These boards die and die bad. I spent months filing tickets, emailing, calling and sending certified letters to Mackie attempting to get them to honor their warranty and they refused to communicate with me via any medium.

I eventually filed a small claims case against them. They again refused to respond to the summons and I was awarded a default judgement which I’m sure they will refuse to pay because they know they can get away with it.

Since I was no longer concerned with the sanctity of my non-existent warranty, I decided to open the unit up and see if there were any obvious reasons for the failures. What I found was truly horrific.

SMD components are barely sitting on their respective pads in many locations and electrolytic capacitors seem to have been tacked on by what must have been an inebriated zoo animal. It is clear that someone was literally stabbing their soldering iron at the board with their eyes closed and they left giant, heaping blobs of flux all over the place.

The fact that this thing worked for even a couple of hours is no small miracle. If you’ve been around for a while, you might associate the Mackie name with quality, but those people went bankrupt and sold that name to a venture capital group who calls themselves Loud Audio, LLC.

Loud Audio, LLC is associated only with incredibly cheap labor at ridiculously inflated prices. I sincerely recommend that you avoid their products at all costs.

I replaced my 2nd generation Scarlett 2i2 with the 3rd generation 4i4. I was a bit skeptical of the software application required to set the inputs to line/instrument, but it turned out to be fairly intuitive.

The unit comes with a pad and air feature. Pad is self explanatory (gain reduction for loud recordings), the air setting is supposed to model some classic microphone preamp or something to that effect.

I’m not totally sure what the difference is, but I’ve left the Air feature on anyways while recording and I’ve been pleased with the results, how much of that satisfaction is a result of the Air setting is hard to say since I haven’t actually done any objective testing but it certainly doesn’t seem to hurt anything by having it on.

Initially, when I got the hardware going on my iMac I experienced significant lag while using Logic at various times, particularly when I was trying to copy logic drum tracks or expand the timeline but also while trying to do basic functions as well.

I was concerned that I would have to get more RAM for my Mac which is problematic because the model I have makes it both difficult and expensive to increase RAM. However, after a few repeated uses the issue seems to have subsided, so I don’t really know what that was about or whether the change in hardware even had anything to do with it, however it definitely was not an issue while I used my 2i2 so it’s something to consider.

I mainly upgraded because I wanted to start using midi with my electronic drum kit and that was basically as easy as plug and play (aside from a couple added steps in Logic which didn’t have anything to do with the 4i4).

However, for some reason the midi tracks seem to cause Logic to experience errors during playback when I close and then reopen a project. Again, can’t say that this is a result of the 4i4 but I’ve been able to resolve the issue by simply quitting Logic entirely before reopening a project which isn’t much of an inconvenience at all.

A great high quality product! Design- I love the sleek and compact design. The red matte metal contrasts well with the glossy black front and back panels. It has more than enough Jack inputs and contains two ports that function as both XLR and Jack inputs- awesome! It has LED’s on the panels which indicate the selected inputs (INST, AIR, PAD) which can be changed via the focusrite interface.

Sound and preformance- Amazing sound quality covering a full range of frequencies! There is also pretty much zero latency so it sounds great and is very much a joy to record with. Handling- For the past couple weeks of use, this audio interface has been very intuitive to use, I’m a novice producer yet I’ve barely had to touch the manual! It also comes with its own interface which allows you to change the inputs and their volumes.

The box has a light around the volume knobs which advises you on the correct volume to have the instrument at (green, orange or red). This interface is also great for troubleshooting when you don’t know whether there’s an issue with the setup or the DAW.

Amazing set to add to my growing box of Cricut materials and tools. Everything is easy to use and of great quality. The Scissors are very sharp which is great for a lot of materials. The only tool I am yet to use is the spatula.

I love this set, really light to hold which helps so much when doing fiddly weeding. The reverse tweezers are fantastic as they give you better control especially when rolling up paper flowers. The scissors are the perfect size, not too big and not too small and I like the safety cap that comes with them.

The weeding tool is really easy to hold as the handle is a good thickness and the point is really strong. I would definitely but again and definitely recommend.

The spatchula tool is very helpful when removing a cut from the mat.

This tool also helps users remove cuts without having to bend the mat. The scraping tool works wonders on the keeping the Cricut mats in good condition. It saves a user time (and possibly nails) by not having to scrape the excess material off my hand.

Plus, it’s edge is gentle on the mat while being tough on material. The scissors are my second favorite tool! The convenience of the tiny tipped scissors is invaluable. They are much like the weeding tool.

They can help cut the tiniest of spaces! I have found them to be helpful on a variety of different papercraft projects. I mostly use my Cricut for papercrafting. I have made 2 vinyl projects in which I found all the tools I mentioned just as useful.

I have not used the tweezers much but I do believe they are an important tool to have handy. This tool set is a MUST-HAVE for any Cricut user.

The microphones and sound mixer are definitely solid hardware and were easy to layout and connect up. Was up and running within an hour all told with the installation. The mic stand is solid as well; it was heavy enough to add a foam sound barrier.

Instruction manual is a bit lacking so you’ll have to learn by playing at first, which most of s do anyway on most new purchases, and some of the software recommended in the instructions that were lacking was no longer available as a free download.

Still, a good purchase if you are planning to do some serious, professional recording.

I got this interface as a replacement for the MOTU 896HD, as that one was making the audio crackle and sound horribly distorted after several hours. It was even hot to the touch when it was switched on.

This machine? The Focusrite Scarlet 18I20 is the exact opposite of the MOTU! For half the price of the MOTU, I’ve got the best audio ever, without any crackles and mains hums! It’s so amazing it’s not even funny! It even stays cool to the touch no matter how long it’s been switched on! And, unlike the MOTU, it’s made of all metal instead of plastic and cheaply made parts.

Focusrite is a wonderful company. I have their Red3 Dual Compressor and Limiter, which I got in 2004, and it still works wonders to this day! If only Focusrite Control could let you add an audible click when you switch Fantom power and other parameters on and off, for those like me who are sight challenged (I have no sight at all), who can’t see lights.

Other than that, I give this machine 5 stars! Better yet, I give it 1,000,000,000,000,000 stars!.

I bought the 256GB version at Staples. com, which was sold at a special low price – $27, even lower than much lower capacity drives. Great to be able to store so much on one drive. No problems so far.

The body slides over the connector, so there is no cover to lose, but this leaves the end of the connector open to lint or dirt if I keep it in my pocket. (Such is the case with many other flash drives also.

) It does have a small hole at the opposite end, though, so it can be attached to a string or lanyard.

I should have listened to the other reviews regarding the transfer speed. This is one of the slowest USB drives that I have ever used. I compared it to a Sandisk Cruzer 32 GB USB drive that I have used for years.

Transferring files to this drive takes about twice the amount of time it takes to transfer to the old drive. I purchased this drive because I liked the connector access compared to methods used by other drive manufacturers.

It seems to work as good as a SanDisk or PNY and it has a flat shape to it which allows you to attach a piece of painters tape (scissors required). The tape can be made into a label with a fine point sharpie.

It would be nice if verbatim made them in something other than black though.

The Pro Pen 2 is absolutely stunning, especially compared to my Surface Pen. The degree of control is unmatched. It doesn’t have the shakes when drawing on my Cintiq, and has tons of customization options in the software.

The fact that it never needs batteries is a major sell as well. The only thing I would change is the size and weight. Maybe a smidge thinner and heavier? But that could just be me.

I got this in an effort to have a more comfortable to hold pen during long drawing/writing sessions on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S7. I was told by a Beat Buy employee that it would work with the Tab S7 because it had the same Wacom EMR tech.

Spoiler alert: it did not work. Turns out the employee was incorrect. Otherwise it is a very high quality pen that I am sure is just lovely to use on a compatible device.

I’ve used an M-Audio 2-channel audio interface for over 4 years now. Before that, I used an MBox. I’ve never needed more inputs or any sends in my small home studio until recently. So, when I got extra money from this whole pandemic crisis, I decided it would be an appropriate time to upgrade my studio.

I believe this was a perfect step up in my game. Setting it up is a little more cumbersome than my M-Audio device was. The M-Audio I had was literally just plug and play- once I plugged it in, the computer found the drivers and everything and it worked right away out of the box.

I still went and downloaded the external controller for it from M-Audio’s website. But, I didn’t HAVE to do that for it to work. This Scarlett unit does require you to go ahead and download some software and install it for it to be of use.

However, it also has more than just two inputs to deal with- there’s also the sends, which the M-Audio device didn’t have. I don’t hear any latency or buzz or anything in the unit and it is immediately responsive to the controls.

It also has dual headphone outputs, so I can have an artist in my studio getting a feed directly from the box instead of having to use a splitter or anything to send them a signal. The sends are also nice because I have some stuff that was recorded previously at another studio and I have some outboard FX I’ve inherited that I wanted to be able to run those recordings through.

Now I can do that. This is a perfectly good mid-level AI for a home studio or portable recording purposes. I would definitely recommend it (it was recommended to me) and would certainly purchase again if given a second chance.

The only reason I rated it 4 instead of 5 stars is because I reserve 5 star ratings for products that REALLY wow me, when this merely met all of my expectations.

I’ve had this item for about 3 weeks and it’s been a joy to have! The first thing I noticed as soon as I unboxed this interface is the build quality! This thing is made to last! It’s extremely well built and this makes it great if you’re on the go.

The knobs have great precision and resistance for you to make meticulous adjustments to your inputs and outputs. I really love the dual headphone jacks and with Focusrite Control you’re able to control what comes out from your interface! One thing I wish was possible to toggle would be the Air feature on the inputs.

You have to toggle the Air feature through the Focusrite Control software. Also just note that this interface is NOT powered through USB! It needs its external power adapter (which is included with various adapters for international use).

Other than that, the Air feature is outstanding! It gives it some really airy openness on vocals and also instruments (especially on acoustic guitars. For some it might add some harsh frequencies, but it’s nothing a bit of EQ cannot solve! I use it along Ableton and also Logic Pro and it’s helped me separate sounds coming out of the interface through it’s various outputs for more volume control in live performance settings! This has totally met my expectations and beyond! For anyone looking for a great, reliable and flexible interface for live performance or small band recordings, look no further! This is an awesome piece of equipment and worth the money!.

I upgraded from an 18i6 gen 1 and it’s a great device, it includes feedback loop capability which the old one didn’t. That makes capturing sound direct from the pc via Yt/web etc simple. It’s look and feel are solid and smooth with good visual cues from the various lights that show all active inputs and settings.

Setup was a breeze and a minimal amount of effort was all I needed to have it installed as my daw interface using Pro Tools. The Focusrite control software is very easy to use and everything you need to adjust is easy to find and do in the software.

It’s early days still but the sound quality is excellent.

This is a nice multi-pen overall, it’s got a thick body, but all multi-pens tend to be this way, the rubber grip is soft without being spongy, and switching between different colors is simple. The clip is reasonably strong and seems to hold up well to regular use – it’s spring loaded, so it handles thicker pockets and should hold well in the long run.

The only issue I had with this pen has to do with the ink – the black and blue inks are decent on both a RocketBook and plain paper, not rich, but not washed out either. The green and red, however, are very pale and washed out on both surfaces and do not thicken up even with multiple layers of ink.

I’ve got some other refills in green and brown that I’m going to swap to see if the issue is with those specific ink cartridges or if it’s a problem with the colors in general. All the colors do erase as designed with the ‘eraser’ on the end of this pen, and they wipe clean with water using the RocketBook, although I have not tried erasing on standard paper.

Replacing the ink is a simple process and I’ve had no issues there. If you were looking for a good multi-pen for use with Frixion inks, this pen body is a great choice, but I’d suggest trying the inks before buying a lot of refills or investing in a RocketBook, which is somewhat disappointing as I like the idea, it’s just that the red and green inks are somewhat of a let down.

These are AMAZING! The only pen I plan to use going forward. The ink is a dark navy color. They write really smoothly, and erase well. The eraser does not leave any residue, not even those little flakes that you blow away.

Its like magic! Also as a Lefty these are %1000 percent better than old school erasable pens that just coated the side of your hand in ink. These still leave some if you’re writing a whole essay but I honestly the think it might be less than a regular pen, and you can just use the eraser to get it off.

These pens have also upped my confidence, cuz no one knows it’s erasable. You ever feel nervous about filling out forms wrong or mistakenly put the wrong date by a signature? Well worry no more! I recently became the treasurer of a nonprofit.

My first time holding a position like this and my stress about filling out all the paper work has gone way down since getting these pens. The only down sides I can think of are that the ink might run out kind of fast.

But I really can’t tell because I have been using these pens exclusively for 3 months straight. So it might just be overuse by me lol. It would be awesome if they just sold ink refills, cause the erasers on each pen are still totally intact after using up all the ink.

My only other worry with these is the longevity of the ink. I am an avid journaler and have journals that are 20 years old, some inks definitely age better than others. Hopefully this ages well, cuz its the only pen I’ve been journaling with.

I’ll try to come back and update if the ink deteriorates.

These erase better than past erasables I’ve tried, but still a little something to be desired. The ink actually mostly disappears, about 90 to 95%, which is impressive. Only little traces of ink are left in the deepest impression groves caused by the ball point.

But then when you try to write over the same area where you just erased, the new ink doesn’t want to stay very well. Or at least, it looks a little smudgy. So you can definitely tell there was a correction made, it just looks suspicious from a glance.

The other thing I’m not in love with has nothing to do with the erasing part. It’s the way the ball point writes. I can feel a little drag as I draw, or maybe better described as it feels scratchy –like I’m hurting the paper, if it had feelings.

It’s definitely not a smooth glide, which I much prefer. I’ve compensated by trying to press less firmly down when apply the ball point. This helps a little, and definitely causes less of an impression to be made in the vellum.

I was hoping to get everything I use on computers in this one tool kit. First use I needed a 9 mm socket and found out the sockets are SAE instead. The kit is just meh. Nothing to get excited about and likely to make you need tools outside the kit.

Especially for replacing the ultra-cheap soldering iron.

DON’T USE THE SOLDERING IRON. It has been recalled. The power wires are insufficiently crimped and may come loose inside. If you feel confident doing so you could crimp them properly, but I’d advise buying an iron separately if you don’t already own one.

It’s a shame, it comes with solder and a nice vacuum solder sucker, but I have to dock an egg and some might dock more. They really should remove it and change that to “spare soldering iron tip”, that’s what I got out of mine and customers would appreciate the concern.

That aside, it’s a good deal, especially on sale. If you don’t already own these tools, then you aren’t making your living with them and don’t need to spend $12 each. It’s a great starter kit if you’re learning PC repair, and a 1-stop solution if you like to tinker at home.

The rest of the tools are acceptable quality, and whichever ones you don’t like you can replace with your favorites.

I would recommend this to someone if it is on a good sale. The only reason I bought it was because I was a few dollars short on getting a promotion and needed a few of the things in it. The tools aren’t very high quality but if all you use them on is a PC (not being abused around the house or in the garage) they should last a long time.

Very handy to keep by my PC so I don’t have to constantly go grab stuff from the garage.

I recently bought a 1975 Honda cb750 which I just got back on the road after being in storage for many years. It was missing it’s factory tool kit, which so many of these vintage bikes are. I cam across this one online and it is almost a perfect match, there are a few things I would like to add(tire changing tools, 19-21mm spanner for rear wheel), but the case has room for a few extras so you can customize the way you want, and it still fits into the toolbox/tool tray located under the seat.

This is a perfect basic toolkit to keep on the bike. No, you wont be able to dismantle your whole bike with this, but for emergency roadside repairs, clutch/throttle cable adjustment, flat tire, burnt out bulb, fouled spark plug.

At least you have something that can help you get the job done. All motorcycles used to come with a toolkit similar to this, but now they stopped doing this. So for guys with newer bikes this is a no brainer too.

Great metric kit, well packaged. Quality will be more than up to the job of on-the-road minor fixes. Although the kit wouldn’t fit under my seat altogether, it did fit after taking the spark plug socket out, which now stacks underneath the kit (07 Triumph Street Triple with a standard seat, in the under seat space behind the battery).

Better quality than OEM tool kits in my experience. \nUR service including ordering, delivery and after sales back-up for other items (During the Covid-19 pandemic) has been excellent. Would recommend to others 👍.

A must have for any CB owner. I bought my CB1100 about 1 week before my Dad did. He not only laughed but was disappointed at the “tool kit” provided with the bike purchase. I bought this originally for me and found that it was a perfect fit for the extra small compartment under the seat.

It was also able to contain the impressive 2 piece “tool kit” that came with the bike. There is certainly more room for additional pieces. I ended up sending this to my Dad for a Birthday present he was extremely pleased to hear about it.

I will be purchasing this for myself. again.

PROS: this pen has been around for decades and was one of the first roller ball pens; it’s clearly withstood the test of time. This is a well-balanced pen. It doesn’t have a “cushion” grip but it doesn’t need one.

The pen is 6-1/2” long with the cap affixed to the back of the pen and is therefore slightly longer than most pens, which I like. I like the ink because I write with a triangle. Specifically, I use a plastic triangle to make every vertical stroke in each letter, and as a result I’m constantly pushing the triangle from left to right.

If the ink in the pen doesn’t dry fast enough (which is the case with most roller balls and especially with “gel” pens), the ink will smear. Fortunately, that doesn’t happen with this pen. CONS: the one and only disadvantage of this pen is that the lines are not as consistent in thickness as a more expensive roller ball such as a Mont Blanc, Lamy or a Rapidograph.

This is being very “nit-picky” and the average user won’t even notice this and it should not deter you from purchasing this pen.

To me, this original roller ball pen is still the best. It has wonderful ink flow and a point that writes smooth as silk. The color of the ink is a solid dark green and is very easy to see. For those that need another color it is also available in blue, black and red and purple.

While it is not refillable it is very long lasting. The water based ink will write over a mile on average and you get a dozen in a box. It has a metal pocket clip so that it stays with you when you travel and a snap on cap that posts well so that it is not lost and does not add any appreciable weight to the back end of the pen when you write.

This is my first rolling mill and so far it has worked perfectly for me. I’ve made a complete set of earrings, pendant and cuff bracelet with embossed patterns on them, plus I’ve used it to roll down wire to the size I needed to make the jump rings, also used it to roll down wire to make a silver ring.

I did all this without a single problem. it works exactly as it is supposed to. After using it for a while I now wonder why I would spend any more on a more expensive rolling mill.
