20 Best Sad Movies On Amazon Prime (2023 Updated)

Pros: Amazing films, picture is sharp, terrific sound, lots of extras. Cons: No Theatrical version included. The Extended Edition means each film is split between 2 discs, just like the old dvds. (Hey New Line: having to swap discs in the middle of the movie is annoying!) The Appendices and featurettes are in standard definition and spread across 9 discs! (If they’re in such a low-density data format, all of the extras could have easily fit onto a single-layer blu-ray disc.

) The packaging is a bit lackluster, compared to the dvd Extended Editions. (And for some reason, these standard blu-ray discs are all in black 4K cases. ).

This set contains all three extended cuts of The Lord of the Rings movies in glorious HD. With all the extras that come with set there is some serious watch time for LOTR fans. Personally I’ve preferred the extended cuts to these films compared to the theatrical versions.

The extra material added in is quite extensive and does a good job of expanding the world of Middle Earth. I already had this set on DVD a long time ago, however those versions have rather poor picture quality, making the upgrade to HD well worth the price.

These movies are a visual masterpiece and deserve to be seen on Bluray in all their HD glory. Of another note I have noticed in some previous reviews that the packaging could be quite fragile and problematic.

As of 2019 this issue seems to have been addressed. Each movie set comes in it’s own individual standard multi disc bluray case. No issues with the durability of these cases anymore. If you are a fan of Lord of the Rings then you owe it to yourself to watch these exquisite director cuts.

You will never see Middle Earth the same way again. Highly Recommended.

There’s lots to like in this massive and well packaged version of LOTR. The packaging is beautiful, designed to look like a classic Book. Inside, the disks are lightly held in place, and could be tighter.

A minor fault, common to a lot of multiple dvds in a package. There are lots of them too. In addition to extended versions of the 3 movies, each on 2 blu-rays disks, which is a little disconcerting, but if you combine it with a bathroom or refreshment break, it’s a welcome intermission.

You have dvds of the making of. these are very good also. I’ve watched some of them. If you are a fan, and you must be if you bought this package, then you will enjoy the back stories and details of production.

It is interesting and insightful. So- enough to quench the thirst of die-hard LOTR fans. If you can get this set on sale, you will like it even more. A bit of background. I’ve been a LOTR fan for a long time, since I read them, a while back, I had bought the original dvds of the films as they were released.

They were fine, but eventually I replaced them with a 3 dvd blu-ray version. I was not happy with the quality of them, and ended up giving them away. I watched the orig. dvd’s, but wanted blu-ray quality.

The word on line was that this set was superior. They were right. The quality of the blu-ray movie is superb, film like, not video like. I liked the extended versions of the films too. I recommend this particular version and set.

It would make a great gift for that special LOTR person. Also a worthwhile splurge for yourself. These days, there’s plenty of time, and you know you deserve it.

Overall, i ended this remaster but there were some things that bothered me. First, I’ll get to the positives. The improved color of the film was a nice change. It was more vibrant (but still natural looking) and detailed.

The sound was fantastic. The music hasn’t sounded this good since i heard it in the theaters. Now, for the things I disliked. The CGI sticks out like a sore thumb now. Not all of it but a good amount, in my opinion.

The special effects looked better with the film grain and toned down color pallet of the earlier releases. I even noticed that some scenes that I never thought were fake was created with CGI. Which was kind of disappoiting and it took me out of the film when i noticed them.

Some scenes looked like something out of a video game (The Warg attack from Two Towers). The CGI just blended better with the original Extended Editions/Theatrical versions. That’s all I had problems with.

The main reason I bought this remaster is because the original Extended Edition I bought a few years ago was defective. Every movie after “The Fellowship of the Ring” had issues with the sound. The movie’s sound mix got worse with each movie.

By the time I got to “Return of the King” it sounded like everyone was whispering but the music and sound effects were louder than I remember. Yeah, it was extremely annoying. Im glad that it was something wrong with my box set and the movie wasnt mixed like that.

Im glad I was finally able to watch “The Lord of the Rings” again without stressing about the volume. I was able to just take everything in; the way it’s supposed to be.

This is an excellent choice for fans of the film in that you can avoid diving into 4K and stay away from that horrible bank draining Ultimate Middle Earth set and still see the upgrade to the films. There are some amazing scenes to see here in the remaster that definitely look better than the original blu ray release.

It’s a mixed bag though. In scenes like Minas Tirith or the dead marshes or even weathertop the overall look is kinda dull to me. This remaster is worth it for other parts of the film though. Especially when you’re flying above the countryside with a mountainous view.

The green tinted snow is gone! GLORIOUS! So, it’s an interesting remaster to say the least. Get it if you’re a super fan but if you’re happy with the original releases you already have, so be it. Just stay away from The Ultimate Middle Earth box set.

None of the documentaries that came with previous releases are in it and the one bonus disc is just a zoom call interview with Stephen Colbert and some of the cast.

Extra scenes and such that I never saw originally. I know these movies are edited, but something like this, though maybe not as important in telling the story, keeping the flow, and moving it along, they have to do, but for the ones that want similarity with the books, some things should be in movies, one way or another for guys like me that compare the books to movie version.

I know it’s hard enough to do these with the critics out there, and no one will ever be satisfied.

This film had not been on home video in the US prior to this Blu-ray release. Thanks to GKIDS for distributing this beautiful film from the Studio Ghibli library. Disney has been releasing many Studio Ghibli films, but some films, like this one and Grave of the Fireflies and others are being released by other studios.

The transfer is beautiful, and it shows off the amazing animation very well. You may not realize how old this film is while watching it on Blu-ray. Disney does a great job remastering films they release to Blu-ray, and if you have had concerns over the quality of this release from GKIDS, rest assured.

It is fantastic. Colors pop. The lines are sharp. It’s great. Some may find the story a bit slow, but I only thought it dragged near the midway point, which is typical for a lot of Ghibli films, to be honest.

However, I found this one dragged less than many. The film is funny and touching. I don’t get emotional during films, generally, but by the end of this one, I was swelling up tears. I bought this film having never seen it before, which is always a risk, but I am glad I did.

I loved it and I will watch it over and over.

This was the film that Takahata did right after his fantastic Grave of the Fireflies. As good as grave of the fireflies is, it’s not a movie I can watch very often due to its overwhelmingly tragic story.

Thankfully, Only Yesterday has a much lighter tone. This is a delightful film that is at times funny, at times a bit sad, but it left me with a tear in my eye and a smile on my face at the end. It is a moving expression of the human condition.

It’s about remembering childhood for all its wonder and innocence, wanting to in some ways relive those times, but needing to let go and move on. This Blu ray release has good image quality and excellent sound, though it would seem that no attempt has been made at even a 5.

1 surround sound mix. The DTS stereo does sound good none the less.

I can’t believe this has such high reviews. I’ve been such a huge fan of Hayao Miyazaki for so long! Since he has retired I thought I would venture out and look for a replacement, haha! I watched Grave of the Fireflies years ago and really liked it so, after reading all the good reviews on this one I purchased it.

Big mistake. it was the biggest waste of my time and definitely the worst anime movie I’ve ever watched. It goes on and on about a menstrual cycle, really, come on. And every topic is drawn out way too long as well.

I saw this movie for the first time just recently. I watched it on PureFlix and it said it had been modified for family viewing, so I’m not sure exactly what that meant. However, from what I saw, I can say it was a Fantastic movie.

The characters were portrayed beautifully. all of them were very convincing. But in my mind, this was Tom Holland’s (SpiderMan – Far from Home, etc. ) absolute best performance. I’ve seen other movies about the Asian Tsunami that were OK, but this one captured the essence of it all in a way that left you inspired, rather than simply grateful that you weren’t there yourself.

I highly recommend this movie.

I love this movie the characters are very moving, as you follow the family through the aftermath of the Tsunami. The special love they share in trying to find each other, and strength Lucas must bear in helping his mother thru injuries sustained after the Tsunami hits.

The bothers are all so cute, and convey a special bond, as well as the husband and wife in their search for each other. The Impossible is a wonderful riveting movie for all to watch. Naomi Watts is excellent in her mother part!.

It was really good. Very sad. True story. The damage was horrific from the tsunami. Can just imagine the many who must of died. The family’s story they highlighted was quite amazing.

This is one of those cult films from 1982 that had fond memories. Did not age well. More boobs shown in this movie than any horror movie I can recall. Maybe that’s why it’s a cult favorite. Teen boys must have loved it back then.

Slumber Party Massacre is a silly movie, but it’s supposed to be. The plot, as it stands, revolves around the escape of a maniac from a local mental institution who begins terrorizing members of a high school female basketball team.

This one really tends to be a lot of fun, it’s by no means a great horror movie, but it’s all done in good humor with a female director and writer. What’s really surprising is the amount of female nudity in this film.

Although it’s not terribly explicit, this IS an exploitation film-one needs to look no further than the gym shower scene to understand that. Slumber Party Massacre also manages to pile on some great gore effects and some genuinely funny moments (the bit with the pizza boy is hilarious).

For the brisk run time of 77 minutes, this is a fully loaded exploitation fan’s dream and a great 80’s slasher. It won’t win any awards, but have some friends over, gather around and have a blast, you won’t regret owning this one!.

The sequel is definitely better in every single way, but this is a solid slasher film with a sense of humor and a really scary villain. Shout Factory did a great job with the blu-ray release. Highly recommend this for a good Friday horror movie night!.

This movie is beautifully filmed. It is eerie, atmospheric, and moody. Nicole Kidman is superb as a frosty neurotic woman who seems overwhelmed by everything, including her own children. The supporting cast is outstanding.

The film takes you for a ride over which you have no control. Enjoy every creepy moment of it.

A movie with a great twist! The story takes its time in the lead up as it sets you up for the twist. Kidman gives a beautiful performance of desperately trying to do what’s best for her children.

I had it on vhs and loved it. Now I won’t miss out when they stop making this dvd. I am a sic fi, horror and classic movie lover. This movie keeps you’r mind racing from start to finish. It never gives it’s self away,like so many movies do, like half way through you have figured out what the ending will be, but, not this movie.

If you like this type movie buy it for you’r collection.

There were only 2 movies in the case, not 4 like advertised. Luckily it had Practical Magic, which was what I was really after.

Great funny,sweet and entertaining movies

Just when you thought Dom and his Fam couldn’t jump the shark any further! My man done stacked sharks on sharks and flipped the NOS switch. You know what you’re getting long before you sit down to watch this movie.

Action is so absurdly over the top and the fact that they are openly having the script address how proposterous these characters have become is actually refreshing. It was only a matter of time before one of these ding dongs made their way into space and they finally did it.

I was hoping there would be some Tokyo Drifting on the Moon but alas there are still a few more installments on the horizon so there’s still hope. 4K wise it’s another crisp picture and the audio track is as loud as you’d ever want it.

Overall a great disc and another good installment in the franchise. John Cena was a good addition to the cast and I’m looking forward to what Aquaman brings to the table next round.

I didn’t think I’d like this movie. Vin Diesel and John Cena don’t look anything alike (IMO). So I rented and watched with a friend first. The way the actors carried their characters was very enjoyable.

Great cast. They maintain the original characters’ personalities. I liked it more than I though I would. Decided to add to my collection, waited for it to go on sale. The stunts are always over the top – wouldn’t expect anything less.

The extras will go over how the stunts were pulled off which is why I prefer to own disc versions of movies. I thought this was great story telling and very entertaining. I don’t expect these big action adventures to be realistic, I expect them to offer an entertaining escape.

If that’s what you’re looking for I doubt you’d be disappointed.

Another great Fast and Furious Movie! I wasn’t sure how they would continue the saga, but they just keep coming up with fantastic story lines. The addition of John Cena as Dom’s brother was an excellent idea to keep the saga rolling.

Having Charlize Theron back once again as a villain was also very satisfying. The returning characters makes you feel right at home and bringing back a long forgotten character was also pretty cool. This movie had it it all, intense action, hilarious humor, great casting, and the love of family and friends.

If you liked any of the previous Fast and Furious movies, you must see this one as well!.

Constant animal sexual scenes, not funny. Constant dropping the F bomb, not funny. I didnt even make it 1/2 way through the movie. Waste of my money, and I loveTracy Morgan and especially Taraji P. HENSON in EMPIRE! Ill sell my Blu-ray and dvd copy locally, including the digital code.

This is definitely my favorite movie by Taraji P. Henson. Basically the story is she is a businesswoman that goes on escapades with men possibly trying to find the perfect guy. After her boss tells her he thinks she doesn’t understand men she seeks therapy and she ends up drinking this tea which gives her the power to hear mens thoughts and what they really think of you regardless of what they say to you.

The comedy was on point with this movie and the characters are engaging, it’s a great movie and definitely worth watching.

Enjoyed the film. Buyers beware its a love story comedy in disguise. Good chemistry between two lead characters (Aldisand Taraji) Tracey morgan kind of ruined the funny moments for me usually he makes me laugh but felt he didn’t deliver here.

Worth the collection i enjoyed it even if it was a love story in disguise.

Great movie with great actors. It shows us the struggles that many Central Americans go thru to get across the border. I love it. The only bad thing is that I didn’t get to see it all because the day it arrived I forgot it on the sofa my dad accidently sat on it and broke it.

Sin Nombre is on the top of my most favorite movies now that I have watched it. It’s quite the journey from Central America all the way to the states. It tells the tales of quite a few characters, and gives you different vantage points from different perspectives.

You don’t quite know who to follow as the good guy and bad guy since everyone is doing what their doing for themselves. From start to finish, your just engulfed in mystery an anticipation on what will happen next.

You get to see the beautiful scenery of Mexico and see what happens all the time in the real world. The movie itself is beautiful, I guarantee you won’t regret buying or just watching this film, trust me, and all these other reviewers.

A true masterpiece of a film. A truly emotional movie. The ending will leave you depressed and heartbroken. I just wish this movie was in English and not in Spanish with English subtitles.

In typical Wes Anderson fashion, the director’s 2009 film Fantastic Mr. Fox takes a kooky yet endearing approach to a classic children’s novel. The story follows Mr. Fox, a father and husband who has tried to leave behind his free-spirited, wily ways for a peaceful, idealistic lifestyle.

Despite the comfortable life he leads, he still feels tempted by his old ways as a chicken stealer. So, when he and his family move into a new tree overlooking the land of the town’s three most notorious farmers, Mr.

Fox derives a plan to settle his appetite for the sly ways of his youth. Crafty as he may be, it isn’t long before Mr. Fox is tangled in much more trouble than he anticipated, and all the animals of the town may be in danger if he can’t swallow his pride and change his ways.

Though it is Wes Anderson’s sixth film, alongside those such as The Life Aquatic and The Royal Tenenbaums, Fantastic Mr. Fox is his first animated movie. The film is based on a children’s book of the same title written by the acclaimed British author Roald Dahl in 1970, which Anderson recalls as the first Roald Dahl book he ever owned as a child.

His inspiration to retell the story through a film was particularly inspired by the intriguing and endearing character Dahl created in Mr. Fox. As if Roald Dahl’s original story wasn’t delightful enough, Wes Anderson’s quirky yet heartwarming on-screen depiction adds a whole other dimension to the appeal.

The dialogue is pitch perfect, and the personalities and idiosyncrasies of the animated characters give them a presence just as strong as any actors would have in the flesh. The characters are so relatable that they wear off on you– sometimes I even catch myself mimicking Mr.

Fox’s trademark whistle-whistle click-click. Fantastic Mr. Fox is offbeat and overflowing with the witty, unconventional humor that Anderson is best at. Most of all, though, the film’s strength lies in its unexpected dosage of heart.

Sure, sometimes the stop-motion animation thing can be a little creepy. But with strong voice actors like George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Jason Schwartzman, and Owen Wilson propelling the witty and captivating storyline and dialogue, what could be strange is instead inexplicably charming.

The same goes for the mix between human and animal traits that the characters reveal. Anderson creates a careful balance between their tendencies, which dodges any uncomfortable or eerie inclinations and instead adds a captivating realism to the animal characters.

For anyone who grew up treasuring Roald Dahl’s books, Wes Anderson’s wonderfully weird take on the story is a must-see. Anderson’s imaginative portrayal of the classic story is surprisingly satisfying film for children and adults alike.

As Mrs. Fox says, “We’re all different. But there’s something kind of fantastic about that, isn’t there?” The same certainly goes for the film, but in the same way, such is the nature of its charm.

I love this movie. I first saw it a few years ago at a friend’s house, and after some initial skepticism on my part, it won me over. When I saw it for such a great, low price, I simply could not resist.

It’s a unique, slightly offbeat film, which I love. Stop animation is beautiful done, and the cast is fantastic. Plot, sense of humor, pacing, dialogue, and overall feel are very different from your average film (animated or not).

Intelligent film that’s a lot of fun and has a lot of heart without being sappy.

Released at Last! An entirely different story unfolds as Clive Barker’s original vision for the film based on his novel Cabal unfolds across this EXCELLENT Blew-Ray disc. The studio pressured CB to make cuts to length and themes in the theatrical version because focus groups were too lazy or stupid or both to understand a story where the humans are the bad beings and the “monsters” are noble, civil and wise.

Print transfer is glorious and in very good shape – given that Morgan Creek studios nearly lost the footage from the cutting room floor. Sound i cannot speak to since the audio set up current mine is.

off a bit [rather a lot really]. If you enjoyed the theatrical version OR just like CB works OR enjoy stories where the “good guy bad guy trope” is reversed or outright ignored – this is one to surely add to collection.

Cut to shreds by Morgan Creek upon it’s release. Ridiculed as a bad film by critics. Pushed aside for years. Finally it settles upon Scream Factory to do it justice with the newly restored Cabal Cut.

Its great, longer, and way more interesting then the release. The features are amazing a 72-minute doc on the making of the film featuring cast and crew. A great and very interesting and funny commentary by Clive Barker.

This is one of my favorite releases from the Scream Factory. Thanks Scream!.

This is the one that needed to be released. The studio at the time released it with 50 min missing, terrible. Luckily the fans demanded the Barker cut. Check it out!!!

If anybody knows the story of Michael morbius they know from Spider-Man. Michael Moore videos is a gentleman who was sick through childhood trying to find a cure for himself, but wants up with a curse.

The movie morbius is actually better than I thought. The storyline was exquisite, the acting was very well done The special effects the CGI or all well done. Had some surprise twists and turns all in all it was very well done.

I would recommend it highly if you are a model fan and especially a Spider-Man fan.

MORBIUS, starring Jared Leto as the titular character of DOCTOR MICHAEL J. MORBIUS aka MORBIUS is a masterpiece of filmmaking. This is the first 11/10 movie to exist, in fact, and if you disagree, you’re wrong.

It made 10 Morbillion dollars at the Morbox Office, which makes it the highest grossing movie ever of all time. It pleased audiences everywhere with its intricate storytelling, deep t h e m e s , and most of all, the performance of a lifetime from Jared Leto as DOCTOR MICHAEL J.

MORBIUS himself.

I was wanting to see this film in the theaters but missed it. I bought the bluray and hoped for the best. I was very disappointed. I thought it was the worst Marvel movies yet. I assumed they made Morbius so they can tie in the character with the new Blade under development.

I can’t see how they can go forward with this franchise it was that bad.

Venom 2, Let There Be Carnage, cuts to the chase and delivers on the look, action, and “lethal protector” comic book story line. Its a little short by today’s movie standards, But then again, that is preferable to being too long with filler that would ruin the movie.

Tom Hardy delivers on the Eddie Brock portrayal, ad does Woody Harlson as Cletus Cassidy. Venom almost steals the show again with his on point humor. And Carnage looks & acts just like it’s pulled from the comic.

Thoroughly enjoyed the movie and what Sony has brought to the table with regards to the Venom character. Carnage came with just as much great story and concept which goes for Shriek as well. The only reason they got one star off is for how the villains ended the movie which I think does a disservice to the level of villains that Carnage in particular truly is.

So much more story to tell of his. But otherwise a great watch.

The storyline continues where the first Venom movie left off. It explores the relationship of Venom and Eddie. The love story of Cletus and Shriek. Another symbiote named Carneage is added to the mix.

Eddie is not a saint nor innocent. The look of sequel is consistent with the first movie The bonus features are entertaining and informative.

Not much to dislike about this release. I would have preferred a 4k transfer, but the blu ray has always been pretty good. As hard as it was to get this film on blu ray, this release is well worth it.

I am very happy with this steelbook! It came super fast, and had no dents or imperfections. I am so so excited to give this as a gift!

I was born in the mid 80’s so during the 90’s most of these films were on Cable TV. I remember seeing this many times before but never actually owning it. I was close to buying the Diamond luxe edition of the film but something held me back.

I’m glad i did as this movie has been remastered from the original 35MM film to 4K. I compared the included blu ray (which has all the special features) to the 4K disc and there is a significant difference to the two.

For starters the 1080p blu-ray has a brighter picture but the 4K color’s shine a whole lot more. The DTS-HD 5. 1 sound is good but you can hear that this movie was done in the 80’s has sound effects sound outdated.

If you’re new to 4K or only have the dated transfer on the 2009 Blu Ray release, I think it’s safe to say get this disc if you are a fan! Go in with modest expectations for a 1984 film. This newly created 4K transfer is well worth a purchase! The film has a softer look to it, always did.

It is a very good story. There is laughter and tears and the characters are interesting. It has a very good moral point in the story. The way the story will lead you to the next story in the series is very good.

It’s interesting to see what will happen in the next story in the series. The value is good. Money well spent. There should be more stories like this one. Michael Landon,Jr. follows in his Dad’s footsteps of directing.

A heartwarming story of love born out of tragedy. A man who demonstrates selflessness with no assurance of receiving any reward for his efforts. A lesson for all of us in the true manifestati0n of real love.

Sometimes love just comes softly. ” This is a direct quote from the movie “Love Comes Softly” starring Katherine Heigl and Dale Midkiff. Based on the book series by Janette Oke and directed by Michael Landon Jr.

comes a story about two widowers that join together in a time of need. One of the best love stories that comes from the promise land of the west! Marty and Aaron Claridge (Heigl and Oliver Macready) set on starting a new and wonderful life in the opportunity filled west making plans for a family and farm.

Sadly this is short lived when tragedy strikes leaving Marty to face a bleak future on her own. Or what would have been bleak had Clark Davis (Dale Midkiff), a widower, not suggested a “marriage of convenience.

” They make a deal if Marty can be a mother and show Clark’s daughter, Missie, how be a child again and help raise her, then in the spring Clark will help Marty get back home in the spring when the wagon train heads back east.

This tale is one of the best love stories to be based out of the pioneer days, full of hope, opportunity, hardships, and love that is discovered where once there was only heartache. Truly warms the heart!.

Story picked up quickly and is well written, you were invested in all the characters and what went on with them. I thought that it should’ve been more of an explanation as the horror aspect of the movie was not done properly.

Ethan Hawke proves yet again that he is a great actor playing a deranged serial killer all the child actors and actresses were exceptionable and believable. I would recommend this movie and it has a re-watchable quality.

I had super high hopes for this film and I was not disappointed. Scott Derrickson did a phenomenal job, he makes you feel like you’re actually there with the characters. All the actors including the children actors do an amazing job which is a rarity.

If you like gritty, dark thrillers I would highly recommend this movie!.

A surprisingly good film. I wasn’t expecting very much, but it was engaging and well acted. Recommended. No 4K, but picture on the Bluray was excellent. An average smattering of extras make it a decent purchase.

If you want just the movies, and some tv specials, this is perfect. If you want the movies, and the special features from the DVDs that were previously released, you’ll be disappointed. Shrek: Shrek in the Swamp Karoke Dance Party and some deleted scenes.

Missing the games, etc from the 2001 DVD Shrek 2: Far Far Away Idol and some supplementary content. Missing all the games, etc from the DVDs Same with Shrek the Third and Forever After. The bonus content disc is great, as it includes the Christmas and Halloween TV Specials, and a select few episodes from the Puss in Boots Netflix show, but it seems redundant that that disc also includes the Far Far Away Idol and Shrek Dance short since those are already on the discs for the movies.

Who doesn’t enjoy Shrek? I mean, fairytale creatures, laughs, fun action, and humor both adults and children can enjoy! Its got a dash of everything. This collection has it all. Caught it on sale as well! From all 4 Shrek films, Puss in Boots solo film, and the musical (which I haven’t yet seen) it also has the TV specials made for the films as well.

If you’ve ever wanted to add these to your collection I recommend doing so with this set. Get everything in a fairly slim packaging as well.

This “Shrek: The Ultimate Collection” is a great way to get everything Shrek currently available – all the movies, including Shrek: The Musical, and all the Shrek shorts (that’s a lot of “Shrek” in one sentence.

and what you get at a pretty decent price)! The blu-ray presentation of this collection also comes with a digital copy of the collection and is a great way to complete your collection. Really recommend it!.

This movie was not as exciting as I had anticipated. The plot was very thin and predictable. The characters lacked depth (even for a romantic comedy) I loved Meryl Streep though but I was basically disappointed with the entire production.

I loved this movie! If you are a Meryl Streep fan (which I am) you will enjoy her witty, funny, motherly performance in Prime. I rented it and watched it three times in a row. I can’t say anything bad about this movie, except that it was ONLY an hour and forty-six minutes.

Off-beat movie that is elevated by the performance of Meryl Streep. but then again, any movie she’s in benefits from her presence. The soundtrack is particularly well done.
