20 Best Weather Station With Rain Gauge (2023 Updated)

Excellent,very accurate Station for the price. Its minor flaws are running a few degrees high in full sun. That can be remedied with makeshift additional shield easily. The other is having to log n2 router isp to use software.

They need to change that. That’s why 4 instead of 5 stars.

I bought this for my disabled husband, he not only enjoys looking at it outside ,but enjoys knowing the weather conditions outside. I recommend this product. Very easy to set up

System was easy to setup. Connecting with Weather Underground allowed me to view the weather at my home via their app. Definitely recommend it.

We purchased this Rain Guage as our old one broke. We are very happy with it. We like how the Rain Guage gives us the amount of rain electronically. With our old one, we had to go outside and dump it before the next storm and in the winter it froze and cracked the base.

We are not sure how this one will work in the winter, but we’ll keep you posted. We’ve only had it about a month and so far we’re satisfied. I will also say when we had a lightening/thunder event shortly after we got it, it was beeping regularly until the event ended.

I will update this recommendation when a few more month go by.

It does not use an internet connection, but it’s still a very nice personal weather station with a lightning and rain theme. You will be amazed at how many lightning strikes actually occur in a thunderstorm within a 25 mile radius of your location.

One thing I like is the sensors are separate and easier to replace inexpensively, but that also means more batteries to keep up with. Fortunately the batteries last a long time, and although the instructions do not recommend rechargeable batteries, the sensors seem to run just fine on freshly charged Energizer rechargeables.

You do NOT have to replace the batteries as soon as the low battery warning comes on, you can simply wait until the batteries are too weak to transmit a signal. Another thing I like is there are actually 2 audible alarms for the lightning detector.

One alarm is on the outdoor sensor which beeps on the first 10 strikes and then switches to mute afterwards. The indoor alarm on the display beeps on every strike, but you can turn it off manually if desired.

The display keeps a record of strikes and shows the most recent calculated distance. The rain gauge comes already calibrated. All you have to do is install it on a flat open surface. If the weather station detects too much rainfall too quickly, then the display also features a visual Flood Warning Condition alarm.

The 12-24 hour Future Forecast feature seems to be relatively accurate. In fact sometimes it’s more accurate than common weather apps. It still misses the mark occasionally, which is no different than anybody else’s prediction.

Temperature seems to agree with most other sources within 2 degrees of ambient temp. Humidity, Dew Point and Barometric Pressure varies according to exact location, but are usually in the same zone of agreement with other sources too.

I have one DISLIKE. When batteries die in either sensor you would think replacing the batteries would resume normal communication with the display. Turns out it’s not quite that simple. You have to toggle the channel switch on the back of the display to reestablish communication.

Doing this causes the Today’s sensor history to reset to zero. Sad face there, but not a deal breaker. It resets anyway automatically every day at midnight. One other thing. if you don’t have a shady area to hang the Temp/Humidity/Lightning sensor in, then search for “AcuRite Solar Radiation Shield”.

It does help to reduce heat from direct sunlight exposure and give a more accurate reading. A shady area is always the better option, but not everybody has access to continuous shade.

Good features, even though it would nice to also give inside temperature and humidity. It is still “learning” to calibrate the weather forecast, so I can’t rate this feature. I like the display but needs to be below eye level to view at maximum clarity.

Haven’t found a good placmemt for the display to deter interference which causes false lightning strikes.

Rain gauge was correct , no need to calibrate. The outside temp was 2 degrees colder than actual temp. I used 3 outside thermometers for control. Easy to recalibrate.

Love it. Gives accurate weather information. Purchased to replace one that had worn out.

This was a gift and so far so good. Recipient was pleased with the functionality. This device does have a learning time period and we have just gotten beyond that. Seems to be accurate

Super accurate rainfall measurement, and highly sensitive lightning alarm. Lets you know when it’s time to get the car in the garage before the hail comes!

Garbage product, very poor build quality. Out of the box it worked well, little fiddly to setup but otherwise fine, it worked well for about a year, then the batteries in the outdoor module and rain gauge stopped working and the trouble started.

After replacing batteries constantly, the outdoor modules would only sometimes connect (despite being less than 10m away) – I contacted Netatmo support who just sent me the instructions to replace the batteries.

Now out of warranty, both my outdoor modules have failed completely.

This weather station requires an iPhone, iPad or web browser to monitor weather stats. It does this really well, the app is very well presented and works flawlessly, and I am very impressed with it. I also bought an additional indoor module (which I keep upstairs) so I can now monitor weather conditions outside, inside the main kitchen/dining area, and in the upstairs hallway.

It provides me essential temperature and Co2 information to know when to open windows and ventilate the upstairs and downstairs area from bad air. You can also set up automatic notifications to be sent to your iPhone whenever certain weather and air quality conditions are met, i.

e. I have a notification sent to my iPhone when the dining room goes below 10 degrees, so I know to turn on the heat pump, and a notification when the Co2 level goes above 1,000 so I know to open windows to freshen the indoor air.

It’s a little pricey, but it’s aesthetically pleasing to look at and compliments the modern decor, and seems to be very well made. The modules themselves are quite small so they are not intrusive – you can place them on bench tops (and it becomes a talking point with guests and visitors) or behind furniture if you prefer to keep them out of sight.

This weather station is just what I was looking for my main requirement was to be able to view the weather conditions remotely, this unit gives me the information i want. An added bonus is that it presents a history in the form of a graph.

It is easy to set up with the downloaded App. I dont have any cons at this time I am satisfied.

This weather station works very well. I had to buy a separate mounting pole. The only negative thing to me is the actual information screen. It has a lot of information on a very small screen. The date and time is so small you cannot read it from across the room.

The same for wind speed and direction. The viewing angle is very poor. If it is not at eye level, the readout on the screen dims and is difficult to read. I had my previous screen placed about 6 feet high, however this screen is unreadable at that level if you are seated.

Installed for 11 days now at 22 feet. Seems to be as close to accurate as possible as compared to to other local PWS. Rain gauge was good and no adjustment needed. Temp is spot on both indoor and outdoor.

Some complain about wind speed and direction lacking, but mine is as good as it can be considering that trees can make it tricky directing wind around it in unusual patterns, as I suspected it would.

Still better than expected. Been wanting one for years. Hope to get at least two years out of it.

Teo new units in a row not showing any value even when the rain is pooring down, and the Netatmo support team just say that everything looks to be ok. Don’t waste your money

This product appears far less quality than the rest of the Netatmo range. It constantly drops out and is not able to be accessed.

There is, due to all the features in this weather station, a rather steep learning curve if you want to take advantage of them all. The basic stuff works right out of the box. Other feature takes a little setup.

For example, setting the right wind direction requires a specific type of location that is level with the unit facing True North. For that one needs a compass app or the magnetic version and away from any object that would distort the wind’s direction.

I also found the several setup buttons to be very touch sensitive. Things can get a little crazy simply by touching parts of the face before you have studied where each is and what each does. All in all it’s a good unit and a good value.

One issue, not the unit’s problem. I kept picking up a sensor that I could not identify. It was interfering with my indoor readout. Changing the ID code from A to C fixed that.

Nice, with one superior flaw and that was the fact that the “Lightning Alarm Sound” CanNOT be disabled permanently. The first night that we had it (in December) this Alarm awakened us at 3:40 am because there were three lightning strikes 9 miles away, pretty cool during waking hours but we like to enjoy a full uninterrupted 6-8 hours of sleep each night & this thing was just way too annoying & inconvenient.

I even contacted Acurite support but they were of No help. Apparently, you can disable the lightning alarm sound for just “hours” at a time but then you have to constantly mess around redoing it to disable the sound.

It has been returned.

IšverstiShow in original languageStarted working as soon as the batteries were installed. Depending on the outside temperature the unit will display either wind chill, dew point or heat index. You can manually calibrate each readout.

I set the inside temp to read same as my furnace thermostat. I used some plumbing hardware to mount this at the top of my storage building. I can watch the anemometer spin from my breakfast nook. Records high and low readings since midnight and records highest and lowest measurements since the unit was activated (or last cleared).

This is the third time we’ve ordered this item in the last 7 years. The outside unit of this product only lasts about two + years. You would think that would make us not recommend this product, but that isn’t the case.

We think the weather including heavy winds, reap havoc on the outside unit. When it’s working it’s a great product. And, honestly at approximately $50 it isn’t overly expensive. Buy it, you’ll like it.

But understand it won’t last forever.

I would have gave the AcuRite a five star rating except the last two (this my 3rd one) the Atomic time has been 2-3 minutes behind the time on the TV. The location for all 3 the same place. The weather and temperature are very interesting.

One thing I’d like to point out–in all fairness you can’t compare the AcuRite with the TV. weather unless the location is identical. The AcuRite does a good job, and its a good buy. They make a nice gift for a person who has everything.

Love this rain gauge. You can view it from the house without having to go outside. I had one previously for about 7 years and it was still in good condition, but we moved and I left it. I was so glad I was able to find another one.

And after reading the reviews about having to keep it from freezing, YES, just about anything will break if water freezes in it. Just bring it in for the winter.

We are really having fun with this Color Weather Station. It is such an attractive and useful addition that we put it on our dining room buffet where it can be seen from the living room, dining room or kitchen.

Yes, the characters are large enough to be seen from anywhere within about 15-18 feet. We no longer need to find the cellphone to see what the outdoor temperature is, or the indoor temperature. It really is handy having this nice bright and large character color display with wind speed, humidity, sky condition, indoor and outdoor temps and more.

It is still in the learning mode right now, figuring out our elevation above sea level to more accurately calculate the atmospheric pressure. But the indoor temperature tracks right with our not-inexpensive programmable thermostat.

So that’s good, and gives me confidence the outdoor sensor is just as accurate. Within a couple of weeks this weather station should know enough about our environment to begin offering 12- and 24-hour forecasts.

It will be fun to see how they match up with the local broadcast weather forecaster meteorologists. Setting up the time, date etc. is very easy. The outdoor unit needs four AA batteries and if you choose to do so, the indoor unit uses six AA batteries for power failures.

But the display does not require batteries to operate. Time will tell how often the outdoor batteries need to be replaced, especially with the strain our below zero winter temps will put on them. The hardest part about the set up of this system was finding a suitable pipe to drive into the ground so we could mount the anemometer outside away from the house.

Now every time I look out the kitchen window and see it moving, I look around the corner to the display to see what our weather is doing.

This is a review for the Acurite 00622M Pro Color Weather Station with Wind Speed (Dark Theme). It arrived safely from Walmart in its manufacturer box, no overpack. The box was the less rigid corrugated material, but it arrived with no damage to contents.

Anxious to set it up with approaching hurricane, so I stuffed it with 10 AA batteries – 4 for the transmitter & 6 for back up of the display. That is pretty much all of the setup except to mount the wireless weather sensor outside and set time and date.

Everything looked great on the display and really impressed with all of the colors, although I did not know what they meant at first. Overnight, I left both the inside display and outdoor wireless weather sensor side by side (literally 2 inches apart) on the dining room table.

Next morning, I noticed that the inside and outside temperatures differed by 1 degree and were different that my $200 home thermostat. Also, the humidity was 2% different between display and the outdoor sensor that was indoor.

And again, neither agreed with my home thermostat which gives me a humidity reading because of the built-in humidity control in my brand new A/C system. While this slight variance does exist, it does not ruin my like for this weather station at this price point.

The instruction manual is well written and easy to understand. It has pictures to help with the explanation of the various functions and displays. An interesting feature is the Multi-variable history chart showing changes for the last 12 hours.

Furthermore, it has the ability to replay the last 48 hours in 30 minute increments. After a 14 day learning period, it will be able to predict your weather for the next 12 to 24 hours! Mine is still in learning mode as of this review.

Another huge plus is that it has an operating distance of 330 feet or 100 meters between indoor display and the outdoor wireless weather sensor. I’m still experimenting with the placement of the outdoor sensor at this time.

It is a great instrument for beginners to monitor weather changes.

I have to say this is one of the best thought-out products I have seen in a long time. They thought of things in the software that most companies miss. For example 3 levels of screen brightness. And a AUTO brightness based on a time schedule.

Although this would be much better done based on a little photo-cell and the light level in the room. They Include both AC adapter and a battery option which is very nice. Also, the wind speed spiny thing is very well designed and is not flimsily.

Very good value for the money.

Do not buy this product! Accurite doesn’t stand behind their products. This never worked from day one, they wouldn’t pay for exchange or return. Said it wasn’t mounted in a windy enough area. Had us go on the roof with a hair dryer directly on the anomometer, when it finally registered 11 miles an hr, they considered it a working product.

We went through 2 nor’easters,several wind storms, never registered above 3 miles an hour. ! only buy La Cross products—they stand behind them & will exchange return without an argument.

I loved this thing but I bought primarily for the wind speeds. I bought it May 14th and on Oct 20th the wind portion stopped working. I did all the things you are supposed to do to find the problem. The turban spins freely, I cleaned it, changed the batteries, and re-set the channels.

Everything else works great. I love the display but $80 for all the readings I already had but without the wind speeds is very upsetting.

This is an awesome device to have. Inside/outside temp and humidity, windspeed, cumulative rainfall, and forecast. All from inside your home. Also app to check it remotely. I wanted to give it 5 stars, but the app has some programming flaws.

It doesn’t report rainfall correctly. The inside home device has the information correct, but if you are checking rainfall while not home, it won’t be correct. Company says it is working on it. If they get this fixed, I’ll gladly give it 5 stars.

I did give these as Christmas presents too.

Great little weather station. Simple to setup and use. I bought the normal color one first, but found the display hard to read unless you had the perfect viewing angle. This dark screen is much easier to see from across the room.

This product didn’t meet our expectations at all. Product didn’t report the amount of rain we received as promised. We tried calibrating the device as AccuRite advised but to no avail. Still didn’t work correctly.

Plus, there was an 1. 5 hour wait when you called AccuRite for help.

Je suis radio-amateur et nous passons souvent les conditions météos lorsque nous faisons des contacts et bien elle est super pratique avec son déport en face de soi et surtout elle permet d’avoir un historique ce qui est très bien pour comparaison avec les jours et les mois passés.

oui je recommande ce produit qui pour l’instant fonctionne très très bien même avec une liaison sans fil en effet la station est sur le toit d’un petit cabanon 4/5 mètres de hauteur et le déport dans mon garage en sous-sol , distance entre les 2 environs 50 mètres.

The current BJ price is very attractive and if it worked it would be a steal. The problem were are having is the indoor monitor temp reading gets stuck for hours on same readings, so sometimes we are not getting the real outside temperature on the display.

Online it is very cool looking at the data on Weather Underground, that part works OK (over short distance anyways), and shows the true data promptly. Just the indoor display unit lags sometimes. AcuRite gave method to reset but still have the problem.

Otherwise for the price this is nice purchase for what you get. If you want more advanced connectivity features you need to pay extra for that capability.

This was an upgrade from an earlier black-and-white version of the AcuRite weather station. The new model has all of the same functions plus more, but not as easily accessible for some. For instance, can’t set to show lowest daily temperature at all times: Need to press the < < button a few times to get there.

In general, historical observations take a few button presses. However, the bigger problem with the weather station is that the wind speed indicator is no longer functioning, after only 3 weeks installed outside.

Wind direction is still displayed, but no wind speed. Furthermore, the rain gauge is misleading: We haven’t had rain, only snow, in the past few weeks, and it keeps measuring rain inches even after calibration.

Disappointed in the purchase.

This is a nice weather unit in general. Setup was easy, except for the cheap plastic mount they give you. Had to buy a galvanized pipe to mount it on but no big deal. Doesn’t work with the Accu App that is disappointing.

Also it would be nice to be able to add extra sensors, such as water or soil temp. The connection to Wunderground is temperamental, I like the way WU displays data charts of your station but every time they do a update you are logged off for several days.
