20 Best Washing Machine For Large Family (2023 Updated)

I bought this from Trail Appliances (but posting here so potential buyers can be advised). Then after 14 months, the spin cycle was very loud. I called Samsung and they will not cover this since they only cover 12 months warranty.

I had a repair person come and quote to repair this will be over $1,000 after tax! Problem was bent drum shaft and worn out bearing. Apparently just the bearings cannot be replaced and the full drum with bearing assembly must be purchased.

This is a huge labour undertaking. I am so disappointed. Repair quote was so high, the technician said not worth it to fix, just buy a new one and consider LG instead. I already contacted Samsung twice with no help.

Will try again. Maybe 3rd time’s a charm? I also bought the matching dryer (DVE45T6005W) and after 15 months, there was a squeaking noise. The repair was only $262. 50 so better than buying a new one.

But still, who wants to spend this money on a repair on a dryer that is only 15 months old? Do not buy this washer and dryer model set.

We’ve had this for almost a year after replacing a Whirlpool that was 25 plus years old. No problems thus far and hope to not encounter any. we did buy the extended warranty just because. This washer gets everything so clean, it’s quick, it’s quiet, uses less water which is good for the septic tank.

My wife wipes the door and rubber part on the inside after all the loads are done. She leaves the door open as well. She runs the self clean cycle when it’s time with bleach and also drains and cleans the filter as well.

This washer doesn’t smell. If your washer smells then you need to air it out after all the laundry is done and keep the door wiped. Controls are easy to use, there are plenty of cycle options for all clothing and bedding.

We don’t have to go to the laundromat anymore when our queen comforters need washed, this handles all of them(one at a time of course). We bought the matching dryer as well and it is awesome too!.

Samsung only make a good looking product! After the first use water leaked from the door, which I expected from a front loader. I haven’t seen one that hasn’t. Now just after a year of use, the spin cycle started making a horrible loud noise, sounds like it’s going to blow up.

Of course its just past the 12 mo. warranty, but that wouldn’t have mattered. For some reason the only warranty service company around our area is not even worthy of 1 star. I’ve tried to find parts, but what I’ve seen is I’d have to pretty much disassemble the whole unit and spend 1/2 the cost of the unit.

Then what, if its the same faulty part, it will just go out next year! Sounds like this has been a common problem, saying sorry doesn’t really help the people that dumped $$ into your product and now have a $900 paperweight.

I built my house 8 years ago with new Samsung kitchen appliances. I had to replace the refrigerator after 6 years and the stove has not worked properly for the last 3 years, even after replacing all the recommended parts.

Its not just Samsung. I’ve had troubles with several manufacturers, GE, Frigidaire, and Kitchen Aid. Very frustrating!.

I really liked this washing machine for the first ten months of use. It was then that it became increasingly loud during the spin cycle. Aside from the loud noise while spinning it worked fine. I called Samsung who than had a repair service come out.

The repair technician said he was going to order parts and his company would be in touch to set up another appointment. He instructed me to just run the spin cycle on low until the repair was done. No problem.

I get the call, the parts are in, another repair appointment is made. After a week goes by, they call me the day before the appointment to tell me it’s a two-man job and they only have one man in the area.

They say they cannot do the job and will kick it back to Samsung. Great. Another week or so goes by before the second repair shop can come out. Same thing. “It’s a two-man job and I’m a one-man operation.

” Honestly, why does Samsung use these people is beyond me. Nobody from Samsung contacts me so I’m forced to call them. Shockingly they cannot find anyone else in the area and will have to kick it up to somebody who will.

No call back from Samsung. I call Samsung and wouldn’t you know the ticket has been reported as complete by the repair shop and nobody seems to know what’s really going on. They send me to “case management.

” And after several times on hold he says he’s sending out a different company and it will be fixed. I immediately ask him who the repair shop and it’s the first company that said they won’t do it because again, it’s a two-man job.

So now I have to wait and see if this repair shop magically found another repair technician in the area. (Rhode Island) I have absolutely no faith this will get done. Btw, In the meantime, the washer has completely broken and is no longer workable at all.

So, it’s off to the laundromat for me! Last time I ever purchase a Samsung product ever!.

I purchased both the washer and dryer with stacking kit in July 2021. Best Buy delivered them and installed them and everything was great. until I did my first load of laundry and water started leaking from underneath.

I thought something was just loose. It leaked every time I washed clothes until right before Christmas when it started making this horrible screaching/grinding sound during the spin cycle. I rushed to turn it off and water started gushing out of the bottom.

I was still under the one year warranty so I made an appt with Samsung for the following week. They called me and rescheduled twice. They finally came out a month later to service it and couldn’t help me because the unit was stacked! Nobody informed me that they could not be stacked.

So I had to call and make another appt. Samsung assured me they would come out and fix it the following week. I got a call from the repair company informing me that they had to reschedule again! So now I haven’t had a washer for 6 weeks! Do not purchase a Samsung!.

I purchased the LG WT7100CW washer in April 2020 based on the Consumer Reports ratings. At first I was very happy with this washer. After about 1 year (of course after the warranty expired) I started having some trouble with the washer not starting.

I contacted LG and they instructed me to do what is called the hard reset. It did get the washer to start. After that initial phone call, the washer did not start again a few more times. I did what they originally told me and it would restart, until recently.

The washer WILL NOT START. I called LG and they went through all the steps with me to still find out the washer will not start. I was told to call for service. This is not covered by LG. When researching on the internet about this problem, I discovered this has been an ongoing issue with many of the LG washers.

The part for the repair is very expensive and you have to pay for the initial service call, then the parts & labor. Most people opt to purchase a new washer after calculating how much the repair will cost.

I am so disappointed with LG. They are very aware this is a problem and basically choose to do nothing, especially for the consumer. I even purchased the matching LG dryer, even though my dryer was working fine.

As a company, I feel LG should repair the washers at no cost to the consumer since they know this is a problem. I will NEVER purchase another LG product again.

I never owned an Amana washing machine, but I’ve always heard how great and reliable they are. I bought my first Amana washing machine and I was very impressed at how clean it washed my laundry. Although this is a great at washing, I can’t get used to the machine being 100% in charge of the wash load after I press “Start.

” I can “pause” or “cancel” the cycle. One time I tried to “stop” the cycle and it drained all the water out of the tub and I wasted all the He detergent and 12 week long fabric softener/smell good “dots.

” I just make sure never to push down the Start Button for 3+ seconds anymore. Yeah, once it starts the wash fill & wash cycle, u have to let it finish. Personally, I like to first fill the tub with water, soap, and softener dots.

Then, I use a plastic stick to agitate the water and make it very sudsy. Last, I put my laundry in the sudsy water, then I press “Start” to wash the clothes. That is how I did with my old machine bc (I believe) the sudsy water has the activated cleaning enzymes that “work” the dirt, stains, and soil off of the dirty laundry.

I cannot do this method with my new Amana. The Amana instructions say to press “Start”, add detergent, and add laundry so it can “sense” (weigh) the load of laundry in the tub. I can hear it clicking and spinning as it is sensing and weighing the load to determine how much water to use.

It takes too long to use the Deep Water (full tub of water) selection, but, it takes time to sense out the weight, too. Therefore, it takes a longer time to wash a load of clothes than I’m used to. I’m sorry that I didn’t note how long it took to wash each kind of load, but that’s bc it takes a long time and I just move on to doing other things and just check on it an hour later.

It does an excellent job at cleaning the clothes and it does save on water. It’s uses He laundry soap and I love that for my septic tank and the environment.

I bought this washer a year ago and from the beginning my daughter kept telling me that it wasn’t getting the clothes clean. I thought she just didn’t know what she was doing. I wish I’d listened sooner.

As it the “features” that are unnecessary and confusing weren’t bad enough, it doesn’t do basic things that most washers do like having the water start to fill up b4 u add clothes so u cab pour your detergent in w the water only so it disperses evenly throughout the load instead of loading a disappointing amt of dry laundry into the thing and pouring your detergent right on your clothes.

Oh and pods are a no go. they NEVER dissolve fully and stick to your clothes like shine, so u have to do a rinse and spin cycle again. Yay! That brings me too the only good thing about it, the manufacturer warranty bc boy did I need it.

My daughter was right about it not cleaning the clothes well, it also started to not drain properly or barely spin the gallons of water out of the clothes. Imagine my disgust the time I hurt my back lifting an entire load of towels out to be dragged to try tub for me to wring them out and DIRTY DIRTY water was coming out.

Shouldn’t it have been clean water I was hand wringing out? Um. yeah. Sooo I FINALLY get a human on the phone after 2 weeks of calling. Thank God he knew what he was doing and was a somewhat quick fix that he told me is almost a guaranteed issue w this model that he fixes ALL THE TIME.

With it washing clothes for NOW, I still am unimpressed and hate this model. DO NOT BUY, TRUST ME.

We bought this washer about a month ago and I have been using almost every day and I am very pleased with it. I had been looking for a basic washer, no bells and whistles, and this washer fit my criteria as close as I could find, and the price was reasonable, too.

I would prefer to be able to set the wash load size myself, just the old fashioned “small, medium, large” but you can’t seem to find that on new washers these days. However, the auto-sense setting actually fills with more water than my previous HE machine so it does a better washing job.

And if you really want extra water, there is the setting for a deep water wash. It still sounds like it’s sensing the load size but it fill up very full. I found I didn’t have to always use that setting, because like I said, the auto-sense puts in enough water to cover the clothes.

The tub holds more clothes than it looks like it will, and everything can still move around and agitate properly. I can even wash our queen size bedspread in it. I don’t use softeners on our laundry so I don’t know if it has a liquid softener dispenser.

The top of the agitator is capped, so I don’t know where else it would be if there is one. It runs quieter than my previous machine too. That’s a plus since our laundry room is right off the kitchen.

Overall, I am very pleased with this washer.

The good: You are able to select water level (Low, Medium, High, Max) although some reviews say that each of these levels depends on how much clothes you have in the machine. I always fill it empty to see how much water is in there.

for normal loads, I use Medium with Deep Fill. (If I use High without Deep fill, there is too much water–not enough friction to clean clothes) There’s a comparable Maytag machine for sale now, and according to the reviews, you can’t open the lid to see how much water is being used.

The Bad: VERY STRANGE settings. For example, I want a warm temperature for colored clothes, for example, 80 degrees F. In order to get this temp. I fill it on HOT for 5 minutes, then switch to WARM. But I have to press Start/Pause twice, otherwise it doesn’t switch.

If I close the lid, after closing, every time it pours about 15 seconds of cold water. (This is stupid) Then it switches to the setting that I chose. Other Stupid Programming Things: 1. If you change water temperature during filling, sometimes it changes, and sometimes it doesn’t.

I think/hope it will be consistent if I press e Start/Pause twice when I change temperature. Why would I want to do this? Because “WARM ” is not really warm. It is 50 or 60 degrees F. The manual says that modern detergents are designed to wash in cold water.

Well, that’s a lie. I have tried it. It doesn’t work. 2. Sometimes when you open the lid, water continues to fill. Other times, the water stops. I haven’t yet figured out why it is not consistent. 3.

Drain and Spin sometimes fills the machine again. The manual doesn’t tell you this, but if you want to Drain and Spin again, yo must have OPTIONS set to OFF, or EXTRA SPIN” otherwise it will rinse again, defeating the purpose.

4. Fabric softener doesn’t dispense evenly when you put it in the middle hole, as instructed by the manual. So, when it switches to RINSE, I pour fabric softener into the water, over the clothes 5. Does not get enough water out of the clothes during spinning 6.

Not possible to select “EXTRA SPIN” when you are using fabric softener. So if you want to get extra water out of clothes, you have to do Drain and Spin. 7. If it’s set to HOT and you open the lid during filling, and you close the lid, it fills with cold water for about 15 seconds and then switches back to hot water.

this is a strange quirk 8. The owners manual says to put detergent on top of the clothes after you load them. However, the quick reference guide says to put detergent in the bottom of the tube before loading clothes.

(They should not tell you opposite information) 9. Precise fill is not acceptable for colored clothes because it pours very hot water on some colored clothes, and this is not good for bright colors. The lid is locked during filling, but after filling is done, you can open the lid and feel the water.

Every 6 inches the temperature is different. very hot on some clothes, very cold on other clothes. 10. I called GE twice and emailed once, trying to determine if my machine is defective. They all said I should get a GE technician to check my machine.

However, from past experience, I guess the technician will say there is nothing wrong. My point is: the GE people on the phone should know about the quirks that I described above, but they don’t. Specifically: Drain and Spin starts the RINSE cycle unless you have OPTIONS set to OFF or EXTRA RINSE; and: Water pours in cold in the first 15 seconds after opening/closing the lid.

The techs on the phone told me this means the machine is defective. I almost returned it, but I was concerned that the replacement machine would do the same thing. So I kept experimenting and figured out that these quirks are probably normal.

My recommendation is: Write down your settings, how much water is in the tub, and how hot the water is. there are many possible combinations of settings. This includes “Did I open the lid? Did I press Pause/Start?) These minor details make a big difference.

When you find a good setting for you, keep using that setting. Some people complained that the sounds were like a sick duck or a cow giving birth. Well, if you want a machine that plays Glory Hallelujah, you’re in for a disappointment.

This machine is not loud. And mine did not vibrate and walk across the floor as some other people said it did.

Purchased this GE washer with a matching GE dryer on (order date) 8/10/21. Initial washer delivered was dented, but the Best Buy installer told us they still had to take our old washer and couldn’t leave the dented one while we waited for the replacement.

The initial dryer delivered (same time as the washer) was installed incorrectly, causing a gas smell throughout our laundry room for approximately a week, the earliest they could bring the replacement washer & dryer.

My complaint (case # 267666481) went without a response, even though a Best Buy phone representative said someone would get back to me in 24 hours. Never happened! It wasn’t until I visited the store a 2nd week later, after returning from a business trip that a manager at the store listened to me.

When the 2nd washer and dryer delivery was made, the Best Buy set up representative acknowledged, after inspection, the initial dryer delivered was hooked up wrong and quote “could have caused problems”.

Now for the washer: Its complete junk!! The past month has been nothing but out of balance issues as has been CLEARLY STATED in many reviews prior to this one. I laugh at the manual that says “balance the load” and / or floor levels”.

This machine bounces around so much it runs into my laundry room walls, along with the noise and velocity of the inner tub banging against the outer walls of the washing machine itself, to the point family members won”t even stay in an adjacent room, because of the distraction, let alone the excess water issue.

WAKE UP GE AND INSTEAD OF ALL YOUR “Dear customer, we are sorry” responses, ACKNOWLEDGE YOU HAVE A MAJOR PROBLEM AND FIX YOUR ISSUE. If this is happening to a machine just 4+ months old, what repair is next? If retailers like Best Buy, Home Depot, and Big Box stores would DISCONTINUE 3 / 4 of all the manufacturers skus they represent at store level, maybe these same manufacturers would wake up and inject some lasting quality into their products at the expense of profit.

The store manager was actually nice enough to discount my bill a bit, but what’s the point if a product does not work properly and is worth nothing to begin with because I now have to buy another washer? This IS BY FAR THE WORSE CONSUMER PRODUCT I HAVE EVER OWNED AND NEVER AGAIN.

If there were a zero star in the Overall Rating Section” that would be my choice!.

We’ve only had the new machine for about a month so far, but we are quite pleased with it. We hadn’t purchased a new machine in almost 42 years, dealing with the washers at rental homes or buying used ones all that time.

When the last one died, it was time to bite the bullet and buy a new one. One of the main reasons we chose this particular washer is because you can control the water level. I wasn’t thrilled about going back to a machine with an agitator, but I was so frustrated with the small amount of water our previous machine used–leaving soapy streaks on my dark pants, etc.

When it died, we decided to find one where we could control the water level, and where the wash times weren’t so darned long. We didn’t want a bunch of bells and whistles to go wrong on us, either. I read hundreds of reviews (both professional and personal) and finally settled on this GE model out of an overwhelming number of choices out there.

So far, so good. It does sometimes kind of churn my queen sized sheets into a twisted rope by the time it’s done, but it does wring out the water well in the process. Our clothes are coming out clean, and since we don’t wear fancy, delicate fabrics, we don’t mind if it’s a little harder on our clothes than a machine without an agitator would be.

It’s out in the sunroom, but I don’t notice it making a lot of noise, even when it’s spinning. Only once so far has it gotten out of balance and “walked” away from it’s designated spot during the spin cycle, and that was with an especially heavy load when wet that got to one side.

The drum isn’t as big as one without an agitator, but it’s plenty big enough for our needs.

I regret this purchase. Our old Kenmore front-loader that had worked so well for 16 years finally wore out and we had to replace it quickly. Reviews for this washer were great. Here is what I have found: 1.

The washer does not remember your favorite settings (we have two – one for things like linens and towels and dog beds that we wash on hot, and most of our clothes that we wash on cold). So you have to spin the dial and reset ALL the settings every single time you wash your clothes.

I have kids. This is a huge pain. I put little blue stickers next to what they should set for cold, and what they should set for their towels. I shouldn’t have to do this. The standard setting is one rinse.

Who wants only one rinse of soap from their clothes? I do 3 rinses and there is sometimes remaining soap, and I do not use a lot (half a small scoop) 2. The soap dispenser dumps the soap onto one section of clothes with an initial 30-sec burst of cold water no matter what the settings.

Our old washer mixed the soap in the basin below the clothes so nothing got hit with clumps of soap. This is especially problematic for black shirts, fleece jackets and jeans. 3. The middle “Warm” setting means “Hot.

” There is only hot and cold with this washer. It stinks. This means that even though powder detergent (with baking soda and vinegar added) is my preference, we have had to change to liquid for all clothes because clothes were coming out with powder clumps all over them.

Just putting the clothes in after the cycle stops (what I do at my in-laws’ place) is not an option because there is a sensor that thinks there are few clothes so that it only fills with a little bit of water if it doesn’t have the weight of clothes during the initial “sensing” period.

4. We wash almost everything on “Quick Cycle” because the Normal and other wash settings take MORE THAN TWO HOURS for anything more than one rinse cycle. It is ridiculous. When you set your washer to “Quick Cycle” you cannot set the “Pre-soak” or “Extra Full” settings.

These are two of the features that I purchased this washer for, and I can’t even use them unless I want each load to take two hours. I need to stand there, wait for the washer to fill and begin agitating, stop it and set a timer to remember to turn it back on to get a pre-soak for extra dirty items like dog beds and athletic gear.

I am writing this while waiting for my 30 min soak right now. 5. Clothes do not come out clean and fresh. I have NEVER had a problem with my clothes getting clean in a washer before. This one I sometimes need to run twice because clothes smell funky when I pull them out.

In addition, our old washer was magic at getting pet fur (we have both black and white pets, so they hit everything, especially the long-haired white dog), but clothes come out of this washer with clumps of fur all over.

This means that even things that I normally hang dry, I need to run through the dryer for 5-10 min to get some of the fur clumps off. Once hung dry, clothes look like they were worn and like they need to go through the wash again.

6. If you realize you need to change a setting (like lower the temperature like I had to do this morning since medium temp was coming out HOT and I was afraid to ruin my son’s martial arts gear), you cannot do this once you hit start.

You need to drain all the water, add more detergent, reset ALL the settings. What a super pain. What a waste of water. As it is, I don’t know if things will come out clean being washed on cold, but I don’t want to have to replace expensive gear.

7. The agitator does not do a good job mixing clothes. This is where my wish for another front-loader comes in. A front-loader uses less water, and the tumbling action puts all clothes into the water.

This washer needs to FILL to cover clothes, and then I’ll watch and the same clothes stay at the top for a very long time. With sheets, when I open the washer at the end there is ALWAYS a tightly wrapped bundle of sheets, all stuck in a dense package surrounded by one of the sheets that covers neatly over the top and all around.

I cannot imagine how any of the sheets are getting clean. With clothing, the arms of long-sleeved shirts turn into rubber bands – especially stretchy clothing – that bind everything together and get stretched out.

Fortunately I have not had anything ruined by the washer, but I am surprised. 8. I am 5’6″ and have difficulty getting things out of this washer. I need to balance on my belly on the edge to reach socks stuck at the bottom.

If I were a smaller or older person, this would be hugely problematic. I realized when I signed on to write this that I have hated this washer FOR A FULL YEAR, and I have hated it from Day 1 (I almost cried that first day when I ran my first loads of backed up laundry).

I regret this expensive purchase and wish I had found an additional $200 or so to purchase a front-loader which would have cleaned better and been less of a water hog. Most of the problems that I experience on a weekly basis you cannot see in the store.

Most of these issues are deal-breakers on their own, and we are stuck with this thing for years. I never minded doing laundry before, and now I hate it. The process is a pain, and things don’t come out as clean as they used to.

I should have taken photos but I have not. If I am able to I will add photos later.

First and foremost, the washer does not agitate the load at all during wash cycle. We have tried different load size (small, large, medium) and multiple modes (normal, perm press + deep fill, heavy duty).

In all cases, although the barrel turns, the clothes move very little. The clothes that were on top at the beginning of wash cycle remains on top for the entire cycle. It appears as if the clothes are slipping off from the effort of the barrel to agitate.

We thought it is the issue of the automatic water fill level being too low, so we tried “deep fill”. While this mode does fill the barrel with more water, it still does not agitate the clothes – clothes on top at the beginning remain on top.

As a result, clothes with stain remain stained after completion. Second, a normal wash with 2 rinse cycles for a normal size load takes over 2 hours. We understand that it is dependent on water pressure etc, but what makes this more aggravating is the washer’s time estimate keeps getting longer and longer as the cycle proceeds so we just don’t know when it will end (i.

e. , we cannot just set up a timer and be done). You would think that all these “smart” technologies will allow them to calculate the water flow rate at the beginning and provide a correct estimate – well that’s not happening here.

Just for a reference, it always took exactly 35 minutes to do any load for our old washer, and the clothes always came out clean. And third, perhaps adding to the time issue, the washer “thinks” just too much.

Between cycles, it stops for tens of seconds, does so many slow spins of no apparent use, stops again for tens of seconds, before finally moving onto the next cycle. We understand that it probably wants to ensure that things are proceeding as it expects by doing multiple checks, but come on.

Overall, we are very unhappy about the washer. Tyr to contact Samsung with out a solution.

I purchased this washer because of the great reviews, it almost being 5stars. I have been disappointed from day 1 with this washer. From the first load of darks I did, every article of clothing came out with white stuff all over them.

I waited a few months using the washer. I found every load, no matter what setting you choose, will use Hot water! Even the coldest setting will still use hot water. When I spoke with someone at Samsung they told me all of their washers use hot water to rinse.

I have never had a washing machine that would use hot water when you specifically select cold. When I spoke with customer support they had me do a cleaning, drain hoses and asked me to call them back after I did everything.

I waited another month or so trying different combinations and am still having the same problem. I did however find that if I use the delicates setting I don’t have the white film on our clothes. But the delicate setting does not do a full spin so I have to re-spin the clothes after each load.

I Finally found time to sit down and call them back and the wait time is over an hour. Still waiting for them to call me back. BestBut will not allow me to return this washer as it is over their threshold for the return.

I do not recommend this washer or any washer from Samsung.

We bough this washer last month and I am just getting to use it this week due to a delivery install that went awry and sadly flooded my house. I very much like the washer in comparison to our last washer.

I can wash larger loads. The features are awesome. It senses the load size and alters the wash cycle based on that. Silly but I love the happy music it plays when a load is finished. It is very quiet.

Because of the above issue with install, I have been watching the wash closely, which means leaving the laundry room door open. With our precious washer it was so loud, if you didn’t shut the door when laundry washed you could do anything because it was so loud.

This machine is so quiet that with the door open we can even watch TV on a normal volume!! I have noticed it leaks out the door on certain loads, just a drip or too—not a lot— hence the 4 stars, but it only does it sometimes.

I’m still trying to figure out why before I call for service. I’m hoping it’s a quick fix. After being without a washer for a month due to the install I’m not wanting to be without a washer again anytime soon.

I absolutely love this washing machine. I did a lot of research and LG is the best washing machine on the market. It’s not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for. The quality and performance is second to none and it is feature rich.

The size is great so I don’t have to do as many loads and I save water and energy. It is very quiet and the clothes come out clean and fresh. If I had one complaint is that the instruction manual is only basic and limited in the information it provides you have to scan the QR code or go online to get the entire manual.

For the premium price that you pay I expect that they would not skimp on the extra paper needed to get the full manual in print. You cannot print the manual either, you have to just read it on your phone or computer.

It has a lot of room for clothes which is a plus. Is able to wash blankets and comforters, no problem. On certain cycles it does not spin enough and leaves the clothes still wet so I have to run it through an extra spin cycle.

I don’t t like that it doesn’t give you a time for each cycle until you turn it on and is on for at least 20 seconds or so. I feel like it is never the same amount of time for each cycle. The light to the drum only turns on when the cycle is over which is annoying to me.

After every wash there is always water left in each compartment of the dispenser tray so I have to leave it open so it can air dry and doesn’t get moldy. Lastly, the door on this washer is very big and square.

It will not fit and open fully if you have a small space. Not impressed at all. I have not used the steam option so I cannot comment on that feature.

I had an older but working washer but decided I wanted a matching set. After a lot of research I decided that this was the best washer for my family. It wasn’t the cheapest washer but it had a nice capacity and I could get a matching set and I like the idea of the fingerprint list stainless steel.

However I’ve had many problems with this washer since I bought it in January. Although I have a 3-year warranty on it through Best buy the manufacturer makes you go through them before they allow you to use your Best buy warranty.

I have had repairman out to my house to fix it four times now. They’ve replaced almost every single part there is in it. Now although it is working again at some point someone snipped the wire harness that controls the temperature.

So I now have to have someone come out again to fix the temperature. Although the repairman that they send out our polite there have been multiple weeks throughout the year that I’ve been without a washing machine.

For my family of five that does not work. At this point I feel like they put so much money into parts and repairmen it would have been cheaper for them just to give me a new washing machine. I’m very unimpressed with the Samsung washing machine and for the price I paid for it it should have lasted me for years.

This washer lasted almost exactly 3 years. Then it stopped spinning/ rinsing. The $60 a visit repair person said it needed a new control board and that would be a $350 fix. We decided to just buy a new washer instead of repairing this one.

So beware of this 5. 0 Samsung top load Washer dying relatively soon. Otherwise, I really loved all the features and the work it did as a washer prior to breaking. The black color was gorgeous as well.

One thing that I tested at the start and found out – is that all regular non heavy duty clothes needed to be set to COLD. Not Cool, definitely not warm/hot, but COLD. Otherwise the 3 times I tried with “Cool” – they all shrank significantly.

I kept the same Delicate Dryer cycle for all these clothes when I was trying them on Cold/Cool Washer tests, so the shrinking had nothing to do with the Dryer to my knowledge. Just an fyi for anyone who might find this useful.

I’ve had my LG WM9000HVA washer since 2019, and it is still awesome! I’ve only given it 4 stars because of a problem that it had that I just recently realized how to fix. The fabric softener dispenser had been retaining a full container of liquid after each wash cycle.

I measured the electrical resistance of each of the three cold water outlet solenoids and found them all to be within spec (good). I then watched the fabric dispenser through a complete wash cycle and noticed that water only trickled into it.

I concluded that it must be internal mineral deposits from the water or some other obstruction that must be the problem. After replacing the cold water valve assembly, the washer now performs like it is brand new! I purchased the washer because of it’s large capacity and very good rating.

The large capacity was/is important to me because prior to purchasing the washer, I had to regularly go to a Laundromat only to wash King size bedding (comforters, mattress pads, linen, etc. ). Aside from the inconvenience of going to the Laundromat and waiting, I had to always have coins! Since getting the washer, those days are long gone! The washer is fantastic and performs flawlessly.

I religiously perform the required tub cleans and keep it’s exterior clean. My family uses the washer EVERY DAY. It performs without a hiccup. Well done, LG.

Bought this unit roughly a year and 1 month ago for our new house and it has been a completely nightmare. On July 4th the unit flooded our second floor laundry and even did damage to first floor ceiling below laundry room.

Spent many hours on July 5th trying to trouble shoot and figure out what problem was. There wear no leaks from supply lines or from the discharge hose. Took forever to get a repair technician out to look at it.

Finally he came on July 22nd and he seemed to feel the problem was the discharge issue because it was installed 12″ instead 6″ into wall charge shoot. I explained to him that it only leaked while water was coming into unit and NOT when it was flowing out but he insisted it was a discharge issue.

He tested it and without laundry in it, it worked fine. So after he left, we put a load of clothes in and it leaked all over again. We have a new home that is being severely damaged by this washing that was supposed to be their top of line machine.

It is junk and because it is outside of 1 year it is out of warranty.

I’ve owned this washer for just about 5 years now and have done hundreds of loads of laundry. Here’s what I’ve learned thus far. PROS: – Large Capacity – Clothes Come Out Cleaner Than My Old Top Loader CONS: – The washer often gets stuck with 6 minutes remaining trying to rebalance the load before the final spin.

As smart as the washer is, it will remain on 6 minutes for hours because it cannot figure out how to balance the load. Just to be clear. I am not washing huge loads or heavy items. My solution is to pause the load and bring all the clothes to the front of the dryer, then unpause the load.

Usually, the washer will be able to figure out how to balance the load after I do this. On occasion I will need to stop the load and simply restart with a Rinse and Spin cycle and pray that the load completes without its usual snafu.

Apparently there is no solution to this problem. – The wimpy little drain pump died pretty much right after the warranty period ended. I expected to see something more impressive given the overall look of the machine.

The washer needed to be moved out of it’s built-in location and the top lid needed to be removed to change the pump which is in front of the machine just behind the filter flip door. Very costly to replace by the way! – In addition to regularly cleaning the filter next to the drain pump, the rubber seals should also be cleaned regularly or they will develop mold/mildew.

even if you keep the door open all the time. Just FYI PRO TIPS from the Factory Trained Repair Technician who replaced the drain pump on my washer. – NEVER spin higher than MEDIUM. Spinning on HIGH or EXTRA HIGH will prematurely wear the ball bearings and the cost to replace is the same as buying a new washer.

– NEVER wash BATH MATS in this machine as they will ruin the ball bearings mentioned above. – Wash BATH TOWELS by themselves and only a maximum of 3-4 in a load. Same issue as the bath mats noted above.

BOTTOM LINE: Would I recommend this washer? Yes because it is better than my old top loader. No because the pump failed and cost a small fortune to fix and because it isn’t possible to use the machine at its supposed full capacity for larger items like bath mats and bath towels.

I had to have the first one delivered be replaced with another machine since the original didn’t take the product that was inserted into the tray. No sure why, I followed the directions and only filled maybe 1/2 or 3/4 to the max line.

Got the new washer and all works just as I was using the other so it really was the machine, not the user. Removing one and a half star because on these new machines, you have to mix the fabric softer with warm water before adding it.

Really? I have a small laundry area without a sink and so I have to go the kitchen each time to do a load of laundry to mix product with warm water. I ended up getting one of the nicer water bottles, filling just shy half way and then adding warm water to it.

I shake the bottle and then add in the product. Seems like a needless task but talking to the LG rep, its the only way it won’t clog up the machine. I use laundry detergent tabs so I can’t speak to how that product works by adding liquid or power.

As for the other half star I took off, that’s because I still can’t get the machine to connect to the app. Since that is a selling point and “feature”, I’m annoyed by that as well. I will keep trying and maybe call an LG rep to see if they can help.

Everything else in the house like smart plugs and whatnot are all connected and programed so I don’t believe its a fail by me.

After struggling for 5 years with another big brand name washer, my life is so much better after purchasing the LG washer that Consumer Reports recommended. I have no fear of it constantly breaking down as the other did.

First of all, the washer has a fantastic load capacity. I washed one of my quilts in it, and they’re large; however, you can wash small loads in it because it weighs the load you put in, and then rations the amount of water needed for that load.

And, it has a lot of different settings that, minute wise, allows you to save money on electricity. I’ve used 6 different settings so far, and they range from 15 minutes to 1 hour. There are more settings that I haven’t used, but my clothes come out very clean on the ones that I have used.

The washer is quiet, and I love the musical chime which tells you the cycle has ended. And one other thing that I really like is I can choose to add an extra rinse cycle which is 14 minutes. I use it each time.

So far, I’m really really pleased with my purchase, and I’m just waiting for the dryer that matches it to become available so I can buy it also. Can’t be too soon!.

If I could give this review a zero star rating I would. We purchased this washing machine in Feb-21 and was delivered in March-21, from a huge appliance dealer in OKC. From the beginning, we’ve had error code after error code with this machine.

Apparently, this machine requires that you put socks, bra inserts and anything of small size in a separate mesh bag to prevent such items from clogging the drain pipe. Speaking of drain pipe, have you ever cleared one on a front loader? Get ready to flood your laundry room floor, as we have several times.

it requires a dismantling of half the unit to get access to the drain plug. The washing machine was serviced by a certified Maytag repair man about 6 months after the first use but it has done nothing for the performance of the machine, it is still terrible and a constant discussion between my wife and I.

The wash cycle will freeze and require a restart to get a response (typically by flipping the breaker). We typically have to re-run the load 2-3 times before it will complete a full cycle. Our clothes have an unpleasant mildew smell and we are incredibly unhappy.

It’s become rare for a full cycle to run through on the first time. To sum it up, this machine is very, very needy – it requires a lot of babysitting and produces a very poor result. After contacting Maytag they, of course, play the “out of warranty” card but this is absolutely unacceptable for a machine less than 2 years old.

Maytag needs to send me a new machine or provide a full refund.

I had hopes that this would be a great washer I purchased for my first home, and my family. HOW DISAPPOINTED I WAS! I’ve owned this for a little over three years and Maytag came highly recommend at the time.

1. Certain Cycles had “low flow” problems. Whenever we put the cycle on “bulky items” it was never an issue but other cycles it was a problem. It was recommended we cleaned out the trap in the back (which is a pain in the butt to get to and clean) to see if that solved the problem, it did not.

2. Any detergent pods that was HE approved ruined our clothes. The washer is so efficient it wouldn’t melt the plastic on the little pods. The plastic would stick onto our clothes and make them hard as plastic when they dried.

It would require another wash to fix. 2. I bought the Geek Squad extended warranty, 3 years (how stupid of me). It expired last month and yesterday the washer died, IT DIED! I had a Maytag person come out and look at it, they said it was the “Control Board” and was going to cost me $500 to fix, not to mention it was “out of stock” and they didn’t know when they would have more.

The control board is not covered by the “extended warranty” by Maytag. My family is my husband and I and our three little dogs. The worst thing we wash is a rug that someone peed or puked on. I’m now having to go find a new washer (not Maytag) at 39 weeks pregnant.

Not what a first time mom due any day now needs to be dealing with. I find it unacceptable that big companies such as Maytag, Whirlpool, and etc. manufacture items that don’t last as long as they are “suppose to”, or “should” last.

It’s irresponsible and creates such a waste in our environment to manufacture something that lasts a few years, and costs an arm and a leg to purchase. What happened to appliances lasting 10+ years and made of quality? Those days are DEAD!.

We have had this washing machine for just about a week and i really wish it came with a user manual. We had our maytag Neptune for over 20 years and obviously the technology is totally different thesr days.

I love the washer and i find that it seems to clean the clothes very well. When using the preset cycles, i. e. delicates, the clothes come out of the washer very wet. I know that it prevents harming the clothes but they are dripping! One thing i must say is that this machine is huge! I can put what i think is a normal size load in only to find that i must split it on half to dry! I wish that we were in a position to purchase the matching dryet.

but that’s not an option at this time. All in all i definitely live it and it is so quiet! I would recommend that if you need a well made machine that works well and is large don’t think twice about purchasing this one! Also, Best Buy service is top motch.

They sent texts to keep us updated on delivery time and the delivery man called us to let us know when he would be here. And they arrived 5 minutes early! Great system and the installation was perfect.

the installer ran it through a cycle before leaving to be sure it was working perfectly. I would definitely buy appliances from Best Buy again!.

3 Stars because this washer (WM3700HWA) cleans well, but please read on. This washer will render your clothes very clean, BUT, you had better adhere to very strict like-garment fabric rules, or this washer will try to balance seemingly forever or until you remove what it finds difficult to balance.

If it’s really having a hard time balancing, the door will jump out rhythmically with the fear of it opening — thankfully, the door never did open. VERY BALANCE-SENSITIVE WASHER. I bought this washer during the onset of Covid-19 since my old washer finally broke.

Regarding this sensitive balance issue, I tried contacting customer support within the first week but learned that maintenance calls had been suspended due to Covid-19 — understandable. (The agent handling the call was located in some type of chicken coupe because I could hear a rooter repeatedly crowing in the background — funny.

) However pleased I am with how the garments come clean, I must be EXTREMELY CAUTIOUS of what I place into it otherwise it won’t find a suitable balance. As a result of this balance issue, I would not recommend this particular model of washer (WM3700HWA) to anyone.

PS I have owned several washing machines over my lifetime (I’m retired) in which I never overload and always separate garment weights, colors and types. This model is my second front-loader washing machine, so front-loader washers are not new to me.

I had previously been a very old-skool top load, non-HE washer user, very skeptical of front load and HE machines, after loads of reports of front load washer having foul mildewy smells and growing mold.

Since older technology didn’t have this problem, I stuck with it. I decided to try this front load set after reading some in depth feedback in Consumer Reports on the cleaning effectiveness of front load machines, and the ways that the odor and mold issue has been managed through design and easy owner maintenance.

This set was a recommended set under Consumer Reports ratings, and seemed to have all the features I might need. It was also about the same price per unit (on sale) as the nice top load non-HE set I was considering, and water conservation became a consideration, so I decided to try this instead.

I am SO glad I did!! Clothes are very well cleaned; easy to add clothes during the cycle if you forget something; if the load seems unbalanced (during a blanket wash for example), it self corrects; floor vibration is nearly non-existent – even when it’s high speed spinning and the machine itself is vibrating; and it’s generally much quieter running than my last top loader.

I haven’t had even the faintest issue with mold or mildew, since I keep the door open after washing, never leave clothes in wet, and use machine cleaner about 1x a month. My machine smells like the scent boosters I use, and the rubber gaskets are squeaky clean.

Highly recommend!.

I bought this washer along with its matching dryer on 9/3/21. I also bought a stacking kit as they needed to stack to fit in my laundry room. The first washer that was delivered was fine, but four dryers were delivered damaged.

That meant setting up another delivery date and staying home for a 4 to 5 hour chunk of time each time another dryer arrived. I was relieved to find the fifth dryer undamaged when it came on 10/6/21.

But the deliverymen refused to stack the machines, saying the stacking would damage the washer and the two might topple on me. I told them I had a stacking kit, I had seen them stacked in the store, and I was going to call the store immediately.

After being placed on hold, I finally talked to the clerk who sold me the machines. She said the deliverymen were being lazy, and when I returned to talk to them in the driveway, they had quickly started to stack the appliances.

They were concerned because the stacking kit had only two screws when it was supposed to have four, and they did indeed damage the washer in the process of putting the dryer on top. But the damage was only cosmetic ( a few dings in the enamel which I could cover with appliance paint and a piece of plastic gouged out of the detergent dispenser).

I hope to never have to buy another appliance, but both the washer and dryer work well and I am pleased now that they are both here. My previous washer required me to get down on my hands and knees to drain dirty water from the drain pump and remove gelatinous cat hair, mold, and dirt from a filter; I am happy to not need to do that anymore.

The sensors on the Amana machines work better than on my previous machines, and there is no scooting across the floor when the tub spins. I don’t know why four damaged dryers were delivered (two had dents, one had a hold in the side, and one had a door that would not shut); I even asked whether a dryer could be examined before leaving the warehouse.

This was an extremely frustrating, exasperating experience, but it finally worked out satisfactorily.

Recently purchased in December 2021 to replace my washer that suddenly died. I like my front loading machines and liked the reviews that this had. In the 2 months I have had several issues with this machine.

If I wash delicates there is at least 3 cups of water that remain in the tub and the clothes are saturated with water that soaks my floor getting them into the drier. This causes wasted energy as I then have to run a drain and spin cycle on the machine machine.

If I run regular or normal cycles there are other codes that pop up interfering with the cycle being completed. I have ran the machines cleaning cycle to see if it would help based on codes and it didn’t complete the cycle in 12 hours apparently as when I went to put clothes in it had another code that there were clothes in the washer.

Regret my decision so far.

I have had this washer for about a month. It has a large capacity and is very efficient. I love the sensing feature. The washer adjusts wash time based on amount of laundry in the drum. I actually enjoy watching the wash time change after sensing the load of laundry.

The only thing I don’t love is the sensitivity of the touch controls. I am short and when I reach over the washer to get something off of the shelf I brush against the buttons and either turn the washer on or pause it in the cycle by accident.

I have gotten to the point that I usually remember to be careful of the buttons, but still button design could be improved with a lock feature or slightly recessed buttons. Overall, I am very happy with this washer.

I was given this washer and a dryer as a gift for helping a sweet little ol’lady move she didn’t need them as she was moving in with her son. So “They” say 3. 9 cu wash space and the tub is big, but as So Many are Saying, in reality it’s more like.

Does anyone know of a class action lawsuit going against whirlpool, for the way they took us as whirl”fools” with the way They misrepresented this washer !The dryer works great (not a whirlpool), the lady who gave them to me didn’t know of the problem she had begun living with her son right after she bought them so both machines were basically brand new when I got them, but I can’t even think of selling this, con job, of a wash machine to someone or even giving it to anyone! I have more respect for myself than whirlpool clearly does for itself as a company!.

I have had this washer for 2 years now. I have searched high and low for a old fashion washer without all the fancy bells and whistles that I do not need and wanted a washer that fills with water to clean the clothes.

So far I have been very happy with this washer. My clothes come out very clean and fresh smelling. I only use the deep fill features because the normal cycle only fills the machine half way with water and only gives a spray rinse instead of a full tub of water rinse.

At first it was a quiet machine but over time it does get noisy. I had a Maytag washer for over 26 years and than you couldn’t get parts so I did my research and watched you tube videos on this machine.

Yes washing machines are not made like they made them many years ago, but this washer does the job really well. I just hope it lasts as long as my old Maytag washer that was 26 yrs old. At least either once a month or 2 months I do a power wash cycle to clean the machine.

All you need is a cup of bleach and put it on hot water and the machine washes itself. I have read reviews with people who have tried to wash the My Pillow in the machine. You have to put 2 pillows in the machine or some towels to balance out the load, those instructions are on the My Pillow Label.

All in all I finally have another no frills washing machine that fills the tub with water and cleans the clothes really clean and rinses the clothes really well. I hope Maytag never changes this machine.

If I could give a NEGATIVE 5 STARS I would for the Maytag Commercial Washing Machine MVWP57GW and Maytag Customer Service. I paid nearly $1000. 00 for this machine and received a LEMON. From the very first load of laundry the green cycle lights went from FILL, RINSE, DONE with all three lights staying on at the same time.

The agitator never worked, the clothes washing cycle never worked. Maytag said I can not receive a WORKING brand new washing machine. This LEMON has to be repaired. So for a $1000. 00 I DID NOT receive a brand new WORKING washing machine but have now fallen into Maytag’s warranty LEMON repair nightmare.

I would give anything if I had purchased Speed Queen. Maytag does not stand behind their products, sends out Lemons, making it the customer’s time and fault to deal with it. DO NOT EVER, EVER, EVER buy the Maytag Commercial Washing Machine MVWP575GW.

If you do, be prepared to play Russian Roulette keeping your fingers crossed you will actually receive a brand new WORKING washing machine. Shame on Maytag!!.

This washer is unbelievable. The clothes come out snow-white and the colours are bright. My Mother and sister have used it and they are blown away at how the clothes turn out. I can’t believe it. It doesn’t have auto sensing for water.

That would have been nice to have. That’s ok. I’d rather have a washer that can clean the clothes rather than sense the water. Maytag has always been the best.

This is a nice washer. I replaced a 14 year old top loader, so some of my impressions are based on the switch to a front-loader. Pros: Large capacity Quiet operation Smart features Good cleaning Fast wash setting Cons: More “post wash” maintenance than top loader Door cannot be reversed This washer does everything I need it to do.

It takes large loads and adjusts the cycle based on the amount of clothing. It’s interesting to see how the default time changes once it “calibrates” to the load. It has a large number of settings pre-programmed (bedding, towels, normal, etc.

) but also allows you to upload custom settings (one at a time). It has a drum clean cycle as well, which is a nice feature. The smart features, while not necessary, are godd additions. My favorite is getting a notification on my phone when the cycle has completed.

Also, being albe to check the status and maintenance needs remotely is nice. As an added plus, Samsung has several pre-set custom cycles in the Smart Things app that can be added, or you can define your own.

The main downside is that, like most front-loading washers, you need to dry the seal and door after use to avoid mold/mildew. Also, it would be nice if they had a reversable door so you can configure it to match your house’s fixtures.

My dryer is on the left of the washer, the way the door opens means I have to navigate around it to fill the dryer. Not really a big deal, but complimentary opening would be nice. I got this on sale for about $700, and for that price it’s a steal.

Even at the list price it is worth a look.
