20 Best Running Shoes Made In Usa (2023 Updated)

I have always been a fan of the New Balance 990. It was a shoe that I typically saw older, affluent men wear who would not otherwise wear sneakers. Now I see why the elders choose this model. These 990v5 New Balance are so comfortable! It feels like you are walking on air.

I have worn 576 New Balance for decades. I still like them, as they are very stylish and come in cute color combinations, but if you want the king of New Balance, this is the shoe for you. They are stylish, fashionable yet (dare I say) practical.

They come in grey, black or navy and there are other variations of the grey that are released as limited editions. It is a very versatile shoe, worth the price point, IMO. I will say that you should order in your size.

They may have a little room in the toe, if you have longer, more narrow feet, as I have, but they should not be too wide or long. Enjoy!.

My foot is a double D in front and a triple AAA heel, and a high arch and high instep. I am 82 and need to preserve my knees and hips. The new balance 990v5 is the only shoe I have experienced so far—-I think I am on my 5th pair—that works for me as an everyday shoe.

Now that I am over 80 I wear my tennis shoes everywhere, even if it’s a dressy event. I do hope New Balance continues to make this style!!! I also have to give a shout out to Merrill’s hiking shoes. The Merrill’s hiking shoes fit me and do a lot of the gripping the uphill and downhill earth so my knees don’t have to.

And there’s a safety element.

With only a hiatus on the recommendation of an orthopedic surgeon, I’ve worn New Balance 990s since they were introduced in 1982. At that time I was running 50-60 miles per week, and these shoes served me well — great cushioning, stability and durability.

To better address back problems I developed, my orthopedists recommended that I switch to Brooks Beasts, which I wore for a few years until Brooks ruined the Beast with their 2016 revisions to the toe box.

The folks at RoadRunner recommended that I return to the 990v5 to remedy pain I was experiencing in the big toe on my right foot. The 990v5 solved this problem, and I have been successfully wearing this model for about five years and with five pairs.

I typically buy two pairs per year and wear them in rotation virtually every day and all day in this time of the pandemic. My sixth pair was delivered by UPS as I was writing this review. I recommend this shoe to any serious runner, walker, or regular, vigorous exerciser.

Purchased these shoes back in February and did so mainly for the style. However, I quickly realized that they were extremely comfortable! There is some weight to them but the construction of the shoe provided great support and helped correct my poor posture! I found myself walking upright and without slouching which others were able to notice as well.

I’d like to say about a month ago, I started to develop lower back pain, my posture isn’t as great anymore and the bottom of my feet would feel sore as if I was walking in flat sandals all day. I couldn’t pinpoint why until a few days ago when I purchased a new pair of shoes for running and had these shoes on that day.

The 990v5 no longer had the support, cushion and comfort it once had when I purchased these shoes six months ago which was a shocker, honestly. I believe with running shoes it’s recommended to switch out your shoes after 200-300 miles and even if I were to apply that to these shoes, I don’t think I’ve hit that mark yet.

For a bit of background, I primarily wear these shoes for light walks/running errands and they get rotated between other shoes/sandals. Now when I put these shoes on and start walking around in them, I’ll get so much pain and sensation in my lower back and feet.

I haven’t experienced this with my other shoes and I’ve had some for over 5-10 years. I do find it a bit interesting, I may just need a new pair and or perhaps insoles but for the cost of the shoes and insoles only to be replaced after six months of casual wear, it’s questionable.

Overall, I absolutely enjoyed them during the six months of having them but my back and feet are telling me I need to retire them and that’s what we’re going to do.

I am writing this review to let everyone know how this sneakers fit. I bought a pair of USA 990v5 Core and let me tell you I will never go back to Vionic sneakers or sketchers or any bogo fit out their.

This 990v5 are the best comfortable strong well fitted sneakers you can own. They are a bit price but I am a 215 pound woman 5’7 Tall and let me tell you I have very bad knee problems and a right ankle surgery.

These sneakers support so much my walking that I have been thinking Why in the world didn’t I buy these sneakers before. They are strong and very arch supportive they are stylish and can go with everything.

Since I love love love them so much I am owning the black and navy blue pairs as well so I can wear different colors and balance the sneakers. I hope they can come with a nice white pair as well and perhaps other nice colors too.

Please continue USA to make these wonderful classic stylish sneakers in where your feet has to wear the best. DON”T look at the price because our feet are our travelers and they deserved the Best. Please continue to make these sneakers as they are.

Do not change anything. I am a size 11-Medium but in these sneakers I bought 10. 5 Medium they fit perfect. Thank you USA : God Bless America and its Products :).

Ordered the vegan 11. 5 and they were too big – sent them back no problem. Ordered the black/silver 11’s – too small in length, returned to the store and tried the 11 wide in black, fit great! Went home an ordered 11 wide in black/silver and a pair of More v3 in silver/white – I have the More v3 in black/white size 11 that I use for work so I wanted a pair for home and running.

The More v3 arrived first and they’re too short! I think the sizing is in consistent cuz my black/white More v3’s fit great, especially in the toe box. Then I got the black/silver 990 v5’s. Again, the sizing seems inconsistent.

The all black pair I tried in the store fit like a glove, but these are a bit long in length, but not enough to send back. They actually feel real comfortable Solid construction, quality materials, real nice foot bed.

The tongue tho, it slips toward the front of the shoe with walking. I managed to rig it by using the the 2nd to last shoe lace hole to pull the tongue up so that it stays in place. Thankfully the laces are extra long so that this is possible.

Overall I’m stoked. I expect these shoes to last a long time – definitely an everyday shoe. And New Balance has been great. I’ve ordered and returned several pairs of shoes in the process and had no issues.

I’ve had these for about 4 months and waited to give a review until now. I’ve never owned a pair and I needed to see how they were after they were worn for a while. All the reviews I read seemed positive but were given right after purchase.

Since purchasing them I’ve had many compliments on the look and style. At the end of the day, these shoes are by far the best, most comfortable shoe I’ve ever worn. Super light, you barely know they are on your feet.

I wear them everyday and hate to take them off. I wear them for casual outings and as business casual. I’m on the website again about to order my second pair in a different color.

The Cloud X is a neat design from On that could be used for cross training and running. The design makes the shoe lighter than other models in similar categories, however; it should be noted these shoes will make some people’s ankles bleed as the ankle area has no padding and the stitching can rub against your skin.

It is worth trying these on in a store or wearing taller socks.

These are excellent for walking around town, up & down hills, several miles at a time–no problem. Solid, comfortable soles and roomy, breathable uppers, yet snug so they don’t give hot spots. Less useful on trails, because the aggressive tread tends to pick up half-inch pebbles (although they’re easy to remove).

For pavement pounding, these are great.

The shoes are very soft and comfortable for walking long distances. They are popular in Europe among tourists. I like the fact they come in many colours and models, it is hard not to find your preference.

They are light and high quality. I would not recommend them for running if you have alignment issues, they are too soft for stability. I find them ideal for travelling and long distance city walks (not on gravel or nature hikes as their sole tends to collect little rocks and wood chips).

Their unique cool look and eye catching design makes them easily recognizable among people.

I would LOVE to give these sneakers a 5 star rating. But. BUT. when my husband opened the box on Christmas morning. what did we discover 2 different sneakers! 2 different colors and sizes! Now I ordered them online & the box was encircled in a thin plastic cord that needed cutting-So I assumed!!! nothing was amiss and did not cut it to look inside.

MY MISTAKE! Now I need to return them and hopefully the ones I want are still in stock. By the way this is NOT the 1st time Bloomingdale has sent 2 different shoes in a box. Do they not have q quality control person overseeing???.

This is my second pair. First ones I use for work lasted me 2 years only worn indoors. Just needed a replacement. These ones feel a little narrower but it could just be new shoes. Very comfortable. Stylish, get regular compliments.

Hopefully just as durable. I would get again, as I have.

I got these shoes for walking my dog four-to-five miles seven days and to wear to my part-time job 3-to-4 hours a day four days a week. They are adequate and no more than that but it would be unfair of me not to qualify why I say that.

I suffered nerve damage from a series of backpacking trips carrying too much weight five years ago that have left me with a certain degree of numbness in my feet. These shoes are an improvement over my older Vasque hiking shoes that were wearing out, particularly with regard to the degree of cushion they provide.

Where they fall down is in the degree of support. When I first got these I hesitated and nearly returned them but decided to give them a chance. I have wound up getting another pair of sturdier walking shoes from another American retailer to use more regularly than these and will use these for lighter duty.

They’re decent shoes but if you’re 68 years old fighting numbness like me they may not be the ones you need. I know this review doesn’t apply to everybody which is why I wrote it the way I did. At the same time I suspect it does apply to some people.

I first began to run in New Balance shoes while I was in school in Boston during the mid 1970’s We purchased our “320’s” at the company store in Brookline. Since then, I have purchased my New Balance shoes from small specialty retailers, the Jogg’n Shoppe in Arcate, CA for the last decade or so.

I was seriously disappointed when New Balance decided to stop supporting small retailers – who had been the faithful basis for the company’s growth and success. For this order, I bought my 990’s from a New Balance company web site, although it appears that they were shipped from a different organization located in Missouri.

My local retailer can no longer get New Balance shoes because he does not have “elite” status. I hope that New Balance’s management begins to see the error in their decision to favor large, on-line operations over the local shops that have been (and still are) working to serve their customers and keep them in high quality shoes.

I would hate to see New Balance go the way of so many other companies who have been squeezed out of business by low margin, on-line operations. New Balance’s 990’s are the only shoes that really work for me, and I hope that I can continue to have their quality and excellent design available to me.

This is the best shoe that is made, but even as a female customer, I find that the men’s 6E width is not wide enough. Some people need a square type of toe, no tapering going forwards to the toes. Some people’s feet do not get narrower towards the toe.

I am disappointed that NB is coming out with so many pointed toe styles and nothing emphasizing a wide width and a square toe. The extra depth shoes of some orthopedic shoe companies are not the answer in this case.

Extra depth means that the toe is longer and higher – perhaps for a prosthetic insert. In addition, I don’t understand why there are 6E men’s shoes and not 6E women’s shoes. Personally, I would want 11E women’s shoes with a straight edge up to the end of the big toe and a basically square toe.

There are men’s 9E width shoes from some orthopedic shoe companies, but they are not made as well as New Balance, so I would want the quality of the New Balance shoe. I would be willing to pay more for this as compared to a regular size shoe because it is a matter of being able to walk optimally.

I have been wearing the 990 series shoes since the 1990’s and til today. I own 2 pairs , one grey, one blue. They are built in the USA at factories in Lawrence,Massachusetts and Scarboro,Maine. The suede is so soft and top quality.

The shoes break in nicely , midsole cushioning is a little stiff at first, but so supportive. They get softer with age, but will never be as soft as the 1080 fresh foam shoes that New balance makes. The shoe will last you 5 years or more of life and worth the money at LLbean.

The Good: Good stitching. Very nice suede. Heavy-duty mesh. Outsole gives good grip and very well designed. Lot of widths. Made in USA. The Great: The gray colorway can be worn anywhere with anything.

Fits in anywhere with anyone except for the last refuges of traditional fashion. The Bad: Won’t fit everybody. Didn’t fit me after trying three sizes. Relatively narrow in the toe box, and very low in the arch — high arches need not apply! The Ugly: “Cushion Level 5” is a lie, unless it’s relative to shoes from the 1990’s.

Much less cushioned than modern “max-cushion” shoes by Brooks, Saucony, Hoka, Asics. and New Balance!.

These are, unequivically, the most comfortable sneakers for those with wide feet. Expensive ($200), but worth every penny. Have purchased these every couple of years for decades, relegating the older pairs for everyday walking, using the new ones for the gym.

Had to wait close to a year for them to become available, so be aware of the supply chain factor (even though they’re assembled here in the states).

This shoe has to be one of my favorite shoes! They are very lightweight, comfortable, breathable, and I walk very naturally in them. My only complaint is that they run small. I am true and true a size 7 and my toe is right at the tip and I seriously considered returning them for half a size bigger but I am hoping they stretch just a little bit the more I wear them.

My feet are also fairly narrow and the shoe fits just right. Also, the bottom of the shoes pick up rocks because of the wide spacing, so I can imagine if you live where there are a lot of pebbles, it might get annoying picking rocks out of your shoes all the time.

I’ve worn them for about a week and overall a very good shoe and I think they are slightly better than my Salomons.

This is my second pair of Cloud shoes. My first pair is the previous version. I think there are some great upgrades to this shoe and no doubt they are very comfortable and I love how easy they are to slip into.

I find that I range between sizes depending on what On shoe it is. Both my Cloud shoes are size 7. 5. I most commonly am a 7. 5 (in general) but sometimes a 7 (depending on brand and model). The light green color is great, especially as we are approaching spring and summer.

I’ll get lots of use out of them, anything from walking, errands and traveling.

These shoes are great for my wide flat feet! Loved them so much I was only wearing them at home before finally taking them outside. Also love the option of keeping the elastic on, or interchanging with laces.

Lots of cushioning and super lightweight. I am 7. 5 or 8, and 7. 5 fits perfectly width and lengthwise. Looking forward to lots of warm weather adventures in these runners.

I always wear flip flops but of course I can’t wear them to work. I was in search upon some decent walking shoes since I do a lot of morning walks and came across these. I love them! I do an average of 10,000 steps a day and these shoes meet my needs.

My shoelaces tend to go undone a lot so these laces were a plus!.

i love these feather light trainers. So far i am only using for walking and gym work but they are super comfortable and look great. The stretchy laces make for easy on and off but if I were running i’d definitely lace with the regular laces.

These are seriously the best shoes, whether you’re hitting it hard in the gym, working on your feet all day (this brand is awesome for all of our hardworking nurses, thank you!), going for a casual stroll or just want to be comfortable.

I don’t necessarily have a wide foot but I have a wide toe box and high instep. That said this shoe is very narrow even after sizing up. I followed the reviews and sized up from 8 to 8 1/2 but all that did was make my foot slide around too much in the shoe.

I would say this shoe is true to size and suited for narrow feet. Otherwise the sneaker did feel comfortable and I liked the speed lacings.

I’m a dental hygienist who stands up all day while working. I need a shoe that is lightweight yet supportive. These are amazing – no sore feet at day end! Considering picking up another pair for “home” use.

I’m normally a 5. 5, but did go with a 6 based on previous reviews. Perfect fit.

I really like these shoes, they are very light and the design is simple. I have bunions, so I need a wide shoe. As the previous reviewer said, these shoes are not wide, but they are tall, so I can wear thin socks with them.

I bought the black shoes, and since they are all black and have an urban design, they go well with dress pants and can be worn to work as well.

I’ve heard great things about the On brand for their comfort, so I bought these shoes. I’ve used them a handful of times in the gym and for walking. The heel lockdown is great and there’s lots of room in the toe box.

I’m not sure how these would perform for running, but I think they would be ok for short distance running in a pinch. The only complaint that I have is that the material around the ankle is somewhat rigid, so it is a little uncomfortable around the ankle if you tie them very tight.

However, I found that wearing socks that aren’t too short to solve the problem.

I own a number of On Running shoes and this is one of my favourites. Lighter than the Cloud, with similar platform. Would’ve been great to have the elastic lace option with these but doesn’t come with those laces, but these are easily available and I wrap all my shoes with elastic laces.

Shoes are stable, neutral and provides low drop between ultra-minimal zero. drops, and traditional high drop shoes (8-10mm+ drop).

This was my first time trying ON. I wanted a cross trainer that had enough support for me to jog 5-7k and lift in, as well as enough lateral stability to play tennis with. When I received them, I was very impressed by their weight, support and overall style.

In the end, I opted for one running shoe and another tennis shoe but if you’re in the market for a multi workout shoe this is a strong contender.

These shoes are CUTE and let me tell you how I can NEVER find cute shoes for my Husband in a Size 15 Wide! His shoe selection has been SO limited since he hit his teenage years and I FINALLY found a store that not only Carry’s his shoe size but also – has clothes that fit him length wise! SO many normal department stores have a ‘Big and Tall’ section and that has never worked out for us.

It’s 99% for more larger people – which is fine, but we need some 42, 36’s around here! So thankful that I found this store! P. S. He LOVES his new shoes! We’ll be shopping here Often!.

I am an Under Armour devotee. When I found these UA sneakers, it felt as if I had discovered gold! I live in an assisted living center with many other people who have medicinal and health needs. We are like a large family.

Word got out that my room is full of pink. So, these UA shoes were meant to be mine! We get many visitors. People always tell me that I have beautiful sneakers. I know for a fact that these are the most comfortable shoes.

I am a type 2 diabetic. I walk around several blocks to keep fit. It feels as if I were walking on clouds in the sky. I truly am in heaven.

Recently purchased Oct 2022 UA Charged Pursuit 3 (4E) wide and could not be more disappointed in the quality. No arch support, material allows foot to move around, sole is of low grade and hard, cushioning insole is not even & support of foot is low.

Very disappointed. Even my old pair of UA Charged Pursuit that I have had for many years & done thousands of kms in is still better quality and comfort now compared the new pair of UA Charged Pursuit 3 (4e) wide.

UA what have you done? Lowered your quality substantially in my view.

My feet are an 8. 5B (40 standard), and I have been using New Balance shoes for at least 15 years. I use green SuperFeet due to very low arches. This model is wonderful. My feet are comfortable when I run, I can be on my feet all day, and the black ones transition well from street to gym.

I find these MUCH better than the 1540s (I changed to this model because of the second paragraph of this review), but I miss this model so much. The 990s has enough depth in the back of the shoe so that my foot does not feel like flopping out, the toe box has enough space so that I don’t feel squeezed, and the laces are long enough.

However, while the bottoms of the shoes last a long time, the top mesh is not durable enough; I keep finding a hole into where the big toe is. Would this be because of the natural materials? If this were stronger material with the same structure, and if this model were vegan (I only just realized that it’s a natural material and feel really bad about the pig material), then I would never switch models of shoes.

Please offer a vegan version of this shoe, NB, and you will have a customer for life!.

Think twice before you buy these shoes. This was my 2nd ever pair of NB shoes (have always worn Nike). Within 3 months of purchase, a hole developed in the mesh on the top of my shoe right over my big toe.

BOTH pairs of NB shoes did that!! I have owned a lot of shoes in my 50+ years and never had this happen with any other brand!! I took them back to the New Balance store where I bought them and they said they could only give me credit for half the price I paid, and ONLY if I bought ANOTHER pair.

What a rip off! I Spent all this money and only got 3 months of use out of these shoes. I wish I had read the reviews because the same thing has happened to other people. Needless to say, I am extremely upset at wasting hundreds of dollars on NB shoes! If I could give zero stars I would.

First starting wearing 990’s over 10 years ago, on recommendation of a podiatrist. He wrote it down for me and I went straight to the local NB store. I am a senior woman with a wide foot due to bunionettes and walk 2-4 miles a day.

I wear 2 E comfortably in this style. I tried other NB styles but none have the consistent fit as these. Besides being wide enough, they are very comfortable in the arch. I have put Super Feet in them at times when more support is needed.

I do wish they would make them in a tan or khaki color. PLEASE! My local store closed permanently during the pandemic. I am very pleased with delivery and free return service ordering online from NB.

These are gorgeous shoes. I love the pig suede, so much softer and more pliable than cow suede. The fit was great and I have a slightly wide small foot. Didn’ have to go wide or size up. My only issues: 1) the price point is prohibitive for many — it’s too bad that MAde in USA has to be so far above a standard price.

I can acept a premium, but almost twice as much is tough to bear. 2) while the quality of the shoe in general is top quality, I was a bit disappointed in the way the tongue was sewn to the vamp. It’s attached roughly and sewn on only partially which allows the sides of the tongue at the front of the shoe to fold under.

I have to loosen the laces, stick my fingers in and spresd the tongue across my forefoot. Kind of a hassle. At his price point, I certau=inly would expect cleaner finishing in the interior.

After seeing pictures of these in hand, I decided I had to get them. Once receiving them, they were nothing short of the quality of NB that we’ve come to know. Plush materials, no sloppy glue stains, good craftsmanship.

These are also comfortable as well. The shoe fits true to size for me. For what it is worth, my size measures a 10E US on the Brannock device. Most if not all my Nike’s are in a size 10, except for Air Max 1’s which I go to 10.

Typically with my shoes I order a half size up because I have a pretty wide foot. NB’s tend to run large in my experience and decided to go true to size on these and see if they would fit more snug, while providing enough room for my foot.

They fit very well and have not experienced any discomfort yet. Typical NB high quality materials, fits me well, and great colorway!.

The Cloudstratus has been my to-go running shoes for the past 4 years! The previous model felt comfortable out-of-the-box, had a wide toe box and a breathable upper material. Because the outer material of the toe-box was made of a thin plastic layer, it was also resistant and offered protection when hitting my foot onto something hard.

The shoes were not the lightest but the cushioning was excellent, and it was great for long-distance runs! On recently upgraded the shoes and launched the new generation of the Cloudstratus. When I heard they had removed some of the protective and stability material to ditch some weight from the shoes, I was a bit skeptical and afraid that my new pairs would last less and that I would not like them anymore.

So far, I stand corrected: these shoes are still very comfortable, out-of-the-box. The heel cage is a bit shorter but still offers a quite secure feeling. The upper material is still very breathable but is now covered with a bit more resistant lining.

The combo with the double CloudTec cushioning (the two layers of holes that you can see) and the sturdy Speedboard offer a cushioned, yet responsive run. There is less rubber in the outsoles than in the original version of the Cloudstratus.

I always used all the rubber in the front and back of the shoes, but this happened beyond the time I had to switch them for new shoes. I purchased the new White – Green – Black colour and it looks super pretty.

However, it has gotten stubbornly dirty after a few rainy and wintery runs. I highly recommend these shoes if you are looking for cushioned and comfortable long-run shoes.

I don’t know what the two negative reviews are about. They’re saying they’re not cushioned enough. They’re trail shoes designed for running off-road which is already soft. SMH. I’ve had knee and calf problems in the past and after trying Brooks, Asics, Altras and others (about 2 miles in each shoe) these are by far the best.

These shoes are really grippy, great on trails, and even good enough to run on the road despite the fact their trail shoes. So if your run consists of both paved and trails, they’re perfect for it. I’ve put about 20 miles on them so far and no knee or calf pain that I get with other shoes (even when carrying sandbag uphill).

They seem to fit a little tight when your first put them on, but after about 30 seconds you get used to it. This is due to the liner which fits like a sock and is excellent at keeping debris, mulch and pebbles out of your shoe when running off-road.

The adjustable thingy on the laces is fantastic if your feet swell on long runs. It loosens your laces without untying your shoe. I cannot recommend these shoes enough. Fantastic trail shoes that can take a punishment on and off-road.

I decided to try this shoe out after wearing down the pair I’d been running in all of quarantine. These seemed really neat and cool on the rack and the REI salesperson who helped me said they were good for narrow feet, similar to the shoes I’d been running in previously.

I’ve never worn a pair of On shoes before and I was excited to try these out, but unfortunately I came up mildly disappointed. The big negative for me was that these shoes have little to no traction on wet concrete (sidewalks, roads, etc).

I found myself slipping and almost falling during my first walk in these on some slightly wet sidewalk, which seemed odd since I expected these to have good traction. I understand that these shoes are trail-running specific, and I run in trail running shoes purposefully because I prefer trails to roads.

But my usual routes require running on road or sidewalk in order to get to the trails, unless I wanted to drive which kinda ruins the run. I purchased these shoes in the summer and found that during the warm, dry summer months, that on the few runs I did with these that I had no traction issues on dry concrete or any of the trails.

I think these shoes probably have great traction on trails in any condition, but it was disappointing to have traction issues on wet concrete of all things. With summer coming to a close, I decided to not risk getting an injury and return them before the wet, fall weather arrived and get another pair of La Sportiva Bushido II’s since I had been running in those previously and knew they had great traction.

On the positive side, I did really enjoy the feel of these shoes. The toe-heel drop was a little higher than what I was running in previously but didn’t run into any issues. I found that these shoes provided a lot of bounce in my step and for the most part they were a fun shoe to run in.

The main issue was that most of the time I spent wearing them I was thinking about how bad the traction was and not focusing on my run. I think the ability to loosen or tighten the laces is a really cool feature and I utilized that on most of the runs I did with these.

Overall, this shoe is good, but I can’t get past the traction issues, especially since I live in an area that receives a lot of rain.

I really wanted to like this shoe. I was looking for something I could use for Orangetheory, where I would run 1. 5-2. 5 miles, four times a week, in addition to rowing and mild strength training. Working out intensely, stomping on these shoes with all-outs, it led to intense shin splints (which I’ve never had before) and bruising on my heal.

The shoe feels like concrete once you lift the super thin sole insert up. There was absolutely no cushion to soften my stride, nor arch support. The other downfall with this shoe is that it has absolutely no breathability so if you live in a hot climate like I do it will feel wildly uncomfortable.

When I added a much needed sole insert, it added even more heat insulation, and it felt like I was running with plastic bags wrapped around my feet. It was then I knew I needed to return the shoe. I’m just so thankful to rei for having such a stellar return policy.

I’ve been wearing my On Cloud running shoes for a few weeks now and believe I’ve logged enough miles to give a pretty fair review of them. Aesthetically I love them and they’ll probably become my go to travel sneakers.

The slick black style can easily go from workout to casual wear and very much like that. Immediately I noticed that they are not as cushioned as my traditional running shoes which I normally wear a Brooks or Asic.

On Cloud does makes a more cushioned version but it’s not this pair. I prefer low socks or no socks and even after being broken in I find that they still rub the back of my ankles not to the point of blisters or bleeding but noticeable irritation.

I’ve caught two rocks in the unique sole design. I’ve seen review were people complain a lot about getting rocks stuck. I don’t think it’s extremely common but it will happen. They’re a well made shoe and I look forward to continuing to wear the pair I’ve purchased, however, for the price I guess I was expecting a bit more.

This is my second pair. I notice On was phasing this specific style out, so I went ahead and bought a backup pair. I have massive feet pain from years of wearing heels and running marathons and for a while, after a hairline fracture, I thought I’d never run again.

Every shoe hurt, even brands I’d run in before: Saucony, Brooks, whatever. Normal sneakers hurt me too, just walking around/shopping/etc. On the recommendation of a friend, I actually bought the first pair just to walk around on a 2 week trip in Europe, and I couldn’t believe how unbelievably light they were.

They weight almost nothing and after they gave me zero pain during the Europe trip, I decided to try to run in them and lo and behold, no pain. I tried other models of Cloud running shoes, and these were the most comfortable for me.

I bought these for work where I typically walk around 7miles/25k steps a day in (according to my phone) a day in. The first few hours of breaking them was okay, the discomfort was minimal but by the end of the night I was impressed.

I felt like I could go another 10,000 steps in them. The usual heel pain I’d have at the end of the night is gone with these. They’re very cushiony and work well with mid-high arches. Standing up was nice too and I didn’t feel like dragging my feet or sitting down.

As far as sizing goes, I went up to a size 7. 5 instead of my usual size 7 as they run small. As far as appearance goes, the mesh on the toebox will show your socks pretty good lol so don’t wear any scandalous ones.

There’s also reflective font on the shoes which comes in handy at night. I’m happy with my purchase and hope they hold up well.

Excellent cushion through the heel; does indeed feel more cushion than other shoes! Sparse through the toes and forefoot. This shoe was perfect for me as a narrow foot person who wanted lots of heel and mid-foot cushion for standing at work all day.

My heels feel much better and I can shift my weight a little and feel the cushion massage. I think with my running stance landing more on the front of the foot, I would want more cushion there (if I was to wear these running).

For trail running in particular, I would want a stiffer sole and more insulation at the front.

I was developing shin splints even when running on soft surfaces. These were recommended to me and they’ve been working great! They are on the more heavily cushioned side and the textured bottom is great for trail running/running outdoors.

I also use them as walking shoes when I’m traveling because they are super comfortable. They do not feel overly heavy but may not be a good fit if you’re going for a super light construction for track workouts or cross training (they are a tiny bit wide and your feet will slide around during lateral movements).

I usually wear a 9 and purposefully bought a 9. 5 to have a more roomy fit when running.

Very disappointed with this shoe. When I went to the Chicago Lincoln Park store and mentioned to the associate that I’d be running in the New Balance Fresh Foams for the past 10 years, these Swiss shoes were recommended.

Initially seemed like a great fit and quite comfortable but after running a handful of times in them, my feet have continued to hurt. I’ve never had issues with my feet before whether running in Fresh Foams or even barefoot for that matter.

I feel like I was taken for paying $140 and will be going back to the Fresh Foams which are considerably cheaper.
