20 Best Travel Tote For Europe (2023 Updated)

I’ve been teaching art for 23 years and often find myself hauling things to and from school. I had a nice dividend to spend and decided to treat myself to this tote (nordic purple). I also purchased the sidekick.

I don’t think I will ever need to purchase another tote again! This thing is a beast. The quality is worth the money. Even without the dividend I would’ve purchased it! The inside has two big zippered pockets.

There are also two pop out dividers on both sides. I like to put my water bottle in one of those sections because I don’t have to worry about it tipping over. If I use this as a weekend bag I can put an extra pair of shoes in those sections, as well.

I purchased a neoprene sleeve for my computer to protect it when inside. The bag has some weight to it but there are two straps big enough to throw over your shoulder and there are two handles closer to the bag making it easier to lift and carry.

I love the fact that it can stand on its own and not tip or slouch over. There is a little hook at the top to secure both sides together. The sidekick is easy to attach, stays put when attached and was perfect for the beach allowing me to store my phone and keys safely.

Ever since my husband bought me the first grey carryall that came out I absolutely love it. Since then I have bought 2 more since the color selection grew. The corral is so beautiful, and the pink one is just different and gorgeous.

I use the carryall bags for many things and occasions. Its my go to bag all along with ALL my other Yeti products. Mom of 5 I am always ready. I use one for in and out the store purchases (better than the cheapies), one is for the gym, and the other is for anything like a weekend trip, an outing with the kids, a function, etc.

endless reasons to have one. People always compliment my bags and I am like a walking commercial for Yeti. I swear, so many tell me that. I can’t help but show excitement for the love I have for yeti.

But Yeti does live up to the capabilities of the waterproof and it can definitely hold some weight per my experience. A yeti cooler stays in the back of my truck for any cold groceries and it allows me to NOT have to go straight home, the hopper is great for the inside of my truck for cold or hot drinks, food, or snacks and its never in the way.

This bag was purchased on a whim, but it has quickly replaced my briefcase for work and my ski bag on weekends because it is very sturdy and stands on its own. It fits, very easily, a laptop, iPad, books, ski straps, left-over mittens from the weekend.

I could go on but I think it’s clear that this bag has tremendous utility. Yes, other totes are less expensive but this one can be (and has been) hosed down, dropped in a muddy parking lot at the ski hill, carry anything I need and it stands up.

Really great purchase. One star was removed ONLY because the new model has deployable interior dividers which I would really like.

I love Baggallini bags and I really want to LOVE, not just kind of like, this tote. I purchased the yellow Laminated Carryall Tote. I’ll start with the pros. the color is bright and beautiful (if you like yellow), it comes with a cool, colorful, stylish extra strap and it is large with LOTS of convenient pockets.

There are two large pockets on the inside, sides of the bag that are great for water bottles of all sizes, suntan lotions etc. The small zipped pocket inside is nice for my phone and small wallet and there are 4 pockets on the outside of the bag (2 on each side) for items.

The Cons. the yellow gets dirty easily and fast and SHOWS the dirt. Mine actually came with dirt spots on it. I was able to wash them off; but, stains don’t come off as easily as I had hoped; you have to scrub! My biggest issue is the bag is flimsy!! It doesn’t stand up on its own and this if very annoying when I am trying to pack it.

The sides constantly fall in on my stuff or over to one side or the other. When I sit my bag beside me at the pool or beach, I can’t easily reach into it and get items because the bag has flopped in and over itself (I hope this makes sense).

For the price point of this bag, I feel the sides should be made of material that is not so flimsy. They should be sturdy enough to stand up. I love the pockets, but knowing the quality of this bag, I wouldn’t purchase it again at $120.

At first I purchased the Large Carryall, and for a weekend where you are going away and have to take ALL of your necessities, then it’s a great bag. My need was for weekends traveling locally where I already have toiletries and hair tools available, and would only need to take clothing.

When I opened the package that the Medium Carryall came in, I knew that THIS IS MY BAGG! I felt totally satisfied. No need to look any further for the perfect bag. For me, the front Large pockets and two Nice size back slip pockets, on both bags are what sets the Carryall Totes apart from all the other Travel / Tote bag options.

And expandable! I need to take a pair of shoes or two, my large tumbler (full) , a change of clothes, pajama’s, and movies! Even my computer will fit. The Medium is perfect! I love the size. It IS flattering, sleek, and nice to wear.

It has the perfect flexible drape / shape to it that I wanted. Love the long shoulder strap option! I purchased the black. It’s gorgeous! I love baggallini for thinking of simple things that others don’t offer like light colored interior’s and wonderful smooth zippers that won’t tarnish over time.

Easy to keep looking nice, and have just the right amount of subtle shimmer to the fabric. This is the classy but sporty bag I was daydreaming of! Now I’l just daydream about having another in the Black Tie/Dye or the Petal Print someday!.

There were no pictures of this bag on a mannequin or a real person on any website that I could use to tell exactly what I was getting before I purchased. It’s nice, of course!! Purchased in the Quilted Black, which is a nice play on the Polyester.

But here’s my thinking. If you are packing for a Whole weekend, then this is a Perfect size bag for that. If you are a light packer or just packing for a quick Overnight, I’d go with the Medium Carryall.

What do I like about it? Versatility of ways to carry it; it’s pliable; the front pockets will fit a pair of sandals or flats each, but for tennis shoes, one shoe per pouch; it opens wide enough to see into, with a light grey/taupe interior; no more cramming for me.

I can actually fold or roll my clothing and see them in this bag; the bottom of the bag is flat and has a hard enough bottom, so it can possibly sit upright depending on how you pack it. It’s not the sexiest bag, meaning figure flattering, but I think it will look better the more I put in it.

I like it crossbody or shoulder strapped. I just got it today and have been playing around with it, and as I use it, I’ll like the size of it more. I can fit my large tumbler in one of the outside pockets, too.

To clarify for others one of the questions I was having about it: It measures 16 inches long at the very bottom and then wedges upwards to barely over 21 inches long for most of the bag. I don’t really consider it a sporty bag, but it is a travel bag to my mind; a Weekender Tote, which is actually what I was looking for.

There is also a little ring inside that you could clip something else to. As always with Baggallini, the zippers are smooth, the construction well-done, the hardware is great and has a gunmetal sheen to it on this color option.

The more I list it’s positives, the happier I am with it. Let’s just say, I will NOT be returning it!!.

A few years back, I owned tons of PVC purses. After reading about their possible health issues to users, I ditched them and literally hunted for canvas tote with a black and white design. You know how hard that is? I previously bought a down coat from this site and decided to give the tote a try.

I didn’t even know they sold these totes although I have seen them off and on through the years. When the tote arrived, I was totally in love with it. The material is a brick house and the design of buffalo plaid is super cute.

I officially have designer totes gathering dust in my closet because this is my go-to bag. I have had a lot of compliments on it already. I really love the inside pockets too. A lot of totes out there don’t have wrap around inside pockets like this tote.

A very user-friendly bag. I plan on buying more Land’s End bags and won’t be buying any Louis Vuittons. Rather than spending $2400 on a high-end designer tote, spend less than $100 on this tote and invest the rest in an index fund.

Plus, if you are worried about how heavy it is, don’t. It will last and you don’t have to worry about it cracking and peeling like faux leather does. Land’s End, thanks for a great tote!!.

Love the durability and the various options Lands End offers on their canvas bags. And the pockets are a huge plus! I have ordered many of these as gifts over the years in all different sizes and options depending on the need.

Medium is perfect for packing essential items to attend an outdoor event. Large works well for someone in need of a weekend getaway bag. And the x-large was purchased for someone who does a lot of family camping.

Whatever the need, there is a size to accommodate it! I was the slightest bit disappointed this time around that the willow green color was darker than it appeared on my monitor. But not enough to be a deal breaker at the sale price offered.

I like the nice vintage vibe of the pattern and received great bags at great prices. And I’m sure there will be some happy campers when they receive them!.

The bag is exceptionally high quality, at a very fair price. It is a really strong, well-designed bag, with 5 variably-sized interior pockets, in addition to the main compartment, and even a strap with a carabiner clip.

And it has an outside pocket. It is as strong as can be. I love the bag. Actually I bought the extra large one, and it was too big, and then a I bought the medium one and it was a little too small, and then I bought the large one, and it is perfect.

I’ve looked for just such a bag for decades. This one is perfect. It is so functional, and I have seen much less high-quality canvas bags for considerably more money. So, I could not be happier with my purchases.

I have many Scout products and just added the BJ tote this summer. Many beach bags are full once you throw in a couple of towels but, not this one. You still have room for your sunscreen, snacks (l put 3 boxes of crackers and a bag of chips) and more.

The outside pockets are great for your items you need to access quickly. I will continue to add to my Scout collection. I recommend them to all my friends!! Scout never disappoints!!!!.

I bought this bag for my mom for work and had to buy one for myself as well. It’s a great bag as healthcare workers as the material is easy to clean. The pockets on the outside make organization easy for things like water bottle, phone and keys.

This is my 4th SCOUT bag and I can’t say enough good things about them. Well made, excellent sizing and handy features make them fantastic for so many things. This one is particularly awesome because of the top zip closure, side pockets and heavy duty bottom.

I have been buying the Everywhere Bagg for over 10 years. I have bought probably a dozen of them because there was always a zippered pocket to organize my belongings. Over the years, this bag has less and less zippered pockets.

The latest to go away was the small zippered pocket on the front that I used as a change purse. The zippered pockets on either end of the outside of the bag have changed to an open-top pocket on one end and an expanding water bottle zippered pocket on the other end.

When these were both small zippered compartments, I used one for my keys and the other for my phone accessories. The open-top pocket is useless for anything but a rolled up magazine. The water bottle pocket is not anything I carry on a regular basis either.

Also, with the latest incarnation, the strap isn’t as wide and the webbing of the strap doesn’t seem as sturdy and durable. If this latest version was my first Everywhere Bagg, I probably would rate it higher because I hadn’t experienced the original.

I will guardedly recommend it to a friend, but not the glowing review of years past. When I go to replace this bag I sadly will be looking elsewhere.

These are my favorite luggage ever because they are lightweight and can fold away when not in use, plus and most importantly, they are machine washable. They don’t have a plastic lining, so they have no problems in the spin cycle.

They also look high end enough not to be embarrassing to travel with, even though they are relatively cheap. I don’t use them for flying, but have used them when traveling by car to hotels and other places.

They work great at what they are designed to do.

I thought I would use this lightweight bag for travel to carry a large amount of soft items (not fragile) on an international trip. However it is more suited for local use than travel. The handles do not attach in any way (photo is misleading) – so I used a ribbon to tie them together.

The zippers open too easily, they don’t really stay secure – again ok for local trips but not for airline handling. The weight is great – very lightweight.

We have at least 10 Duffle bag. We are using them for storage. Our 4 kids are studying at the university. We used them on our last roadtrip on the east coast in 2017. We left our 5 Suitcases ( spinner) by family in Brooklyn and we used 3 tote-a-tone for our roadtrip.

We had 3 bag in the luggage compartment, no need to rent a very big car, we stop when we want to visit a museum or go to the restaurant without having little to leave luggage visible to everyone in the car.

I loved the extra large tote bag that I bought previously but it was a little too big to fit comfortably under the seat on the airplane so I bought the traveler tote which I love as well. The only thing I wish the traveler tote has was the pick up handle that the extra large tote had.

The smaller handle is easier to use to lift the tote on and off my suitcase and grab while traveling. Hope that its added to the next design of the tote.

This is a very nice tote. It has plenty of space for carrying many things and is almost like a small suitcase. Even so, it still fits nicely beneath the seat in front of you on the airplane. Great bag.

This bag seems built to last. I’ve been using it frequently over the past month or so. The pockets are roomy and easy to shove things in and out of. It cleans up beautifully. Overall, I’m very happy with it.

So versatile! From traveling to Europe or just a girls weekend there is nothing this bag can’t handle. The backpack strap was perfect for seeing the sites in Italy and switching the strap to the cross body was perfect for a girls weekend in Tahoe.

Back home using it as a tote for work was perfect for lap top & file folders…no need for a purse…all personal items fit! Materials look nice and are durable. I’m going to get one for my daughter!.

Perfect companion to the carry on bag. The strip across the back enables you to place this atop the carry on bag and be held in place by the carry on handle. The magnetic closure on the little front pocket assures the cell phone won’t fall out.

The bag is large enough for a folder to fit inside, and the padded pocket inside protects a computer or iPad well. The overall design is well thought out.

This bag is well designed. It is spacious enough to pack everything you need for the day including water bottle and lunch bag, but does not overwhelm smaller frames. The shoulder straps are also long enough so you can easily reach into the tote and they also stay secure on your shoulder when you’re on the move.

Lightweight and very durable. Easily packed into a backpack or suitcase. I used this as a personal item on a recent flight and was surprised at what I could fit into it. Shoulder strap length is perfect and long enough to wear comfortably.

Material looks durable and nice. Easy to clean and light. Straps could have been more comfortable and it would have been really cool to have a bottle section like the new model but the price was hard to beat when on special, totally worth it!.

I bought the Atom pack just before a weeklong vacation, and it was a great companion. The size is exactly what I wanted – big enough for what I needed on an in-flight personal item, but not so big that it could get cumbersome or obtrusive in a city environ.

It fits far more than it looks like it does due to its boxy shape, but it’s still compact enough to leave enough room for my feet when under the airplane seat in front of me. The oversized stretch water bottle pockets on the side will fit just about any water bottle while not impacting internal volume – in fact, I fit two 20 oz Camelbak Eddy’s in one pocket.

The detachable padded sleeve is a nice touch, as well. It’s also quite comfortable, even fully loaded. The only demerit is that it could use a bit more internal organization features. But overall, I’d definitely recommend this bag.

I went too many years with a day pack too large for my 5’4” size. This one fits my back much better. And it works as a personal item for most airlines. No need for a hip belt. But the little cross-chest strap makes a difference at keeping the bag in a comfortable place if on the trail.

The inside is spacious and the laptop pocket and sleeve at the back helps organize, as does the deep zipper pocket at the front. The only thing that would bring it over the top would be some reflective tape.

I bought this as a ‘personal item’ for traveling (at 20L, its dimensions comply w/ most intl airlines). It suited this purpose perfectly. Very handy to have the laptop sleeve, bottle holders on each side, loops for carabiners, and top handle.

Made security lines a breeze. Very sturdy and withstood transatlantic travel. No complaints. Will be great for regular/daily use, commuting to work, etc. , as well. And the look is cute.

Exactly what I wanted. Light and functional.

The nice rectangular shape makes this an easy fit inside a carryon piece of luggage, even in a teardrop shaped conventional day pack since the thin nylon readily conforms to the available space. The upgrade to 20L is neat, but the tote can quickly get heavy so it’s not designed for multiple metal water bottles or camera gear (Osprey 13L much better for heavier tasks).

Where this excels is for bulkier but lighter stuff like warm layers at colder destinations (or flip flops at a beach), and as an ultralight place to dump stuff in flight. Well also for shopping for clothes locally.

I will often pack this with inflight items, do my ground transits with it stowed in my carryon, then pull it out at the gate for use at my seat. Restore after landing for the security transit. The space it takes up, empty, and it’s weight, are each so negligible there’s no penalty for bringing it along.

It also makes a great packing cube, and unlike a single purpose packing cube, doubles as a tote on arrival. Quality is much better than 15 years ago when REI’s “stuff” line wasn’t as sturdy or as well detailed.

Now the stuff travel tote and stuff duffel are top of their class. If you need a crossbody strap, grab the outgoing design before it sells out.

Was at my local REI shopping for holiday gifts and spotted this bad boy on a 50% off end cap display. I have a soft spot for things that stuff into their own pockets, so naturally I had to have it. It was inexpensive enough that if I only used it for groceries or running errands I was happy.

But turns out that it’s REALLY well constructed, durable, functional, and cute! (blue/orange pattern) It’s literally perfect for the day’s odds and ends: extra layer, dog leashes, snacks, small items like lip balm and phone are handy in the inner zip pocket (that it turns itself into), and slip front pocket tall enough for skinny long water bottles, or 2 because the pocket stretches! And I can chuck it anywhere in the car because the main compartment zips closed! So many cute and/or packable totes don’t do this.

The material is very light and packable, but sturdy and has strong webbing straps. It’s the perfect size, not too big, not too small. I literally take this tote with me everywhere, either using it or stuffed in a bigger bag for shopping or incidentals.

Have also used it for work holding a small binder and tablet. Favorite usage (don’t tell): sneaking all items I like to have handy for travel onto the plane – snacks (clearly very important), sanitizer, lip balm, hand lotion, scarf, wallet, phone, tablet, cords, water bottle, extra napkins for the hubby.

Attendants would try to shake me down as I board for carry on rules if I had a small backpack AND a small tote/purse for those items, even though they both got under the seat fine. Now I just use a food bag for the items and the tote (they don’t fuss bc they think it’s food you bought after security), then transfer all items to the tote and zip securely once on the plane.

Clever design and great quality. Perfect size to use as a small daypack as a backback alternative – easily fits a 32 oz. Nalgene bottle, small blanket/towel, snacks and miscellany. Interior zippered pocket is great for wallet/phone and key clip is a nice touch.

Outside pocket is also handy, though I might attach a snap or velcro strip on the top edge of it for more security. I like the fact that I can carry this as a tote or cross body. Carry straps are a little narrow but serviceable.

And although I am not smallish (5’10″/190), I found the strap long enough to wear the bag cross-body without having to replace it. Very happy with this purchase.

I have some nice leather bags, but I keep coming back to my LL Bean Everyday Lightweight Totes for my day to day. I actually keep the mini inside the medium. When I need to run an errand, I grab the mini with my wallet, keys, and phone.

I carry the medium to work with all the various and sundry things we tend to carry day to day. I have an older pattern (maybe a black Stewart?) and this tan one. I love both, and would love some springy colors for the warmer weather.

I also have the solid medium, large, and extra large totes for the beach/ boat, traveling, and for my step-children’s toy bags for when we visit family (which is quite reguarly). They’re machine washable, air dry, easy to store, and always seem to look great.

I ordered the red buffalo plaid bag in medium to use as a daycare bag for my newborn and had her name monogrammed on it. The bag arrived quickly and it’s perfect! It holds changes of clothes, bottles, and a lunch box with room to spare.

Super lightweight so it’s easy to hand off each morning and I love the zippered top to keep everything securely inside. The monogram helps make sure there are no mix-ups with any other children. Highly recommend as an idea for a baby shower gift!.

I love this “Everyday Lightweight Totes, Mini”!!! I have the Apple Cinnamon and love it for Fall! It’s perfect for running errands and quick trips where I won’t be staying all day. Plenty room for my billfold and a small pouch for my keys, lipstick, pen, stylus, short comb, tissues and mints.

Add my smartphone and it’s just right. The only problem is I would love 2 more colors for Winter and Spring/Summer!!!.

This bag is voluminous without being bulky. Bought for an upcoming trip on an airline with weight restrictions even in business class but used it last week on our regular carrier. We are carry on only and this bag holds a lot while still sitting on top of wheeled bag.

The interior slip pockets on the front wall are great for organizing smaller items. I was concerned about the trolley sleeve due to other reviewers stating it was too small, but perhaps they didn’t unzip the bottom completely.

It slid easily over the handle of my three carryons that I use from three major brands. We travel a lot and I change out bags according to my needs. I will be able to pack all of my camp clothes in packing cubes for an Australian adventure with bush planes (10kg weight limit and no wheeled bags allowed).

I wish I had bought this years ago for South Africa bush trips. You need this bag.

This is a versatile bag with an eye catching pop of color. The interior includes 3 unpadded open pockets where I keep my sunblock, tools, pens, and other small essential items. There is also one unpadded zipper pouch which I use to store money and basic first aid items.

The main compartment has ample room for a light sweater, tech items, magazine, park maps, snacks, and 16oz water bottle. I found that my 32oz water bottle was too tall for the tote and made zipping the bag awkward.

Neither water bottle would fit in the interior pouches and there is not another dedicated spot for a water bottle, which i would have preferred. I plan on keeping the tote in my SUV so that I can grab it and go for whatever adventures pop up throughout the day.

I use this tote when traveling cross-country via Amtrack. A bag like this is handy when using one of Amtrack’s sleeping car options. This tote is particularly hand because of the interior pockets. Other totes I’ve used don’t have pockets so it’s difficult to find specific items.

Also the tote is pretty much waterproof. It also has a slide pocket so it can be looped on the handle of wheeled luggage. It is a bit larger than I imagined, even after I noted the posted dimensions, but I still think it’s a good design.

I LOVE this bag. It can be wet-wiped clean which I love during Covid or if I spill a water bottle it is pretty much waterproof. I’m a MOM, and I put everything in here each time I go out with my kid.

I can fit whatever I want or he wants in there ie; snacks, baby wipes, sanitizer wipes, a soccer ball for practice, just about anything! Best thing is theres a little pocket in front where I stick my phone in for easy access.

Very comfy cross shoulder strap as well single shoulder handle if you choose. The bag is build solid, so it can take some rough handling. Only one thing I wish it had and thats a zipper to close it shut, though it seems to work just fine regardless.

Bought this bag for work, and I love all the storage and compartments. However, I wish the bag had a zipper closure or at least snap closure in the center because when I use the extended handle, it gaps open awkwardly when the bag is full (which, you know, you buy a bag to put things in it).

When I use the shorter shoulder handles, the lack of closure is not a problem at all; however, the extended handle was a feature I was excited about.
