I am just starting out working my speed bag for fun and conditioning. This is my third swivel; I found the “link” style swivels to be somewhat erratic and by watching the Everlast training videos on YouTube as well as many documentaries of fighters, I was noticing what was being used by serious fighters.
Your swivel is great and half the cost of the Title. It allows for great responsiveness and establishing a good rythem. It is forgiving to a degree but you have to concentrate!! There is a couple of issues: It is noisy; the main pin is somewhat sloppy.
To cut down on the pin moving sideways I put thin washers on both sides of the main body which helped. The pin seems loose in the main body of the swivel and has a lot of play to rattle around. My suggestuon, bearings in the main body similar to how skate board trucks are built.
I enjoy your product and it gets a lot of use. My next upgrade will be the board! I notice many fight gums have very thick boards. I am looking for one for increased responsiveness; right now I put weight on the top of mine.
You do need tools and a little common knowledge to switch the old with THIS new swivel. I’m a moderate boxer with no amateur fight and love this products smoothness and outstanding quality. I asked my boxing gym coach where he got his speedbag swivel due to it being the greatest quality; he directed me to this one.

If you need a hanger for you kickboxing/punching bag or you hate the one that came with it then I highly recommend this one. the swivel chain is also very useful during your workouts, the hanger also has hookups for all four points – many only have 2.
the latches are the same that rock climbers use so it can hold the easily hold the weight. I have had mine for 3 years and the clasps have not broken. the bag has dropped once from the heavy beam I have it attached to but it is an easy fix.
take your eyelet slather some wood glue onto it and put a little into the stripped hole and voila! good as new. for a good price an its sturdiness.

This is a high quality mount. It’s fairly thick metal and has double lock nuts for security. The person that had issues with the lag bolts should have drilled two small pilot holes before screwing them in.

This speed bag platform is good for beginners. Like everything else Everlast. It is cheaper quality built to sell to the masses. It is fairly affordable and somewhat sturdy. I had to “sturdy” it up with some lock-tite, heavier mounting hardware and weighed down with a sand bag on top.
The swivel that came from Neverlast was loud and sloppy. After three weeks I replaced it with a $50. 00 swivel and it was the best thing I did for this platform. I also spent the money on a good bag which makes all the difference in the world.
Bottom line is that you get what you pay for. If you are looking to settle for something that will “work”. this platform will work. There is a huge gap between an affordable platform like this and the much higher priced platforms.
There doesn’t seem to be much in the middle. I believe that someone with a little ingenuity, motivation and time could build a much better platform for around the same money.
Once I threw away the installation instructions things went smoothly. Look at the picture on the box and proceed. All goes well during installation until the time to put up the plywood circle. GET HELP.

I ordered this swivel hoping the easy change with the cotter pins would be of use with multiple bags. It appears the pins simply wont hold in place under the vibration and the swivel comes apart. Ive tried using pliers to tighten the pins still fails quickly Very disappointing dont buy.

i use my heavy bag to switch up my cardio a couple times a week and after 6 months of this the swivel failed. like the ring just eroded and theres a chunk missing from the ring that connects to the bag.

One other thing i forgot in prior review. Make sure your rack is a tall one i have a body solid squat rack and it is about 6-8 inches too short. I ended up mounting to my exposed wall studs by creating strong cross supports to mount the frame.
The mount is rock solid even though the item has issues as previously noted. Its a good mounting alternative so you dont use up squat rack space. I would put my strong wall mount up against any mount for this item.
The platform is stable, well made. The swivel is well made, but unusable – you can’t get the non-stop session you want. (Yes, I have been in the boxing world for the last 20 years). The board is also super thin and cheap.
However, for the price paid, you can’t ask for more. What was my solution: 1) $20 swivel from amazon (everlast), 2) two 23 inch wooden circle boards from Lowes ($17 each), glued them, drill them, paint them – Done.
Took a few weeks to get shipped due to backorder but it did arrive, it is a Solid build, the Wooden platform was damaged, asked for a new wooden platform and they shipped out a replacement asap. I would recommend this product.

So the mount itself feels sturdy. The hardware that comes with it is garbage. The lag bolt snapped during mounting eith MAYBE 15ft lbs of torque (not alot) The U joint threads where off senter and had nearly no material on one side.
Easy fix $5 worth of hardware a home depot and my 100lb is hanging from the ceiling. The moun itself feels sturdy and is made of better mild steel than the chinesium hardware. The welds looks solid aswell.
This is a very well made bit of kit. Easy to install with 2 heavy duty bolts. It’s ceiling mounted, holding up a 90kg practice dummy held by 2mtre of 8mm thick steel chain which weighs a further 3kg I’m pretty sure the house will fall down before it will.
