20 Best Trailer Tie Down System (2023 Updated)

I used to have a strap going all the way across the back end of the boat. Hated it. Switched to two regular ratchet style in the back. It was a little nicer but still struggled here and there. I got these and wow.

ultra fast and easy for loading and unloading. One of my favorite purchases for my boat/trailer.

These Transom tiedowns are great. Don’t need to remove and store anything, they stay attached to your trailer. The ratchet is great to tighten up.

Well designed, good quality tie down. Replaced cheaper set of buckle tie downs that kept loosening while towing my boat. I have not had a lot of this time with the new tie downs yet but look forward to when boating season is back!.

You’ll always have a need for ratchet straps, I don’t care who you are what you do for a living, or if you even drive a truck. These are able to reuse the original container to hold them, so already that’s a win because they won’t be everywhere and not know where they are when you need them.

No I haven’t put them through their paces yet but I can tell they’re solid. Would buy them again and can tell they’re gonna live a nice life.

I used these to strap down a 700lb motorcycle. Checked them occasionally and all was good the first 600kms. Checked them after 700kms and they had stretched out and the bike was laid down. Would not recommend these straps.

Bought these when they were 70% off and still not worth the money. The ratchet itself is poorly designed and 2/4 are completely broken. I use them mostly for tying down snowmobiles which need a couple ratchets to actually suck the machines down.

If you crank them more than a couple turns they bind and won’t release. I’ve bought many cheap straps over the years and will never buy anything but Erickson again. I have had Erickson straps last me 5+ years with weekly use, no complaints.

These Motomaster ones are junk and I would have returned them after the first use if I had kept the receipt.

Do yourself a favor and get a pair (or several) of these if you ever need to secure a motorcycle in a truck or trailer. Quit messing around with cheap straps that slip, break, and have tails that always come loose and chafe up your bike.

I never thought something as simple as some pull straps would make such a difference, but it really does make the process a lot easier, a lot more secure, and you can finally stop looking in the rear view every 4 seconds thinking “is the bike leaning more than it was a second ago?” Anchor end has a snap-closure, so no worries it might accidentally slip off the anchor point in a big bump, and much stronger than an open-side hook.

Strap is wide, easy to grip/pull, and clearly much stronger than Has a velcro strap to fold up the excess and neatly secure it, so it’s not flapping around chafing the hell out of your bike. Bike end has a “soft tie” loop built in, so no hard hooks or fittings touch your bike.

The first time a bike falls over on the trailer or lays over for a nap after hitting a pothole, or you find the side of a tank chafed and scuffed all to hell after the 17 knots you tied in the excess strap came loose and flapped against it for the past 200 miles, you’ll really be happy about the $20 saved buying tie downs at harbor freight.

Love everything about these. The swivel carabiner is such a nice touch. Never again will the hook fall off the anchor point just seconds before synching down on the straps, nor will your strap have tangles in it.

More expensive than other straps, but worth every penny. And of course soft straps to save your handle bars too. A must buy!.

Great tie-downs! Love these. The design with soft loop and swivel carabiner is perfect. The Velcro for holding the excess strap is a plus, keeping your tie down nice and neat. Material and buckles are strong and seem durable.

Overall great quality. I definitely recommend and will buy again.

They work great when I need them. I use these straps 4 to 6 times a year & have not had any real issues. They may be hard to release at times, but nothing serious. I would recommend these to anyone that needs straps from time to time.

Not sure how they would hold up, if they were used daily or even weekly. These straps are very easy to use – straight forward.

I have used straps for various reasons over the years. I thought I had a good idea last time with the 2 inch 20 foot ratchet straps like you see on trucks. They work great except their storage becomes a tangles mess.

Now that I have the Retractable Ratchet Strap, I have it all. I have the ease of use with a STRONG that stores away ORGANIZED with ease. No more tangled straps requiring my time before I use it. Push the red retracting button and the strap stores neatly within the ratchet reel.

Love the way this product addresses all of the function needs of the user. I bought these straps to hold my Smart car on my RV tow semi. Push the red button and the straps return to the minimum space required and they are neatly put in storage until the next use.

If you want convenience, do not have a heavy object to tie down, keep them out of the weather and lubricated with a dry lubricant, these are definitely for you. If not, they are a luxury item that costs too much for what they are and you will assuredly discard them within 3 years because the retractors will fail.

I know this because I have a dozen of them. They were reasonably priced, under $20 for a pair about 4 years ago, but the manufacturer has priced them well beyond inflation. So, take them or leave them.

If you want a neat clean look when you trailer your motorcycle, buy these. You don’t have the extra rachet straps tails to untangle. These buckles are the greatest. Buy them and you’ll get rid of those old tangled rachet straps.

Searched long and hard to find these So many cheap and nasty similar products out there but only these ones were what I was looking for If you want a great product that will secure you precious cargo you cant get better than these Dont buy the cheap crap Thoroughly recommend !.

I have four of these in my motorcycle trailer that hold my Harley’s down. They are the retractable type. One of the ratchet mechanisms failed and allowed one of my Harley’s to fall into the side of the trailer.

Very disappointing.

Have struggled to find a bolt head anywhere that will fit this setup. The reason I’m looking is because to use these on any lumber treated trailer you need longer bolts. Why they wouldn’t inlcude 2 1/2” bolts or option in kit is beyond me.

My fault; I should have read description details or though through. Don’t bother local big box stores for bolts- non will seat in far enough to allow clip to work. I know have paperweights until I find bolts long enough with proper head.

Not avail that I can fond on Amazon either. Great product terrible application for 2×6 wood decks.

I used these for my Side By side in an enclosed trailer. They seemed secure but they broke on the first use and my side by side was not tied down in the trailer. It slid around and made it very difficult to unload as it was jammed in the corner behind the ramp door.

It took about 45 minutes to actually get the Machine out. I love the quality of the pieced and if you have a light load I would reccomend it. But anything with any weight I would get the larger tracks.

i thikn they would provide a better tie down point.

I purchased two of these for tie downs for lighter weight equipment in an enclosed trailer. I have used these and l-track in my truck bed for years and really like the way the puck sits pretty flush when the tie-down loop is not installed.

I’ve used them for a few days now in the trailer and they are great. Easy to install (3/4″ decking on my trailer), and super easy to use once they are in. Everything rolls over the pucks just fine, and they are not a trip hazard like some of my other tie downs.

You want to have a place to store the tie-downs when they are not on the pucks so they don’t wander away, but otherwise they work great. My trailer has a pretty standard load plan, so buying a bunch of l-track was a waste of money, I just don’t need that much flexibility.

With these, I have plenty of options since I basically installed them in two rows down the sides of the trailer. Very happy with the quality, and the puck in my truck bed has been there for 10 years with no issues, so I’m not worried about longevity on these.

Don’t buy them to tie down a car, but for motorcycles, lawn equipment or ATVs, they are about perfect.

I use straps to secure my side by side UTV to my trailer. Traditional straps with a steel hook sewn on the end were rubbing against my trailer frame and about to break. This strap fixed the problem with the chain against the trailer and the nylon on my UTV.

Use this a lot. Not a lot of play in the strap. Which is a good thing. The strap looks to be made of strong high quality material. Of course it will fade and wear down over time, but what worldly item doesn’t? The metal hooks and ratchet are high quality and heavy duty.

We bought our first one almost a year ago and it still works great. Just bought a second one a couple months ago as a spare in case the other gets lost or broken.

Worked great initially but starting to become corroded. Recommend using a spray lubricant to prevent corrosion and functionality. Granted, I keep them in my leeky toolbox on the work truck. #sweepstakes.

I like them to get here! And they are ,right on the money! I have used these before securing lot’s of stuff. Motorcycles, bicycles, tillers splitters even big landscape rocks. Throw a couple half hitches in your leftover strap.

It prevents it to slip only to the half hitch.

My hubby is very happy with these straps. This made an excellent birthday gift for him. Consider getting these for your truck and trailer.

Nice product at good price. Nice bag that comes with them to keep them in while in truck or toolbox. Haven’t used yet to test product strength or durability. But seems very strong to use to strap things down.

I bought a swivel Wheel trailer to haul behind my camper. I fought and fought with two different straps methods. Finally, a friend told me about these. So I bought them and immediately returned all the others.

I use them to hold down my golf cart on the back of a pretty sketchy trailer that bounces around a decent amount. I permanently mounted the 8-ft tracks centerline of my wheels. I ride up onto the trailer, usually manually shift it around a bit to ensure dead-center, then strap those puppies down.

For the first time since I got that trailer, it didn’t move an inch hauling roughly 100 miles. Not only that, but I wasn’t allowed to use the golf cart where I was staying (found that out later), and so it stayed on the trailer all weekend.

With the camper level, it out the trailer in the back at about a 30deg angle. Needless to say, I highly recommend these!!!.

I bought this etrack with very little knowledge of what material was available to help me with a quick move from NY to FL using a new 24’ trailer. It was my very good fortune to chose DC cargo to work with.

The track came wrapped and boxed so as to prevent shipping damage and was delivered earlier than promised. All track and clips were first class in appearance and function. I used 8 sections of 8 foot track along with many single track pieces to secure my load and I had absolutely no issued failures of this equipment for the entire trip.

This equipment worked so well that I didn’t even need to snug anything up for the entire trip. What more can you ask for!.

Excellent product! It’s made my cargo trailer super versatile! With all the attachments, I can use my trailer as a work/haul trailer and securely haul what I need. I used it to to move appliances from my home and fastened the appliances to the wall and drove worry free.

I can camp in the trailer now (bunk beds, tables, etc). I can haul my Polaris Razor with ease as well. Completely transformed my cargo trailer!!!.

Good set, always good to have a few extra lying around. The hooks on the ends are sized well to fit through the chain links of standard handcuffs. Just wish the straps were a little more robust, my guest was able to almost completely chew through it in the space of a couple of hours.

No harm done though.

The tie downs seem to be good quality, and are just what I was looking for. They’re inexpensive and t hey come with a nice fabric bag for storage. The packaging, however required several knives, scissors, pliers and a full compliment of expletives to break into.

Whoever designed this evil encasement must have been feuding with his ex that morning. If you buy these, (and they’re well worth the money. ) I would recommend you begin with an axe. You may damage one, but it’ll be worth it, trust me.

Surprised for their size how strong these are. I used them to strap heavy pieces of furniture to the roof of my car and they worked like a charm. Highly recommend them.

E track tie down anchor for use with ratchet straps with hooks on them. IT mounts easy and ring is big enough for more size hooks. Gives you added attachment point for use with older straps. Good price.

Only time will tell how they hold up to repeated use and loads.

These are great and very easy to move around where you need them. I will buy more of them because you can never have to many. Quality seems very good and should last.

If you are looking for something that is good for light weight use these are great. The heavy duty ones are better all around for the small price difference.

Very well built ratchet straps,they are substantial. A buddy of mine who hauls bikes all of the time was impressed. The only thing missing is a way to Velcro excess strap. I went and purchased Velcro cord management straps,resolved.

Definitely would recommend. Maybe a follow-up after cross country pull.

I bought these to tie down my Bonneville on a U Haul trailer for a track day 150 miles away. I hadn’t trailered a motorcycle before so it was reassuring that these straps appeared well-engineered and of high quality.

Once adjusted & tightened, they didn’t need readjustment for the whole trip despite a good bit of rough highway. One thing I would note is the soft-tye loop is quite long which limits how short you can make the overall strap (barely short enough to fit between the rear sub-frame on my bike and tie down point on the trailer).

A possible improvement could be to have a second small loop (for attaching the hook) sewn into the soft-tye loop to allow shortening the big loop by an inch or two. No complaints though, these got the job done and I look forward to using them again!.

Really happy with these USA-made ratchet straps. Locking secure S hooks and real Sheepskin soft Tyes so no worries about damaging your Harleys paint when cranking down the ratchets. Def worth the extra dollars to have quality straps versus some big-box junk.

Product is well made, durable, heavy duty. Would be helpful if the web site showed installation configuration options w/ the various supporting pieces installed with it. You’re buying a piece but it is part of an overall tie down system.

Also, would be helpful to show fastening options and recommendations. I installed these on the hollow wall of a trailer, I’m not sure I used the most durable, sturdy fastening method.

I had purchased these e-track strips for my trailer to secure my ATV and Tractor. They have yet to fail at all. I also purchased 12′ straps and e-track links to go along with them. I can put alot of tension on them with no worries.

I would recomend these to anyone with a trailer needing anchor points.

I am puting a Trailer to gether E track make it easy to hold down motorcycles also any thing you hall. this trailer is big enough for 4 bikes and more. This gives you ajustments to size and placement with hold down straps that you move around.

also I am able to buy the lights for this trailer other needs for my products I am doing.

I use these to tie down my Polaris Turbo S4 ATV. The flexibility of the e-track system and these heavy duty rings is awesome and compliments my built in D-rings.

Bought to anchor my 900 pound motorcycle in side my enclosed trailer. Transported it twice with no issues.

I didn’t by my EZ track itself from Harbor Freight because I didn’t know they carried it at the time. However, I’ve since bought a lot of my anchors from them. The heavy duty anchors are a good quality and no problems so far.

There aren’t a lot of walk-in retailers you can stop in and pick up EZ track accessories. Appreciate Harbor Freight carrying some things and hope they’ll add more options.

These E-track tie downs seem to fit “loosely” when compared to others I have used. The plus side is that they are reasonably priced and are as rugged as others I have used. They have not let go under pressure! I will be going back to purchase a couple more when they go on sale again.

I like this heavy duty tie down. It goes in the track easily and has held down every thing I’ve tied to it. It then disconnects and comes back out just as easy. I really recommend getting this one for your tie downs.

These worked great. Installed them on the floor of a 7′ x 14′ enclosed trailer. I am not using them for a motorcycle but purchased this kit because of the soft straps that the tie downs hook into. Over time typical tie downs wear through the rubber dipped hooks and then you end up with metal to metal contact between the hooks and your machines.

This in turn overtime will lead to wear and rust on the frame of your machine. The soft straps eliminate this concern and can be easily replaced over time as they wear out.

I ordered these to use in an enclosed trailer to anchor my side by side. Quality materials. The ratchet tie downs are built heavier than anticipated.

The original ones on my “new” boat were not holding. I couldn’t find the HD ones online, at least not with the tensile rating. These were listed at over 800 lbs, so I tool a chance. They’re not stainless, so will be more likely to rust.

The center release is a bit cumbersome, but does work. Value for price was better than the others. Jury is out but they are working nicely.

Had buckles on boat before , but now they are always on trailer no more walking back and forth to get old buckles love them

I should have bought these a long time ago. Easy to install with included hardware and simple to use.

These were on sale so the price was right. Over all they were as desgined but due to not being ratch style it’s a little harder to get the front end compressed. They work fine for MX bikes but I sure wouldn’t use them on anything heavy.

They will slip on long hauls.

Good heavy duty tie downs. Used to transport 2 KLR650’s in back of a brand new pickup, it was a very full bed and I was worried about damaging the new truck. Haul both bikes over 200 mile on highway and rough back roads with out a problem.

I bought these to tie down my bike to the trackside hitch carrier. Ended up too scared to use the hitch carrier but using these to tie down on uhaul/trailer rentals. They do their job and I got a great price on them so no complaints! PROS: Great Value.
