The material is superb, gives you confidence it will last for years. I use it in HVAC, the design is well enough thought out. Main pockets a little deep perhaps, not exactly a con but if you have small tools it might be annoying.

My main tools are tin snips. I decided to modify mine in the following way: – Sewed the extra strap length: really cleans up the look of the vest -Sewed the chest pockets in such a way that they rest in a slight diagonal position: this clears up the line of sight to your main pockets.

You can achieve the same result with heavy duty velcro -Sewed a white tag on the nape/neck near the hanging loop: Makes its super easy to see where you have to grab it from so the tools don’t fall out There aren’t much options as far as hammer loops go.

The built in ones are in okay positions, but they cannot be moved/removed. The design of the straps don’t allow for belt mounted accessories to be mounted on, since you have no way of opening up the rear strap to slide an accessory in.

If you are creative and can work with a sewing needle, the main front pockets have a stitched-on strap that you can use to hang a few accessories, i. e a screw pouch.

This vest is great, but not perfect. I am a Union Journeyman Wireman for the local 43. I purchased this vest because I can’t stand when my tool pulls on my pants essentially forcing me to constantly tight my belt.

I get, I’m ecstatic!! So you adjust to fit your body, you will sweat in this be warned if this is something you can’t handle. Start putting my tools in and notice immediately that the 2 higher pockets, essentially block your view of your tools, which until you get them where your used to, is annoying because you have push the pockets in to see the lower pouches.

Also, if you put ANYTHING in them (i. e. Wire nuts, screws, flashlight, panel keys, etc) and bend over, 90% chance everything will dump. I am going to sew (yes sew, thank you USMC) some Velcro in side each of them to alleviate boyh issues, something I feel the should have done.

The lower pockets are deep, but this vest stated it would be great for Electricians, but the pockets are not divided. So my screwdrivers always end up laying on top of each with the one I need conveniently located at the bottom.

I was thinking, like how a camera bag had Velcro dividers. I may try something like that. Also, one thing to keep in mind is, your brain sees empty pockets and wants to put things in there so be mindful of the tools you are using, it gets heavy quick.

So as I have been using it more, my tools used most find their spots and seeing them becomes less important, but those pockets in front. $160. 00 should at least get me a button, something. lol The hammer loop on the back, I use all Milwaukee Battery drills that have a little belt clip on them.

I used Limemans pliers oper and put a slight inward bend, essentially rounding out the outside piece of the clip to wrap around the hammer loop bar. At first the clip didn’t sit all the way down due to thickness, that actually works good.

Clip your weapon back there for easy access. I don’t snap the bottom as it the pockets to tight to your side and you bend sometimes the tools dump. And getting it to fit just right is a pain. You will do this at home, get to work, load it up, and find out you want to adjust again.

Do yourself a favor and remove all the tools from the pouch, this will save slot of frustration. All in all, I’d buy it again, but if their reading this, hint hint wink wink on my changes. You can reimburse me by sending the prototype.

I have been a carpenter all my working life and have always used a traditional belt and tool/nail pouch system which has been fine mostly up until fairly recently. Major draw back for me is the weight on my hip is now getting painful , so I thought braces would help( well i know they would really ) but another problem is access through ladder hatches are getting smaller so my pouches ( saddle bags i call em ) keep getting caught up , well actually they get caught up in all sorts.

After researching for hours of looking at different products i came across the 2575 oxy pro work vest by occidental leather. It’s got loads of reinforced pockets two of which are similar pouch sized to what I normally wear ( at last i thought ) and a velcrowed top pocket for my large iPhone.

I can get everything in this i need for the day and I don’t get caught up on anything anymore because the vest and pockets hang close to me. comfortable shoulder straps take all the weight.

Great addition to the snickers trousers however too many pockets keep losing my keys… lol great thou

I have been putting off buying a surveyors vest for some time now. This vest has pockets every where so you should be able to carry everything that you need. Plus the shipping was fast.

This rugged vest stands up to the abuse my husband puts it through every day at work. The vest has Velcro pockets that hold all of the essentials, and the zipper is sturdy too. It’s the only vest my husband will wear to work.

Good vest with a double stripe on the back. A little high on the front belt compared to others of the same size. A quality safety vest. No problems with zipper pockets or wear first day. Several comments on ‘professional’ look.

This vest definitely delivers in its goal. It helps keep you cool on the hottest days while keeping you safe by being high vis. The vest did originally have a slight odor out of the package. The vest also runs very big.

I typically wear a S – M in shirt size. The medium was very big on me. I would have had to go 1 or 2 sizes down (depending on how you like your fit). It fit my coworker better (who usually wears an XL).

My husband and I live in a residential area with narrow streets, lots of hairpin turns with poor visibility, and no sidewalks. Wearing a safety vest like this is an excellent precaution when walking along the street.

This particular vest is comfortable, lightweight, easy to put on and zip up, and the bright orange we chose is highly visible from several blocks away. The price is also extremely affordable. All in all, we are very pleased with this purchase and will happily recommend it to our friends and neighbors.

This is my third set of occidental tool bags. I love their tool belts and bag set ups. I’m a taller dude, so my only complaint is that the bag height is not really adjustable from the vest. I am used to the stronghold fat lip bags with the leather suspenders, that give you the option of hanging your bags at a preferable height.

The framers vest stage the hanging bags pretty high. Makes me feel like I have alligator arms when I’m grabbing stuff out of the bags. I hope they make an extension kit for the 2585 vest kit. Other then my rant of not being in total comfort, the vest is super comfortable, bags are perfect for my everyday duties, quality is up to par with all the other occidental bags I have tried to run ragged.

My last set of bags lasted me 8 years and the reason for purchasing the 2585 framers vest is a big framing job that called for not having a belted system because my hips have been taking a beating. The belt less vest system is pretty outta control.

Do you ever wonder who comes up with these new construction tools. I wonder if Stanley has ever considered seeking the advice of us Pros with decades of experience and ask us what we might suggest. This is nothing more than a modified work vest used by surveyors.

To the new products development team (NPDT) at Stanley. Where do you put framing nails a speed square or other larger materials and tools for ease of accessibility? The pockets are too high and may not strong enough for hand fulls of nails or other items.

What about an area for a water bottle or set of laminated plans, possibly in the back? Are you suggesting that one is suppose to wear nail bags with suspenders as well as this vest? How about designing this vest for the integration of a belt and a set of nail bags using a shoulder padded vest to take the weight off your hips and back in lieu of a pair of suspenders? This (framing option) could be one of many interchangeable ie: finish, roofing, siding, electrical and so on.

With all that being said, I’m of the mindset that your NPDT need to involve many “hands-on trade professionals” vs/ a dream team of individuals or schooled engineers to come up with new and innovative ideas.

Having experienced 40+ years in the construction industry as well as making use of most of your new products when they roll out, I can assure you, as you probably know, many have missed the mark, this may very well be another.

First things first, I like the vest. The pocket material and overall construction is good. The pockets are relatively roomie and and there are plenty of them for most tools; ideal for electrical work.

My two main issues are the rigidness of the vest and the zipper. It is a little cumbersome with the overall design not respecting the tradesmans need for a vest that allows for full motion mobility. Additionally, the zipper is extremely cheap and will definitely not last heavy use.

Velcro would have been a better option in comparison or at the very least, a good quility brass zipper. All in all, a good vest with room for improvement.

I bought this for my husband who does general contracting work so on any given day he could be doing electrical work, Framing, Flooring and anything else that comes up. His tool belt becomes to weighted and heavy and eventually unbearable by the end of a long day.

He loves it! We did buy some Velcro strips to go over some of the pockets to prevent tools from falling out when he leans over. It’s Lightweight, adjustable and isn’t heavy or hot to wear. The only thing that would improve it is if we could order pouches that could clip to the front bottom.

Are there any plans to make and sell optional pockets or pouches in the future?.

I live in the snow belt around Lake Erie. Snow country, that is. Often times I need to clear my driveway (snow blowing it) in the dark or dusk light conditions. I wear my Hi-Visibility vest over my coat and it make me SEEN by any passing motorists! When I’m snow blowing with my back to traffic, I cannot hear any vehicles approaching because of the noise of the snow blower.

The vest has saved me from suddenly turning into oncoming traffic because they slowed down when they saw me. In fact, I had a neighbor stop and ask me if the vest was illuminated by something because he said it was so bright!! I told him “No, just a good Hi-Visibility vest!”.

I needed a vest that would fit over my winter parka. This vest fit the bill. I like that it is a bit longer and it has very strong velcro closure( no zippers to get stuck or broken) The only reason I didnt give it five stars is because I wish it had an inside pocket to hold a cell phone.

I bought 4 of these vests to use for myself and guests who we invite to go on NARCOA rail car excursions. We are all large individuals and I wanted everyone to be comfortable. The 3x/4x was the perfect size and the ability to adjust the size with snaps gave everyone the opportunity to discretely fit the vest to their body.

I am considering buying 4 or 6 more of these for the future.

The vest was a good size – fits over other clothes easily but still hangs on even if not going on top of other items. Very comfortable & HIGHLY visible! I’m a late evening / night time walker. I’ve had drivers stop and tell me that they saw me from a good distance.

I use this for morning walks and it is great. More people/pedestrians/bikers should wear one. They really “light” up when headlights shine on the reflective strips. I see youths walking to the school bus stops, and think how much they need to wear one.

Excellent quality and durable. I purchased this one for trimming my trees so I won’t get dirty. Also this one is good for jogging or walking at night as its reflect light.

I purchased this vest, did not like. Chest pockets are to low for short people. Puts pencils in your stomach and waist area. XL was to tight around waist, with zipper closed had to open second zipper I am 5′ 6″ tall and wear L-xl shirts.

I returned this vest because material was to heavy and thick. Reordered blaklader RIPSTOP version which is lighter material plus has mesh on the back. Was told by blaklader employee this version is the older model.

I got this for a holiday gift for my husband to replace the old beat up ones he has had for years. Should do the trick. Looks like it will fit appropriately.

An excellent vest for woodworking! Lots of easy-access pockets and extremely durable. The two zipper front adjustable system really helps with extra layers in the colder weather.

These are good lightweight vests. In the deep south one does not want another layer of clothing on. The all mesh construction makes these vests more comfortable to wear. Most all government construction sites demand vests be worn at all times.

these vests transform a “necessary evil” into an advantage as they are cool, they come in larger sizes for larger people, and they have several pockets to hold other safety gear and small tools, markers and note pads.

All of these features for 20% less than the big box “one size fits all” variety. I will be recommending these for purchase by our whole company.

Work Facility changed from safety green to safety orange. This item arrived in a timely manner and the employees love the feel and convenience of the multitude of pockets.

High quality at a reasonable price. Longer body length goes below waist. Added visibility/reflective striping adds to visibility. Great deal!

Jacket looks well made, and fits good. It also heats to a nice nice temperature. My only problem with this heated vest is how bad the battery life is. When it is on high, I didn’t even get 2 hours, and that is on a brand new battery at full charge.

The company doesn’t offer any stronger batteries then the one it comes with and replacements are 50 dollars. With better battery life this vest could be perfect. Instead now im just kicking myself for not buying the miwalkee heated gear and having hours and hours more of high level heat.

The vest is well made and of high quality. I received it when we were experiencing an unusual cold snap. It works great. It heats up quickly and feels fantastic. I recommend this product.

The vests I ordered are of very good quality. I may have exaggerated in the size and therefore, thanks to a seamstress, there will be some modifications in the cut. That said, I can’t wait to use them!.

I bought an xl vest, and used the size chart under the item on the website. my waist is is 42 inches with pants and a belt, when my vest arrived and I tried in on, I was swimming in it. so I took it off an took my tape measure to the bottom of my XL vest and the total inches was 56.

that left me with an extra 14 inches of vest which looked stupid. The vest is a great vest, so I ordered a medium the same day my XL arrived. I’ll call tomm and see about returning the XL, and I’ll put up another review when the medium comes in.

Working nights visibility is paramount in any condition or environment. Identifying who is who by color also important in the event of an issue or emergency. As a night supervisor need to be seen and or located instantly.

I instantly fell in love with this vest. It is functional without too many bells and whistles. It’s warm without being a down vest. As with most duck/canvas clothing, they then to run a little small.

Plus with a vest you are going to be layering outside a shirt or hoodie. So definitely size up one size from your normal tee shirt size.

Feels better quality than previous non Portwest jackets I have bought. Very happy with my purchase. Also the large size fits comfortably, and doesn’t restrict my movements, as I was afraid it might.

High quality, durable, priced right. I ride a motorcycle and this is a great vest and I prefr to leather or denim. It has pockets and a couple of loop attachments. It fits to the body, the arm holes are normal not oversized.

It deflects wind and rain and has large reflector bands. I definitely recommend.

These are a great idea but as I am someone who has been wearing Milwaukee jackets since they first came out I am very disappointed I a couple of things. They are very pricey, they are made particularly snug and small especially at the shoulder arm area.

Not nearly enough room for wearing under sweaters or sweat shirts etc. and lastly the battery pack. Was never thrilled with location on any model heated jacket but this one is still in a horrible spot.

No good to sit in if chair has any kind of back rest. If not placed just perfectly the big bulky battery pushes on your left kidney. As the years go by like everything the quality is decreasing while price goes up.

My entire family m’en and women went up a full size bigger than jacket sizes we would have previously worn. These are a slimmer cut and as mentioned the arm holes are terribly small. You’ll be good over a T-shirt but that’s about it.

Appreciate the effort designing these but your not quite there yet.

The battery and heat work well and last a long time. My issues are with the batter placement and the fit and flexibility of the vest. I wear it to work outdoors in -25 in the Yukon, so I wear it under a bunch of other layers.

The fabric is too thick and stiff, I think they meant it to be worn as an out layer, and the collar is the same so it’s stiff and uncomfortable when I have jackets overtop. I really wish Milwaukee would make a mid-layer version that’s not so thick and maybe has some 4-way stretch.

My other issue with the fit would be solved with stretchy material. It needs to be close to your body in order to feel the heat, but standard sizing and non-flexible fabric make sure that there are gaps between your body and the vest.

Make it thinner and stretchy! I also a woman wearing the men’s vest because the placement of the battery on the women’s vest is unbearable, the men’s one isn’t great either. I’d prefer if it was in the front pocket where there is usually extra space and a natural bending point for your body.

I’m looking at the Feildsheer vests to replace my Milwaukee one for these reasons.

Of all the places to put a bulky battery, Milwaukee chose to place it on the back under the left shoulder blade. So anytime you get in the car, you have to take it off. If you’re doing anything that involves bending forward or extending your arms, it rides up and jabs you in the back.

Why they chose that location I’ll never know… should have been placed low and at one of the side seams near hand pocket. But because it’s on the back, it’s extremely uncomfortable.
