Powder blush is a cosmetic product that is typically used to add color to the cheeks. It is available in a variety of colors, and can be applied using a brush or a sponge. Powder blush is typically more sheer than cream or liquid blushes, and is a good option for mature skin because it can be less likely to settle into fine lines and wrinkles.

Bobbi Brown Peony Blush
Get a radiant and glowing skin with this matte finish blush
Lightweight formula makes it easy to apply and absorb on the skin
Bobbi Brown Eye Shadow is a silky, matte formula glides on smoothly and blends easily. Available in a range of shades for lids, lining eyes, and defining brows. Comes in a sleek, fliptop compact that can be used individually or assembled into 3 Pan, 4 Pan, or 6 Pan Palettes sold separately.
I really like Bobbi Brown blushes, own four at present – more than Sephora it seems. They are the only luxury brand blush that I’ll seek out and willingly pay for, for good reasons. They are highly pigmented and wearable shades that are versatile across ages, skintones and gender, smooth and natural-skin looking, completely non-powdery, so while you only get a small amount of product, you only use a tiny amount per application and this blush will last longer than a powdery blush three times the size.
Molecular logic. Pale Pink looks afright until you try it on and see that it mimics your inner flush, the one you had as a temperamental teen and are always trying to replicate. I am fair-light toned with warm olive and peach undertones, and this looks so much more natural on me than warmer blushes.
I expect that it would be even more flattering on deeper skintones. As always with blush, application method and tools matter. This requires light application, so I use the designated RT blush brush for light application (think bristles fewer and further between for this).
Because it’s so non-powdery I don’t even need to buff it in. My skin already looks natural without buffing. BB is the only brand of powder blush that I can say that about. Over the years I have tried several shades, each one working well.
This says a lot about the sensible shade creation going on a BB, and another reason this blush is so successful, so dependable and does not feel like a waste of money. And these have sturdy, minimalist packaging (though plastic) so you aren’t paying for the splendor (or nuisance) of bulky, decorative packaging that ensures it’s not easily travelled.
I could not care less about what makeup looks like on my shelf or desk, I care a great deal more about what it looks like on me. These are the best blushes I have tried. I am a blush-nut now that my makeup interests have altered to focus on healthy looking skin rather than bright eyes or sultry lips.
I was a fan of the OLD Bobbi Brown cosmetics for many years. The colors were soft and natural-looking. There was a creamy blush that was wonderful and by now I realize it is gone and never coming back.
Two shades–Sandwashed Pink and Desert Rose–were perfect with my reddish undertones, fair skin, freckles that have become age spots, and green eyes. I took a chance that this would be a close approximation of one of those.
Unfortunately, this Desert Pink has a strong pigment that is almost magenta on my skin. Harsh and unnatural. Back it went and I’m back to wishing!.
I ordered “Slopes” hoping it was a brownie-pink as it appeared on my computer monitor. It is a VERY DARK pink. The description is accurate – a flushed pink – like the flush you might have after coming down a ski slope.
Unfortunately, I ordered this blush based on the color as it appeared, rather than as described. So beware. Also, a little goes a long way with BB blushes, I know because I have many of them. I would give this product 5 stars if there were more variety in the colors offered.
The blushes are all very similar with little variation – some more bright pink or more peach, but basically they are very similar. I was hoping to replace a BB limited edition Brightening Blush called “Pink Truffle” which was a cool toned brownie-pink.
It looked very natural on my skin. “Slopes” is too dark and bright for my light-medium tone skin.

I bought this in store after seeing the consistently high reviews online. I wanted to test the colors before buying. The color Aplum is like no other-almost lavender compared to most blushes available, which really is subtle for my cool/light skin.
I can use it as contour, too. I have been using loose powder blush for many many years, and wasn’t sure I would like the pressed powder. But whether I use the included brush or a bigger tapered blush brush that I’ve always used with loose powder, there isn’t any mess left in the pan, and the coverage is buildable and natural.
Even at 47, I have oily combination skin sensitive to products and prone to breakouts. This doesn’t irritate my skin, nor does it look oily at the end of the day. And it hasn’t transferred at all to masks or clothing.
I have not worn Lancome blush before. I typically wear Chanel, Gucci, Laura Mercier, Dior, and Clinique, I chose the color Miel Glace and I absolutely love it. I have light skin that tends towards dry and this goes on smoothly without looking flat.
I typically choose some form of pink or peach but this is much more neutral, almost appearing like a bronzer in the pan but it’s not. It has a hint of pink/peach to it so it adds life without looking clown like or too heavy.
It goes on almost like a mix between a matte and a satin finish, not glowy but like I stated earlier, it’s not flat. It is an easy color to pair with any eye and lip look.
I was looking for a blush and got this Lancôme on a whim, not knowing much about it. Blushing Tresor is not “light pink matte” as it says on the site here. it’s a richer warm pink color with gold pearl (along the lines of Nars orgasm- rich, juicy, not light) the golden pearl is truly luminescent: it doesn’t read as glitter or shimmer, really.
Just radiant, plump skin with a bit of warm sheen. This blush seriously over delivered. I was hesitant after I realized upon checkout how expensive it is, but it makes sense: the color is beautiful, it blends beautifully, with a light hand it’s nearly fool proof, and it works for minimal as well as full glam makeup.
I have fair skin and this shade works beautifully with a light touch, I can imagine it working well on many tan and deeper skin tones as well. Lancôme just reminded me why it’s been around for so long.

Matches the description really. It’s highlight pigmentated so the array of colours come through nicely on any skin tone. Me myself I am of Asian Pakistani ethnicity with medium coloured skin and if there’s anyone with similar skin reading this – I can assure you you won’t regret it! It can be applied for a more dramatic look or lightly for a softer look.
That’s the beauty of it. It’s a must have product that can be used no matter the occasion. Or even if it’s everyday wear too. There’s lots of different possibilities with the colours either on their own or if mixed together.
It isn’t like one of those flimsy mixed blush palettes you see knocking around that blow off like dust. The packaging itself is super trendy but it’s the colours inside that says it all. I can’t say it enough how much I LOVE this ❤ ❤ ❤.
I think I’ve ordered just about every product Karity has and I’ve loved every single one of them. The eye shadows have the best color intensity and last all day as do the lip colors. Even tried their skin care and I love it.
These blushes and bronzers are awesome! Great value for the dollars spent.

I got the Chocolate Orange Truffle blush quad. Now I would like more ‘flavours’ of quads! The quad I got have quite light peachy blushes that lean very slightly orange. They give (in my opinion) a very beautiful & natural flush of colour to your cheeks.
They are not overly pigmented right away , which I prefer, but can be built up to your desired effect. Also depends on what type of brush you are using. Due to the blushes being buildable I would say these are good for a beginner or someone who is not that confident in blush placement ( like myself who is still learning!) as they are buildable and very blendable.
I think they look very nice on my fair/ light skin. I’m not sure that a skin tone past medium would get away with these particular colours but there are plenty more colours in the range, I myself am eager to try more as I think it’s an easy formula to work with.
Featuring pastel colors inspired by dried fruits, this blush series helps to create a “my cheeks but better” look with natural hues and silky finishes. Formulated with sweat and sebum-absorbing powder for a long-lasting, refreshing finish.

Reviews From Real Customers
I have light-medium olive skin tone. This was my first lavander-type color blush so i was scarred it might not fit me but i actually love it! If you’re ever on the fence about trying one do it! Its soo worth it! The color looks like a muted pink-purple, kinda like when you get that exercise-flush going on.
Its super pretty, I cant recomend this enough! Tee powder doesnt stay that long (ice been using masks) and it has a tiny bit of fallout. It matifies and blurs your skin so it looks very soft. I love it!.
With a beautifully buildable, satin-matte finish fit for beauty royalty (that’s you, by the way), LYS Beauty’s Higher Standard Satin Matte Cream Blush is a soft cream blush that can be worn as a light tint of colour or built up for a full-pigmented flush.
Choose from six shades, each infused with skin-loving ingredients that will continue to benefit your complexion long after you’ve taken off your make up. Alongside this is avocado oil, which helps to boost skin’s moisture levels even further. Finally, there’s vitamin E, a powerful antioxidant which nourishes skin while protecting it against damage caused by free radicals.

Additionally, powder blush can help to create a more defined and sculpted look to the cheeks, which can help to give the face a more lifted and youthful appearance.
How do you apply powder blush on mature skin?
Powder blush can be applied with a brush, sponge, or directly with the fingers. When using a brush, tap off any excess powder before applying to the skin. When using a sponge, wet the sponge first and then tap off any excess before applying to the skin.
To apply with the fingers, simply dip the fingers into the powder and then apply to the skin.
What are the best shades of powder blush for mature skin?
There are a few things to consider when choosing the best shades of powder blush for mature skin. First, you want to choose a shade that will complement your skin tone. If you have a cool skin tone, you might want to choose a pink or mauve shade.
If you have a warm skin tone, you might want to choose a peachy or coral shade. You also want to consider the finish of the blush. If you want a natural look, you might want to choose a matte finish.
If you want a more youthful look, you might want to choose a blush with a slight shimmer.
What are the tips for choosing the right powder blush for mature skin?
There are a few tips to choosing the right powder blush for mature skin. First, avoid powder blushes with shimmer as they can highlight wrinkles. Second, go for a powder blush that is slightly darker than your natural skin tone as this will help to create a contoured look.
Third, choose a matte powder blush as opposed to one with a dewy finish. Finally, make sure to test the powder blush on your skin before purchasing to ensure that it is the right color and formula for you.
How do you know if powder blush is right for your mature skin?
The best way to determine if your skin tone is right for a particular powder blush is to test it out on your skin. Apply a small amount of the blush to your cheeks and blend it in well. If the color looks natural and flattering on your skin, then it is the right shade for you.
If the color is too light or too dark, or if it looks chalky or unnatural, then it is not the right shade for you.
What are the common mistakes people make when choosing powder blush for mature skin?
One of the most common mistakes people make when choosing powder blush for mature skin is choosing a shade that is too light. A light shade of blush can make your skin look washed out and accentuate wrinkles.
Another mistake is choosing a shade that is too dark. A dark shade of blush can make your skin look muddy and accentuate wrinkles. The best way to choose a powder blush for mature skin is to find a shade that is somewhere in between light and dark.
Another tip is to choose a shade with a bit of shimmer. Shimmer will help to brighten your skin and make you look more youthful.
How do you avoid making those mistakes when choosing powder blush for mature skin?
When choosing powder blush for mature skin, you want to avoid any blush with shimmer or glitter as this will accentuate wrinkles and pores. You also want to stay away from anything too matte as this can look dry and cakey.

Conclusion

When choosing a powder blush, look for one that is finely milled and has a matte finish, which will help to create a natural-looking result.
