Mepitac tape is the best I’ve ever used on my eyes. If you have the problem where your eyes do not seal at night and need to tape them closed, you know how important it is to get a gentle tape. Some brands say gentle — but you know, on the eyes gentle isn’t enough.

I have been using Mepitac tape for years. It is the easiest to remove, it is sanitary in that it has backing on it, and comes in rolls so you can cut the length you need. I recommend it. Shop around to find the best price, though.

The Mepitac silicone tape was provided by my surgeon and since my incision/scar was healing so well I didn’t want to try another brand. This tape is 2x wider than needed so I cut it in half. I’m diabetic so bites, scraps, cuts, incisions heal but the hyperpigmentation can last for several months.

My scar is flat and soft without hyperpigmentation after only 6 weeks.

This tape is far and away better than the previous CVS brand silicone tape I bought, which was recommended by my physician after some surgery. That tape was rather flimsy and didn’t adhere like the Mepitac does.

Mepitac is substantial and adheres so much better. It also comes in a roll and will last much longer than the CVS product. All in all, it’s a winner in every way. You will be happy you bought it.

i gave 3 stars so far because i have only been using these for a couple days so i dont know exactly how well it works for fading/softening scars. i had my second cesarean 10 weeks ago and had to be cut open again 2 weeks later for hematoma removal so have been cut 3 times on the same incision.

so of course i have been experiencing lots of residual pain and the surgeon told me i have a large amount of scar tissue. its been hard wearing any type of clothing on the area, even loose waistbands will cause pain.

however since wearing these i have noticed a decrease in irritation. it helps to protect the incision from my waistbands etc. the strips stick very well. i have reused the same one for the past 3 days without having to wash it and im wearing it around the clock besides bathing.

i dont do any strenuous activity so havent been sweating or anything but so far so good. wish i had found these sooner for the protection purposes. hoping they do work to soften my scar as well.

I used these for awhile after I had my daughter. My c-section scar was so big it was almost from hip to hip. While I wish I had continued self care used them longer for even better results i was definitely impressed with what I did get my scar is so much smaller then bi anticipated so much lighter even tho I only used them for a few weeks! My is still visible but not very bad anyone who saw my scar at first was shocked to see how it looked after using these.

I love how you can wash them let them air dry to use over a couple times that alone made it a reasonable price to pay. They were pretty comfortable to wear even with a fresh c-section scar. They did roll up occasionally but it wasn’t bad once they were washed air dried they were good to go again! I would recommend this to anyone who recently had a c-section!.

A hypertrophic scar is a cutaneous condition characterized by deposits of excessive amounts of collagen which gives rise to a raised scar, but not to the degree observed with keloids. [1] Like keloids, they form most often at the sites of pimples, body piercings, cuts and burns.

They often contain nerves and blood vessels. They generally develop after thermal or traumatic injury that involves the deep layers of the dermis and express high levels of TGF-β. Also mechanical tension on a wound has been identified as a leading cause for hypertrophic scar formation.

[2] When a normal wound heals, the body produces new collagen fibers at a rate which balances the breakdown of old collagen. Hypertrophic scars are red and thick and may be itchy or painful. They do not extend beyond the boundary of the original wound, but may continue to thicken for up to six months.

They usually improve over one or two years, but may cause distress due to their appearance or the intensity of the itching; they can also restrict movement if they are located close to a joint. Some people have an inherited tendency to this type of scarring, for example, those with Ehlers-Danlos syndrome Classic Type.

It is not possible to completely prevent hypertrophic scars, so those with a history them should inform their doctor or surgeon if they need surgery. Scar therapies may speed up the process of change from a hypertrophic scar to a flatter, paler one.

Above is the definition of what I experienced with my surgical incision. I ended up at a Plastic Surgeon who treated the scar for both keloids in a portion of the scar and the rest of the scar was what was known as Hypertrophic scaring.

He said the only thing that helps is to apply pressure to the incision and that topical remedies don’t work. I had a return visit six week follow up and he recommended that I continue to use the ScarAway product.

I ordered it online as I needed the 7 inch Silicon Scar Sheets. If you use them I suggest that you take the scar sheet off when you shower or bathe. I learned the hard way as when it gets wet it looses it’s adhesiveness.

I wish the knee replacement PA would have mentioned this product as I would have began using it sooner, but they are so concerned with infection which can be so serious I understand why they didn’t. I’m hoping that the scar flattens over time, I can already feel the benefits from using it, the irritation and tightness at the scar has eased.

I’m a happy camper, I’m back to my pre knee replacement activities, however, I’m not over doing it as that can be detrimental.

This tape is amazing!! If you have sensitive skin like me, this skin friendly tape is for you!! I do Dialysis 3xper week and I go through a lot of tape to secure the needles in my arm. But this tape is so gentle, will not blister your skin, is so easy to tear, repositionable, and when they remove my needles you can reuse the same tape saving you money!! It will not tear the your gentle skin especially in the elderly.

I have sleep apnea and use this tape to tape my mouth shut so the forced air from my CPAP machine will go to my lungs instead of blowing out of my mouth while I am asleep. Other tapes are way too harsh.

This is the only tape I have found that will not tear at my skin, esp. around the mouth where it is tender. I use it every night. It tears easily with fingers too but is nice and thick. Highly recommend to anyone who has to use tape over and over.

Tried purchasing silicone scar removing tape and I received this tiny roll of surgical tape in a huge box. Check details closely. Wasted time in having to re-order correct product through Amazon.

Really good product. Stay on the skin , easy to wear it under the clothes . Has decreased my scaring significantly. Although it has to be were all the time for at least 3 months .

I attached the silicone sheet to my keliod. It helps to flatten it a bit. What I am so happy about the product is that it reduces itchy feelings at my keliod. This one is stickier than other brands I have tried!.

They stay on and are actually reusable. I have used other brands that say they can be resided but they do not keep they’re tact and fall off or twist. Only been using them for a month so I don’t know how effective they are at minimizing scars.

After a violent encounter with a tree limb, I have a scar on my forehead between my eyes. Using this tape not only has lightened and softened the scar but also my deep frown lines on either side. I started with the wider tape but this width is perfect for my use; no trimming necessary.

Silicone tape is a tried and true method that surgeons recommend to diminish the look of scars after surgery. My son had surgery to remove a growth from his neck. We bought CicaTape when we brought him home.

It worked. CicaTape is slightly more expensive than other brands of silicone tape but when you compare them, you know instantly why. CicaTape is thicker, but feels soft and forgiving on the skin. It has micro perforations that make it easy to tear, as well as regular perforation points about 1 inch throughout the roll.

It stays on all day as needed and can even be washed and reused, though we have typically just changed the tape out. I recommend CicaTape over other brands of silicone tape. It has been 6 month since the surgery and the scarring has been greatly diminished.

This stuff really works. A dermatologist left me with a nasty scar. This stuff is smoothing it out beautifully. I went in the pool today to do my laps and it stayed on for the entire 45 minutes. Very happy with this product.

I’ve been using the 1×1 sheets cut in half since stitches were removed for a small procedure on my face. Easy to cut. It’s been about 6 weeks of daily 12 hour use and I do think it has reduced hypertrophic scarring.

I have Fitzpatrick type 4-5, never had a keloid but due to the location I wanted to reduce the chance given my darker skin. I use 3M medical skin colored tape to secure it in place since it covers a curvature otherwise it would elevate on one side and not stay flush against the skin.

On my face it is hard to reuse as skin debris & oil interferes with the adhesive after one day (might be less of a problem on other parts of the body with fewer oil glands). Now that there is the Memorial Day 20% off- I recommend that you try it.

It was higher quality than another silicone sheet product I purchased through Amazon. I’m not a dermatologist or surgeon but there is good evidence for silicone sheets and in general (no specific brand) recommended to reduce scarring by the plastic surgeon.

So I want to like the product but it confused me and I don’t think it’s clear what to do after you use it once. How to clean it. And store it. I did get help once I wrote – however, it took a while to get a response and the product I was using which was the film for scars doesn’t have any sticking power and not sure why I am using it any more.

I recently had 2 lumbar discs replaced and fused in my back. I have a 5-6 inch incision in the front and a 2-3 inch incision in the back. Therefore, I purchased the silicon compression wrap because I felt it would be better for covering both incisions at the same time.

So glad I purchased it. So far my scars are looking much less red and flatter. Additionally, I like that the wrap provides support to my sore tummy and back. As well as putting a layer of cushion between my back brace, or even just the waist of my pants, and my incision.

Got these originally from my therapist after carpal tunnel surgery for my wound. It works great for scars and healing. He said it is even better than the scar creams and way cheaper. It is silicone, so it is soft to the touch and lets air get in.

Peels off easy, so I wore a makeshift glove at night so it would not come off. Love them and bought a box to have in the house in case anyone gets a cut.

I have used this tape since my double mastectomy healed. It will stay on for about 2 weeks. I keep it on even in the shower. Just pat it dry where the tape is. I can tell it has helped to lighten the scars.

Will continue to use on my scars. It’s very soft tape. And doesn’t leave any residue on your skin. Also it won’t cause any problem if you are like me and regular band aide adhesive causes you redness.

A plastic surgeon recommend this product a couple of years ago when I had a Ca removed from the side of my nose. It is easy to use; cut the size you need and stick it on. It helps healing and preventing scaring.

I bought it now for a dark spot on my face that I need to protect from the sun. It blends well with my skin color and looks much better than a band aid. One 59″ roll will last a long time for these needs but they make it in larger sizes for bigger scars.

Great for sensitive skin, it doesnt rip skin when you take it off. Sticks for days and is conforming and water proof. One of the few medical tapes that we are not allergic to.

Very effective. A bit pricey , but worth it, especially if can find a good deal. I had to have breast surgery and was looking for a product to help me with scarring I tesrarched and reviewed and Embrace is what I chose.

I am so pleased with the effectiveness However, it does not stay applied to skin/scar as well as hoped/should. Says stays on up to10 days. And one 3 strip pkg supposed to last about 30 days of the min 60 days recommended for best results.

Ok that sounds good and did not really expect the full 10 days. But, I am in third application and each has only stayed applied well 3-5 days before starts coming loose on ends/edges and flopping around.

after which very quickly rendered useless and have to be removed. I applied as directed, followed all the tips, applying some pressure for a while after application, was even careful when showering to not let be exposed to water but for just briefly, etc.

but. still sad to see them come loose too soon. So my pkg has only lasted about half as long(about 15 days) as expected. Fortunately, I bought a little larger size than what, it turns out, I actually needed to cover my scar; So when The ends of the Embrace strip start coming loose I still have application to most of my actual scar for a Little bit longer.

I see improvement in my scar and am quite pleased with that! Unfortunately, they dont stay on long enough and this means it will be even more expensive to use this product as long as recommended to get the best results.

The first one I applied came off prior to 10 days, but the second one is staying on. I rubbed alcohol on my skin before applying the second one and that helped. This one is staying on even when showering.

Since I just started using them about 13 days ago there are no results yet, but hopefully they will help within 8-10 weeks.

This product has done absolutely nothing for my scar on my nose! In fact I wore it the other day, and when I removed the silicone bandage, it seemed more irritated! I now have an appointment with a Dermatologist!.

On ongoing wrapping project sent us searching for a tape that was strong and yet easy to work with. This tape made the grade. Another brand, that appeared to be a larger size (due to packaging) was too sticky and would stick to things other than the gauze and be difficult to get off.

That was not a problem with the Curad tape. We still had a 2-pack from the store and when compared to the roll in the 12-pack that I bought online, the online roll appeared to be just a little larger.

Perhaps it was not wound as tightly or maybe it was an optical illusion. I don’t know. The 12-pack box is much easier to open than the 2-pack box, but due to merchandising needs I can see why it’s done that way.

You need the stronger box for the shelf. Even though it doesn’t seem important, I really appreciate the ease of getting to the tape in the larger box.

The tape is good. It sticks well and holds in place. I have tried several types of tape but they would not hold very long. Plus you can get it in several sizes.

I ordered the tape $2-$3.00 and also some wound care ointment. Cost 11.00. They canceled the ointment order, sent the tape and charged $10.00 for shipping the $2.00 tape.

Pro: it is gentle on my skin, it stayed on (abdominal and back dressings) 24 hours plus Con: it is pricey, it doesn’t tear, other tape cannot adhere to it, not much on a one inch wide roll. To explain: I had my husband get this for my post-op dressing changes, mostly because of our great experiences with Nexcare brand.

I was at home and he was describing tapes to me over the phone. He said it was expensive, but I just thought it was higher than most. No, it IS expensive! Now that it has run out (after four dressing changes) I will find another kind of tape.

We had to go over the dressing with a different (micropore) tape to secure it, but that tape didn’t adhere to the Nexcare. This one I do not recommend, especially if you need a lot of tape for larger areas.

I first tried this product as a free sample in exchange for my honest review and I’m honestly honored that I got the chance to do so because this tape is AMAZING! I unfortunately have very delicate skin and have a hard time finding first aid products that won’t give my skin a rash or anything if that sort.

I’ve tried other tapes that said it was for sensitive skin but sadly it wasn’t. This tape on the other hand is true to its word. It was as if it was never there. The removing process was a breeze as well because it didn’t leave any sticky residue behind nor did it feel uncomfortable when it was on.

This was also a savior for my teenage son and high school after he’d have a smelly teenage boy body from working out in gym and stuff. Lifting weights running the mile doing all those teenage boy apoplectic that would make him during the day.

Get pretty smelly. And so this stuff really was a financially Okay way to have him smell great have him feel great about himself. I not have it. Break my bank. To have him smelling and feeling good. And for teenagers, that’s a huge thing to have to deal with you.

This gets four out of five stars for me. Because of the amount for the price and and how good it smells.

I’m not sure how effective this is at reducing body odor from sweat since I get it for my little boys, but I love the smell! I just spritz a little under their arms and on their bums after baths. I also use the Axe Phoenix body wash and shampoo for them.

It doesn’t irritate their skin and they smell good all day.

I got this as a free sample from Degree. I got a 1oz canister to try. It smells amazing, it’s not cold on application. I think it lasts a decent amount of time on the skin. I usually use a arm and Hammer natural deodorant becuase I have strong smelling armpit 😂 so I need something that can take it, and this will definitely be added to my must have list ! It does claim to last 48hrs, and I think it does.

I gave it a 4 decause I do see residue after spraying.

I have recently become a fan of spray on deodorants. This one isn’t too expensive, but it definitely gets the job done. I have a little small one that I carry on the go, just in case I need it (after a workout or something like that).

It smells great and lasts. I love that there aren’t any white streaks all over my clothes. I even have my daughter using this one and she loves it.

My son has a long scar resulted from a cut on his forearm. When his scar was 2 weeks old after it has healed, we bought this Aromas Silicone Scar Removal Sheets. Followed the instructions on how to use it and eventually we left it on his wound 20 hours+ a day.
