20 Best Expansion Packs For Sims 3 (2023 Updated)

I have to be honest when ordering the Sims 2 online; I was nervous as it is such an old game, and I didn’t want to buy an already claimed code accidentally. However, I was delighted after ordering the Sims 2.

I got the game within 6 hours of ordering it with clear instructions on how to download it. I had no trouble downloading it to my PC, and I’ve been playing it non-stop. To have the Sims 2 base game along with every expansion and stuff packs at such a low price was an unbelievable good deal and I can say that I am throughly pleased.

This is one of the best purchases I made in a while.

These expansion packs for the Sims 3 are amazing! This is definitely worth the amazing price! This not only comes with the discs, but comes with a code to put in your origin account if you don’t have a disc reader.

They’re such a great addition to the game. I personally love playing with families and now there is more that I can go with families; including weddings, prom, going on vacation, and so much more! This package was supposed to take 11 days to ship, but only took 2! I highly recommend this :).

I ordered this because it came with 2 games! I love playing the sims and have been playing it for many years! somewhere in moving, I had lost all of my games. so once I got a new laptop, I decided to start purchasing them again.

I downloaded world adventures with no problem however, when I tried to download the sims generations, I couldnt get the disc to read! no matter what I did, it just kept giving me an error telling me file was empty.

I am very disappointed because I really wanted to add this to my collection.

I love every Sims game and this one is no exception. This expansion added a lot of new features to the game. Now sims can go off to University to experience college life and get a degree, which offers a whole new aspect of the game to work on, presents new challenges, changed the way skills work and added new skill sets, and added new careers.

Overall I think this is one the most valuable expansion packs to the Sims 3 just because of how much it adds to the game even in areas completely unrelated to the college theme of this expansion. It also adds something for the young adult age category which previously didn’t have much to them.

I definitely recommend adding this expansion to your Sims 3 collection especially since they’re so cheap now!.

Send your teens/grownups to college. Live on campus eat at the local shops/fast food places. Throw parties at your place or dorm. Have roomates or be on your own. Study to get your degree or flunk out.

Attend graduation and have your diploma to hang in your house.

The university world is SO buggy. There is a major path-finding issues getting to classes. Only one can go in the door at a time, creating an enormous “traffic jam”. I’ve missed entire classes due to this bug, others have had this problem as well.

Getting around campus in general is just weird, your Sim will walk on the sidewalk in complete circles to get to a class at times. Overtime, your performance will dip. If you don’t study/learn skills during multiple intervals during the day, you will have a hard time.

Classes drain fun like mad, you can loose half of the fun bar in one two-hour class! That’s when your Sim works hard but you will need to work hard due to make up for the steady dip of the performance bar.

The parties were a big feature when advertised. You will have to keep your fun up, study often everyday, sleep 10 hours, go to 2-6 hours worth of classes. You got that? When is there ANY time to party? After graduation I worked with these parties and I had quite a bit of fun with them.

I liked the parties this expansion pack had, a nice addition. I really liked all of the new clothes, hair and item to buy. Those bunk beds are AWESOME, the new plants are really cool as well. I liked the social groups addition, the new jobs are certainly a plus.

The photography skill was an alright addition, it’s fun but isn’t very profitable until you get a really high level. Social networking was a great addition. Blogging isn’t very profitable compared to most professions but it only takes a few minutes to get started and start posting.

It’s a work-at-home skill, I enjoyed it. Overall, it’s not bad but if you could buy a different expansion pack; save your money. If you were to ask me if I could get my money back, I’d say no. I got a fair amount of enjoyment out of it but I’d recommend other packs over this one.

I love this expansion pack! When it first came out I played with it excessively, I love the video camera it comes with for your sims to record home videos. I also love the dreaded imaginary friends. It adds so much more gameplay to those who enjoy playing family based saves.

I also love getting my teen sims ready for prom that comes with it. Must have!.

i have over 9000 hours combined playtime throughout all of my sims games. that says something. I’m not sure what it says. But it definitely says something. Something that may be good. or bad. but its out there.

It was okay. Just like any Sims game. Played through the years. Very similar. To other ones. I personally like the story line but it needs more tasks and advancement within it. I feel like it is geared to all ages but all of the different expansions can get kinda spendy.

One of my all-time favorite expansions! I LOVED seasons in Sims 2 and this one is just as awesome. Unrelated, but I would have loved an Open for Business for 3 also, but it is what it is. Anyway, with seasons there are, you guessed it, seasons! You usually start with summer but you can have it set to always summer, spring, fall, or winter.

Or you can set it to a cycle where the seasons change. By default each season is 7 sim days which I thought was too short so I always set it to 14 days each. There are now also holidays for each season and a corresponding party option for each.

Every world gets a park that hosts seasonal festivals as well. If your system makes the game lag I recommend turning off snow, otherwise the game is beautiful. Definitely a must-have for this series.

Sims is such an addicting game. It is a wholesome SIMulation game where you get to create characters, build houses for them, and go through different stories with them. And using your own imagination makes the game even better to play! I highly recommend it!.

What a great addon for the Sims! Depending on what the season is, it can suddenly start to rain, hail or snow and even sometimes you get fog, and you have full control over how many days each season lasts.

The weather is very realistic and I found that if my sims stay inside during very bad weather for too long, there is a negative effect on their moods just as in real life. My sims have had frostbite in the winter and got sunburnt in the summer.

Theres lots of new stuff to buy, plus sports like snowboarding, roller skating, and ice skating and football. Life outside of my household is improved too with this add-on. There is the Spring festival in the park, lots going on, on the beach during the summer, trick or treating in the Autumn, and during winter Sims can build snowmen, make snow angels, and go snowboarding.

Its so much better to have the changing weather rather than endless sunny days, and there are a number of other additions that improve game play, overall I would say this is a great expansion. Well worth the money.

All the sims 3 versions are so amazing. Love, love and love. The best simulation game of my life. I have been playing since I was 9 years old. And all you need more is mouse, because on laptop touchpad it’s impossible to play.

The Sims 3 has the most unique gameplay of all the sims games. I’ve played this game since its initial release in 2007 and have played it through 2022 and will continue to play it. CAS is incredibly similar to how it appeared in TS2 but the sims take on a 2007 attempt at realism.

The eyes are incredibly detailed and are what caught my attention most. The base game hair and outfits are alright but lack the variety and depth of some of the other games. Expansion packs are a requirement to get the full CAS library at its best and that goes for gameplay and bb mode too.

Build/buy is a bit clunky compared to the Sims 4 however it is still capable of producing some amazing looks. Pets, Seasons, and Supernatural have the best BB items and add so much diversity to what you can build.

Gameplay is heavily reliant on mods and expansion packs. The game was poorly optimized and therefore when playing the game vanilla without mods, you will encounter inevitable lag. Isla Paradiso from the Island Paradise pack is notoriously the worst but I have experienced a great deal of lag from Late Night, Showtime, and Pets.

The expansion packs for the game (in mu opinion) are as follows from best to worst: •seasons- adds a ton of CAS and BB items, adds weather, holidays, and should be base game but will never be base game.

•generations- while the CAS and BB are lacking in style IMO, the gameplay makes families so much more worthwhile and fun. The imaginary friends start out as creepy but become endearing •supernatural- even if you dont care for playing supernatural sims, the BB and CAS are incredible.

It adds the new world Moonlight Falls which has a beautiful Victorian style and setting and the supernaturals themselves are fun and fleshed out. •Pets- pets adds the lovely world of Appaloosa plains, cats, dogs, horses, and a plethora of small animals and rustic, farm style houses and build buy.

The CAS is also fantastic and has some of my favorite clothing options •World Adventures- WA adds so much gameplay and it never feels boring or too simplistic, no matter how many times you play it. WA offers 3 destination worlds of Egypt, France, and Chins to explore and learn special skills from.

There are tombs to discover, new recipes, and the CAS is fantastic and the BB allows for styles of homes that fit the cultures added to the game. •Ambitions- I loved the world of Twinbrooke and the Louisiana Swamp inspiration.

The skills, BB, CAS, and most everything about the gameplay is fantastic, but I seldom utilized it in my gameplay. The new careers are really fun and do add a ton of gameplay in instead of just rabbit holes for work, but there weren’t as many careers to choose from so I rarely chose them.

Overall it is an amazing pack however •University Life- UL is amazing for Young Adult sims to get degrees and jump start their careers. The BB is pretty good but the CAS is something I use in every game because of how diverse it is.

The pack can get a bit boring, but I still think it offers unique gameplay and a ton of new skills and things for your sims to do •Late Night- late night and Bridgeport city do not come to mind when I think Sims3 BUT the celebrity system and the BB does come to mind.

Celebrities in the sims 3 walked so TS4 could run. Clubbing wasn’t anything too noteworthy but the new skills offered were so much fun, especially having more instruments than just a guitar. •Island Paradise- poorly optimized world but the CAS and BB were pretty good.

Hotels were a ton of fun to open but got frustrating with how sims were not the best at listening. The world is incredibly beautiful and Scuba Diving is such a strange but fun skill that I didn’t often use but loved when I did.

The mermaids were an okay occult but beyond looking cool, their gameplay was lackluster. •Into the Future- got annoying quickly and while it had some great BB the CAS was often too eclectic to use in regular gameplay, as well as often times being ugly.

The future is cool and has some unique skills, but they often were ignored in my gameplay or didn’t provide enough for continuous use of them. Overall, TS3 has a lot of gameplay but its heavily reliant on packs and special mods to optimize the game to prevent lag or problems.

If you want to get into the sims, its a great game to consider.

This has to be my all time favorite computer game!! Create your own characterd, build their skills, personality, careers, build their house or appartment, make them meet a partner, create a family. it is never ending fun!! You can create many characters all with different lives.

Also, if you buy expansions(I sure did!!) you can make them live a college experience, have their own business, have a nightlife and even make them a whimsical magical character(witch, werewolf, vampire.

). Fun is endless with this game and yes. it is craaaaazy addictive! You can start playing at 12pm and suddenly look at time and realize you’ve been playing for 8 hrs lol I recommend this to anyone who is looking for a game with many different scenarios even when you start 1000 new games! Have fun :D.

Love the sims franchise. Best feature about this version is the open world feature. I personally like it better than the Sims 4. You can customize everything and the things you can’t, you can just download a mod to do it.

It does have poor optimization so even with the best machines, it will eventually run poorly. You also just have to accept the game as it is (unless there’s a mod specific to addressing your issue) because there’s no more support for this game at all.

Also, it’s run by EA so even in its prime, bug/customer support was minimal. A lot of love went into this game though, and I recommend it (plus expansions) to anyone!.

This game is fun expansion if you want your Sim to be in music and/or be a performer! This game is great! No improvement needed! A bit pricey but worth it if you love the game like me! I would definitely recommend this!.

I have almost all of the expansion packs. But Showtime is the best one out of all of them. I have Late Night, Pets, Generations, and Showtime (4 out of 6). In this expansion pack, it comes with a new town called “Starlight Shores”.

It is like Hollywood, CA because it has the big sign in the hills. You can be a magician, a singer, or an acrobat. These careers are so much more involved than the regular careers. It comes with plenty of cute clothing for both men and women.

And some pretty cute hairstyles. There even is this little bunny costume you can create your sim with. Starlight Shores also comes with some nice(and BIG) houses. I have no problem with it so far, and I definitely recommend it.

I’m so mad at myself for spending the extra, what $10? on this. The Katy Perry content was 1 hairstyle, 2 ridiculous outfits, and some giant fruit. The game itself is okay. I like the main strip in the town, Starlight Shores, but besides that it’s a boring town.

The new professions were fun at first but got old. I did like many of the new traits, CAS items, and buy/build items, which is why I keep it installed.

Literally no other game will ever compare to any of the sims. Especially when you play it on the PC. But beware! You wont ever want to do anything else once you start playing!!

When I Put It On My Computer It Was Absolutley AMAZING Theres A Whole New Town Called Twinbrook And That Means More Houses And Mansions! Plus Theres An Italian Food Resturant Your Sim Can Go Into! Not To Mention TONS Of Careers, So Far My Sim Is A Rockstar But She Has A Part Time Job As A Tatoo Artist And, Sometimes Things Go Wrong With Tatoo- Ing People So Make Sure Your Sim Has Had Looooottts of Practice, Another Thing I Loveee About The Sims Ambitions Is The New Traits They Can Have Like (Dramatic, Sculpter Savvy, Investigator) And Sculpting Is Alot Of Fun Too! Engine Looking Stuff. Then Click Enable Aging. That Way Your Sims Never Get Old. ! Hope You Like My Advice.

Sims 3 is the bomb. com I truly love this game in fact I think I might even be a little addicted. You can create your dream house, create a family and control any sim you want. Your sims destiny is in your hands.

Not to mention the sims community has created challenges for you if you ever get bored this game is worth it’s money.

There’s not a whole lot to this expansion pack in terms of actual items. Better items can be found for free on modding sites. There either is a lot of patches within this expansion pack or coding in it to pull patches and updates into the game from the EA site.

The majority of the download time is for patches and updates for the buggy Launcher and EADM. The expansion pack seems to create new bugs. After installing it on a brand new computer, when a Sim went on vacation the Travel screens appeared but the Sim never materialized.

This problem was not encountered prior to this expansion pack. Might be best to wait awhile for patches for the patches before purchasing.

I’m not a huge fan of stuff packs, but this one happened to come with a group of expansions on Origin. While some of the items are interesting, I find others just to be the same as the base pack items.

They’re not “better” or “nicer” it just adds a few options here or there. Had it not come as an expansion bundle I never would have purchased it.

This Sims 3 add-on pack *does* add lots of clothing items, high-end electronics, and many other cool items. In case you’re wondering, it does NOT add any new *functionality* to the game – just extra stuff for your Sims to use.

All in all, it’s totally worth the $22 or so I paid for it here on eBay. For someone just getting started on Sims 3, I suggest waiting until you ‘get into’ the game really well BEFORE buying it; a newbie to Sims 3 probably won’t notice any of the added stuff.

After all, in the time it takes you to learn the game a little better, the prices you’ll find on eBay for this add-on will come down even farther :-).

The SIMS!! I have to start off by saying that this is the absolute best game ever created! I could play this for hours and days and weeks and months and years ! Okay, you get the point! I love it! Sims 3 is my favorite! I haven’t been able to get into the graphics in the sims 4, which is why I’m sticking with sims 3.

plus i don’t want to start over with buying all of my expansion packs after already buying literally all of them except for one for the sims $.

I have to admit I was a little apprehensive to buy this at first just because it’s such an amazing deal, but I can say now that it’s 100% worth it. It’s one install file, so no going in and out having to install each expansion seperately.

It only took me an hour to download but if you have better internet it’ll be faster for you. How EA can justify charging people 30 for the game and each expansion 6 years after the last one came out if beyond me.

This is super easy, super quick and super value for money. 10/10 would buy again.

I’ve waited a long time to pick up the Sims 3 because it was very expensive, and I heard many complaints of glitches, and overall dissatisfaction with the experience vs. Sims 2. I wasn’t too keen on it in the first hours of play, and it definitely took some major getting acquainted with.

The Create-A-Sim is great, but I’m not fond of the alien-looking sims, even though you have an incredible amount of customization. However, you can really only follow and choose for one family, whereas before (with Sims 2) I could constantly change households without holdups.

My favorite part of the game is watching my sim investigator ride around on his motorcycle, solving mysteries. Another plus is the career/profession and life fulfillment choices. However, I’ve only played it for 6 hours and already I have a glitch.

Hopefully after restarting my game it will disappear. Overall, after you get used to it, the game improves dramatically, and I would recommend it to anyone with a newer capable computer.

The Sims3 is, like the predecessors before it, an amazing role-playing video game. And as any proclaimed “deluxe” edition or game descendent ought to be, the Sims3 offers many new and exciting features.

For instance, your sim can choose between a typical job or a career, quite literally everything is customizable, the neighborhood can be traversed in ‘real-time’, sims withhold life goals as well as short term goals and so forth.

Truly, Sims3 is the next step in the evolution of the Sims franchise. However, I purchased the game for my MacBook Pro, a laptop with which I have never had any problems; the game is glitchy though and has locked up a few times.

The gameplay and effects and whatnot are spectacular but the design and so forth is the issue.

World adventures brought pretty cool vacation places which seemed like China, Egypt, and France. I loved that your sims could visit these places and discover new food ad people who stayed there. It was very cute.

There was also customs that came as well like dance moves and stories. My mom, who is also a heavily dedicated player for years, really liked sending her sims into the tombs to discover ruins and such.

I was a bit afraid to do so after trying one time and my SIM went jnder water in a pool and hit a secret latch that opened a tomb and the mummy started to chase her. Scared the crap out of me. Granted the mummy was extremely slow lol but it was still creepy and my SIM never went back.

The Sims 3 is an epic game in its own right but each base game in the series has received numerous expansions packs. World adventures is a fun, unique and enticing addition to an already amazing game.

World adventures is rather groundbreaking gameplay in regards to the Sims series; Your sims are able to go on vacation (much like the Holiday and Bon Voyage expansions for the Sims and Sims 2 respectively), however a completely new dimension of gameplay has been incorporated into the game.

You navigate your sims through perilous, sometimes challenging dungeons and labyrinths in order to gain rewards, skills and unique bonuses. The tombs are located throughout all three new locations (China, Egypt and France) and they consist of puzzles and traps, as always your sims may very well die on these dangerous journeys so have your wits about you.

The narrative for this expansion pack comes in the form of ‘Challenges’ which you can browse through and accept, these challenges are varied and interesting, this helps keep the gameplay fresh and involving.

Some challenges are of a greater scale and span over several of the new locations, this helps make what you’re doing feel of a greater importance and is leading up to something that will reap great rewards.

Of course there is much to discover in these new lands; you are able to learn new skills such as Martial Arts, Meditation and Photography (all of which have a trait counterpart to help you in advancing in these skills), you are also able to get to know the locals and learn about the culture whilst marvelling at the architecture.

In terms of object additions to the game there are barely any, the new items are scarce and forgettable. Conversely the architectural tools are a welcome addition, you are now able to create basements and customise the structure of your roofs.

There are some new clothing items which come with the game; these are not very inspiring however they are nonetheless relevant to the expansion itself. To conclude this expansion is a great start to expanding on the already amazing and gratifying gameplay which is the Sims 3, this expansion boldly takes gameplay to a new level for the Sims, this is a first for Sims expansion packs and hopefully it won’t be the last.

Although I would have liked to have seen more new content in regards to objects, clothing, traits and hairstyles, what the game contains is more than worth the price and is a fabulous addition.

Classic and fun. I’ve spent so many hours playing this game. My all time favorite for sure. Very affordable and can usually find it in sale. Great for all ages.

this game!!! ugh i am an avid sims player and have been since my cousins taught me at 6. sims 3 was a DREAM! the expansion packs actually had tons of content and add ons and the actual base game was ahead of it’s time— hello, open world?! i downloaded my old games onto my mac but i know going from sims 4 graphics go sims 3 will be an adjustment 😂.

The game is awesome to play!! I’m really enjoying it alot!! It was hard at first becasue i’m new to playing video games—yes I know they been around for years, but i would just watch my son—-so it takes me a minute to get the hand eye coordination down pact.

The people in the game look so real and they are having a good time. i really recommend this game and i got it at a great price.

Very nice expansion pack. I honestly loved these packs the SIMS 3 had. You got soo many things for so little money. The late night pack is one of the packs I bought fresh when it came out. And it was one of the best ones to date, although there have been a lot.

I’ve been playing The Sims for about 10 years now and the seasons pack for Sims 3 has been one of my favorites. I was worried the pack wouldn’t deliver but it has! My favorite feature is being able to create your holiday which is nice since the holidays that I celebrate aren’t already included in the pack.

I would definitely recommend this pack to anyone looking to expand their Sims 4 gameplay.

With this expansion you get a calendar with premade holidays and you can make your own holidays. The thermostat is a useful tool. Be careful hotside u can kill your sims in freezing temps and also in the heat.

New activities are great. One of ther better expasnisons packs for sims4.

I love this game. My only gripe is not being able to go into buildings like Sims 2. I wish they would release Sims 4 and go back to the way Sims 2 was. It am not sure it’s worth the money with so many expansions.

I am not sure I would recommend this game to others. Maybe wait a bit and see if Sims 4 makes an appearance.

I’ve been away on a job and when I got back the product was waiting for me. When I went to install it did not work and said that code had already been used. I ordered several around the same time and every other one worked except this one.

This is silly. Why did EA have to make a Fast Lane Stuff Expansion kit?? It is costly and a lot of these items can be downloaded online from the official website/fansites. Check it out there before buying this product.

The reason I gave this two stars instead of one star is that race cars are actually pretty cool in the game.
