20 Best Swimsuits For Lap Swimming (2023 Updated)

I usually wear a size 10-12 bathing suit, jeans, blouse, so I bought size 10 first in this suit. Another reviewer said to order “True to size”. I could not even pull it up past my abdomen. I am 5 foot ten & weigh 185 pounds.

I had to send it back to get a larger size. I got size 14, skipping over size 12. Size 14 was also too small for me. It came over my waist, but that was it. Unable to get it up to my chest. I really liked the feel of this suit & the color, but it is not for me.

So I sent both sizes back.

After reading the reviews on this suit I chose to size up and purchase the size 12. I”m a fairly active 60 year old, 5”4″ tall, 140 lb, pear shape with a moderate amount of tummy, back fat and hips.

I typically wear a size 8-10 in pants/shorts and a 10 in T-shirts. This suit fits nicely. No ride up, no cameltoe, no nipple show through, modest leg opening. This suit does not stretch out when wet and allows me to swim laps comfortably.

I”ve even worn this beneath my wet suit diving. The fabric is not the typical spandex/lycra most swimsuits are mode of. It is made of a crepe-like polyester knit which boasts of being a chlorine resistant fabric.

I wash the suit either by hand or on gentle cycle in a net bag and hang to dry. Color and resilience of the fabric remains the same even after several washings. The suit does have moderate stretch through out but can be somewhat challenging to pull the straps up over the shoulders.

This is a good thing; the straps do not shift while swimming. My boyfriend loves it on me; says its flattering. I intend to purchase another.

I am 5ft 4 in and 195 lbs. Bust 41 in, waist 39 in, hips 48 in, suit leg opening location 28. 5 in, breastbone notch to crotch 22 inches. My suits always ride-up in back. I require a tighter leg opening, more fabric in the bottom for a larger ‘pocket’, and slightly longer trunk, and less space in the chest needing only a B or C cup.

I tried the size 18. This suit has a soft cup bra that fit me perfectly. It is snug enough to stay put during active swimming. The straps are easy and do not twist. It is plenty long enough in the body.

Nice polyester fabric- fully lined in black fabric. It was fine at first, but after walking around for 5 minutes, it began riding up in the back. I need more fabric for a larger bottom pocket. I could manage with it and it is close to perfect, but the nylon/spandex in size 20 fits my perfectly.

I ordered this to wear when paddle boarding, kayaking, skiing and yes swimming. I’m 60 yrs old, fit, and wear a size 2p. I ordered a size 6 (the smallest available at QVC) and it fits though its a little long in the torso.

I probably could have used a size 4. It looks cute on and stays put. It has a shelf bra which gives support though there’s no modesty padding. The material is substantial, more than standard racing suits.

No crotch lining. It is fitted to the body, good or bad.

7 large horizontal runs in the lining of the suit. This item was damaged at the point of sale. I wore this suit once for 1 hr in the pool, then hand washed it in cold water, wrapped it in towel to remove excess water, and turned it inside out to dry- that’s when I noticed a major defect.

I saw 7 long horizontal runs across the lining of the suit. The runs are 7 to 8 inches in length and with time they may get longer and wider, or more runs may appear ultimately resulting in a shredded lining and damaged suit.

It’s more than I don’t like it, it’s a damaged product sold as a new product. The materials used to make the suit are cheap.

Suit is described as having ‘Light bust support, with a comfortable under band that keeps your bust in place’. This is not accurate. It is lined all over and has no bust support. Also, time will tell but after first use the lining fabric is showing signs of wear so not sure how long lasting it will be.

Otherwise, it’s a nice and comfortable swimsuit!.

Come on JL – get this description amended!! Sadly I did not read the reviews as I have had many Speedo Endurance swimsuits and know what to expect. However, as previous reviews state, this product does not have any bust support so I will sadly have to return.

Shame, as otherwise it is a lovely colourful design, presumably with all the usual Speedo Endurance qualities!.

I find it really hard to find bathers that fit well as I have a bigger bust. These bathers are so comfy and keep everything in place. I’m easily a size 16/18 i purchased the size 16 and they were a little tight at first but give a little stretch after a couple wears.

I swim in the 3/4 times a week and I have no complaints so far.

Not sure what’s worse, the way these fit, or the lack of communication. At first, I was pleasantly surprised. Someone reached out with an interest to send me some apparel and swag for free. I was honestly flattered.

I went through the protocol of ordering, etc. and had every intention of posting the required documents and online review. I was even more astonished when I received more stuff than I was even anticipating.

I think it’s a part of your “influencer” program. However, upon receiving the shorts, they were way too tight around my legs. As are most shorts with my build. I called the customer service lady and she told me to reach out to my rep that had set this up for me.

I sent an email stating that I didn’t want to just order a bigger size, as I felt that wouldn’t solve the problem. I asked if there were any other options and wanted to give feedback, since that’s what I thought this was all about.

However, I have not heard anything from anyone. I have chosen not to promote or advertise TYR, positively or negatively. I don’t see any reason to bash, but I also don’t see any reason to post to my social media about the product, just for the sake of posting.

I’m not sure why I fell through the cracks. Maybe I’m not famous enough for you guys. Either way, I love your goggles, but have no clue what your swimwear feels like. It looks like you’ve outfitted and sponsored the bigger name CrossFit athletes, so a coach like me is probably nothing to you.

But, you definitely lost a customer.

The fit is compact and as you expect, the materials are top notch. One thing to mention are they are a little shorter than my traditional jammers. Not a negative, but I was used to the jammers coming just slightly above my knee where as this suit is more in the middle of my thigh.

I have been searching for some new tights to workout in and came across these jammers! I’ve ran and done barbell squats and can’t wait to get into the water with these! They stretch and move well and are just compressive enough.

Love them!.

Admittedly, racers & trainers work well as underpinnings for board shorts. Since I’m more of a swimmer than surfer, it’s been interesting trying to find board shorts with outseams under 18” and that don’t want to end up around your feet.

A bunch of apparel suppliers have tried to sell stretch jammer-like underwear for board short, some are actual jammers. Real pool ones seem to work as well as any. This model lacks the anti-microbial lining of slightly more upscale ones.

Ok, so I was pretty much a speedo exclusive swimmer. One of my favorite athletes, Michael Andrew, swims for Tyr so I decided to give them a try. I love the fit of the suit! I do think they are a tad bit long in the legs.

But it doesn’t impact performance. The fabric feels great! I have been extremely happy with my purchase!.

I’ve been competitive swimming and serious swimmer for over 30 years. Never had a suit l couldn’t wear before because fabric so thick, constrictive on my quads. This suit is correct size however fabric is so thick and constricting around my quads that during workouts my lower legs calf muscles begin to cramp.

I cannot use this suit.

Just like the picture, very pretty colours and not see through at all. The lining is navy and the white parts of the pattern are still opaque once wet. Not as much stretch as a speedo pair but very comfortable anyway.

You have to go at least 2 sizes down with this suit but once you get it right, you will like it It is thinner than Speedos and I like that. The blue colr is very vibrant too

I’ve owned a lot of speedo swimsuits and this one is similar to others: it stays in place well and is comfortable. I find speedo suits run a bit small, but their sizing is consistent. This swimsuit is better suited to smaller-chested swimmers.

My partner loves this swimsuit. She finds it comfortable and stylish. She feels confident when in the pool and recommends this product to others.

Nice colour and design. Got a size 32 which is a size 8, surprisingly small. I’m usually a size 8 and can sometimes fit in size 6 but this was too snug so had to return.

I ordered this swimsuit at the beginning of March and I have used it twice a week in a public indoor pool since then, one swim and one aquafit class per week. I always rinse in the shower after swimming, and then hand wash it in gentle liquid soap within 30 minutes of my swim, and drip dry.

Today I noticed that the fabric is thin with white flakes in a patch on the front of the tummy area, nowhere near any seams. There is also thinning at the back seam. So I have only had 10 weeks of use out of it and I don’t feel it is “safe” to wear any longer, for modesty sake.

I don’t think that this is good value at all especially when the fabric is advertised as “long life”. Unfortunately I need a supportive swimsuit and will have to order the same again as it sounds from the reviews that there is nothing better.

I previously got 3 and a bit months wear the same style, which is better but still not great. Perhaps I have had a faulty one this time? I would be interested in Bravissimo’s comments.

I bought this style one in pink one in grey last November 2021. I haven’t worn the grey one yet, but started wearing the pink late February 2022. I have very narrow hips so it’s always really difficult to find a swim suit that fits.

My normal bra is 36G. I was so pleased with the fit. So far a 5 star review. Unfortunately I noticed recently the lycra is already disintegrating, down the back and now across the bodice. I swim twice a week and (as advised) always rinse out the suit in cold water after each time.

I wish there was a way of stopping this happening. I am disappointed as I won’t be able to wear mine for much longer and spent quite a lot of money only to throw it away after 2 months use. Sorry 1 Star now.

The Aquamore swimsuits have great colors and designs however, I have purchased four suits and returned all. Three of the suits were not sewn right. Each had significant gapping under the arms especially the Geo Storm Scoop Neck One Piece (which is the suit with a terrific color design).

The fourth was the Color Block Zipper One Piece suit. Length felt too short, was uncomfortable and gapped a little at the top of the zipper. I did an exchange with one of the suits for a smaller size but that one had the same problem with the gapping.

If the material is grabbed on top, from the back, they fit okay. I don’t know how to sew darts in a bathing suit without it looking bad and I’m not up to paying $10-20 for alterations in addition to the $50 purchase price.

I’m done with ordering through here since I’ve also already paid close to $25. 00 for returns but, hey, I did order when the free shipping to me was available.

Cute suit. As another review stated it is orange not red – but still cute. But that’s where the ‘cuteness’ ends for me. This is the most ill fitting and uncomfortable suit. Definitely not for a bit of a longer torso.

When I got it, I rinsed it in cold water and couldn’t believe how much the orange color bled. Wearing it in the water aerobics class with a water belt, hikes up and the top sags to expose the lining and a good bit of your chest.

When you attempt to pull it up for more chest coverage, the suit cuts into your leg. Uncomfortable material as well. I’ve purchased this brand before and had a good result. This suit is cut way too small, I would go one size up.

Possibly it was made incorrectly. Sorry…I’m going back to Krinkle.

I bought 2 suits recently from here and the prints were lovely and the styles were nice for water aerobics. When the suits came and I tried them on, I was shocked that they had hardly any stretch. The fabric tags said they were 100% polyester.

Well, how can a swimwear company not put spandex into their suits? What were they thinking? I supposed buying cheap fabric from China that was inappropriate for swimwear. Maybe for a blouse, but not a swimsuit.

I cannot believe it and I really wanted to keep the suits as they were certainly pretty, but its too difficult to get them on without spandex in the knit. Sooooooo disappointed.

Description was spot on, this suit was more brown then photos appeared but went well with the contrast. Strong back zip and firmly holds a DD cup size to boot, although a D or smaller would have a neater look.

Handles salt; sand and chlorine and doesnt ride up. A great suit for the price.

Very disappointed in this suit. It was suggested to order one size larger which I did. Big mistake! It is very loose despite the fact that I have put on weight and my clothes are tight. In other words it runs large! The cut across the top is higher than any of my other Swim and Sweat suits and is somewhat uncomfortable as a result In short and am very disappointed in this suit.

In the past returns were free though I have only once had to return a suit. Now there is a charge for returns and, based on the charge and the inconvenience of making a return, I will not keep this suit but will be donating it to charity!.

I called instead of ordering on line cuz I have been tricked in the past with the measurements and sizes. I was told to get the Aquamore crinkle-y one in same size as my usual Krinkle. You could have put another person in the suit with me.

After I said as much to SnS I was not charged for return shipping but then missed out on the sale price etc when I ordered my recent last Krinkle suit. so in short careful trying to figure out Aquamore sizes…apparently fabric is a big factor as well as fit.

BTW, when are you going to tell us that you no longer are carrying Krinkle? Strong push on us to buy Aquamore.

I do water aerobics every day. I am tired of my bathing suits fading in the chlorine. One of my friends recommended that I try the bathing suits from Swim and Sweat. I am so glad that I did. The quality of the suit is great.

Sizing is true to size. And the styles are exactly what I was looking for. I had a problem with one of my suits and the customer service department took care of it immediately. I look forward to a long relationship with this company.

I have no idea what happened to the back of the suit. Around the small of my back the suit has gotten like mesh. I have worn infrequently, rinse after use. I do the pool once or twice a week if that.

Never sit in it. Get changed right away and rinse. It almost looks like I was rubbing my back on a wooden wall or chair. The rest of suit is fine so I have to believe chlorine had nothing to do with this problem.

As my vacation to an all inclusive resort was going to be my first step towards my hijab journey, it was important for me to find modest swimwear that I can feel good about and good within. Lyra’s swimwear – the Sofia in Mink and Aztec – gave me the confidence I needed to feel beautiful and modest 💙 I had people smile at me as they saw me on the beach or resort and I felt way more beautiful in these gorgeous pieces than any bikini, any day! As I only brought 2 with me on the vacation, I was nervous if it would take a long time to dry but these pieces dry so quickly thankfully! The one call out I would ensure everyone is aware of is to make sure you guys the bra to wear underneath 👍🏽 I would love if in future redesigns, a built in bra could be included to provide further modesty already built within, and not having to purchase an add on.

Other than that, truly grateful for Lyra and can’t wait to rock these again in the future, InshAllah!.

I really love this burkini. I bought a medium- I was on the border between M and L. But regardless it fits very fitted, maybe I should’ve gone for L…an excuse to workout I guess 🙂 I do feel as a modest swimwear company there needs to be a modest size option where it’s more loosely made perhaps.

Bcs we are not always going to be in the water and I felt the need to wear a kaftan outside the water. The skirt is very nice in adding modesty coverage. The suit itself is beautifully made and not see through when wet.

The shirt is a one piece swimsuit (which is not shown by the model) and you wear the skirt and pants on top. So it’s 3 pieces.

I bought so many other swimsuits from other brands but felt the fit wasnt good or look. As petite person, it was hard to find modest swimwear that looks really good until I bought Sofia from Lyra. It was the best buy.

From packaging to quality and detail has been top notch. I been telling all my sisters to get theirs too. I highly reccomend, and looks good in every shape. Im 5’2 and size xs , yet makes me feel confident.
