20 Best Socks For Varicose Veins (2023 Updated)

I got this as a trial after looking at another brand with rated compression of 20 to 30 mmHg, unsure which would work and last. This one didn’t show compression rating online. Only later found on the ordering card inside the package the rating of 8 to 15 mmHg.

This was for my uncle. His nurse was concerned with the upper end folding, digging in below his knee. Turned out, the folding can be undone by cutting off all the thread. The compression was sufficient for his legs.

I was afraid it maybe difficult putting the socks for him. With the nurse’s coaching and tips and a few times of doing, I became confident at helping on with the socks although it can still take sometime.

I was impressed with the dryness and lack of strong oder even after a few days. The open toe model would have been easier for doing lower leg hygeine.

Just the right amount of compression. Tight but not so tight that they hurt. What you want is support with comfort not to have your calves strangled. Who wants to be uncomfortable let alone in pain from overly tight comprehension socks.

Let your blood circulate and your leg breath while you benefit from compression support. That’s why these are the best compression socks on the market in my opinion.

These socks didn’t work for me at all. They’re VERY thick, to the point that they will make your shoes feel tight. Also, I bought the largest size I could find and it still took me several minutes to get them on my feet and legs.

I have average or even thinner than average legs so if you have average or even slightly chubby legs, forget trying to get these on, it’ll take forever. I wore them once to work and didn’t feel any support or comfort with them at all.

I have several items of copper wear and once you’ve worn items with actual copper in them you know the difference. In my opinion these socks were in no way helpful, not at $15, not at any price. I would not recommend them to anyone.

I needed short length from the floor to my knees, these are perfect for that. I needed a wide top band so they wouldn’t cause indentations, these were perfect for that as well. However my ankles and feet are not large.

These socks were made large from bottom to the top. Way too loose around my ankles and feet. Didn’t work well for compression.

Not enough info. At least give the circonference of the area(ex 10 inc) above the ankle (ex 12 inc). , as when you go to the dr. Then we can choose the SIZE. Now it is just guessing. Also classify the different types (like made in USA, in Singapore,in China.

They keep my husband’s feet and legs from swelling. The shorter socks aren’t nearly as effective. Recommend them highly. He also liked them as they came in a 2X size. They are currently out of that size but hope they will be in supply soon as he would like to order more.

These work great when they are new but deteriorate rapidly as they are used. They are easier to put on and have decent compression when new but they tend to unravel at the edges as they are used and do not hold up very well when laundered, In fact several pairs had the elastic separate from the sock.

I have gone through around 8 pairs in a year. When they unravel they tend to roll up at the lower edge creating the equivalent of an elastic band at the foot arch that becomes very uncomfortable and cuts off circulation at the foot surface.

They also tend to get holes in the bottoms when walking in them without shoes on soft carpet indoors. I would swear by them if they were made better and were more durable but instead I swear at them and toss them in the trash after a few months of wear.

There is another version of them sold by a company that has a lifetime warranty but the zippers on these are plastic and break easily so I don’t recommend them either. I have switched back to a good quality compression over the calf sock that is much more durable.

They are not that bad to put on once you get the hang of it and watch a few internet videos showing how. If someone ever comes out with a quality version of these I may switch back.

The Zip Sox is the greatest for comfort and so much easier to put on. My prescribled stockings were so tight even though I was measured for them. I have Arthritis in my feet and the stockings were so uncomfortable that I couldn’t stand the pain even though I had the toes out of them.

The cost was ridiculous for something that I can’t use. Then along came the Zip Sox as advertised on TV. Surely I could find them in a drugstore in our area. I was told that I could only order them online.

Then I remembered that Bed, Bath, and Beyond had items that was promoted over the TV. I called our store in Westminster and they had the Zip Soc. Since they were out of the Large/XLarge they were ordered for me.

I received them with in 4 days to my home. I found them so easy to put on and comfortable. The price was great too as I used a 20% off Bed, Bath and Beyon coupon. I really like them and ordered a pair for my friend.

I ordered a pair yesterday from a different retailer at $9. 99. I just ordered 6more at half the price. I drive for a living and my feet and ankles swell everyday. I have fluid on my lower body. Its been less then 24hours and I’ve worn them for 12-16 which included sleep time.

This morning I noticed the swelling has went down more then I expected. So far it’s a great product. Good investment health wise. Hopefully this company will come out with similar product the zips up to ur thighs.

I used to think of these kind of hose as something only the old grannies would wear. Seems that support hose have come a million miles since the old days. I have tried 5 different brands and, by far, these are the most elegant looking and fitting brand out there.

I bought the 20-22mmHg as a starter pair, not knowing which ones I really needed. For right now they are perfect, and much easier to put on than most medical grade support hose. My swollen ankles at the end of the day are no more!!! Yeah! Middle age and menopause can be an ugly thing (scowl) for some women’s legs.

I needed an elegant looking support hose that looked and felt as much as possible like regular nylons, so as not to look or feel older than I am. These were perfect! The only reason I gave a product rating of 4 is because (as is typical of support hose), the hose wrinkle up at the front of the ankle when you pull your foot upward, unlike lycra hose with much less support in them.

Unfrtunately those don’t help to prevent the ankle swelling, so I had to upgrade to these. As well, I wear a 7 1/2 shoe and find that I have JUST enough room for my small foot in these hose. I don’t like hose that are tight on my toes so it works great for me, but I don’t know how someone with a larger foot (over a size 9 maybe) could wear these comfortably.

Ordering a larger size means that the calf is also larger in size, not just the foot area.

I really like these they are much dressier than the other types of compression socks. They are like a mesh so are very nice. What I can’t figure out is why the tan ones are near doubled the price of the black ones.

I work as a RN and work 12 hour shifts. In order to prevent fatigue and my legs giving out on me we were advised to get compression socks. Only downfall is they say you can’t wash your socks in washing machines because they ruin them.

I found these and tried them on and was instantly impressed after my first 16 hour shift with no fatigue. The challenge then was how to wash them. (Working nights I did not have the time to hand wash all of my compression socks!) So I threw them in the washer.

I bought 2 pairs in October and am now ordering new sets, not to replace but just add more colors and pairs! The 2 I have still are in excellent condition still! I’m definitely impressed. They do sometimes make me hotter than normal if I’m running around in them but the support I get is worth a few hot spells!.

So glad I tried these compression stockings. They feel wonderful on and for the 1st time no cutting and binding at the knee. I paid a great deal more money for stocking that were killing me after a few hours around the knee area.

I put these on and wore them all day and no discomfort. Thankyou so much for such a wonderful product.

These compression socks helped reduce swelling in the ankles and lower legs all day. Don’t waste your time on compression socks with light compression if you have venous insufficiency. Get the ones with compression of 20 mm HG or more.

I needed the stockings for the compression. I love that they have the zipper for ease in putting them on. Very comfortable. The very best part of this though was I saw them on two different web sites and they were way more money.

Bed, Bath and Beyond only had the mens, but said they could order them for me, and they would be here in a few days. Came right away, and no charge for shipping. This was a great deal. I am going to order more.

Traverse not the quality of the original product before it was moved to. The USA And it went to junk Trying to pass it off as the Performance sports socks which were the best money could buy. I have NO trust in Sigvaris you can not tell which socks you get until you open the package and find out they are not what you wanted Then You Can Not Return Them Because They Have Been Opened.

The reason why I keep up with them is I have a blood pressure problem and was wearing Sigvaris performance socks 10 years ago they were grey with the metric size on the bottom along with sock size and witch leg they were made for.

The impressions the socks made had something to do with regulating blood flow. I Cant buy the Sigvaris performance socks any where the stores that once had them can no longer get them. They are not shipped to this country.

These are the worst compression socks I have ever had! I’m not sure what you changed on the Sigvaris, but they are nowhere near the pair I ordered a few years ago. They leave a deep ring around my leg at the top of the sock & when I got home one day the top part of my leg was swollen & the bottom part of my leg was fine, very scary! The other pair hardly goes up to the knee & slides down during the day so I continually have to pull them up so I no longer wear them.

The one pair already shows signs of wear. I paid a lot for the two pair – $ 127. 12 & NOT worth the money. The Sockwell’s are less expensive & better! I have had the Sigvaris before & really liked them! Not sure what you changed (cheaper made from the previous pair I have) but not for the better I can say that! I have ordered from Brightlife before & have always been satisfied, but won’t order again! It was like throwing $ 127.

This is my second order of Sigvaris. the first was 2018. I like the bold sporting motif and colors, the comfort and the quality. My first 4 pair have been standing up well to regular use and to date the only issue is one got snagged on something and has a hole in the sole.

I would recommend these to someone who appreciates comfort and wear ability. My first pair was at the urging of a friend who is a chiropractor, so I went to a local provider of medical aids and the only pair they had in the size and compression I needed was Pink.

The lady thought I would not wear that color. Not a problem. for years my socks were white sports socks for the comfort when on your feet all day. I’m enjoying the colorful foot wear.

I Love this product, I never thought that I would “love “compression socks as I have had numerous issues in the past. Given the great price of this product I decided to try compression socks one more time, and I’m glad that I did! My main concern with compression socks has always been that they have been too tight around my toes.

This would cause me to end up with an “ingrown” type toenail with redness, irritation, and small wounds on my toes from the socks crowding and pushing my toes together. With these socks from Vive, I have had zero problems with my toes and toenails.

The sock creates a great compression around my foot, but leaves a little more wiggle room around the toes, so this crowding does not occur. The level of compression in these is perfect for me, they are supportive of my feet and ankle without being too tight.

I have Reynauds Syndrome and POTS, and have found these socks really help with the venous blood pooling in my legs, and other related symptoms. These socks come in multiple colours, and do not look like a “medical” product.

As a young adult, the aesthetics of the products I use are important to me as well. I plan to purchase another pair, and a few pairs for my mother who has just undergone back surgery and has to spend a lot of time sitting down or laying down.

I like the amount of compression they provide. However as a petite woman the length is a problem as I have to fold down the tops and be careful not to stretch them too much when putting them on. Like pretty every compression sock I’ve tried, they’re a bit difficult to get on and off.

However, I’ve noticed that they don’t seem to dry my skin the way other compression socks do. They help with arthritis in my feet and leg cramps I tend to get if I’m on my feet too long as well as with the medication induced swelling.

I ordered the teal with black in size small/medium, I was a little worried based upon prior reviews if they’d fit me or not but they fit me perfectly which made me soooo happy! 🥰 I wondered if the colors would be accurate once it arrived because it was too good to be true that I found these socks in my favorite color, but they look exactly like the picture!! 😍 I’m absolutely in love with them, and not only did I get so many compliments from the surgical and nursing staff but these socks make me happy to see them and my journey a little bit easier.

I had this sock on my left leg, which has significantly worse venous insufficiency than my right leg, for about nine hours. It felt fairly comfortable for most of that time, although I would have preferred an open-toed anklet style (which I couldn’t find in your listings) to the open-toed knee-highs that I wound up ordering.

Since I apparently have thicker than average calves, the upper calf portion of the size large sock began to feel constrictingly tight after eight or nine hours. This has also happened in the past when I tried wearing other types of knee-high compression socks, which is why I prefer anklets.

The lower portion of the sock still felt reasonably okay even after the top section began to feel uncomfortably tight. For what it’s worth, I didn’t notice the apparent increased tightness of the sock while I was sitting.

However, due to the discomfort I experienced in my upper calf after wearing the sock for a fairly prolonged period, if I could, I would actually be more inclined to give it three and a half stars rather than four, since it’s not exactly ideal to feel a sudden urgent need to remove the sock after nine hours.

I would have loved these if I could have gotten them in a “short” – the size I needed was only available in the unisex/standard length. The fit was great otherwise – ordered a wide calf even though the sizing would have me in a standard calf.

I have worn compression stockings for 27 years, and Jobst is now my preferred brand. The main reason for this is the foot bed portion of the stocking – it has good compression around the arch and into the ankle.

In addition (with the open toe variety) the foot bed is longer than other brands and stays where it belongs, ending right where my toes begin. The other brands have short foot beds and end up all bunched up at the arch, with practically no compression until you get above the ankle (which is contraindicated for folks with venous stasis.

I ordered the stockings for my wife–too much fluid gathering in her ankles. I started with a pair of the small size. Very painful for her and difficult to get them on. So I assumed that the large would be OK, and ordered two pair.

I was disappointed that this size was also too tight, and was uncomfortable for her. I would like to return the three pair I have purchased–can’t find your shipping info. Please advise me as to how to proceed.

These are VERY comfortable socks. I thought nylon would be too hot, but I was wrong. The weave of the fabric is very nice and has tiny little holes that let air pass through. I was very pleased with these socks! I am on the border between needing wide calf or regular calf.

This time I opted for wide calf and it was a bit too wide, but still works good. These do not bother me or cause pain after wearing for 12 hour shifts. On two different days, I wore them all the way to bedtime without taking them off.

I actually forgot I had them on, they were that comfortable. I really like Brigfht Life direct. These Allegro socks are of high quality and are at such affordable prices. They are great!.

No, I do not like them! I have bought your Allegro stockings for years and always ordered the nice Knee high, dress, nylon stockings. I ordered awhile ago and couldn’t exactly find mine and tried to get similar ones.

I received them and they were too thick and hot and like wool. I wanted the nice thin nylon. So I reordered in May again and specifically chose the nylon and they are the same ones as my previous order.

My husband has only worn compression socks from BrightLife Direct. They are REASONABLE and fit his Size 12 feet comfortably! I’ve purchased knee high support hose in the past and liked them. This is the first thigh high stockings I have bought. I wanted to wear them on our 5 hour flight to CA. There were no closed toe so I opted for open toe.

The material crept up on my foot so I sewed the opening smaller. This worked for the plane but it is not comfortable for walking. The stockings did not stay up on my thighs although they did better if they had just been washed.

I was sent a bottle of liquid adhesive and will try that next time I wear the stockings. I did not get any blood clots so I’m thinking the compression of the hose was very helpful. If I order them again I would definitely order closed toe.

You know, I must’ve tried 6 different brands, some from here, some from Amazon, trying to find a decent but inexpensive pair of knee-high compression stockings. Nothing fit right. Everything I tried pinched somewhere (one, despite my measurements being well within the range, cut off circulation).

I’ve had treatment on my leg (and it’s still healing), so I need something I can wear all day. So, out of desperation, I did the little “enter your measurements” quiz on the front page and found these.

It’s a brand I’d never heard of. Figured, what the heck, I’ve tried everything else but the really expensive brands. Turns out, these were perfect. So comfortable I forget it’s on and good support. Plus, they are luxuriously soft.

Medi has been my go to brand for some time as my favorite hosiery line is the Comfort line. They are smooth and comfortable and hold up very well. However the DuoMed line has been changing my opinion.

They are a bit less expensive than the Comfort line and have a little less to choose from regarding sizes, but they are equally as comfortable and have become another go to compression hosiery line I’m now wearing regularly.

Give them a try and you won’t be disappointed. They are MUCH better quality than the Assure economy line that Medi has made for years.

I used these during pregnancy. I have tendencies to get varicose veins. These worked so much better than the super tight thigh high socks my doctor prescribed. I could only wear those a couple hours at a time and with no zippers they were hard for me to get on and off on my own.

I am actually able to get these on and they are pretty comfortable for most of the day. I take them off in the evenings, but my legs and feet haven gotten swollen while wearing these. Ive had them only a few days but so far they have held up well.

I’m a senior citizen (81) the zipper makes the socks much easier to get on. Also unfortunately I have issues with varicose veins and my legs from knee to ankle are very sore at times. These socks help to ease the pain and swelling.

I need compression socks, as prescribed by my doctor. I ordered 3 pairs of these, and they arrived tonight. First impression was that they were very thin and not of a quality I’m used to. I just adjusted the sock on my left leg and my finger went right through it! These are not worth buying!.

As cute as these are to look at there is absolutely NO compression in these. I have several REAL compression socks and this is not it. These don’t even have the firm hold of a good sock. These are a little thicker than pantyhose but no compression what so ever.

Also for the price I can find cuter socks. If you are looking for compression socks do not buy these.

Stylish with Light/Mild Compression. I have purchased all 4 designs and use them all. These are half the price of what it sells for on the large selling company. Price is excellent when on sale!

I had surgery just now August 17 and needed to use compression socks during surgery and after during my recovery (15 days) … i bought two pairs. I used these socks none stop and let me tell you. they were wonderful! Super comfortable and since I am always chilly they were great because they kept me warm in the ac cooled rooms.

I have been wearing compression socks for several years and have tried over a dozen different brands and types. Recently I ordered a pair of Dr. Comforts and was extremely pleased with them. They are easily the most comfortable and well built compression socks I own.

I have since ordered several more pair in 4 different colors. After washing the socks look and feel even better and I think they will keep their shape and elasticity for a good while. I recommend these socks to anyone looking for the best compression sock on the market.

Vericose veins in lower right leg. Didn’t notice til the doctor asked “do your legs feel weak”. Once I got these, I DO notice a better feel in my leg. Waiting to go back to the doctor to get checked up for the next phase, which is to actually “treat” the vericose problem.

But, these “socks” have helped. Took forever for them to arrive, though. Should’ve just purchased from an actual store instead of online.

I have tried over-the-calf socks before and they only lasted about a week or two. These socks are well made and greatly help the swelling in my legs and feet. My feet were normally ice cold at the end of the day but these socks are warm and help my circulation.

I thought the fit was a little tight until I got them on and then they felt very comfortable. The color matches my normal socks so you can’t tell you are wearing compression socks. The quality of the socks are made better than other brands I’ve tried.

I would highly recommend these socks if you had problems with your legs and feet.

I ordered a pair of white compression socks to wear after my ankle surgery to remove a soft tissue mass and have been extremely satisfied with them. Initially they were a little difficult to put on but that is probably the case with any brand of compression socks.

The socks are comfortable to wear and definitely do reduce the swelling in the foot and ankle and would highly recommend these socks. The compression level I purchased was 15-20. I will definitely wear these on long flights to help prevent swelling and provide overall comfort.

These socks appeared to do their job; but they were simply too small and too difficult to put on. The XL size was supposed to accommodate my wide, size 13 foot. It was VERY difficult to put on because both the expandable top on the calf and the entire foot portion of the sock were too small and didn’t expand enough.

My foot was toe-curling tight—both length and width— and the expandable top of the calf portion left a ring indentation like a tourniquet. I’ve worn other brands of compression socks and this pair was the tightest and most uncomfortable by far.

I purchased 3 different brands/kinds of compression socks, because I didn’t know anything about any of them, and I figured it would be wisest to buy several different ones and see which was best. I was shocked to see that the one real brand-name among the 3 (Healthy Steps) was not only the worst one, but was so bad that I have to return it.

These socks were almost impossible to get on my feet, because of how super-elastic (stretchy) they are. With the other two products, pulling up on the top half of the sock will wind up pulling the part that covers the front half of the foot, so that front-most part will get up to and around the toes, and the “heel” of the sock will get around your heel.

Not these! Pulling in the middle of the sock does not result in the front-most part getting pulled over the toes; it stays as a floppy hangover piece that isn’t around anything. I had to take a long time and do a lot of work, breaking into a sweat, before I was able to get the socks all the way on.

And even then there was another deficiency: pulling upward with the top of the sock did not remove the wrinkles that unavoidably form around the ankles. (With the other two products, pulling on the top of the sock DID remove any wrinkles.

) DO NOT BUY THESE SOCKS!.

I am a long time diabetic with severe neuropathy and edema issues and have tried many many compression sox. These are the best! Hold up to repeated washing and don’t lose elasticity or compression. The foot is not compression which is more comfortable and was solution to infections and wounds caused when previous sox squeezed toes together too tightly! My doctor wanted item # and is recommending to her patients.

Price also very reasonable.

I have edema, like many older men that worked on their feet for years. As a former chef who did spend do much time on his feet I wish I would have found these compression socks earlier in my career. They are machine washable and durable with accurate sizing, not always the case with many other brands on the market.

The reinforced tops are nice helps to put them on and they don’t roll over like others.

I have quite muscly calves for a lady so normal compression socks dig in. These are a great fit while also being a roomy but not too long fit in the foot area (woman’s size 9). My legs feel so much better at the end of the day when I wear them.

These compression socks are okay. They are not as comfortable in my opinion as other brands like ones from Cherokee. They aaaalmost go to the knee (I’m a female, 5’6, 135 lbs for reference) and I think my calves are roughly average size.

That being said, they’d be more comfortable if the material had a bit more elastic stretch or give, and if they were about 1 inch longer on the leg. They’re okay, but you can find better at a similar price.

Out of 4 brands, this is my grandma’s favorite. They aren’t super tight but still provide enough compression to help keep down the swelling. She also says the material is soft.

These socks were one of two pairs of knee highs I tried from Comrad. They were the more iffy option for me when I laced the order bc of the nylon content, which typically causes feet to sweat. I travelled in them internationally for 11 hours at a stretch and there were absolutely no sweaty feet, no feeling of getting overheated, and no swollen feet either! They worked really well at their task of improving circulation.

On my last such trip, at age 42 and 99lbs, I was surprised to see my ankles and feet puff up by the end of my journey, so that my shoes hardly fit. This time, none of that discomfort, no feeling of restless legs, nada.

Plus, they don’t feel tight when you put them on. They feel well-fitted, rather than suffocating. I’m really happy.

I was gifted a pair of these compression socks from a dear patient/friend. What a gift! I work long days and occasionally have achy legs at the end of my day. Within minutes of wearing these compression socks, my achy symptoms disappear! I didn’t realize how distracting and draining that symptom made me feel.

Now that I have these socks, I immediately put them on when I get home, and my energy/comfort greatly increase! I am so thankful for these socks and the lovely people that gifted them. I will definitely return the favor and gift to family and friends…and of course, I will need to add to my collection too!.

I purchased these after my doctor recommended compression socks to help ease leg pain and weakness during my third trimester of pregnancy. They have really made a difference! I wish I had gotten them sooner.

I have thick calves, and the wide sizing fits great. They are actually really comfortable. My only complaint would be that some of the colors/patterns fit a little differently. I have another striped pair that doesn’t go up as high as this pair, so it isn’t quite as good of a fit.

But overall the quality is great, and the socks are quite cute.
