bottom line: great product. How dare the maker say such outrageously positive things! Well, they’re absolutely right. Appears to be quality pieces of steel, not junky aluminum or powdered iron. nice bamboo shaft.

Best part is a really smart design for piercing earth around roots of weed and, with lots of leverage from the long handle, almost effortlessly pulling up even really large weeds. Glad i bought this rather than trying to make my own, which would have taken many hours.

I owned one once before. I bought a new one with confidence. I was disappointed. The name is the same but the design different. Most notable is that the fingers inserted in the ground are too long. Trying to pivot the pull over the thing’s thumb is near impossible because of the distance from the finger tips to the ground.

I’m thinking of going to a machine shop and having it modified. I may cut as much as 1-1/2 inches off of the fingers. Costs too much for a lack of serviceability.

I wanted a tool to pull out weeds from my golf course looking home grass. Well I found that tool finally! This tool will save your back and very easy to use. The only thing I don’t like is it’s hard to release the weed from the tool.

They need a release button. You have to flip the tool each time. But let me tell you it’s awesome on grabbing the whole weed to even all the roots. Grab a bag of top soil to replace the small hole the weed left behind.

The best part about this weeder is the ergonomic design and how strong it is. For stubborn weeds with deep roots, you will have to use the tool and your other hand to help pull the weed out whole. This works well with pulling out Bermuda grass growing into your flowerbed especially when the ground is a little wet.

Just be sure to track your Bermuda rhizomes underground so you can be sure to get it all out! I would also recommend pulling any thorny or toxic weeds like horse-nettle with this tool to avoid touching it or injuring yourself with your hands or gloves.

The ergonomic design makes it easier to use with less strain on your wrist. This is surely a keeper for stubborn weeds!.

My last weed puller had a steel tip that was thinner than this one, and it pressed into the soil much easiser and deeper. We have clay soil that gets hard when it is dry. I am not able to push this weed puller down as far in dry soil, so it breaks a lot of the roots instead pulling them out.

The problem with my old weed puller was in the handle. It broke off of the steel portion. This weed pulller feels pretty sturdy, and I think it will last quite a while before it breaks. It’s not the ideal weed puller for me, but it’s the best inexpensive weed puller I found, and I don’t want to spend more money to get the ideal weed puller.

This is a well made weed puller at a reasonable price.

At first I was skeptical as to how useful the tool would be for my needs. This is my second year using the tool for my dandelions on my lawn. I can tell you, it gets all the way down to the roots and takes me half the time as it used to, to do the job.

I also noticed the dandelions are reduced in numbers from the previous year. So, I’m a believer. It saves me time and efforts to remove my weeds. Well worth the money.

Product worked fantastic (it’s a weed-puller. and it pulled weeds very well) the day I received it. Had a similar weed-puller for 10 years before it broke. Day 1 I was very pleased (pulled weeds for about an hour).

Day 2, pulled about 10 weeds. and it broke. Didn’t get two days (or two hours) use out of it. Not recommended.

A strong tool. Able to take on the most stubborn weeds. I needed a tool to tackle the most stubborn of grasses, water grass, the kind with deep roots and that spreads out killing weaker grasses. I broke a real good Fiskers weed puller on one, so I went to this type of weeder for those hard to remove plants.

I looked at several weed removing tools before deciding on a Worth. I felt it was the best product for the value of all I looked at, but had difficulty finding one available , When one became available, I decided not to wait to make a purchase.

I have used it already to remove weeds and it is as easy as described.

Please bring back the one you had yrs. ago. !!!! This thing is AWEFULL. The piece that you would step down on to push it into the ground it so big that it covers one’s vision to see the base of the weed, and when you twist and pull up the weed.

WELL get ready folks. you have a HOLE , it removed more of the grass and soil then the weed. Several people tried it to see if it was just me. NOPE. IT HAPPENED TO THEM ALL. Wish I HAD USED IT EARLIER SO I COULD RETURN IT.

My opinion , QVC is loosing some credibility to what they are selling. Use to love shopping with them, finding now that I really need to take a step back.

The product arrived ahead of schedule. The Garden Weasel Weed Popper Step & Twist works great and is advertised. It saves on the back from bending over. To pop the weeds out I simple turn it upside down and hit the plunger on the ground.

The weed and dirt ball pops out right into my hand. I put the dirt back in the hole and drop the weed, with root ball, into a lawn bag. I wish the two tines were made of a little stiffer material. After punching weeds, the dirt that squeezes between the tines spreads the tines apart.

A couple of whacks with a hammer puts them back into alignment. But I wander if the metal may fatigue, weakling in the bend of the tine, and break. $40 down the drain. But after a couple of weeks working on Crabgrass, Nutsedge, and Bermuda grass.

It is still working great.

I bought the Garden Weasel Weedpopper Step & Twist for my husband, to protect his back from the strain of repetitively leaning over to pull weeds. He loves it! It does remove a good bit of soil with the roots, but consistently removes the entire weed plant and the plunger easily releases it into a bucket for disposal.

I purchased a Garden Weasel Garden Claw 30+ years ago and it’s still going strong. This Weedpopper Step & Twist is just as sturdily constructed as the Garden Claw and is a high quality tool that will likely last just as long.

Great tool for rooting out weeds, even deep rooted ones. Seems a little stronger than the “wolf”brand brand tool I had earlier which broke after several years of bending and straightening. – Time will tell if this lasts longer.

Excellent garden tool. Makes removal of deep rooted weeds in the garden or lawn much easier.

This is the best weeding tool I have tried, I love it. Narrow, sharp and strong. The handle looks uncomfortable, but it isnt.

I ordered for myself and neighbor. We like it but feel it could use a spring or something to help open and close, more like needle nose pliers. Having to manually open is kind of a pain. Also weeds and seedling do not come out with root unless it is very strategically placed, sometimes it take 2 or 3 attempts before roots are pulled.

Not sure I would buy again, I think I’m going to try some inexpensive needle nose pliers and see how they work out.

1- Dirt fills the cavities between the serrated teeth quickly and the weed puller then becomes like a regular pair of pliers. 2- When the ground is dry and hard, the roots remain in the ground and the stem breaks off, leaving the roots in the ground.

3- When the ground is wet or moist, dirt quickly fills the as between the serrations of the weed puller, making the serrations ineffective. It then become a regular pair of pliers and it is difficult to remove the dirt out of the cavities between the serrations to restore the effectiveness of the serrations.

It was a good idea but does not work out well in practice.

I used this for a couple of days to pull out English ivy, honeysuckle, and oriental bittersweet vines. It works very well–it is sturdy and the teeth grip the vines without breaking them off. My only complaint is that it is hard to find when dropped in the weeds.

It would be better if it were bright red.

This weeder was powerful and sturdy. Fun for the entrie family. Great for use in flower beds! The release mechanism takes some getting use to. You have to remember the deeper you the pedal into the ground the more force it will require to release the weed from the tool.

So for small weeds you only need to apply a small amount of pressure to extract the weed. Also the large hole afterwards made me uneasy. So for use in grass I was hesistant as I didn’t know how to address the large holes left behind.

But for my garden bed the tool was excellent.

Excellent service. Ames makes the best garden tools in the United States. This Stand-Up Weeder will get extract those nasty Johnson grass roots. This is a terrific tool. Walmart got this to me expeditiously.

I had read about this tool in other blogs. Apparently this was resurrected and now sold at B M stores. Its got the problem of not discharging the weed just pulled Sticks badly. The lever seems not to be engaging.

Not sure if this is worth the trouble if you have clay soil. Or nasty weed grass.

Well built. Comfortable handle. Very fast weed removal without bending over or spraying weed killer.

The product is well-built however the prong at the end is too narrow to work with efficiently, needs to be wider.

The prong is not sharpened to cut through weed roots.

I hope whoever invented this becomes a millionaire many times over. This has not only saved my 71-year-old back from all of the bending, it works just as it claims. It is especially good for removing dandelion, or similar flat leaf weeds in my lawn.

It takes them right out by the roots. And it is actually fun to use! Weeding is no longer a chore, but something to look forward to, because it is so simple. I rate this “gadget” right up there with other things I would not want to live without.

I’ve been using this since last year and it saved me from pain (65 yo) in removing pesky weeds. It works flawlessly with a simple push and lift. It is the best garden tool I’ve ever purchased. No charging,gas,or electric lines needed.

In fact our yard maintenance man was impressed when he saw me using it—he thought we were never getting dandelions or other weeds because I use it weekly (one neighbor borrows my tool, but other neighbors don’t care about dandelions unfortunately).

I purchased my first one several years ago after moving into my new home in the high desert of Washington State. My yard backed onto a pasture and I battled with tackweed and sage brush. Both were difficult to pull out by the root and the tackweed (also known as goatshead) presented the additional problem of the three pronged thorns tearing through my gloves.

This grandpa’s weeder was a godsend! Now I primarily deal with Thistles in my flower beds and dandelions in my yard. I broke the handle on my original weeder and purchased a second one for myself as well as one for my neighbor who had assisted me in my weed control.

I highly recommend this tool for those who have flexibility issues and find hand weeding difficult.

This is the greatest tool for anyone who has a home and driveway/sidewalk where grass and weeds can grow. It’s especially good if your ability to bend over, apply pressure with hands or arms, or stress those back muscles.

You are always standing up straight which does a lot for releasing pain and prevents sournesses that seem to plague many people, especially older folks.

Not quite what I was expecting. For some reason I thought this had wheels. I also thought the the telescoping handle would be lockable. I haven’t quite figured out how to get it to stay locked. The blade is angled a bit, which I guess makes sense and helps pull out the weeds, but it just feels weird.

It worked on the driveway. Not so great on the sidewalk. So, I guess I have to spend some time with it to master it.

We bought it to get out the grass between our flagstone areas. So its an uneven and not at all straight like a sidewalk or bricks. However, after some fussing around and learning to use it, the husband is hard at work cleaning between the stones and it looks great.

I bought this tool today because I was fed up of mowing weeds not lawn. The tool is very effective and will pull the weed with the root. The area looks like the surface of the moon and I am now filling the holes with compost and grass seed.

It is very quick at removing the weeds and will save a lot of back breaking digging. To be fair the holes left behind are a fraction of the size, had I used a spade it would have look like a building site.

I waited for some rainfall before I started. This softened the ground making the tool easier to use. I would like to see some improvement in the build quality, The handle could do with a softer grip or be spring loaded to remove the pressure from the hand, The foot grip/lever is plastic.

Although tough I think time will tell and this could be the first thing to fail. The foot lever should be made of Aluminium and it would be worth the extra cost involved in the production. Overall it saved loads of time and effort, hopefully in a week or two I will have a lawn not a dandelion bed.

Defiantly one of the best tools in the shed.

I bought the weeding tool this week and have spend an hour, or so, using it. I removed very large to small weeds in compacted but soft soil. I am in my 60s and relatively fit, and consider it is far easier to use and much quicker than the traditional ‘kneel down and use the small hand tool’ method.

The action requires very little physical or mental effort at all. The item is extremely easy to use and is light weight. It was not tiring to use at all. To demonstrate how simple it is to use, my 6 yo grandson used it very effectively and quickly from the get go.

Having said that, he is the smartest and strongest boy in the world. 🙂 While it is not a cheap item, its warranty will outlive me and it should be good value for the money in the long run. I highly recommend it.

I’m glad I bought this product. It’s very easy to use and has quite a strong pull. Releasing the weeds is a breeze and as shown in Bunnings’ advertised video, you really can fling the weeds a few metres away into a waste/compost bin.

As the lever on the ground is plastic, I have concerns about its longevity. I haven’t had any issues with it so far but think a metal one would’ve been better. It doesn’t handle uneven ground particularly well but that’s easily worked around by placing the weeder at a slightly different angle.

As it pulls the roots out (as is best practice), it will leave some holes in the grass if the weed’s roots are long or extensive. That’s easily remedied with a small handful of soil. Where roots are shallow, it hardly leaves a hole.

Overall, I’m really impressed with this user friendly weeder.

This came in great shipping packaging, very safe since it is a blunt object. The weeder is just the right size both the handle and the part that picks the weeds. It won’t interfere with any bushes or other plants, and will focus only on the weed I pull out because the two sharp prongs are small.

Much better quality than [. ], etc. I wanted USA made and this is partially USA made. The Tiawan prong(or fork) used to dig out the little pesty growth is larger, stronger, and will be more effective than the other discount hardware’s I madevisited.

Long handle made in USA is great for the older folks. Better start buying USA made!.

I was glad to find that I could order this to be delivered to my local Walmart store as I could not find it in any of my local stores except for a few hardware stores that wanted a high price for it.

This tool is not fancy, but it is perfect for what I needed and it is a good quality tool also.

I had a dandelion puller on my Christmas wish list, amd preferably a stand-up one if such a thing existed. Thankfully, the one my husband got me was this one. I love it! Very heavy duty and simple to used.

We recently moved and the house came with lots of landscaping where I find dandelions next to plants I want to keep and not damage. This bad boy just easily and quickly pulled all 40-50 or so out of the front landscaping, getting at least 1-2″ of the tap root probably 75% of the time.

Several times when it ‘missed’, probably due to bad placement on my part, I could reach into the hole and pull the taproot myself. My front landscaping has some some dirt, some gravel, and some areas with that creepimg juniper type stuff that has wood branches all over the ground, which provided a challenge, but if I could move the branches enough to get a clear shot at the dandelion, this bad boy worked.

Now my summer landscaping maintenance doesn’t seem so bad. Yay!!!.

This is not long enough to pull out any roots, so you’re just wasting time pulling the top part/leaves off as they will grow right back. I was previously using the Fiskers which worked great, but it had plastic in the design and ended up breaking.

I thought this would be a great replacement since it has an all metal design, but I have tried this on about 20 or so dandelions and similar weeds and haven’t pulled out a single root yet. The tongs at the bottom aren’t sharp or long enough to dig deep enough to pull out an entire weed.

only the above ground portion. I have stopped using it completely and it’s just a fixture in my garage at this point. It’s not worth the time using it. Wish I would not have spent money on it.

I was skeptical, but when I got it I noticed the all steel construction. I immediately used it after a good rain. Removing weeds was so easy. Set it over the week, step down on it and pry the weed out.

Then push the plunger to release the weed in a bucket and reset the mechanism. I pulled hundreds of weeds in an hour without straining my back. Neighbors walking by kept asking about it, cars slowed and watched me popping weeds.

Seriously, this is a great tool – just use it on a soaked dirt to make it nearly effortless.

This item is fantastic, if it has one slight criticism, it is that the prongs could be a bit longer to considering the length of dandelion roots. I am disabled and it is the best thing that I have had in the garden for years.

This will be such a help now that I have arthritic knees and fingers. It might not be perfect for deep rooted weeds.

Stand up and weed! I do have to use my foot as a fulcrum most of the time but it’s so much easier and faster that I weed more often and the yard looks dandelion free almost every day.

I love my new weeder except one feature. My diet is too dense, and I am not strong enough to push the weed/dirt plug off the tines with the hand slide intended for that purpose. I use my foot and push down on the bolt of the same mechanism to eject the plug.

Otherwise, its great!.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this item. I was concerned the weak point between the blade and the handle might not be up to the job, but I was wrong. Very sturdily made and easily up for to the most difficult tasks at hand.

Bargain at that price.

Pretty ergonomic to use. More effective where gaps are larger as quite a thick blade. With larger gaps it’s very effective. Easy to use.

This weeder helped me get rid of countless weeds in my yard (and gave me a good workout). It is well-made, and heavy duty. After seeing various flimsy-looking weeders at my local big box stores, I am so glad that I found this weeder at my local Ace.

Used this dandelion puller in my lawn. When I was done, I filled 1. 5 5-gallon buckets with dandelions. Yes, this particular puller requires you to get “up close & personal” with dandelions, but for me, it allowed more precision pulling.

Also, this item was very inexpensive, so it was a win-win situation.

I purchased this for a family member a few years back. It gets used often and still is like new. It also works great.
