20 Best Sweatpants For Tall Women (2023 Updated)

I recently bought several pair of these fleece sweatpants in various colors but all the same size. I’ve had these sweatpants before and after over a decade of wearing them everyday around the house they were finally wearing thin.

The material is super comfortable with full coverage and easy to move around in without being baggy. My only critique is that both times I’ve bought multiple colors all the same size, there’s always one color that seems to be cut or sized differently than the rest.

Last time it was only the purple pairs that felt tighter and the seams hit me in different places than the other colors. This time, it’s the black pairs. Not sure why these specific ones are a different cut or fit despite being the same size and manufacturer.

Good quality, nice fit. Except for the fact that they are listed as Petite and I still have to shorten them about three inches. I am only 5 ft tall so they would fit great on a taller woman. I would definitely buy more colors of they become available.

Nicer looking than regular sweatpants. Washed and dried well with little or no shrinkage. I am a stay at home senior and I need comfortable clothing.

I bought these exact same sweat pants about 4 years ago and they held up very well. This time I ordered the same ones I had before at the same size. I found that the material was much thinner and the fit ran small.

I decided to give them to charity rather than send them back. I like the pants and will order the next size up. They’re inexpensive enough to just get a larger size. Now I just need to see if they will hold up as long as my previous pair.

Amazing joggers! I ordered and ended up keeping these in both size S and M. For reference, I have 39 inch hips and 28 inch waist, so I need pants that will accommodate curve. I’ve worn both S and M to work now, and prefer size S.

They are a perfect fit. The M are a tad baggy but also work. I love the large side pockets (on both sides!). I constantly fill my pockets as a bedside nurse and am disappointed with lack of pockets in women’s pants – but these have plenty.

My only critique is the fabric – I wish it was softer similar to my running shorts/nylon feel. But these are still some of the best joggers I’ve tried in terms of fit and practical pockets.

Finally a jogger that fits right. I’ve wasted money ordering other joggers just to be disappointed that the ankle openings were huge. These are a true jogger. I’m 5’2 and ordered the petite medium and they fit perfect.

The length is not too short. The material is soft and breathable but too thin. No fading or shrinking. I’m pear shaped with wider hips and a bottom. The medium fits perfect. This material does NOT stretch.

I absolutely love the material. They are extremely comfortable. However, I ordered the petite because I am only 5’1” and they are short. I never have this problem and thought it was kind of strange. I didn’t return them because I figured the elastic at the bottom would eventually stretch and give me a little more length.

Plus I didn’t want to go through the hassle of returning them. I would definitely recommend them, the style and comfort are amazing.

Similar to what others have noted, these joggers are absolutely soft, very thin/lightweight (can see through), and slightly roomier in the hip and upper thigh areas. Inseam lengths in Alloy Tall have always been on point, a definite positive! Perfect for lounging or running around in milder temperatures (not New England winter!).

Noticed substantial pilling in the material when roughhousing with the kiddos, which won’t return to original form. Easy to clean spills off! Although incredibly comfortable, I personally would not wear these as regularly as other joggers and leggings from Alloy — but some ladies may love this particular jogger.

These joggers are very comfortable. The size xl is true to size and if lost a little weight they would still fit. The material is very comfortable. I wish they were a little better quality after several washes the material looks pretty rugged.

They were so comfortable I ordered another pair.

For the price these are extremely thin and they don’t feel “super soft”, especially on the inside. The inside is actually not soft at all and the outside only moderately so. They are also pretty see through with was an even bigger disappointment.

Purchased these in black and gray expecting great things and was definitely disappointed.

They don’t look the same in real life. They have pin stripes. If that’s your thing then great! I prefer a solid color

They fit perfect. Were extremely comfortable, and thick enough for winter wear. Held up great in washer and dryer. Ordered many pairs. Would buy more except running out of room. At first it was just the low price that caught my eye.

Bought these in two colors for outdoor walking as the weather turn cooler. They are soft and warm, fit well and launder like a dream. Couldn’t be more pleased!

Bought these for my 90-yr-old mom. She scoured my Blair catalogs and came up with these. I took them out of package and looked at them myself in case I ever wanted to order any and can tell you they are well-made.

She wanted pants with no band at ankle and a drawstring to fit to her. She gets a small in most Blair items but wanted a medium in these due to water retention and these fit just fine. The only negative I see in them is there is no pocket but she knew that.

She also didn’t want a wide waistband and these have just a normal waistband like she wanted. She has been an excellent seamstress all her life and if she approves of a clothing item you can be sure it’s okay!.

Very few petite items sold as petites are for truly petite frames. Most female models who model petite clothing are not shorter than 5’2″. Many petite women are not that tall. I am barely 5′ and continue to be disappointed with petite sizing.

At best, petite clothing is usually about 2 inches shorter in length, but all other sizing is untouched. Petite pants are almost always at least 2″ long in the crotch and 2-3 inches wider in the hip and calf area.

Basically the pants are a regular size simply shortened at the bottom. The top I purchased is a regular. Blair does not sell petite tops. If they did, I’m sure the issues would be the same as for the petite pans.

The tailoring costs to make a petite item fit are astronomical. These pants and the top had some cotton, I washed them in the hottest water setting on my washer and dried them on the highest heat seating.

I was able to shrink them a bit, but not sufficient to wear outside. They are items I will only wear in the house.

I bought two pairs of these pants, one blue and one brown. I got Med Petite which I always buy. These were HUGE! They should have been marked XL regular. Not only very big but very long. I’m hoping the dryer will shrink them.

I washed them but line dried them to prevent shrinkage but now realize after wearing them that they are huge. I recommend if you purchase these pants that you order a size or two smaller than you usually wear and plan to have them long.

Also send them back if they seem a little big when you first try them on. Don’t assume they will shrink after washing. I would not buy again.

Bought these for my daughter in black. Good quality. Fit well. Sizing true to size. Would buy again.

These pants have very large font “Adidas” up the back of one leg. If the pics had shown this I never would have purchased them. Fit and quality is nice. Pity about the shameless branding.

So I did purchase these fleeced sweats. They were so nice, BUT THE WAISTBAND WAS CURLING OVER. I COULD NOT FLATTEN IT OUT. IT WAS IF THE INSIDE ELASTIC BAND WAS TOO BIG FOR THE MATERIAL SO IT HAD TO GO SOMEWHERE AND THAT MEANT IT NEEDED TO BEND CAUSING THE CURL.

IT WAS EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING. I can no longer get the color in my size and when I went back to the store to return, just for the heck of it I grabbed a pair off the rack and simply extended the waist.

Not like i was using it like a slingshot but a simple stretch to see the waistband expand. Some colors did curl and some did not. I hope the items on backorder will not have the same problem. Please LandsEnd read my review! Could you fix that band? AND, why don’t you carry this (oh so warm) sweatpant in Rich Coffee or some kind of Brown.

It would be nice to see the basic colors AND a variety of other ones. You did a good job on the fleece part but i had to take of 2 stars off for the crappy waistband. I would recommend this product ONLY IF THE WAISTBAND DOES NOT BEND OR CURL OVER.

I recently bought 2 pair of these lined leggings, in black and gray. I was looking for a legging silhouette that would work well with boots (tucked in) in a warmer fabric. These hit the mark on those criteria.

The leggings are a looser fit than I expected – not at all the smooth fit in the online pics – so they read a bit more like a skinny leg sweat pant than a legging. I washed them to see if they’d shrink up any and they did a bit, but are still on the loose side.

I’m reordering a size down in another color to see what happens. The ones I got are wearable, just not quite the same look I anticipated (more slouchy). Lastly, let’s talk about the pocket. There is a single pocket, which is probably sufficient for a smaller phone or device.

It sits at the size seam on one side, but toward the back. Seems odd placement to me, but not a big deal. I’m a huge fan of pockets, but that wasn’t my main reason for purchasing these leggings, so I could take or leave the tiny pocket.

My go to is leggings, every day, and I’m also always cold, so these looked perfect. I bought a few pairs in my normal size in the petite range. My impression after wearing for the first full day: size seems accurate, and the length is just right.

The material feels like sweatshirt fleece, nice and cozy and very soft on the inside. The pocket isn’t in an intuitive spot nor easy to reach. The fit is literally like sweats cut close to the body; there’s some added snap but they don’t compress the way leggings usually do, and there’s a little added fluffiness from the fleece.

They also are baggy around the knees from sitting down all day. I haven’t washed them, but Lands End fleece always washes like a dream. In summary: they are so comfy, I’m going to wear these constantly! But, they are not flattering, and I probably won’t wear them away from the house much.

The length is great, and having a 36” inseam is extremely difficult to find any pants long enough. The down side to these is the panel down the side of the leg adds bulk, which isn’t flattering, and the sizing is off.

I got the large as I have a 32-33” waist and they where huge all over. These are not flattering and for $50 I can buy AllSaints sweats where are superior in quality and a lot for flattering. It’s a shame because I had such high hopes for these.

Add on top the fact that my package didn’t ship for 2 weeks… I won’t be coming back for myself.

This is my second pair of fleese pants. I’m not young, I’m 5′ 9″ with a 33 ” inseam. I bought xtall large the first time because of my waist and they were a little full in the hips. This time i sized down to a xtall mediam and they fit best.

I pretty much maxed out the waist elastic, but still comfortable, well made and the cut is perfect. Not baggy! I buy the extra length because i like them touching my ankle even after drying.

This is the first time I’ve ordered items from American Tall. I gave these to my daughter for Christmas, since she’s been having a hard time getting the right length & style without having to purchase guys sweats.

She loves them. the style, the material, & the length. Thanks for giving us another option to find clothes that fit well. Next time I will try & get something for my husband.

I have many, many pairs of Old Navy joggers, sweatpants, and leggings and all of them are a size small. These are MASSIVE. I know the oversized look is “in” but these are so unflattering. I could roll the entire waistband and the bottoms were still saggy in my normal size small.

I’m not even sure if ordering an XS would solve the problem. The quality is very good, however.

Purchased Medium-Petite (as I have short legs compared to torso/height). Waist was way too wide in relation to hips & size, considering it has elastic & a drawstring. They’re supposed to fit “natural waist” so elastic/drawstring need only enough give to get the waistband over hips; by the time I used drawstring to try and pull in to fit my waist, there were so many gathers it was bulky & uncomfortable.

I have several other pairs of sweats (variety of manufacturers) with elastic & a drawstring that fit over my hips and then only need be drawn in a bit and tied, to stay up and fit my natural waist without having inches and inches of thick, multiple-layered waistband bunched up around my waist (hips 37″, natural waist measured over thin, tucked in undershirt 32″).

The fabric of these sweats indeed had a soft hand, but the fit was so out-of-whack that I had to return them. These were at mostly cotton so it was disappointing that the cut was so off-the-mark. The search for mainly-cotton, comfortable sweatpants continues.

wish LLBean would make some “normal” mostly-cotton sweats (not high-rise, but not too low-slung) as some of us are not enamored of wearing clothes that are primarily un-natural material. With un-gathered leg cuffs, straight legs, & pockets–which these sweats had.

but a more reasonable situation at the hips/waist. Just because I am 68 years old, I don’t want to go around in baggy clothes, nor do I want form–hugging, skin-tight (which negates any warmth the pants provide).

These are very comfortable lounging pants. But they too thin to really be sweatpants. I have been trying to find good decent weight sweatpants and I have come to the conclusion that they don’t exist for women.

However – I really like these for working at home. They are soft – at least to start out with. They loose the original softness after several washings. Due to the slight stetchiness they loose their shapes and only look like the modeled ones when you first put them on.

I don’t really mind that though. They are my go to pants for working at home or hanging about the house. I have five pairs that way I’ll continue to have some when this line is discontinued. (And things are always discontinued!) So overall I would recommend them but would qualify the recommendation.

Bought in two colors and now coming back for a third. (I’d buy more colors but not fond of the teal and port shades. If they were heathered, maybe. ) ANYWAY. 🙂 These sweats are crazy comfy, and the petite length is true.

I wear them around the house although I could totally wear these to the grocery or other casual place. Best part, really, is all the pockets, particularly the side pockets. Not enough comfy pants have pockets.

They don’t add width either – they don’t make you ‘hippy’ like side pockets can often do. My only negative (not enough to take away a star) is that the waist is just a touch too big for me and I have to keep them tied tight, otherwise they have a gap.

But that’s a common issue for me (bigger hips and thighs with a small waist), and I’m grateful for the ties instead of elastic. Nice wide waistband too. You can’t go wrong with these.

The sweats were definitely long enough for me! I ordered medium XT because it was my first time buying and I was skeptical that the tall would be long enough. I’m 6’ and the XT are so long they can cinch over my heels and down to my arches! I definitely could have gone with the regular Tall.

But I’m keeping them cause they’re cozy. Next time I’ll just get regular tall. My husband is 6’4” and they actually fit him even though he’s a lot heavier than me LoL! They have good stretch.

They look great, love these! Good length. They are high-waisted on me but work ok. They do fit quite loose, I would probably go a size down if I bought them again. I don’t think anything listed as “high-waisted” from your site would fit me though; these aren’t listed as “high waisted” but on me they certainly are.

I would have preferred a bit shorter rise.

Like every other review on this site I just need to start out with. FINALLY! Pants that are actually long enough! Like actually really really long because I have a 38″ inseam! These sweatpants are awesome.

They’re cozy, they’re baggy without being frumpy, and they’re a lovely color and texture. I don’t love the weird stripe of different fabric down the side- it’s less soft and it’s thin so if you’re wearing them for winter house pants that’s not ideal.

You’ll feel a bit colder right where that fabric is, but they’re so warm that maybe the idea was to give you a little breathing ability? I also wish it had a band of fabric instead of bunching elastic at the bottom, but it’s not so bad that it’s a deal breaker.

I will still love these and keep these until they fall apart! Lastly, I’m a slender build but not super skinny and these pants fit much looser than the ones pictured, which I like. THANK YOU American Tall for doing a great job of getting cozy practical clothes on the market for tall people!.

These sweatpants are so comfortable I bought a second pair. I am not sure if it’s my weight loss or the sizing of the pants themselves but I found these run large. I bought an XXL the first time, which are very large on me (perfect for hanging out at home).

For reference I wear an 18 in jeans. The pic is me wearing the XL which fit nice. Sorry for the editing, did not want to show off my foot or my laundry. These are cozy and hold up in the wash. Get your regular size if you want something really baggy and size down for something more fitted.

Colour is beautiful. Strings have metal shorts so they don’t unravel.

I bought these because I was looking for a sweatpants in this colour with pockets and a comfortable fit. Plus I wanted all cotton or as close as I could get. Well, the colour is perfect, the fabric turned out to be 50% cotton and 50% polyester.

Not as advertised. (90/10). The waist is fine but the body of the pants are almost balloon shape. I am handy with a sewing machine so I reduced the width by four inches on each leg by sewing a seam in on the inside seam, up through the crotch and down the other side 2″ inches in from the original seam.

Now they fit properly, and while I’m still not happy with the fabric, they are comfortable and cozy. They were on sale so it was worth it to me.

So I bought these expecting them to be warm, fluffy, soft and thick. Upon opening the package, I was disappointed of how thin the material was, and was worried they wouldn’t feel warm. (Even though the material is very soft) However, my disappointment was squished by how perfect these joggers are.

They’re so warm that I was stripping layers whilst sat on my sofa, totally windproof whilst walking so no nasty chills, so soft I love the feel of them and the shape is so perfect they make my flat hips look like I’m a model.

I feel amazing wearing them and know I look great too. Never had a happier buy.

These joggers are super comfortable. The fit is not great on me (I am tall and rather skinny) and these are made for someone with more curves around their hips. Because of this, they are so unflattering on me that even my friend commented on that (!!!).

I love the comfort and happily wear them anyway! The length is just ok on me (I am 6-feet / 183 cm), could have been even a little longer. They are not baggy around the legs.

For reference, I’m a slim 6’2” girl. When these arrived and I tried them on out of the package they fit perfectly, and when I washed them I used cold water and was careful to lay them out to dry so they wouldn’t shrink.

Somehow, they still managed to shrink significantly and are now much too short. Disappointing that I can’t return them at this point. The material is comfortable and the quality otherwise is fine.

My size varies between 14 & 16 on Asos. Most times I ignore the recommended size and get the size down and I usually have to send it back because it’s too small. This time I did the opposite and it came too big.

It’s very loose in the crotch area. I would suggest a size down depends on how you want it to fit. I wanted it to be a little loose which is why I went with the recommended 16 but I’m disappointed. I didn’t have time to send it back.

So I will have the give the other one away. The quality is nice and thick though.

I am really happy I bought these joggers! I usually can’t find clothes for my height – 188 cm, but these are perfect! I ordered size 40 and were afraid they would shrink in the wash as some reviews said, but this isn’t the case – I even accidentally put them in the dryer – if you stretch them out a little bit with the iron afterwards, they are the same as before.

The material is on the thinner side, but it is just what I wanted for spring and summer!.

Ordered them in size eu38, it came in eu40. The black one is ok, but doesn’t worth it. The grey one is made of another material and it is to baggy in low belly so it looks like pijama. After I washed it the black one got smaller and I have to wash it after 1 or 2 wearing.

Didn’t return them, it’s ok to wear at home, but disslike anyways.

I was looking for something more like sweatpants than leggings and these looked like they’d fit the bill. But after receiving them and trying them on, I’m going to have to return them. Why is LL Bean making womens’ pants so big in the thighs? Nearly every pair of pants I’ve ordered in the last year – jeans, corduroys, sweatpants, cargo pants – are cut like jodhpurs, at least to some degree.

It’s very unflattering! Even the “boyfriend” jeans, which you’d think would mean a straighter cut, are voluminous around the thighs. My thighs are not exactly slim, so that’s not the issue. And if I got a smaller size, they’d be much too tight around my waist and calves.

I buy a large percentage of my clothes from LL Bean, so this has been frustrating.

Soft, practical, and comfortable pants, and I love having the drawstring at the waist. Has pockets! I wear these often and have several in black. Other reviews have stated no shrinkage, but I have had mine for a long time and have washed them many times.

Mine shrank somewhat with laundering (fit and length) but not enough so that they no longer fit me other than becoming a little shorter in length than I would have liked. There has been no pilling and no holes in the fabric.

I do recommend these, and am glad that I got them, although maybe I should have washed in cold water (not warm) and dried at low setting (instead of regular).

LOVE the fabric – not too heavy, not too light. LOVE the 2 front pockets & 2 back pockets. LOVE the straight legs – nice & slimming. The only thing I do not like is the drawstring waist. How I wish LL Bean would make these sweatpants with a tummy control waistband.

My tops always cover the waisband, and drawstrings make my tops poof out at tummy. And they’re a pain to tie every time I use the ladies room. They’re very loose around my waist, so I have to pull the drawstrings tight.

Sometimes I’ll tuck them under the waistband to make it flat around my tummy.

Outside of work I like to be as comfortable as possible and these pants fit the bill. They are an athletic jogger style pant which I think is flattering on many body types. The fabric is very comfortable and the fit is perfect.

I have a size medium and the pants are a more relaxed fit than say leggings (skin tight) which is what I was going for. They are not overly thick or thin. In fact, they are the perfect weight and keep me warm but not too warm.

I bought these a couple weeks ago and don’t take them off unless I’m at work. They’re so comfortable. The lining is so soft, but breathable, so they keep me warm when I walk my dog early in the morning, but I don’t get sweaty when I’m speed walking or treadmilling for exercise.

I even sleep in these things. The only thing I’d change is to add a little stretch at the bottom so the ankle bands aren’t so stiff, but it’s definitely no deal breaker. Buy these! They’re great!.

I purchased these a few months ago in a size 8 (I’m usually a 6) they were so comfortable but HUGE. I can wear them indoor but nowhere else. I recent reordered in a 4 (since the 8 was so big) OMG AMAZING! Fits like a glove and is loooong.

I thought by ordering a size down it would make the pants shorter if it were tighter. Nope it still fit perfect. I wear them out to run errands with a basic top and it looks comfy and not so dressed down.

These joggers are ok. The black ones seem to be a better fit than the grey. They were not as long as I expected, I am 5 ft 8 and they are just the right length. If you are taller they may not fit so well.

The black ones were more high waisted than the grey in my opinion and the grey gathered a lot around the crotch. I brought a size 18 and they are definitely smaller than I expected as I am usually a 16 in joggers.

I have super long legs so I was worried about size, but the medium fit perfectly. Easily one of the comfiest pairs of sweats I own and I am obsessed with the colour! I lived in them for about a week before finally washing and they held up so well.

The package was sealed with no issues. The clothes are all awesome from this brand!.

My order came about a week ago. I randomly threw these on three days ago and was taken by how soft and cozy they felt. They have a substantial waistband that is not too tight. Lots of room in the legs, which I prefer.

The zipper pockets feel like legit quality. I haven’t washed them yet so I’m not sure how they’ll be after, but my initial wear is an A+.
