Best Carpal Tunnel Wrist Brace (2023 Updated)

Where do I begin?I purchased 2 for both my hands. My tendonitis decided it was time to mutate into full blown carpal tunnel. My hands really needed support and the pain refused to cease in my wrist as well as up my arms.

The brace did nothing to aid in reducing my wrist pain. First of all the hole where the thumb goes through is trash. How is it that the manufacturer produced a right hand brace with a hole too small to insert the thumb and a left hand because that is too big to give any support.

I sent the seller a message about my dilemma and to the sellers credit s/he immediately sent a new order to replace the defective braces. But where credit is taken away is when the seller sent me the same piece of garbage, again! It did not fit my thumb like it should have.

The hole was so small my thumb could barely fit. Secondly, the support barely hits an inch or two above the wrist. There was no support and it did nothing to stabilize my wrist. Lastly, there is little hand support to give my wrist any rest.

My hand had complete range of motion in the brace. The point of a brace is to immobilize the localized area and allow it to heal/reduce inflammation. It’s meant for its function not for fashion. Clearly, its capabilities were a huge let down.

And so, I bid it adieu. It’s now currently sitting in a landfill befriending other pieces of trash.

I recently started a new job that requires constant lifting up to 50lbs. My wrists were taking a beating. I purchased a brace for each arm and was amazed at their comfort and added support. My wrist pain all but disappeared.

It’s just a shame that someone told them from my station, but that just means I get to buy them again!.

Second one I’ve purchased. First one lasted a couple years. Aside from the horrible velcro at the end the straps my first one functioned as it should. Just received my second one and after one day of use the stitching is already coming apart at the thumb.

On further inspection it was clear the seams will and already have begun to pull apart. Obviously there’s no quality control taking place at Futuro. Very disappointed. This is good design but poor stitching will be its’ demise.

Along with the lack of proper velcro to attach the strap tabs, the stitching is the last straw for me. I won’t be buying another as I don’t feel confident the new one will last as long as my first.

This product works for the purpose, but I don’t see it lasting more than a couple of weeks. I bought this brace to replace my more “sturdy” brace from my doctor after a wrist fracture. I wanted something that my wrist wouldn’t bend with but my fingers could move.

Overall it does that job. But as other reviewers mention, the seams by the thumb started coming loose within the first day. The Velcro is decent but after putting/removing gloves at work, it doesn’t hold very well and unvelcros every time I take my glove off.

Overall, did this product serve its purpose? Yes. Is it something that I would recommend? Not so much. 2 weeks use and it could probably go into the garbage now.

After many, many years of sports, stunts, and all around beating myself up, I developed Scapholunate Advanced Collapse in both wrists. Pain med prescriptions and no guarantee surgery were my only options, which I declined.

So I tried countless numbers of supports and braces, and thankfully, finally found the Future Compression Stabilizing Wrist Brace. It has allowed me to workout, ride my bicycle, do physical work, etc.

now, with very limited pain. Love this product, but I have been having difficulty finding it in retail stores (I try to keep at least three pair available at all times – home, in my car, and in my company truck).

Please tell me you have NOT discontiunued it.

I bought this wrist support because this is a 3M product. I believe buying items made in the US. I never expected that the Velcro/ hook and loop tape would be the first component to wear out or not function correctly.

For the first three months this support as compression really did the job and stabilized my hand and wrist. The brace appeared to be a fantastic product. The aluminum stabilizer bar fit just right. I found it easy to hand wash and it dried quickly but after about three months the hook part of the tape would not keep the wrist brace stable or in place.

I looked up info on line and read that the hook part of the tape could be full of threads, etc. Not if you hand wash it. I attached rubber bands on the brace to keep the hook and loop tape in place to secure the brace but it stopped the blood circulation in my right hand.

The plastic hooks are not strong enough to make the right connection and provide compression and stability. And if compression and stability is not attainable from this device then the device has failed.

My doc suspected the excruciating pain/ numbness that was waking me up every night might be carpal tunnel syndrome. She ordered a slightly uncomfortable but worthwhile test called EMG to confirm (it did, and showed the severity in each wrist).

She suggested I start with a wrist splint for nighttime only. If that didn’t work, then I could try injections, followed by surgery as a last resort. I bought this Futuro brand nighttime wrist splint for my other wrist 2 months ago, a few weeks after buying the 1st one (a very comparable, slightly less expensive drugstore brand), and wow—ALL pain has disappeared in both wrists; finally, I am able to sleep without waking multiple times in pain! The only major difference between the Futuro and the drugstore brand that I can see (and it’s a good one) is the number of adjustable straps for a better fit (generic has 2 vs.

Futuro’s 3). See photos. One reviewer mentioned the brace didn’t fit their XL wrist. The directions do say to MEASURE your wrist first. Both braces that I bought—the blue Futuro and the black drugstore brand—are reversible, so they can be worn on either hand.

I do not know whether there are choices in size, but I did measure my wrist before buying to make sure. I recommend removing the brace for nighttime bathroom trips, both for mobility and cleanliness.

I did hand-wash it, and removed the metal support from inside the pocket. But, when I went to reinsert it after I let it air-dry as recommended, I forgot which way it is supposed to be inserted. I think I’ve figured it out from looking at several websites and a video, but would love a response from a Futuro representative to confirm my guess, and highly recommend the company include instructions with each purchase.

It’d be helpful, too, to see a demonstration on the website and on the box, showing how to use the metal piece, as well as answering the question I saw posted by others as to whether or not the metal stabilizer is meant to be flexible or should remain rigid.

That way, others wouldn’t have to hunt as I did for the answer.

I’ve been using these for 2 nights so far. First nights of real sleep in a long time. What a relief!! Have been waking up with numb hands for a few weeks (carpal tunnel issues), took a while to figure out what was going on, but once I did these things were exactly the right answer.

They are bulky and a little silly, but they do exactly what they are meant to do. Very comfortable support, soft material, and no “scratch points” that cause irritation. The soft cushion is very comfortable.

Hands are unusable when you have them on so make sure you’re done for the day when you put them on!!.

Works great! I have been struggling recently with carpal tunnel symptoms. It’s been affecting my sleep and bothering me throughout the day. I read the reviews on this product and decided to give it a try and I was not disappointed.

Since using this product I’ve been able to sleep much better at night and I rarely have symptoms during the day. It does fit tight, but the compression is important. It took me a few nights to adjust but it’s well worth the adjustment.

Also the price was definitely reasonable.

First of all, they do slow down the flexing of the wrist. However that is the only good thing I can say about them. Sure, you can still move them but the resistance is there. But what is bad is. they don’t fit well.

parts of it are too big, parts of it are too small. They are uncomfortable as heck. Unless you are of a build that is ultra-skinny with skinny forearms. I mean really skinny. Don’t bother getting them.

I wasted my money. would cost me to send them back. and the worst of it – you can’t find them for the left hand. so what is the point of saving one arm without the other? I’m not sure where the 5 star reviews came from other than from the build.

I have used these for 20 years!! They are definitely worth the expense and I own several pairs of these. I type for a living and am in my 60s now. I have not had any pain in my wrists or in my fingers while wearing these gloves.

The braces inside keep the integrity straight. I would buy them once every 6 months now just to have a backup pair. After about 5 years of constant use, they tend to not be as “taut” but they are comfortable to use while I sleep.

Then I use the next pair that are tight and fitted for my typing.

It has helped me. The stationary wrist rests did not work and caused me more pain. As the glove moves as my hand does it provides much better consistent support. I wear it daily. A little snug at first but it loosens up and is comfortable.

Has helped alot.

I have tried so many wrist braces, but I run hot and they are all SO HOT and uncomfortable I just wanna rip them off. This brace is absolutely perfect for me! No velcro, I love the snaps, highly adjustable, so comfy, gives more support than other traditional wrist braces I’ve tried and the low profile with so many openings is awesome.

I’m able to wear it all day and I can function normally with it on with minimal discomfort. However I wouldn’t purchase it for sleeping as it will not stay on. The rubber on the palm is tatting to separate after only a month though so that is my reason for 4 stars.

In every other way I would rate it 5 stars and the way the rubber is separating is minimal and does not affect function as the inner liner is behind it but it does make me doubt the durability of the product.

Overall I’m very happy and I highly recommend. I will definitely be purchasing another when needed.

This is a well-made brace that arrived very quickly. Unfortunately it is a little big for my hand and does not quite address the ulnar nerve issues I am having. I am keeping it in hopes that I might be able to use it as I improve.

It was the only brace that I could find that left the outside of my wrist and arm uncovered while still limiting movement, which is why I bought it.

The brace fits nicely and is comfortable. I love how lightweight they are. I would have given them 5 stars if it was just for fit and comfort. Unfortunately, since the inside cushion is attached with stick-on velcro, the velcro has already started to come loose.

A bit disappointing, as I have had the braces for a week and wear them during the night only (8 hours roughly).

This has got to be the most comfortable wrist brace ever! Having had Dequarvains Syndrome and release surgery in both wrists. I have tried every brace out there from the most expensive tip the cheapest! This brace is awesome, unbelievably padded and cushioned but has excellent support within removable and adjustable palmar supports including in the thumb spica abs not to mention that the brace has breathable air holes! I would recommend to anyone dealing within DeQuarvains or Carpal Tunnel.

Worth every penny!.

I bought the first generation in grey and the velcro strips separated. I bought the second generation in black. The velcro strips did not separate and you could use a computer mouse and be comfortable.

Both had a metal strip that was very important to stabilize your hand if you have arthritis. I was so satisfied with the second generation that I ordered two pairs of braces and found out that they were the third generation.

They were uncomfortable holding a mouse and had a smaller velcro strip that separated. I spent $60. 00 on these replacements. I called the company and they said they would replace them with the ones that work for me.

I’ve been wearing the wrist brace I purchased for a week now due to severe carpal tunnel. The brace is comfortable and gives the support my wrist needs. Works great. The one downside is the thumb hole is not reinforced like the rest of the outer edges of the guard and is, therefore splitting at the lower outer edge of garment.

Though comfortablle to wear, there must be a way to reinforce the only raw edge left unbound. Because of this “defect” I’m not sure how long it will last before the split/year gets too big and has to be replaced.

Otherwise, a very good product.

This is the first wrist brace I have used, so I cannot say from first-hand experience how this compares to other versions elsewhere. However, I ordered it because it looked more attractive (more streamlined) than versions I saw at the drugstore.

I am an average-sized woman so my wrists are on the smaller side. I do find that I have to cinch the velcro very tight to get the brace to fit. My biggest complaint, though, is that the brace support bar does not seem to line up with the design of my wrist.

It sits too far into the palm of my hand – the place where it has a bend does not stay at the heel of my palm, but it creeps up closer to my palm, so I have to keep pulling at the end that is on my arm to tug it back down to where it is comfortable.

Also, I can see that after about 2 weeks of use, the velcro is ripping up the neoprene and so over time it will develop a very bad frayed texture in those areas where the velcro constantly attaches. This probably won’t last me for a long time, but perhaps it will help in the short-term to alleviate my wrist pain.

I’ve had issues with carpal tunnel and tendonitis in my hands for years. This is seriously the most comfortable brace I’ve ever owned. Wish I’d gotten one years ago.

Pretty comfortable wrist brace, would be improved by a 2nd piece of metal or similar to stablise the upper side of the wrist. I have used two other braces in the past so know now that the best stabilisation comes from the rigid support on the upper and underside of the wrist for my carpal tunnel.

The McDavid model is made of the best feeling material of any brace I’ve used. It is warm, which I like, but if you can’t stand extra heat this might not be the best choice. This would be a great brace for anyone using during waking hours as it gives great movement of the fingers so you can get stuff done.

A very sturdy, comfortable and supportive wrist brace. I have nerve damage to my wrist and my previous brace was not alleviating anything anymore. After wearing this brace for barely a day my pain and discomfort was greatly reduced and by the next day my wrist was fine again.

Strongly recommend giving this a try.

A very quality product. I have very small hands and find the thumb hole is snug on me (perhaps because I’m wrapping it so tight) and found trying to wear it at night a little uncomfortable. Very very comfortable during the day, changes the position I can use my mouse with, so some adjusting but that’s the point! Very happy with the purchase overall.

I’ve used these braces for over 4 years and swear by them. I have recurring pain from old injuries. My hands are long but thin. My palm measures 3 inches wide at the center and is 3 & 3/4 inches from wrist to the base of my middle finger and my wrist is 2 inches across, though you can easily wear this brace if your hand is smaller or even bigger than mine.

One brace (I have more issues with my left wrist therefore I’ve worn that a lot more) has lasted through several years of agricultural work, weight lifting, and college and is still going strong. To be fair, I do wear an elastic bandage for additional padding (particularly for the webbing between my thumb and index finger) when engaged in strenuous manual labor.

I still wear it when doing yard work, painting, etc. I only got a new one so I can have a nice-looking one to wear out in public. I’ve tried on every other brace I’ve come across and this is the only one that’s actually comfortable for me.

If you have to wear one with any regularity and need stabilization, not just compression, try this one.

I fractured my wrist, had surgical repair. The surgeon provided the Ossur brace to use following surgery as a reminder to not use the wrist to handle more than 5 pounds. The brace did exactly what it was supposed to do.

3 months after the surgery, I neede. D t use the brace again, to restrict movement. I wanted to get a replacement, which I did, at an amazingly low price. Once the new brace arrived(identical type the doctor used) I then cleaned the Oder brace.

It washed up just like new. I am happy to have 2 of them to use, while I continue healing.

Great value for money. Does the job as advertised. Fit is excellent after adjustment. Slight problem adjusting as the fasteners are very strong and quite difficult to change especially if you have difficulty with your fingers.

Once adjusted I have found you only need to loosen the top and wrist ones to wear it. I have already noticed an improvement in my carpal tunnel problems, so very pleased.

I bought a set of these in the hopes they would hold my Wrist & hand in one spot. Well, they almost succeeded. They are ONE FORM , My Hands are rather Long and fairly large. While fitting the Heal of the Palm fit where it should ? There is a considerable amount of chaffing on the top of the Hand.

And. The wrist portion was much too short and being a semi solid type? There was little to no room for adjustment here. I tried wrapping an “ACE “, wrap around it afterwards. To no avail I am sad to say.

I was so hoping these would hold like a glove. They have the right idea here. I believe some re thinking and design help is in order. I am not sure what will be required, all I know ? Is these are NOT a Good Fit for EVERYONE.

Be prepared to return these if You do purchase. I hope this helps.

This is my second brace from the Orthoshop. The first one was damaged and was immediately replaced. This brace is the same brand that I received in my doctors office. However, this one is more stylish.

It is comfortable.

these things arrived quickly. I have carpal tunnel in both hands and have to sleep in braces. these fit pretty snugly and they have stayed on every night for several weeks now without coming undone or any other problem.

my old ones would come undone unless I was sleeping in long sleeves. they seem to be of a higher quality than the same product I have ordered and received in the past. no loose threads or poor stitching.

the spoons are staying in and so far I am very pleased. I toss and turn a lot so I am probably harder on these than most people would be, but they have been doing a fantastic job.

This was one of the WORST items I had purchased on eBay in quite a while!! Talk about cheat made & half assembled!! The only strap that actually works as it should is the center strap. The top and bottom straps , that are the most important to help secure this brace to your wrist do Not even function!! There is little to Nearly no velcro to attach to except for a very very tiny piece on the side that would not even hold onto itself with out any type of pressure applied!!! Extremely Disappointed!! These do nothing for any type of wrist support, so don’t waist your money!!!!! I sure wish I had not!!!.

Im a woman with small hands and wrists. The product fits well, maybe slightly big, but if I tighten the straps all the way, theres no isso. Would fit very well for medium or large, I believe, but may have a slight issue with the thumb hole.

Its perfect for me though. The straps are more than enough long, so much I cut mine to size. They do each have a metal support that can be removed.

I’ve been suffering from carpal tunnel syndrome for a long time, to the point that I couldn’t get a good night of sleep from waking up with pain, burning or tingling sensation. This support brace made these stop and I finally could sleep.

Sure, it is not comfortable sleeping with it at first, but one gets used to it. After using it for a couple of months, I can now sleep without it most nights and only put it on if I have been specially demanding of my hands that day.

I am also glad that the hard piece is made of metal, not plastic. It is a plus that this is not made in China as well. Now, I just wish Doc Ortho were better at deliveries. Delivery was extremely slow.

I kept receiving emails saying that my delivery was delayed, only to find that they did have the product in stock and were waiting for a “shipping confirmation” from me. Why would you ask for a shipping confirmation if the client has indeed placed the order?.

I am a lymphedema therapist who works hard to instruct patients in donning and doffing their own garments. We ordered this for our collection of equipment because we’ve had many recent patients with issues doffing their compression garments.

We were having patients use extended shoe horns somewhat successfully but with limits. This is a good device as it is angled more appropriately for doffing a sock and gives a lever effect. Also the ledge on the back side is super helpful as it gathers and holds the fabric as the garment slides down the leg and over the heel.

The shoe horn just couldn’t do that (nor does it have the angle for leverage). Patients have noted that it makes doffing easier. Still need some strength and patience but overall a functional tool for many.

Love the support glove, but find the wrist wrap a big cumbersome. Thanks.

I bought the wrist supports to alleviate symptoms of carpel tunnel syndrome, but was worried that they would be uncomfortable to wear at night. In fact, they have been very comfortable and I haven’t noticed that I’m wearing them.

The supports are of very good quality and have alleviated my carpal tunnel symproms. I thoroughly recommend them.

I sprained my wrist doing heavy placement work, and needed a splint for extra support and to help relaxation and healing whilst continuing to use it normally. The splint was good in immobilising my wrist in all directions, and the metal insert in the palm provided added strength to my hand.

But it was not really comfortable to wear as it didn’t fit well. Taking the fitting measurements from around the wrist area doesn’t account for the width of forearm, and even with 3 Velcro tabs down the arm, and one across the thumb, the splint was not snug fitting.

But having said all of that, it did its job as a good initial emergency splint for a sprained wrist.
