20 Best Moisturizers For Low Porosity Hair (2023 Updated)

About a month ago, I brought myself some SheaMoisture Low Porosity Detangler Grapeseed & Tea Tree Oils Leave-in Detangler, and yessss, it works GREAT! The most crucial characteristic of low porosity hair is moisture resistance; that’s my hair all the way.

Shea moisture is a brand used in our household daily, and we love it. Their products cater to many different textures, and I love the results I get from their SheaMoisture Low Porosity Detangler. The SheaMoisture Low Porosity Detangler works excellent with curly, coily hair & moisture resistance hair.

The SheaMoisture Baobab & Tea Tree Oils Low Porosity Protein-Free Leave-In Detangler conditions your hair while resolving knots for easy comb through. It worked so well on my hair that I had to try it on my daughter’s hair, and again, it detangled her hair and left it moist and soft.

Her hair is very curly and always hard to detangle. All ingredients are natural and free of common chemicals and other toxins. The first ingredient is glycerin which naturally pulls moisture from the hair-to-hair strands for naturally low porosity.

Very easy to use, apply to clean, damp hair and comb through before long, your hair will become detangled and smelling good!. It’s an excellent investment, especially if you have curly hair like me!.

I recently came across an article about hair porosity, which I’d never heard of, and discovered that I have low porosity hair. All my life, I’d been using the wrong type of products on my hair. I did a lot of research and this product always came up in the discussion.

So, the shampoo and leave in hoping it would do something for my dry gummy feeling hair. Oh. My. Goodness. My hair has never felt better! I’ve tried other products since discovering ya’ll, but I always have to rewash with your products.

Please don’t discontinue. Now I’m just trying to figure out how to moisturize my scalp without making my hair oily.

The products have an incredible smell. My entire family loves them. I particularly love the low porosity shampoo but the leave in detangler had a nice slip to it and beautiful smell. I have extremely low porosity hair so sometimes even the low porosity leave in makes my hair feel weighed down.

That said, it does leaves my hair beautifully soft. That is a big struggle with low porosity hair since the hair shaft is always too tightly closed to get adequate moisture. Overall I’m very satisfied with the products and will be lying again.

Unfortunately, our local Target stopped carrying this lotion. I’m happy it’s still available online. This is an excellent product from the Shea Moisture brand. It is perfect if you are looking for a lightweight styling lotion that will not weigh down your strands.

I sometimes will use it during the summer months when I’m not looking for a heavy amount of coverage. My son loves this lotion and it’s the only one he will use on his curls. I prefer to stick to products both me and my boys can use.

This one is a keeper. My favorite part is a little goes a long way with this product. Just a little water and a small amount of the lotion and your good to go at least for a day or two. It does not seem to hold the curls for too long after the second day.

But that is to be expected with such a lightweight product. If your looking for a longer hold, I recommend the leave in conditioner. This lotion is a staple at my house and I will keep ordering it as long as its available.

Love love love!!! I use the straighter every single day, 2x a day. Before using the product, I was applying Tressame heat protection. It left my hair was very brittle, stiff, split ends and notice it wasn’tthe product I needed.

I decided to chop off my hair, (12inches off), to start fresh. I saw the hype of the Sheamoisture products, so I bought this one back in April 2022. 4 months later, I see the usual hair growth, but I also have noticed that hair ends stayed thick, shines, healthy and NO split ends! I apply a quater size after im done wetting my hair, but only to the ends as if it was mousse.

If I apply above the ends, it leaves my hair feeling lotioned up when it drys. So just the ends is enough.

I’ve been using this line of Shea Moisture for years. My hair has always loved the JBCO products and now that my hair is short again, I’ve been using the styling lotion to style/moisturize my hair and it’s a winner.

It’s very creamy and a little goes a long way with my short hair. The scent has always reminded me of playdoh, so if you aren’t a fan of smell, this probably isn’t for you. This product kinda reminds of me a cream to gel consistency.

It isn’t crunchy like a gel when it dries, but it does give a light hold on my tiny coils. It’s a great product that’s affordable and I will definitely continue to purchase this. It’s a staple 💛💛💛.

This is really a disappointment even given the price. It made my just-washed hair look greasy and horrible even though I applied it to my damp hair before a blow-dry. I gave it a second chance by using very little and applying it evenly with great care, and it turned out to be just ok.

My hair still looked a bit stiff and even a little frizzy. It’s neither moisturising nor light. Won’t buy it again.

First off, let me suggest that anyone using this start with the SMALLEST amount possible. A little goes a long way, trust me. I have tried another KeraCare product and loved it. I am not a bit disapponted with this one.

I have very dry hair, and I happen to be trying to revert back to natural after using a temporary straightening system. I’ve been washing my hair with a Castile soap and oil recipe to clarify my hair (and get rid of that temp system).

EA clarifying shampoo can be drying – especially when using it a lot like I have been. When I put this on my hair, I used way too much and oversaturated it. By “way too much” I mean, just a bit too much.

I didn’t realize how little it would take to nourish and soften my hair. I love it. I’m also glad that it will last a while. If, like me, you over-use this, it will weight the hair down and make it feel heavy with buildup.

Once I rinsed my hair clean, I sectioned my hair into fours and applied just the smallest amounts of the hair milk to each section. I was careful to work with my fingertips to work the product in from root to tip.

That worked out really well. Of course, I applied to my towel-dried hair, then after it dried, I applied a little more product to the ends of my hair and massaged it in. I am very happy with this. I will be getting more of it as needed, and I’ll be checking out other products by the brand.

Since it takes so little of this (even for my dry type of hair), I think that folks with finer hair should be super stingy when applying. I will attach a photo of how much I used on each section of my hair once I figured out how much was too much! Just apply in dabs, then work it through.

10/10 for my curly hair! I was shooketh because I thought it was going to be a lotion texture but it was more like an oil. My hair tends to go dry every free days and because I have super sedative scalp I avoid using any product (I know.

It’s works for me. I don’t recommend my hair just stays dry) used whilst hair drying and was so pleasantly surprised. It gave me a bit of an extra bounce which I’m loving and it helps keep my hair look nicer for longer.

I think some of the reviewers of this product have a flare for the dramatic. Is this product thick? Yes, but not so thick you can’t get it out of the bottle. I have low-porosity hair damaged from years of styling and coloring.

This product works well for my hair. I use a quarter size amount for my thick waist length hair. It locks in the moisture and helps with frizz. Just because it doesn’t work for some just means it isn’t the right product for their hair.

I had received SheaMoisture coupons in the mail celebrating black history month and BLM, so of course I clipped them and headed to target for more hair care products. I definitely needed more of the curl enhancing smoothie made by this company, but also needed one more item to redeem the coupon so picked up this leave-in milk.

I absolutely love the deep conditioner from this line, so I wanted to try the leave in milk. I was nervous about it cause leave ins aren’t moisturizing enough for my very coarse, dense 4a/3c hair. I typically need thicker creams and butters to get the job done.

But this leave in milk is the BOMB! It’s so thick, moisturizing, and smells amazing. I just really loved how quickly this product just absorbed in my hair and made my hair feel silky smooth. I know it’s labeled a “milk” but it’s definitely thicker than a traditional milk, it’s more like a leave in cream.

I really hope this product continues to sell and one day comes in a bigger container like maybe a 12oz or 16oz jar like the JBCO leave in.

This product was introduced to me by a friend. I thought I would try it as I was not too sure about the product but after a while of using it, I am very pleased with it, has it has really stopped my hair from breaking and can see it has volume now.

I bought this on the basis of all the positive reviews. I am so disappointed. I know things don’t work for all hair types, but given what this is made from, and all the people with 4C hair who are raving about it, it should surely have worked on my 3A/B type hair, long with two curl types.

It does absolutely nothing for my hair. Nothing. I washed my hair and used this and a sister product, and the following morning my hair was as dry as anything. Dryer than if I’d just washed and conditioned.

Obviously it must relate to my hair type, as others have raved about it, but I just don’t see why. Will stick to Cantu in future. An unfortunate waste of nearly £30 on products that won’t get used further.

I bought this product around 2 months ago and it is so good. Smells amazing and is the best butter for 4c for sealing in moisture. If you use it with the leave-in conditioner for an LB moisturizing method it works incredibly.

However it is just too expensive. There is not enough in the tub for the insane amount that you pay. I wish this could be better value for money because if you use it as a “daily moisturiser” on thick kinky hair it wont even last you 5 weeks.

5 stars though because the product itself is amazing. Not too heavy but still a great sealant.

I use this as my last step after my hair wash routine. I apply it while my hair is still wet/damp. Majority of the time I’ll scrunch it in. I also only do it on my ends. So far I’ve not noticed it making my hair look greasy when dry, it actually makes my ends look really healthy and hydrated.

And that’s something the ends need as it’s top of your head that gets the most oils. I love this mouse and will continue to use it *forever*!.

So I was looking for my usual moisturizer in the store but couldnt find it but I found this instead. Like the packaging of it. Like the color of the bottle. Looksnice doesn’t look cheap. Love how you can just squeeze it out.

It’s sometimes annoying having to dump your fingers in to get product. The smell is also very pleasant. One of the things I noticed right away, was how moisturized and smooth my hair felt. It was very easy to detangle and I could feel the oil penetrating through my hair.

I think what I was MOST shocked about was how SHINY my hair was after applying it! Omg, it just made my hair come to life. Also like the fact that it’s super cheap. Much cheaper than other natural hair moisturizers.

This can be used on natural and relaxed hair. I’ve only used this one time and I’m already amazed by how good it works. Let’s see how it makes my hair over time.

As I said on my last review, I think I have tried every product in the Cantu range for my caucasian long blonde hair due to this problem I had: During lockdown, for some reason my long dry wavy hair persisted to get into tangles daily, Something about being indoors, working from home – I had a real problem on my hands and had to get my dad to intervene and chop a good section off that was so knotted I had no hope of detangling it.

Anyway, I realised then that I must have abnormally fine but thick hair prone to tangling and a range like Cantu might be the only thing to keep it smooth and untangled. I bought a heap of products in their range, this being one of them.

Their products smell a little strong but leave my hair flossy and shiny. I recommend them to anyone. This one is quite light and I comb it through my damp hair (the ends) and leave it in so it lets my hair dry with a wave and without frizz.

The smell is strong but I don’t mind. You don’t need too much. Because I have dry hair, I get little curls around my head if I put my hair up in a ponytail. This stuff makes them lay flat and instead of my fuzzy curly ‘halo’ it even makes my roots shiny and glossy and my hair looks so well cared for!.

My hair type is wavy but then there’s times where I wake up with straight hair or times where I wake up with curly hair. My baby hairs always curl up if I don’t put them down but the rest of my hair is up to itself I guess lol.

I am a heat trained naturalista with 4c fine, high porosity hair. My hair craves moisture every day. I used to straighten my hair once a week however now that I have this “moisture bomb “ in my hair care arsenal.

First off, I’m glad Walmart lowered the price for this moisturizer. I was purchasing it from Target because the price was lower. This is my favorite hair moisturizer. It actually moisturizes my hair instead of just making it oily.

This product does leave a my hair a little oily, but not too much. It softens it with the moisturizing ingredients and the oil locks the moisture in. My hair stays soft and moisturized for a whole Week without me having to reapply!!! I love it! It smells good too.

It has a really light Shea butter smell.

Before I start my review I would like to say that I have received this product complimentary by Influenster. I love the smell and was so amazed on how well packaged it is. The fragrance bottle will be one that I definite buy again in the future.

It unreal on how the smell is so long lasting however not a super strong overbearing smell.

This is definitely my go-to product on wash days and in between washes. It is so moisturizing and smells amazing! This, paired with the Lemongrass Leave-In, does wonders for moisture retention on my thick 4B/4C hair.

I have 3a hair and this twisting butter is like no other. I have been on a year long search to find leave in product after the product like I had been using for over 15 years was no longer available online or in my area.

I love this. I had been looking over the brand and the line of items offered for a while. I’ve been natural for 2 years and my hair is super coarse, shrinks all the way, and soaks up whatever kind of oil or cream that I put in it.

I’m always trying new products each time it’s time to replenish to find “the one”. I think this is the brand for me. My hair loves it. It smells like vanilla cream. It’s not overpowering. It’s super moisturizing.

The cream is whipped and packaged to perfection. This is a great cream to use for the LOC method! It’s good for twisting because it elongates the hair. I also use this on my daughter’s hair, shes 4 & has the same texture hair as mine and it works just as well on her hair.

I’m definitely sold and plan to invest in more of this item and try others that are offered by the brand.

I have type c low porosity hair. I thought I was 4a because of how lifeless my curls were. YALL. This stuff is the truth! My curls were bouncy and healthy. I was so happy to see how juicy my curls were! It had been years since I’d seen them this hydrated! But of course it’s not just this that worked.

I used warm water through my entire wash day. I shampooed with melanin haircare revitalizing shampoo, conditioned with tgin honey miracle mask with a cap and towel (for warmth) and then the tgin rose water mask (same process 40 minutes each) and finished off with this.

My only complaint was that it smelled like very strong cake frosting.

I have reaches out recently on IG to Mielle organic concerning my 8yo cousin who we struggle to keep her hair down and curly. SHe has a mixture of 3c high and low porosity hair. When we leave her hair out the curl are gone and we have been doing beautiful braided hairstyle on her.

Mielle suggested to use that product plus the leave-in conditioner and do a twist out for her. I kid you not I used those two plus the almond oil, her curls are hydrated and beautiful they last really long.

When she goes to school her friends and teachers are telling her how beautiful her hair is. I can see more confidence on her hair. Because she used to ask to keep her hair straight like her friends hair are straight so she can keep them out.

The product is very moisturizing and rejuvenated my dry hair. It one of the few products that doesn’t leave a white film on my hair and it seems amazing. I’ve been using the product for a while now and everytime I did a braid out with it the results are amazing.

The product make hair have my body and bouncing. It’s not greasy feeling as it light is weight. This my go to to replenish moisture in my along with my h20 in a spray bottle.

This product has filled me with great satisfaction, it is incredible. It leaves my hair soft and silky. It has some very good ingredients for hair. They nourish and give strength from the root. Maui is one of my favorite brands, it is the best on the market.

My hair is long and your products make it look beautiful. In my house we have curly hair so it is very good to have a product that is friendly to our hair that is dry at times and needs a lot of hydration and care.

This product is better suited for very thick, curly, or coily hair that needs moisture and definition. This conditioning lotion works great as a curl definer however if I use too much it weighs down my curls, which is why I’d recommend it for people who want extra length on your hair cause it’ll definitely elongate it.

It will also leave your hair shiny and soft to the touch.

I guess it’s good for the price. It does leave ur hair sticky sometimes if you put too much. The smell is nice and it keeps ur hair from frizzing however u need to wash it a day after. I know most people can’t shower daily because of their hair type so if you use this just know that it’ll cause massive dandruff if you don’t constantly wash your hair.

I’ve had this for about a month now. If I use too much my hair ends up looking greasy. But this product does help tame my frizz issues and works well for braid outs. So in general just start out light-handed, you can always add more gradually- too much could weigh your hair down.

The odor is pretty strong. I suspected as much so I’m happy I went with the smallest size possible. I really can’t express enough how thrilled I am that it’s available in a 2 oz. size!!! It will take me a long time to get through this little jar because of my hair type and because of the smell.

I typically don’t buy products this potent, I always go for odorless, so the size really sold me! You will smell like coconut and sweet things if you use this, guaranteed. My hair is: -type 2a to 2c range, depending on whether I encourage my natural curls but it usually just ends up wavy.

-med to high porosity -thin, though it does grow long no problem, it just doesn’t grown in thickly; thanks genetics.

My hair is somewhere between straight & wavy (which is annoying, I wish it would be one or the other!) it is bra strap length & quite thick. If I leave my hair to dry naturally, it would be a bit dry, but not too bad, it would have frizzy bits and it wouldn’t have a nice wave pattern, it’ll be kinda kinky in places and straight in others.

However, using this, I have noticed when I air-dry my hair, it is more bouncy and has a more defined wave pattern, without being way too curly! It feels so soft and healthy and no frizz at all! HOWEVER, it is sometimes easy to put it way too much and then when it dries it looks kinda greasy.

But maybe that is becuase my hair is both straight and wavy. So the amount I put in for myself, might be different for someone else.

I have wavy hair wanted to see if I could rock curls. Usually my hair does not tend to stay in the curls even after using heat. So I tried to see if I could naturally curl without heat. I used it about 4 times now.

Right after washing my hair I curl them with my fingers and apply the cream and let it air dry. I even braided my slightly damp hair to give it shape and definition and let it air dry. After a few hours when I took it out, it was nice and curly but it only lasted for a day, sadly.

It doesn’t work for on dry hair even though it says you can use it on dry hair. I’m guessing it’s just my hair that’s difficult to deal with but my curls only stay for a day.

This product is complete trash. I have no idea why it’s gotten so many good reviews. I got a big jar of this stuff for my extremely damaged hair (no idea why because I’ve taken such good care of it my whole life) and used it for about two months every night.

Did exactly what the instructions said. All it did was make my hair curl up which is really gross because curls are gross (on me at least) and short hair on girls is ugly. It also made my hair look darker, and dark hair does not suit me whatsoever.

So basically it did everything I didn’t want it to do. This stuff is just a rip-off. One night without it, and my hair was back to it’s previous condition. It was lighter without Cantu which was good, but very frizzy with obvious split ends everywhere.

Not that it was much better with Cantu because this product is nothing but a quick cover-up and makes your hair look gross, curly, darker, and oily.

I’ve used many Leave-in conditioners but this one actually works! The first time I used it the instructions said to apply “generously” of course when I realised how thick and creamy it was I decided to ignore this and apply a little more than I would normally but not by much.

I noticed when I ran my hands under tap that the greasy feel came away before I’d even used soap! So, the second time I used it I applied it liberally. I have long hair and used as directed this time.

By the time it dried I was very surprised that it gave weight to my fine hair and made it bouncy! So I highly recommend this product. I’m in my 70’s and don’t usually leave reviews because they would generally be negative and knowing not everybody has the same experience thought my 2 cents worth wasn’t worth the bother.

Over time I hope to discover that it’s other promise of making my hair “healthier” comes to fruition. I’ll let you know. I don’t usually buy this product but I will in the future.

As a curly African American woman, I have kept the original formula version in my “hair box” for a few years now. I loved the smell and how it gave my hair a slight crunch to hold up a wash n go. I looked up the ingredients in this “new and improved” formula and compared them to the older version.

Beware: the first 6 ingredients are the SAME – including the (cetearyl) ALCOHOL. As we all know, ingredients are listed in order from the highest concentration, so how can this new formula be that much different if the MAIN ingredients are the same (??) Nonetheless, I will give it a try.

What I love about Target, is that they do not hesitate to take back returned hair products that don’t work out for you – opened or not. Anywho, just leaving my 2 cents, in case others are not paying attention to the actual ingredients.

using a wide-tooth comb on damp hair I put this on. Then plaiting into a *two* #Frenchbraid or what celebrities call #boxerbraids and let it dry naturally. Gives a nice light moisturised feel the hair.

I always unscrew the top cap and *Tap* Tap, it right into my hands and rub together. The lid is a bit annoying to open and, squeeze through the product. (But that is just me) 🥺 The smell is a light powdery smell.

Which can be a bit overpowering for some. Personally it’s not a smell I would associate with olive oil, but I do get compliments that my hair smells nice. It Will leave a light weight grease your hands, so I always wash hands after.

To start off I have 4b hair. This product somewhat moisturize my hair for a little bit (for a couple of hours). I have tried the LCO method and the LOC method and it still didn’t leave the moisture in for long (only for a couple hours).

I even tried this on dry hair, if anything this product makes my hair dry and difficult to manage. I wouldn’t recommend this for my hair type, maybe for people with straight hair.

I wear my hair permed and have chronic dry scalp and sensitive skin. This is one of the few oils on the market with 100% coconut oil. I spray a tiny amount (only one spritz, it is very thin oil) on my scalp and comb it through, or spray it onto my fingertips and work it through to my scalp.

I did not like the smell from the start, however after months of using the product the chemical composition must have changed as it smells like mildew. I’ve been smelling a faint mildew scent for a few days and have now realized it’s been my hair.

I asked my husband to smell my hair and he confirmed it did. We went through all the shampoos, towels, hair products I used that day and immediately confirmed it was this serum that must have gone bad.

I bought this product 6 months ago. Upon purchase, I realized that for someone with low density hair I would need to be sparse in my application as the serum has a thick almost sticky texture. It is not a fine oil it is thick.

I don’t know how else to describe it other than to say from a scale of police oil to honey it falls closer to honey (like two notches away from honey). I would use half a pump when applying to the mid to ends of my hair.

Although I didn’t like the smell from the start, it did not smell like mildew. I wanted to give this hair serum a try so I sucked it up and used it anyway, for months. This product didn’t perform as well as other similar products but it also wasn’t the worst I’ve ever used.

I’m now realizing you get what you pay for.

I got this in a Voxbox about a month ago along with the 100% virgin coconut oil shampoo and conditioner. I really wasn’t impressed by the shampoo and conditioner and I think I liked this more, but not much more.

I really tried man. I gave it a month! The only times I ever really liked this was when I mixed it with other products. I tend to “cocktail” products and even when I added this into my “cocktails” I really couldn’t see any difference.

I also tried using it by itself and that did leave my hair shinier than if I hadn’t used anything and it helped my frizz (I get really frizzy hair) but I still needed a detangler or leave in conditioner and another product to get my hair all soft and silky and shiny the way I like.

Unlike the shampoo and conditioner, I am going to keep this in my after shower mix as I like the shine I got. I just wasn’t. wowed. I guess I have enough products already that do the same thing and more so there isn’t anything that would make me want to buy this after I use it up.

This oil makes the hair very smooth and fine, they look and feel very healthy immediately after application. They also shine very nicely and you can’t see the split ends anymore. Top product! Inexpensive.

Leaves hair shiny and smelling great, I’ve always had problems with tangled hair after washing and since using this I don’t have that problem anymore

I had such damaged hair and since I use this oil, my hair feels like new. No split ends, no dryin’ out. It feels light and fresh, thank you very much.

I loved the old low-porosity line that was discontinued, but this new improved low-porosity line is even better! The scent is still the same or very similar, which I’m glad because it smells AMAZING! My favorite scent of any products I use! The ingredients are superior and the formulation is perfection for us low-porosity curlies! My curls love this line & I’ve been obsessed from the very first use! So happy you guys listened to your customers reviews and released this.

Now PLEASE make some body products with THIS SCENT so I can smell like it all the time! Thank you, thank you!.

I’ve tried other hair conditioners and never felt what I feel with this one it’s absolutely amazing. It it very light on my hair and has kept my hair feeling very hydrated. We have kids our selves with curly hair which is also why we went and tried product out on all our messy hair lol.

After using it our hair was shiny, soft and a lot less messy. I started feeling a very clean feeling. It’s smell interesting more of a natural smell. I would definitely recommend to everyone with frizzy hair and want a clean feel and hydrated feeling.

This is some truly marvelous stuff! It leaves my hair feeling softer than silk. It doesn’t have a true bitter consistency to it at all, but instead more of a creamy textured. It rinses clea li out of my hair without any problems.

This product was reformulated and it now contains Alcohol listed at the bottom of the ingredient listing. The alcohol in this product doesn’t affect my hair in any way, as it is honestly lie it isn’t even in there at all.

This product is super moisturizing and has great slip and is super conditioning and that’s even with it without heat added to it. No, this isn’t an all natural product, but as long as it provides major benefits to my hair, then that’s what matters most to me.

Oh, and this product has an absolutely amazing vanilla bean scent it that. It’s not overpowering and doesn’t smell fake at all. It truly smells Judy like real vanilla beans, which I am such a super huge fan of the smell of in every single way! Get it ! Get it! Get it!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊.

Lets talk about he outside in on the Maui Moiture Smooth Repair Vanilla Bean Shampoo. The shape of the bottle is just so convenient, you can store this so easy in a cabinet without it falling over or taking up a crazy amount of space.

The cap is easy to open to access the shampoo in the shower. Now the inside. When you open the bottle and take that first sniff you will be in love with the smell. It is just the right amount of vanilla bean to make this perfect and not overwhelming.

The consistancy of the shampoo is also perfect, a little goes a long way. It lathers amazing and so smooth. It also rinces easy out of my hair and my hair really does feel clean once it is rinced and doesn’t feel like there is any residue or product left in my hair.

Once my hair is dry I do see that my frizz has been tamed and my hair is nice and soft. I’m very happy with the results of this shampoo and would recommend other try it if you find you have too much frizz or your hair isn’t as smooth and soft and you would like it to be.

The Vanilla Bean Butter is everything I’ve ever wanted in a hair product. I have type 4 hair (a lot of A, a little bit of B, and a dash of C. I think I have a little 3C in there too) and this works wonders! I know this is supposed to be a treatment mask for straight hair, but it works for coarser hair as a leave in! My hair’s needy and LOVES super thick products like this one.

I use this in conjunction w/ the Maui Moisture Curl Quench Curl Smoothie (which happens to be the best non-gel curl defining product I’ve ever used) as my cream in the LCO method and it just latches onto my hair w/o any hassle.

It smooths and defrizzes my hair while at the same time defines my curls even more. Paired w/ the Curl Smoothie, it leaves my hair shiny, soft, curly, and moisturized for DAYS (not to mention the smell is absolutely DIVINE.

It has a heavenly vanilla scent that’s not overbearing in the slightest). Plus it mends my ends, minimizing breakage at wash day. Words can’t express how much the butter & the smoothie has saved my hair.

My burdensome quest to find the right products is finally over! These are the only two stylers I need & I’ll be buying them from Walgreens (which almost always has Maui Moisture BOGO 50% like CVS) from now on as long as they don’t change the formula.
