Funny story. My daughter and her family moved from Charlotte, NC to Salt Lake City. Her son ( my grandson) needed a sled. I ordered it. It was sent from Charlotte, NC!!! The very place they had just moved from.

we are buying these for our great grand children as we did for our grandchildren and our children we understand that vendors can not get these in but fortunately a hardware store in king, nc did have access to them hope the sleds will be available in the next couple of years cause we have 2 more great grand children being born in 2023 merry christmas and happy new year, claude and lee ann.

Worth the extra cost! It was so cool to see that Pelican makes sleds too. But: – Would love to have given it all the stars – but the rope supplied was just a bit small to go through the provided holes.
On the bright side, I had no problem drilling the holes out a bit bigger; when I noticed how much rope was supplied, I added four more holes in strategic places for more hand-holds. Still left a good amount of rope for pulling the sled, – The supplied rope was stuck to the sled in a plastic bag; the adhesive required “sticky substance remover.
” A better adhesive would have been simpler for the end user.
Excellent quality little sled for the kids. The best thing about it is that it stays straight when going down the hill. It’s also lightweight for the kids to pull it back up and it comes with a good rope and good handles.
Its also nice and deep so the little ones have a nice back rest. I’ve had two of them for about 6 years now and they’ve lasted very well compared to some previous sleds I had which wore holes in the bottoms easily.
It’s a little expensive but I’m this case you get what you pay for.
We bought this to pull our kids around and to go tobogganing. It’s a lot better quality than the cheaper sleds and tracks straight. I wouldn’t recommend for ice fishing where you would need a longer sled, but it would be great for hauling fire wood or just general use too.
It tracks nice and straight and the kids seem to really enjoy it. The adhesive leftover for the bag containing the rope can be easily removed with goo gone or any other citrus cleaner in about 30 seconds with next to no effort.

We bought two, put them together with big red bows on them, and placed them next to our tree the night before Christmas. You should have seen their eyes. They nearly jumped out of their heads. The kids were over the moon and let me tell you, they looked so impressive.
Like another reviewer here, we did have a bit of trouble putting them together. The holes didn’t line up, we had to drill, and then we had to cap the exposed bolts. Same exact thing. Regardless, we made it work and once together, it is very sturdy.
This sled is nice, and seems to be well-built. However, it does not go as fast as one would imagine. In fact, I’m pretty sure it’s not faster than a regular sled, so for the money, I’m not sure it’s worth it.
They are expensive and bulky to haul anywhere when compared to a snow boogie or saucer. Overall, my kids enjoy them–they do like that a couple of them can easily fit so they can go together. And when they go to the sledding hill, all the other kids are intrigued by these sleds!.
Good thing my husband can assemble most things without directions. I probably would have been days putting this thing together. As it was, he made a mistake that had to be corrected after I used the sled.
I did have fun riding it and the brakes did work in relatively deep snow. I have not tried it in very deep snow nor in shallow snow.
Bought it this week and it was different than pictured. Contacted rei and it seems as if the parent company now uses a different place to make the sled. Rei updated their specs and description following my call but have not updated the photo yet or the name of the sled.
It does not state Paris company anywhere on the sled. I can not recommend this as it has not been used yet. But it is not the item pictured. And doesn’t appear to be as thick.

Not going to lie, it hasn’t snowed yet in my state for me to use this. However, I will say the design is amazing, and I love the Superman look. The sled seems to be very well made. It tolerated my kids dragging each other through the house on it just fine.
I have no doubt that it will survive through the snow also. I also love the size, as it doesn’t take up too much room, so you could throw it in your trunk and go somewhere to sled very easily. This is big enough for an adult if desired, which is great.

Bought it for my mother. She loves Crazy Carpet-style sleds because she can lay down on them, but the Crazy Carpets always end up sliding away. This, having no back support, allows her to lay down, while staying ridgid enough to stay the course.
It’s her new favorite sled ! Not as confortable if you wanted to sit though, so you need to know your prefered style before ordering !.
the youngster plowed into a tree midwinter last year. The crash left a weak spot (in the sled, not the kid. Her weak spot healed) which broke open this past week in the cold. Going to get another one (sled, that is.
