20 Best Synthetic Oil For 5.7 Hemi (2023 Updated)

What can I say…… I’ve been using Mobil synthetic oil for over 40 Years (!) and have had nothing but success with it. This new Extended Performance version allows me to go up to 20,000 miles or One year on a single oil change (Follow your manufacturers recommended oil change schedule listed in the owners manual).

Imagine only having to have your oil changed once a year instead of the normal 3 or 4 times a year! Not only will you like the convenience of a yearly oil change, you’ll probably like what it does for your engine.

This oil will not only save you money on gas because of the synthetic properties, but it will also clean up any left over sludge and varnish from the previous oil changes. It’s a win-win! Don’t over think this.

It’s a no brained. Go out and pick some up today. What have you got to lose!.

Background: In 2012, bought my Ford Edge Limited V6 with 32,000 miles on it. Decided to try Mobile 1 5W20 Synthetic. Started with their 10,000 mile, went to their 15,000 mile, now use 20,000 mile EP oil and have 210,000 miles on the car.

The way I rate oil is by my car’s oil sensor which tells me when I am down to 5% oil life, then I change it. Used to drive an average about 30,000 miles per year, now 12-15,000 miles. Oil: With 10,000 mile oil, I got between 8-10,000 miles depending on city or highway miles With 15,000, I get between 12-13,000 miles With 20,000, 15-17,000 miles I tried Gastrol Edge 20,000 mile oil, when Mobil’s EP was selling for $44 a jug ( I use 6qts/oil change) – only got about 10,000 miles.

Switched back to Mobil 15,000 mile oil, until prices at Walmart for ET oil changed to about $3 more – Now use ET! Oil Filters: Originally, used XG 10,000 & 15,000 filters, Walmart started carrying the Mobil 1 filters.

Changed to Mobile 1 and got an additional 1-1. 5k miles/oil change. Am now over 70, pay an additional $13,00 to have someone else change and dispose of the oil, but during this entire time have NEVER had an engine-related failure.

Just bought a 2020 Ford Edge (attention span isn’t what I once had and felt I needed the new safety features). My old Ford will probably go to a family member or someone in need of reliable transportation.

Bottom line: As long as the price isn’t ridiculous, I will stick with Mobil 1 – nothing I have tried matches their performance.

I drive a 2002 F150 5. 4 first generation Triton V8 with 228000 miles. Bought it used with 150000 miles on her. Noticed they were using 5w-30. Changed over to recommended 5w-20. After the second oil change noticed a considerable smoother running engine as well as better fuel mileage.

Highly recommend this oil for any engine.

I use this oil as my summer oil and alternate between the 5w50 and the 0w40 for Summer and Winter respectively. Both are Porsche A40 approved oils and I like the extra protection for the summer months and when I go to the track.

The winters are pretty mild here in NC so I will probably wind up just using the 5W50 year round once I deplete my current supply of 0w40. The 5W50 is hard to find and NAPA Auto Parts is about the only place I can get it on fairly short notice.

I just call ahead and they get it in for me. I only wish this oil came in the convenient 5qt jugs here in the US.

Mobil 1 0w20 is the best of the best lubrication available. I use it in my Toyota and Nissan. After 150,000 miles they still run like new. Easy starts in the cold weather.

My comments is not on the product BUT the delivery. There was a leak in one of the plastic container. You can see the stain on the brown box before opening. They must know because they place plastic liner to contain the leak; also the invoice, oil stained, in the box has somebody’s name and different price.

Since there was still good amount oil left I choose not to return. Too messy. Took pictures of the stained box. Should have replaced the leaking container.

I’ve got a ’91 Nissan Pathfinder with 305,000 miles on it and this is what I use. She’s still running the same as ever, so this stuff seems okay to me! Also, this oil was recommended to me by a mechanic that I truly trust (I know everyone says this), but he had nothing to gain being retired and living 4 states away from me.

I also use it in my BMW with 235,000 miles.

Harley Owner. I have been running only Mobil1 V-twin for over 18 years. I am beyond pleased. I tried the amsoil but didn’t like the way it shifted and my trans plug was “hairy” at the next oil change indicating too much wear.

I switched to Mobil1 and everything is great. After using only Mobil1 in my 2008 Ultra classic, I wanted more power so I modified the heads and put on new cylinders. At 60,000 miles the internals looked brand new.

YOU COULD EVEN STILL SEE THE FACTORY CROSSHATCH ON THE CILYNDER WALLS where the piston went up and down. The engine was incredibly clean and free from any wear. It shocked me. I use it in all 3 holes and the engine runs cool and quiet, the tranny shifts perfectly, and the clutch works great.

I won’t use anything else. There are never any metal shavings on the magnetic drain plugs, as with other oils. I took that bike to 90,000 miles before I traded it.

My auto mechanic suggested I use Mobile 1 synthetic oil, 20W-50, in my bike when I complained at how expensive Amsoil was. He told me Mobile 1 was at least as good if not better. I had trouble finding it which is why I ordered it on line.

That worked out great. Site was easy to use. Product was delivered to my door within 4 days and they notified me that it had been delivered!.

I have been buying his oil for a long time never paying much attention to rebates. I purchase 10 quarts and submitted the rebate on line. To my surprise. It was refused as non participating vendor. It was Amazon for Pete sake.

How can they not be a participating vendor. Anyways I like this oil because I feel good using a Exxon product. My daughters Subaru Outback likes it because it burns less between oil changes. A few dollars more, sure but if I bring it to jiffy lube or one of the other retailers.

Who is to know what they use. Oil consumption says it all for me.

The tests dont prove the longevity and cleaning aspects of engine oilsMy review:I went on this quest on YouTube and forums online to find the best synthetic 5W30 for my Tacoma. I checked out Home Deliveries USA Basics and Shell Rotella as well as this Mobil 1 and Supertech.

All are great oils, I found that the Shell oil had slightly miniscule more harmful metals than Mobil 1 but less than Home Deliveries USA oil. I also learned these companies will take out or add different things to have the SN plus badge which may take away from the longevity of the lubricating or cleaning qualities.

Home Deliveries USA doesnt have a write up for their oil like most other companies including Wal-Mart which is supposed to be the same Warren oil. For that simple fact I took it out of my choices. Home Deliveries USA and Wal-Mart are known to find the cheaper oils to resell and may end up changing in the future from Warren.

Mobil 1 is a trusted name and has all the requirements of a synthetic oil anyone should need. I have not experienced burning or loss of oil in either of my vehicles, one of which has 270,000 miles on it.

I dont run my oil 10 or 20,000 miles or whatever people are doing lately. I change my oil between 3 and 5000 miles which I know for certain is good and healthy maintenance to keep my engine running clean and strong.

I recommend that for everyone regardless of what these companies are claiming. I trust myself and my maintenance schedule. None of these companies are going to replace my engine if what they are claiming is false.

Mobil 1 is the oil Toyota uses from the factory and this along with my small research is enough for me.

IšverstiShow in original language1998 Tacoma, I used to drive this truck for 250miles/day, Using Castrol-GTX/3000miles. Soon as it reached 1500miles, gpm went from 20 to 17. I tried every things that people recommended on the internet to improve gpm.

sparkplug changed every 25k-30kmiles(do not use Bosh Platinum, just OEM Nippon Denso plug). Nothing worked. Soon as I switched over to Mobil1 Sync with OEM oil filter. My truck drove better, smoother, quieter and gpm remain @20gpm until the next oil changed which is 10Kmiles.

You can see the Viscosity of the oil remain the same, just darker. So I switched all my whole family vehicles(5 Toyotas, sedan-truck-van-SUV) to used this type of oil since 2000. Since I maintenance all vehicles myself, this 10kmiles oil change save me a lots of times and $$$$.

Let me tell you an impressive story about this oil. I gave my son the truck for his college years, in 4year. When the truck did not run(because of the MAF sensor clogged), he called me to come checked the truck, there was no oil on the dipstick.

DRIED!!!! Soon as I cleaned the MAF, I cranked the engine, it started right away. there is no issue with the engine. I still driving it now. over 200kmiles/24yrs still running like new. why buy new vehicles since mine run and looks like new plus paid off.

Over time traditional oils degrade O rings and other rubberized or plastic components that they come in contact with. Not to mention the caustic cancer causing risks associated with these standard oils when they come in contact with you skin.

And after personally experiencing some valve cover gasket and engine seals starting to seep and slowly drip oil it was suggested I switch over to a full synthetic or blend to combat this issue. I think that was the smartest thing I could’ve done to remedy some of the problems related to conventional oil! I now own a pickup truck and I will only use synthetic oil in it as well as any other vehicle I own throughout my life.

The extra cost of synthetic far outweighs the “cost” of conventional oils. When you look at long term effects and damage caused by regular crude oil vs the synthetics with their longer time between oil changes and their durability, the choice should be a no-brainer.

Started using Mobile 1 in a new 2005 CRV at the first oil change. Changed the oil and filter ever year. Sometimes with 8K on the oil. Sometimes 12K. I did the 100K plug change and checked the valve lash.

The plugs could probably last 200K. What was very impressive was the valve lash was within 0. 001 of being in tolerance. The cam chain guides had no wear and timing chain marks were dead on. The inside of the valve cover was clean and looked new other then some slight yellow heat stains.

Beyond belief. Been doing all my own work since the 60s. I know what is impressive.

Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 5W20 until 75,000 miles then Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 5W30. My wife’s 2016 KIA SOUL would crank and run with no issues right up until someone hit her from behind on the Interstate and totaled her car.

She was going about 55 mph and they were going at least 80 to 100 mph. The care was folded under, but the engine was running like normal while the Highway Patrol had to pry her out of the car and the Tow Truck guy had to open the hood and disable it to get the engine to stop running.

My wife suffered no injuries. We went and purchased a new KIA SPORTAGE and are using Mobil 1 Full Synthetic Oil in it. Who ever buys that car for the engine is getting a solid KIA SOUL engine. At 200,000 miles we started using Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 20,000 mile oil.

That Soul would crank and start like a new car. We have a 2001 Ford F-250 V-10 Triton Crew Cab and 2002 Ford F-250 5. 4L Crew Cab 4X4 and they both are above 200,000 miles and we run Mobil 1 Full Synthetic 20,000 mile oil in them.

The 0W-20 oil I use in both a naturally aspirated four cylinder and a turbocharged four cylinder engines. The manufacturer recommends the 0W-20 synthetic motor oil. At over 120,000 miles, the naturally aspirated four cylinder engine burns NO oil and remains at above the “add” mark for over 7,500 miles.

The turbo four has less than 50,000 miles and does not burn oil. the average MPG is above the manuracturer’s claim. cannot recommend highly enough,.

I have always use Mobil1 Synthetic oil in all my Toyota s. I decided to try their Extended Performance. I feel Mobil 1 provides the best protection for my cars. Mobil1 extended performance days the oil will last up to 15k, however I would never leave any oil in a vehicle for that long.

I did notice a very smooth tuning truck after installing this oil and will continue to use it in the future. Tim.

I put this in my jeep which has about 70,000 miles on it at this point. To see the motor sounds smoother would be an understatement, I’m very sensitive to engines and I noticed a dramatic difference in performance.

I had not seen an oil have this kind of impact on any motor that was in good shape to begin with anyway. I highly recommend the oil and now I know what it means when someone says they’ve use Mobile One since the first oil change on the car.

I worked for Mobil and ExxonMobil in their Lubricants and Lubrication Sciences RD for 22 of my 41 years in this line of work. Mobil always had a no compromise attitude about MOBIL 1 engine oils. This one is their Premier Product in the MOBIL 1 engine oil line – you can be guaranteed it is great ! ! !I witnessed two BMW 318i vehicles run on Mobil 1 for over 1 million miles back during the 1990s and when the engines were torn down afterwards, the lubricated parts all appeared actually like brand new – still had the original machining marks ! ! ! Now that is great testament to a great engine oil ! ! !.

I only use the top 4 brands now, Mobil 1, Pennzoil Platinum, Castrol Edge and Valvoline. Been very impressed with all of these full synthetic oils after using many different brands in 4 vehicles over the yearsI change my oil at 10k mile intervals.

OEM oil from the dealer and other name brand drained out so black light wouldnt pass thru it. The top oils I mentioned still have transparency at drain after 10k milesI even use this in my old 2000 truck with 206k miles.

I get better mpg when using the top brands like this.

IšverstiShow in original languageI have used MOBIL 1 SYNTHETIC in all my Porsches (street and track) since the 80’s, but that is another story. This story is about a lawn mower which I bought new and ran “wide open” as a residential “bush hog” for 32 years.

I changed the oil every spring with MOBIL 1 SYNTHETIC and noticed each year the oil while dirty (because of the atrocious operating environment) the engine used no oil and performed flawlessly. I became fascinated at about 20 years when I realized this lawnmower was falling apart in every way, wheels, carb, housing sheet metal, studs and bolts backing out of the engine, it was a complete wreck EXCEPT: it burned no oil and suffered no mechanical failures after running for decades and thousands of hours wide open (wished I had a HOBBS).

To say the least, I loved this mower, my friends and neighbors howled at my eccentricity, but I paid them no mind, I know and understand true devotion, PLUS I had an ongoing SCIENCE PROJECT which I was going to push (literally and figuratively) to its conclusion.

At 30 years the mower deck was “fully ventilated” and was probably dangerous, it needed its third set of wheels and the whole affair was just simply “string and bailing wire”. None the less, I was not giving up on “The Red Devil”.

I had owned this mower half my life and I was beginning to wonder who was going to be the last one running. I had hoped to open the engine one day and examine the wear index. However, at 32 years my better half insisted that “The Red Devil” had to go.

I presented it to a young ARMY vet (who had admired it from afar) with the understanding that he would only use MOBIL-1 SYN and contact me IF the engine ever needed to be taken down as I wished to see the mysteries within.

In great solemnity he assured me he would honor the terms and nervously loaded The Red Devil it into his truck. I take great comfort in knowing that if there is a heaven for lawn mower engines, “The red devil” is holding court! I concluded years ago that The Red Devil’s longevity was 100% due to MOBIL-1 SYNTHETIC.

To this day, I can not hear a mower run without harking back to all the good times with The Red Devil. In spite of all my pleas, my attorneys say I do not have a case against MOBIL and have suggested therapy.

IšverstiShow in original languageI always use Mobile 1 10,000 mile oil. I use it on the lawn equipment, wood chipper,and snowblower too. For my car its lasts about 8,000 before I change it. When I change it it is very dirty so maybe I shod do it sooner but I wait for 8000.

On the pickup, milage is low so I leave the oil for 1 year all the time. Done this on 4 cars over the past 20 years wirh no problems.

thats saying something. i also use mobil 1 in all my personal trucks, small engines, bikes everything! it hasnt let me down yet in fact when u tear somethin down after running mobil 1 its amazing how little wear there is ,metal against metal should just eat itself alive.

n not only does it not do that but u cant even tell they were mating surfaces half the time. the only thing i like more than mobil 1 oil is lucas oil stabilizer, that stuffs almost cheating its also a whole different class tho so no disrespect to mobil.

I guarantee that if i am blindfolded, i could correctly guess which is this oil vs mobil one, castrol edge, or others. I would get the guess correct every time. Rubbing between thumb and index finger, you can feel the distinct slickness, like teflon.

I have seen my temperature gauge go down, and fuel milage increase. I think mobil one is just fed from the popular bandwagon, people just following the crowd without no independent thought. I can get mobil one cheaper than this, yet i choose super synthetic.

I have that much faith in it. This oil is OFTEN MIS-CALLED mobil one in reviews. IT IS NOT mobil one.

I bought my 2010 Dodge Ram cheap with 250,000 believing if I take care of it it would last a lot longer since the previous owner used Mobil oil as well. After running Mobil 1 synthetic a few months I realized it seemed to be loosing a quart every 3,000 miles though my engine ran well.

Someone online said they had the same issue and got rid of it using Valvoline synthetic. Well lets just say Valvoline caused a very faint ticking to get worse. I switched back to Mobil Super synthetic quickly and things quieted right down.

The Mobil 1 rep told me I should use Mobil Super synthetic instead of Mobil 1 synthetic since it is Chrysler approved and Mobil 1 isn’t for Chrysler vehicles after 2008 and he thought it would take care of the oil loss issue.

I haven’t used it long enough to be sure about that but I will write a new review in a few months to report on that. For now I am just glad my engine is running almost like new with just a very faint ticking that hopefully keeps getting better in time.

I won’t switch oils again.

Mobil Super Synthetic 5w30 has run very well in my Nissan Altima 3. 5. These motors are known to be hard on motor oil due to shearing and high temperature. I’ve been very pleased with how well this oil has held up.

Mobil Super Synthetic is a group 3 synthetic that is a good deal for the money. It has a good amount of molybdenum , boron and calcium. The boron and calcium help keep the motor clean. The molybdenum is a anti friction agent that helps reduce wear on metal parts.

When found in sale it can be bought for around $21 for 5 quarts. This is a heck of a deal for a good motor oil that performs very well. It is obviously Dexos approved which is a good specification being met.

I would recommend this oil for anyone who wants a very good oil for 5k to 6k mile change intervals.

My girlfriend at the time had a Hyundai Sonata and was long overdue for an oil change. This oil along with the ExxonMobil brand gasoline is the only motor oil/ gas that goes into the motor. As a result I’ve noticed slight gains in the maintenance time-frames; I’ve also seen a dramatic difference in how the motor idles and performs under high pressure and excessive use.

As a Dasher this is the only oil I trust to keep me in the race!.

I’ve been using royal purple for a while. Just did an oil change at 7500kms to get ready for camping season and the old oil looked brand new. It didn’t have the purple colour but had a nice amber colour, I can’t believe how well this oil holds up.

I am very particular about doing oil changes 5-7500kms because it’s cheap, easy maintenance. This oil can probably go triple that number but to each his own. PS, anyone stating this oil improves gas mileage is wrong.

They either needed an oil change BADLY or they were using the incorrect grade. Motor oil alone cannot increase fuel economy as it has nothing to do with air/fuel mixture in a 4 stroke fuel injected engine.

I’ve used mobile 1 since I can remember. My Z just turned 202k. Been running mobil 1 in it since I purchased it with 25k on it. I’m very tentative about how I change oil as well, I drain, refill with new, run it for a few minutes to clean out what’s still in the cooler, block & lines etc, because I just don’t believe in dropping the plug and draining what’s in the pan.

Then after it’s run with the new oil I drain it and use compressed air thru the oil filter Orpheus to completely rid every drop of oil remaining in the system. People poke fun and say I’m crazy, but they then wonder why my vehicles last ridiculously amounts of mileage never requiring repairs.

I’ve done this with all my vehicles and it’s proof that it works, and Mobile 1 products are what they say they are. Ive disassembled engines after running mobile 1 products and am always amazed how clean they appear internally.

Laugh all u want about my method, but my odometer always tells the tale and dispells the haters. Mobil 1 products are the ONLY products I will ever use in my vehicles, hands down no question.

I would say this is the best oil out there in the market. It keeps your engine quiet & sometimes you can’t even tell you car running. It also gives you better gas mileage & horsepower. Car runs very smooth & it doesn’t burn oil at all.

I didn’t know oil makes that much difference. I will continue to use this oils & I will order this from summit racing cause they have the best price & fast delivery.

I was skeptical about all the claims of smoother engine and better acceleration from an oil but I was wrong. I switched my 2000 4runner 3. 4 v6 with 192,000 miles over to royal purple hmx about 10 months ago and I was completely amazed at the difference.

Smoother runner, quicker acceleration and extended drain intervals to boot. It feels lIke it picked up about 10 to 15 hp in performance due to the quicker acceleration. I can’t imagine ever running any things else in it from now on.

My 2015 KIA is leaking oil. Mechanic thinks it is oil pan gasket leak. Until he can get my car in shop for total diagnostics I am going through oil. And the wonderful Woman at Auto Zone applied my points so I could get the 5 quart this time at a better price.

I appreciate that she was looking out for me and with points it cost less than 3 individual quarts I bought previously. Nice to gain points as part of their rewards for shopping with them! Service at Milwaukie store was excellent.

(Part 2: P. S. I went back for an air filter and the young man behind the counter was rude when informing they don’t carry air filters at all so I then switchec back to O’Reily’s which is on same street and they not only sold me the air filter I needed but installed it too.

) Woman at Auto Zone gave better service than the young cocky male did. Mentioning this cuz it matters who waits on you!!!.

I’m dating myself a bit here, but I remember when Mobil 1 synthetic first went on the market. It was the motor oil of choice for some high end performance cars, so for me who had a lower-end vehicle it gave me at least something in common with the guys running around with nicer cars than mine.

I figured since I was changing the oil myself and saving on labor it was worth the extra cost for the premium oil, so I have used it almost exclusively in all my vehicles for years. From my 1968 Dodge to my 2015 Jeep, Even for my 1999 Suburban with the 454, which I bought used so can’t be sure how it was maintained before I had it, I really believe it protects the engine better and extends its life.

I’ve never had an internal engine problem with a car since I’ve used this oil, and I drive my cars fairly aggressively. Since I do my own oil changes, it gives me a little peace of mind if I can’t find the time to do the work and have to go beyond the recommended mileage interval for an oil change (or the oil life per the monitoring system in my newer cars).

My brother does the same thing in his cars, and has had similar experience. You might lose a water pump or a power steering pump or an AC compressor, but the engine never gives out.
