I was pleased with the Garmin DriveSmart 65. I haven’t experienced the problems described in some other reviews. True, it did take a long time to initially update the software and data, over night even through a wired network connection, but this is not an ongoing issue.

In use, the unit performs well. It boots up and acquires signal quickly, the directions are accurate and quickly recalculate upon diverging from the planned route, the screen is easy to read, the audio is clear, and it was easy to attach to the windshield with the included mounting pieces.

So far, the suction cup has not come loose (and can be a little difficult to remove), but the weather has not been hot, so potential problems with the unit falling off cannot be entirely ruled out; fortunately, aftermarket alternatives are easily available.

It is easy to enter new addresses, but the procedure took a little while to figure out at first. A downside of the address list is that it cannot be sorted alphabetically, except perhaps by deleting and re-entering everything in alpha order, because it remains in the order the addresses were entered.

When entering addresses with the unit not plugged into power, the charge lasted about an hour. The USB cable is a little disappointing, with an outdated USB 2 type B mini connection at the unit end, and the socket placement on the rear of the unit pretty much requires that the cable be plugged in before being mounted on the windshield attachment.

The operating cable is about 68″ long, including the cigarette lighter plug end. A shorter cable, with a USB type A plug at the other end for attaching to a PC or phone charger, is about 14″ long. The outdated technology here may contribute to the long update times.

One thing that surprised me was how light the unit is for its size, lighter than my rather small phone. Others have complained about the plastic construction, but this contributes to the light weight, and the light weight puts less strain on the windshield attachments.

It’s not at all flimsy. Finally, the unit is a little awkward to store or transport because the mounting components do not fold flat. Given updated USB technology, a clearer user interface for entering addresses, a sortable address list, and more compact attachment pieces, the unit would support a 5-star rating.

For the same price, of course.

This hands down is by far the best truck GPS I’ve used. There’s so many great features on it. First of all it has a great suction cup great quality and very sturdy. It’s been on my truck windshield and it hasn’t moved even after all those crazy bumps I go through on the road.

This will show you construction zones, congested areas. If you run this and compare it with Google maps you’ll be able to save yourself sometime by avoiding nasty traffic by rerouting. This has saved me delays numerous times.

I really like how you can connect this GPS to your hotspot and it will get automatic updates. And to top it off when you link your phone to Garmin drive app to run with this GPS it will provide information on your GPS screen like text messages or calls.

I don’t know what other GPS can do this but this is a great feature this will actually read your messages and show them on the side of the GPS display. Don’t think about it just get it!.

The image is crystal clear. When connected to phone it updates traffic and maps automatically( may require software update for this feature) I have 3 truck profiles loaded on it along with the Car option.

Accounts for all types of loads and hazards. Intuitive. The windshield mount is very sturdy and allows for quick easy removal of GPS while leaving the mount on the windshield so you don’t get 500 circles on the windshield.

Just took a 2000 mile trip with no issues There was a detour that put me on a restricted road. and it let me know. boy did it let me know. big flashing red warning.

The Garmin 1010 is a great GPS unit. They did a good job on the production. The display is large and bright so you can read it easily, even in the sunshine. (It has excellent resolution. ) The voice recognition is a big improvement on the previous models.

Reception of the weather and traffic through the cell data plan is excellent, but I chose not to use my cell phone so I ordered an HD traffic mount for $139 and receive the traffic that way instead. We are enjoying unit.

I wish Garmin would offer the traffic receiver incorporated into the unit so we wouldn’t have to buy a separate mount for traffic.

I purchased this Garmin 56 dashcam, as it was on sale, for 199 CDN. The same camera was listed at other stores for 269 CDN. I drive long distances often, and needed this item for obvious reasons. The Garmin 56 was pretty much ready to go out of the box, the sd card is already installed, and the setup is very easy.

I was quite happy with how easy and friendly this cam is to operate. I was also happy with the picture quality. I contacted Garmin support and they sent me the suction cup mount attachment, it was in my mailbox within 3 days.

I was impressed by the personal service I received from the Garmin representatives I spoke with, and I cannot realy say enough good things about this dashcam, I am extremely happy with this purchase, it was money very well spent, for all the benefits it can provide.

Been wanting to get one of these again, but after having bad experience with a previous one with a rear camera (that quite working after a month) was a little leery. Searched online and settled on this one cause had good reviews and seemed small and easily moveable to different vehicles.

I just use the short cable with it to move to different vehicles. I was a little confused how it attached to window. Believe it comes with two (maybe only one, can’t remember) metal disc with double sided tape.

Needed one for work vehicle though. You can make one from a punch out from an metal electrical box. Grind any rough edges off and get some Scotch 3M brand double sided tape. Put one side on and trim to the round punch out.

Then stick to window. Note: Your suppose to clean glass, press hard for bit and leave to cure for couple days. Haven’t had one problem with the originals or the one made. Now can move between vehicles quite easily.

Like the voice command function. Usually have to turn the radio volume was down though. It seems to understand ‘OK Garmin’ with radio on, but the action needs the radio down. The only thing that doesn’t work well is the lane departure.

That is a little funky. Most modern vehicles have that ‘third visor frit’ on the glass around the rear view mirror, so can’t exactly get it in the middle of window. Think that is the problem, but they should account for that.

So turned that off cause got tired of it telling me was out of lane. All the other stuff, except the annoying “warning thing about adjusting while driving” works great. But the warning goes away after a bit.

It is really small, but takes great video and really wide angle of view. Also can connect with the phone via bluetooth. Haven’t used it much, but can view video on it instead of having to take the SD card out.

Very easy to install. I was able to use a USB plug in my glove box to power it rather than the cigarette lighter making it basically hard wired. The lane departure and front collision warning are surprisingly accurate.

They are great to have if your car is missing these features like mine. The voice controls are also very responsive and useful. I was comparing this with the Next Base 522GW. I chose the Garmin because it is smaller and more discreet, has 4 simple control buttons rather than a touchscreen, and most importantly came is a USB powered cable rather than a cigarette lighter only one.

Also I like that the Garmin can warn you about speed cameras and it can pair wireless with up to 3 other Garmin cameras. The Nextbase requires physically connecting additional cameras from my understanding.

Overall I prefer the Garmin. The Nextbase has a touchscreen and Alexa but both of those are not really necessary as the screen looks buggy in videos and I already have Google Assistant on my Android Headunit.

Came across this as certified refurbished for $65 shipped and had to get it. It now replaces a cheap dash cam I was using and also no longer have to use my phone for navigation. The best feature I’m constantly using is how it accurately shows the posted speed limits with my speed right below it, it shows red if going over the limit.

This really comes in handy on the long backroads winding through towns where the speed limits are constantly changing and cops like to sit and wait. I can’t think of a time it was wrong. Typing in addresses is sometimes annoying, just not as easy as on my phones app, but it always ends up working.

Voice input is another story, it hardly works for me so I give up, maybe it’s my Boston accent. It has crashed on me a few times, screen freezes so I end up just holding down the power button for a couple seconds and it restarts fine.

Collison warnings go off when there’s nothing in front, but only once in awhile and it’s not annoying. Camera and video quality seems good, large field of view to show incoming lanes and sidewalks. To use the traffic feature I bought the gtm traffic cord, used, and it works pretty well showing delays and construction.

Guess it depends on the area and whoever broadcasts the traffic. It gives warnings once in awhile about animal crossings, lower speed limits, I think railroads, and one time about a speed trap that wasn’t there.

Animal crossings and stuff like that are always right, not sure they show every one of them though, I don’t really pay attention. Main thing I don’t like is the suction mount will fall off if the cars parked for awhile facing into the sun, always worried about breaking the unit.

Maybe I should look into a better mount. For me I got it for nav and dash cam, all the other features are just a bonus, and the speed indication is awesome and has def saved me a ticket or two so far.

I have the Garmin DriveAssist 50 with back-up camera in my Jeep. It works perfectly and I love it. I decided that the DriveAssist 51 would be a good upgrade for my main ride. I am therefore in a position to compare the 2 models.

Both have the forward facing cameras, and both will work with a Garmin backup cam. I am not using the back-up cam with this unit because my car is already equipped. While the features of the DriveAssist 50 & 51 are very similar, the DA 51 is a REAL pain to use and I’m considering returning it.

Garmin Express doesn’t recognize it on either of my 2 computers, regardless of which cable I use. This has been the same with 2 different DA 51 units. Sadly, I returned the first unit thinking it was defective, but the same problems persist with the new unit.

It alerts lane drifts constantly even when I am nowhere near the yellow line. This is so bad that I keep it muted – which would be bad if I actually use it to navigate on unfamiliar roads. It shuts off randomly! That makes it unreliable especially since it just suddenly goes dark.

Thankfully so far I just have it plugged in on my daily commute, and I have used it to navigate out of town only once so far. Although that went well, I don’t trust the DriveAssist 51 to be there when I need it.

I carry my old 2597 in the glove box as a backup. I might return this thing and just get another DA 50 which has proven to be a much more reliable GPS. Bottom line – The Garmin DriveAssist 51 has proven to be an annoying & unreliable model GPS and I definitely Would Not Recommend it to anyone who relies heavily on a GPS to get around.

I have only used Garmin for GPS units. I wanted to upgrade my old 10 year Garmin to a new one with the built in dash cam. I love the features and love the dash cam. WHEN IT WORKED, that is. We went on a week long trip and this piece of junk would constantly lock up, or reboot, or just shut off.

I turned off the dashcam but it didn’t help. I moved it out of the sun and stuck it on our car’s radio screen right between 2 AC vents. It still did it. The final straw was when it locked up and we didn’t notice.

We missed a turn and drove 30 miles on the wrong road. It was locked up and didn’t inform us to turn. If this is the new Garmin quality, then I won’t be buying Garmin again. I will just use my 10 year old Garmin that is built like a rock and is can still have the maps updated.

Buyer beware. Electronic Express, by the way, is excellent. This bad review is based solely on the Garmin DriveAssist 51 LMT-S.

Wish i’d been able to try out different sat navs first. This is my first proper satnav and i find it very hard work. A friends TomTom just ‘works’ but this Garmin needs constant fettling and trying to get it to follow a multi drop route is teeth clenching.

The map is laggy so if you pinch zoom in or out to see your next drop the map goes to sleep. The next location flag is the same colour as the other drops as well, not much good if youve got some next to each other.

Also loading a route is a painful. Its old tech. I downloaded the Garmin app onto my phone, which turned out to be next to useless and uses all my phone battery and you cant load a route onto it. The Garmin settings dont do all the things you want too and i have to keep telling it things as it keeps going back to default.

The power lead is old hat and the window mount release is a fiddle. Tom Tom have a quick release/power mount. No wonder there was a money off this at Halfords. I recommend trying before buying.

Purchase OTR 700 in March use it about 2 1/2 month and started freezing , making a loud squeaking noise at first I thought I needed an update so I brought it home did an software upgrade work for a little while and then same things happening.

Call Garmin spoke with Robert. He said to send him the new GPS that I have they’re going to send me an old fixed GPS. ?? This is crazy it’s only been six months. And also to make it worse I have asked him about the warranty on the one I’m getting he mention it’s either a 90 days or the rest of my original warranty.

They don’t even give a year because they know they can trust their own device.

I bought this product in September, due to returning to the LGV Industry after a long spell away from the wheel. Due to the product being produced by a reputable company (Garmin) and the purchase price in product comparisons, I had took it that I was purchasing the most up to date version of the device.

No sooner had I signed for delivery, and unboxed it, the device had the first opportunity to prove itself useful, thankfully, set up and use was simple and a destination was put in. Off I went in the 44 tonne truck, 4.

8 metre high, all dimensions had been put in a profile created and I sat back began to drive, with a rough idea of where it would need to route me. To my amazement, the mapping was outdated not picking up new roads and road systems, and then when it gets important , ‘The Last Mile’, if I had blindly followed the directions, I would of been sent down unsuitable local roads.

So after checking out You Tube for tips and using the Internet to update mapping, I found that the device had arrived in 2019 with 2015 mapping installed. So 2nd use, now I noticed that the mapping was better and more in date but some of the peripheral information, such as speed limits had gone off key.

Updated again, so 3rd update in less than 2 weeks and stuff had improved. However, in comparisonto the You Tubers, which had unboxed and given tips on box fresh US devices, my device still seemed ‘blocky’ and graphics had a ‘vintage’ feel.

So I had come to the conclusion that as the device was a refurb, it was working on an older platform. This wasn’t reflected in my opinion in the purchase price. In hindsight, maybe I should of spent more time on the initial choice, and steered myself away from a refurb product.

Wow, what a fantastic piece of equipment! I have been driving articulated lorries for 30yrs now and using satnavs for approx 6yrs! My 1st one was a Garmin 465T and I have had some fun with it, but generally speaking, very impressed! I have not used this latest version in my lorry yet, but in the car, it has taken me on better routes in my local areas than I already know.

Very easy to use, set up and generally use. Would recommend this satnav to anyone looking to get or up grade. Many thanks for a quality product. Roy.

I am very pleased with the sat nav except when I do an update via my macbook pro the speed limit indicator goes to 20 mph with the truck symbol beneath it. this is very annoying as it then beeps constantly saying you are over the speed limit even though you are not.

Also even when you save an image by pressing the photo button it does save some images but when you try to download to the macbook pro it with the Garmin dash cam player it says there are no files. I can only get back to normal speed indication by doing a full factory reset, which sorts out the problem but then it says new updates available and you go round the loop again.

I have contacted Garmin twice but their advice is to do a factory reset again.

I will start the review with kinda of a Garmin review in general, I have had many GPS units, dash cams etc over the years and I have kinda stuck with garmin because I know their interface. I bought the 66w dash cam in january of 2020, recently I noticed it was not giving me alerts like the collision or lane departure, then I realized my coordinates and speed were missing from my saved videos.

Found out my GPS chip was not working, no bars indicating it had signal, of course it’s not covered anymore, called Garmin and I could replace the unit for a refurbed 66w for $120…. I thought why? The 66w was plagued with connectivity issues through WiFi, bluetooth etc so I figured well if I buy a new dash cam from someone else its a new mount, new account, new interface blah blah blah.

So I decided to go with the 67w, stupid, yea…. seems to work fine but the connectivity issues still persist, I honestly think this is an app issue but really whatever it is it still sucks!! I do like the remote viewing feature if it doesnt have problems.

I like how small these units are and they seem to be built great its just the dang connectivity issues that kills a 5 star review. Hopefully the hardware doesn’t poo on me with this one and I can deal with the other issues just because I’m used to it.

If you have made it this far in my review I would say if you are new to dash cams look somewhere else, you will be frustrated, if you are a previous Garmin cam user and are use to the issues, they are not fixed so if you want to try another cam I would I just didn’t feel like migrating.

I was looking for a simple to set up dash cam that could provide decent picture quality for a fair price. There are many dash cams out there that cost way less and those that are way more. So, after much research, I figured the 67W would be the right fit as it looked to be a balance between the lower/upper range.

1. Pros – small size and easy to set up. Hides nicely behind the rear view mirror. Connected to my iPhone without any hassle – this was important to me because many cameras out there evidently have problems connecting to phones because the software is a half-baked.

The camera operated as expected. Can attach via a suction cup mount purchased separately (my preference for portability between cars). Can take 256g cards. Easy menus to navigate so you can literally take it from the box and attach to your car have it running in less than 10 minutes.

SD card included! Connect to the power via mini-USB/USB A connection instead of a huge cigarette lighter adapter – much neater as I didn’t want to hardwire my camera. Solidly built unit – no issues with build quality.

Innovative magnetic mount. Voice commands worked flawlessly. 2. Cons – picture quality. Tried every resolution possible and even tried different combinations of “EV” – a setting to let in more or less light into the lens.

No matter what i tried, the videos came out grainy. I tested this camera on some cloudless beautiful days and while the street signs are fine, license plates are not legible unless you were sitting at a red light about 5 -8 feet from the car in front of you.

Cars in motion, you can forget about it – it’ll just be a blur. Night time videos are as expected – abysmal. But just about every camera has issues with night time videos. Also, the 180 degree view is not for everyone.

I didn’t hate it but I did not like it either. Garmin was trying to get more field of view in to cover a bit more beyond the left and right fenders of the car. To me, the was a bit much distortion as had that fish-eye look that can be annoying.

If I had buy a Garmin again, I would buy the 57 with its 140 degree lens over the 67W. I believe the 57 has the same feature set but with a lower angle lens. I wanted to like this. It checked every box with respect to set up, size, software and operation.

But at the end, I could not deal with the poor video quality. I guess with it’s size, there’s only so much video capabilities that can be crammed into the 67W. Now, if this was a sub-$200 camera (say $175ish), then yes it would be a good choice but at this price point, I cannot recommend the 67W.

I found garmin gpses the most and easiest user friendly over the other brands. I love the fact that it has built in camera and you don’t have to deal with another piece of equipment and extra cables.

Camera is must to have this days a specially if you’re driving a big truck. the battery life is poor but that’s due to the bright screen and camera which it not a problem for me since I keep my gps plugged in at all time anyways.

I would definitely recommend it to anyone and if you don’t like it for some reason, you can always take it back. ABT has the best customer service ever so they will take care of it no questions asked.

This Truck GPS was a Great investment! Considering the price I paid was well below cost, it was sent out in its original packaging & with all the necessary parts. So happy I found it!

Easy to use. Large screen. Very good camera. Can set to any type of vehicle. Great for helping to avoid low bridges.

The Garmin DriveAssist 50LMT is a solid piece of technology that functions as a combination GPS, dash camera and a driver assistance (ADAS) system. That said, it does have a few important limitations that you should be aware of.

Here’s a summary of the positives and negatives pertaining to this device: Positives: 1) Price and value: I paid $99 for a refurbished unit, and at this price, I think it’s a fantastic value. Although, at the original $299 asking price, I’m not sure I would have purchased it.

2) The unit is well made, and simple to set up. 3) The GPS provides clear, simple voice directions, the screen is bright and easy to follow (though of very low resolution for 2018). 4) The dashcam video is generally pretty good quality; although it gets somewhat marginal at night because of the small size of the lens.

5) The ADAS features really do work: the forward collision, lane departure warning and moving traffic warnings function as described. The unit also warns you of speed limit changes, red light cameras and when you are driving the wrong way (though see below on that last point).

6) You can operate the unit by voice command in addition to pressing options on the screen. Negatives: 1) The GPS sometimes makes mistakes and is missing some locations (e. g. it didn’t know about a CVS pharmacy in Savannah, GA even though that business has been there for years).

It also told me I was driving the wrong way down a street at one point (even though I wasn’t) and took me on a mile long “side trip” rather than telling me to execute a perfectly legal U turn. 2) The unit takes quite awhile to calculate routes.

3) The battery life is really short (less than 30 minutes): this unit is only designed to function plugged into your car. 4) Some major US cities (like Savannah, GA) have no traffic antennas, so you won’t be able to get live traffic updates.

5) The ADAS system gives false positives sometimes, especially if the sensitivity is set to “high”. 6) At night time, and in the rain, the ADAS system really doesn’t work reliably (even though this is arguably, when you might need it most).

7) The supplied suction cup mount really doesn’t hold very well. All-in-all, I recommend this unit. Based on my readings of other reviews, most ADAS systems in stand alone dashcams are completely useless, whereas while this system makes the occasional mistake, but it actually does work (in some ways it works BETTER than the system in my $60K BMW.

that system warns SO late that metal is already crumpling by the time the alarms go off! I’m exaggerating, butonly slightly). The GPS works fine, but honestly, no better than the free Google Maps app on my smart phone.

The dash camera records in full HD quality, and during the day the video looks fine, but because the lens and sensor are so small, in marginal light it looks worse than the video from some $50 stand alone dashcam units.

If you ONLY need a dashcam or ONLY need a GPS, you probably shouldn’t buy the Garmin DriveAssist; however, if you want both of these functions in one machine, and you’re curious about “smart” driver assistance / collision avoidance systems, and you want to test one out for very little money, I think you’ll be happy with your purchase.

I love this gps system! All my car was missing was Bluetooth and navigation. now it has that plus lane departure assist, live traffic updates, school zone warnings and beeps if I go over the speed limit(you can toggle these features on and off).

Also you can set its wakeup phrase to curse words!!! Haha! Yes I know its immature but it was worth it. The screen is crystal clear, the Bluetooth phone calls are crystal clear. I have no issues with it.

And itll switch between your phone and the Bluetooth seamlessly when you power up the Garmin. Im happy with it. I highly recommend. And the dash cam is really clear. No sound but thats fine with me. If youre considering this model vs another model.

pick this one. I didnt like it attached to my window so I bought a friction mount and a long necked gps mount and I just toss the whole thing on my dash in front of my steering wheel but its bent in such a way that it sits right above the vent by the stereo.

Its lower and it still records out the front window perfectly. Then I just move the entire set up instead of unclipping the gps from the mount. That way theres no reason for thieves to poke around my car!.

I got a fair price. It sticks nicely to the windshield and I was able to route the cord to the power source. The screen is bright and I don’t even have it set at its top setting. At night it changes to black automatically so it is easy on your eyes.

Setup was pretty easy. The voice commands work well for navigating the menus and for connection to my bluetooth phone. Using my phone through the device works well and sounds fine. The map navigation is ok.

It does not have “Google like” smarts to see where traffic is congested and does not automatically route you the fastest way. It simply plots your route. The thing beeps at 1 mile per hour over the speed limit.

I like the warning, but wish that I could change to 2 or 3 miles over, but I see no setting to change that. The lane warning, if you wander out of your lane is sporadic and not consistent. This is something I would not depend upon to help me.

I have tried to adjust the camera, but got the same results. I have received multiple forward collision warnings, mostly when a car comes into my lane ahead of me, Nothing that would have been a collision.

Maybe some day it will help me, but not so far. The unit powers down automatically when I turn the car off. I have never had to review the video it records, but I know it is recording all the time. You do have to buy a storage card to record videos.

The unit comes with a storage card, but that is just for the maps. Overall I like it and I recommend it for the price. #sweepstakes.

Not impressed with the video quality, even in clear daylight. The rear cam can’t see at night in parking mode. The interior has good infrared at night, but video is very grainy. The field of view is significantly less than in many other dash cam models.

Instead of front and cabin cam on same unit, they are two separate cameras, which adds wires and takes up space on your windshield (in many states — illegal). I think the cabin cam should be on a 360 rotatable mount.

You can aim it higher or lower, but not turn it toward you more (as you might like to do in the case of a cop or road-rage driver coming to your window). I like that they use tape rather than suction mount.

It was very easy to run the wires and hide behind trim (took 10 minutes). I haven’t done the hardwire yet, but it’s simple. I’ve had no issues with the companion app for viewing. I can use the app to view the camera live (to set it up), to change the settings, and to view the recorded files — but only when it’s connected to my home wifi.

I can’t figure out how to access the files beyond that. But if you want to view using the cloud service, you’ll have to pay for a special device (costly), a SIM card, and monthly data service.

I purchased a Blackvue dashcam from BBMC a few years ago but needed another one and decided to go with Thinkware. I was underwhelmed with the overall install process and felt the Blackvue app was a lot more user friendly.

Smooth pre-order of unit and excellent communication with Terence after shipment of dashcam delayed 1-day. Received in perfect condition and after installation, Wi-Fi button became stuck (embedded) into the body of the unit after I depressed it.

Very disappointing to say the least. Immediately contacted Blackvue and was referred to BlackboxMyCar (seller). Advised to download, complete and submit DOA form in order to receive RMA label. Informed return/replacement will take @2-3 weeks total.

Unit functions properly otherwise and I am considering whether to keep it. Playback of recordings are very clear. However, when viewing via the Windows microSD Card Reader app, video will occasionally freeze.

Switching from my vehicle’s Wi-Fi network to the dashcam’s Bluetooth “network” for Cloud vs. camera access is cumbersome. Hopefully, Blackvue will develop and release a future software update that streamlines this process.

Default video display setting (3) is slightly dark, but can be adjusted. Volume of installed dashcam is barely audible. It can also be adjusted, but could use an increase in available volume settings.

I’ll provide an update to this review, once I hardwire the dashcam and have a chance to test parking mode functionality.

There are so many things wrong with this device, it is difficult to know where to start. We drive a smaller Class B RV, but wanted the route warnings for propane, height and weight as well as RV specific features.

Of course, we also wanted a functional GPS. Positives: big clear screen, provides grade information, works when the is no cell data. Negatives: On most roads (other than interstates) it just gives a I don’t know symbol with regard to propane, height and weight restrictions; although it occasionally will throw out a false warning when you least expect it.

Despite giving the dimensions of our small RV, it routes and provides speed limit information as if we are in a large RV; that means that it won’t take you down I don’t know roads and can send you on a dizzyingly stupid route at a lower speed limit than you should have.

Points of interest are also missing. I replaced a much older Garmin 3580 with this 780 and the older 3580 is much more complete in its points of interest. Another complaint is that despite being equipped with Bluetooth, it doesn’t interface with the Garmin EcoRoute HD.

Although it has a large screen, it focuses on large print rather than allowing you to customize it to provide more information on the screen. The bottom line is that it is a real disappointment that I regret purchasing.

After months of use, it is relegated to backup status when I can’t get cell data to use Google Maps on my phone.

I decided to buy this model because it has the largest screen, even though it is geared for RV’s and I do not own one. That has not been a problem, it works fine for cars. Initially I was very frustrated with this tool.

It took me a few weeks to figure out how to enter the correct info when looking for an address; it kept on telling me it could not find my destination. I was ready to smash it! But once I learned the quirks of entering an address it was fine.

The large screen is very helpful. One change I would suggest related to alternate routes. When you want options to consider, or you need to change the route you are using, this Garmin is not user friendly.

I find the best way to obtain those things is often to start over from scratch. I would purchase this again.

This is the second time I ordered this here on QVC, and it’s so disappointing. The connection to the GPS port does not fit. If this is a manufacturer problem, then address it to them. I had to travel with my cell gps because QVC doesn’t not honor our word.

They wouldn’t send a new one until they received mine. I even offered to provide a tracking number. I will have to order it from Amazon and see if it’s the manufacturer’s problem or they sent me the same damaged gps I returned.

It’s unfortunate how QVC’s changed. I don’t think I’m going to be using this site for much longer. Their remote shows were just depressing, I had to stop watching them. Sad.

After 2 months of use I have found this SatNav quite helpful 90% of the time in the truck. It usually gets me there, but now and again it takes me on a very long detour when there is a much quicker route suitable for a Class 2 vehicle.

On one ocassion it took me to an address that was around 3 miles from where I needed to be even though I keyed in the correct postcode multiple times. They do say not to depend solely on your SatNav and to also use a road atlas and other tools to plan routes.

That said, on the whole I like it. It is easy to use, has been dropped and knocked about in the truck and the screen is sensitive enough that I can use it with gloves on. I have found it will usually get me very close to where I need to be, and when it doesn’t, there is always google maps on my phone to do the final part of navigation – but I would never rely on google maps for a full journey as it has no idea I am in a HGV.

If you’re a new truck driver then this is an essential piece of kit. Just make sure you set it up correctly with your vehicle’s dimensions.

My old Garmin, a 3597LMTD, is many years old so I thought I give one of the newer models a try. After doing a fair bit of research the Driveluxe looked like a good choice. I can’t find many new features and have lost the ability to connect to my EcoRouteHD to get vehicle information.

I do like the new ability to receive text message via voice on the GPS. The display resolution is nice. I like the speed of the recalculations and thank you to Garmin for getting rid of the “recalculating” message.

Yeah! There are some what I would call “Gotchas’ but I really can’t say that they are new. Just for fun I tried to find my local Target store about a mile away. It insisted that the nearest one was 16 miles away.

So here I am sitting the parking lot of my Target with the GPS telling me the closest one is 16 miles. I found that somewhat amusing. Well why didn’t I think to search for “Super Target”? So if I were in a unknown place it would have me drive 32 extra miles for a bottle of Aspirin.

The voice command feature works well as long you don’t have the radio or air conditioner on. It’s funny that some of the commands are not on the menu for example “Weather” and “reroute”. I guess they are optional depending on how you have it setup.

For example weather on works if you have the SmartLink running on your phone. I did have an issue on i75 on the south edge of Kentucky. The GPS went crazy. The map spinning in circles and voice telling me to get off on every exit.

Might have been a satellite outage. So all in all it is a good unit. But if you have a fairly new top of the line unit you won’t see much difference.

I bought the Garmin DriveLuxe 50 NA LMTHD to replace an older Garmin. This new model is quite an upgrade over my old Nuvii 1390 model. This one can actually work with voice commands. The traffic feature is helpful in metropolitan areas supporting it.

The screen is higher definition than my older model making it easy to read at a glance. Updating the maps is a pretty simple procedure through the Garmin Express application. There is a micro SD slot on this unit that supports micro SD cards up to 32GB.

The initial map update fits on the unit’s internal memory but as more favorites, pictures, etc. are stored, the external memory slot will come into importance. One thing that I REALLY appreciate on this new model is no more repeated ‘recalculating’ messages.

The unit simply calculates a new route whenever a recommended route is not followed. Since my old Garmin was registered through Garmin Connect, I was able to transfer all of my old saved favorite locations to the new unit.

The software prompted me for that so it wasn’t anything I had to hunt. I haven’t paired my cell phone to it yet but the instructions for doing so are very straight forward. I could go on and on about all of the amazing features this GPS has but I think you get the idea.

I truly love this model andhighly recommend it.

The Garmin nuviCam LMTHD is packed with techy features that brought my old pickup truck on level with current models. All that fancy safety stuff you see in the commercials, like lane-departure and forward collision warnings? It’s there, along with real-time traffic information to help avoid trouble spots.

Trouble free video recording provides video evidence if something goes wrong. Pair it with your phone and make / receive hands-free calls. Check the latest weather report. Oh, yeah, it provides turn-by-turn directions to your destination, too.

Awesome value for so many features, and about half the price of new offerings from Garmin! It should last as long as the Garmin unit it’s replacing, a 10-year old nuvi152 that still works great (in the wife’s car!).

I’ve had this satnav for a few weeks now. I’m getting on with it ok, so far. It was fairly easy to set up. Which makes a change for these types of things. If you download the garmin drive app, you can link you phone to it.

This is good for various things, but most importantly,i feel, for the live traffic reports. The only trouble is, i think it’s to clever for it’s own good. It tried to reroute me off the A1 last Fri, because of 20mins + delays.

No doubt everyone else was doing the same thing, as i didn’t end up saving any time. In fact i ended up losing an hour. I guess you have to decide whether to follow it blindly or make your own mind up.

Fri afternoons are busy everywhere. So i don’t think it stood a chance. It does lot’s of other fancy things, which i may or may not really need, as is usually the case these days. It is very disappointing not to get a case of any sort with it.

For the amount it costs, you would have thought it would. Overall i am pleased with it. Even if it’s just for the enve it gets from everyone else, because it’s so big! Haha.

I had to replace my truck sat nav, so went on line and looked what was out there, I saw the Garmin Dezl LGV 1000, looked in to it a bit more and took the chance that the cost was worth the upgrade, had it almost 2 weeks now and IT IS worth the money.

Everything is much faster, it has a really good chip to power it up and keep everything running smooth. I am still finding new apps to test out but as yet I have not found any fault with it at all. the only fault with the whole package is that it does not come with a hard carry case to transport and protect it and trying to find one on line is impossible, but the unit is 100%.

The Magnetic holder is very strong and easy to use and has a USB socket which I use for a Dashcam then I don’t have to run another power lead to the Cig Socket keeping the dashboard nice and tidy. Three of my friends are seriously thinking on getting one after Christmas.

All in all it’s a great piece of kit.

This particular GPS is wonderful. We upgraded from a car only GPS to this trucker version. It has elevation, sunset times & many other extremely useful tips. The best thing about this unit is that it will route you as a truck or a car depending on what size and weight you enter.

This unit can totally save you from getting stuck in an inner city area – especially if you’re hauling a trailer or are a big truck versus when you do not have length or height restrictions when traveling in a car.

This unit will get you where you need to go in the most efficient manner to your destination. Recommend this OTR800/1000 100%. Great GPS!.
