The best time to plant creeping thyme is in the spring, after the last frost has passed. This herb is quite hardy and can withstand a light frost, but it’s best to plant it when the weather is warm and settled.
Creeping thyme prefers full sun but will tolerate partial shade, and it needs well-drained soil. To plant, simply scratch some soil away to loosen it, then press the thyme plant into the ground and lightly cover with soil.
Water well and keep the soil moist until the plant is established.

Basil pods grow delicious, fresh, leaves that sprouted in about 3-5 days and after about 2 weeks were producing edible leaves. We did purchase the strawberry pods as a bonus but we haven’t used them yet.
If they are anything like the basil pods i can see this being a life long investment.
My 20-something daughter loves to garden. This garden was perfect for winter until she can get back outside in her garden. We didn’t really need to read the directions to put it together. It has extra arms to raise the light bar higher when the plants grow.

I planted twice! The first time I planted I did not soak the seeds, because it wasn’t in the instruction manual. After weeks of barely anything growing I gave up! Then a friend of mine told me the best practice is to soak the seeds for 18-24 hours before planting.
I did this, and now they’re growing like crazy! I highly recommend trying again with new soil, and soaked seeds.
If I could I would post the pictures of my new babies, but words will have to do. These kits deliver! So easy and such wonderful little seedlings only a week after planting! Highly recommend! :seedling::potted_plant:
I just wanted to say that every one of my Herbs are growing very well. As described, when I followed the directions they sprouted very quickly. This was particularly important to me because I live in Oregon and have a really good idea where this company is.
We have had enough bad press and find it refreshing to hear something nice.

the 5 star rating is for the seller’s ingenuity. A seed is smaller than a grain of pepper but the same color. ( a grain of salt looks huge). The only way I could figure out how to plant them was to mix a spoon of soil in with them to get the specs out of the little jewelry size baggie.
So far no sign of sprouting. Come spring I will purchase small plants. size. Still I got what was advertised, 100 seeds. (give or take as they were too small to count like magic beans) No complaints.
Researched and created the most ideal conditions for this type of seed. But only 50% of the seeds planted showed some signs of life. However, the ones that sprouted, did not last long and died off. Also prior to starting anything, I reached out to seller (multiple occasions) and they were completely unresponsive when i reached out to them for advice on (what they thought would be best way to germinate the seeds).
Wished they were more responsive, maybe i would have had a better experience.
The listing says 100 plus seeds, so I thought there would be 100 seeds in one packets. Not sure if that’s what they meant because there were more like 40. Anyway, I planted the week after Mother’s Day, but no sign of them yet above ground.
Still holding out. They did arrive in a timely matter!.

This was the only place I could readily find Summer Savory and Thai Basil (in stock) so I also ordered 3 packets of chile peppers. They arrived quite promptly and I am impressed these seeds are packed in individual foil, zip-top envelopes.
This was hardly a “Jumbo” packet. Very, very dissatisfied. I was expecting something of a larger quantity than just a regular pack of seeds that you can buy for 99 cents, and don’t have to pay for shipping! On top of that, it was delayed 3 times in the shipping process!!!!.

Thyme has always been a considered a plant that could grant courage. In fact, Medieval knights often tucked it in their armor as a charm when they went to war. This practice was understandable as the Greek word thymus, for which the herb was named after, means courage.
Historically, its also been used as a source of medicine. The primary essential oil, thymol, has antiseptic properties and so the herb was used as an ancient disinfectant and antifungal cure. In fact, its still used for these reasons today and thymol is the active ingredient in most mouthwashes and organic disinfectants.
Of course, were all most familiar with thyme in cooking. Kitchens from Iran, France, Portugal, Sweden, North Africa and everywhere in between all use thyme in their everyday cooking, though varieties can vary greatly in their scent and flavor.
This ground thyme has a robust, piney flavor with hints of camphor and bitterness. A must for developing bouquet garni. Ground Thyme can be used in nearly all forms of cooking and baking.
I use thyme in quite a few dishes. Even though I grow thyme in my garden year round, quite a few dishes call for ground thyme. The ground thyme I received from Spice Jungle was well sealed, ground nicely and seemed fresh with good color.
I appreciate the wide selection of spices, cooking and baking ingredients that Spice Jungle offers. Free shipping is a real plus! Without a doubt I will placing future orders!.
Ive recently switched to your company for my spice purchases. I am extremely pleased with your products, particularly the dehydrated mushroom variety. I recently made a mushroom risotto with a variety of your mushrooms and it was excellent! I’ve already referred my grown daughters and daughter-in-law to Spice Jungle! I’m excited to look for recipes using black garlic.
This is the 2nd time I gave ordered from this site. Again, I can say I am NOT disappointed! The quality and amount of the product far surpasses what can be purchased in a grocery store. The packaging and shipping is also phenomenal.
I pray that this company’s practices don’t decline. I would strongly recommend this site for anyone who takes pride in the ingredients used for cooking.
Pachysandra terminalis is a slow growing groundcover with alternate, simple leaves, and creeping stems. The flowers are white, borne in late March and throughout the month of April. It is evergreen but the leaves may yellow in winter and is very cold hardy.
When group planted, the plant forms a dense carpet of glossy green leaves to a height of 6 – 10 inches. Pachysandra terminalis grows in sun and partial to deep shade. It prefers a moist, well-drained soil in full shade that is both acidic and rich and so a peaty soil with fertiliser applied is suitable.
However, the plant is tolerant of periodically dry soils and is tolerant of soils of neutral to slightly alkaline pH. Pachysandra terminalis can be propagated by dividing and transplanting clumps, by rooting stem cuttings, or by removing plantlets that have grown through the spread of roots from the main plant.
It takes about three years to establish a groundcover with plants spaced between 6 and 12 inches apart.
Common Thyme Qt Tuyanol essential oil from Pranarom perennial shrub that can reach a height of 30 cm. It has small curved lanceolate leaves. The stem is woody and the branches are ascending. The flowers are pale pink grouped in dense blooms.
It is recommended to ingest along with honey, cane sugar or vegetable oil. Except for the opinion of an expert, do not use during pregnancy, lactation or in children under 3 years of age. Avoid skin contact if not diluted first.
Keep away from all sources of heat and light. Keep out of the reach of small children.
Thyme Thymol is one of the very best essential oils for supporting the immune system and for tonifying the circulation. It can be used to help resolve skin problems that may be acquired during a hospital stay.
Thyme oil can also be useful in support of a clear respiratory tract; diffuse a drop or two during times of seasonal illness. Like many of the herb and spice oils, thyme can be beneficial for occasional digestive upset.
Thyme Thymol can help aid normal digestion. During an instance of tummy upset, well-diluted thyme (one drop in one teaspoon of carrier) can be rubbed in a gentle clockwise motion on the abdomen. During times of seasonal illness, thyme can be placed in the diffuser (no more than 3 drops) along with Rosalina, spruce, or fir needle to help ease congestion and promote better air quality.
If you have been hospitalized, once you are home and have been cleared to shower, consider adding 9 drops per each ounce of liquid body wash to help your skin feel free of “hospital smell”.
Some folks say it’s too light or doesn’t last as long as the regular essential oil or Essence. I have no problem with that. Smells like freshly juiced lemons to me. I mostly use in blends & most of my blends are for scent (perfume) roll ons.
Lemon’s a bright fresh top note & top notes by nature, don’t last a long, long time (otherwise they’d be a base note, like Vetiver. Personally I think if a lemon that was THAT strong, it’d burn your nose off?) Top Notes are ethereal, they come out, awaken & play with your senses, teasing them & inviting you to continue exploring the many nuanced layers of a diffuser or scent blend, IMO.
I think this lemon does just that, so for floral perfumery & blending purposes, it’s great & I like it better than it’s stronger cold pressed big sister. She’s the one I’d choose for making a cleaning solution, furniture oil or in a diffuser if I was going to run it awhile to air out & freshen a stale room or kitchen.
This one is great for hair care or body products too because it’s not photo toxic like the EO, which is a huge plus! It all depends on what you’re going to do. Pick accordingly.
There are few varieties of Frankincense that PT sells. They are all amazing! Truly. But this one; the Carterii variety, to me, is the one tried and true classic frankincense scent. This scent is ubiquitous with what I know to be that earthy, musky, resinous scent that promotes such blissful calm and relaxation.
Whether it’s simply smelling the bottle or diffused or used on my body in some way, this Frankincense oil stands the test of time as a must have in any essential oil collection. I use it all the time for a variety of things.
It’s a great base oil and blends so well with a large variety of scents making it highly versatile. I would recommend trying all of the Frankincense oils that PT has, but this one, for my money, has that classic scent that we all know and love.
Use this premium quality French Thyme to season soups, stews, roasts, & potatoes, or add to gumbo or jambalaya. These thyme leaves have a deeper, a darker green color, stronger aroma than Mediterranean, are a bit more flavorful and contain a slight bitterness.
We love Savory Spice. We have found it to have fresh potent spices that put the ones in the grocery store to shame. We will never go back. The spices are high quality and the price is phenomenal for the quality.
The subscribe and save makes getting our routine spices a breeze. Shipping is quick and everything came well packaged. If you get the chance to go get o one the stores, I highly recommend the place smells amazing as do their spices.
I’ve made a spice mix for years and have gone through the iterative process of changing amounts and types of spices until I felt that it was “just right”. I’ve always gotten store-bought spices from finer and finer brands, starting with “standard” store brands and the ones you know when you “upgrade”.
Then I went to the Savory Spice store in my local mall and was blown away. I priced the stuff out and found that it was 8% more expensive to get these spices than the store bought ones. For what I’m building, that is inconsequential.
I got the units and weighed them out and build my mix and I’ve never experienced a more potent and aromatic blend ever. It is the thing of legends literally because everyone involved started a heated discussion about world history and The Spice Trade with comments like “This is why The Spice Trade” was “a thing”.
HAHA!! So, I will simply not buy spices anywhere else when I need to know that the quality is bar none. Thanks to everyone involved in my orders and I hope that anyone reading this will understand the career that I have behind these words and the significance of my endorsement here.
I’ve never had a bad experience stocking my spice cabinet with anything from Savory Spice. The products are high quality and have great flavor. The staff are knowledgeable, super friendly, and the store just smells amazing.
Salus Thyme Plant Juice contains the juice from freshly harvested pressings of the thyme herb. Thyme juice is an aromatic substance with a distinctive aroma and flavour. The World’s Most Colorful Houseplant That’s what Norman Winter calls croton plants, and he should know. As Director of the University of Georgia Coastal Botanical Gardens in Savannah, Georgia, Dr. Winter certainly knows his way around tropical plants.
Mamey Croton (Codiaeum variegatum var. pictum ‘Mamey’) puts a new twist ‘– literally ‘– on the traditional look of croton plants because of its corkscrew-like leaves! Festive Foliage Mamey Croton’s foliage is every bit as colorful as other types of croton plants; in fact, this plant looks like the life of the party! Vivid shades of red, orange, yellow, and green splash the leaves with brush strokes of color that cause abstract paintings to pale in comparison.
But the difference is in the shape of the foliage. Other types of croton plants have broad, flat leaves, but Mamey Croton sizzles with crinkled streamers of foliage! Tropical Touch Before they were renowned as the world’s most colorful houseplants, croton plants were widely considered the world’s most colorful shrub species.
Across their native habitats in Australia, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Caribbean, crotons are tropical treasures that brighten landscapes with their irrepressible vibrancy. If you’ve traveled to the Caribbean, you’ve surely seen crotons planted en masse around resorts and other upscale venues.
If you’d like a fond reminder of your tropical travels ‘– or if you’d just enjoy the tropical look this plant will add to your garden ‘– grow Mamey Croton as a vibrant complement to your other landscape plants.
If you prefer to garden indoors, Mamey Croton will likely be the most unusual addition to your houseplant collection! Bring the Tropics Indoors Houseplants typically are tropical plants that grow in exotic locations around the world, but they simply won’t survive winter temperatures in most U.
S. growing zones. This is one reason they’re adapted as houseplants ‘– they’re protected indoors from the wide fluctuations in temperatures that are found outside, including freezing conditions. Many of these tropical plants are called “understory” plants, which means they live in the shade of taller plants.
But Mamey Croton is a tropical plant that loves sunshine; in fact, direct sun brings out its lively coloration. If you’re growing this plant indoors, it prefers a sunny location ‘– in a sunroom, solarium, or in front of a sunny window (an east- or west-facing is best).
Benefits of Houseplants As urban sprawl continues to increase in many areas, green landscapes continue to decline. But you can surround yourself with green plants even if you live in a city high-rise by gardening indoors, which is called “interiorscaping.
” You can easily cultivate a multitude of plants by growing them in containers. Houseplants keep us in touch with nature, lift our spirits, and even purify the air in our homes and office spaces. If you don’t enjoy working outdoors, but you love plants, tending to houseplants may be the perfect hobby for you! Designing with Houseplants Look in any upscale interior design magazine and you’ll see houseplants.
Plants bring interior spaces alive by creating stunning visuals, enhancing peaceful settings, providing focal points, and adding textural interest. Part of the design appeal is your choice of container, which not only provides a growing environment for your plant’s root system but also complements your design scheme.
Because Mamey Croton is a riot of color, you may want to choose a bright pot that features a single color of this plant. You can also select a container in a neutral earth-tone shade to focus all the attention on Mamey Croton’s form and color.
Feature Your Plant on a Pedestal or Table Baker’s racks and bookshelves hold lots of houseplants for a profusion of greenery in a small area, but if you really want to feature a single Mamey Croton, elevate it by placing the potted plant on a small table in front of a sunny window.
Or think about using a pedestal to show off your plant in an elegant presentation. Pedestals are available in a variety of heights and styles, and they add striking silhouettes to any room. Enhance Your Office Environment Think outside the box when you hear the word “houseplant” and include “office plant,” too! Whether you work in a coveted corner office or a streamlined cubicle, adding plants to your environment also adds a touch of your personality to an otherwise utilitarian workspace.
Because Mamey Croton is more colorful in a sunny location, the fluorescent lights in many offices can serve as a sunlight substitute if your office doesn’t have a bright window. The best placement for Mamey Croton is close to a fluorescent light fixture, such as you’d have illuminating your desk.
If you’re a business owner with a sunny atrium or reception area in your office building, that’s a perfect indoor location for Mamey Croton! Dusting the Leaves Landscape plants.
2018 purchase of this same type of plants were healthier and bigger, but I think will work out ok. I have 3 each in 4 planters around my pool with sedum ground cover. I like the colors and insect resistant.
The plants arrived in great packaging that allowed them to be stable while being transported even though the FedEx guy probably threw them around a few times before I got them they were still beautiful.

Creeping Rosemary, Rosmarinus officinalis ‘Prostratus’ is best grown in full sun where it will bloom an abundance of blue flowers in spring and early summer. This evergreen herb boasts aromatic leaves that are widely used as seasoning.
As a low growing shrub, it spreads fairly quickly and rarely grows above 1-2′ tall. Widely used as a groundcover in mass plantings or as a low growing hedge, Creeping Rosemary needs little maintenance after being established.
It may be used for its cascading affect over hillsides or retaining walls for a luxurious garden feel.
They arrive on time, very healthy and beautiful, after a week two of them started becoming brown and died. My biggest wish is having a large area full of Rosemaries I love their aroma. I would like you can help me giving me advise how I can make the to grow on the best way.
I bought this as a gift for a friend. It arrived earlier than expected and in great shape. The delivery guy was creative and did not leave the plant at either door of the house. I had to contact Greener Earth to get them to contact the delivery mode to find out the plant was left at the garage.
Our flowering hyssop thyme is a very special herb, only grown in the Middle East, where it is the primary ingredient in the za’atar spice blend (sometimes spelled zaatar, za’tar or zatar), along with sumac and sesame seeds.
It has an ancient history of culinary and medicinal usage, and has a beautiful floral, herbaceous flavor and aroma. Use it in place of regular thyme with roasted chicken, grilled vegetables, and tomato sauces.
I grow herbs in my gardens to use fresh in the summer, spring & early fall. When it’s time to clear the beds and plant for winter. Late September for whole garlic. I clip, dry and jar for winter use.
However, who could dare say no to Burlap and Barrel Farmers?! I used the thyme in some soup I made and it was wonderful–so herby and wildly fresh right from the jar. I also picked up some Oregano Flower Buds somewhere in the world of B and B.
They smelled so heady that they almost didn’t make into my mess of Southern/Asian greens as I didn’t want to part with them. When I did, I thought I was in a jungle garden eating a dish (a weekly staple) I had never tasted before.
Really! How could these experiences with Burlap and Barrel Herbs not be life changing? Really! How could encounters with the Burlap and Barrel Team, Crew, Family Farmer Members and Staff not be life changing.
Well, the experiments and encounters ARE life changing. Fear Not. The changes are joyful and full-filling. Cook your heart out. Feed your world. Phyllis K Fess Baker/pkfb.
This thyme is more fragrant than the average grocery store one. I love it. I put it on most things. There’s a noticeable difference when I use Burlap & Barrel compared to the average store bought stuff.
Nice “secret” ingredient when you share a recipe. They’ll never understand why theirs isn’t as amazing.
Great. I love growing my own herbs. Most of my store-bought spices were a very old, thought. So when I found a friend who had just acquired the whole set of Burlap and Barrel spices, I decided I would try some myself.
I did, and cleared out a lot of the old stuff. Now I combine the Burlap and Barrel spices with some of my own home-grown, and wow, my cooking is better than ever.
Lemony, bright, and pungent, this thyme varietal is a favorite in salads, summer dishes, and even teas. Tempting as it is to use it to substitute in any recipe that calls for thyme, do so only when both thyme and citrus are called for.
Lemon Thyme is excellent, for instance, on a simple roast chicken. Also available in Mediterranean Thyme, French Thyme.
I have grown lemon thyme in the past, but I love having this in my kitchen. It is so versatile: it can be used on so many things that you want to add a touch of lemon to. I have used this on any roasted or steamed vegetables, on chicken, with olives for snacking, in soups, stews, salsas, salad dressing, and more that don’t come to mind right now.
Just taking a whiff of this will put a smile on your face. it is such an uplifting aroma. If you enjoy lemon, you will enjoy this.
Each pretty pot, with it’s hand-poured candle, is a soft grey with a dazzling copper gold inner rim with hare imprint. Winter Thyme is a warming blend of rosemary and thyme with earthy winter wood notes.
Beautifully fresh and uplifting. Made by British company St Eval, these candles are made from a mixture of mineral and vegetable waxes and do not contain any animal products. These candles are 7. 8cm x 6cm and have a burn time of up to 18 hours.
Now is the perfect time to plant creeping thyme. This herb is perfect for growing in areas that receive full sun to partial shade, and it is relatively drought tolerant. When planting, be sure to loosen the soil and add some organic matter to help the thyme get established.
Water the plant deeply and keep the soil moist until it is fully rooted. Once established, thyme will need very little care and will thrive for years with just the occasional trimming.
