I love it! I use it everyday to slowly simmer whole seeds for an ayurvedic tea which I drink everyday. I also use it to boil water for other teas. The top of the handle is not that hot to pour, but if you grab the back to pour – it’s a bit hotter and you may want to use an oven mitt.

I did read other reviews saying it was heavy. If you fill it up all the way, it would be heavy. There’s a line inside the pot, and that’s where I stop. I’m not known for upper body strength, and I don’t feel it’s too heavy.

However, you can always use your other hand with a mitt on, if you want to use 2 hands to pour. I keep it out on the stove, and it looks beautiful. I have all-clad pots as well, on our induction stove.

Okay, the minus is that it’s heavy. And, the plus is that it’s heavy. At this point, I’ll take heavy. Meaning, I just went through the hassle of squabbling over and returning 2 other light weight stainless tea kettles that were such chintzy tinfoil garbage (and one didn’t even work as advertised on my induction range, and both made the water taste like metal.

) If you have an induction range like me, the handle on this does NOT get hot. The whistle works fine. The lid fits tightly and doesn’t get too hot, either. It looks and feels high end. And, it’s BIG and kinda heavy.

I have owned this kettle a little over a year and have generally been pleased with it. I found the balance of the kettle when filled with water seemed a little ‘off’ which made pouring slightly awkward, but not a major issue.

Just recently the three piece whistling mechanism popped off. I’m seeing through the reviews that others have had this same problem and would indicate a design flaw with the kettle’s spout. I’m sorry that I got rid of my perfectly functioning Chantal kettle that I had for fifteen plus years.

I drink a lot of tea and need a reliable and easy to use kettle, even if it is expensive. I am looking for the best. So I went for this one from Le Creuset. But what a disappointment! Where to start? First, when the water is boiling (that’s when you pour the water out no?) you can’t actually pour it out because it sort of “jumps out” in gulps spilling the steaming hot water all over your table.

It is designed that way. Don’t ask. The instruction actually says not to fill it for more than about ⅔ and wait before pouring (?!). The lid is very tight and hard to open and close. It gets really uncomfortable when it is hot and you need to add water.

But, if you do not close the lid tightly it won’t whistle. If it doesn’t whistle and you are doing something else, the water would quietly boil out (there was not a full kettle there to begin with). If it boils out, the front cover and the whistle would melt down and the whole thing turns brown and useless.

That’s what happened to my first kettle of this model. How it is possible that Le Creuset would made a bad kettle? It must be me. I blamed myself and bought just the same as a replacement. Now I’m on my second kettle and having exactly the same problems.

It is almost unbelievable how bad and dysfunctional can be something this simple and yet expensive. Considering just putting it in the garbage, it is that bad. Anyway, there are many other kettles. DO NOT BUY THIS ONE.

I used this kettle twice a day over two years still in pristine condition. I don’t leave water in it and am careful to wipe it out after each use. I love the glossy black color and weight. Heats up fast and never saw any rust.

Second day of use. Kettle was left on the stove by accident for less than ten minutes either with just a bit of water and the lid was open (because the lid design is stupid and it doesn?t have the trigger so it closes automatically) or there was no water but felt like there was water because of the heavy weight of the kettle.

I went in to the kitchen and saw it had been left on. The inside of the kettle was bright red in that short amount of time. I picked it up to put water in it and bringing it over to the sink the bottom fell off into the sink and molten silver coloured metal explodes onto the hardwood floor leaving deep burn marks and filling the house with smoke.

Luckily I was not burned by this. If I had been it would have burned to the bone and I likely could have died of shock. This could not have been aluminum because aluminum has too high of a melting point and I have seen aluminum cans burn in a hot fire all night and not lose shape.

This would have to have been a cheaper lower melting point metal and this scam of a company has the nerve to charge 125$ for this dangerous piece of crap. By the way I contacted them to ask what kind of metals they use and they completely deflected the question and refused to answer.

Save yourself 100$ and buy a higher quality stainless steel kettle.

I’m incredibly disappointed by this product’s design and the company’s response to my issue. After using the matte black version for a few weeks, my apartment suddenly filled with smoke while I was boiling water and when I went to the kitchen I found that the paint coating on a product designed to sit on top of a flame was actually on fire and slowly peeling back.

Obviously that’s a huge design flaw alone, but even more frustrating is that when I went to the company to ask for their help I was blamed for not being careful enough. Again, can’t stress enough that I put the object that’s meant to sit on top of a flame on top of a flame and it burnt.

Not only that, I was told that even if I was “careful” part of the paint coating would chip and peel over time regardless. The customer service representative was willing to replace the product, but warned me that it wouldn’t be available for months.

It’s a nice looking kettle but absolutely not worth the headache, avoid this product if you possibly can or at least get one without the paint coating.

I am going to disagree with the reviewer that says it looks nothing like the picture, it looks exactly like the picture. It’s not a big kettle but you can see a reference to that on the picture that has a hand in it.

Yes, it is lightweight and that’s a good thing because it heats up very fast. I’ve never timed this but I feel like the water heats faster when the tea infuser is in there from the start. Also, I dropped it and it didn’t dent.

My friend accidentally heated this using a high flame on my gas stove and it didn’t warp. The flame was coming out the sides. It’s black so it changed the color a little bit it’s not noticeable. I don’t need an arm workout when I’m pouring tea as I’m mostly right handed and then I’d have only one toned arm so, to me, the lightweight thing is a good thing.

The thermometer is awesome and it’s easy to remove to add the the tea. I’ve used it for about a year and it still has a good seal. It looks beautiful just sitting out on my cooktop, it never gets put away.

Loving my Raven Stovetop Kettle (sorry, not using it for tea, however and no matter) Makes me happy every morning to fill it up with water for my Chemex coffee maker. And the thermometer – can’t believe how much I love being aware of making sure the temp is just right for my brew! Raven is so handsome as well and handle is at just the right angle to pour without steam issues to my hand.

I couldn’t recommend this any higher. If it was updated it would be nice to have little tick marks for # of cups so no guessing would be necessary (or use of a measuring cup).

The unboxing of this tea kettle made me feel like I just opened a present. So perfectly packaged. Top notch quality and beautiful shade of green. My husband and I are tea drinkers and we have purchased more kettles than I care to talk about.

No matter how clean we keep our kettles, somehow there is always a buildup of sorts on the bottom. The last kettle was leaving a residue in our mugs. So when I saw this one, I knew that I was going to have to have it.

Other than the fact that FedEx lost my package for several days and the outside box was heavily damaged when it finally arrived (FedEx’s fault, not Caraway’s), I was thrilled to finally receive my new tea kettle.

The fact that the tea kettle wasn’t damaged from rough Fedex handling is a testament to the sturdy and protective internal Caraway box. The tea kettle’s mist color matches other kitchen appliances of the same color so it looks lovely on my stovetop.

The subtle whistle is a nice change over an older, loud tea kettle. This was my first purchase from Caraway and—FedEx shipping problems aside—I will no doubt be back in the future to do more shopping.

I don’t love that the lid is so hard to take off, it’s a real struggle for me! I’m tempted every time to just leave the thing on & pour the water in through the spout! Lol I’m also not used to the whisper quiet whistle! It’s like someone trying there best to whistle, but they just can’t.

The kettle, in yellow, has a greenish cast. The enamel interior is why I chose this one. That seems fine. The kettle is a tiny bit heavy, but fine. The handle is a stay cool handle. The whistle sounds like a fire alarm, but that is OK.

The one I got has a dent that I noticed only in the kitchen light; a visible dent that was enameled over so not immediately visible until in the light; a small scratch on bottoms side. There are very visible ripples under the enamel in front of and to one side of the handle.

This is the first time I’ve purchased a Chantal kettle after owning a number of Le Creuset kettles over many years. When my latest Le Creuset kettle wouldn’t pour without dripping all over the place, I decided to try something different.

This Chantal kettle is almost half the price of Le Creuset and performs much better so far. I especially like that the whistle cover over the spout can be locked in the open position without holding it open.

I leave it open between uses so any moisture will dry and hopefully cut down on the possibility of the interior rusting over time. The aqua color is exactly as pictured. I’ve been using the kettle for almost two weeks, so I can’t address how long it lasts, but if it lasts longer than most of the Le Creusets I’ve owned, I wouldn’t hesitate to buy Chantal again.

This teapot is so cute on the stove. You need the lid on the pot to pour it otherwise you’ll get a steam burn. It’s super quiet when boiling on the stove. So quiet that if you’re watching TV in the other room and put a pot on for a nice warm herbal tea before bed and then run to flip laundry but, in doing so, forget that you left the pot on, it will quietly boil away until it’s dry and ruins the pot so now you can’t use it anymore, so I bought a kettle instead.

But with enough scrubbing, the burn marks came off so that it still looks pretty on the stove.

Looks great when new. I thought I’d have this kettle for years. maybe the last kettle I’d buy! Pretty soon, I managed to chip the enamel on the sink tap whilst filling. This was my own doing and but I’d expected it to be more robust given the manufacturer’s reputation & the price.

Next, the spring pin securing the whistle/cap came apart which I managed to fix. Now, a couple of years down the line it looks pretty tatty as its rusted on the body all around the circumference where the lid fits in.

Maybe I should have dried it after every filling & boiling? I still think it’s the funkiest kettle on the market but hoped its longevity lived up to its bold & robust design. If you’re still in love with this beauty & determined to bring one home then keep the box & receipt.

Bought this when moving house as we didn’t was to clutter up the counter with an electric kettle. It adds a nice splash of colour sitting on our hob. I’ve had no issues with manufacturing or operation after more than a month.

It basically looks exactly like the picture. I’m using filtered water to avoid limescale buildup. My partner complains that it’s a bit heavy but I see that as a mark of quality. If you’re buying for anyone who is older or has tennis elbow maybe a lighter plastic electric kettle will do a better job.

This is the third Alessi teapot I have purchased. The first, over 20 years ago, was for myself and it has brought me great joy over the years. I use it daily for afternoon tea, and find it graceful, whimsical and very durable.

There is no doubt that this kettle is a work of art. Beautiful but, sadly, barely useable. When water is boiling the steam rises from gaps around the lid to make the handle, which should be heat proof, scalding hot.

The whistle is anything but…more like a cry for help from a drowning sparrow. And because of its wide bottom it is unwieldy when pouring, requiring the use of both hands. This now has a place on a display shelf in.

my kitchen…never to set foot on a stove burner again.

Just looking at my Alessi kettle makes me feel happy! With an induction cooktop, it boils much faster than any electric kettle I have had and holds more water than most standard kettles. I’m super happy with this! It was cheaper at Peter’s than other places and it arrived really quickly.

We love our new Kone Kettle! Such a cute shape, and the colour perfectly complements our glass stovetop and kitchen. The handle folds to the side for ease in filling the kettle. The top stays securely in place when pouring.

We let the water boil to hear the whistle once, but in day-to-day use we don’t usually bring our water to a full boil. We used to have an electric kettle, but we swear the water tastes different in stainless steel.

This kettle doesn’t impart any flavours into our water. Good job, Le Crueset!.

Purchased Feb/Mar 2021 – Received first one broken. It may have broken in transit but I contacted customer service and they sent out another one. My order date was February 19th and I was finally able to have functioning one by the first week of March.

The whistle is loud and can be heard from all corners of our house. It heats up fairly quickly. We use it everyday and so far it is doing the job of a kettle fairly well. I have a few times have grabbed it too quickly after reaching the boiling point and opened up the spout cover to pour the water.

I would recommend waiting at least 20-30 seconds or you’ll get a big splash of hot water. The handle was quite tight at first but after using it almost a month, it has loosened up. It is easy to clean and I don’t mind having it out on my stove all the time.

We previously had the enameled kettle from Le Creuset and didn’t like how it had scaling after a year for the price. We’ve had both electric and stove top kettle and have found most require replacing after a year or two.

I’m hoping ours, the stainless steel version, will last longer than 2 years. If it does, then we will likely purchase another of the same or look for another more dependable one.

This is a great kettle. The shape helps the water boil quickly enough. The handle folds one way only so you can open it to clean it out, but it is safe and stable enough. The lid snaps shut quite well.

The whistle sounds pleasant. The design and enamel is very appealing and looks good quality, but aesthetics are subjective. The only thing that has to be said is this is a luxury item. It is in no way better than a good steel or iron kettle that would cost third the price.

You pay only for the design and the brand hype.

It’s just as pretty as in the photos. The handle is sturdy, comfortable in the hand, and keeps the pouring hand a safe distance from the steam. Pouring is precise. This small tea kettle is just the size I was looking for.

A well-made kettle. The inside of the kettle is seamless and it has a nice shine on the outside. The bottom is thick and the kettle feels not too light. The handle stays cool all the time and the small hole on the center top lets steam out when the water is boiling.

I sent it back. Pretty but the lid was thin and difficult to secure and take off. Not what I was expecting for a “solid” stainless steel kettle.

I like the kettle generally including the fact the lid handle is secured with screws and not welded (our last kettle’s welded lid broke. ) The kettle’s overarching main handle does somewhat obstruct the opening in the top of the kettle when I use a measuring cup to fill the kettle.

I have to do that to use my pour over coffee maker, I can’t just fill the kettle through the spout guessing at the amount of water. The handle stays a bit cooler than our old kettle’s handle but it gets hot enough we still use an oven mitt to pick up the kettle once it has boiled.

That may be partly because we have a gas stove and more heat passes up the sides of the kettle than on an electric range.

absolutely love this kettle. it is light weight but very well made. does not rust. holds quite a bit of water for plenty of cups of enjoyment. whistles when ready, has locking snap back spout so you do not need to hold down and risk splashing.

This stove top pot makes a lovely tea. You can take the difference compared to a microwave. Perfect to make chai lattes when friends are over. Would recommend! Also looks nice sitting out as the stainless matches my stove!.

Empty, this kettle is lightweight. Holds 2. 5 quarts of liquid. Its shape heats water very quickly. It is easy to clean, is stainless steel and the colors are brilliant and beautiful! I have the red color and I could not be more pleased.

It looks good (almost ornamental) sitting on the range. Almost forgot, it whistles when ready and when you pour, it does so without spilling a drop!.

The only positive thing about this Tea Kettle is that it is pretty, and that is all. After 3 months, I noticed rust inside pot. The following month The Tea Kettle did NOT work. After 3 1/2 months, I noticed small Grey Flakes floating in the pot = I believe the inside of the pot was spray painted GREY.

I notified distributer, and I got NO HELP, for I was blamed for the defective product. I personally took very good care of it, so there was NO-WAY I caused the defect.

FINALLY an excellent teapot for a fair price. I bought a different one and it leaked immediately. The 2ns on looked beautiful in the pictures but after a few months it sprang a leak and I had to discard it.

This beauty is heavy-duty, works on my induction stovetop, and I LOVE it. High quality at a fair price, with FAST shipping. Now that’s a novel idea. I wonder where they got that idea? I would buy it again.

I love this humongous tea kettle. I love being able to boil a lot of water when I need too. It heats up really quickly too. The only issue is it doesn’t whistle. that’s not a small thing. So I had to get timer so I could hear it from another room.

Also when boiling a lot of water the kettle is heavy so I got some silcone mitts to pick the kettle up any way I want to handle it. So glad I found it.

I bought this 6. 3 liter tea pot to sit on my induction cooktop, keeping water hot all day, without having to refill, during the winter months. The induction layer works nicely. Once hot, the lowest setting keeps the water hot with a small amount of steam.

The spout, because it’s attached at the bottom of the pot, makes pouring this heavy thing (when filled) much easier. The built-in strainer, where the kettle meets the spout also helps prevent sloshing water from flying out the spout.

It looks nice and surprisingly compact for something that holds a gallon and a half of water. The plastic lining on the handle and knob on the lid stay cool. Construction feels solid. The only downside to this pot is that, while the lid fits snugly and safely, when the pot is hot and I want to see inside, it take two hands and ample caution to remove it smoothly, without flinging hot water or steam onto myself.

Also, the website incorrectly states the country of construction as Germany. The pot comes with a paper tag glued onto the bottom, with “made in Indonesia” on it. It took a few minutes to work the glue off the pot.

Pros: 1. large capacity with no internal seam which often is the source of rust. 2. minimum amount of non-metal/non-stainless steel parts, which is healthier. Cons: 1. It doesn’t whistle so we need to watch it closer when boiling water (we knew it doesn’t whistle before purchasing, but decided to try it).

2. The cover/cap falls off when pouring. The design has a notch that is supposed to keep it in place when in certain position, but the lack of precision during manufacturing resulted in it not working.

This is very annoying, and potentially dangerous since we are dealing with hot covers when pouring boiling water most of the time. 3. The opening surface (where water pours out) isn’t finished smoothly and can cut if you move your hand/fingers over quickly.

4. I am disappointed at the kettle, but not many options are available if you want to have a kettle without internal seam.

This tea kettle does the job, but there are several design flaws. The lid is securely connected to the pot, but it is too close to the handle. When I remove the lid to fill with water, I pinch my fingers as there is very little space to get the lid off and it fits very snug.

Also, the handle is directly over the small opening. The kettle is heavy so you have to position it in a odd way to fill with water. Very annoying to have to wipe the water off the outside of the kettle every time I fill with water.

The spout & handle are not at the correct angles to work easily. When you pour water out, you almost have to turn the kettle upside down to pour water in a cup. In doing so your fingers touch the hot lid & your wrist hurts as the kettle is very heavy.

For most people, this kettle is NOT a one handed operation as listed in the description. The finish is a nice dull teal color which I ordered online. I was disappointed in the finish as I had seen a chocolate brown with a sparkly finish in store that was very nice and would be a beautiful finish on the teal color as well.

No sparkle on the teal finish. This kettle works, but it takes excessively long to boil water.

While I really loved the way this looked, and the beautiful aqua color I ordered, and the excellent design functionality and style, I had to return this product because it was so cheaply made. The steel was VERY lightweight in both the body of the pot and the very cheap lightweight chrome top.

The rubber was ok quality. I had a very similar product by the same company which I purchased about 8 years ago, which is still in great shape and was lovely quality. It was in the same price range (less then due to inflation) but the quality of the old teapot was SO much better.

The only reason why I am replacing it is due to hard water deposits I can’t get off and I want an updated color. Old one still works great! I wish companies would spend an extra dollar or two to bring back good quality.

Things are getting about as cheaply made as you can get without calling them “disposables”. Do better Circulon, please!.

I received this yesterday and my husband & I tested it out last night: Pros: Lovely shape and color (we got turquoise). (Even my husband commented on its attractive design!) The squeeze-and-pour handle is a convenient functional feature.

Cons: The lid doesn’t fit snugly and a fair quantity of steam escapes when the water boils. Watching steam pouring upward from the lid onto the handle is. disconcerting. when you’re thinking about picking the thing up to pour a cup.

I’ve never been actually intimidated by a tea kettle before – this is a first. The whistle is anemic. It can be heard from another room, but only if you’re actively listening for it. If your husband puts on a pot to boil and then returns to the Man Cave to continue watching tv.

he’s not going to hear it. The spout cover is a little wobbly and appears fragile. My husband wondered if that’s the reason for the poor whistle. BOTTOM LINE: Because of the escaping steam and the wobbly spout, I’m thinking that this unit is actually defective.

I plan on returning it to the store, but since it’s only available online, I’ll have to find another kettle. Too bad – it really is attractive.

I have had this teakettle (in blue) for a few years now. I have to admit I bought it more as something beautiful to look at than to make tea with. And for that, it’s PERFECT! That said, here are the major drawbacks as I see them.

1. Awkward handles that fall down a lot. The two metal handles that close over the kettle kind of awkwardly fall down a lot, exposing them to the flame or heating element. 2. The handles conduct heat very well, so if you are using a gas stove, the handle may get very hot and you need a mit to pour the water.

3. There is no line inside the kettle telling you where the max fill water line is, so you may end up boiling water that comes belching out the front without warning. 4. There is no whistle, so when boiling water, you must stay in the room and keep an eye on the kettle until the water is boiling.

5. It’s cast iron so it’s heavy in a way that makes in confusing as to whether there is still water in the kettle or not. 6. It’s relatively small, so there’s probably only enough capacity to boil two cups of water at a time.

7. It two piece design makes it a bit clunky and awkward to wash by hand. (Which I do. ) So, yeah, I just felt like anyone else ogling this should have that information. Again, it really IS a beautiful piece and as a work of art, I love looking at it.

I just think if I had to do it over again, I would get an attractive tea kettle that had more capacity, a heatproof handle, was lighter, and, of course, had a whistle!.

One of the best properties of cast iron is the ability to retain heat. It’s a pleasure to be able to sit down at the table with the kettle on a trivet and be able to read and then recharge your cup. No up and down or reheating needed.

I’ve had no issue with the kettle but the paint did stick to my electric burner once. I asked them how to keep it from corroding because obviously there was nothing wrong with the kettle itself and it still performed its function.

The company was great and just asked for a picture of the kettle and the burner before sending it back. They sent me a new one at no charge.

I use this perfect little teapot every morning. Would it be quicker to use an electric kettle? Yes. But there is something grounding about the weight of this, the sound of the lid and the handles sliding into place.

It is a lovely addition to my morning coffee-making ritual.

I love this glass tea kettle. About every 6-8 months I purchase one from BBB because over time the hard water & calcium deposits stain the glass so much. It’s difficult to scrub it clean so I just buy a new one.

In June 2022 I purchased one from BBB. There were none in the stores so it was ordered & shipped to me which I greatly appreciated. I was also able to use my 20% coupon which helped because the price in the past was much lower than the current price.

I found the same exact product at a grocery store for a few dollars less and ended up returning the one at BBB and bought 3 from that grocery store. It’s a shame because the price at BBB used to be competitive and I’d rather buy this item along with my other merchandise from BBB than from the grocery store.

It was inexpensive and has very good reviews, so I bought it via BBB web site. The package arrived, I opened it and read the tiny print instructions – lots of warnings & don’t. Here’s a few: don’t heat if water level is below 24oz; for electric ranges use a small size burner 5.

6″diameter or less and place the metal, wire trivet on the burner to diffuse the heat; immediately remove the kettle from stovetop once water has reached a boil. The “trivet” is a thin wire, clover shaped, and smaller than the kettle.

I put the trivet on the burner and the kettle on the trivet – it was unstable and easily slid off! A real safety hazard! I went to the web site to return it, entered the order # and it said I can’t return it because it “hasn’t shipped yet”.

Returning it to the store today!!!.

I use this for my tea and to boil my Chinese Herbs. I put the herbs directly in the tea pot and boil on low. The bowl part of the kettle is very round and the neck is thinner so the herbs do not escape when I pour.

(I pour very slow so the herbs do not come out). I read that borosilicate glass is the healthiest way to boil water since no chemicals leach into the water like when you boil with steel, or other types of materials.

The whistle is very low and it not annoying. Use common sense and use an oven mitt to remove your kettle off of the fire. I recommend keeping your fire on low instead of high. This will ensure the plastic handle does not melt.

The whistle is low so pay attention.

I purchased this kettle to replace another one that had a silicone wrapped handle, but was still too hot to touch after the water was boiled and ready to pour. The kettle does not boil water any quicker than other kettles.

This kettles handle grip will stay cool, as long as you use a low-medium gas flame while bringing your water to the boil. Any higher than that and you will need to use a pot holder to pick up the kettle and pour.

The spout as well will sputter and spit while pouring if your flame was too high and the spout was overheated. While pouring and holding the kettle, it is comfortable and ergonomic in its handling, and feels well balanced.

The whistle is rather weak, but does its job. Opening and closing the whistle can also lead to burns if you left the kettle boil too long, as the hot water condenses on the whistle and when you flip it open to pour, you can be splashed with scalding water.

The shape of the kettle is awkward looking to me and not one I am fond of. The finish as well is brushed stainless steel, and I believe it would have made a much classier looking kettle had it sported a polished finish, despite its unconventional shape.

The large opening for filling and cleaning as well as the tight fitting lid are the best features of this kettle.

I purchased the OXO Good Grips Brushed S. S. tea kettle in late Sept. of 2020. I choose to buy this item because of: the brand name, materials used for its construction, and the extra large pot size.

Only responsible, adult family members have used the pot since owning it. We used it about 10-12 times before the center whistle indicator on the spout lid popped out of position and onto the stove top and counter upon lifting the spout lid in order to pour the hot water.

It appears that the center “whistler” was (poorly) spot welded after placing it in the center of the spout’s lid cover. Unfortunately the whistle piece cannot be easily hammered or crimped back into position without causing damage to the spout lid’s remaining structure.

For obvious reasons adhesives cannot be used to make the repair. We will continue to use the kettle, but the whistle feature was a nice addition to alert the user when the water temperature had been successfully reached, now we just have to keep checking on it.

I expected this $40 + tax tea kettle to last fully in tact for much longer than it actually did, not just one month. We’ve been very careful to follow the manufacture’s instruction by: not filling above middle of the spout’s (internal) opening, using a medium or lower heat setting/flame, and not allowing the pot to remain on any heated source after it began to boil and whistled.

The printed information on the outside of the box indicates that the pot was manufactured in China.

I wanted a kettle that would last a long time and look good being left on the stove near my tea station, while not being ridiculously priced or have enamel that could chip. This kettle is perfect. As long as you properly fill to be below the spout opening inside the kettle, air flow will allow it to whistle.

It’s a soft whistle by design so if you want a loud one look at other kettles. I prefer this whistle because it’s loud enough to hear from the next room and is not “anxiety inducing”. Touch points stay cool.

I love this kettle, its design, its look, everything about it. This is my second one — not that the first one wore out. I simply got tired of it — it was the copper version. Do not buy this copper Chantal kettle — it very quickly turns a ghastly color & when you remove the tarnish it becomes more & more a ghastly color — it literally made my teeth hurt to look at it.

AND the ‘copper’ is a mere finish, the kettle is not actually copper — so with every cleaning some of the ‘copper’ would come off in patches. Thus I replaced it with this stainless steel version. So far not stains have appeared, no tarnishing.

And the dual-sounding whistle works — it had begun to be only a single-sound whistle on my old, copper version. This kettle looks great sitting out on a stove top.

After looking for the perfect tea kettle for way too long, and being disappointed after reading reviews or seeing a tea kettle in person, I was getting confused and obsessed. why couldn’t somebody make a perfect tea kettle? One that didn’t have seams to rust, poured nicely, whistled beautifully, and didn’t burn your hand.

I mean, it’s not exactly rocket science. By this point, I had even given up on how it looked. The Chantal Classic has thus far, after two weeks, made me happy on all counts. Initially I thought the whistle didn’t work, but after accidentally snapping the cap shut on the spout a bit too enthusiastically, it whistled the most charming tone.

sort of harmonic sounding, just like the description said. I would recommend it if for no other reason than it’s lovely whistle. BUT. no seams that I can see that will rust, the water hits where you aim it, and it doesn’t burn your hand if you use the cute little handle cover.

I just hope the whistler keeps doing it’s harmonic whistling and I’ll be happy.

I bought this tea kettle about a month ago, and have used it regularly since I received it. It is very aesthetically pleasing, has plenty of capacity, and works well with my induction stove. I really like the two-tone harmonica sound it makes when water comes to a boil.

It does have some room for improvement, though. The whistle cover could have a tighter fit — some steam escapes from around the edges, and the escaping steam can heat up the handle. Also, sometimes the whistle doesn’t produce full, clear clear sound when water is boiling due to the steam escaping from around the edges of the whistle cap.

The quality is poor. There are blemishes in the metal that look like they were painted over. Also the pot developed rust on the inside the first time I used it. I wish this was made by Lodge who produces much better quality cast iron.

The water boils fast and puts steam in the room, It looks nice on the stove. Thanks

This is great for on your wood burning stove, not only for making a good cup of tea, but it also puts moisture in the air, and saves on you turning on your stove eveytime you want coffee, tea or hot cocoa.

When you are not using your wood stove, then take this pot with you for camping. It lasts and lasts, and comes in handy over a fire.
