I’ve been detailing boats for over 8 years now and own my own detailing business. Stumbled across this product on YouTube and decided to try it out. I am completely amazed by this compound. It works better than anything ive used so far and I have tested a lot of products over the years.
Hands down the easiest most efficient product on the market that I am aware of. You get better results than any compound ive used with less passes and time. Another added bonus is it’s less messy than other heavy compounds.
I recommend trying it out, you won’t be disappointed!.
I have used Automatic for 20+ years. I bought this because of a youtube video of this product getting sand marks out. It didn’t do any better than what I use now. It is good for bringing the gel coat to a shine.
However for the money I can get a gallon of Automatic. So if your look for just buffing compound it will work great.
This stuff is absolutely awesome! In the past I’ve always had to sand gelcoat repairs to 1200 grit before hitting them with the buffer. With this TB compound I can stop at 800 and with a single application it completely removes all sanding marks leaving a perfectly polished surface.
This compound has a long open time for buffing (meaning that the material stays wet long enough to allow the grit to do it’s job before buffing clean) and it does not leave any kind of a film afterwards.
Quick wipe with a microfiber towel and you’re good to go! Great product and easy to use ;-).
Polarshine 35 is an aggressive polishing compound for removal of sanding scratches from p800 and finer, or for heavily oxidized surfaces; Polarshine compound 35 (coarse) An aggressive polishing compound developed for removing scratches from surfaces such as gel coats, high gloss lacquers and topcoats.
Designed to remove P800 and finer scratches. With a high viscosity formula to minimize splash and splatter. Polarshine polishes to a high gloss using twisted wool or foam polishing pads.
Works better than most. For outstanding results clean buffed area with xylene (xylol) to remove the waxey residue and dead gelcoat that is trapped in the pores of the gelcoat. The residue is white mineral oil or paraffin that is common to most polishes.
Very few solvents including acetone or mineral spirits will dissolve it.
This product did the most amazing job of removing the oxidation from the topsides and hull of my boat! I never knew this existed until I saw an article in a sailing magazine and discovered that it does everything that it says it will do without damaging the gelcoat.
It leaves an credible shine behind. I would buy this again in a heartbeat and strongly recommend it.
Meguiar’s M105 Ultra Cut Compound, revised formula, utilizes new, abrasive technology to quickly remove damage and defects from the paint surface without scouring the finish. The revolutionary abrasives in Meguiar’s M105 Ultra cut Compound are so advanced and milled so perfectly that the polish produces flawless results regardless of how it is applied.
Ultra Cut Compound will produce professional-looking results when applied by hand, random orbital, dual-action or rotary machine polisher. The ultra fine, ultra hard abrasives used in Ultra Cut Compound do not degrade in quality or cut during application.
This polish can remove up to 1200 grit scratches, sanding marks, pig tails, acid rain damage, scuffing, and bird bomb etching effortlessly while finishing to a very low swirl, high gloss. The non-diminishing abrasives, used in M105 Ultra Cut Compound are fine tuned to remove microscopic amounts of paint quickly yet still leave the paint glossy, shiny, and haze-free.
The revised formula of M105 Ultra Cut Compound can remove paint defects by hand or with a random orbital or dual-action machine that previously required a high-speed, rotary polisher. When working with Ultra Cut Compound, you should polish until the paint defects are removed and then stop.
Used to polish a 35-yr-old, poor repaint of a 71 Corvette to try to polish out imperfections and bring out some gloss. It did not cut very well, as multiple passes did not achieve the desired results.
However, I was using a dual action random orbit polisher, and a relatively soft foam pad. I started over with Meguiar’s M110, which is optimized for random orbit polishers (this product is M105, an older product).
I also used a Meguiar’s DMC5 microfiber pad instead of foam. This combination worked much more effectively on the Corvette, but the pad may have been a factor. I did not go back and test the M105 with the DMC5 pad.
This is an excellent compound which is considerably better than any I had previously tried. To be clear, I didn’t use this on a painted car body, I used it when re-finishing guitars! It works really well for hand or light machine polishing and the end result is flawless.
The only thing I would add is that it does have quite a short working time so probably best on small areas.
Excellent product. Took out the fine scratches in the Acrylic varnish on my beloved guitars, bringing them back to pristine factory finish shine. Needs a bit of elbow grease but works fantastically well.
Seems a little expensive for a small bottle but a small amount goes a long way, so great product, great value.
All four grits are included in one kit. You can clean, polish, and buff out any metallic and some plastic items. If one grit isnt working well you can just grab a different one. I’m very happy with my purchase and will buy again.
This set of polishing compounds contains the four basic compounds to make any metal surface look new. An excellent product that’s been around many years. The price for this item is the best price anywhere.
This four piece kit is worth it, even though I usually need only three of them. They last a long time with my sisal, spiral sewn, and loose buffing wheels, and they came unbroken, never the case from Amazon.
If you open the back carefully, the case is reusable and it comes with useful instructions on back.

I used the Green on Stainless Steel and Aluminium as a final polish with semi firm/loose wheel. I’ve used other brand Green compounds with great results. Results I didn’t see with the HF brand. It tended to remove the high sheen already achieved with the HF Grey compound.
In fact dulled it out and I had to go back over things with the HF Grey to get the color and high sheen back. And yes, I used a new clean wheel for this compound. I’m pretty anal about my tools. I have different wheels for each compound, by brand and color and metal it’s used on.
I’m going to give it one more try using an even softer wheel. I don’t have confidence it’ll make a difference, as the same firmness wheels used with the other brand Green which produced great results.
With the HF Green it did not. Hence the 3 Star rating at this point, and, I can’t say I’d recommend this particular color [HF Green] compound at this point.

Reviews From Real Customers
This is heavy duty compound. You may need to use a fine polish or swirl away to get the desired look. On black finishes I use Turtle Wax Jet Black for the finish. This is after the rubbing compound. Its a great product, but use it lightly.
As it says Heavy Duty. You can use it on auto, bike, boat finishes. This time I am using it on fiberglass gel coated bathtub finishes. When using a electric buffer do it light.
High-performance compound removes heavy scratches, swirls, stains and oxidation Outstanding for removing paint transfer from parking lot scrapes Finishes clean and smooth for a beautiful, like-new gloss Even heavy scratches, swirls and oxidation in your car’s clear coat are no match for our White Polishing Compound.
Short of getting a new paint job, using this heavy duty polishing compound is the surefire way to restore chalky, faded and scratched paint surfaces. And even though this abrasive, aggressive polishing compound is tough on paint imperfections, it’s easy on your clear coat and car wax.
Developed to be safe for car finishes, even when used by first timers, our White Polishing Compound will not burn into your clear coat like many other aggressive compounds.
I had great experience with Turtle Wax previously. So I recently bought another product from the same brand. Both the liquid wax that I had previously and the cream version gave a beautiful shine! And, the products are safe on my sensitive skin.
Good stuff, works well on automotive needs and lacquer guitar finishes. Used it since the early eighties. Getting a bit expensive, but so is everything else. Worth getting.
Used this product with Simoniz Platinum Compound Pad to treat sanded (2000 grain) area, the first polish shows shinny surface and the second polish removed all deeper sanded scratches. Didn’t compare with other brands but why pay more if it works.

This handy blue polishing compound is a great item for hobbyists, jewelers, automotive professionals and more! Use with loose-leaf buff 1/4 Lb. stick No waxy residue Specification: Color Blue Material Compound.
This stuff seams dry and hard out of the tube but it still works great. I bought the little Harbor freight dremel rotary tool kit for $9. 99 to go along with this. Use the little white wool buffing wheel in the dremel.
Turn it on and let the high speed do the work as you let it gently brush against the compound stick and it will embed into the wool. I tried this out on my wifes rhodium plated wedding ring and it buffed away the fine scratches in a couple seconds.
The white buffing wheel will turn black but that is normal when polishing metals. I cant imagine I would use this whole stick up in 1 lifetime so the money is definitely worth to me. I would recommend storing it in a sealed zip lock bag to prevent further drying out.
Maybe throw in a wet cotton ball and see if it re hydrates a little.

This professional polishing compound erases scratches, swirls and oxidation while giving dull paintwork a glassy polish, all using the same powerful formula. This professional polishing compound erases scratches, swirls and oxidation while giving dull paintwork a glassy polish, all using the same powerful formula.
The polishing compound performs both as a heavy-duty compound or a light polish depending on which pad you use, so you get both in one product. 1 & Done is infused with aluminium oxide abrasives for up to 1000 grit cutting strength.
The precision polishing platelets glide gently over your car exterior to prevent additional scratches and swirls. Suitable both for professional detailers and beginners, the polishing compound is all you need to elevate your paint correction game.
Although this is a product more targeted at DA polishing, I have used it manually. The product needs good amount to be usable (more than on a DA you would use) and is not that easy to remove. I liked how you can see the product when working on it (sort of a matte trail).
However, it is good on swirl marks and leaves a lovely slick and glowing shine after use. You get rewarded. Definitely, a product to have. A little expansive compared to the very good Meguire’s competitor “Ultimate Restorer”.
I bought this a couple of weeks ago. I am a retired detailer and have used all of the big brand names in the past. I was really impressed with the results I got using this on a 1993 BMW. It cuts nicely, removing swirls easily with very little effort and no dust.
Excellent product! I used this with a Rupes Bigfoot and medium pad – freshened the paintwork up lovely and removed all swirl marks and minor scratches. With a coarser pad, I have no doubts it will take serious defects out, or at the very least heavily minimise them.
Pads were easy to clean afterwards, removal and buffing off product after polishing was easy with microfibre towels as directed.
Best Polishing Compound For Epoxy Resin Buying Guides
Introduction
A polishing compound is a substance used to smooth and shine surfaces. There are many different types of polishing compounds, each designed for use on different materials. Some polishing compounds are designed for use on metals, while others are designed for use on plastics or even glass.
Polishing compounds typically contain abrasives, which are particles that smooth the surface by sanding it down. The type of abrasive in a polishing compound will determine how effective it is at polishing a particular material.
The benefits of using polishing compound for epoxy resin
Some benefits of using polishing compound for epoxy resin include achieving a high-gloss finish, removing surface imperfections, and increasing the durability and lifespan of the resin. Polishing compound can also be used to restore the clarity of epoxy resin that has become dull or hazy over time.
The drawbacks of using polishing compound for epoxy resin
There are several drawbacks to using polishing compound on epoxy resin. First, it can be difficult to remove all of the compound from the surface of the resin, which can lead to a dull or streaky finish.
Second, if the compound is not removed completely, it can interact with the curing process of the resin and cause the finished product to be brittle. Finally, polishing compound can be expensive and time-consuming to use, and it is important to follow the manufacturer’s directions carefully to avoid damaging the resin.
How to use polishing compound for epoxy resin
When polishing epoxy resin, you will need to use a polishing compound specifically designed for use with this material. You will also need to use a polishing tool, such as a felt wheel or a soft cloth.
To begin, apply a small amount of polishing compound to the surface of the epoxy resin. Then, using a circular motion, work the compound into the resin until the desired level of shine is achieved. Finally, remove any excess compound with a clean cloth.
Tips for using polishing compound for epoxy resin
Before using polishing compound, it is important to sand the epoxy resin to create a smooth surface. To do this, start with a lower grit sandpaper and work your way up to a higher grit. Once the surface is smooth, apply the polishing compound to a clean cloth and rub it into the resin in a circular motion.
Finish by buffing the resin with a clean, soft cloth.
Conclusion
Polishing compounds for epoxy resins are generally designed to be used with a rotary tool, such as a drill or buffer. The compound is applied to the surface of the epoxy resin, and the rotary tool is used to buff the compound into the surface.
The compound will usually have a grit size that will determine how aggressive the polishing will be. A finer grit size will produce a more polished surface, while a coarser grit size will remove more material and produce a more matte finish.
