20 Best Tortilla Chips For Diabetics (2023 Updated)

I have not had a decent tortilla chip since I was told I could no longer eat grains in 2019. The taste and or texture was just not right. I grabbed a bag of sea salt tortillas, and for some reason decided to try the lime, too.

I have never liked lime much. I never understood why anyone would want lime chips. until now. The plain chips were great, but the little something extra the lime adds makes these the best grain free chips I’ve ever had.

It heightens the salt flavor a bit and is amazing with salsa. My new favorite! I’ve since purchased the taco shells and taco seasoning-regular and spicy. Will review those afterward too. LOVE THIS BRAND!.

All but one scored these excellent. If your reading this and considering a purchase. My advice is to buy more than one bag because these are so good. Finding good veggie and vegan foods can be a challenge.

These chips and seasoning are fantastic. an outstanding balance of flavors that shows outstanding snacks can come from healthy ingredients. The chips are a perfect thickness; a tad thinner than corn chips, which I like.

I have them on a regular order since they aren’t sold at my local stores and just now I’m upping the quantity. I think they got the seasoning perfectly right too. In fact, if they would sell it separately, I’d use it to zip up frozen burritos/wraps and then have them more often.

If the rest of the population had regular access to these chips, I’d picture brands like Doritos eventually ceasing to exist. I can’t imagine going back to products like that. Thank you Siete Family for your wonderful products!! Keep them coming.

These are so good and addicting! At first, I was hesitant because it contains coconut and I don’t like coconut, but I don’t taste coconut at all. These chips have a softer, dissolve in your mouth type of texture, but they are still crunchy.

I don’t find these to be spicy; they do have a slight kick to them but nothing like hot Cheetos or Takis. I love that these chips have healthier ingredients and are delicious! Would definitely purchase again.

I have tried many alternatives to potato chips and usually find them lackluster at best and downright horrid at worst. I’m not that fond of crackers and don’t like sweet potatoes, plantains, or veggie chips.

Kale is not even a thought in my lunch planning. Ok, I’m not healthy but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t like to be a little better in my lunch choices. I tried these chips because they were in the vending machine where I work and I was hungry.

I braced myself for a bland cardboard like texture, but was pleasantly surprised by a crunchy, tasty alternative to potato chips. I like these – they are not thick and chunky like a cracker. They are thin and crispy like a chip and actually taste good.

They don’t have the salty, oily taste of potato chips, but they do have a satisfying crunchiness and filling flavor. I do like Sun Chips once in a while and I think these are even better. My local grocery store only carries smaller bags of these chips, so it was cheaper to buy bigger bags here on Amazon.

I eat these when I want chips with my lunch and have not eaten potato chips since I’ve started ordering these.

I could see these chips pairing well with nachos, dips, soups especially! Highly recommend giving them a try.

I enjoy these chips when I like to have my snacks on certain days/time. It’s super healthy and super great for your health. It’s an affordable price for the bag. I do like to dip this with ceviche.

I recently switched to healthier food choices in an attempt to cut out sugar, excess sodium, and fat from my diet. I searched “keto snacks” while creating a grocery delivery order with Walmart, and these came up.

Pros: these chips contain lots of protein (19 grams protein/4 grams of carbs); they are really tasty, just as yummy as a “regular” taco chip, with a nice mild tomato-ey with spices taco flavor; they have good ingredients; you feel full after eating a small amount; they’re healthier than regular taco chips with very low fat and no sugar.

Cons: bag is very small; they are expensive; they are fairly high in sodium (15%); chips are super delicate and fragile, and crumble very easily. It’s so frustrating that it costs so much more to purchase more healthy food than it is to buy super-processed, fatty, sugary foods.

For the price of this small bag, you could probably get a fairly large sized bag of the name brand nacho/taco chips. However, after eating half of this small bag, I felt that my snack cravings were fully satisfied.

Were this a bag of regular brand taco chips, I would still be plowing through a big bag of them, and consuming more fat and sugar and salt than I should be. Conclusion: these are expensive, but worth it.

If you could keep them from crumbling, they would be an excellent quick snack at work on the go, as they contain so much protein. After eating regular taco chips I get sort of a salt/fat/sugar “hangover”- just that over-full icky feeling.

That doesn’t happen with these chips. So overall, I do recommend these to satisfy a D—-os craving without the fat, excess sodium, and sugar. Left off one star due to being expensive.

I like Quest products because I don’t get enough protein in my regular diet because I don’t eat very much, so I look for other ways to boost my protein intake. My go- to is drinking an Ensure Protein Max, but I also eat Quest protein bars.

I recently purchased the Nacho Tortilla Chips after seeing the commercial for them and they are pretty good if you’re craving a “naughty” snack. I don’t purchase or eat chips, or that type of junk food, so Quest takes a lot of the guilt out of the equation.

I think they taste pretty good, but if you love nacho chips like Doritos and are expecting something like that, then you will not like these. The texture is even different because they are made from protein isolates and fiber versus corn and everything else that goes into “conventional” chips.

They have a lot of powder on them too because even the powder is flavored protein powder. In short, if you don’t eat junk food and don’t remember what it tastes like and only care about nutrition, then I think these are a great option to add to your pantry.

If you love chips and junk food then I don’t think you will like these.

I had tried one of the quest protein bars and been extremely disappointed by it in so many ways, so going into this I was a little skeptical. I have never been more happy to eat my words. The flavor is amazing! I’ve never been a huge fan of the original nacho cheese Doritos, but somehow I prefer these way more.

I’m someone who prefers a lighter/less dense chip that almost melts in the mouth, so the light crispness of this is perfect for me. The cheese dust flavor is just right, and there’s no weird protein taste or aftertaste.

I could probably go through 2 or 3 bags of this in one sitting and not worry about it because of how high protein they are for a bag of chips. And they’re still around the same calories of a normal bag of chips, so it’s a win-win.

But the biggest thing is that I felt satisfied after I ate just one bag. As someone who struggles with cravings and binge eating, an alternative like this is such a blessing. It’s worth the extra dollars.

You changed the chips about a month ago to canola oil. Now the shelf is always full because you ruined the best chips that flew off the shelves. Canola oil oozes out of our skin. Humans cannot process Canola oil very well.

I have been a juanitas fan since 2015. Usually, they are crisp, pleasantly salted, with the right amount of oil. However, the quality has changed in the previous years. It doesn’t seem like the texture and consistency is similar throughout the batches.

Some are dry and stale, even before the products expiration. Some have burnt chips. Some are oily, with little salt. Being in food manufacturing jobs, I understand the variability from batch to batch processing.

However, with increasing popularity, I believe the quality is waning. With all this being said, this company is a superior tortilla chip company to many in the market. I will continue to buy them for my tortilla chip needs.

However, it is a disappointment when they don’t have the original taste I know and love. Nevertheless, all bags purchased are always eaten with satisfaction.

A lot of brands claim they have restaurant style tortilla chips, yet most seem to fall short of the mark. This brand is definitely the closest. Thin, light and not too salty. Only downside is sometimes a bag might have a little extra oil, but it’s not that big of a deal considering what you’re getting, most of the time every bag is just right.

Calidad and La Cocina are decent runner-ups for restaurant style tortilla chips. Sooo good.

So one of the hardest parts about going Gluten Free and Low Carb was giving up my chips. I tried a lot of replacements over the past 5 years and some got close to cutting it, but were never quite right.

I am on a keto diet and saw there was a coupon for these, so I decided to give them a try. I can only assume most people who buy these are also on keto, otherwise what’s the point? When I saw on the label that there 19g of carbs in 6 chips, 6!, I compared to regular tortilla chips and did the math.

Crazy that per ounce, these have more carbs than regular Tostitos Tortilla chips. I would have been better off with something that is deemed “unhealthy. ” These are a scam.

I was excited to see tortilla chips made from cauliflower! But on closer inspection, if you look at the ingredients and nutritional info, these are mostly cassava flour, which is mostly carbohydrates.

The cauliflower is listed after the sunflower oil, which is what the chips are cooked in, so that tells you how much cauliflower there really is in here. Disappointing.

I have been buying these chips for years and some years back the chips were no longer light and airy but dense and flat (like store brand cheap chips). They improved and I started buying them from Sam’s again but now the they are tasting off again.

My suggestion is to always look at the chips before you purchase them. They should not be flat but should have little raised “bubbles” or areas on the surface. If they are flat they will be hard. That being said if you purchase them in a regular store they have always been fine but it appears the larger Sam’s club bags only have this problem.

I just came to find out that this company was sold to Utz and they must have changed the recipe of perfection to a recipe of cost savings and mediocreness. We will no longer buy these chips. Utz had better reconsider the moves they’ve made or their sales of these chips will soon plummet.

I have bought this brand from two different grocery stores for years then I found that Walmart offered them. They have never been chewy or stale from the grocery store or Walmart until this last order.

I thought maybe the product was changed by manufacturer making them chewy until I saw these reviews. Will order again but if product is stale or chewy next time, Walmart needs to get another supplier.

I never order these with anything that might crush them so did not have that problem.

I had read about these Donkey Unsalted Authentic Tortilla Chips last summer somewhere. Instead of actually trying to find them, though, I decided I’d make my own. So I did – several “batches”, in fact, using white flour tortillas and corn tortillas over the summer.

But, they were always lacking something. By chance about 3 weeks ago, I saw these Donkey Chips at Health Heart Market when I was looking for something else. I decided to purchase a bag. One of the best online purchases I’ve made! They’ve got taste, have that “addictive” feature, and are reasonably priced.

No salt needed actually. Although if it were included it would be a plus. I don’t miss it, though. These also beat hands down my “homemade” version from the summer. Thus, I’ll be scrapping my recipe and keeping these on hand.

Tostitos are my favorite brand of tortilla chips. The baked option kinda fell short with me. They flavor is a little different and the chip thickness is different. Not my first choice when buying chips at the store.

I enjoy the taste without the extra fat and carbs. They hold up well with salsa. A great alternative when you want a snack. The taste has good flavor, not artificial. It’s made with whole corn and vegetable oil.

No unusual ingredients that may make you feel bloated.

These are more than blue corn chips. They have several seeds and grains in them too, which makes them even better. My husband said that calling them Blue Corn Tortilla Chips is misleading, even though that’s what they taste like.
