20 Best Entry Mats For Hardwood Floors (2023 Updated)

A little small for my condo door and I got the large one. May get a different one and use this for the porch. Regardless, for the price, this is VERY WELL MADE and durable/thick. I took a chance on shipment for this cheap price, because a few others mentioned it came cracked, but THANKFULLY mine was perfect.

Just wish it was bigger. I would not hesitate to buy this. Just be sure of measurements.

Great Price. Sturdy and thick. Does the job. Mat comes rolled up and takes a while to flatten. Need to be careful of someone tripping until it becomes smooth to the floor.

Took forever to get here but it’s solid, tough and looks good outside my door in Alaska ! It’s rubber, not carpet and should hold up a very long time. Easy to sweep off. Much bigger than those little mats you buy in a store.

I got this mat for outside of my tent because my tent doesn’t come with the tarp extension outside for shoes and whatnot. I got this over the outdoor one because I saw a lot of reviews on other sites saying that the outdoor was really uncomfortable to walk on without shoes and this seemed like it would meet all of my needs.

I got this in gray because I was a little worried that black would get really hot in the sun and burn anyone barefoot. The gray is an attractive color and I think will look really nice outside my tent.

I got the largest size and it’s bigger than I expected and really great quality. With the 20% off code it’s an absolute steal compared to everywhere else that sells this product. It’s really thick and heavy and seems like the material is insanely durable and waterproof.

I’m really pumped to try it out and see how it holds up to camping and dirt or rain. Highly recommend buying this specifically from bed bath and beyond because of the price and easy returns if for some reason you choose to take it back.

I got this to use with our large Ariens snowthrower. I have an Ariens mat, but it isn’t as big as I would like it to be and if there is snow that you can’t completely remove from the snowthrower before putting it on the mat, the mat the water overflows the mat.

The WeatherTech mat is longer but not wider. It does have a grid of “blocks” that are taller than the base of the mat, and that helps some, but doesn’t solve the problem of keeping water off the floor as the mat is no wider than the Ariens mat.

Also, the outside ridges of the mat are not as high as needed to retain more water. The outside ridges on the Ariens are not that high either. Why doesn’t a manufacturer make a mat that is about six inches wider than these with taller ridges? The WeatherTech mat is good in that it is longer than the Ariens, but it’s still not quite “there” for use with a large snowthrower.

We are using both mats. We use the WeatherTech mat for when we first bring the snowthower in and keep it by the garage door until it dries. We then move the snowthrower to it’s storage place on the Ariens mat.

We keep the WeatherTech mat by the garage door to wipe boots. It works great for that. So well in fact, that my wife wants to purchase another one for wiping boots use by a different door. All-in-all it’s a very nice, well-constructed mat.

I own all kinds of weathertech products, love them all. This is why I didnt shop after seeing the brand. It is heavy duty, my ariens fits on it perfect, I just wish it held more melt, even a light snow sweep before parking, the melt overflows all over the floor.

So maybe I should have shopped around for something deeper, live and learn in this age where most of the things you want to buy are online only with a few pictures.

Bought 8 floor mats as gifts and am not sorry. They came quickly and the quality is very good. They were larger than I expected even though dimensions were in the description. I know the recipients will find them very useful.

I am happy with my aqua shield mat! The price was great even with shipping charges. I have paid more from other companies for these mats. My cats love these mats and I love that they trap messes at the door!.

I bought this this past Jan 2019. I noticed by May/June it is wearing and losing fuzz fabric where people walk. It looked great in the beginning but for what I paid and the lifetime warrenty. It did not up hold.

I would rather spend my money otherwise on a better product!.

I love the Aqua Shield mats–This is my second one. They are so durable and functional, but with cool designs that they are decorative as well. The color (navy blue) was exactly as pictured, so it matches the bench in my foyer perfectly.

For some reason I thought this mat would be a solid rubbery material. The coconut coir mats always end up soaked and keep moisture on our deck and porch, so I thought this would be better. It’s not rubbery and does get soaked, and stay wet, although not as badly as with the coconut fiber mats.

This also does hold on to dirt and I’ve already had to scrub it — doesn’t wash off super easily.

Love the new Mohawk Home door mat in Ornamental Brick design. It’s a good quality mat, made very sturdy. I have notice with our heavy rain lately the water does not pool on top but rather allows the water to roll off.

The door mat is very sturdy and doesn’t slide around. But the best thing I like about the door mat is the ornamental brick design with such vibrant colors, it really complements our porch colors.

I requested this to go by my back door in the kitchen. It really looks beautiful since our kitchen has bricks on the walls. It adds a nice feature to our floor and fits right in. I have received several compliments on how good it looks.

I use these at all of our doors, in both bathrooms, kitchen and outside the litter boxes for the cats. They hold up well and they absorb amazingly. I also keep one in front of my spouses chair in the family room.

One night they spilled grape juice and this mat totally contained the grape juice. The grape juice did not get on my area rug! When you wash them I wash them in cold water and I have a heavy duty washer but you can only put a few in at a time and then I hang them up to dry.

But they are awesome! They contain cat litter tracking as well; I just shake them outside every time I change the litter box and wash them accordingly.

This rug does what it’s supposed to do. We are using it inside of our front door, and it’s been great at getting rain and mud for the last three weeks. I don’t love the color, as it’s sort of a faded blueish/brownish/greyish.

I was hoping for a more specific and darker shade. Also the fibers/pile is not very dense when you pick up the rug. You can see a lot of the white backing and base through the fibers – but only when you’re picking it up to move it or shake it.

And, there’s still a crease down the middle from shipping, even after three weeks of use. So, it works very well, but it doesn’t look great,.

Even though this is created as an entry way mat. designed particularly as a quick dry walk off for a mud room, or entryway in a home that may be in a rainy climate- this is working great as a shower /bath mat.

I have tried a variety of bath mats and kitchen mats, always ending up with consistently moist mats that mold, deteriorate, and seep water to the under layer. Despite efforts to teach my family how to dry off completely inside the shower, they can’t wait to step out dripping wet onto the bath mat.

Very well made, durable and attractive print. My only issue is the thickness of it if placing INSIDE the home. Door will not open because it is too thick. Would do well outside the home or where there is a large gap under the door.

Loved this mat. It arrived in just a clear bag but it is gorgeous. I usually throw my mop water with a bit of Clorox to clean my patio from birdie poops and it hasn’t gotten damaged at all. Live how lightweight yet durable and easy to sweep it is.

The quality of this mat seems great. I just opened the package so I cannot yet speak to how it will hold up. But it is certainly the type of mat you want for inside your front door from my first impression—appears sturdy, waterproof, and non-slip.

I do, however, have one major qualm. If you are ordering this mat in the Camel color then prepare for disappointment. The photo they used to advertise this shade was either edited to appear brighter, or, this is a different mat entirely.

The mat is VERY dark and the shade is a sort of puke-gray-brown. Nothing like how it appears in the photo. Not going to bother with returning (I rarely do returns) but will probably find an equally dark corner to hide this in.

It’s pretty ugly. I was really excited to find a light brown mat that looked like the quality I wanted so I am definitely sad that this ended up being the product I received.

This is now my door mat on a small step directly outside my front door, complementing a larger semicircular mat, same brand, different color, on the porch itself. I like my home’s entrance to look elegant and understated.

It was hard to find this small size in a color that pleased me but I’m very happy with it. Classy and simple, beautiful color for winter. It’s a very deep green and complements the bordeaux color of the same brand.

After putting in a double entry door on our house, I started looking for a door mat meant for two doors. They are not easy to find, and are usually very expensive. This mat came in several colors, so I was able to find one that would work.

I only wish that it was a couple of inches longer to fully go from the outer left side to the outer right. I guess my double door is wider than others. Still, better than a mat meant for single door.

I purchased this mat because winter is on it’s way and I wanted something that was easy to keep clean. Rinse and dry works for me! The color is a little darker than it appears online but still workable for me.

I must have looked at over 900 mats. Page after page of mats. Then i saw the perfect mats for my front porch. My floor is black and my pillars are blue. I couldn’t have asked for more if i designed them myself.

They are very well made and look great. So much better than the typical brown mat! Love them.

I have had this mat down in my side entrance inside since Oct. 2017 and I noticed that it has STAINED my white tile floor in the entrance with a YELLOW rectangle the same size as the matt around the edges! I have tried numerous cleaning products but what ever chemical is in the rubber of this mat has stained my floor permanently and I will have to replace the floor!.

I have used these rugs for years at interior doors. If you have pets, they are a must. I prefer the 3’x4′ at doors for plenty of room when wiping wet feet, and containing wet footwear and towels, especially in cold weather.

The big plus is you can vacuum these clean inside without sucking them into the vacuum, and you can soap and hose them off outside. They dry quickly. They also last for years. If you are looking for a plush, patterned rug for your entrance, this may not be your choice, but you can find a color that is attractive if not splashy, pun intended.

They are super in mud rooms which may be where you bring in the dogs. When they start showing age, I put them out on the patio and they are great for bare feet.

I have 3 of these carpets in my home. When I was looking for a large price of carpet for my front and back door the size I needed no one had. That is until I went on Bed Bath Beyond. Not only did they have the sizes I needed they had the nicest and most durable carpet I have ever seen.

I bought two of these rather than a larger one and placed them side by side under our mudroom bench. My husband had refused to put his dirty/wet shoes underneath the bench so I needed more coverage off to the side.

I needed to cover an odd shaped staircase landing so I cut this to the shape I needed and it worked perfectly. My dog had surgery and when she can take stairs again I needed to make that landing slip proof.

We use this under our cats’ water fountain. Perfect replacement for the endless silicone mats that they’d ultimately claw to shreds and no more wet floors!

Well made , looks good, just expected a mat that was more heavy duty.

This was my 5th waterhog purchase, first “washable” one. after 6 weeks it is still not lying flat and wavy around the edges. dirt is getting underneath it and it always looks like it needs to be flattened.

the vacuum can get stuck on it too. I will be returning it for a traditional waterhog.

I have tried a lot of rugs and these are the very BEST! They vacuum easily without lifting and pet fur does not show. They are perfect under dog food bowls and at entry door! So happy with this purchase!.

It’s a stylish Waterhog runner! Looks great and performs well in my back hall. Love the honeycomb pattern, which makes it feel nicer, more like a rug than a doormat.

Would have given this doormat a better rating, but there were some issues. First, they sent the wrong color. I ordered the brown one and they sent the charcoal colored one. Second, this company has very poor quality control, because the edges of this doormat were not trimmed properly at the factory and were all uneven, and very noticeably so.

I had to take my sewing scissors and trim the edges, which probably dulled them, but the doormat does look better. Third issue, there in one area on an edge of the doormat where the rubber is kind of crumbly and some had crumbled off in the plastic bag and I do hope this will not continue, because otherwise it does seem like a durable doormat that is tough, if very sloppily made.

Do not want to bother to send it back, but would have preferred the right color and without the other issues!.

I’ve never gotten a door mat that I loved. I appreciated them, yes. But this one is a game-changer. The other one left that jute-dust on my doorstep. This one has wool. My dogs avoided the other one.

As soon as I took this one out of the box? My dog decided that it’s her new bed. (It isn’t). I came back to buy another one. I love this. It’s soft, the colors are classy, and I feel like more of an adult with this one.

I am well pleased with the 23 X 35 inch Diamonds door mat by Weather Guard. I’m using it in my kitchen on ceramic tile in front of the kitchen sink. It’s stylish with a nice geometric design of strong color which contrasts nicely with cabinets.

Mat grips the tile adequately and doesn’t slide out of place. It’s substantial enough to run the vacuum cleaner over while keeping it’s place firmly on the floor. Am pleased enough that I’ve ordered another for outdoor use in my covered front door entry of the same size in another color and design.

All in all, this mat offers both style and function, a winning combination for me.

I ordered these mats because I was replacing similar mats which I bought 7 years ago. I have them outside my front and back doors because of high traffic and sand. Living in the high desert is always a challenge.

These new mats are a good color and go with my adobe style home and they are made of recycled materials.

This is my second rug by Weather Guard. I have a smaller size in front of the entry of our slider door (inside the house), and a bigger one in the entryway to the house (also inside the house). They are durable and the deep grooves are great at collecting any dirt that we track in.

which is a lot since we live on a farm. I take these rugs outside a few times a year and power wash them to get them really clean. The rest of the time, I just give them a quick once over with my Dyson when I’m cleaning my floors.

I love the color selections, since we can always find a color that looks great in our home. I feel like if we had to go with black, they’d make it look like we had shop rugs in the house, which wouldn’t please me!.

I bought this mat for the front door for the Fall season. Such a cute pattern! However, upon stepping on it a few times the material got smushed and damaged, making it look cheap. I would suggest putting it in a low traffic area, like a side door, instead of at the front door.

Love this! Spotted on a Target run while looking for something for a friend. Talked myself out of it for about 3 aisles before I looped back around for it. Surprise bonus when checking out that it was on sale! Getting many compliments on it.

The rug getting wet isn’t a concern for me as I live in an apartment. I just thought it fit perfectly for the winter months and it portrays the vibe I like my place to be – somewhere to feel welcome and cozy! Seems to shed a little, but no more than any other rug like these so it doesn’t bother me any.

This is a cute enough doormat. I haven’t used it yet, so who’s to say how it will hold up? But my issue is with the layering of the white pumpkin OVER the world welcome. It’s hard to see in the online photos, but in person it’s quite obvious.

They also used a dark gray for the grooves in the pumpkin that line up perfectly with the ‘c. ‘ It looks smudged from a distance. And truthfully, not as vibrant in person. On the fence whether to keep this one or not.
