20 Best Power Bank For Macbook Pro (2023 Updated)

Big fan of Anker products. This charger does not disappoint. Solves two problems as a solid power bank with a fast charger. GaN the way to go with fast chargers. Anker makes a reasonable priced product for this type of technology.

I researched this over several months and was on the fence but decided to purchase it when it was on sale. I am pleasantly surprised by the performance. Many of the reviews had me worried about the reliability but after a month of use I have to give this 5 stars.

I have used this on several backpacking trips to charge my Android phone and a single charge on the Sherpa gave me 4. 5 cell phone recharges. I have used it twice with my laptop and have no complaints but didn’t take it below 50% on either occasion.

I did charge the Sherpa completely before using it and drained it down to 0% on the first two uses. So far no complaints.

Really useful. Just 2 cons, is that the power bank size is kind of huge and kind of heavy, but still really useful.

The first thing I noticed about this power bank was the design. It’s very sleek and stylish and I like that it has a digital display that shows the remaining battery life. The front and back are covered in a linen canvas fabric that is very attractive.

It’s the perfect size so I think this will be great for travel. It comes with the laptop power bank, USB-C to USB-C cable, USB-C to USB-A adapter and Instruction manual. It has a 20,000mAh battery pack that gives 63W output.

I like that it has multiple ports so that you can charge more than one device at a time. I was able to get a lot of use out of this power bank before having to recharge the device. The power bank also has fast charging as well which I love.

This power bank is compatible with all USB-C devices and I am very satisfied with this power bank.

I bought this product last year and everything was fine. Suddenly, it randomly started charging! I’ve never left it outside or in hot places. I’ve taken very good care of it as it costed me over $300 to buy.

Now it’s not working , When I charge it, after 30 seconds, it says 100%. When I unplugged the charger, it turned off completely, but now there is no response. Do not waste your time to correspond with the Company because they will not help you to fix it or give you a solution.

Very pleased with the charger. The USB-C capabilities mean I can charge my Nintendo Switch while on the go. The wireless charging is a cool plus, makes it easy to charge an iPhone with wireless charging support quick and easy.

I would note that it does not come with what you would consider a traditional charger to charge the battery. It has cables included but no wall outlet adapter. That is not a big deal for me, as I have a nice USB-C MacBook charger which charges this just fine.

But if you don’t already have one, then you might want to consider how you are going to charge this bad boy before you buy.

This is my second Anker portable battery. I stuck with the Anker brand because the first portable battery I bought 5+ years ago was superb for its time. Now, I wanted something with more capacity than simply the capacity to charge my old MotoX phone.

Size/Weight: Basically, it is the size of your larger cell phones (i. e. 6. 5″ phones) in footprint and double the thickness. It has some weight to it because it is, after all, nothing but battery encased in a plastic shell.

Design: Nice textured matte finish with the Anker name engraved on it. It has a button similar to an old-school iPhone that when pressed will show you up to 4 blue lights–each representing 25% charge left on the battery.

If you see 3 lights, for example, when you press the button, you have between 50-75% battery charge left. It has 2 USB-A ports (the “old” rectangle USB port) and a USB-C port. Usage: I let my Motorola One Ace run nearly all the way dead and put it on the Anker charger.

The phone said it would take approximately 1. 5 hours to fully charge. Effectively that is a 10% charge every 9 minutes. USB-A charging is at 2. 4A while USB-C charges at 3A (or that’s how I understand it to be).

Unfortunately, this is not as fast as my Motorola TurboCharge wall charger that came with the phone. I do not know for certain, but I suspect that is because Motorola TurboCharge is a proprietary “motorola thing.

” Nonetheless, the charge from battery to phone is not unreasonable. However. I found the time to charge the battery to be slower than I had hoped. I am not an electrical engineer, but I know enough that Motorola Turbo Charge and QuickCharge 3.

0 are not the same thing. Nonetheless, I had hoped for faster brick charge times from my 18W wall charger and cable. The world of “chargers” and charging protocols is fairly complicated so “results may vary” for phones, cables, and wall chargers.

Charging the brick from empty to 100% with my 18W 5V/3A charger took well over 4 hours. [Full disclosure, I checked on it after 4-5 hours and it was not full so I left it charging overnight so I cannot speak to exact amount of time but BB says approx.

7. 5 hrs to full charge. ]. Perhaps Anker has some documentation to clear up all the standards and how all that works. Conclusion: As mentioned, this is a nice upgrade from my previously very reliable Anker charger.

As an added bonus, I have the ability to charge up to 3 devices at once (2 USB-A, 1 USB-C port) and I should be able to fill my phone with charge 5-6 times before I need to recharge the brick. The brick is best recharged overnight as it does take some time to reach 100% full.

Sitting unused, the Anker PowerCore III 20K holds its charge very well. The product comes with a nice drawstring sleeve to hold the charger. I suppose you could tuck your USB cable(s) in the bag along with the brick if your cables are short.

This is not the right battery to rely on for charging large devices like a laptop however I suppose in theory, given enough time, it could charge a laptop. It is best suited for phones, tablets, portable speakers and headphones.

This model does NOT provide wireless charging.

Power banks are one of those products where it’s really hard to be sure if what you’re getting is actually worth the price you pay, which is why I’m glad that companies like Anker exist. There’s nothing too complicated about their power banks, but they can generally be trusted to do a very good job selecting good parts and practicing stringent quality control.

As a result I’ve found that Anker power banks tend to outlast those from pretty much any other brand I’ve tried. While I haven’t had much time to spend with the PowerCore III, I haven’t found anything to suggest that it’ll break the trend.

The unit is definitely chunky, but not overly so given how high the capacity is. The casing is a mix of metal and molded plastic, with a slight crosshatch pattern on the top panel that makes it a lot more visually interesting than the usual nondescript black bricks Anker is known for.

Charging the bank itself is about as fast as you can expect for a battery this size, and it easily lasted a few days of occasional use charging my Pixel 3XL and my roommate’s phone before I needed to top it up again.

I even tried using it to top up my laptop at one point. While the output isn’t quite fast enough to keep up with the thing while it’s turned on, it was a nice fallback to have when I found myself without my charger.

And despite what it may say in the description, the USB-C port works as an output just as well as it does an input. Accessories are very basic, with a mesh drawstring carrying bag and a single USB A to C cable that’s about three feet long.

Getting a C to C cable would have been nice as it does seem that the USB C port is the only one that lets it charge at full PD speeds, but that’s an easy oversight to correct on your own. It’s certainly not the kind of product that’ll set the world on fire.

But for a lithium ion battery, I think that “reliable” is more than enough. If you’re looking for a battery in this range, I doubt you’ll go wrong with this one.

Huge fan of Anker for many years and I never leave home without one! I had a few of Anker’s older charges that were about 10k mAh and they were HEAVY. Literally felt like I was carrying a brick in my backpack.

So I decided to pick up this PowerCore III 10k mAh to replace the older ones. —————————————— What I liked: —————————————— – First off. it is a lot lighter than the other power banks I’ve had but it still weighs almost as much as my iPhone 12 pro with its case on.

– It has a nice texture on one side and a smooth matte surface on the other. Which makes it really difficult to get smudges on it. – Can charge my iPhone 12 Pro at least 2. 5 x on a single charge – Charges fairly quick! – Charge two devices at once using USB A port – Comes with the signature Anker mesh carrying bag —————————————— What I was disappointed by: —————————————— – a bit too basic, for a budget power bank, I guess I could let this pass but I was expecting to be able to use the USB C port as an output and an input aka be able to charge the power bank and my device using the USB C port.

Instead, you are left with the two standard USB A outputs to use. Probably not a huge deal-breaker but as most of my devices have converted to using the USB C cables, I was hoping for a little more. -as I mentioned above, although it is lighter than my previous power banks, it is still heavy and quite long.

It’s definitely not something that I would put in my pocket but wouldn’t mind throwing it in my backpack for emergency use. —————————————— Overall: —————————————— Overall, it’s still a pretty good product for a basic power bank, and would highly recommend it if you or the person you’re gifting it to uses USB A cables.

But if you’re like me who has 90% converted to USB C, I’d browse the other Anker USB-C output power bank instead.

Charges my iPhone faster that my other powerbank. However, it appears that it could only charge up my 13 Pro Max once. After that, it’s dead. Also, i dont like how the LED lights on the powerbank don’t turn off until you actually unplug any cables attached to it.

It stays on until the batter is eventually drained. For the great price that i got it for, can’t really say much. But i prefer my non-branded powerbank (even though it is slower at charging) because it can charge up my phone more times.

Just got the Xiaomi 12 Pro and although its battery life is known not to be the best (runs pretty low compared to my previous Redmi Note 10 Pro), I just tried to charge it with the Power Bank. Got it from 19% to 100% in less than half an hour (in the 20 something minutes cap).

This is faster than the 30w charger that comes with the phone and you can see it working at 55w. So if you don’t feel like ordering the 120w charger from Aliexpress, this is definitely the next best thing! Super impressed!.

Perfect for my school laptop which can never last the day. Powerful enough to charge my laptop and also keep my mates laptop charged at the same time if they run out as well. Great solution when it’s hard to find a power point in old school classrooms.

I don’t take my power adapter to school anymore, just this power bank.

Ok wow iv always wanted too buy an Anker power pack as I know that they typically sell high quality parts. I decided too buy this one because I have been looking for a power pack that is able too pass threw power with USB C wile charging with USB C.

This alone was worth paying the price for, but when I received it I noticed it has a lot more features like being able too show you how many wats it pulling and pushing and how long the power pack will last.

When I saw it can push 140W I suspected that this meant combined between all 3 usb ports, but it can actually output 140w from one of the USB ports. FYI, most other powerpacks you see online will make it seem it can output 60W, when the truth would be each port can only output a maximum of 15w each.

Bought this specifically to travel with a Steam Deck. It’s able to charge it about one and a half times (depending on various factors). I ran the deck down to 3% on a flight – plugged this in and it was able to not only keep it running but also charge it pretty quickly as well.

It can pass through charge enabling so I was able to charge both this and the deck concurrently using one charger and one USB C cable. Really like the screen showing the input / output values as well as the number of battery cycles.

All in all great product.

The battery charges my phone and my tablet quickly. It did not seem to want to charge my Dell laptop via USB-C, but that’s not why I bought it so I didn’t really dig into why it wasn’t working. One thing that is kind of annoying is that the level indicator lights are wildly inaccurate to the point of being basically useless.

With my pack it will display 4 lights (aka “full charge”) until the battery pack is nearly empty. My phone battery was at 57% when I plugged it into the external battery pack to charge, and the battery pack level indicator was showing all 4 lights still.

Next thing I know my phone had stopped charging at 83% and the battery pack was just showing one flashing LED (aka empty). My phone only has a 4500mAh battery so there is no way that charging my phone battery up 26% would take the external pack from >75% to <25%.

My guess is that it stays at 4 LEDs as long as possible in order to exaggerate it’s capacity. It *is* a large capacity pack and can charge multiple devices before it goes empty, but because the level indicator LEDs are so inaccurate, it’s almost impossible to put the pack into a “storage charge” which is around 70% charge or so and helps extend the long-term health of the battery when it’s not being used.

Annoying but whatever.

This does not hold a charge for a meaningful amount of time. Died in 3 months, probably why I got this for $30 on clearance and its not even worth that, let alone full retail. I originally was going to keep this in my car and charge it every couple days but after a week, it started to die quickly.

After another week, it started only charging up to half way. Today (less than 2 months after purchase) it completely died and will not charge at all. Luckily right before the return window closed. My $20 anker usb 2.

0 battery bank that I got in 2016 holds its charge seemingly indefinitely and still works perfectly 6 years later. I was expecting the same except usb c from this product and was very disappointed. Finally, this thing is massive, 3.

3 x 7 inches. Which was my first complaint when I thought the battery actually worked.

Absolutely love finally being able to charge my laptop without an outlet nearby. Note that some laptops don’t play nice with lower power chargers due to the way manufacturers don’t adhere to the proper USB power delivery specification.

This will mostly apply to higher power gaming/production laptops. My 2020 Dell XPS 15 with a GTX 1650 charges just fine with this and even works with lower power chargers like a 45W I have. My work laptop is an HP ZBook 15 G6 with a Quadro RTX 3000 card and it will not charge with this, though this is completely HP’s fault and not an issue with the charger.

I’m not entirely surprised as HP has been worse than others about following the proper USB power delivery specification, but still slightly annoying.

Die Powerbank von Xlayer wird mit einer Kurzen und simplen Anleitung und einem USB Typ – C Kabel geliefert. Das Kabel allerdings ist mit seinen 10-15cm aber definitiv zu kurz! Auch ein Adapter zum Aufladen ist nicht vorhanden.

Hat man weder ein Usb auf usb C Kabel mit Adapter im Haus oder eine Möglichkeit das mitgelieferte USB C Kabel irgendwo anzuschließen, ist man schon aufgeschmissen. Die Xlayer Powerbank ist etwas größer als das Vergleichsmodell und minimal schwerer.

Dafür ist sie schmaler. Vom Optischen her, passt sie wunderbar zu den Apple Geräten, sei es iPhone oder Macbook. Die Powerbank besitzt 2 normale Usb Anschlüsse und einen Typ C Anschluss. Somit können 3 Geräte gleichzeitig geladen werden.

Im Vergleich kann die RavPower zwar auch 3 Geräte gleichzeitig laden, aber bietet hier unterschiede z. B mit Quick Charge. Dies besitzt die Xlayer leider nicht und das macht sich in den Ladezeiten der Powerbank bemerkbar.

So benötigt diese knapp 12-15 h. Für eine volle Aufladung. Das schafft die RavPower mit Quick Charge in guten 8 h. Das laden eines Macbook Pro 15“ ist damit überhaupt nicht möglich. Dafür ist der Output der Powerbank zu niedrig.

Wir haben versucht das Macbook über Nacht mit dieser Powerbank zu laden und am nächsten Morgen mussten wir leider feststellen, das die Powerbank als auch das Macbook vom Akkustand leer waren. Bitter, dafür das dick und fett auf der Verpackung damit geworben wird.

Ich gehe davon aus, das dies wahrscheinlich nur mit 13“ Macbooks funktioniert, da diese einen geringeren Output benötigen. Die Benutzung der Xlayer Powerbank mit einem Smartphone funktioniert da gegen einwandfrei.

Gute 4-5 volle Akku Ladungen sind damit möglich. Für das einfache Laden von Smartphones kann ich diese Powerbank mit bestem Gewissen empfehlen. Wenn es aber ums Laden der Macbooks geht, rate ich eher davon ab.

TranslateShow in original languageOptisch ist es super, wie flach die Powerbank ist. Man kann es in einer kleinen Tasche überall mitnehmen. Ist etwas in die Länge gezogen, ist aber auch keine Mini-Powerbank sondern eine mit 20100 mAh.

Das Gehäuse fühlt sehr hochwertig und stabil an. Dafür wiegt es aber auch ein bisschen mehr. Das Smartphone wird sehr schnell aufgeladen. Ist somit unterwegs top geeignet, wenn man am Smartphone kein Saft mehr hat und auf die Schnelle wieder zugreifen möchte.

Das beste daran ist, dass man mehrere Geräte gleichzeitig aufladen kann.
