Best Swim Cap For Black Hair (2023 Updated)

Do not recommend! It’s work no better than my 5. 99 shower cap. Use it to go swimmer only got in the water never put my head underneath but my hair still got wet. Total waste of ($200)and I had just got my hair retwist….

Please don’t make the same mistake.

I tried 3 other swim caps that said they were for long hair, and none of them worked. This cap is perfect. I have long and think hair, 36 inches long. i am able to pull it into a pony tail and winde it around and slide the cap over! Easy-pzzzee.

Wow !!!! Extremely pleased with the size of this swim cap. Perfect size for my long kinky hair, but tapered at face line to prevent water. I can wear a scarf underneath to prevent my hair from sweating.

Cant wait to use it BUT the fit it AWESOME !!!!! Definitely recommend for size.

My daughter used it and followed the instructions before putting it on and her hair still got wet all over. I really dont think there is a product that will keep people with thick hair, like locs from getting wet.

Good luck for anyone who does because this product did not do the job!!!!! One good thing I did get my refund with no problem.

I purchased this cap for my granddaughter. She love the fact that it did cover her braids and had a nice fit. When she got out of the pool, it did keep most of her hair from getting wet, the only thing we notice was the edges of her hair did get some water, but not a lot.

I would purchase this cap again. I think it was a great buy and so glad they had something for women and girls with braids and long hair!.

The cap completely fits and covers all of my locs. Unfortunately, water still seeps into the sides resulting in the back of my hair and my edges getting soaked. However, my entire head doesn’t get wet, so the cap is at least useful in keeping me from having to do my hair every weekend after my swim lesson.

It has been suggested that I buy another cap to see if maybe that will help keep my edges dry. we shall see.

I am very happy with this long hair swim cap purchase I made last month. I have thick hair and it works well. It slides on over my hair well when I put it on and take it off without tearing my hair. I am thrilled that it provides such great coverage so that my hair no longer gets damaged from the chlorine during my daily swims.

My hair stylist, who colors my hair, is thrilled that this cap has solved my hair damage problem. She recommends wetting my hair before I put on my cap. I am very pleased that I can continue swimming every day in the pool at my club without getting damaged hair!.

I don’t have a big head, so this cap fits comfortably for 1-1. 5h practices. No wrinkles compared to regular caps. Seats very firmly throughout the practice, so I don’t have to make small readjustments in the practice as I do with regular caps.

It’s thinner on the edges than other “competition” caps, so it’s easier to put on and it’s not too tight for me. Sort of middle ground between regular caps and competition caps. So it may not be as comfortable for people with bigger heads to wear during practices.

I have had no luck finding a swim cap that can fit my big head and all my hair without giving me a headache after a short swim or literally bursting open halfway through a swim because the cap can no longer contain all my upstairs business.

This cap is amazing. I ordered six of them. It fits my hair, which I can actually put in a bun now, because the cap fits the bun. And I don’t get headaches anymore from my head being confined in a swim cap for normal headed humans.

Didn’t believe the sizing chart so ordered the one suggested by my measurements and one size larger. The one size larger is snug, the suggested one, too tight. Well I suppose it one was 5% body fat the tight one might have been ok, but I don’t find so-tight-the-flesh-seeps-over-the-edges very empowering.

The suit does not have a huge amount of stretch so sizing may be more important than in some suits. Sigma’s return policy makes it very easy!!! The suit feels quite tough, but time will tell whether it lasts – only swum in it a few times so far.

It is a little bit warmer than my previous very thin suit, which is nice, and it is comfortable.

Everything you’d expect in a swim cap. I purchased the red, which is nice and bright for visibility on my open water swims. I have short hair and I would say this cap has plenty of room for those of you with long hair.

Classic silicone cap. They’re all the same. But red colour shows my hair underneath – a bit too transparent.

The cap is structurely too tight to allow the volume and texture of afro or very curly hair to comfortably fit underneath. One size does not fit all. My head is small, my hair is thick and the cap kept sliding off, allowing chlorine to touch my hair which defeats its purpose.

Not an inclusive product and not having the right equipment/supplies to swim unfortunately deters many from swimming as chlorine negatively affects the texture of curly and afro hair more severely than straight hair.

I would recommend the brand soulcaps if you live in the uk or any similar brands as I ended up buying it as an alternative to fufill the needs of anyone wanting to swim. What a swimming cap is “supposed” to look like is outdated and Speedo as well as other companies need but won’t address this.

I purchased this so that I do not have to apply sunscreen to my bald head in the pool or ocean. I used it multiple times for racing and swimming in the pool with Aqua Sphere goggles and for diving/snokeling in the Ocean in the Big Island and Kauai, Hawaii and it stays on like glue and does not interfere with my goggles or mask seal.

You can even push it down closer to eyes and it stays firm. Even diving through violent Ocean waves it stayed on–up to two hours in the water–no problem. Protected my head against sunburn each time with no sunscreen.

On one of my snorkeling boats I saw 2 other guys using this cap for the same reason–prevent sunburn to the bald head. I liked it so much I bought another one. Much more comfortable and easier to use than the Silicone caps.

I have had these before that worked great, this one not so much. It wouldnt seal properly, allowing water to get inside. I felt it as soon as I went underwater, got out immediately, pulled it off and had soaking wet hair.

Not to mention it was ridiculously uncomfortable. Not good for keeping head dry, not good for streamlining, not comfortable, all in all turned out to be a waste of money. Fainaly it broke faster than I expected.

I have very long dreadlocks (and a big head) so finding a swim cap was impossible. My special needs brother goes swimming once a week and, when his support worker passed away, I had to start taking him.

Welp, this didn’t work for me. I have long, thick Caucasian hair and was really excited to try this cap. Got the medium as suggested for my hair type. I was hopeful I could keep my hair in my top knot bun, but I could not for the life of me get this cap on my head.

I hurt my eye at one point because the tension was so tight, and it snapped violently on my eye. I eventually changed my hair to a low bun and had better luck getting the darn thing on, but I could feel the water seep in almost immediately when I got in the pool.

The cap didn’t slide off, but after 20 minutes of lap swimming, there were definitely water bubbles in the cap, and my hair was wetter than when I wear my usual TYR cap. :-(.

I found the Soul Cap to perform just as other silicone swim caps; it provides all over coverage but my hair still is damp, though not soaked, after a 45 – 1 hour swim session. I recently started swimming at least twice a week, concentrating mainly on the back stroke doing laps.

Based on the reviews I was hopeful the Soul Cap would keep my hair completely dry. It seems there really is no magic cap that keeps the hair totally dry if you will be submerging you head in the pool.

I will keep using though, as I appreciate my hair not getting soaked. I do, however, need to wash it after each swim session.

I bought it for anyone to use while swimming to keep our hair dry. One of our family members has drread and it fits over their bun. It also fits on my 7 year olds hair and kept her hair dry. Definitely recommend!.

This cap is good, the only problem is I have a tendency to break them after a summer of frequent lap swimming and time in the sun. I also always fade caps when I swim in the summer but I don’t really care about that.

I always look for a cheaper price because good chance I’ll break by the end of the season.

with not being able to see the product in hand, I went ahead and ordered it anyway. Very pleased with product, ease of ordering and also shipped super fast. Would definitely recommend. I also have long hair and it fit my hair in a pony tail as well.

I recently bought a HUUB silicone swim cap and I am very happy with it. It’s good quality and it came on time with plenty of notice and I could track the item.

I bought this a view weeks ago and am really happy with it. I’ve bought three swim caps before which are no good at all then found the HUUB at Sigma Sport and I am delighted with the quality of the cap and it stayed on my head without riding up constantly!.

This cap is very soft to handle but strong enough to allow easy stretching it over your head, even if the wearer has a large, thick ponytail. My granddaughter (7years) dislikes getting water in her ears and this wonderful cap has fixed the problem.

This silicone is a little thicker than I’m used to, so it felt quite tight on my head. But it kept my bob length hair almost dry! Even after doing breaststroke laps. My ears felt a bit squished after an hour and can’t have my studs in while wearing this swimming cap as the backs dig into my head too much.

Works a treat. Purchased for school swimming and Miss 10 loves it. No issues getting her long hair into the Silicon and hair stays dry. Mostly. The cute little plastic ziploc bag keeps it together in her swimming bag which is a plus.

This is bar none the only brand that as a swimmer who swims on the regular prefers. The best all around simply because it works. It doesn’t get bleached out, torn, ripped, or faded as fast as some of the other brands.

Great colors and quality. You typically see the pros use this as well as Olympic athletes. I have never used nor would I recommend any other brand as a water 💧baby!.

This is a great cap. Stays on securely and comfortably. And unlike rubber caps, does not pull your hair. If you spend a lot of time in the pool, then this cap is for you. Highly recommended.

This is a beaut for lane swimming when I’m knocking out 30 or 40 laps. It’s lightweight and drys quickly. In all my years of using stretchier swimcaps I’ve never lost one in the ocean. After only two weeks using this one, however, I need a new one.

A huge wave at Manly, at the end of my Manly-Shelley-Manly swim knocked me for six and removed my goggles and swim cap. It was low key traumatising. This item is again great for laps but, as I discovered to my cost, crap in the ocesn.

Very pleased as it’s hard to find a brightly coloured neoprene hat. S/M Fits perfectly for small woman’s head with hair in a ponytail. Adjustable chin strap so doesn’t feel like it’s strangling you and kept water out of my ears well.

Measured my head before purchase to ensure bought right size but it was very small so I had to send it back. Although well made, it seemed a little short and kept sliding up my head so much do that I thought it would come off in the water.

I haven’t yet replaced it. Can’t decide whether to source the bigger size or buy a design with a chin strap.

I first tried S/M after measuring my head but I couldn’t even get that on my head. With misgivings I swapped it for L/XL. It still doesn’t seem to fit well. It wants to pop off all the time. I wore it first in the sea and it came off instantly when I was in the waves.

Nest i wire it in a oond. I had to pull it right down close to my eyes. Another swimmer helped me pull it down and fix the back Velcro. It felt quite insecure but did stay on.

When I first received this item it looked good and I was pleased with it. But on holiday last week when I went to put it on for the first time, some of the petals came away in my hands, I was not being rough at all.

I took a closer look and you could see some of the glue where they had been stuck on and it looked a bit of a mess. For the money I paid I am a bit disappointed, I have kept the petal bits, and hope to get some rebate from the company.

The swim cap is a lovely bright colour and is brilliant quality. Unfortunately it is just too small for me. I’ve an average-sized head but long, thick hair and sadly the hat only reaches the top of my ears, not a problem I’ve had before.

Love my Zone 3 cap, its so easy to put on, even with my super thick hair. It stays on well and is comfortable throughout my swim. Will definitely be investing in a couple more colours to match my suits.

Awful smell Right out of the package and persists despite washing. I ordered this color once years ago and it smelled So I threw it out after several times of trying to clean it. I saw it again recently and, because I like the color, I tried it again.

It smells exactly the same as the first one I got years ago. Absolutely horrible. I have tried rinsing it, even swishing it in the chlorinated pool… Letting it air out… Scrubbing it with soapy bubbles… There’s nothing I can do to get this hideous odor out.

I would not recommend getting this color. However, I do recommend the sporti silicon swim caps in this style. They are fantastic!.

Bought this for my 10 year old daughter, and she has no complaints about it at all. The silicone is fantastic because it doesn”t pull on her hair like the rubber caps, and because it is an adult size, she can use it for a longer amount of time.

It has plenty of room for long hair. She usually wears a french braid and holds it upside down while we get the cap on. We also sometimes just make a bun and again, no problems getting the cap on. we just have to make sure not to have it too far down on her forehead at the onset.

Cap is too tight and does not fit a 5 yr old petite kid. I bought 4 for total of 60$ through Walmart and when I tried to return to store, Walmart refused to take it back. I was asked to return to the swim outlet store at an additional return shipping fee of 4$!! Per cap.

Walmart return policy said this could be returned to the store, however Walmart is misleading the customers by not honoring their policy.

I bought two swim caps and they’re both this material – not meant to keep water out, they’re meant to keep hair in place and out of the way. I had a problem with rubber caps pulling my hair, giving me headaches while swimming and a friend recommended spandex.

I thought the price of this was too good to be true but wow, was I ever wrong, this is a great cap, I use it all the time for training and I use the fancier one, same brand, with the graphics for special projects.

I bought this for my Autistic daughter because she doesn’t like the rubber ones pulling her hair out and it definitely doesn’t do that. Just wish it was a touch bigger. She doesn’t have a big head but she has thick hair.

I know that the lycra caps dont keep water out but then no one in the shop told me about it. There was a boy in that area whom I had asked about swimming caps and he showed me this one and one other colour.

But ideally he should have told me that there are 2 types of caps, one that is water proof and one that is not. I was buying for the first time for my 5 year old son who has just enrolled for a swimming class.

Thanks to the wet hair he was down with fever in the first week itself. But since I had used this cap, I could not return it and bought another white colour silicone cap from your store. You can check your database.

Please train your staff to be a little more proactive and talk to customers and educate them. Then cant act merely as traffic police and direct people. They have understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions.

And for that they have to talk and ask questions. It would have saved my money, my son’s health and the extra trip to your store.
