20 Best No Iron Shirts Consumer Reports (2023 Updated)

This shirt from Van Heusen really surprised and impressed me, and my wife, and my coworkers! I haven’t owned many articles of clothing from Van Heusen, but that is absolutely about to change. The colors are bold, the pattern pleasing, and both have maintained through numerous washings.

It fits as expected, and is long enough to stay tucked even when I have to move around a lot for my job (I’m a wedding photographer). The collar stays crisp even after a long day of wear. The fabric is comfortable, which is essential after a hard day at work.

I’ve received several compliments about the shirt, which is icing on the cake! I can dress it up with a tie and sports jacket, or wear it untucked with a pair of jeans. which is great for someone who travels a lot for work – I need versatile clothing so I can pack light.

I would definitely recommend this shirt. and I will definitely get more projects for the Van Heusen line!.

When this shirt came in, I loved the color and the material, but I have a couple issues I want to address. PROS: Color Material, really lightweight, great for summer. CONS: The sleeves are too dang poofy.

The packaging was TERRIBLE. Whoever decided the little plastic bits are better than metal pins needs to wake up. They are annoying, and hard to cut without damaging the shirt. They are tight on the fabric so they left more holes than regular pins, and weeks later, I am still stepping on them around my room since they get lost once you cut them off.

Incredibly annoying.

This shirt is very nice, with this being said it was very hard to open it had a type of string attached so when you pull it would break and it did cause a hole in the collar of shirt. I would much prefer a more simple approach to unboxing shirt as this caused a bit of damage.

I must say the shirt is very detailed and nicely colored. I love the side pocket, looks like a button up that would be perfect for a professional setting. This product washes great and does not shirk when dried, the color has stayed very nice after multiple washes.

The fit is very comfortable and not to loose, I would definately recommend this shirt to others.

I honestly didn’t have real high expectations when ordering this because the photo did not do it justice. I was very surprised at the total look of this tunic! It really is very nice. The fabric has a slight stretch and is very soft.

I ordered the black and was glad to see it didn’t have a shine to it as some black does. I am 5’5” 134# and ordered a size 6. It hits me well below my “bum” which is perfect because I plan to wear it with leggings.

One thing I might mention is it does flair out a bit (not too much) on the sides, but it’s part of the appeal for me. It’s also advertised as not needing ironing which will be a plus. **The only negative thing I noticed is it is sold online at Nordstrom for $118, but the manufacturer tag reflects a price of $108 (picture attached).

I plan to call Nordstrom for a price adjustment ~ we’ll see what they say! That being said, this is a lovely classic addition to your wardrobe. You won’t be sorry!.

I so wanted to love this shirt, but I purchased it in the Alpine and Wild Rose colors, and both were very different than pictured. The Alpine was more of a muted, dusty shade of the teal that I had expected.

The Wild Rose was not the coral color that was pictured, it was very much more pink (as the name wild rose implies). I don’t think the color issues were because of my browser, because I have purchased other Nordstrom items that look exactly as pictured.

Just be aware that the colors might be slightly different than shown.

I’m ever on the lookout for a tunic length (aka cover the hips and bum) that is classic. This Blue Whisper fits the bill. I’ve never had a Foxcroft garment before, but I like this quality. The fabric is much nicer that it appears on the screen.

The blue is beautiful. I’m usually a small or extra small. I got the 4. It’s a little big, and a 2 would probably work. A very pleasant surprise for an unexpectedly nice top.

R&Y should get high reviews for this dress shirt. It has great lines, strong stitching, sturdy buttons. It launders well at home but will require pressing and sizing for that dry cleaner pro finish look.

I like that the fabric isn’t so thick that it wears perfectly underneath the blazer. The fabric is a very bright white and holds its color through many washings. The fitted cut gives me a tailored look.

The tails are long enough to stay tucked. This is a great classic white cotton shirt that every man should have more than one of in the closet for those moments.

I had not purchased any Land’s End product in years. Recently I found myself in need of some business-casual, button-down, short- and long-sleeve shirts. I had always been a Van Heusen guy, but couldn’t find anything I liked.

anywhere, any brand. Then I remembered Land’s End having decent stuff. Found these online, ordered them, received them fairly quickly. Frankly, I was shocked (OK, very pleasantly surprised) at the quality of these shirts.

Substantial fabric (not think/see-through), great cut/fit (classic fit), great construction, generous shirttails for tuccking, and impressive little details like the sideways buttonhole at the bottom.

And the price!! Dang, I don’t remember exactly what I paid, but it was definitely less than what I’d been paying for other dress shirts over the years. I’ve already been back to Land’s End online to buy more.

I have been buying Land’s End shirts for over 20 years. They used to be made of high-quality cloth that was durable, had a great feel, would not rapidly fray, and never rip wide open by surprise with normal wear.

This fraying and ripping has happened with several of my Land’s End oxford shirts over the past few years, and with two over the past month. It NEVER happened before. Obviously Land’s End decided the previous shirts were lasting too long, so they redesigned them to fall apart after less than a year’s wear.

This way, people have to buy them more often. Note also, they did something similar to cheapen their dress pants. At least the oxford shirt is nice up until it starts to prematurely fall apart. Very bad business model Land’s End.

Sizing of both shirts is not accurate as they are both larger than what I normally get. I have other shirts from Lands’ End what are the same size but fit me better. These are approximately one full size larger than I should be.

These are mostly cotton and so there is a chance they may shrink up a little. The quality of the shirts has gone down as the fabric is much thinner than it used to be. It also took five months to get these shirts.

I have been purchasing Land’s End products for 30 years, and I’ve never had a product we of these qualities before. I am in hopes things will settle back down and they will go back to the quality product they used to be.

A really good comfortable shirt. This is my second. I found it difficult to find a black shirt that died, but this fits the bill. I wore my first frequently so it was washed often, but maintained the colour for a long time.

It’s slightly less black than it was, but still looks okay. The reason why I went for a replacement is because the cuffs are wearing, but just through wear and tear. I’d have no hesitation in recommending this shirt for its quality wearability and very good price.

I looked fae and wide for a poplin truely none iron shirt for ages before finding these, they are great shirts. I am not as fit as I would like to be and have a more rounded shape {lol} and I find the body fit to be great, they are lose fitting.

I cant fasten the coller on my 17 inch coller shirt but the body is big enough to hide my portley apperence, the next full size up is 18 and the body is HUGE. I wrote to this company several times but they didnt reply, I cant imagine why they have not set their sizes like everyone elses?, IF you but a shirt to fasten for a tie the body will be HUGE, thats the only fault.

The quality of the shirt is just disappointing considering that it costed £90 when first bought. Additionally, because I needed a size up, I saw that the shirts actual price was only £60 this time because I got a new receipt… a £30 difference for the same shirt?! Didn’t get any money back for The difference in Price… Insane scheme, would advice people to find a proper company with prices that don’t change.

I was really excited to get my white Slim Fit Long Sleeve Button-Down Shirt for Men. I love to wear white Button-Down shirts under my suit jacket. I like to be traditional when it comes to wearing a suit and when I have to attend a job interview or something more traditional, I’ll wear a white Button Down.

The shirt fit well, it’s made a good material, and it’s a nice bright white color. I would be interested to see if this is available in other colors! The shirt was very comfortable to wear, and my tie fits into the collar well.

This is a very high-quality white shirt. The materials that it is made of are perfect and feel great to the skin. I love that I can wear the shirt to the office, a wedding, or a nice date and it is a perfect fit.

There is nothing fancy about the shirt but it is designed very well and fits perfectly. I would highly highly recommend this shirt to anyone in the market. You cannot go wrong with a classic white button up for so many occasions.

Super comfy shirt that fits great. Not too bulky around the midsection which is important to me. I have broad shoulders and a narrowing waistline and this shirt fits great. True fit as well. Comfortable around the neck and the sleeves are a great length.

Best part is this shirt just keeps getting softer with every wash. I can wear this shirt all day with no issues. Could probably even play a pick up game of basketball in it. Love this shirt. Highly Recommend.

This button-down, long-sleeved shirt is great for a number of reasons. I am a fan of plaid shirts and this one is a subtle mixture of blues, green and lilac, but is predominantly dark blue. These colors go really nicely together.

There is a hint of orange in there somewhere too. The material is soft to the touch and therefore feels great next to my skin. It is also quite stretchy which allows it to be more breathable. I definitely feel cooler in this shirt as a result.

The biggest plus is the shorter length. I am not overly tall and regular length shirts are usually too long for me. This one is perfect in all respects. I am a casual kind of guy and so wearing it untucked is not a problem for me.

Having said that, it still looks smart paired with a pair of pants, and is suitable for wearing to the office. Nice shirt!.

This dress shirt is sharp looking! I have gotten many compliments after only a couple of times wearing this shirt. The cut is slim fit, so it really flatters when you wear it. The fabric is a bit stretchy so it moves with you and stays comfortably fit around you when you sit down.

This has always been an issue for me around my stomach with dress shirts. The flexibility really helps your stomach area to stay comfortable no matter whether you are sitting or standing. I also appreciate that while it’s a great dress shirt, it really looks good with a nice pair of jeans as well.

Dress it up or down, either way it flatters. It’s just an overall great quality, great fitting shirt.

This shirt has been great so far. First off, it is made really well with quality materials. The stitching is done very well too which is good because I know it will hold up for me. Even after washing, it holds up and doesn’t shrink or pill.

It still looks new after being washed. It seems to hold the blue color. I like the buttons on this shirt too. You can wear the sleeves long, or button them to make them a bit shorter. The fit of the shirt is perfect for me too.

It is a bit stretchy, so it fits to my chest. The arms fit perfectly too and aren’t too tight. The length of the shirt is great too. It sits a little past my waist, so it’s easy to tuck in. The shirt is also wrinkle free, which is great because I don’t like wrinkly shirts when I have meetings.

I got these for my husband to wear for physical therapy. He is very happy with them. They are comfortable and allow him to move freely during his therapy sessions. I would buy them again and recommend them for anyone wanting comfortable exercise clothing.

Was a good price for a well constructed dress shirt. Color was dead on. Only complaint I would have was size seems to run a bit small.

My husband had Nordstrom shirts 30+ years years ago when he was working as an engineer and a CEO of a company. He still owns and loves those same shirts! They have worn some, lost a button here and there, but are still in remarkably good shape.

He is now retired but still wears them as everyday, work around the house and yard shirts. He finds them that comfortable! This year, for his birthday, I decided he deserved some new white shirts. I got him 2 from Nordstrom and 2 from another company – to compare.

The Nordstrom shirts, all these years later, are still the best! They are the same good quality, fairly priced and have the same soft feel he loves. The others I ordered were the same size but the sleeves were way too short and the fabric, even though they were more expensive and seemingly should have been soft based on the type of cotton, did not have as nice a feel.

I returned those and am getting him 2 more of these Nordstrom shirts! They are truly perfect!.

Quality dress shirt for daily business attire. Nice classic fit and well-constructed; buttons, collar, and stitching. I developed a pre-wash hack for the collars of my dress shirts before I have them dry cleaned.

This shirt washes well through that process. Pleasantly pleased with the value at this price point! Competitive alternative to Brooks Brothers. Recommended!.

For several years I have bought the traditional non-wrinkle travelers shirts. They have been outstanding. My husband is still able to wear your past shirts but these new ones have been cut in size around the waist significantly.

They do not come even close to fitting. It is so disappointing to have you skimp on fabric in this way. If it was a slim fit it would be understandable. I hope you will go back to the excellent quality and sizing you have had for so many years.

Quality definitely needs to get better. It is not at all at par with what quality that used to be there in the last few years.

My Orvis button down shirts have outlasted any other shirts in my closet. Because they are quality cotton, durable buttons, quality sewing, maintain their color, size and wrinkle free fabric. A+. Richard.

My husband was looking for some casual short sleeved shirts. I saw these and decided to surprise him. He loves them, they are comfortable and wash so well. I love the quality of Orvis products. I highly recommend.

This new wrinkle free fabric is paper-thin and feels scratchy to the skin. My old Orvis shirts felt luxurious and were well worth the money. If it were not for the label on this, I would assume that this shirt is from the remainder bin at Target.

This is a shirt with a couple “performance” features, not a performance shirt. There is some level of stretch to the fabric, but it’s nowhere near things like Mizzen+Main or Lululemon. It dries more quickly than cotton, but nowhere near as quickly as the true performance shirts mentioned previously.

I would also question whether this is really a non-iron shirt – it still looked kind of crinkly after I ran it through the dryer. The fit is excellent (I’m 6’3, 165 and bought a medium, trim fit). The quality of the stitching around the buttons was a bit of a let down – lots of loose ends that get caught around the buttons when you undo them.

If you’re looking for a well-fitting shirt with the look and feel of a traditional cotton dress shirt with decent stretch that dries a *little* bit faster than a 100% cotton product, this is decent. If, like me, you saw their marketing touting a high degree of stretch, super quick drying, “performance” fabric, guys doing push-ups in the shirts etc, you’re likely to be disappointed.

The shirt itself also doesn’t feel super high quality – I have a shirt from Abercrombie that feels substantially better made.

It’s a nice shirt but unfortunately it has a loose thread sticking out from the front top of the chest area. These shirts tend to cost more than I would typically spend so I expect a higher level of quality, so I am a bit disappointed with this purchase.

The other shirt was fine but this shirt has a loose thread that I was not expecting. I tried cutting the thread down a bit but don’t want to further damage the shirt. This is not something that I was expecting to have to deal with when purchasing this shirt.

I already reached out to Twillory’s customer service but have not heard back yet. I may return the shirt for a new one but this is TBD at this point in time. I’m a bit surprised that an inspector or some quality control apparatus in place didn’t catch this defect before mailing the shirt out.

Unfortunately, I have to give this one star. I have purchased several safe cotton shirts, which have worked fine, but this one came apart at the shoulder seam after using it three times. I am meticulous in following the care instructions, so very disappointed.

I probably won’t attempt a return and will move on to something else. At $100. 00, I have higher expectations. I’m starting to feel that there are some disadvantages to online clothing retailers. Even though they have made the return process as easy as possible, it seems like a waste of time.

I will go back to the tried and true brick-and-mortar option for dress shirts and dress pants and use the online option for particular, hard-to-find options.

While they fit fine and the cut is good, the fabric does not have the same high-quality texture and feel that I am accustomed to. The fabric feels a bit coarse and the black doesn’t look polished. Instead, it feels like a cheap black shirt that a waiter would wear to work.

Very disappointing.

This blouse is beautiful. Well made, fits wonderfully and the optic white goes with everything! I purchased four white ones so o would always have one ready to wear. After drying it comes out of the dryer pretty much wrinkle free.

If some wrinkles remain, just hang it up.

We use the shirt as a uniform. We each have the baby blue and white shirt button-up. We are looking sharp and presentable no matter what meeting we attend. We are an Architecture Firm and presentation is the key to every meeting.

Ok let’s talk fashion. This past weekend I tried out the Lauren’s Untucked Casual Regular Fit Stretch Dress Shirt. The shirt looks good, colors are bright and the material is soft which I love. This shirt also was comfortable while standing around.

But, I found that the stretch material just does not stretch as much as expected. For me this shirt is form fitting. A nice touch but if it had just a little more give for when your moving around it would be perfect.

All and all I am very happy with this shirt and will wear it again but, not while hanging with my friends. I would wear it with a blazer or jacket.
