20 Best Table Saw Miter Sled (2023 Updated)

I was never impressed with the miter gauge that came with my table saw and also made a saw sled which was difficult to dial in for a perfect 90 degree cut. Because of these two things I had been eyeing Inca’s top of the line miter gauge.

When that miter gauge came attached to a zero clearance saw sled for the same price as just the miter gauge I decided to take the leap. I have not regretted the purchase. With the exception of getting the measuring tape on the miter arm dialed in accurately the sled went together easily.

Adjusting for a perfect 90 degree cut was simple and it stays accurate through other angles. I did drill a couple extra holes in the sled plates so I could hang it on the wall next to my saw when not in use.

It would be nice for Incra to include extra holes for this purpose in the future. I couldn’t be happier with this purchase and look forward to many years of use. If it ever needs readjusting it is a simple matter of loosening a couple of screws and getting it back in shape.

If I could give the sliding side of the table ten stars I would! It is impressively designed and constructed and a joy to use. My fear was that it would be too cumbersome to remove for rip cuts and then re-install but it isn’t even inconvenient.

The accuracy and repeatability are great! The fixed side of the table seems like it came from a different company. The aluminum miter bar sides are too rigid for the “wedges” to easily lock it in place.

As a result, by the time they are tight enough to lock, they can bind when trying to loosen them. One of the socket screws stripped the second time I used it. It still locks well enough with one screw.

A spare screw was supplied (now I know why) but I haven’t taken the time to drill out the damaged one ( which will probably damage the wedge. ). I installed it on a Unisaw so it’s a pretty standard slot size.

Too bad. so close to a perfect product. If it were my company, I would quickly correct the design out of embarrassment. Even so, it’s still safe and fun to use as is, and I highly recommend it!.

Just purchased the miter 5000 easy to set up and very accurate. Would recommend it to serious wood workers. I placed mine on the left side of the blade so that I can use the dado blade and fence stop together.

Worked great the only thing is they need to use thumb screws for fence extension instead of Allen head would be faster set up.

I’m struggling with how to review this fairly. The good: well-built, accurate scale with micro adjustments to make it perfect, comes with slippery Teflon-type tape to apply under the sled, includes a stop-block and a hold-down, and the sled is intentionally long so you can trim it to your exact length and have zero clearance.

The less good: I have a jobsite saw and the sled hangs off the left side significantly. I have to hold the left side so the sled remains parallel, or support it on a roller stand or similar – the sled is too big for a small saw.

To be fair, the instructions that come with the sled say “not recommended for contractor saws”. I didn’t see anything about this prior to purchase, however. And I plan to get a cabinet saw soon-ish so this will become more useful to me.

So- just know that this only uses the left miter slot, and you need a lot of real estate left of the blade. If you have that, it’s great.

The sled was well packaged, no missing parts or defects on the sled base. Assembly time was less than 20 minutes. To those considering purchasing this sled, it would be difficult to use with a portable (jobsite) contractor’s saw, as the sled needs adequate support left of the saw blade.

I use the sled on a cabinet style table saw (Powermatic) without any problem. Rockler’s on-line catalog alludes to this fact, but their hardcopy catalog does not. I have not tried using the sled for angled cuts, but I did use it for squaring cutting boards with excellent results.

I’m a woodworking hobbyist. I use the Incra Miter Express Miter Sled in conjunction with an Incra 1000HD Miter Gauge on my DeWalt DWE7480 jobsite saw on a regular basis. The size of the miter sled works really well with this jobsite saw.

I already liked using the miter gauge before buying the sled, but adding the miter sled has increased the ease of use. This replaced my not so good cross cut sled. I just add a sacrificial board whenever necessary.

Using the kerf between the sled and the fixed side has greatly increased the ease of setting alignment for a cut. The ending result is much more accurate. With the gauge set all the way back in the sled, the combo makes for a great cross cut sled.

Just add a sacrificial fence when needed. I usually store the combo as a single unit when not in use. I learned something new the other day that might help someone. Until recently all of my cuts on the sled have been made at 90 degrees.

When I spun the gauge to 45, it put the cut location much farther back behind the sled kerf and made it harder to align. It did not dawn on me until after I was done that all I needed to do was move the gauge up in the sled farther for easier cutting alignment.

Try it, you’ll see what I mean. Hopefully that little “DOH!” moment of mine will help someone. Bottom line, I love what both the Incra products have brought to the table. Don’t regret either purchase.

If I ever get to move up (LOL) to a contractor saw or even bigger, I would most definitely would not hesitate to go with the Express big brother. Having the Express reduces my need for a “bigger” saw.

This product has really high reviews. but after setting it up and using it for the past month I really am not sure what all the hype is. ITS A MITER SAW SLED. that is pretty expensive. So you would expect it to be phenomenal for how much you spend.

My biggest issue is that the miter slot adjustments are terrible. All that money you spend and the incra engineers can’t figure out a better way to get the sled miter slot adjustment better???? The actual miter gauge has a decent adjustment slot but the sled is terrible to adjust I frankly gave up.

Poor design and quality there. Another issue is how busy it is so many parts and pieces it’s way over the top for most users. If you think other wise and you want extra nonsense it maybe for you. In my humble and personal opinion for the amount of money i spent.

I should have just built a sled myself and ONLY got the miter gauge. The sled part not worth it.

Bought to replace original Rockwell table saw miter which is getting harder to rely on for accuracy. Incra is very accurate, I like it. It is heavy and cumbersome for work that doesn’t require the accuracy.

The fence stop to set cut length could be better, stiff to fold out of way, uses nylon screws to lock it in place which again are too tight in the threads to easily adjust. The scale on top of the fence is not useful to me, needs calibration every time the fence position is changed.

Good for making anything that needs very accurate angles, boxes, drawers, cabinets and inlays/patterns. As in another review, I applied a very small amount of silicone grease to the expansion washers used to adjust width of miter bar making adjustment easy.

I would buy again as other options also have their problems.

Have had this for almost a month now. And so far have not been able to use it. When it first arrived, Flip Shop Stop positioning rack were broken. Waited a week for Incra to send a replacement. After replacement, I found out the GlideLOCK Miter Bar was bowed in the middle (curved upwards), and twisted from end-to-end.

So, it is not fitting in the miter slot on the table saw correctly. Am currently waiting for that replacement as well. So far not impressed. Which is a shame. Because I also have the Incra Miter 5000 sled.

And I am very happy with that.

The fact that I had to cut my slide before I could install it is annoying. You made this for my X2 you need to make it fit without the tab needing to be cut. Granted, extremely minor detail but c’mon, you made this for X2.

Other than that, the price is somewhat fair considering all the markups on the way to my X2. When it is below $20 (look for sale) it is right where it should be. This is a $20 plastic slide that works perfectly with my X2.

It has a little play but it well within tolerance of what I expected for $20. 5 stars for meeting my expectations, even if you made me hurt it in order to install it (just a very small tab but still).

I really like the Crosscut Sled. After reading through many reviews on different sites, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to purchase the sled. Since I trust and know that Rockwell makes great tools, I decided to purchase it and I sure am glad I did.

It works perfectly. I was using it to cut trim for my kitchen and my cuts were perfectly straight. I even let my wife cut some of the trim and it was the first time she ever made a straight cross cut.

I couldn’t be happier with the Crosscut Sled. Some of the reviews stated that it doesn’t fit right on the BladeRunner X2, but, mine fits perfectly and there’s no play in the sled while doing the crosscut.

If you want perfectly straight Cross Cuts, I would definitely recommend the CrossCut Sled attachment for the BladeRunner X2. It’s well worth the money.

I own two BladeRunner X2s and purchased two of these Crosscut Sleds for them a little under a year and a half ago. The sleds make cross cutting much more accurate. They do have a little play in the tracks they slot into on the BladeRunner X2, but they do allow you to make good crosscuts.

Also they are designed so they stop at the end of the cut without the blade coming into contact with the sled, so you do not have to worry about cutting into the sled, which really speeds up the process if you have to make multiple crosscuts of the same size, because you do not have to slow down at the end of the cut.

After doing a lot of research, I found that there are several miters with very similar options ( BUT ) Inca went a step further than the others by incorporating a better bracket to attach the fence. After I set the 90 degree adjustment, I checked and the 22.

5 and 45 degrees are smack on. I’m working with a job site table saw so the table isn’t that big. There isn’t much room on the infeed side of the table. This is where I ran into a minor issue with this miter.

After doing more digging, I found all the miters suffer from the same issue. There are some protrusions on the bottom of the miter plate that catch on the edge of the saw table if your trying to work a larger peace of material.

This is not an issue for me but I could lead to an injury if one were not paying attention. I have plans to build a mobile work bench and incorporate my saw into that bench. That will solve this issue for me.

All in all, this is a very good miter and I will keep it in my shop to use when I’m cutting frames etc. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a new miter. Thank You.

I’ve had an Incra V27 for about 15 years, which I use on my Bosch table saw. The bar can be precisely adjusted to the width of the table slot, whereas the Bosch original was just a loose fit. I recently got a Grizzly bandsaw, and by luck, its miter slot is even smaller.

The Incra did not fit (without readjusting). So, I purchased a second Incra V27 and I’ve set it up just for the bandsaw. Nice, smooth fit. My only gripe is that when adjusting the nylon expansion washers, it takes a HUGE effort to turn the Allen key.

I’m afraid I might break off the key. So far, so good.

I recently bought a Bosch GTS1031 job site table saw. I knew that the miter gauge that came with the saw was junk and I would need to replace it before using the saw for any kind of work requiring accurate cuts.

This problem is not just with Bosch. Most manufactures of low to medium priced table saws equip their saws with similar quality miter gauges. I began searching for suitable replacement options but kept coming back to Incra.

However, I was concerned by some reviewers who spoke of problems with adjusting the miter bar to fit the miter channel of their table saws. These problems were directed at the torque required to compress the disks that provide zero-side play sliding fit of the bar in the channel.

Some reviewers reported actually damaging the fasteners because of the excessive torque required to expand the disks. One even mentioned the need to heat the adjustment hex screw with a hair dryer in order to properly expand the disks.

I am sure these reviews were written by fully knowledgeable individuals who encountered problems with their Incra gauges. I just wanted to find out if this problem was encountered frequently. While most reviews did not mention difficulty in this regard, I was concerned enough to delay purchasing the Incra and look to other options.

I finally decided to visit Rockler and find out if there was an inherent problem associated with tightening down the disks. This was an enlightening experience. The Rockler salesman demonstrated how to make the adjustments and assured me I would not have a problem.

I took his advice and purchased the V27. For me, installing the miter gauge was a five minute procedure. The instructions were extremely clear, and I experienced no problems at all with tightening down the adjusting hex screws.

It took a moderate amount of torque, but certainly nothing anywhere serious enough to result in a stripping of the hex screws or damaging the disks themselves. As a side note, if you do have trouble holding and turning the hex key, I would suggest using a small handled, 3/32 inch hex screwdriver instead of the provided hex key only because it is more comfortable.

Just be careful not to apply too much force. Once I adjusted the bar to fit the channel, squaring of the miter face plate to the saw blade was a snap. I cannot say enough good things about the Incra V27 gauge.

It is nice and heavy like miter gauges were in the good old days. It is extremely accurate, easy, and comfortable to use. I would certainly recommend it to any person as a replacement for the plastic gauge that comes with many under $700.

00 bench saws as well as other shop tools such as routers, band saws, and belt sanders. The V27 is a work of art. I do not believe you will be unhappy provided your miter channel is the standard 3/4 inch wide by 3/8 inch deep.

If you still have questions, just visit your local Rockler store and I am sure a friendly and knowledgeable salesperson will give you a in-depth demonstration. And after purchasing one of the several different Incra miter gauge models Rockler has in stock, you can return home and hang the old plastic miter gauge from the ceiling of your shop.

While using your new Incra, the plastic gauge will hang there, slowly turning, serving as a constant reminder that top quality tools are still manufactured in the USA.

I don’t need to use a miter gauge too often on a table saw, so I didn’t want to spend umpteen bucks for an over-designed product. I got this for less than half the price of other brands, and I feel it has just as much quality.

It feels solid and well built It came already dialed in (on the angles) It has several, solid stop points that are easy to adjust to Ergonomic handle The bar can easily be adjusted to fit snugly in the miter slots of the saw (3 setscrews) There is plenty of room to add on bells and whistles (squeeze handle, longer fence, etc.

) Only negative would be the base of the product. It does feel funny sliding metal over metal, as the base is the bare exposed metal. It does not, however, seem to scratch the cast-iron surface of my table saw.

I feel like I got an incredible deal on this miter gauge at sixty bucks. I’m not sure how much they typically sale for.

This is not one of those high tech miter gauges such as an Incra, power pro or rockler to name a few. However,this miter gauge is very well made. The preset indexing is spot on, the handle is heavy duty, the fit on my dewalt table saw is better than the original miter gauge, the predrilled holes for attaching auxiliary fences is a nice feature.

It’s a good value for the money, so much so I purchaced another one after using the first time.

I bought this for my Bosch portable table saw. The Bosch unit only had a six inch tongue, a plastic handle, no presets, and no way to adjust for slack in the table groove. The Delta unit has a 13. 5 inch tongue with Allen screws to take up in slop in the slide channel, a large metal-cored knob and presets for all the common angles.

It is also pre-drilled for face plate extensions, stops, and clamps. Now i don’t have an excuse for making anything less than perfect cuts.

Bought them so I didn’t have to mess with wood sizing. After attaching I had a hard time getting them to align sled correctly. After a frustrating 1/2 day I finally notice that one of the miter bars was twisted.

Not very happy since I paid a good price for it. Verify your product before you create anything with it. otherwise I would have given it a minimum 4-5 star.

When I saw the Crosscut Station announced I thought, this is perfect, I can use the circular saw I already own and dial in a more precise cut without having to purchase a miter saw. I am working with limited space, so this seemed ideal.

I researched the product before I purchased it, the FAQ mentions it can be used with 5 1/2″ to 7 1/4″ circular saw, but it it was very difficult to find the information where it states that your saw needs to have a 2″ cutting depth.

I found that information out after purchasing and receiving the product. My circular saw is a 5 1/2″ blade but only cuts a bit deeper than 1 1/2″, so I had to purchase an additional saw with a larger blade diameter to be able to use the station.

Which is bittersweet, new tool, great, but now I am right around the price it would have cost to purchase a Miter Saw. The new saw I purchased does not have a full rectangular plate, it has a small 45 degree relief at the rear of the plate.

When making a cut you have to put pressure on the front of the saw and not be too dependent on the guides to assist the balance of the saw, if I do not apply that pressure the saw wants to rock a bit and gives you less than precise cuts.

Another negative to applying that pressure on the guides is that it causes the adjustable slide on the station to flex a bit adding to the inaccuracy. I am positive a different saw with a full rectangular plate would yield a much better end result and user-experience and hopefully someone reading this will use this advice and save them the frustration I have experienced.

I now own a new larger saw, which is plus and nice to have. The Crosscut Station, though, not too sure how much use it will actually see. I am wishing I would have just purchased a low end miter saw for ease of use and consistency.

I will continue to use a speed square for a more precise cut with the circular saw and eventually I will give the Portable Crosscut I purchased a shot once I cool off over this bummer of a purchase. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Kreg products! I hype my Pocket-hole jig, Rip-cut & Straight Edge Guide to any one who will listen, but the Crosscut Station has been a sequence of unfortunate misses.

Let me start by saying that I really like Kreg products, and I love their innovation. I don’t have the space for a table saw and can’t truly justify purchasing a miter saw. So, when I saw this, I ran out to buy it immediately.

It seemed like the answer to many of my problems at an affordable price. Also, I cannot complain about it being made of plastic, because it is relatively cheap. So, that is to be expected, and my review is focused on the function farther than the construction/durability.

THE MAIN ISSUE: Because of the design, if the holes for the fixed track are off by so much as a millimeter, it becomes IMPOSSIBLE to make a truly square cut. So, you end up with an 89 degree or a 91 degree angle.

So, are your cuts repeatable? Yes! Are you going to get a nice clean joint? Nope! Second Issue: The miter guide has 2 knobs. However, if EITHER ONE is tightened you cannot slide it up/down the track.

Moreover, there are no positive stops. So, you have to eyeball it’s alignment against an etched line and hope that it stays true as you tighten the wing-nuts. Again, if your goal is to get a nice clean joint (i.

e. a picture frame with 45 degree corners) it just won’t happen. Third issue: Once you make the kerf cut (cut through the fence and base) there is no way to adjust it without defeating the main purpose of the Crosscut Station.

Any adjustment results is a wider kerf cut, taking away your ability to use it as a guide. FINAL VERDICT: This is a wonderful idea, that was rushed to market. It has great potential if Kreg gives you something to ensure that it is truly square.

They need to change up the miter guide so it can be set and moved/removed without losing the setting. Perhaps, sell the guide separately but make it a good one. If your goal is to cut smaller pieces with a circular saw, and you’re not worried about being off by one or two degrees, then it’s great.

Otherwise, you’re throwing away $60.

it is very disappointing form Kreg. Usually good quality but not this one. I purchased the 4FT version. This is the second unit. I returned the first one as the edges was not flush and the circular saw stuck when it gets the middle of the Guide where the two parts attached.

The second unit has the same problem but in just one edge. Also, after pulling the handle to hold the Guide tightly on it place the opposite side where the spring is located moving side to side, and it prevent straight cut.

I am really disappointed as I pay for something to help and improve my work quality, however, I have to spend a lot of time to find out what is wrong and every time go to the store that I have purchased and explain why I need to exchange the product.

I really feel bad and have no time to go to the store again and explain what is wrong again. I think Kreg is missing a good quality control.

I was attempting to build a crosscut sled from scrap while waiting for a new saw blade to be delivered. Since I couldn’t rip my own miter guides until my new blade arrived, I bought these Zeroplay guides while at my local Rockler store.

Despite adjusting them every possible way for the entire day, they would either bind up somewhere along the miter track or wiggle around because of slop. I was making micro adjustments and could not for the life of me get them to work.

So much time wasted only to find out after using my calipers that the tolerances in the plastic guides were way off from end to end. No matter how they’re adjusted one end is either slightly flared or tapered, and therefore it’s impossible to get them to glide smoothly in the miter track.

This is a joke of a product. It wasted my day and is $35 flushed down the toilet.

I am a “mature” woodworking rookie and bought the Zeroplay system on a whim to enter and explore the world of precision woodwork rather than construction quality. The Miter Bars and Stops come with complete and easy to read instructions that make their use for both fixed and temporary jigs Rookie-understandable.

They also have enough adjustments to make them easily usable on most of my shop equipment. My first application was to create a test and alignment sled for my dial indicator to check for table saw blade square.

I was pleasantly surprised with the ease of the operation and have decided to keep this test jig in tact. As I said, I am a mature rookie and have just started to explore the use of the bars for jigs, but from the initial jig the opportunities seem to be endless, I can see the purchase of several more sets of Miter Bars from Zeroplay in the future.

Useful in that they do set up to guide your sled with good precision, but wish they were available in longer lengths for bigger sleds. Also wonder how the composite material will wear over time as compared to metal guide bars.

Out of the box it was perfectly square to the blade. However, square to the table is another story. As long as you don’t tighten down the miter gauge knob the fence is square to the table. As soon as you start tightening it down the top of the fence will start pulling back toward you and go out of square.

I encourage everyone to check yours because it appears to be a design flaw. If you look at the pivot point there’s a nylon washer between the miter gauge and miter bar. However, if you look back at the knob and pin area there is nothing there.

So when you tighten the knob it throws the fence out of square. I fixed this by place a piece of glide tape between the miter gauge and the aluminum miter bar in this area. This system is far from being precise and should not be advertised as such until such time when Kreg addresses this issue.

The unit I received was not square when using the brass locator pin. Kreg customer service informed me that the brass locating pin cannot not be relied on for accuracy due to variances in manufacturing.

Since the miter gauge cannot be adjusted, this makes the quick stops nearly worthless for anything other than rough carpentry. If you’re going to spend $150 on a miter gauge buy one that can be adjusted.

I like Kreg products but this one makes me wonder how it ever got out of product design. Who makes a “precision” tool that is marketed as “perfect right out of the box” that isn’t always perfect because it’s not actually precision made and can’t be adjusted?.

Installs easily, remains relatively straight after two months of use. The issues experienced after loosening the expansion nuts following the initial setup renders these a one-time, one-jig setup. If you’re looking to possibly use these across multiple jigs and platforms (e.

g. multiple tablesaws/routers), then you’re better off buying more or simply making your own hardwood slides. As a dedicated jig set (you should definitely purchase two), they work well enough, although they are priced relatively high for the grade of aluminum you receive.

That said, I’ve been able to maintain my crosscut sled runout at less than 0. 0011” for two months of moderate use (full kitchen remodel). Full Disclosure: I am not a full-time woodworker, simply a humble engineer with a habit of making sawdust.

These worked fine. I was a bit disappointed in the set-up. Based on my experience – you have to ‘break’ the adjusters free. When you first start turning the little allen screws to adjust to fit – they kind of snap and break free – once that happens you get some ability to tighten (or loosen) the fit.

The allen screws are plastic – which doesn’t inspire confidence, but all that being said: I have a good tight fit and the sled I made works as one would wish.

I was not happy with the way it attached. I do no like having to put bolts all the way through the board. Strews from bottom would have been better.

This is a nice little sled and does what it’s supposed to do. There is a small snag here, however. The guide track that is supposed to slide along your table saw track has 4 small, plastic, set screws that are supposed to be adjusted to take up any slack in that fitting.

These screws are too loose and will not hold any setting. A trip to the hardware store proved that ANY set screw that you try, imperial or metric, will be too loose. So, get yourself a few 1/2 long set screws made from metal and put some Teflon tape around them.

It will snug them up just fine. You want set screws that are longer than the originals in order for your Teflon tape to have something to grab. The closest metric screw will be the M6 with a 1. 0 thread.

You also don’t really need all four screws. Use one at each end of the guide and you should be good. If you’re obsessive compulsive…replace all four. Even though this sled feels like a toy it is NOT! You still have a spinning wheel of death to keep your eye on when you finish that cut!.

HORRIBLE! The sled was delivered in the manufactures box. A ups label stuck to the outside. The box showed no sign of damage. However, the sled was a different story. It looked like someone drop kicked it and slammed it against the floor.

All of the dado corners were blown out and the screws stripped. The whole sled was falling apart and unusable. What a great idea, but this sled is constructed so poorly. I have no faith that this sled would hold up to even light use.

Really cheap materials. I could have made a sled in the amount of time spent on purchasing and returning. Multiple emails requesting photos of the damage. I’m pretty sure that if my sled showed up in this condition, then I can’t be the only one.

I would NOT recommend this sled. Unfortunately, this purchase has prevented me from purchasing additional Rockler items. Don’t waste your time.

I was really looking forward to it, but then I was totally disappointed. Not because it’s a such small size Sled, also you need to do most assemble yourself. I understand if it’s huge, it’s hard to ship and you need to put them together, but it’s very tiny and why can’t them put all together for you? I am not try to buy an ikea table.

Second, it’s missing a safety concerned clip which hold the small wood piece. They want you to pay extra to order it which means without it, it can be dangerous to operate this sled. This is not included and they didn’t mentioned you need to buy when you order it, so you need to pay extra shipping and buy again.

so without it it’s piece of junk. Totally disappointing and it’s still sitting in the box.

I used the Micro Jig Zero Plan Guide Bar System to make a sliding cutting sled for my table saw. It worked wonderfully! I can adjust the width of the plastic guide bar with the hex key and not worry about seasonal expansion and contraction of natural wood.

I highly recommend the V-27. I have two of them now. The first one I bought many years ago is now dedicated to my box joint jig. The V-27 is easy to align to either side of the blade and retains the setting.

Very useful on table saw, band saw and router table.
