I have a small town repair shop as a hobby/ second job. I got this about 6 months ago so i figure I’ve had enough time to play with it to write a decent review. This welder leads the pack in multi processes by a mile.
I’ve compared this with the ESAB rebel and the Lincoln 210 mp and they don’t stand a chance. The arc stability is better then some of the bigger 200 300 series migs that I’ve used! Yes the price tag is a little high, but the machine is just about bullet proof.
The only Con that I can find is that there is not a cart made for it anywhere on the market, at least that I cant locate. I’ve had to make my own out of an old wheel chair. It works but not nearly as efficient as a regular shop cart.
Doesn’t work. And the company doesn’t do anything to get me a replacement, they can’t even get me a returning label to return and get my money back. I have a $4000 machine sitting in my shop doing nothing.

Bough this to pull a major dent in the side of my sons pick up truck from a fender bender. I have done body work as a hobby for a long time and have used conventional dent pullers in the past. This tool was incredible and the puller that came with it worked like a dream.

This welder has an amazing amount of power packed in a small package. I have only used it plugged into 230v. I have not tried the adapter. It runs a steady arc with 7018. It is a little hard to get the arc started.
It handles 3/32″ and 1/8″ rods with no problem. The only drawback that I have seen is the electrode holder. It is almost worthless. I replaced it with a hobart immediately after trying it and all is well now.
I received the welder yesterday and had several projects waiting on it. I used about 3 lbs of rod in it so far and it has worked well. I switched the leads for some lighter metal and it worked fine. I would not recommend for light sheet metal as it is hard to keep the penetration shallow enough as with most stick welders.
I am not a career welder. I have owned a millermatic 210, century 140, lincoln 180, and lincoln 220 buzz box in the past. I still find it hard to believe the power in this size welder for $149. It is not a Millermatic 210, but for the price, I am pleasantly suprised at how it works.
I am 77 years old and never touched a welder before I bought this one. I started using it on 110 volts and had trouble with the rod sticking to the metal. I did not know how to adjust the amps. I switched to 220 volts and it works great.
I have had it for a very short time but if it lasts I will be happy.
I’m old school heavy equipment mechanic with over 40 years experience. I’ve burned a couple tons or more of 7018 rod in that time. I bought this for my home garage. I only used with 120v input. The machine welds better than expected.
There is no input voltage selector switch. When using with 120v input I had to adjust output amps higher to compensate. Rather than 90-100 for 1/8 rod I had to adjust to 160-170A when using 120v input.
I suspect the specs are correct for 230v input but I doubt they are accurate for 120V input. An impressive little machine for the price.

I keep the gas @ 25 (using the supplied gauge) for MIG and TIG. Typical Hobart quality, top shelf. The owners manual is very informative, most questions can be answered within its pages. Process changes are very easy, just remember what leads go where, and settings are in memory so theres no loss when changing modes.
All in all, this machine can work all day and doesn’t sweat it a bit. Don’t be surprised when you start it up and you don’t hear a fan, it kicks in when needed and again at shutdown. Very pleased with this machine- great job Hobart!!.
Just got it in and had a chance to work with it a while today. Using C25, have not tried flux core yet. Does a great job, but I’ve found as with most migs, the recommended settings inside the door seem to be a little fast on wire speed or a little low on voltage.
Bumped up the voltage and kept recommended wire speed and it seemed to do much better. Likewise, I used the recommended voltage and decrease the wire speed a tad and again, better welds. All this was on 14 gauge.
Will try 1/4 tomorrow. All in all, this is a steal for what you get Highly recommend trying this model.
I have welded with all the functions on this machine except tig. I have a dedicated machine for that. Its plenty enough for the hobby or home user. The arch is very stable and smooth. I have ran it on 110 and 220 and its very easy to swap back and forth with the included adaptors.
Don’t be afraid to crank that wire speed up and that amperage down as it seems to burn a little to hot for the recommended settings on my machine. I have welded with Millers and Lincolns for years and can say this machine seems just as stable as any other in all processes.

After 400 hours of tig and stick, I could not imagine buying another brand. The quality convinced me to buy the plasma 40. I built and entire machine shop and fabricated a race bike. The old style foot pedal was replaced after sending an engineer a demo video.

Just finished building a small smoker for a friend at work. Getting better with my welds the more I weld still got a long ways to go but the welder did a good awesome job. When the gun got too hot I had to let it cool down or else it wouldn’t push the wire out.
I’m welding with flux core wire, leaves a lot of Splatter I think is the word but I use a wire wheel on the grinder and it cleans up nice.
This welder is great for around the shop and property. Best price that I found. Don’t think twice if you are buying your first welder. Just get it and be happy. It will handle most projects for hobbies.
I just make a double pass on the thicker materials. Make sure that if you use a generator, that it can handle above 3000 watts, Love it!.
After using my Harbor Freight cheapy for a couple of years, I decided I wasn’t going to improve my skills without an equipment upgrade. The Lincoln was easy to assemble and welds like a dream compared to the HF.
Easier to control, cleaner beads and MUCH less splatter. Recommend highly, but shop around. No sense in paying full retail.

Quality striker, quality cables the grounding clamp is decent for having copper contacts over steel. The grounding clamp is also a good size not that little toy metal clamp most less expensive welders offer.
The controls are accurate with easy striking and low profile beads. This Inverter welder welds just as good as my full size Lincoln. A very good buy for the money, just remember this is a hobby welder not a production arc welder.
The light weight makes a great portable arc welder with 110-220v capabilities.
The machine works as intended and I have put the 80% duty cycle to the test. My only complaint is with the electrode holder. The leads , plug and 220 adapter are all nice heavy duty flexible wire with good heavy duty connectors.
But my electrode holder came apart and now broke as a result. Still happy overall with my purchase. Good little welder.
Digital display is cool, takes a very light touch to get it to move by a single digit at a time, but 98Amps vs 99Amps is negligible. Pretty impressed with the welding results. Running 110v 20 amp input can weld 1/8th inch 7018 to a 1/4 inch plate.
Not sure if the arc force adjustment affects the weld much but it does have a good anti-stick effect.

I purchased this welder to replace a much larger, Millermatic 35 welder. A great welder in it own right. While the welds of this welder are not quite as clean, it will weld material as thick as the larger welder it replaced.
The main difference is in duty cycle. This welder is not designed for production work so you cannot weld continuously for long periods of time. For home use and small shop use it is perfect. Best of all it takes up very little space.
I researched MIG welders for a few weeks and had narrowed it down to the Millermatic 211, the Lincoln Power MIG 180 and the Lincoln Weldpac 180. Based on the research, I knew I needed a 220V welder. While the Miller was an amazing welder, I could not see spending $1,200.
I then compared the Weldpac to the Power MIG. The units are very similar. The only real difference I could see was the Power MIG had a variable dial for power versus the specific set points on the Weldpac.
There is also a bit more plastic on the Weldpac than the Power MIG. I was able to buy the Weldpac for about $325 less than the Power MIG so thought that was a fair trade off. I have about 4 hours of welding on the Weldpac and it has performed flawlessly.
Most of the welding has been on lighter sheet metal, doing patch panels on a car I am restoring. I did have a bit of a problem setting up the unit, but that was clearly my issue. I could not get the gas to flow through to the gun.
After going through the whole set up, I had not seated the gun cable firmly into the unit. Once I corrected this operator error, I had very smooth welds. Time will tell if how well it holds up, but I am optimistic.
A friend has the Weldpac 155, no longer made, and he has had no problems over the past 6 years of near daily use.
Great little welder for the money! Came with everything you need to get up and running with MIG. I like to use the large spools of wire, and the instructions didn’t explain that, but was fairly easy to figure out.
For my shop use, the hard settings for heat range won’t be an issue. The unit runs very smooth. Also highly recommend a welding cart to get it up close to where you are working.

After a week of owning a new Miller 141; I happily switched back to my 10 year old Hobart 125 Handler. I was a welder by trade for many years and now I restore classic cars as a hobby. I have welded miles of mig wire installing floor boards, body panels, inner panels, and repairing sheet metal.
I started a new project, and decided to buy a nice welder that offers infinite adjustment for welding 22-24 gauge metal. I chose Miller because of past experience welding with a Miller mig, brand reputation, and positive reviews.
I was expecting great performance. I am very disappointed with the performance of the 141 when tack/plug welding and stitch welding of 22 gauge automotive sheet metal. The welding surfaces that I am welding are clean of rust or paint.
When I pull the trigger the mig wire starts out slowly and balls up, and does not fully penetrate. My setup is. 024 wire, 75% argon, 25% CO2. I have tried the auto set feature for 24 and 22 gauge/. 024 wire, and manual settings.
I spoke with Miller Tech support and they described the smooth start feature as ramping up the wire speed for 3 seconds after pulling the trigger. I believe this is causing my issues. Miller tech support said there was no way to disable this feature.
Even when I hold the trigger for longer than 3 seconds the wire is balling up and dripping. I have tried the manual setting without much better results. I have attempted welding with the voltage set at 1, 2 and 2.
5 and the wire speed set from 40 to 50. The wire either balls up or burns through the metal. The person I spoke with at Miller basically told me too bad & and that the welder is working as designed. Cyberweld told me that since I used the welder it could not be returned for a refund.
The advertised application mentions auto/body I am not able to get smooth plug or stitch welds on automotive metal. Holding the trigger for 3 seconds to get consistent wire speed will warp the metal.
At least I still have my Hobart to weld with, while my nice looking Blue Miller 141 is collecting dust in the corner of my garage.
I use this welder on my farm and shop for all sorts of things. The quick change drive wheel is a great feature. Portability cant be beat, 120 volt receptacles are nearly everywhere. Ability to use flux core wire outside in windy conditions that would blow shielding gas away giving poor welds with lots of porosity or working in areas that are difficult to wheel in a cylinder is a big deal to me.
This welder is certainly powerful enough to run. 030″ wire as it is to use. 024″. The automatic feed and gauge settings are a handy improvement over the old 140. My 10 year old son took to it like a duck to water.
