Bellroy products has always been good and known for their quality. This is no different.

The fabric is soft and sort of silky but yet seems very durable. The bag and shoulder pad on strap are nicely padded. The stress points (e. g. , where strap attaches to bag) seem durable. It has a hard bottom.

Great capacity. Nice availability of open outer pockets, outer zip pockets, and interior mesh pockets on both sides. The largest outer zip pocket will fit a laptop and is nicely cushioned to do so. Things that would make this bag perfect: Transparent plastic bottom (like can be found on Lug bags) to protect from water and stains.

Wider luggage sleeve. It is *just* wide enough to fit on my suitcase, a snug fit, which made it difficult to get on. I tested this with the bag empty, so may be slightly easier when full. Perhaps slightly smaller size.

I wanted something bigger than the medium duffel, and while I appreciate how much capacity this has, I’m a little nervous it will be too big to use as a carry on. The color. Of course devices read color differently, but for me, the color in the picture is different from the bag.

It has less blue tone in person (online the lavender color looks almost on the verge of periwinkle). It is lighter and more pastel looking online than in person.

This bag is terrific, using it daily in addition to my briefcase, to tote purse, lunch, water bottle and other items back and forth to work. Need to be hands free when I enter my workplace for screening and this bag fits the bill.

I got the black, which goes with everything year round. It is lightweight and I can carry or wear over my shoulder when public trans is required. Very pleased w/ this bag. Lots of room inside w/ large interior slip pockets to keep smaller items organized.

Front pocket can fit an iPad or cables, etc. There is also a long zippered compartment on the back side of the bag that I haven’t even used yet, which could easily fit a laptop, files, a sweater, just about anything.

This bag could easily be used as an overnight bag for travel. The only downside to this bag (in the black), is that the fabric easily picks up lint from your clothing. Other than that, I have been very happy with it.

I needed a good sturdy bag that would be a good size with good sturdy wheels. I decided to look for a bag with very “large” sized wheels. The reason now, as to why I look for large wheels is due to minimizing the wear and tear that happens with the wheels depending on their size and make, as well as extend it’s use as long as possible.

This bag is a good size. Plenty of room. You can fit quite a bit of things in it. It runs almost as big as a “hockey” sized bag. A nice set of very large wheels. It has 4 zipper type pockets. A shoulder strap, handles, straps with clasps to secure and a zippered compartment for the handle.

The material is good. It’s not super durable. I bought this bag 2 weeks ago. It arrived just in time for me to transfer the stuff I usually bring to my mother’s for a few days from my old bag to this one.

Last Friday, I tossed it into the cab and was off. By the time I got where I was going and started unpacking, I noticed small “burn” tears. And THIS was EXACTLY what was bugging me on whether I should send the bag back and look for something else or keep it.

The issue I have with this bag is that it does not have any “stoppers”. Basically they are little “round” feet made into some duffle bags allowing them to stand. They also serves as some type of protection.

Without them the area is exposed more to the ground. And should you ever end up dragging the bag unintentionally, there is nothing to stop the bottom from being torn from friction. The bag itself is more designed to be set down the long way as it has a rest to protect the bottom and raise it a bit off the ground.

You lie it down and you pick it up and roll it using the handle. If this bag had those little round “rests” on on the side, like other rolling duffle bags, this would not have happened. I have owned such a rolling duffle that had “stoppers” on the side.

That bag lasted for well over 10 years. Over time the bottom started getting tears. However if it wasn’t for the “stoppers” it would’ve happened faster. That bag was also a similar type like the one I’m reviewing.

So already this bag is damaged due to something that happened that I was unaware of. Now I’m going to have to look for something else and retire this bag for moving clothes. Rockland, you could do better with this bag.

It’s not a bad bag but you could’ve prevented this. Pros: Good large size. Lots of room. Nice large and sturdy wheels (The wheels are the best part of what I was looking for). Cons: No stoppers on the side of the bag for protection (Because sitting one area of the bag on the ground is not going to to destroy what you paid for over time).

Bought this for a cruise and it was perfect. It fits the dimensions of the cruise lines and held everything I needed and more. I used packing cubes for my clothing, etc. in case it burst open, but it was fine.

The wheels and handles are great for the short distance I have to “carry” it, however you give your bag immediately upon arrival to a porter to embark (and disembark), so it’s not a problem. Just don’t overpack it so much you can’t carry it to the car.

I wouldn’t use this to fly, just ground trips and cruises within driving distance.

I’m relocating and placing my items temporarily in a storage facility, so I was in need of breathable and rolling storage solutions for my winter clothes and shoes. As a veteran, I purchased two of these in the original cammy green color, which arrived in the colors expected.

These are very spacious, and so far, the rollers and handle works well. However, because it is so large, it gets heavy pretty fast. Thankfully, I’m not using these for travel, and I wouldn’t recommend them for air travel since they would be considered oversized when packed full.

They are probably great for storing extra bedding and other linens, in addition to seasonal clothing items. I would only recommend these for storage solutions or travel on a vehicle or on trains, if they allow large luggage.

If they had these in black, I would have probably purchased them in that color as well. Apart from my explanations above, another reason why I only gave this product three stars is because it does not stand upright, which means its sides or bottoms can get dirty.

I had to purchase a separate large, plastic rolling bin to hopefully fit two of these inside, so as to keep them standing up and protected from the dirty floor most often found in storage facilities.

I was in the market for a very specific product after my faithful backpack from another outstanding company started to show signs of wear after a decade. I knew I wanted a fully opening clamshell zip, and externally accessible compartments for separating gear.

I also needed a smart colour and design that simultaneously did not attract attention, and yet also did not look out of place in a meeting room or business class cabin. I also needed it to be sturdy enough to go all over the world and request performance from it that it was never imagined for.

After a good amount of international travel use, and daily use commuting by bike in one of the most massive and densely populated cities on Earth, I think I’ve found my pack. The 40L capacity is extremely utilitarian – I can fit 2 pairs of shoes and enough outfits for 3-4 days, plus a hygiene kit, still carry the pack comfortably on my back, on my shoulder via the side-strap.

The compartmentalisation and internal storage is well thought out and executed, providing excellent organisational capacity. I read several reviews before purchasing this pack, and tend to agree with the positives, and find the negatives as either reflective of personal preferences, or simply nit-picky.

All in all, this is an excellent pack, and I look forward to taking it all over the world with me in the future.

This is the middle size of this series of backpack/duffel. I also own the carry on size of this bag. This bag is made with quality materials and stitching, as all mystery bags have. It would be nice if Altitude sports brought the other fabrics, like the 1000d cordura, but since only the wood wax was in stock I bought it.

Very versatile, for a longer trek, you can use the backpack straps, which are the most comfortable of all the backpack/duffel bags on the market. For a shorter trek, the briefcase style strap is pretty good, but could use a pad for the shoulder.

I like the slim profile. A feature not mentioned is that the load lifters can attach to the backpack panel, or to the top part of the main bag. But the possible weak point as another reviewer pointed out, is that the backpack straps are sewed onto the inner liner, rather than the tough fabric, so we’re not sure about the how much these parts can perform before the stitching comes.

Also, the measurements on the site seem to be off. It’s quite a bit larger than the carryon size. If they made the horseshoe opening sideways like a suitcase, and in different colors/fabrics, would buy again.

I got my family all new duffel bags for short mini adventures and trips. This was my selection. That being said I was able to compare this to some of the other options out there. This is by far the best.

The build quality is excellent. The backpack straps are the best among duffel bags for sure. The load lifter straps are really what separates them. The comfort of the straps is great. I like how the shoulder carry strap is on the side and provides a messenger bag style of carry which is fantastic.

The internal pockets are great for storage. The boot section is great. I put an 22L In and Out pack in the smaller pocket opposite to the boot pocket. So when I get to a place I have a nice and small pack to use for holding all the misc family stuff, so the combo is perfect for my use cases.

Bought this for frequent trips to work at a mining camp. Leave my full sized bag there in storage and use this to/from site on a multiple leg flight twice a month. Great for bringing small bits of stuff back and forth without lugging a huge bag and dealing with checking it in.

Super practical pockets (including one for shoes which I use a liquids bag pocket for quick access at airport security). The included tech bag means I can leave the laptop backpack behind and is great for keeping my tech stuff handy at my seat without taking up much space.

A true all in on solution! The only complaint I’ve seen is the lack of a bottle holder, but being convertible and able to be carried in so many ways makes that a bit impractical. Easy fix was to get a clip/strap on bottle carrier that I can also clip to the tech bag for day use, so a win/win.

I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect when this Thule Subterra Carry-On arrived since I’ve never seen it in person at a store, but my first impressions of the bag was along the lines of, “I can’t wait to use this!” [Disclaimer: I haven’t actually had an opportunity to put this bag through its paces, as of this review, but I will be leaving for Switzerland in a one’s time, and will update review if there are issues] The color (“Mineral”) was reflected well on the website, and I do like the contrasting color scheme between the navy blue exterior and the bright orange interior.

The materials are high quality and the bag has good “structure” to it (i. e. it holds its shape), even if you don’t have much packed inside it. This latter “structure” issue was a common complaint from most people who purchased the Patagonia 45L MLC convertible bag, which was what I was originally going to buy.

but missed the boat on that since Altitude Sports sold out of it when I was ready to put it in my shopping cart. The main zipper compartment is also lockable, but the other zippered pockets are not. In comparison to Patagonia’s 45L MLC, none of their zippered pockets are lockable.

It’s also nice that Thule includes a separate laptop & tablet sleeve with the bag. However, if you’re thinking you’d be able to carry both on your shoulders, it’s not going to be practical, especially if you’re carrying the main bag with the backpack shoulder straps (it’s not comfortable to carry the laptop bag over any shoulder at the same time).

The only way to use both is if you used the backpack straps for the main bag and just carry the laptop sleeve by hand. And, if all you’re carrying in the sleeve is the laptop, then I would leave the sleeve at home and just put the laptop in the right-side zippered pocket where you store the laptop sleeve to save room and weight (but to each their own).

If I had one main area of improvement for the Thule Subterra 40L, it would have been to make it a 45L volume capacity, like the Patagonia 45L MLC, because when I first received it, it did seem a bit smaller than I expected.

However, with the Thule being 5L smaller in volume, you are technically increasing your chances for meeting more airline maximum carry-on dimensions (because they’re all different). And, I suppose it also forces you to pack lighter/less, which would be one of the main reasons why someone would consider purchasing a convertible carry-on bag like this.

If I had one minor area of improvement for this bag, it would have been to include a simple (expandable/stretchy) side mesh pocket so that I could place a water bottle in there. I mean, in this day in age, that really should be standard for 99% of any bag that can be worn with backpack style shoulder straps, am I right? I’m sure I’m not the only one that gets thirsty from walking/running in large international airports, and airplanes are notorious for being very dry so it’s important to keep hydrated to help with jet lag.

Overall, I still give this Thule bag a 5-star rating and do highly recommend it.

This is an OK bag, and only a few oversights are keeping it from being great. Thicker backpack straps with a mesh foam back cushion would make it truly usable as a backpack. The mesh “lid” in the main compartment should have its zipper direction reversed, so that the inside could be reached from the top without split opening the whole bag, when in backpack mode.

It would be better to move the main zipper more to the front of the bag, so that the bulk of the bag is solidly attached to the rear and only a thin lid in the front opens up. This would also allow the bag to split open without undoing the backpack straps AND enable another spot for a small pocket for various items on the top (fleece lined sunglass pocket for example).

Furthermore, this would allow the opening of the bag when its placed on its back on the ground instead of front down, as it is now. Currently the two only pockets will generally be occupied by clothes/shoes and a liquid baggy for airport security checks, leaving no empty easy access pockets for a water bottle, umbrella or anything else picked up on the way.

The main compartment also needs tie down straps. With Thule it seems that you pay for the quality, rather than the feature set. The straps are solidly sewn onto nylon webbing, all zippers and seams are done well, the bag really feels like a quality item.

But really basic oversights, like no tie down straps in the main compartment, no simple pocket for extra stuff picked up along the way (i. e. water bottles) make you really question if it’s worth the high price.

Would I recommend this as a simple grown up shoulder bag? Yes. Would I recommend it as a feature rich bag/backpack combo for everyone? No.

Do you want to put all the things for a long weekend getaway in a single bag? Reach for the Recycled Cotton Duffle. I packed 7 pairs of pants and shorts (1 pair of jeans, ) 7 tops, 2 dresses, a swimsuit and coverup, underwear, 2 bras, 2 pairs of shoes, and a Vera Bradley Hanging Travel Organizer in this duffle for a recent trip, and it all fit beautifully.

The duffel’s fabric is durable and soft, and extremely high quality for a recycled product. I appreciated the longer, wider carrying straps, including the padded detachable shoulder strap, as this was a road trip and I had to haul the bag in and out of our car and up a flight of stairs to our room.

The large exterior pockets gave me plenty of room to jam last-minute items such as cords, chargers, hairbrushes, and shawls into the duffle. Best of all, the interior lining has a light background fabric, which is not only pretty but practical: it’s easier to see your black stuff (and I have a ton of black stuff) against a light background.

I have the olive drab color, and I love its versatility. The only problem: my husband likes it, too, and he may steal it from me.

Love the colors and style. Great quality. Perfect size for traveling on an extended stay. Not too bulky, materials are sturdy enough to support a good number of items. This material is also perfect in the event something spills in the bag.

Easy to wipe clean. Storage both in and outside the bag for easy access to items. The strap is sturdy and padded to help with carrying comfortably. Overall this bag is great! I love that I have both the tote and cross body to match.

Only thing I would recommend is maybe adding wheels for ease of transporting.

I’m a college student who goes home on weekends and this bag is perfect. It is so spacious inside it holds all of my clothes and even a pair of shoes or two. There are also multiple pockets that are very useful and hold my hair products and accessories.

The duffel bag also has the most comfortable shoulder strap so you don’t have to worry about the strap digging into your shoulder and causing pain. Also, who doesn’t love butterflies? The pattern is so cute and caught my attention immediately.

All in all, this bag is amazing and definitely an upgrade from my previous bag.

We were heading to Portugal for 14 days in September 2022 and were reading about lost checked bags. So we decided we needed to carry on our luggage. I purchased the 40L Travel Bag. My traveling partner purchased another brand that holds 45L.

Not only did my 40L Nomatic carry more items, it was much more sturdy. The square design allows you to easily stack packing cubes with no wasted space. The many exterior compartments allowed for quick access of passports, charging cables, vitamins, etc.

The backpack design allowed me to effortless maneuver through airports, train stations and walking the city streets. Here’s what I was able to pack in mine for this trip. 2 pair long pants 4 pair shorts 10 t-shirts 4 polo shirts 3 dress shirts 1 pair soft leather loafers 10 pair underwear 10 pair, no show socks 1 belt 1 rain coat 1dopp kit with toiletries And I was able to add a couple shirts that I purchased in Portugal.

I purchased this bag when they were initially launching via kickstarter. I have had it for a few years and have used it a decent amount but as a carry-on bag, not a checked bag. The bag is made from nice material and seems durable – like it claims to be – however the zipper on the main pouch is separating from the material itself.

Now when I zip up the bag there are two one inch holes between the zipped zipper and the flap that closes the bag. I reached out to Nomatic but have not heard a response from them. I was initially very pleased with this company and product and raved about it to everyone I knew, but now that the durability of the product is in question and their customer service is non-responsive when I wrote to them and asked if this is a common occurrence, that tune has changed.

I am giving this 2 stars because I can still remember how much I liked it when I originally purchased it, but how disappointed I now am in the product and company as a whole. I will no longer be touting how great this bag was or sending friends and family to Nomatic when they are in need of a new bag.

I LOVE this bag, it is perfect for weekend travel trips, almost has enough room to pack for an entire week in some cases. The quality of the materials is great, it just flat out works. I purchased my first bag probably three or four years ago and had a zipper break on it.

I submitted my claim to the warranty department, who was very helpful. Unfortunately I started my claim in November of 2021 and did not get my replacement until April of 2022. I know times are tough, materials are scarce, people don’t want to work, etc.

I took all of that into consideration and just waited patiently, with some follow up emails. No love lost, when I got my replacement bag I was very happy!!! It looks to me like NOMATIC has made some upgrades.

Before going on an international trip, I did a lot of research to find the perfect travel backpack, and this was a great choice. My main criteria was 1. ) to have an easily accessible laptop pocket (separate from the main compartment of the pack) and 2.

) for it to fit under the seat in front of me so I could use it as a personal item. I have been on several airlines over the past few months, and it has fit completely under the seat in front of me each time.

I purchased the navy bag, and the bright colors are super fun. I purchased some packing cubes and also the camera bag, which I place at the base of the main compartment and safely tuck away my DSLR with no issue.

The backpack material is sturdy, and it seems like this bag will last for a long time. I was between this bag and the Cotopaxi 40L and I’m soo glad I went with Topo. I saw someone else in the airport carrying the Cotopaxi packed to the brim, and there’s no way it would fit under the seat as a personal item.

The downsides are minor, but were slightly annoying at first. I would suggest purchasing some packing cubes for this backpack to help organized and compress your clothes. At first glance, the actual main compartment was a little shallower than I wanted, but I’ve gotten used to it and it expands more than you’d think.

The small front pocket is a little difficult to access, especially when the pack is full – I could barely fit my passport and airpods in it. The laptop pocket in the middle compartment was very easy to access, though that compartment is quite flat and doesn’t hold a ton.

Overall, it’s a great compact bag to serve as a personal item. If you pack smartly, you could probably fit up to 4 days’ worth of summer clothes if you’re traveling light.

I have a rolling suitcase I use when I’m traveling by way of cabs and airports, but sometimes I want to be able to maneuver more easily, and this bag is perfect for that. If I’m taking the subway to get on a bus or a train, carrying this thing on my back through various staircases and turnstiles is so much easier than dragging a rolling bag.

It might not have quite the comfort level of a more traditional outdoorsy ~40L backpack, but if I’m carrying something on my back for shorter periods of time, I prefer to prioritize style. It’s still pretty comfortable, though, and, like all Topo products, endlessly durable, with big chunky zippers that won’t let you down.

I just bought this bag a few weeks ago. I spent a good 45 minutes trying to organize just TWO packing cubes with shorts and shirts, a pair of sandals, and a flannel shirt in the main compartment for a 3.

5-day trip. The pack barely closes if anything is bulging a bit and not lying completely flat. All the other storage compartments are nice if you only have tiny items to put them or the items are completely flat.

I also bought the Topo tech bag and it’s pretty big but barely fits in the main compartment with my two packing cubes (non-Topo). This is one additional reason the bag is hard to close. I really like the design, the storage compartments, and the carrying options but this bag is absolutely not a week-long trip bag unless you are packing ultralight with like 2 shirts, 2 pair of underwear, 1 pair of pants, 1 pair of shorts, and flip flops, in terms of clothing.

The zippers also seem like really good quality but I’m concerned that “overpacking” what this bag can handle will eventually tear the fabric that the zipper is attached too. For the super high price tag and the seemingly false advertisement around “week-long travel pack”, I’m not sure that the juice was worth the squeeze.

I’ll be seeing how it goes through the weekend and at the airport but I’m leaning towards returning the bag and looking at Cotopaxi or other similar bags and brands.

I bought this at a great price—around $40–to use as a carryon. Lots of space, lots of packets, great organization. But when I packed it to take on a recent flight it was just too heavy to schlep on my shoulder for a long time.

It would be a different story if there were wheels. So I’m gifting it to my husband since he loves it and the weight once packed is not an issue for him. I could see using it myself if we were taking a car trip but not for a train or plane trip.

This beautiful bag was a CHristmas gift for my 11year old granddaughter. She and her 15 yr old sister both received them from nana and papa. They seemed to love them. One was red and the other was navy.

The girls said the bags were perfect size and the shoulder strap attach was a huge plus. They live in Colorado and now we’re are going to order their brother one since they both loved their bags. Also both of the girls bags had a monogram on them.

Glad I didn’t have the 10 month back order really happen. Was about a month instead. Love the bag. Would like metal rings instead I think, for the handle pieces, but we’ll see how these hold up. Great quality fabric and like how it has a little internal component to hold dirty shoes or something; that was a surprise.

I purchased this after lots of comparisons. It is extremely lightweight It is so hard to have heavy bags to start with. This is 4. 6 #. It has a double type handle which is great for stacking g another bag on top the single pole type won’t support a bag they just fall off.

There is a long pocket on side with zip I closure. no other pockets inside. There is a fairly large pocket at top of bag and a full one in front. There are backpack straps that can be stored in a small pocket.

They don’t have hip belt but for occasional backpack need it’s great and they are removal if your doing more domestic travel. The wheels are larger very durable. There is a great handle on top but no side handle for lifting into bins but there is a bottom bar sort of to keep back stable in the front.

I liked the Osprey Fairview for its front pockets and tie down inside. But the backpack straps took a good part of the bag up and it was a single pole handle. they are both 40 liters and carry on size.

the wheels on the Fairview were larger also nice for travel internationally. It also had a more back pack look to it. I was ok with that but the features seemed more usable for all needs with this bag.

I’ve only had one chance to use this bag since buying it a few weeks ago, but so far so good! After packing it full of clothes and finding the zipper satisfyingly smooth and easy to deal with, I checked the bag on an international flight through multiple airports.

I was a little worried that the small stabilizer that sticks out from the bottom of the bag to keep it standing might be immediately destroyed, and I’m still a little worried by how much it sticks out, so far it’s holding up well! My only minor complaint is that the outer material got extremely dirty while being checked, and there are a number of big black marks standing out on the front of the bag after its first use.

Fortunately, it looks like it’s just cosmetic, so not a big deal.

I just took this duffle on a two week trip in Italy. It was perfect in that I could fit more than expected and easy to lift and load into the overheard compartments with the handles on each end. The wheels handled the cobblestones just fine and when we ran into a lot of stairs at the train stations I was able to easily take out the straps and carry it like a backpack.

The fabric is super durable, but it doesn’t have a lot of give/stretch which makes sense but don’t expect to be able to stuff in a few last minute items if the bag is full. Would recommend travel cubes to fit everything in.

This is a great carry on that maximizes space. I used it for a 5 day trip and fit everything in it easily. It rolls very well and doesn’t tip over when you stand it up. As with every other Osprey product, the construction is done using durable materials.

I wouldn’t change anything about it.

Cute travel bag and small enough to serve as a large purse. It is an inexpensive designer statement. There are end zipper compartments that carry quite a bit and the shoulder strap is handy when you have lots of things to manage as you travel.

It doesnt present itself as falling apart any time soon and I am eager to take it on its first jaunt in a few weeks. I found a zebra scarf with hot pink borders to wear when I carry this so watch for me!.

The tapestry is pretty. The strings on the bag were not clipped which shows no pride in workmanship. The alligator clips are not aligned correctly on the ring. Although the wheels and base look as if the bag can stand alone on its end, it falls forward.

\nThe inside is very roomy. If the inside is packed, the side pockets do not have extra give for items so, you need to pack the pockets first – such as shoes.

I needed a bag for a a United budget flight. This will be the right dimensions. I read reviews about a chemical smell. I didnt notice a bad smell. I put a few dryer sheets in the bag because It will be a few months before I go.

It seems to be made well. There are several pockets and a shoulder strap. I am very happy with the purchase.

I had ordered the 16. works great for wknd trips. Wanted one a little bigger for longer trips. Received the 19 and has a terrible smell!! Tried different things to get rid of the smell, but NOTHING has worked.

I love the bag, but the smell keeps me from using at all. Very disappointing.

This is my 5th bag of one type or another from Maxpedition and as expected it did not disappoint. Not cheap but extremely well made and designed. I bought this as a gym bag as I have their wheeled carryon for flying.

I added a few PALS/MOLLE pouches to the outside and have a custom configured bag for everyday gym ops. My kids will probably end up inheriting these bags as theyre so well made. Again, not cheap, but I think these are the best bags on the market.

Its a great bag, well made and roomy. You can easily pack clothes for a week maybe more. Lots of pockets and comes with straps do you can carry it like a back pack. You can install luggage locks on the main compartment.

There are compression straps all over. You wont be dissatisfied if you buy this bag.

I was able to pack this bag with sufficient clothing and sundries for a five day trip and could have packed more into it if needed. It is fairly lightweight for such a sturdy and solid bag. The backpack straps are a huge advantage for carrying it through airports or anywhere for that matter.

It also has the capability of strapping numerous items on the outside of the bag if necessary. I’m very happy with this purchase.

So as you can tell by the title, Im not a fan of the grab handles on this bag. Peak Design designed a bag that is great in every way, but one. The slightly-less-than-doctor-bag like opening, the very nice and large zipper, and the well placed attachment loops.

The thoughtful side flap magnets that keep them nice and neatly folded when the shoulder strap isnt in use. The weather proofing, the perfect carry-on size, and the very durable nylon material made from recycled plastic is all so great.

Then theres the handles (and to a lesser extent the shoulder strap). The magnet barely holds the two sides together and even if they did, theyre flat and expecting people to hold them, how they look to be intended, makes no sense.

Theres only one way to hold these barely-magnetized-at-all-so-why-even-do-it handles and thats to hold them flat, together. Put one stacked on top of the other, then roll the handles a full turn, just to keep them from coming apart while holding the bag.

But why Why should anyone have to do this, (and you should if you want to hold this bag by the handles) just to carry their $130 bag? I dont know why the same care they put into literally every other detail, didnt get put into their handles and strap, but it definitely did not!.

I’ve been eyeing this particular bag for a long time. I am an owner of many PD products and so I knew that this bag would be another awesome bag to add to my collection. Hands down, it is built very well.

I love the material used and the pockets and zippers internally and externally. The duffel does not completely collapse on itself like other duffels and does feel more protective. It is probably heavier than similarly sized counterparts but the functionality and design really makes up for a little extra weight – which I prefer! The shoulder strap/sling is comfortable and I really can’t say enough positive things about this bag.

If you have packing cubes, you can use them in the duffel without a hiccup. Sure it’s just a duffel bag but worth the money and I may purchase another one for my girlfriend!.

I really like the Peak Design Duffel. I bought it with the PD Large Travel Cube. I have a good hiking backpack, good size holds two lenses my camera and either two water bottles or one and my tripod.

I did not want another backpack. I wanted a duffel that would fit the rest of my travel gear to make it easier to pick up a go. I now have two bags that I can put in the back of my Explorer and easily go out on photo trips.

Really easy to travel. BTW, I have also hidden GPS tracking chips in both of my bags.

Early days but loving this bag. Build quality is excellent. The bag folds into its end pocket which is a nice touch for storage. The harness straps are very easy to attach/remove and comfortable even when fully loaded.

They also attach to the top of the bag ie. the surface that doesn’t touch the floor, I’ve had other models that attach to the bottom of the bag and this means floor grime is on your back. They also combine across the bag as a carry handle rather than needing extra materials.

Colour is bright so it stands out on the luggage carousel. Large chunky zippers help with opening and closing especially when full. Internal compression straps help with loads. Bright (yellow) lining makes finding things easier.

In fact the taped end seems seem over engineered and seem to add bulk, maybe someone brighter than I can explain. Lots of very sturdy exterior haul loops and double daisy chains add to the haul versatility.

My only gripe is that the two internal pockets are zippered at the end of the bag that is fixed rather than the ‘flap’ end which makes utilizing one of them difficult. This however doesn’t detract from a 5 star rating.

As travel opens up I see this being my go to gear bag.

Good mid sized duffel, good number of small pockets for small items, the shoulder straps are a little janky, where they attach with a small webbing loop it always seems to twist around itself nine times.

I want to give it four stars but this is one of those little details that is so obvious that missing it keeps you at a C level. Bring your B game, Mountain Hardwear!! There’s a split purpose here, it’s like a duffel bag that you might wear as a backpack once in a while, but 99% of the time you just throw one over your shoulder so it’s a bit off balance and the tricky straps just get in the way and catch doorknobs and stuff.

I’m modifying mine to have one strap that acts as a shoulder strap, then it’s a winner!.

Solid bag all around! The material is thicker and more durable feeling than I expected. Packs down really small for storage and the backpack straps were a life saver. They can even be Velcroed together to make a normal carrying strap.

There are a few inner pockets for the small stuff and straps to keep your gear in place. 10/10 would recommend.

Excellent bag! Great size for day trips with toddlers where I need to pack multiple items, change of clothes etc… It keeps it shape which I really like compared to other backpacks that I’ve owned. I love the separate compartments insides with zippers, it makes everything organized, accessible and neat.

I would recommend!.

Love this bag so much, it has become a staple in all our family’s day & weekend trips. Helps me pack so efficiently with many varied compartments…the manufacturers thought of everything! Comfortable to wear as backpack as well.

Will be our new carry-on.

I travel internationally quite frequently and have been looking for a backpack like this because I don’t like to check bags! This is the perfect carry-on size and has so many easily accessible compartments to store both clothes and work/school supplies.

It is also motorcycle-friendly, like many other Fjällräven products. Great quality material, very neat and clean looking exterior, and can be carried multiple ways. This brand is very trustworthy.

I got this bag a while ago and it is by far the best carry on bag I have ever owned – and I have quite a collection. Over the years I tried many bags, including an expensive Tumi bag. While the Tumi weekender is great, this Target bag is just as good – if not better.

It certainly stands out for value. I love the many well thought through compartments and the ability to slip over a trolley handles. I am always looking for easily accessible outside compartments to quickly get to travel documents and this bag leaves nothing to desire.

Most bags don’t have a bottle carrier to keep your hands free. The laptop pouch is excellent and I particularly like the button to keep it attached the the bag’s side rather than blocking access to other compartments by the laptop’s weight pulling it to the center of the bag.

There is also a handy key strap so keys can be found easily. Being able to secure the bag handles is also another useful feature, preventing them from getting in the way when slipping the bag to the trolly handles.

I have had other bags where I had to wrangle a handle out of the way First which is annoying. Having 2 neutral color options is also very appealing. While black is elegant and goes with everything, it is always somewhat harsh; not to mention that matching dark interiors make it difficult to find things.

This one of my major complaints with dark colored purses, too. Without a flashlight it takes time to find things quickly, especially if they are dark colored as well like a wallet, sunglasses, etc. The taupe color I chose is actually more like grey which I really like.

It is very neutral. If there is anything I would have done differently, minor as it is, are the gold zippers. Personally, I always prefer more low key silver, grey or black ones to blend with the bag color.

But the gold zippers are not flashy and thus are ok. Overall, this bag leaves absolutely nothing to be desired, in terms of quality, features and value. And it looks great, too.

Great looking bag, lots of pockets for organization. Seems like good quality. One caveat – honestly, this applies to any bag of this style, it’s very awkward/heavy to carry on its own when full. If you’re only planning to use this in conjunction with rolling luggage so that you can take advantage of the luggage strap (ie if you’ll almost never be lifting this thing yourself, always rolling it around perched on top of your suitcase) then it’s a great buy.

If you’re thinking of using this for a quick 1-3 day trip as your only luggage…I’d think twice. It might work ok if you’re not walking far with it, but if there’s any sort of distance between when you pick this up and when you’re able to set it down, it’s horrible.

Even a few blocks in NYC with a full bag where almost unbearable painful for me. I immediately returned this and purchased the Mother Lode bag from eBags. Open Story sells a similar backpack style bag as well.

Personally, I’d suggest purchasing the backpack. It’s more flexible and thus a more economical buy.

Love this bag. Very good sturdy quality. It looks like it would hold up very well in the long run. I bought both colors for my husband and I weekend travel bag and bought another as a girlfriend gift.

Depends how much you pack, this fits a 2day trip for me. To make it a 5 star, I wished it came with more colors choices as I wanted to get more for my kids travel bag. And I wished it would come with various size.

I would like to get a size a little larger than this to fit a 3 day weekend bag. Overall I really love this bag. Zipper and buckle straps good thick quality. It doesn’t seem like it would break easily.

Will love to bring this on my next trip. High quality and beautiful plus functional. Perfection. I have purchased several Patricia Nash items with the European Map design. Love it! Highly recommend. Easy to operate.

This and adorable bag. It is very comfortable and roomy, serving travel purposes in the sense that it is a good size, very light weight and the wheels run smoothly. I do not give it 5 stars because the handles are a bit too stiff, but I hope they will soften with time and wear.

Weekly I use my new Patricia Nash European Map soft side Avola Trolley Wheeled Duffle bag for my staycation travels. Holds all my personal special items. Love how the trolley was designed.

I bought this bag to replace a cheap Muji backpack that was hurting my shoulders and also not water resistant enough to deal with NYC weather. I usually travel around town with my laptop, notebooks, and some gym clothes.

This bag is a little bigger than I need for daily life, but it is so comfortable that it’s worth it. The plus size is that it’s big enough for an overnight trip, or even a weekend trip if you pack light.
