.

I never write reviews but felt I needed to for this as I trawled through reviews for weeks trying to decide if I should go for it or not. I was sceptical at the start and didn’t think it would work but took the plunge anyway as I was so sick of shaving every day resulting in shaving rash, ingrown hairs and itchiness, especially on my bikini area.

I have quite pale skin and very light brown hair on my legs and underarms and dark hair on my bikini area. After the first session I didn’t notice any difference (you’re not supposed to) so I was worried I’d wasted my money.

However, after the second session I started seeing amazing results under my arms, I havent had to shave under my arms since the first session!! My bikini line was patchy but I could see the hairs were starting to fall out (I did a Hollywood as i wanted it all gone).

The hairs on my legs were definitely growing slower and finer. I have just finished my 4th session and I genuinely don’t need to shave anywhere at all!! There are maybe one or two hairs on my bikini area but that’s because I’ve missed them when using the lumea so i just need to go back over them.

I’m absolutely shocked, I really didn’t think it would work, never mind to the point I feel like I could throw my razor away and never use one again. It takes a while to do everywhere but it’s so worth the effort.

I used it on setting 4 as that was what the skin sensor suggested for my skin. It was mostly painless, however there were a few times when it felt like i was being twanged with an elastic band. But it wasn’t bad enough to say it was painful.

The lumea can get quite hot though so half way through I’d switch it off for a while to let it cool down as it was more comfortable to use. I’ve recommended this to all of my friends and family and I’m so happy I never have to shave or wax again and just have to top up with the lumea once a month.

My other half has just started using it on a patch of hair on his stomach he wants rid of after seeing how well it’s worked for me. Absolute game changer.

Did my investigations/comparisons and decided to bite the bullet and purchase, luckily had vouchers for Chrimbo that covered a lot of the cost but definitely worth it. Apart from the testimonies, etc, another reason for purchasing was that there was a decent returns window if I found that this was not suitable for me.

I had another brands device that was painful to use on the more sensitive parts and the treatment window was small thus was a chore to use, but this one was a absolute dream. Treatment time is so quick and easy, and a quick wipe keeps the Prestige looking like new.

The first time I used the device I was surprised at how quickly I managed to do face, underarms, bikini and legs and no sensitivity afterwards either. Hair free on legs and lady ‘tasche already and almost there for underarms.

Bikini line being stubborn but definitely much less hair regrowth. Almost a razor free body – hurrah. App useful for keeping track of settings used and reading/watching others experience along with their tips.

I have fairly dark skin (verging on the darkest that this can manage) and I would highly recommend this to others.

So I thought I would review after a while of use. I bought mine in July 2020 and so have hit about 18 months since purchasing. I have dark hair and fair skin which is the ideal recommendation. The Phillips lumea although has definitely reduced my hair growth it no means has stopped it.

I followed the programme to a T doing it every 2 weeks for many months (which is more than the required) on the majority of my body. I have found my hair growth under my arms are significantly less however I still get growth there regularly and 18 months later am still doing it every 2 weeks not every few months as advertised.

I shave prior to use which is recommended and just don’t feel this gives you a hair free experience in the time recommended. My legs have also had a reduction in hair growth however again they are not hair free and the “touch ups” that they say may be needed every few months, I feel really are biweekly.

It is not quick to do either. It takes about 20-30 mins to do each leg and so to do your whole body it’s a full couple of hours so don’t think it’s quick like I thought when buying! Having said that, I do feel that the lumea has helped my hair reduction at much cheaper than salon experience.
