19 Best Toys To Encourage Crawling (2023 Updated)

Well thought out and designed! I purchased this for my grandson when he was 8 months old and he really didn’t have as much interest in it as I did other than pulling up on it to stand up. He’s 13 months now and over the past 3 months he’s been totally obsessed with it and plays with it for hours when he’s here visiting for a few days.

It has 3 levels of learning stages and he likes to switch them up for different songs, tunes, functions, etc. This car does SO much and is a wonderful teaching/learning aid. I highly recommend! The price was more than fair.

As rough as my grandson has been with it everything is still perfect and I can see it lasting through several children then some! Would make a terrific and well appreciated baby shower or birthday gift.

There’s nothing I don’t like about it. Added plus: It also comes in “pink”.

Both of my kids have absolutely loved this car and spend so much time playing with it. The interactive buttons and knobs help them develop dexterity. I love the spot to sort balls and shapes, number recognition, the alphabet, weather and genres of music.

It is sturdy and has survived being jumped on and having the door slammed. The songs are catchy and I find myself singing them and not getting annoyed, which is a bonus! Definitely worth the spend as it is a toy that has lasted several years and is still going strong!.

My daughter loved her fisher price laugh and learn. It’s super stable. It’s easy to for babies to develop there pulling up and even begin walking. The songs kept my baby super active and engaged. The space it takes up is very minimal.

Super easy on the budget. Clean up is just a wipe away. My daughter also food in her hand she loved to stand and dance with the music once she become of age so it’s definitely worth the money due to the prolonged use you’ll get out of it.

I cannot be the only person who didn’t understand how to make it go together. I am not a dumb human by any means. But I got this three weeks ago and it took calling in and having some explain it to me to get it.

This comes with zero instructions and no recall notice to fill out. I called and the lady said “well most people just look at it and know what to do”. Thanks. But me, my husband, my mom and my best friend all looked at it and couldn’t figure it out.

I scoured the internet looking for some sort of instructions or something and got nothing. It wouldn’t kill you to put just one piece of paper explaining how to use the “hook and loop” pieces. They are neither a hook or loop.

I purchased the Vtech Move and Crawl Ball for my niece as a birthday gift for her to play with when she is in my care. She spends a lot of time with me so it is important that she has plenty of toys to keep her attention.

My niece was 10 months old, crawling and on the verge of walking. For the first few weeks the brightly colored ball kept her attention and made her very happy. The ball is motorized, has a few buttons to push that teach babies about numbers and bugs.

The animal buttons teach baby animals and their sounds to help with learning and memorization. The lady bug on top is probably the most catching feature and it draws the child in from the beginning. There are over 40 sound effects, songs and phrases to keep baby entertained.

The toy takes three AA batteries and they are easy to change when needed. Overall I think this is a good toy but it is probably one that will not hold most childrens attention for long. It might be a good toy to put up and only take out on occasion to keep it exciting for them.

We absolutely loved this toy with all five our children. Not only did it last through child after child in our house hold after countless hours of playtime but I was later able to pass it on to our nephew.

Our children loved it from the sitting stage until the toddler years. The batteries even seem to last a long time. You would think it would break or become damaged after multiple times dropping to the floor but it never did.

It kept rolling itself a along and playing songs. We truly got our money’s worth with this one and I usually don’t like or buy battery operated toys but this one is super.

At 13 months I’m surprised how much enjoyment our little one still gets out of the toy. It is intriguing and one that regularly gets pulled out of the pile for a closer look and some fun interaction.

The style is gender neutral and the songs and voices bring big smiles and clapping hands. We weren’t sure if this would be an annoying toy to listen to or not when we first turned it on, but on the lower volume it has proven to be very tolerable unlike many other toys that feature lights and sounds.

The best feature is by far the rotation and rolling action. It’s like a weeble-wobble on battery power and just keeps moving around the room this way and that. The variety of movement keeps things interesting for little ones! Env: development.

This elephant toy is bigger than you would think it would be. It’s a blue green color with a polka dot diaper, that looks like it is crawling on the floor. The ears move back and forth and the four colored patches on its back can be pressed to activate the songs or lights.

It plays music and songs and has phrases that encourage kids to crawl along with it. You can hear the mechanism when the toy is moving across the floor, so it is not very quiet. It uses three AA batteries, which come with it.

The head and legs are stuffed but the body is just a hard plastic. It can be surface cleaned and has a volume control so you can make it louder or quieter. It also shuts off automatically so you don’t have to worry about doing that each time.

My nephew liked pushing the buttons but didn’t really follow it along the floor. After a few minutes he was bored with it and moved onto something else.

I thought this would’ve been cute for my baby as he was learning to crawl. He hasn’t used it very much and now it simply doesn’t work. I’ve changed batteries and all. You click the buttons and it just makes the musical shut off sound.

I’m disappointed in loss of money when I would’ve got him something different.

This is a toy that is loved by all the littles. It plays so much variety and I like that as a mother. The volume on this is about average for a toy. There is an off and on switch to shut the toy off.

Battery life is about average. The buttons are large enough for tiny hands to press and light up. When this toy crawls, it crawls at a slower pace so the littles can keep up with it. The only thing I didn’t like is that when it crawls on the floor, the bottoms seem to get dirty after a period of time.

I haven’t seen a way to clean it. My little took it out on the sidewalk one day. Overall though, this is a win.

My 11 month old sons love this little toy and I love that it is small enough to pack up in the diaper bag and take with us when we leave the house. It’s a pretty simple toy that lights up and makes noises which helps keep him entertained for a bit.

I also like that it has wheels and the little handle, because my son loves pushing his toys around on our floor and this is one on the easiest ones for him to do this. This cute little elephant is so fun and engaging for my baby. It is small enough to take places with us everywhere. The baby loves the sounds and lights. The handle is small enough for the baby to carry and push around.

When it arrived, I thought it would be bigger. However, it’s the perfect size to take with you on trips and great for small hands. It plays music and the ears can be moved, buttons can be pressed eg yellow triangle, which also has a bird on it, so it says triangle or hello bird.

It can be pushed along and the trunk twists. It keeps my granddaughter entertained.

This is one of my son’s favorite toys. It sounds very much like Winnie the Pooh, and it encouraged my son to crawl. Son is a super fast crawler beating out the toy because if it, haha. You can adjust the volume (Low/High) which I thought was cool.

I received this just as my little guy was learning to crawl. Perfect incentive and something you can bring in the car for trips and visits. It was helpful to keep my lil one entertained and engaged. He enjoyed the different prompts and the cute Pajamas Pooh has on.

This crawling Disney Baby Winnie the Pooh is absolutely precious. It is super adorable and has a more classical style winnie the pooh. It keeps babies entertained and on the move. We love it’s different sounds it plays as well.

Both of my babies LOVE this activity center. They’re 7 months old and their feet touch the ground. On some walkers we have their toes don’t even touch. It has three height adjustments so as they grow longer, we can adjust.

Both babies enjoy every single toy on the activity center and they both easily figured out how to move around to enjoy 360 degrees of fun. When I was looking at this, I thought it was a little pricey, but after assembling it with ease, seeing the high quality, and watching my twins entertain themselves with glee, it was very worth the price.

What also makes it worth the price is the insert that can replace the seat in the center as they age. This will most certainly be a toy they enjoy for years. It’s probably up there as one of the top five purchases I’ve made for them.

We purchased this for our granddaughter when she was 4. 5 months old. She was able to swivel the seat around & was entertained with the various types of toys. It includes various shapes, colors, animals, textures, encourages, eye-hand coordination, cause & effect, etc.

She played with it from a seated position until about 8 months old, then converted it to use from a standing position by putting the slide in the center. This encourages her to cruise around the outer perimeter to play with each toy from a different angle, bouncing & dancing to the music, which she controls by herself now.

I am amazed at the thought that went into designing this item & would purchase again.

I got this for my 4m/o nephew. I know that this is for 6m/o up, but he lives 3 hours from me and i hardly get to see him. His parents have financial issues living under someone else’s roof, so i knew they wouldn’t buy him much in terms of toys don’t have much room in the house; so i had a be mindful of that.

Luckily, this didn’t take up that much space when i put it together. Batteries ARE included! Shocked by that! The wheels have a lock so they won’t fall and the back ones have rubber on them for gripping the floor.

He absolutely loved it! He was immediately engaging all the buttons, he really loved the music setting natrually, the LIGHTS! He is already trying to walk (with assistance) so he will be an early walker; this was my main reason for getting him this i knew his parents are not financially stable enough for toys yet.

My daughter was walking in no time with this. She loves pulling herself up walking around the house. Very well made for being plastic. The phone part can easily be lost since it doesn’t have a string but it does the job.

This walker caught my granddaughters eye at the car dealerships play room, upon reaching for the higher up toys -she ended up standing ! All by herself, to her surprise too ! I knew then I had to find that exact learning walker and did so-on ebay in less than 5min.

She loves it and with the resistance of pushing it being adjustable she has even better control which makes her feel secure thus off she goes ! This thing attracts, inspires, and even minimizes their beginning speed/.

Great quality. My one year old loves climbing under and over it. The velcro underneath help keep all pieces in place. Easy to wipe clean. I’m sure it’ll last a long time as the material is durable.

Didn’t come with instructions on how exactly it all velcros together but we figured it out. My 1 and 3 year olds love it! Sturdy, good quality and not too high for my youngest. Comes apart easily to use each piece separately (for forts in our case ☺️).

I thought the opening to crawl through was bigger. My grandson was 10 months old when I got this for him and he has to crawl through on his belly. Other than that, it is very well made.

This car is so cute and my son loves it. However the reality is it’s an overpriced pile of junk. One of the bars bent, it squeaks so loudly, etc… This product was purchase LESS than one month ago.

It does not light up or make noise and I bought new batteries twice. I’m thinking about calling to see if they can seen me that part so I don’t have to take it apart and return it. Other than that it does everything else.

We loved this bouncer. My son plays in it all the time. One springs has broke though. There is no way to fix it. Very disappointed that it only lasted three months.

I was given this car by a friend of mine. Not being sure of what it was or what brand, I decided to clean it up and see if my kids would like it. My daughter instantly became attached to it! It has sounds like a normal car plus animal sounds.

Has spots for blocks which she shoves other toys in them. You’ll catch her hiding her cups and her phone inside while just chilling, playing and watching blues clues!.

My boys loved these cars (we had 2). From a really young age they started to pretend and play that they would need to go somewhere, get in to one car together, then one gets out. While not quite ready for ride on toys, these are perfect to give them the same make believe play.

I usually hate smaller parts that can be lost, and I’m sure we lost some of these too but when not playing with the parts they stayed inside the “door†compartment. Price is not bad at all given the larger size of the toy!.

This item was purchased for my daycare center. I have always enjoyed Little tykes products for over 30 years always a brand I trusted. Unfortunately this item does not hold up to the repetition as past items.

The put together time says 45 minutes try three hours. The pieces did not go together very easily. I would not recommend this product to anyone.

DO NOT BUY. I regret this purchase so much. Parts were warped and made it impossible to secure certain spots. I literally had to use my impact driver to get the thing together. Holes are not pre-drilled.

Any spots that are, are not aligned properly. With two of us and power tools, we got it together but I worry that it is not suitable for my child to play on. I went to request a refund but Walmart wants me to break apart this beast to return it to the store.

Never again will I buy a Little Tikes product.

I was excited to order this for a Christmas gift. When I received it, the box was taped up and obviously was a return. Called and was told, yes it was and that they would send out another one. Received it and it was one that was returned as well.

Why would I want to pay full price for an item that was returned and obviously had something missing. Now it is sold out and the I am still waiting on a refund. I have always been pleased with Target but this has been nothing but a hassle for me.

I just had surgery and had to find a way to return the big box back. Very disappointed in Target.

A little smaller than I thought, but cute & well-made.

My daughter loves this sweet little elephant! First , it’s really soft and has several places on the surface for the baby to feel multiple textures. It definitely encouraged her to try to crawl after the toy.

It worked well on both hardwood and carpet. The star lit up brightly and when the elephant plays a song or talks, my daughter would get so excited. It speaks 45 songs/phrases so it doesn’t get monotonous and boring.

This toy grows with your child as well, they can push the buttons for songs, and learn about shapes and numbers too! It’s really cute and we highly recommend it!!.

We have had the VTech Explore and crawl for nearly a month and we love it. I have a very active 10 month old so having a buddy to crawl with seemed like a great fit. At first my little one was apprehensive of the toy but quickly warmed up to it with a little time.

The volume is adequate without being obnoxious and the switch to turn it on and off is easy to access. The songs are sweet and expose the child to numbers and alphabet. The toy is quite durable as my little one is very hands on when playing with it.

Definitely recommend to someone with a child in crawling range.

This little elephant is adorable! My daughter is 10 months old and loves this toy, she has no problems working it and she will crawl right after it trying to talk to it. It’s just sooo cute!!! It’s soft, so I don’t have to worry about her getting hurt.

And it does so many different things that it literally keeps her occupied for at least an hour or more. I definitely recommend this, another great toy by V-tech!!!.

I believe the toy is great for both genders. My 7 month old boy would usually play with it. It has 2 level of volume control. There are few mode options. However these musical buttons initially worked but now all messed up.

All modes are not functioning adequately. My child is confused as two different music are mixed up in one mode ! The crawling sometimes work. It could be the draining battery 🙁 Shall hesitate to recommend , VTech® Explore & Crawl Elephant™.

Nothing to dislike about BA! They’re the best made interactive dolls! My daughter has been collecting them all her life!. She had to have the blonde doll. Her first, Baby go bye bye was a black hair one when she was younger!! We love feeding them, changing their diaper and dressing them up! Best doll’s for every little girl or boy!! The lasting life of these dolls are the plus!! We have almost one with the same battery life from the day of purchase!.

My daughter enjoys the doll but maybe my daughter is too young (21 months) to enjoy the diaper function as much as I had expected. She might have enjoyed a doll that is lighter for her to carry because she has a lot of trouble carrying the doll in the carrier it came with.

I think a smaller doll with a stroller that costs about $20 would have been a better purchase. The speaking which is really only 4 phrases, diaper (I have to do the diaper changes because daughters finger agility is not there yet) and crawling function which really only slows doll to move a few cm if at all, I think are not worth the price tag.

Baby Go Bye Bye did not last for 2 days! I suggest saving the doll’s box just in case you have to return it. doll cost $49. 99 ,way too much to have any problems within 2 days doll. This malfunction happened after a couple of days without being dropped or mistreated.

My daughter was ecstatic to have this doll! I thought the dogs extremely neat as well! My daughter was extremely disappointed because we had search a few stores looking for an African American Baby Alive doll.

We went to the store, looked through several boxes trying to make sure that the box was not damaged because we had problems with a Brunette Snackin Luke Baby Alive doll. When we got home she played with the doll for 2 days! I assumed the doll may have been returned because doll stopped working even when we changed the doll’s batteries three different times (with expensive batteries) and the doll still did not work! Now we need to return this doll along with the Snacking Luke (whose food gets stuck as if he’s constipated).

She has several Baby Alive dolls, but now since three have malfunctioned I am frightened to buy another one because I do not have time nor patience to take dolls back due to manufacturing error.

This dinosaur is so adorable! It’s made of a nice plush material just perfect for snuggling! It has a remote and it will walk and wag its tail and make dinosaur sounds. I gave this to my 2 1/2 year old nephew who is dinosaur obsessed and he absolutely loves this! Not only does he walk it around but he packs it around snd sleeps with it! The dinosaur has a little collar and leash so it’s similar to walking a dog but you are just walking your pet dinosaur.

This is perfect for pretend play! I would definitely recommend this for the dinosaur lover!.

The hard plastic makes this very durable. My little one likes to pick it up and toss/drop it and it hasn’t effected the toy at all. We have wood floors and it rolls great from room to room. (Although it’s a little loud when rolling on the floors.

) It can play music and do educational learning. We mostly use the music feature since baby is too young to do colors, numbers, and shapes! She loves it and chases it all over. The color, sounds, and lights are very attention grabbing and will entertain her for quite a while.

even on carpet and the music+talking is so much fun compare to VTech Move Crawl Ball, but the music is little louder than VTech Move Crawl Ball sometimes depending on occasion because it can’t change the volume sound.

Also the music+talk is little to short on each section and silent time between the music sessions are too long so we have to keep pushing buttons to keep activating for my baby which buttons are very hard to push for little babies because its very stiff and they are very on bottom side of ball instead of top of the ball which make sense more for easy pushing.

My baby love the looks of the ball and sound of music+talking more than VTech Move Crawl Ball but because of the harder to push the buttons and short fun, she still likes VTech Move Crawl Ball sometimes.

Was purchased as a Christmas gift for an eight month old. Awesome. They loved it. Lots of colors, music, and educational.
