20 Best Swim Shirt For Guys (2023 Updated)

Quality, fit, and comfort are excellent. I especially like the higher collar. Better than similar products I’ve owned from other companies. I used it during a week at the beach and it provided excellent protection from the sun while keeping me cool.

I would purchase it again.

I bought this because I work at a summer camp she spend a considerable amount of time in the sun and on/in the water. It fits exactly as described and works very well. It dries fast and the UPF50 feature really cuts back on the amount of sunscreen I need to put on.

I highly recommend this shirt to anyone looking for a way to cover up at the beach.

Oh well, my Surf Rash Guard was measured up against my Morada shirts and I’m afraid it was well off the pace. In the future I will only buy Moradas. This is because I use the shirts in the winter while playing indoor tennis and the Moradas wick wonderfully and the Surf Rash Guard is not upto a comparable performance in a tennis playing situation!.

But, the Surf Rash Guard is an excellent buy because of the obvious quality with which it has been put together and the comfort with which it wraps around my body. I’m enjoying it, but not on the tennis court with vigorous exercise.

For that I wear one of my collection of Moradas. So, bottom line, if not doing vigorous exercise, enjoy the Surf Rash Guard! I do!.

I wear a lot of rash guards and wetsuits. The Coolibar rash guard is at the top of the list. Everybody advertises SPF 50 protection, but there seems to be a wide array of protection and quality. The Tutum rash guard meets and exceeds protection.

Sun cannot get through this material. High quality construction for what should be a very long life. Very comfortable and X-Large sizing was spot-on. I’ve been buying Rip Curl and O’Neil for many years.

I luckily stumbled across Coolibar in an internet search.

My son loves this shirt! His brother bought one while visiting in Florida and he kept telling me he should’ve bought one too, so I did for his birthday! Although this product is great navigating the Coolibar website is not a great experience.

It is tedious and after you place your order you’re kind of left wondering if you really did. Until you finally get an email. Buying it and shipping it to a different location was, yes, tedious.

Made of synthetic fibres, spandex, lycra, and elastane contain carcinogenic chemicals like polyurethane. Long-lasting contact with polyurethane can cause asthma reactions and lung irritation. Other risks include headaches and brain swelling because of the chemicals embedded in the fabric.

Bought this for cold swimming pools & lakes but so far only used it for helping my kid surf in Lake MI. I have a shorty wetsuit so in the 45 degree water this felt really good. I need a wetsuit but until I break down and buy one, this helps so much compared to just freezing… I kinda enjoy the cold so it’s not too bad.

This is by far my favorite, must have piece of gear. I even mentioned this in a Kiteboarding Magazine interview, years ago. This is my second one, only because I had a bad Prone foil accident which sliced through both my wetsuit and my Thermo X top, back in March.

It’s amazing how the fleece keeps water off your skin. No other product does what this top does. When I take my wetsuit off, the top feels dry and I feel warm. I tell all of my chilly girlfriends to buy one.

I can’t say enough good things about this rash guard and hayabusa as a company. I originally ordered two XL’s of this item but they were too small. Immediately upon submitting an exchange, the larger sizes were shipped.

I received the replacements very quickly which was greatly appreciated. The rash guards themselves are very high quality and keep me cool when rolling, even when under a gi. I love the simple design and the fact that it’s not ranked.

Rash guards with all those qualities are hard to find and I’ll definitely be ordering more as well as the long sleeve version.

Background- I’ve worn this to class twice and I just earned my bluebelt in BJJ. Pros + one of the coolest rash guard designs I could find (all the girl shirts were kinda ****). Bonus: I didn’t realize the inside of the shirt is bright blue, so where you flex/stretch it highlights the black by subtly showing through- very cool! (I would have definitely advertised this feature if I were Hayabusa!) + waist band has good tight grip + feels like quality + Shipping was super fast! I had it 2 days after I ordered it! (I’m trying to buy from companies directly instead of Amazon due to their political censorship) + Free shipping & free returns- that makes me feel comfortable buying clothes online.

Cons – Not available in women’s sizing- I had to order a small to get the right the arm length, but I could have used a looser size (I’m 5’2″, 160lb) Or I just need to work on my 6 pack- ha – I looked over my shirt for this review (didn’t think I would come up with any cons honestly), and I noticed that there is already some balling/signs of wear around the chest logo.

That was a bit disappointing- didn’t expect a Hayabusa shirt to do that to me after only 2 rolls/classes. – Price is a bit much for showing signs of wear after only 2 classes.

Had to go to the Quicksilver website to get proper sizing. The product is good. Was concerned that being long sleeved and black that it might make me hot. Have worn it in the sun twice now (albeit in milder weather) and have been quite comfortable.

Good price for UPF 50 shirt (might have been on sale). Delivery was also swift.

I bought this for my husband and he was very happy that I did. Multi-purpose as he was able to used it for swimming or a lounging wear around the house. The material is fine, soft, and cool. You can never go wrong with this one.

If you have other quicksilver rashes this is a bit bigger than other makes they’ve made. Unsure why. Bought medium version of this and its a bit bigger than past models. Still good but!

I have been wearing the Coolibar swin shirt for over a decade. They are expensive and the zippers are less than third rate. I have two $85 shirts that are useless because both the zippers have fallen apart.

I was even willing to buy another but they now no longer have a full zipper shirt available I went online and found SwimZip. I ordered a full zipper, long sleeve swim shirt. The shirt arrived in a couple of days.

I wore it the first day and now every day since I go the pool. I love it. It is very comfortable. The zipper is terrific. And the price was one/third the price of the Coolibar shirt. I am a fan.

Works very well, and dries quickly. Even out of the pool or ocean it kept me cooler as the water evaporated from the fabric. A slightly taller collar would assist as the current collar seems to flatten out once wet and with movement.

I ordered a size larger as I do not like a paint job fit. The garment was not to big and fit loose and was easy to get in and out of even wet.

My husband’s skin is the kind that requires regular scary mole checks and plenty of wife-anxiety. So obviously SwimZip was in his future. He’s a lanky guy so, even though we’re longtime SZ fans, I expected it to hang on him awkwardly.

I’m really fair skinned and despite my best efforts with heavy amounts of sunscreen, I still get more sun than I should. I wanted something that I could wear on the beach and swim with, without having to change shirts when going back and forth.

This fit the bill perfectly on all accounts. It’s comfortable to wear when swimming or sitting on the shore and it’s doing a stellar job of providing protection from the blazing sun. The sizing chart was spot on as well.

I normally wear a size small in t-shirts, regular shirts etc. and went with a size small for this. The fit is perfect. And yes, it is a snug fit. That’s what it’s designed to be. It’s worth every penny and then some, I highly recommend it.

I swim masters and live in Arizona. Most of the pools are outdoors which means a ton of sun exposure. If you swim in the sun a lot you’ll know that putting sunscreen on your back sucks and it doesn’t last forever.

These shirts fit perfect. They create a bit of drag but don’t feel like a parachute and they don’t restrict airflow around my neck. I’m 6 feet tall and 155 lbs. I went with a small so it would be as tight as possible.

Works great and lasts 4-6 months depending on how much I use it. Well worth it.

This review focuses on how it fits, for those customers unsure which size to order. So far this is my third Size M regular T-Shirt from Lands End and each one fits close to my body without being skin-tight.

This fit is for a swimmer’s build. The shoulders fit just right, with room to move and is not skin tight. I’m 6′ tall, 180#, shoulders wider than my waist, arms normal or long, and the sleeves are long enough for me despite that I usually order T-Shirts in a Large or XL size.

The long sleeves are plenty long enough!! If you find American shirts too big around the middle, and/or if you order Large because you need ample room for your shoulders, then I recommend these Lands End shirts in Size MEDIUM — just right (not quite snug, but fit closely) at the shoulders, and tapering down a bit toward the waist, then try a Size Medium regular T-Shirt.

If it fit any closer it would seem “European” and personally I don’t want anything “form fitting”. Just a casual fit that does not look and feel baggy like virtually every other American LARGE sized T-Shirt I have ever owned.

As these are the fourth and fifth T-Shirts from Lands End I’ve worn, I know that the sizes tend to run a bit LARGE and I cannot recall any other time when I have ordered smaller than a LARGE. Please note that I find Lands End T-SHIRT sizes tend to run a bit large — I normally wear Large or X-Large T-shirts.

Also note this does not apply if you’re ordering button-down shirts — in that case, if your build is athletic/swimmer (fit, but not bulked up) I can safely recommend the Mens Size L ‘slim fit’ shirts which are wide enough in the shoulders but also are tapered down along the middle, waist, and hips.

I rate the size ‘a little big’ (runs slightly large) as I suspect many men who wear medium might find this shirt a bit loose-fitting.

After getting burned on a previous trip tp the water park, we bought this excellemt hooded shirt with SPF50 protection. The fabric is soft and dries quickly. The hood prevented my son from getting any sunburn on his neck, ears and scalp.

Once seated to relax on a lounge chair for a while, the roomy design of the hood allowed it to be pulled forward. It was like having your own personal take-it-with-you shade canopy. We bought this on sale, but it has proven its worth at any price.

Though we applied sunscreen all day on the first waterpark trip, there was some sunburn. Not this time, while wearing the comfy hooded rash guard shirt. We just bought a second one for backup in another color.

I have multiple NRS Rashguard shirts. i purchased them in short and/or long sleeves over the many years that I’ve paddled. I continue to use the Rashguard jersey from 20yrs. ago. Last summer I purchase a Rashguard short sleeve shirt.

By the time three summer months went by, my shirt looked like a Tie-Dyed Grateful Dead jersey. The blue really faded in the sun. The part of the jersey where my PFD blocked the sun is the original color.

Don’t know if this is supposed to happen. My old rashguard jerseys did not fade like the newer ones. I can send pics. if anyone is interested in seeing this rash guard.

Great rash guard. Without this, I put on my new wetsuit, and the arm seams were cutting into my skin and hurt when I bent my arms, leaving red prints in half an hour. I put this rashguard on underneath, and it didn’t cut anymore! Does its job.

Worn this on the water. Smooth and thin, fits very well, no wrinkly folds anywhere. I have some long-sleeve H2Core shirts and thought I could use those as rashguards, but they are more loose fitting and didn’t lie flat on my belly, a bit less comfortable.

I thought the zipper might feel cold against my neck, but I didn’t notice it too much. I don’t know if it’s entirely necessary, but I haven’t tried the old no-zip version, so I can’t say whether it’s better or worse.

I have a very sensitive skin that I must constantly protect against the sun. While I use sun screen, it has its limits particularly for the long days a the beach. I just came back from one week at the beach with the kids and grandkids.

I wanted the rash vest to help me retain body heat to swim in colder water. The material is quite thin and I was a bit dubious that it would help but trying it out in October swimming in UK waters, it seemed to do the trick ok.

It is worth considering whether a thicker material, neoprene maybe, might work better, but I am satisfied.

Super soft, excellent durable quality. I bought this for my son, he is autistic and has sensory issues. This rash guard was super soft and he absolutely loved it!

I am 5 ft, 7 inches and 117 lbs. I have always worn body glove rash guards in extra small size without any problems. However , this particular one is short in the sleeves. I have redeemed it’s usefulness by cutting into the seam line close to the base of the arm sleeve to create a thumb “hold”.

That has provided the coverage I need while maintaining the ability to swim at the pool. It is too bad it requires redesigning.

Yes, I’m very impressed with this shirt. I live in Vt and Me. and the water can be bitter cold, and it really takes the edge off. Great base layer under my wet-suit too. My sizing is difficult, I’m really a large tall, or xl to get the sleeves long enough.

I went xxl because I heard sizing could be tight. It really fits great, comfortable, love it!.

This is fantastic quality! The material is thick yet quick drying and comfortable. It is soft and fleecy on the inside but looks like a lightweight rash shirt on the outside. An excellent option for those who don’t like cold water but don’t want to look silly wearing a steamer in Summer!.

Excellent product. Be aware to go up one size from your normal size as these are very tight fitting. I like the fact that it’s long-sleeved – saves on having to put sunscreen on your arms. Note – you should still put sunscreen on the back of your hands and about two inches above your wrists because the sleeves can ride up exposing your wrists to sunburn.

Good material, good fit. The collar can be a challenging one to get out especially when wet and the whole thing is sticking on you. Rebel shipped the item quickly and provided regular updates and tracking.

T-shirt that I bought to replace one that I have from Decathon to swim in the sea. It is of great quality, very comfortable and strong fabric. Size L fits me perfectly. 173cmts 74kg 52 years old well carried but with a body according to age, that is to say a little more waist.

In more athletic or slim bodies it would be the M.

Great shirt. It does not allow the goat to burn in the strong midday sun. (I don’t wear it until 11 am). Pleasant material. A warm recommendation.

My son wears size XL Husky and I ordered that size in this rash guard. When I received the package and took out the rash guard, it was so small I actually checked the label to make sure I had not accidentally ordered the wrong size.

Instead of fitting like an XL Husky, it looked more like a size medium. I can’t say much for the durability of the item since I am returning it but just wanted to forewarn everyone to definitely order up!.
