20 Best Exfoliating Brush For Ingrown Hair (2023 Updated)

I usually don’t write reviews but after using Jupiter products my dandruff has gone away completely. I used to be so insecure about my dandruff flakes, and when my boyfriend would run his fingers through my hair he’d always find little scabs.

Done with all that!! Literally went away within days or maybe even after my first wash or 2 after using products. Definitely will be a returning customer and recommend to anyone that is suffering with bad irritating dandruff.

Jupiter is a must! Stop buying drug store shampoos to solve your dandruff problem!!.

I bought a scalp brush on Amazon a couple years ago and it was ok. It only had about a dozen or so “spikes” and it used to fall apart when I used it. When I bought the entire hair care system from Jupiter, I threw this in my cart as well.

This scalp brush has made a huge difference! There are so many little exfoliators, and they are stiffer than the silicone ones on my old brush, but not harsh enough to hurt your scalp. It does a great job breaking up product buildup.

I use this every time I wash!.

As with most things, I’m skeptical and don’t accept them as holy grails until I try them myself. I have had pretty intense dandruff for YEARS. This scalp brush helps immensely!! I have less flaking for longer and my scalp is much less itchy – I can go longer between washes than I have in… really as long as I can remember.

I highly recommend this to everyone – not just those dealing with dandruff but especially to those with dandruff.

Dry brushing is soo so important for circulation and draining toxins and fluids from the body not to mention the amazing exfoliating benefits. I love this massaging wet or dry brush. It’s circular shape allows you to massage in natural directions and is just the perfect blend of dry and soft.

I really like this dry brush. I have some circulation issues and this brush help a lot to get a better circulation increase in my legs 🦵 I think that’s a really good choice for keeping my skin smooth and soft.

I literally use this dry brush every single day. Its my best friend. I have a cellulite on my thighs and I dry brush then exfoliate when I’m in the shower and I’ ve seen a huge difference in my skin.

The dry brushes that I am reviewing are from the same company that makes the one in the picture. There was not an option for ones I purchased, so this is the closest one to them to review under. I recently found these Dry Brushes for three dollars and am so glad I purchased them! I have had no issues with the bristles falling out.

I have been using each dry brush for about a week, one for before the shower and one for during. The back of each brush has a strap that makes them super easy to grip, I have not dropped either Metene Dry Brush The bristles are a little tough, even on the softer one.

So if you have very sensitive skin I wouldn’t recommend these for you. I look forward to seeing my results from dry brushing a month or two from now.

The bath brush is great. Love the two sides–one softer and one less soft with natural bristles. Long handle with non-slip circles is helpful. So glad I purchased–price is great and product well make.

Discovered that the bristles clean my skin better than anything that I’ve found. My skin is now smoother and softer since using this brush. Nice to have the option to change between soft and stiff bristles.

I bruise easily and my skin is sensitive. My husband is a bad diabetic so his skin breaks down easily. This brush is perfect for us. The handle is easy to hold on to and the bristles are very soft but cleans very well.

I would highly recommend it. If I had one drawback, I wish it was a little longer. Great buy.

I’ve been dry brushing my skin for about 2 years now and the effects are amazing. Previously, I was using a brush by a local company that included these rubber nodules that were supposed to help break up cellulite.

It’s been years now and I have noticed much change in cellulite; however, in switching to the Elemis brush, I can now reach ALL parts of my body and WOW, what a difference it makes in how great my skin feels.

I love the fact that the brush is in two pieces too. So ingenious! My new favorite! Thank you Elemis. ❤️.

This is a very rough brush but that’s exactly what I was looking for. I struggle with small break outs on my back and I have oily skin, this really helps exfoliate my back and has helped to clear my problem areas quickly.

My only concern is the removable head. Over time I think the wood will loosen and the brush head will continue to slip off while using it. I’m going to glue it on and use a different brush for the body.

I have pockets of fat the very top of my outter thighs and this has drastically reduced since dry brushing! My skin is sooo much softer I haven’t noticed a huge change in my cellulite yet as I’ve only used this a couple of times but it’s now part of my nightly routine and it won’t be stopping! Only reason I’ve gave this 4 stars is some of the bristles fall out each time I use it and the long stick doesn’t stay in!.

I was in a hurry and picked this up at the store thinking it wasn’t all plastic. I got home and went to use it and was so bummed all the bristles are plastic. They also fall out. This is a good example of “green-washing.

” The brand and packaging give off a sustainable and green vibe. They call the bristles “synthetic. ” at least they’re supposed to be made of recycled plastic. As far as exfoliating, it gets the job done! I like the bamboo part and it has a little strap for your hand to hold it.

I have VERY dry skin, to the point where no matter how much lotion I would use I’d still have dry flakes in my leggings when I would remove my pants. This thing is a game changer. I used it to dry brush my arms and legs and my skin has never felt softer.

I also have “chicken skin” and this has helped a ton to diminish it. Would definitely recommend if you also suffer from dry skin!.

I’m shocked how dry brushing changed me. If you brush your whole body in the morning, your blood circulation really flows so well and I feel so much more awake! It really changed my morning routine. I recently read about the benefits of body brushing (stimulating circulation, cleansing lymphatic system etc) so I was looking for a brush that I could use but that wasn’t too rough on my skin. This has been an absolute dream.

I brush for about 5 minutes before jumping in the shower, my skin feels super soft and general glow has also massively improved! 100% would recommend!.

Previously used Eco Tools dry brush and had the worst experience with dry brushing. I never wanted to do it because it scratched me up like crazy, I now LOOK FORWARD to dry brushing because of how soft and effective this brush is.

I bought this to get my beauty loop box because I needed one anyway and it is much softer than anything you’d find in a pharmacy. I was initially worried about this but it works really well and is much gentler on the skin.

It fits in the hand perfectly too!.

To sum this up, I like the long handle and action of the heads. It’s very easy to reach and clean all over. With just a little bit of soap there’s great sudsing action with the attachments. The head rotation is adjustable with high and low speeds.

If you push too hard you could stop the spinning. I like the speeds, they’re perfect. The attachments are gentle while using them, no irritation from the brush. Very nice to use the long handle with the pumice attachment, didn’t have to bend over as far in the shower making it really easy to use on my feet.

The brush attachment is so soft, you don’t need to press hard to get great cleaning action The scrunchie attachment sudsed well. Felt like a nice shower scrunchie. The heads are very easy to change, even with wet hands in the shower.

I enjoy using it. I don’t think it’s an every day thing, but I’ll probably use this about once a week. So you’re taking a battery operated device into the shower. The tip of the handle is where you charge it.

The charge area seems really well sealed when it’s closed. I’m not worried about water getting inside. It uses a standard USB micro sized charger, doesn’t ship with a power brick, but that’s ok, I have plenty of old bricks.

I can see people with limited flexibility really benefiting from this device, possibly caregivers as well. Clean areas of your back you just can’t reach. Buy it with confidence, it works as described.

I got this Nera spa sciences body shower brush for a birthday gift. I had it in my Amazon wish list and my mom sent it to me. This is a wand style rechargeable body shower brush. The packaging includes one wand, one power cord, (you need the power box to plug the usb into) let it charge up for four hours and then you get to enjoy it.

Next charge doesn’t take as long. It is dermatologist recommended, and I can see why! The amount of relaxation I gave myself just with the loofah and then the foot stone adapters really left me feeling so relaxed.

It’s also waterproof for use in the shower if you couldn’t tell from above. It has three different heads, one is massaging and relaxation with the loofah, the second one is a deep cleansing head that allows you to remove dirt and dead skin cells.

And the final one is the pumice stone to easily treat your feet to a smoother feel.

I’m getting my devices ready for a SPA day tomorrow. First, I remove any facial hair with my AVIA. This is a great way to achieve a flawless finish for makeup. Then I’ll use my ECHO brush to apply my makeup for church.

Then when I come home, my take care of me day will began. First step in SPA day is removing my makeup and cleaning my face with my NOVA. Then I smooth the rough edges on my feet with my VIVA, followed by a nice, hot, bath with my NERA (first time use – update will follow).

Then it’s my face time!!! I use a face mask before my serums. In my device charging pic (if I can attach it) my new NURI is there charging for my first use (review will follow). I will use the NURI for my face mask.

I’ve been using my AERO for serum infusion, but I will see how the NURI compares. I also will be trying the ISLA for the first time tomorrow as well. I’m looking forward to using that as well. Updates will follow – I’ve almost purchased all of the products offered ;-).

I’ve searched a long time for a good body brush and I’ve finally found it. I love the design of this – great handle which allows for easy use, and I like the thickness of the bristles. I like quite a firm body brush which this definitely is.

I use a few times a week in circulator motions over areas where I have dry skin. I then follow up with a body lotion. This has kept my skin really smooth over the cooler months. Definitely recommend!.

This is a great body brush. I’ve tried a few but often find them quite soft, this has a nice medium thickness to it. I love the strap handle because this makes it easier to put my hand through and offers more control when using.

I like to use this in the areas I get flaky skin (elbows, knees etc) It offers a great dry brush and really helps keep my skin in better condition. Would definitely recommend this brush, really high quality and will last a long time.

I bought this brush based off so many reviews saying it was soft. This brush is so harsh on my skin that it left it feeling like it was burning. There is absolutely no way I’d even be able to work through the pain! I’d hate to see what other brushes are like if this is supposed to be soft? Instead I’ve used it to brush off dried up mud on my walking boots – works great for that!.

This brush is great! I’ve needed one for a while and was apprehensive to spend extra on a well reviewed brush but I am so glad I did. It feels quite rough but surprisingly it doesn’t leave me super red afterwards and I have very sensitive Irish skin.

I’ve got KP and this body brush has helped to clear away the build up that AHAs/BHAs and scrubs can’t seem to get rid of. It really uncloged my pores, sorted out my ingrown hairs and just revealed the most smoothest skin.

It feels like my other bodycare products can now actually be absorbed INTO my skin (rather than sit on top). Be warned, the bristles on this are HARD so it may not be suitable for daily use.

I liked how the Remington Reveal Rotating Body Cleansing Brush had two speeds. I found the more gentler speed was perfect for everyday washing and the higher speed was great for rougher areas (elbows, knees, heels, etc).

The higher speed was too much for my sensitive skin, so I am glad there were two speeds. I used my favorite liquid body wash with it and my skin felt so soft after the shower! The reason for the 4 stars was that when using the brush, after putting the body wash on it and turning it on and using it soap tended to fly around a little.

Not sure if I was using it wrong or what, but if you don’t have curtains or doors around your shower/tub it could get water/soap on your floors. Also, if you never used one of these brushes before it takes a little getting used to.

After I got used to it, I don’t know how I can return to washing without it!.

Ive always had pretty needy skin. My skin is really dry and i tend to have to scrub a lot in order to get the dry skin off. Its pretty awful. This brush SAVED me. I do not have to scrub like crazy with a loofa, nor do I have to continue scrubbing when I get out of the shower as I dry off with a towel.

The body clensing brush does a phenomenal job of ridding your body of dirt and grime too. I used it after mudding with my husband and was clean as a whistle in no time. The brush was easy to use and holds a charge for a long time.

Ive used it at least a couple dozen times now and the brush itself still looks brand new. It is not so abrasive that it hurts to use, but it scrubs well enough that you dont have to worry about skin flaking all over.

I give it an easy 5 stars, more if I could.

As someone with chronic pain the NERA has been a game changer for me. I often have a hard time reaching my back, etc, and with the long handle I am now able to cleanse and exfoliate my skin like never before.

I love that it has 3 interchangeable heads, even one for my feet! The USB charging capability is so much easier than having to purchase and change batteries. The included shower hook also makes it easy to store and dry in your shower.

The Nera shower brush. ! Concept is great but. it stopped working after using it only 4-5 times. They promptly replaced it (after I paid to send it back), but the second one they sent only worked for about 4x of use.

When it had to be re-charged, the product no longer functioned. Sadly this product is not worth it. I just threw away the $30 on something that does not function even after a replacement.

Love this product. It takes your shower experience to another level. The brush is soft enough to massage your body while showering, the sponge is also very soft but what I love the most is the exfoliation device, I use on rough skin and it really helps to smooth the whole area.

I personally really enjoy using this product. I picked it up on a whim when searching for a body exfoliator at Ulta. It was very affordable, and judging by some reviews exactly what I was looking for.

I use this before every shower, starting with the tops of my feet, making upwards brushing strokes, all the way up my whole entire body. It takes about 30-45 minutes to complete depending on how quickly I do it and how much time I have.

I do find it quite hard to get my whole back, so if you have a partner I’d pick up one for them as well trying to get them into it to do each others backs lol I think it feels really good, like the best scratch ever but I did see other reviews from people saying it was painful and felt like it was cutting them or ripping their skin off.

I don’t know if maybe they have super sensitive skin and that’s why it was painful for them, but that has not been my experience at all. It is more scratchy than the kind of body brush you’d use in the shower, and the bristles are much longer as well.

When using I don’t push down with any amount of pressure, just light sweeping motions. I have really dry skin due to hard water, so I do tend to be itchy and go through a lot of lotion and body oil as well.

Even though I use this prior to my shower I still use a body brush in the shower on my whole body, especially before shaving, then using an exfoliating loofah (which IMO doesn’t feel exfoliating) it really helps get rid of all the dry skin and dead skin cells, but bcuz of the hard water I can’t go without moisturizing as soon as I’m out of the shower.

This particular dry brush has a handcrafted bamboo handle, is 100% vegan with synthetic bristles, and therefore creutly free. The bristles are soft enough to not harm the skin but tough enough to exfoliate the skin well.

It also has a comfortable handle that stretches for gripping needs. Here are some tips for how I personally like to use my dry brush. Start at the bottom of the feet on the soles, using long upward strokes and a medium pressure.

Then continue on to the tops of feet and the legs with same long, upward strokes. Always brush upward towards the heart. Never downwards. Continue onto the thigh and buttock and bikini area, and then mid section, sides, and back.

Brush one side of palms and extend up the arm all the way, then do the same to the other side of hand and arm. Dont forget back of shoulders and neck. The delicate neck and chest area can also be dry brushed, but with much lighter pressure, as this is a much more sensitive area with thinner skin.

This entire process, in my opinion, is best done nude, preferably before showering. Afterwards, I shower, exfoliate in shower, wash, and follow up with a good moisturizer! Alternatively, the dry brush can be used wet with an oil of your choice.

After use, hang up to air dry. Also, remember to periodically clean your dry brush to keep sanitary.

I got this brush from Nordstrom a few months back, and have been using it consistently since then. Like the instruction suggests, it’s best to use it before washing your hair, that way the dry flakes, and any buildup gets washed away pretty easily.

I used to have a terribly dry scalp that used to itch a lot when it was dry after washing. But since using this brush the dry flakes decreased significantly, and my scalp feels much better. I even stopped having those dry itches as well.

I would definitely recommend this brush to anyone with a fine hair like me. I think it might be a bit flimsy for people with thick hair.

I have been a loyal Aveda customer for several decades. I usually am very happy with Aveda products/service or I obviously wouldn’t keep returning. That said, this brush is a joke. I fell for the product description and the promise of providing scalp stimulation for hair growth/health.

You can’t feel anything! It’s the most bizarre design! A total waste of money. I regret this purchase 100%.

Let me start off by saying that I *love* Aveda products. But that sentiment does not apply to this brush. I bought this as a brush that would be invigorating to my scalp. But oddly, it doesn’t actually even penetrate through my hair to my scalp.

It feels like the bristles just collapse. You might think that I have coarse, thick or curly hair, but it’s actually quite fine and of a so-so thickness. Even my 10 year old son tried it and said, “Mom, there’s something wrong with this brush.

I think it’s broken. ” So yeah, I wanted to like it but it just doesn’t work for me. I’m now using it to brush my cat, who loves it :).

I recently purchased a similar brush front Eco Tools but hesitated to start using it because it’s rougher than expected. Then I saw this brush at a Credo store and it was much softer and denser with more bristles too, so I actually look forward to using it and even on my 9 year old who is averse to scratchy or rough textures.

I expected a long handle, and it’s very short, shorter than any of 5 other brushes I have. I cannot use this brush. Bristles are very soft too – I need to scratch my back with hard bristles. It’s fine for a small person who wants only a soft brush.

I love it, it has a soft side for my wife and a courser side for me. Whats not to like about it. When this one wares out (and I don’t see that happening any time soon) I will get another one. Great product.

This brush is well made to last a long time. The brissels are very soft and the other side is a mesh sponge matetial. I am very pleased with it. Thanx.

Soft and gentle on skin, holds body wash well. Long handle is useful for reaching back and so you don’t have to bend down so much in the shower to reach the bottom half of your body. Reusable is a plus and way better than the wooden one.

Bought this instead of a wooden version, as they always seem to start rotting after a while. Easy to use, and hygienic. Just wish the soft, rubber handle was a tiny bit longer.

I hate using loofahs because they get dirty quickly and stay damp but the silicone of this product works great for me and it’s so easy to use. I don’t really use the bumpy side but it’s nice it’s got two sides.

These are great for improving circulation. Not the softest.

Works well…gets those hard to reach places.
