20 Best Snowmobile Helmet For Glasses (2023 Updated)

I have a hard time finding a helmet that will fit my head shape. I am somewhere in between an intermediate and long oval so finding a helmet is a challenge. I’m also right on the line between large and x-large.

I went to my local shop and tried on just about every helmet that had and the CS-R3 fit fairly well. Needless to say the parts guy was not much help with getting me what I wanted so I walked out the door.

I did not want to buy any other helmet they were trying to push on me. I ended up ordering the helmet from Revzilla in a large and it arrived within a few days. It fit good but felt a little tight so I wore it around the house for an hour and figured I would take it for a ride the next morning.

After a 40 mile ride I had the typical pressure point pain in my forehead. I then went on a 200 mile ride several days later and the pain was there most of the ride. I decided to try a different liner so I ordered the x-large helmet liner from Revzilla and I swapped it out right away when it arrived.

Now the fit of the helmet is awesome, still has a bit of wind noise but it fits me so much better. No more forehead pain. I have done around 5-6 rides with it like this and I am now comfortable. Not sure how many of you have the same issue I do when helmet shopping and I’m hoping this may help if you do.

I bought 2 of these. L and M. Both fit well. Subtle size difference. I can wear either and the both fit well. My wife wears the M. Same shell size. All the parts are interchangeable. It’s a great value flip up with a good wide lens.

I ride all summer with it on a motorcycle and look forward to trying it in the winter. I bought a heated visor and will switch to that for the winter. Only cons so far, slightly more ventilation could have been added, the breath box nose piece could use more adjustment, and so I removed mine for the summer,.

I had a BV2S so I am used to a pretty amazing breath box system.

I cannot believe how light this helmet it. Amazing comfort. I run hot and this has vents for days. Keeps me cool and comfortable. Wish I would have just bought this helmet right outta the gate.

New helmet fits perfectly and absolutely LOVE the Fidlock system. On/off with gloves on is a breeze.

I really like this helmet, regardless of price. It fits my head well and is pretty light in my opinion. I got the helmet just before a week-long dual sport trip and immediately put it to use for 8?10-hour days of riding on and off-road.

No hot spots or any discomforts, pretty much forgot all about the helmet. Field of vision through the eye port is excellent. The face shield is very clear optically when closed. When you crack the face shield anywhere between fully open or closed though, your vision will be impaired.

Venting seems pretty good, though I haven’t worn it during heat waves yet. There is a channel for the earpieces of sunglasses/eyeglasses which worked really well for me. Again, no hot spots noticed with sunglasses.

Fogging was a bit of an issue at times, but nothing worse than any other helmet I’ve worn. I did order a pinlock to try out though for future fog-likely situations. Helmet was generally stable at speed.

The visor would sometimes ‘vibrate’ under certain speed/wind conditions. The noise level of the helmet seemed ok considering the type of helmet it is. I use this helmet with my smaller dual sport though, so I’m not riding at high speeds or long distances on pavement.

The visor should have a bit longer adjustment slot so you could lower it a tad. I’m planning to drill a hole just past the current slot to lower the visor. Or lengthen the slot with a Dremel. I have not tried to wear goggles or fit any comm devices to the helmet.

Overall, I would definitely but the DS-X1 again, and would not hesitate to recommend it to others.

I bought this DS-X1 in medium along with the Pinlock visor (many reviews stated fogging issues) and it arrived quickly. I measured my head before ordering and the medium was tight but not unbearably so.

The comfort is OK, not as good as the two Scorpion helmets I have owned in the last 5 years. The neck strap seems to be closer to my neck than previous helmets so you can’t do it up too snugly without choking yourself.

The visor is very clear optically but fogs up worse than any helmet I have ever had. First ride was without it and every stop, I had to open the visor. This was in 13-15 degree dry weather. For my next ride I installed the Pinlock and it works well.

It still fogs up on the other areas of the visor, but out of your sightline. The visor also is too stiff to open when in the closed position. After opening the visor, I have to adjust my helmet back down onto my head.

The last negative point is no sun visor – I knew this going in, but having to squeeze sunglasses in and not having the option of instant sunshade or not, made me realize this helmet is not for me. I bought this helmet because I wanted something that would be good offroad and so I didn’t abuse my Scorpion AT950 too much with dust clogging up the hinges which may be fine, but I really should have just bought another Scorpion AT950 and keep my older one for offroad.

The modular feature of the Scorpion seals the deal.

Although I have not been able to ride with this helmet yet, there are two things you should know. Number one is the sizing is way off in my experience. I have a solidly size medium head, 22 1/2 inches, But I have been using an older HJC helmet that is large and fits me well.

So I ordered the large in this helmet, and it was way too tight. Customer service handled the exchange easily, and now I have an XL size, which fits snugly. So it’s not just one Size off but two. The other thing is, the adjustability on the visor is no good in my opinion.

The farthest down and forward position is just barely visible in front of the edge of the helmet. The visor is not doing anybody any good, unless you can see a decent portion of the underside of the visor.

That’s the only way it’s going to help block sunlight and therefore glare in your vision. I am astounded how many helmets are made this way, including for Mountain bikes. I am going to have to modify this adjustment tab, to give it more forward and downward range.

Lastly, I first ordered the anthracite color, which I loved in the photographs, because it appears as a blue gray. Honestly it’s pretty much straight up gray, any trace of blue is very hard to notice.

So when I re-ordered the extra large, I decided to go with silver instead, which should be more visible to drivers, and a little cooler in the sun.

I recently bought my first bike (WR250R) and so this helmet is also my first helmet buying experience. I ordered both the BELL and HJC helmets to try on and test, but chose the HJC because it offered everything the BELL did aside from the MIPS technology for $50 less.

Additionally the HJC has much better venting, and it just fit better. I like that it has face shield replacement options cheaper than the BELL, and it doesn’t look as huge as the BELL, and is lighter weight.

After 100+ miles I’m really happy with it, sound insulation seems to be fine. Anti fog lens works good.

I have had several HJC helmets and decided I would buy this helmet now adventure riding. sizing is accurate, measure your head as shown in guide. I fit medium. On first putting on helmet it will feel tight so just wear it taking on and off.

The peak works fine , suggest move it down far as it goes and lock the nut tight. Good ventilation , good fit if you wear glasses, and with visor down great peripheral vision. Noise will depend if it’s windy but I always wear ear protection , so acceptable.

Recommend by given features and price.

First new helmet in 18 years. Had to size up to a medium (wasn’t used to the cushion support in the newer helmets). Very comfortable helmet. Ride in weather -10 to 25 degrees Fahrenheit and stay warm.

The modular design is great and the heated screen makes a big difference in cold weather. Only complaint is the tinted screen fogs up when it is up for a period of time, making it difficult to see through when needed.

This helmet is great! I would recommend it to anyone.

Great Helmet, and very comfortable, has a smokey color visor and I have had no problem using it on night ride! Light and fits my head very well!

The only bad thing about helmet is the foam on the nose piece is glued so lightly that after a couple of uses it came apart had to re glue it and now it’s stiff and uncomfortable.

The shield came all foggy and scratched. The helmet is great, fits well and breathes well. I’ve had compliments on it.

Been useing for a couple of weeks and this is my first full face. It’s taking some getting use to but it’s coming. Noise level is lower but of course I have been a half head, and still am, fan for years.

Got this for the colder or rainy days. Helmet is a bit heavy and hot on the bright sunny days. I am finding ventilation is really lacking. Lens fogging is a big problem so I got a anti-fog pin-lock lens for it.

Highly recommend it. Helmet as others have said fits small. Ordering a size bigger is a must. I am a glasses wearer and this helmet has a channel for the arms. Nice touch. I do find the brim of the helmet sometimes pushes down on my glasses.

The only other issue I can really find is the drop down sun lens touches my nose, but maybe I have a fat nose. In conclusion, for the price it’s a good helmet and does the job it’s needed for, for me.

I bought this to replace my last helmet. It is a great helmet. It is very comfortable and has a nice wide field of vision. The modular design makes it easy to put on and take off, adjust my glasses and breath when stopped on hot days.

The wind curtain helps cut down wind noise and the venting makes it stay cool while riding. The cut outs for comms systems made putting the Pack talk in easy. The tinted shade comes down far enough to provide very nice sun protection.

The only thing I would like to see, is a version of this same helmet with a visor mounted like on a duals sport helmet.

Sizing is weird. I measured at the lower end (60cm) for the size range (60-62) and the helmet was tight. It eased up fairly quickly to become very comfy/ snug. Not sure how any one with a larger bonce would get it on/ get on with it.

It would have to compress a lot more for a 2cm difference. The cheek pads also stop my microphone working as well as before, but as I mostly ride solo, not a problem. The microphone is the “Uclear system” so the mike is at the front edge of the speakers- i.

e. not conventional. There is a groove in the helmet for a standard boom mike. Good helmet, a bit noisy at speed but very pleased overall.

This is the best cold weather helmet i’ve ever owned as it is very warm. I rode a 10f day yesterday with no balaclava and was quite confortable. I also usually ride with ear plugs but the built in noise control in the Oxygen helmet really works so i no longer need them.

I don’t wear glasses so i can’t speak to fogging. I am full of hot air and the heated shield kept things nice and clear despite minimal ventilation in this helmet or so it seems as it is so warm. Now for the biggest advantage over others i’ve worn.

visibiity! This helmet allows for far better visibilty than any other helmet i have by a long shot. Lastly it is very light and did not leave me with a stiff neck at the end of the day. After proof reading this it almost sounds like a paid advertisement but i’m just a guy who loves Snowmobiling and who started riding 36 years ago in a KMart Helmet and can now really appreciate quality.

I’m sure come warm spring riding i’ll be using my old helmet and ear plugs again. Almost forgot. the tinted shield. very easy to raise and lower with gloves on and does help but not dark enough for bright sun.

I have only used twice on full day rides The visor gives a much large viewing area than my other helmets. Very comfortable fit. sizes run a bit larger than brands. the long power cord allows it to stay away from my arm movements.

My previous helmets were fully modular, so it takes a little bit of getting use to not being able to fully raise the full front of this helmet.

Quiet, no wind intrusion. Crystal clear shield. Fits a little more snuggly than previous helmets.

I bought this helmet for the two visor system. It performs very well and is so convenient no changing visors or helmets from early morning or night to daytime riding. I wear prescription glasses with no problem under either one.

I ride a cruiser with head in the wind and helmet performs well with very little lift. However I did remove the visor. Didn’t like the look plus felt it added slightly to lift. Only issue with that is a small hole in center but not a deal breaker and think I’ll eventually find something to cap it off with.

Low profile probably about as little mushroom head as you can get with DOT. Protection wise I don’t think there is much on top of the head due to trying to make it low profile, so it’s a trade off. Front of helmet extends a little bit farther than others due to extra room for the second visor.

But not enough to look out of proportion and having both visors in one helmet is awesome. I can’t believe others haven’t done it. Fits true to size for me according to chart XS 21. 5 in. Definitely recommend this helmet.

Sits low so it looks really nice. Visor gives extra protection for your eyes. I wear sunglasses all the time when sunny outside and it works just fine over my glasses. It’s loud at high speeds but that’s expected, it’s a half helmet people.

Keep in mind this model fits people with round/round oval head shape, so for me it is perfect fit. Awesome experience dealing with revzilla. Thanks guys!.

I have always worn a beanie helmet because I don’t want my hearing blocked. Took a 300 mile ride using the shields over my sunglasses – it blocked a bit more wind than the glasses alone. The “ear” protectors velcro onto the side straps and may be useful in cold weather riding.

Only thing that would make it better is a quick release (which I added) and having the DOT marker on the back being a sticker like the AFX one so you can remove it. Will have it painted this Fall to add the design I want.

I think these helmets function easy and look good. I started off by installing the battery pack and rear light kit. It worked good for me. The extra light made me more visible from the back. The whole thing was easy to put in.

I ride a 2008 Harley Fat Bob. I figured it would be pretty cool to make the light brighten when I stepped on the brake. I mounted the transmitter under the fender and spliced it with the brake power.

Works like a charm and I’ve been using it since 2015. I’ve been caught out in the rain a few times and it hasn’t caused any problems. The only thing you have to remember is changing the battery out for the helmet light.

A small function this has that makes all the difference in the world is the small snap to hold the tail of the chin strap and keep it from beating you to death while riding. I am switching the inner shield to a yellow lens.

Daylight, I’ll wear tinted ballistic sunglasses under the clear shield. Yes, the shield will be down. In low light, I’ll use the yellow tint inner shield instead of having to ride with just the clear shield down.

That would feel strange. Once the jaw piece is clicked into place, I have never had mine come open on it’s own. There isn’t a reason to pay ridiculous prices for a different helmet.

I have owned the snowmobile version of this helmet for several years. I liked the features and the price point of the helmet so I just recently bought the motorcycle version. Again great features and price point of the quality isn’t the best.

Literally the first time I used it one of the vent covers on the chin bar popped off. Luckily I caught it in my hand and was able to put it back on. It has since popped off again. The same thing happened on my snowmobile helmet.

Unfortunately I wasn’t able to find that cover in the snow so I had to close off the vent with a small piece of electrical tape. It’s too bad the quality of this helmet isn’t better because it offers a lot of features.

I guess this is the quality of a $120 helmet.

I just got this helmet today. It fits well, the vents work well, as do the rear lights, shield and inner shield. The helmet looks great; not garish and loud, but not plain. It is true to size. My one minor complaint, the battery hatch for the rear LED is hard to open.

The helmet comes with 2 AAA batteries; I didn’t see this detail listed. I think the G45S is a good helmet; I got mine for less then $100- easily worth it.

Bought for kids, fits great, comfortable and seals good, would buy again ! Fast shipping also !
