Running style, and preferences. However, some experts recommend a shoe with good heel support and cushioning to help absorb shock and reduce stress on the achilles tendon. It is also important to choose a shoe that fits well and provides adequate support throughout the foot.

The FitVille Stride Core running shoes are especially designed for people who have wide flat feet. The wide toe box design keeps your feet free and comfortable. With light breathable 3 layer mesh cloth upper and shock-absorbing pad for maximum comfort, FitVille’s Stride Core is the best trainer for walking, the running, or any other fitness activity.
These were my second pair of fit I’ll shoes, first of this model. These are very comfortable and I have no complaints about these shoes as far as the model. I think the rebound cores are a little better feeling than the stride cores.
But, these aren’t bad. Overall, fit villa has fixed my foot pain from a bunion from too many years in narrow heels. My feet aren’t hurting at night anymore and I have noticed my arch is coming back. My only “concern” with this brand of shoes is the sizing is unreliable.
My stride cores are so big my feet slide. My rebound cores fit perfect. The cloud weaves are tight. I advise trying them on and exchanging them till they fit you right.
The “x-wide” Stride Core worked quite well for my particular foot problems. I tried the “wide” fit first, and it was a bit too tight. However, the “x-wide” provided a little more width and height in the toe box.
The shoes are very comfortable, and I’ve been able to wear them most of the day. I was concerned that the heel might be too loose on the “x-wide,” but so far so good. Proper socks are important. I wear Maggie’s Organics merino wool socks which tend to stay up on the ankle even with the wider fit.
The GEL-CUMULUS 23 MK shoe helps you focus on the distance ahead as you move towards your personal best. It’s a high-mileage trainer that’s designed to make your stride smoother and your mood brighter.
This version is also formed with a MONO-SOCK upper that gently hugs your foot in key support zones. Creating a softer feel underfoot, this shoe features an updated GEL technology unit in the heel that allows you to experience cloud-like comfort.
Meanwhile, the FLYTEFOAM cushioning keeps the shoe lightweight and propels your stride forward with a smooth transition.
The jury is still out on these new shoes. I had a horrible experience with the standard GEL-CUMULUS 23 shoe I had prior to these. They literally started pulling apart for no apparent reason. They were by far the worst performing athletic shoes I’ve ever owned from the standpoint of low quality materials and build.
The jury is still out on the MK version of the shoe, pictured here, that I was sent to replace my previous shoes under the ASICS warrantee.
Love the fit, super comfortable. Only issue was after running I experienced a little pain in my right Achilles tendon that I never got with New Balance shoes. But I can’t blame it on the shoes for sure and the pain went away after my cool down.
So I expect it won’t keep happening. All in all,. great shoes.
The Brooks Beast 20 (Extra Wide) for men are shoes for overpronators. These stability shoes combine comfortable cushioning with stability. The Beast 20 running shoes feature the GuideRails technology, which offers effective support and stability to the knees.
The midsole is made of BioMoGo DNA material and offers soft and comfortable cushioning. Even though the shoes offer comfortable cushioning, the shoes are very responsive. The Ultimate Sockliner in the shoes ensures extra cushioning and comfort.
To ensure a smooth heel-to-toe transition the shoes also feature a Segmented Crash Pad. This shoe has a wide fit (4E) It is a perfect shoe when regular shoes and 2E shoes are too narrow.
The Brooks Ariel 20’s are top notch in comfort, stability ands style. As a former runner, over the years I have worn many generations of Brooks Ariel shoes. Now that I have bunions, I need an EE width for comfort in the forefoot area.
These delivered! Those of you who have waited – as I have – through the supply chain shortages of finding wider width shoes, here is your answer! Heartfelt thanks to Brooks for making the EE width now available and to you Holabird Sports, for carrying these great shoes.
Can’t express how great it is to actually have comfortable and stabilizing shoes! I purchased several pairs!.
I have used Brooks Ariel and its previous version for over 25 years. Until the most recent versions I have been totally in awe of these runners and have never purchased any other version or brand. However, the most recent versions do not have the strength and support around the front and sides of the of the shoe.
This has resulted in holes appearing around the small toe area in the version before the 2020 and worst still in the 2020 version holes appearing in the big toe area. Since a bad fall using the 2020 version which I believe was partly caused by the lack of strength around the toe area I have actually not had the confidence to run since.
Such an amazing runner for those needing good foot support for so many years but now it has been compromised by lack of that support. I would love to be able to purchase versions of the 2014 2016 womens size 40 (B) again if these are available please contact me.
I have been searching the internet but cannot find the size I need.
I have used the Brooks Beast since the 14s and they have been the perfect shoe that fully corrected my overpronation. no other running shoe came close no matter how many i tested in the shop while being videoed on a treadmill.
The bigest benifit to me was the lack of arch in the 18s and before as any small amount of arch makes me get huge blisters through the arch as i have very sweaty feet and any arch causes rubbing, pain and huge blisters.
The change to the Beast 20s has forced an arch and now im getting blisters again. Im sorry Brooks but you have no shoe options for me anymore, PLEASE revert this shoe back to NO arch in the 22 version.
A favorite for 20 years and counting. GEL-Cumulus celebrates its 20th anniversary with premium technology and a refined design that offers optimal support and comfort for runners of all levels. A FlyteFoam midsole teams up with rearfoot and forefoot GEL cushioning for a smooth, lightweight ride that maintains full contact with the ground.
Its jacquard mesh upper elevates the styling and forms to your foot for a fit that feels customized just for you.
Got It Right I tried on the v 18 and v19 but resisted purchasing them because they just did not feel right. However, the v20 feels awesome. The toe box is now more accommodating as there appears to be a bit more room up front.
The overall comfort is enhanced with the improved mesh. The shoe forms nicely around my foot. The Cumulus is now lighter. The Flytefoam addition brought the Cumulus to the modern day in ASICS. The foam is bouncy and the transition from heel to forefoot has improved.
I wonder if the trusstic design change also assists with the heel to toe movement. The amount of cushion is perfect for me, even though I am a larger than average runner. This shoe would be good for those who appreciate cushioning but do not desire the sponginess of the Nimbus.
I’ve been running in this model for a very long time. I can compare the “20” with my most recent previous pair, the “18”: this model seems to return to the slightly narrower fit of previous cumulus shoes I’ve owned – and that is welcome.
I had a little too much lateral movement in the 18, compared to earlier shoes, so to me this represents a return to the standard. I was concerned because ASICS eliminated the notch in the heel for the Achilles tendon, which had been there for as long as I could remember.
Despite the change I really didn’t notice anything with respect to the fit relative to my tendon, and I’ve run in the 20’s a number of times now. It’s a nice benefit of ASICS popularity that lots of color choices are available these days.
I plan to continue running in them for the foreseeable future.
After working for ASICS for 3 years and my college XC/Track team being sponsored by ASICS, this is by far the best shoe you guys have made. Was very disappointed with the debut of Fylte foam in the Dynaflyte and absolutely hated it in the Nimbus to the point that I tried to force myself into the Kayano Series, even though I’m a supinator.
This shoes is extremely lighter than previous predecessors, not as stiff as the previous shoes with Fylte Foam that I’ve run in (good job with FylteFoam Propel), and very roomy toe box. Even my normal size of 9.
5 feels too big, so don’t worry about half sizing up on this one. It’s also a freaking awesome looking shoe, especially this Racing Blue color. Get some popping colors in Fall and I’ll load up on them.
About gave up on you guys, but you may have saved your fan base with the Kayano 25 and Cumulus 20!.
In its fourth edition, the Mach 4 takes its biggest leap forward, built on themes inspired by the Rocket X and Carbon X. Designed for logging long miles, this everyday trainer delivers a lively ride and energetic underfoot feel that is unquestionably HOKA.
Softer and bouncier than the previous iteration, the Mach 4 employs a harmonious blend of foams — merging an incredibly soft, lightweight foam on top with rubberized foam directly beneath. This up-tempo shoe has been crafted with a new pull tab, revamped upper made from heat pressed TPU embroidered yarns, and a refined collar shape that alleviates pressure on the Achilles.
Light, fast and unquestionably responsive, the Mach 4 delivers a daily dose of speed.
I was running my easy days in the Hoka Clifton’s which are a great easy day shoe but I wanted something a little more responsive, not quite as soft and had some speed in it that I could use for easy days but could also do moderate pace, tempo and fartlek runs.
I wanted an easy day shoe that was a little faster and more responsive than the Cliftons. I run my track and speed sessions in the saucony endorphin speed and race in the endorphin pro so the Mach 4 is my easy day shoe but I also use it for some tempo runs.
I am a 1:18 half marathoner and my easy run pace is around 4:10-4:15 per km. I have put about 300km on my Mach 4’s and so far am really happy with the shoe. The shoe is very comfortable, great quality and really light.
As noted in many other reviews you will see some wear on the soles but so far its not concerning to me and I don’t see a problem getting 1000km on this shoe. I run on both trail and road and the Mach 4 does great on both.
The Mach 4 is super comfortable for my long easy runs but also really responsive and fast when I want to pick up the pace. It feels great at sub 4min km pace. I have run a few 7-10k tempo runs at 3:45-3:50 per km in this shoe and it does great.
For tempo runs at half marathon pace or slower I prefer running in the Mach 4 to the Saucony endorphin speed especially if the terrain is a little uneven or variable as the Mach 4 is a little more stable than the endorphin speed.
The Mach 4 is a fun shoe that wants to go fast and is more of a moderate/tempo pace shoe than an easy pace shoe but does both really well. I wanted a shoe that was comfortable for the easy miles but could also pick up the pace and go fast.
The Mach 4 was exactly what I was looking for. If I could only have one shoe for easy, speed and race days I would pick the Mach 4.
First of all I gotta say I didn’t want to like these because I first saw them on a person I do not like. I was at a shoe store, trying on everything but HOKA and didn’t like the feel of any of the running shoes they had.
I have plantar fasciitis and needed something really supportive for work/commuting. Once I tried these on I had to buy them. Compared to the Nike Free Runs and Adidas NMDs I have, it’s like walking on a spongy cloud.
When I run up the stairs of the train station, I feel like I’m bouncing off of trampoline shoes. I used to have some knee pain going up stairs and I don’t feel it in these shoes. I even think my plantar fasciitis is better overall.
I’ve been able to wear shoes with less support (for a short time) that I couldn’t wear before, and I feel like my foot is getting stronger from moving in HOKAs without pain everyday. I’ll definitely be getting more HOKAs in different colors.
Only negative is that in the first week of wearing these I had some added knee pain. I read online that this happens because the cushiness of the sole allows your knee to buckle a bit before settling for each step.
Once I became more conscious of that I focused on stabilizing my feet more with each step and it really hasn’t been a problem since.
I’ve run in my shoes once for three miles. I bought them to replace a pair of Nike Pegasus 38s, which I was dissatisfied with (the Pegasus wore out after less than 300 miles and has creases in the middle from day one).
I bought these because I love my New Balance 1080s and the shoe guide I read said these are similar. The Hokas are extremely comfortable to walk in, but running was weird. It’s an odd mix of fast and slow.
A weird blend of my 1080s and a Rebel V2 (which I tried on). But the difference with these is your foot sinks into them, then the hard outsole catches on. It was an odd sensation, like running on sand.
I thought surely they were super slow (it was an easy day), but I looked down at my watch and saw about a minute a mile faster than my usual easy pace. I think I might eventually get used to them, but I had some shin splint pain and my quads seem to feel it a little more.
I think it’s the rocker on the shoe. I’ll probably use this the way I used the Pegasus–easy days and medium distance fast but not all out days. Also, the Shoe is super narrow. It’s almost as if the standard width is women’s width.
I don’t have wide feet and I ordered up a size, and am glad I did. I could be wrong, but I think the outsole isn’t a problem. It’s very thick. I wore through the blown rubber on the outside of the Pegasus in less than 150 miles in some spots.
I think the outsole, while technically EVA, is really just a huge chunk of rubberish material. I’ll keep using them but am not convinced. Based on the initial run, I still prefer my New Balance 1080s.
I rarely write reviews but I feel I need to for these shoes. I have severely flat feet. My arches are always swollen and my feet always hurt. I’ve had many different types of expensive prescription orthotics and they never seem to help any more than the store bought ones to be honest.
This shoe is the most comfortable one I’ve had. The pain in the top of my foot is almost gone and the plastic inserts give me just enough support. My arches aren’t aching like they use to. I work at a Y as a wellness coach so I have a closet full of various workout shoes but these are my favorite and the only ones I want to wear anymore.
I bought the black, then the turquoise and will probably be buying the pink. They have truly been a game changer for me! Please continue to make more colors! I am a 9 and usually size up to a 9. 5 for athletic shoes but I probably could have sized up to a 10 and used the inserts they give you.
The Under Armour HOVR MACHINA men’s running shoes can be connected to the UA MAPMYRUN application that follows and analyses all your running data, making you a better runner. The upper is developed to optimise breathability and maintaining low weights.
It is constructed without any overlays or seams allowing for long distance running with no irritation. The heel is aerodynamically designed, and the outer panel is made from TPU providing greater support and a firm hold.
The formed EVA insole adapts to your feet, eliminates slippage, and provides excellent comfort inside the shoes. UA HOVR technology gives a “zero gravity feeling” and returns the energy that is absorbed by each step.
The rubber sole is designed to be durable in the places that experience the most wear and the bend zones support natural movement.
I have bought a different pair of this style once before these and was quite surprised with how comfortable they are, when i first tried them out. It has a feature where it tracks how many steps you do, built within the shoe, which you connect through the App and can track.
However I have not set this up, due to personal preference. If you want to keep track of your steps then these shoes are what you want with comfort, just sign up for a subscription and you pay for a certain period.
I love the patterns and colours of this shoe, the only issue I have is, they only have a limited amount of a particular colour style and you cannot purchase them again. I play basketball and I’m all about style and comfort.
The first time I bought this style probably about 6 months ago and they still have grip, but the base of the shoe is starting to ware away. I think this is a great shoe. Just needs to be an unlimited amount I think what I would call a “popular style colour”.
My default go to was another brand of running shoes and have owned like 6 Pairs. The HOVR is my first one veering off that tested path as I try to change from my heel strike to a forefoot strike. I am impressed by the shoe and the tech it carries.
If you are that stage where you understand CADENCE I would highly recommend this shoe. Even if you are a beginner or just after a good looking shoe this won’t disappoint you. But if you are a runner looking to improve your technique then look no further than the Machina.
I bought these on the recommendation of a friend. I have developed issues with my Achilles tendons and needed a shoe that had very little pressure on the tendons to help them heal. I’m very short and have big feet.
Shoes that fit my feet are generally made for people taller than me so finding shoes with no pressure on my Achilles tendons is no easy task. These are wonderful. They’re lightweight, cushioned well inside and fit snugly without being very tight.
They are supportive around the heel without pushing against my tendons. I have now been able to walk and run without pain and don’t remember being happier with new shoes. I will be buying these again when my current pair wear out!.
8. ASICS Gel-Cumulus 22 11.5 , Piedmont Grey/Magnetic Blue (Men’s)
Increases forefoot support and comfort FlyteFoam Propel Technology.
Attenuates shock during impact and toe-off phases, and allows movement in multiple planes as the foot transitions through the gait cycle. AHAR Outsole.
The GEL-CUMULUS 22 running shoe is a recommended choice for neutral runners who want a soft and flexible everyday trainer with a great fit. This update features a one-piece mesh upper that’s combined with a seamless 3D print construction to improve support and comfort around the foot.
The FLYTEFOAM technology in the midsole is softer than the previous version to promote a pillowy ride. Under the heel where the foot first hits the ground has been redesigned to isolate impact while the new heel design’s deeper forefoot flex grooves and softer midsole foam create a smoother ride.
Lastly, a hard-wearing AHAR rubber outsole compound has been placed in key contact areas to help the GEL-CUMULUS 22 shoe stand up to a ton of miles.
Depending on what color you purchase, the shoe is different. Not all of the Cumulus 22s are the same. The Black/White and the Breeze/Black get five stars all around. The tongue is padded, but not excessively; the forefoot is roomy; the laces aren’t too short; and they provide a sleek, comfortable fit that is true to size.
What I don’t care for is the color. Peach is not my favorite and unfortunately the only Cumulus 22s that have the fit I described have a lot of peach. All of the other colors provide a terrible fit. If you zoom in, you can see that the first two colors have 5 rectangular eyes for lacing, the others have 6 round eyes with a plastic ring around each; the first have a longer, flatter tongue, the others have a shorter, thick tongue; the upper materials are also different.
These differences change the fit of the shoe and make the other colors feel shorter, narrower, and very tight across the instep. Five stars to the colors mentioned by name for being a great fit that is comfortable out of the box; true to my normal running shoe size; cushioned; supportive; soft, and breathable.
One star for the other colors: they are bulky, tight, the laces are too short, and they are hot due to all the excessive padding on the tongue and ankle. I hope Asics will make more colors in the first style.
It’s a mystery to me why the fit and style is so drastically different on the same version of this shoe. Five stars for the colors mentioned by name, one star for the rest.
Selecting the right running shoe is key for performance and safety. I’ve been running with the GEL-Cumulus shoes for years. The GEL-Cumulus fits my needs – pronation, mileage, and running surface. These are comfortable and functional, but the laces are a bit short.
The last two lace holes are practically unusable because of the limited lace length. If someone needs to use the last two lace holes, they need to replace the original laces with something longer. Otherwise, you’ll cut the blood circulation off trying to tie your shoes.
Men’s neutral training shoe. The most cushioned shoe in the HOKA road-shoe lineup, the game-changing Men’s Bondi 7 delivers a smooth, balanced ride over any distance. Engineered with the same full EVA midsole, breathable mesh upper and signature Meta-Rocker technology as its predecessor, the Bondi 7 is updated with a supremely plush collar.
Made from ultra-soft memory foam designed to accommodate a narrower heel, the collar conforms to a wide variety of ankles, cradling the Achilles in cushy comfort.
I’ve had the Bondi X for a few weeks and generally run between 6-15km per run 3 times a week. I consider myself a casual runner (for the past 12 years), generally fit and in my mid 40’s. In addition, I have previously used the Bondi Clifton (500km plus) so I can now compare the two.
I found the Clifton extremely spongy and soft and after running beyond 15km’s, I get pains on the outer side of my knee area in which I couldn’t figure out why until a friend suggested that perhaps my shoes did not give enough stability.
I didn’t have this problem with the Bondi X and the only reason I can put it on is that the carbon plate is likely stabilizing my ground contact and hence my knees are not suffering. On short fast running days, I feel the shoe becoming responsive (not as responsive as the Clifton) as I change my running style but I feel the Bondi X at best for long distance (12km plus).
The biggest negative about this shoe is that terrible tongue – its very short and I have to often stop and pull them back up. On long runs, it the tongue goes under the laces and its very annoying. Other than that it’s a good neutral shoe that offers a bit of stability.
I wanted to wait to write this review so I can give an honest one. It’s been about 2 months of wearing these and I am obsessed!! I run about 35-50 miles a week and these have helped my knees and my ankles.
The cushion is next level and the flow of my runs are great. They do alleviate some of the pounding from the sidewalk. Running on Asphalt is even better with these HOWEVER, here comes the con. these do get Little Rock’s stuck in the bottom of the shoe where the X is.
You can feel the rocks every time you step. So that’s a bit annoying but definitely not a deal breaker. My other con is the tongue of the shoe. depending on my socks, the tongue bothers the top of my foot- I find myself having to bed down and move the tongue around.
This doesn’t happen often though, only with short socks. but be aware of that. I also changed out the laces to bungee laces and this changed the game. I want to add that I was nervous about the shoe being too bulky because of the wing on the back.
They do look bulky when holding the shoe but you don’t feel the bulkness of them while running. Overall, I will say these have been one of the best running shoes I have owned and I will likely keep buying these for years to come.
*My husband bought these for me as I didn’t want to pay as much for shoes. *I love Hoka Bondi. They were a little more pricey than I was used to paying but after getting my Hoka Bondi 6 pair a couple of years ago, I was sold! They have held up great but were, of course, starting to break down some.
I am a walker and also a nurse on the go. I wanted to wait til the new Bondis came out before purchasing anything new. I was a bit taken aback at the price but I was sure they would be worth it. I also a bit disappointed with the limited color.
White usually isn’t a good color for a nurse who is at the bedside (Hoka, if you want medical professionals at the bedside to purchase shoes, we need colors other than white!). I was excited to get them and although I’m not completely disappointed, I not completely satisfied.
I didn’t like the tongue of the shoe. not padded enough which makes it tough for older fingers to get a hold of and rubs a bit while walking. The protruding heel can snag on things in tight quarters of the nursing world.
After wearing them now for a couple weeks, I have decided that my 2 year old Bondi 6’s are just as comfortable as the Bondi X with the price $50 cheaper! Please go back to the drawing board Hoka. Be what I know you can be.
I honestly love these shoes. I had Puma’s and Under Armour shoes prior to these, and I felt like the way the shoe was shaped, that my foot was always pointing at an angle in the shoes. I found these online and purchased them on a whim because I thought nothing could be worse than what I was already dealing with in regards to my tennis shoes/sneakers.
I’m on my feet all day, everyday because I work in manufacturing engineering and these sneakers ROCK. All the extras they give you are just amazing. You get 2 different thicknesses of spacers in case you have feet that aren’t as thick height wise, they give you added arch support (which I use and LOVE) and they give you 2 different types of laces.
My only issues with these shoes is that I am using the laces that you push the plastic piece down on to tighten, and the plastic cap on the end of the laces that hold both ends together already came off one shoe and I can’t get it back on.
But this does not at all affect the wearability of the shoe or its functionality. They are still awesome, very comfortable and extremely sturdy. This is the first set of sneakers I have had in a really long time that actually keep my feet warm and dry.
They are not paper thin like most sneakers these days. These are STURDY shoes, but still flexible so you don’t feel like you are in boots or something. If you are debating these shoes, get a pair. You won’t be disappointed.
I have wide feet and the normal width fits great. I usually have to buy men sneakers because of this but these shoes are fabulous.
I know this is going to seem silly and I would have NEVER believed this if I wouldn’t have experienced it myself. But these shoes straight up changed my life. My feet started hurting a couple of years ago, and I was told it was plantar fasciitis.
My left foot the whole entire foot hurt, especially the top of the main bone and even my ankle. My right foot it was mostly my heel. But over the last several months it had gotten so bad that it hurt to walk and I had a limp.
I’d try to hold on to whatever I could when walking just to keep as much pressure off. I even have several different pairs of insoles made specifically for PF that I wore every day. I ordered these shoes (after researching and trying to find things to help) because of the reviews and them being made to help with plantar fasciitis.
I put them on as soon as they came in and I felt some relief. The next day I put them on when I woke up and by the end of the day I was very uncomfortable and was thinking they weren’t going to work for me but I had read that it takes up to ten days for them to contour to your feet so I continued to wear them.
Every waking minute! By the third or maybe fourth day I could walk with NO pain what’s so ever. I had energy and was/am able to stay up all day and I’m getting so much done! Looking back my quality of life was pretty much nonexistent and it’s crazy to me that it was all because my feet hurt so bad and I was in so much pain.
I literally didn’t want to do anything other than sleep because that was the only time I wasn’t in pain. And being a homeschooling momma of 4 that definitely wasn’t good. Once the pain was gone I was able to do so much more that I never really knew how much I was suffering and letting myself and duties go until then.
I ordered the slippers for wearing in the house. They don’t give me absolute relief like the shoes do but they are good for quick slipping on and off and they do take away most of the pain. But these tennis shoes are still my “go-to” and I wear them every single day.
Most of the time as soon as I wake up until I go to bed at night, but other times like on lazy staying at home days I’ll just put the slippers on. If you suffer from pain from Plantar fasciitis then do yourself a favor and GET THESE SHOES! Give it a few days of wearing them to get your feet used to them and you absolutely won’t regret it!!!.

Full-length Boost midsole foam feels responsive and plush with every step. Torsion system features a supportive “bone” that flexes for a natural heel to midfoot transition. Rubber outsole delivers grip and durability on a variety of surfaces.
I love these sneakers. I work at a gym so I am always on my feet with clients and showing people how to use machines. These are the most comfortable pair of sneakers I own. I literally wear these shoes everyday that’s how good they are.
And there also a good work shoe too. I need a comfortable pair of sneakers to run in and these are them. Would definitely buy again.
Bought these shoes in March and they already have a hole forming on the top front of the show. The knit material is not durable at all. This has never happened with previous ultraboost models.

I was introduced to HOKA shoes 2 days ago in Dick’s sporting Goods when I asked the assistant for good running shoes. I’d never heard of them before, and it helped that there was a customer there who also highly recommended HOKA shoes.
I tried them on and loved them, but the price put me off, so I went looking at other stores in the area, and ended up going back to Dick’s to buy them. Nothing compares to this shoe, and that was evident the first time I wore them on my daily 4 mile walk\run.
I usually walk more and run less, and the first time I wore them I was able to run more and walk less. My feet usually ache by the time I’m finished, and with my new HOKA’s I had no ache at all on my feet.
Completely comfortable, and they look amazing too. I got the light blue ones. These are top notch running shoes, and the price reflects it. I’m a firm believer that you get what you pay for, and I got me the best shoes ever! I’m a size 9, but opted for the 9.
5 W and they fit perfectly with socks. My feet feel very supported throughout, and they’re just snug enough so that my foot doesn’t move around inside of them which can lead to blisters. They go on with ease too.
They slipped right on easily without the use of a shoe tongue. I have a high arch, and these shoes are made for arch support. You can feel it as soon as your foot slides inside. They just feel so good on your feet.
As I started walking, it was a little weird because of how the shoe rolls with your stride, but I was used to it very quickly and it felt so good I started running with them!!! I was able to run for most of the 4 miles I do a day, and that hasn’t been the case for the other running shoes I paid a fortune for before I found HOKA.
I’m very impressed, and very happy I went back to Dick’s and bought these. Im hooked on HOKA for sure.
Let me start off by saying I *REALLY* wanted Hoka shoes to work for me! I ordered this shoe in a 6. 5 Wide and planned to use them for treadmill and road running. I have overpronation, which was the deciding factor for these shoes.
The toe-box is wonderful! Ample space for my wide toe splay and the upper is so comfortable and almost sock-like. The support and cushion is outstanding and I would have LOVED to keep these. Unfortunately, my entire foot is wide, and not just my toes.
The raised inner edge of the arch and heel foam (likely for added support) hits nearly two centimeters into my arch and heel. It’s like having a stick inside my shoe running down my arch. Anyway, I took them back to a brick and mortar store with a Hoka Hub and tried two other Hoka models while I was there.
Both of the other models had the same problem. I do not recommend this brand for wide feet, even with a wide size.
I’m comparing these to my Bondi 7s which I love and use for my daily exercise walks. The Bondis are massively cushioned, I only wish I had them available when I was working in my hospital, retired now.
I thought for more all around daily wear, less vigorous than a run or exercise walk, something with a little less height and cushion might be a good choice. That led me to a great local running shoe store, Feet First in Columbia Maryland.
They suggested the Arahi 5. I’ve now had the opportunity to try various Hoka shoes and although I have a medium width foot whether measuring with a tape measure or one of those Brannock devices in the shoe stores, the standard width versions have been too cramped for me.
So I’ve chosen wides both in the Bondi and now the Arahi and that has worked out extremely well. If you have a narrow, low volume foot the standard width should be fine but if you have a medium to wide foot I strongly recommend just starting with a 2EE.
The Arahi puts you a little closer to the ground but still has a wonderful amount of cushioning. I’m not a runner but for vigorous walking both the Arahi and Bondi are great choices, you’ll just bounce more in the Bondis.
For general all day wear while shopping, running errands, going to appointments, etc. I think the Arahis are a fantastic choice. I wouldn’t hesitate to use the Bondis for those purposes but I’d be doing more bouncing.
Regarding ordering from Hoka, I wasn’t familiar with them at all prior to a couple months ago but I did order a pair of Clifton 8s, standard width, too narrow for me. They arrived the very next day! I did send them back, Hoka makes this easy, and they refunded the purchase almost immediately.
Now that I have more experience with their sizing and different models I’ll likely order from them again, very soon possibly – I’m waiting for more feedback on the new Ora 2 recovery shoe, I’m looking for a comfortable lighter weight slip on with typical Hoka cushioning.

At this point I own no bikinis other than tomcat tops, triangle tops and brazil bottoms. This suit is so practical and cute. There is no padding in Jolyn suits so if you’re afraid of people knowing you have nipples, maybe stay away from plain colors and go for the patterned tops.
These things are indestructible and the mango top looks so cute paired with dragonfruit bottoms!.
I love the look & comfort-but what I didn’t love is that after I got off the treadmill from a run I saw the adaptors on the floor! Today I wore them & was ordering a coffee, looked down and saw another one had come out.
I actually reported this a couple of weeks ago & someone told me they would mail me some but I haven’t received anything. In addition, I was reassured this was a rare occurrence, menawhile my coworker told me that hers did the same thing!.

Whilst this review is on the RunAmocs that I recently purchased, Softstar has me impressed with a couple of their offerings already. I have tried Vivobarefoot, Freet, Xero Shoes, Vibrams, and even Whitin; none come close for the comfort alone.
Yes, all of these producers offer pretty wide toe boxes and are still much more freeing to wear than a pair of Nike, Converse, or Adidas, but the Softstar sets itself apart in that respect for me. As far as the RunAmoc themselves, I love that you have the option to customize the leathers and colors used; it is great to be able to personalize your shoes that you wear day in and out.
The design is quite “fresh” and sporty looking, but all of it is functional as well, with the added flair of a truly rubberized toe cap for protection of the toes on the front. As I touched on before and will reiterate the best part for me, and I think it is/will be for others, is just how wide these shoes can be.
They achieve all of this space, yet they will still fit securely on your foot with little extra movement. The space is just there for when the action really heats up and you get to running; your toes have somewhere to “splay” into when your toes actually have to work! In comparison to the aforementioned producers, only Vivobarefoot comes close, but there is still an unmatched suppleness to the leathers and construction style used by the Elves at Softstar.
I honestly barely feel like I have a shoe on, and the only thing that really reminds me is the rubber toe cap that is still being broken in a little bit (they are stiff at first, but get better with time).
Yes, a Xero Prio has a wide toe box, but my toes will still slam into the materials being used for the construction of the outers. Even if my toes do that within these RunAmocs, they are only running into the softest feeling leather that just forms to the foot, and even flexes if necessary.
Divine! Another thing to note is that the sole is still quite flexible, if not moreso than other producers, and I have yet to really have any painful encounters while using the Vibram 5mm sole. There is a good amount of “ground-feel”, but you still feel that your foot is protected.
I only have one personal gripe, and that is perhaps ignorance on my part: the outsole rubber near the heel protrudes away from the “structure” of the shoe a bit. 95% of the time I do not notice it, but when wearing these shoes while driving, that part of the heel constantly catches on my floormats when letting out on a pedal.
Slight nuisance I can deal with, as long as it does not separate the outsole from the midsole! One final thing to note is that Softstar has some absolutely fantastic customer service for this day and age; it is very refreshing and I thank y’all! They really do stand behind their products and craftsmanship, and helped me ultimately find the correct sizes and products.
Top notch! Overall, I do not think I will be trying many other minimalist shoes in the near future, as Softstar will be very hard to compete with. These RunAmocs are fantastic for almost any activity or event, customizable, comfortable, very spacious, and backing them up with some of the best customer service to “boot”! Having found the closest thing to perfection for now, I shall be selling all those constricting Nikes!.
AmpliFoam midsole increases flexibility in every step Guidance Line technology reduces imbalance caused by shifts in your centre of pressure Moulded rubber outsole enhances traction and durability Rearfoot GEL technology cushions the heel of the Achilles Ortholite sockliner ensures moisture management and a high-level of breathability Created by ASICS for runners who prefer to train on the roads, the GEL-PULSE 12 provides you with supportive cushioning and a natural gait cycle for your best run yet.
Improving on its predecessor, ASCIS have tweaked the GEL-PULSE 12 to have a more ergonomic fit around the heel and over the top of the foot. Softer and more efficient than the GEL-PULSE 11, this not only provides more comfort but also gives the GEL-PULSE 12 a cleaner look.
A new model doesn’t mean the Japanese sportswear specialists have forgotten what made the GEL-PULSE 11 great though. It still features an Amplifoam midsole that’ll provide you with increased flexibility, comfort, and adaptability on long-distance runs.
The moulded rubber outsole also make a return to give you reliable durability and grip in all conditions, and of course, the GEL technology in the rearfoot will always be there to reduce shock on joints during impact.

I simply can’t believe the difference. I swear to god, I put these on and I felt faster standing still. I’m not a runner, never have been, but I’ve had to start, and I put off investing in proper quality shoes for far too long – I’m kicking myself for not getting these sooner (and in terms of “investment” these aren’t even particularly expensive, just more than I’d have to throw away).
I also couldn’t believe how well they fit – I don’t buy shoes online for that exact reason, but they fit simply perfectly, like they were tailored for my own feet. They’ve even replaced my slippers as my preferred working-from-home footwear! Finally, I’ve used these maybe ten times now under reasonably stressful physical conditions, and so far no sign of wear or damage.
So disappointed. I loved Gel-Pulse up to version 10 as they were sturdy, strong, roomy and gave my ankle and overall feet lots of support. Gel-Pulse 11 arrived and was softer, less sturdy and I could feel the pavement under my foot, and Gel-Pulse 12 then came and is tight on roof of my feet, my feet get pins and needles as blood is restricted and I can feel the pavement.
They are just so soft and literally stuck to my feet with no room. I’m lost without Gel-Pulse 10 and older. Please bring back the sturdy, strong running shoe!.
Asics are my go to when it comes to walking/running shoes and I am so so happy with this purchase. These are more of a lilac rather than the grey but they are such a gorgeous colour. They are so comfortable and supportive I would definitely recommend these! I went with my normal size and they were a perfect fit.
UNDER ARMOUR Men’s HOVR Machina running shoes feature a synthetic and mesh upper with reflective details for breathability. Compression mesh Energy Web contains and molds UA HOVR foam to provide bounce back.
Lace-up front for a secure fit. External heel counter adds stability and lock-down. Sprint spike-inspired Pebax speed plate increases return and push-off. Solid rubber outsole with carbon rubber pods under the heel provides great traction and durability at high-impact zones.
This is my third pair of Under Armour HOVR sneakers that I’ve purchased within the last 18 months 🙂 I buy only Under Armour HOVR sneakers ever since discovering they have built-in Bluetooth. I do 20,000 steps a day so having Bluetooth makes it a breeze to track steps.
This pair is the most comfortable/supportive and they’re super light so it feels like I’m walking on a cloud! The only thing I would warn others about is the colour of the sole/tongue, I thought it was a rose gold due to it’s appearance on my computer monitor but they’re in fact a light purple/pink.
