20 Best Sneakers For Shin Splints (2023 Updated)

Unfortunately my trainers didn’t fit. Good width across toes, too wide over-rest of foot. Also too short. Fabric tops are a cheap poor quality. Soles seem to be durable. My major problem is that it’s impossible to return the trainers.

Fitville admitted that it’s expensive to return to their distributor in Germany and offered me a refund of £50 instead, and that I keep the trainers. This is a thoughtful gesture, however I would have preferred a full refund or trainers that actually fit, but I’m not prepared to try another size and having the same returns problem.

This company needs to sort out their returns issues before they are real contenders in the trainer market!.

Size 9. 5 U. K. 4E wide, high top rebound, ankle support is good for me. I have struggled with arthritic feet and walking was extremely difficult but now I walk our dog and I can walk 3 miles before the dog gets tired.

However I also ordered the same size rebound without the high top and they are slightly tight on the width, the soles are exactly the same size.

I have many of the OrthoFeet styles but the Francis No-Tie is absolutely the best for bunions and/or wide feet! The no-tie laces hold the shoe securely around the mid-foot while leaving the toe box area roomy.

The Francis is the most comfortable shoe I have ever owned! This style is also perfect for golfing! I purchased the Black color and I will be purchasing the Blue color as well!.

I really needed a shoe that I could just slip into. I was very skeptical about how well these shoes would work for that. I was so thrilled to find that they work like a charm. And. of course they are amazingly comfortable as with all OrthoFeet shoes! I’m so glad I tried them!.

My Francis No-Tie shoes in black helps me to take long walks to enjoy the fall colors despite bunions and swollen feet. I love these extremely comfortable and stretchy shoes!

I was skeptical of ordering these shoes at first because I do have continual back pain, but not foot pain and I also have a narrow foot not wide. I was pleasantly surprised to see how well the size medium shoes fit me.

For the first week I walked around my house with them on to give myself time to get use to them in the comfort of my home. They do elevate my arch more than I am use to, but I believe this to be a good thing! I live in flip flops so my feet are constantly flat and causing me severe back pain.

Once I started wearing these shoes out I was hooked! When I went back to my flip flops I instantly had back pain again. I absolutely am sold on this company! I love the fact that they are made here in America as I believe it’s so important to support our local economy.

I was drawn to the fact that the shoes are very stylish since I am 42 years young and desire a functional esthetically pleasing shoe. i am looking forward to purchasing my next shoe with Kuru and it will definitely be a flip flop!.

I was walking 8km on the daily, plus what I did just around the house. My fire was really painful and limited my walks to barely 0. 5km. With my recent Morton’s Neuroma diagnosis, I knew I needed proper foot wear.

I googled shoes specific for my diagnosis and was brought to the Kuru site. I found a pair I liked but hesitated on the price. My wonderful mom said she’d buy them and so I gladly accepted. To wear them around the house while breaking them in was wonderful! So much so, that I feared wearing them out because then I won’t have indoor shoes! This past weekend I finally wore them to the park with my kids.

They are oh so comfy and stylish. I want/need to get another pair for indoors and for outdoor summer weather. Kuru is great in that they make a variety of styles, one (or two or three) to suit even the pickiest of consumers.

My hesitation on ordering more, like I’ve said before, is the price. If they were more affordable, my rating would be 5 out of 5.

This is my second purchase of Kuru’s Atom style within a month. I had a great toe fusion in my right foot almost a year ago and left foot Achilles tendonitis with calcification at the insertion site and bone spurs.

Walking was extremely painful even with high end athletic shoes, ice, heat, and medication. I stumbled upon the Kuru site; this style has completely changed my life. It offers amazing cushioning, support, holds my heel in place and is high enough in the back to not cause pressure on my tendon; the mesh in front allows for the extra room I need.

In my opinion runs true to size with a wide toe box. I did not need a break in period. As a nurse and gym member, I am now able to participate in activities I enjoy, pain free!.

Bought these for the style, returned them for the horrible fit. Let me preface this review by saying I’ve been a Brooks fan for ~4 years and have cycled through the Dyad 10s, the Ghost 12s, and two (2) pairs of Launch 5s.

This is the first time I’ve ever had anythng negative to say about a pair of Brooks shoes, and it really comes down to the horrid lacing system (or lack thereof). Buyer beware, you CANNOT tighten this shoe.

The lacing structure is deisgned such that the sock-like upper and elastic laces are meant to secure your foot, and I found it didn’t even come close. I trialed them Day 1 on a 2-miler and noticed an overall slop as compared to my other shoes with traditional lacing systems and a heel-lock setup.

3 days later I took them on a 3-mile club run, and that was enough to bench them for almost 2 months. In late Sept I gave them one last chance on an 8-mile club run and had severe tightness in both calves for weeks afterward.

Given the inability to immobilize the foot inside the shoe, I felt there was way too much work being done by the foot itself to stabilize, which inevitably transferred up the leg creating just an overall discomfort.

Add to that a general lack of energy return (despite the website description) and these quickly fell out of rotation in favor of Hokas and Nikes with literally hundreds of miles on them. Overall disappointed with the shoe itself, but Brooks obliged me with a full return.

Win some lose some, but I will always have a pair of their shoes somewhere in my training cycle.

These are the PERFECT running shoe. Don’t let the other reviews put you off, I read them and nearly didn’t make a purchase, but I’m so glad that I did. I was worried these wouldn’t be as good as my original Bedlams.

but my worry was misplaced as these are far superior!! Firstly, when I buy new running trainers it usually takes a few runs to break them in, I get a few blisters etc. But with these beauties I didn’t get any of that; from first run they were ultra comfortable and gave me no grief whatsoever.

they immediately felt spot on. Now I know some reviewers have said that these trainers are too narrow and I will admit, if you have a very wide foot these may not be the trainer for you. However I’ve found them to be just right for my standard feet; plenty of room for my feet to expand after a few miles, not so tight they numb my feet, don’t cause any pressure etc.

Also the sown in tongue is something I don’t mind but I can see why some people wouldn’t like it, it makes the shoes tight to get on. But once on, these shoes fit like a glove! What I also love about these trainers is that I’ve always struggled with knee issues when I run, but since wearing these I’ve noticed this problem becoming less and less.

They really do provide the support and stability that I need need running as I don’t have a standard gait and tend to run on the outside of my foot. Thesw trainers are springy without being overly springy, they provide the right amount of ‘bounce’ when running to make them feel comfortable but so I can also ‘feel’ the road too.

Also the sizing is spot on. I’m a UK 5 and decided to opt for a 5. 5 to allow for expansion. This was a good call as they’re very comfy when worn. The only thing thing would say is that these are very much road running trainers or for use on a treadmill.

They’re in no way ideal for trail running or even on slippy/muddy/wet surfaces. The grip is pretty shocking, but as long as you’re aware then you’ll be fine!.

Much tighter fit overall than any other Brooks shoes I’ve worn previously, including the Ravenna 7s and the Adrenaline GTS 17s. I usually wear a size 10 in Brooks, which was the same for these shoes, but the fit is really snug.

I ran after it rained and there’s no grip on the road — felt like I could slip at any moment so I had to be really, really careful (side note: I’d spray a waterproof solution on these before wearing them because they get soaked easily with their very thin material).

This was upsetting because they’re advertised as road-running shoes. The ankle GuideRails take time to break in and were not comfortable at all until my fourth or fifth wear. Even then, the ankle supports don’t really help with my overpronation, which is why I bought these shoes in the first place since I had prior success with Brooks’ support shoes.

The thin material continues right on the inner ankle, which is exactly where previous models of Brooks’ overpronation shoes had a thick material for targeted support. The cushion does feel pretty comfortable when my foot lands, but that’s about the only positive.

I’m not crazy about these at all, even though they are much better looking than all previous models and are definitely the lightest Brooks I’ve worn. Unfortunately I bought these at a DSW so I can’t return them, but I might opt for a different brand in the future, as it seems Brooks changed a LOT with its newest shoe models.

I found these shoes in an internet search for “responsive walking shoes” and boy, are they. Lightweight, comfortable, not only no foot pain but not even a whisper of discomfort, and not at all bulky.

When your feet say “ahhhh” when you lace a pair of shoes on them, and you look down and think, “those are pretty cute”, you know you can stop looking. The cushioning of the sole is exactly right — it works but I can still feel the terrain under my feet, so my feet and ankles have good information to work with to support my balance.

(According to my physical therapist, a problem with my previous “marshmallow” shoes was I couldn’t feel the ground. ) I have really high arches, and the elastic band over the instep is not at all restrictive.

In fact, when I lace up the shoe, the elastic buckles a little bit as the laces get snug. I don’t mind this, but the rest of the shoe is so perfect looking, I found it noticeable. My only problem, that I quickly got over, was that my usual orthotics did not fit well in these shoes.

While waiting to hear some advice from the Kuru Gurus (by email, still waiting, yes I checked my spam box), I just put the original insoles back in and wore them that way. Now, after a couple of weeks, I’m perfectly happy with the original insoles.

When I recover from this ankle injury that led me to change shoe brands and start walking longer distances, I’ll see if I need a more supportive orthotic. But for now, I’m very happy. I ordered two other Kuru styles to try.

I work in a fast-paced retail setting on a steel-reinforced concrete floor. My previous shoes hurt the minute I put them on, feeling like they had no arch support or cushioning at all. My feet hurt terribly & I’m struggling with arthritis in my back, hips & knees as well.

Hence, my interest in Kuru. I purchased the Pivot due to the light weight. I chose my normal size and they fit pretty well, except for the tongue which seems to be a bit too wide & bunches up when I tie the laces how I want them.

The first day, my feet felt pretty good at work & I came home with very little pain in my feet, hips & back. I thought these shoes were gonna be my salvation. However, they have not performed that way again on the 2nd & 3rd day of wear and I’m almost back to where I was pain-wise.

I don’t feel like there’s any arch support at all & the heel cushioning isn’t keeping up with the demands of my job. I think these would be nice casual shoes for around the house or leisurely stroll in the garden but I think I need something *more* for my fast-paced, high mileage, bad flooring occupation.

I may look for & try a different, more supportive, more athletic type style in this brand.

I just received my Pivots, and thought I’d share a couple notes on the fit. The description mentioned they had the same base as the Ellie model, which I already have. The Ellie tends to run a bit smaller than other models, so knowing that I ordered a whole size larger rather than a half size as I usually would.

They would have been fine a half size larger. Also, they run a bit wide, and with the one-piece top construction, you can only tighten them so much without the laced area buckling. I would say if you generally order a Wide shoe, you don’t need to, and if you have very narrow feet this may not be the shoe for you.

That said, they are very light and flexible, comfortable every day shoes.

I got the US 5 (I wear the Adidas Stan Smiths in the same size) but these were too small. Great shoe though!

As with my previous purchase, I love these shoes. No break-in needed. They immediately fit perfect and comfy. The first day I wore them, I hiked around all day in them. Very sharp looking as well. I recently had a knee replacement and these cushion and impact and feel great.

Highly recommend.

Great shoe. Comfortable, sturdy. Really good support and good grip on the ground. I’m looking forward to road walking in the mountains. Also, they are truly waterproof. I got caught in a downpour and my feet were the only part of me that was dry!.

I wish I had found these shoes earlier, so I didn’t have wet feet walking the dogs every morning this summer. These shoes really keep my feet dry. They are tennis shoe style, so not bulky waterproof shoes, and support my arches.

Oh my goodness. I have casually done indoor spin classes for the past few years but always rented shoes as I couldn’t justify buying them when I could just rent for free. Recently I decided I wanted my own shoes and was dead set on getting TIEMs but then decided I wanted something with a little more structure and with a BOA dial since my current studio’s shoes have them and I have found them useful.

I ordered the purple in these shoes and y’all. when I opened the box and saw the color, I was in LOVE. I used them for the first time today and was so pleasantly surprised at how comfy they were. I normally wear a 7.

5-8 (even up to 8. 5 in running shoes). Per the size chart, I ordered a 40, and it fits perfectly! I was actually worried it would be too small when I first put them on with my athletic socks (Balega), which are thicker than regular ones.

Was totally fine during class! Also, I’m used to using delta clips, but these require SPD clips. For some reason, I found them way easier to clip out of the bike with than the delta clips, so that’s also a huge win in my book.

Super happy with my purchase and can’t wait to continue using them!.

My husband and I have been road cycling for roughly 10 years. During that time I have owned 6 pairs of cycling shoes and had just accepted that all cycling shoes are uncomfortable. I saw these in a Backcountry ad and thought I’d give them a go as the price tag was reasonable and I hoped the Boa dial would provide customized adjustment.

They arrived quickly and when I slipped them on I was amazed by how comfy they were and that the Boa dial let me easily adjust them to just the right snugness. Honestly, when we are cycling I am not even aware that I am wearing them.

Another nice feature is their airiness which keeps my feet from sweating and they dry out quickly when we get caught in the rain. I am so in love with these shoes I just ordered a second pair so I will have these for years to come.

Altogether I tried three different indoor bike shoes. However, this shoe won hands down w/a great fit and a good-looking shoe to use w/BOWFLEX C6 INDOOR BIKE! I wear an 8. 5 shoe but needed a 7. 5 in this shoe.

Light shoe, footbed feels great, recessed cleat channels & full rubber soles, dial laces make for EASY AND QUICK ON & OFF! Will only work w/SPD cleats (not included).

These shoes are truly max cushion shoes. Unlike some other so called max cushion shoes, you can feel the plushness during the run. The ride is really comfortable, yet not so soft that it feels like you’re running on sand.

Although super comfortable, I wouldn’t say they are responsive. They actually feel slower, but that’s OK. I wanted these for recovery. The fit is completely different that the 19. In my normal size of 9 Wide, the 19 was snug, to the point of having to cut slits in the upper around both sides of the ball of my foot and wear super thin socks.

With these modifications, the shoe was comfortable and provided good support up to around 325 miles. After that they became very non responsive. The 20, is actually very wide, even for a wide width. Needed to go back to a cushion sock, custom insoles and a toe bandage on one big toe to eliminate rubbing.

Now that I have the fit issues resolved, the shoes provide a lot of cushion and my knees don’t hurt. If you run on hills, these are probably the best downhill shoes I have ever run in.

I am a Brooks fan, the only running shoe I will wear because of its fit and design that helps with my high arch. The Ghost is my go to shoe and the Glycerine is my long run shoe. When I saw the Glycerine 20’s were coming out, I immediately had to get a pair.

I loved the previous version. I loved to look of the shoe (triple black) and the fit felt like my old Ghosts, almost like a race shoe. So far so good. But then I wore them on my long run. Unlike my previous Glycerine’s, the 20’s had no cushioning or bounce.

It took a toll on the bottom of my feet. I purchased a padded insole to help absorb some of the shock, and tried that out last night, but it had limited impact. It almost feels like I am running in my work dress shoes.

I was told that the shoe takes a while to break in so I will continue wearing them hoping that I start to feel some shock absorbtion. In my case, the impact is felt in the ball of my foot. I hope this changes because I like the fit of these.

Ironically, my new Ghosts feel like my old Glycerines and my new Glycerines feel like my old Ghosts. As of right now, the Glycerine 20’s are not what I had hoped.

A big power walker and previously wore the Glycerin 19’s. I have a range of foot problems including osteoarthritis, and bunions. The Glycerine 20 is simply beautifully comfortable to wear. I feel like I am walking on air and the support is truly phenomenal.

I feel secure when I stride out with the guide rails supporting my every step. I purchased the same size as the Glycerine 19’s although I do think the 20’s are slightly wider. I can not recommend these runners enough especially for ladies in my age group.

I bought the navy and violet and they co-ordinate nicely with my exercise gear. I am waiting in anticipation to see what other colours come out, so so I can alternate my workouts with a second pair. I also tried the Hoka Bondi, but was advised it is imore of a recovery shoe.

Brooks please introduce more colours to the Glycerine 20 range because I am ready go. PS. These runners do not need breaking in.

I bought some Dr. Comfort sneakers back in January, and they are rubbing my feet a little. I thought I’d get this style because I thought it would be better. Alas, it is worse. I bought some stretchers, because it’s not a whole size off.

We’ll see. Besides from that. they look nice.

I really love these shoes. I bought a similiar pair 5 years ago and have been wearing them almost non-stop. They are hardly showing any signs of wear and still look smart. They are incredibly comfortable, supportive and beautifully well made.

The new fastening at the top with the velcro strap has made the new pair easier to secure, much appreciated with my arthritis gradually becoming more of a problem. Thank you very, very much for making such a perfect shoe.

I have difficult feet to fit any ready wear shoes. With the XW (extra wide) selection available, these shoes fit. Perfectly! My feet swell so the adjusting straps are a definite plus! Highly recommend.

Can’t beat these shoes for the money. Great style. Would be nice if they had color options. But I really like the one color they make it. I would buy more in different colors. Are the the most comfortable shoes I ever worn.

No they are not. But having that extra padding for plantar fasciitis is really nice. Overall I like them.

i am a freak. my left foot is narrow and my right is wide. most shoes fit great on one and then not the other. these are made from a canvas so stretch to conform to foot. the heel pops down so you can wear as a slider.

the just pop it upright and it is a loafer. wish the stitching was a bit neater, little sloppy looking. but that just me. comes in other colors too. whats not to like?.

Great slippers! Fit as expected. My husband wears a size 13 and has a wider toe area on his feet. They fit great and has plenty of wiggle room if needed, even with thicker work socks on. Just the right amount of arch support, comfortable insole and good quality shoe and materials all over.

It’s a good shoe to slip on for indoor and outdoor, even for running errands.

The cycling shoes looked great and had great styling. they run small! I ALWAYS wear a Euro size 36 as it equates to a USA size 5. These equated to a USA size 4. 8. Needed those extra. 2 for them to fit properly.

Sad because I did like them and the larger size is not available.

These are my first clipless shoes and they’re very comfortable. The recessed part where the cleat is almost seems to guide the cleat to the clip. The sizing chart is a bit confusing, though. Based on my foot length, it was suggesting I should have ordered the equivalent of a US size 8.

5 but, based on my shoe size, it suggested a 10. 5 so I went with the bigger size and they fit great.

I’ve been wearing these cycling shoes to Spin class 2-3 times a week for over 6 months now. I am able to put them on at home and walk to class with no issues (that was the goal , to not have to change my shoes when I arrived and left the studio) They are really comfortable and still look brand new! I was worried I got them a half size too small the first week I wore them, they were quite tight in the toe bed.

I spoke to my spin instructor about it, asked her advice on if I should return them and she encouraged me to keep them sicne they would definitely stretch. After the second week they were stretched enough to fit perfectly.

I’m now really glad that I didn’t go that half size up, because they would have ended up too big for sure!.

These lightweight shoes are amazing. They are incredibly comfortable and offer the ankle support that I was looking for. My feet are on the wider side and the Fit Finder matched me up perfectly. You literally forget that you have them on.

My only complaint and it’s nothing to do with the shoe itself. is that if you have chubby ankles (like I do) you don’t want to wear them with shorts. And that’s mostly aesthetic. As far as Support goes they are amazing.

Highly recommend for lifting and HIIT.

I like the design of these shoes. I love the minimal and sleek design. The shoes are comfortable on the feet. I love to use them for lifting because the soles are not that thick and very flexible. The reason why I didn’t give these 5 stars is because the top part rubs on my ankles when I’m wearing ankle socks.

The solution of course is to wear mid or crew socks. If ever Lululemon revised the design of these, they should change the material on ankle area because it will definitely cause blisters if worn for for a long time.

I love the colors offered and the design. There are not many workout shoes like this aesthetic. With time, the ankle part pills, making the shoes look old. These shoes are not for any lifting of any sort because they are wayyy too bouncy.

Personally, these shoes work more for HIIT, running, cardio-related workouts. Lastly, these are big and work excellent for wide feet (your toes will not be spilling out on the sides). Gotten a lot of compliments, so will wear more for leisure and not to workout.

I’ve been a long time runner and competitor. I bought these a week ago after using Kayano shoes for years and other brands. I have been on a few runs as a regular runner to assess them and it’s disappointing that they don’t seem as good as they used to be.

They appear as a harsh and uncomfortable shoe. Pro’s: They feel light. My size 11 shoe weights in at 320g ea. The elastic in the Upper construction is excellent that it hugs your foot like a sock and it seems quite breathable.

I like to run my shoes quite snug, so they seem true to size, if slightly narrow in the toe box. Colours a pretty neat. Cons: They’re very rigid in the sole. They’ll become more pliable with use, but currently they create quite a bit of pressure on Toe off.

The Upper and the tongue is very thin. It saves on weight but you feel the laces of you like to cinch your shoes up tight. Cushioning throughout the sole, whilst thick, is not as comfortable as they used to be in years gone by.

Much less Gel in the Heel and midfoot areas, instead relying on high density foams which seem harder and less forgiving. It cuts down weight in sacrifice of impact absorption and you feel it if running on the road if you have poor technique.

Heel cut is just a bit too low to grab the back of the foot securely. This seems to be an Asics thing now, as my last two pairs of Kayanos do the same thing and the Heel foam blows out from rubbing on the heel rather than locking the shoe in place.

For the price of a flagship shoe, they just don’t tick enough boxes in the comfort department anymore to be value for money.

I have worn Asics Gel Nimbus for many years as my go to walking/athletic shoe. It was a lifesaver for me when I had plantar fasciitis in 2012. I have tried to get a new pair the last few years and the last few iterations just did not work for me.

The cushion had changed and toe box seemed shorter and overall the shoe more narrow. One of my feet measures as a B width and the other a C width so I have been looking at a women’s D shoe. I have had to go up another 1/2 size as the shoes seems to be cut shorter than the older styles.

I bought this pair of Nimbus and chose the mens shoe regular width as it just felt a little better than the women’s D width. What I like: The cushion and arch support even though I think the gel feel is far less than say 3 versions ago.

What I don’t like: The way the tongue is sewn in. Not nearly as soft and comfortable as the loose tongue. I preferred the split cushion where the achilles tendon comes down to the heal. Much more comfortable.

The shoe still feels a bit snug and considering trying the men’s wide to see if the toe box is more comfortable and wish the toe box was a bit taller. I spent a long time at the shoe store trying different brands.

I still think my nimbus gel 18 had the best all round shoe cushion for comfort on the upper as well as the sole. I just get the feeling the shoe has been scaled back or cheapened compared to former versions.

Looking at several other brands but in the end the arch support in this shoe really fits mine the best. Sad to pay 150 + for a shoe and feel like I am making do.

As the title states, this is the best and most significant update to the Nimbus line up. It is probably also the best year to year update I’ve seen across many brands. The drop in weight from the Nimbus 23 is significant (35g I believe) and definitely felt as the shoe feels far more balanced, promoting heel strikes to land on their midfoot.

Two standout updates are the inclusion of the new FFBlast+ midsole which adds so much comfort to the ride, and the updated upper where the tongue is now a thin but padded and stretchy tongue. Its a small aspect of the shoe but it looks sleek, and performs its duty far better than the padded and chunky tongues which were more prone to sliding left to right in the older models.

The Nimbus 24 is overall very versatile in that neutral runners like myself can wear them, but they also provide support for pronators and people who need correction in their step. Its especially useful for neutral runners recovering from injuries.

With the reduced weight and sleeker profile, the shoe is also more capable of quicker and longer runs, and absolutely a great experience for everyday running. A worthy addition to my rotation.

I’m 170lb, 10 to 11 min/mile runner going through marathon training. For my long runs over 18 miles, I’ve tried Nike Invincible Run and Skechers GoRun Maxroad 5, both of which featured widely publicized super foam midsoles, but just didn’t work out due to issues such as blisters, fit, or ride quality.

Nimbus 24 so far proven to have just as good in terms of cushioning, but with superior upper and ride. I’m free of the same problems with those previous shoes. Nimbus 24 has bouncy Blast Plus midsoles, has the right amount of flexibility in the forefoot, while being very consistent in cushioning and ride.

The semi-exposed Trussitc bar provided just the right amount of stability through my gait cycles. The well shaped and padded heel counters provides great comfort. I’m not sold on the stretchy tongue, as I found myself needing to pull it form time to time to maintain the same comfort.

But still, the upper is supremely comfortable, and all of those quality have convinced me to donate the Nike and the Skechers. I highly recommend Nimbus 24. I don’t really have wide feet but have read other reviews about narrower fit, and Wide turned out to be the right choice.

I did a lot of research before buying my Nimbus 23 shoes, with runners at the local harriers and online. I’ve always had problems getting shoes to fit my wide feet and not many shops supply half sizes.

Also I’ve got a lot of miles on the clock and feel it on my knees, shins and feet when sprinting. So I wanted good fit and good shock absorption- research done I chose the N23s. The web site is straight forward and pretty informative in helping you choose the right shoes and set up.

Delivery (from Germany) was fine. Upon opening the box I spotted the size and it was not what I ordered! I tried them on as I thought it was only a size out I might get lucky? Since trying them on I’ve done about 60 miles running and sprinting in them and I totally love them.

No more sore knees/ feet. No blisters or chafing during breaking in period! In fact there was no breaking in period. Turns out I ordered in UK size and of course the shoes arrived in Eu measurement written on the shoes.

I knew what is assumed to be the equivalent and thought they were wrong. Reading some info regards Eu/Uk sizes, turns out they are not directly comparable. Asics had worked out from the info I gave them (wide feet etc) and got it spot on.

Maybe only people who really struggle to get correctly fitting shoes will appreciate what it means to get a 100% fit. It’s actually very painful putting up with something that’s just quite close.

I’ve ridden the AM9’s for years now on my clipless setup, and I absolutely loved them. They were bulletproof and could take a beating. These feel identical, but slightly more comfortable. You can wear these around like casual shoes easy.

Grip is pretty good on pedals, though the Michelin tread design is better suited to longer pins on your flats. I bounced around quite a lot with my raceface chesters, then opted to go with some more aggressive pedals like the Spank Spoons (made a huge improvement in overall grip).

However, the more I ride these the more I find that there’s not a lot of feel of the pedals under my feet. Sure they’re supposed to be support and stiff to reduce foot movement, but I really do feel like I’ve got dead foot on the pedals.

It’s even hard to tell where my foot is on the pedal relative to the axel and the ball of my foot. All other aspects are pretty much top notch. no laces is awesome. They still lace up nice and snug. Love the laces cover for that extra bit of top foot hug.

Super durable shoe too!.
