20 Best Dry Shampoo For Wavy Hair (2023 Updated)

In LOVE! I have tried literally every type of dry shampoo stocked on the shelves of my local Walmart, Target and Walgreen’s or CVS! I’m not even exaggerating a little bit! I have my little list of the ones that I can use, in case of emergency (ya know, the type of emergency where you don’t pay close enough attention to how much product is left in the bottle and recorder on time, so your midway through styling what is turning out to be the best hair day you’ve had in 6 months, and mid-spray, your bottle is completely empty, and your perfect hair day is ruined, all bc you didn’t order your replacement bottle last week-emergency?!) I have a stash of “acceptable” in case of that kind of emergency.

But, seriously the selection is microscopic at best and very seldom touched. because I can’t do without my L’ange Style Revival! Hands down, SR is amazing, and the absolute best dry shampoo I have ever used!! I don’t not have, nor have I found any other brand that compares to this!! My hair always comes out looking, feeling and smelling amazing, there is no chalky, powdery residue left visible in my dark brown and red hair, nor is there any deposited on my clothes when I brush through my hair or wear dark colors! That is a HUGE deal breaker for me; My chosen career field requires me to wear a uniform every day.

and no matter which uniform I have to wear, they are all very dark navy blue or solid black, so I can’t use a product that flakes white dust all over, looking nasty on my dark uniforms. Zero problem with my SR! I can use it confidently, knowing, my hair looks, feels and smells amazing, and my uniform is not wearing it, or giving my secret of unwashes hair away! Customer for life! I exclusively use l’ange products but was always afraid to hair train because I used either big Box store products, department store products or even salon products and they always weigh down my hair, caked it up and over all never worked.

They definitely wouldn’t allow me to go 4 days without washing my hair But with this I can go 4 days sometimes even 5 with different hairstyles everyday And it does not weigh my hair down it actually helps with the different hairstyles it gives it that little bit of grit that I need to go from beach waves to straight hair to curls.

I’ve gotten so many compliments on my hair and when I tell people how long it’s been since I’ve actually washed my hair there shocked and all I can do is say l’ange saved my hair game! My hair has never been more healthy, Not just from this product but from all l’ange’s products! If I could give more than 5 stars I would! L’ange is by far the best hair Care line there is! I’ve tried them all from regular hair products to ones I’ve paid 60$ from my salon for shampoo but never again l’ange will forever be my entire hair care routine from washing, brushes, products and most definitely tools! I sweat a lot in my sleep and while moving about. Mostly caused by the meds I take. At least my scalp and face sweat more. And my hair gets oily soon after washing and styling, especially after sweating much.

This is better for me than Lánge’s other dry shampoo spray in the silver bottle. And definatly better than Any other brand I’ve used! It is worth the money for sure. I use quite a bit of it and a couple times a day, and it lasts much longer than I thought it would being in a smaller can.

A little goes a long way. *Key is to shake well before and in between uses. It really helps it last much longer for me I’ve learned!* It works quick, gives me great volume, and the white spray just disappears almost instantly when I fluff my hair and work it in.

It doesn’t lighten or change my hair color as it is medium to dark brown. It doesn’t leave a residue. It smells a nice clean very mild light fragrance. And it keeps my hair looking better , longer than any I’ve used.

This stuff made with rice starch was made for me I believe! I am looking forward to trying the loose powder shampoo next as I’ve ordered it and it’s on the way! For now hair Revival is my GoTo dry shampoo for quick fresh clean hair! Absolutley Love It!! Highly recommend this and pray that they never stop selling it and I hope they never “new and improve” it, and mess it up for me lol I love it just the way it is!.

I was so impressed with this dry shampoo after having bad experiences with other brands in the past. After using the Klorane Dry Shampoo with Oat Milk, my hair went from oily and limp to dry, clean and full.

This product is quick and easy to use. It has a pleasant, clean smell without being heavily perfumed like other dry shampoos. Once applied , you do not notice that the product is there unlike other products which left me scratching my head and getting powder under my nails.

I was surprised by the light brown colour of the spray but after waiting 2 minutes and brushing it out, it blended well into my dark brown/black hair. This is such a handy haircare product for anyone without much time.

I have light blonde hair and hated using other types of dry shampoo because they would leave a dulling residue and they were difficult to dispense evenly and work through the hair. This product is great – soaks up the oil and leaves my hair shiny.

It’s also very user friendly vs the kind you sprinkle on. Hold the can about 10-12 inches away from your hair so that you don’t see any of the powdery white color. That said, that happened to me a couple of times with this and it brushed through without any problem or visual evidence.

I know what majority of you are thinking, “is this worth my money” and the answer is YES!!! I have tried SEVERAL DIFFERENT dry shampoos and this is by far my favorite and my go to! And now for the why.

Put it in at night before you go to bed, I do mean right before you count your sheep and lay your head on your silk pillow. DO NOT brush it out, have a white spot in your hair, just lay down and it will get rid of it’s self by morning.

I have tried many and I mean many dry shampoos from drug store to high end and let me tell you this is the best one yet. I have struggled with oily scalp and hair for a few years and this product just takes that away.

The thing I really like about this dry shampoo is that it does not leave my hair crispy (idk how to explain the feeling) but you don’t even feel like there is product on your hair after you spray and run your fingers through it.

I usually use it on second and third day hair and it refreshes my hair. This is my third time buying this dry shampoo and I don’t even know how to explain it but it has cause my scalp to not be oily anymore.

For the longest time I avoided dry shampoo because it made my hair feel even grosser than just letting it be a little greasy. This ACTUALLY makes my hair feel clean and refreshed, and doesn’t feel like a “product” in my hair.

It will show up white in darker hair at first, but after a minute to set and a brush through it’s fine (also, applying it at night and sleeping with it in is my preferred way of using dry shampoo as it eliminates any powdery look).

And this smells sooo good. Not overpowering or minty in a toothpaste kind of way. It’s a really refined mint scent that just gets rid of the smell that hair gets. I am officially converted to Klorane products.

Klorane Detox Dry Shampoo with Aquatic Mint exceeded my expectations for a dry shampoo. I’ve tried dozens of dry shampoo, and unlike many other dry shampoos, this product actually felt like it cleaned my hair and made my hair look refreshed.

I have fairly oily roots within 1 day of washing, so I need a good dry shampoo to keep my hair looking fresh. On the positive side, I liked the cooling sensation I get after application and that this product did not leave a white residue on my dark hair.

On the flipside, I don’t think this is truly an “invisible” finish, as the places where I sprayed it had a more satin/matte effect than the rest of my hair. I truly don’t think anyone else noticed it, but it’s an observation worth noting.

I have used many salon products and bought Goldwell due to the 1 litre special. I am sold , Goldwell is the best by far and I highly recommend these products. I am 61 yrs , my hair is fine ,I colour my hair every three weeks and this can leave it dry and frizzy.

I started with Goldwell colour Ex rich shampoo and conditioner and was impressed. After I colour my hair i always find it goes frizzy so I bought the colour shampoo and keratin colour conditioner to use as a treatment and it makes it amazingly smooth ! As my hair is fine the Keratin is too heavy to use on a regular basis but great when my hair becomes frizzy due to colouring or humidity.

Depends on how my hair feels on the day what products I use. Love these products !.

I normally buy this shampoo and conditioner through my salon. I bought it through WalMart just for the sake of convenience. The shampoo is the same. The conditioner is NOT the same as what I’ve gotten through my hairdresser.

It’s a thick-ish liquid but not a creamy consistency like conditioner normally is. I don’t know if I got a bad batch or if what I bought through WalMart is a knockoff brand.

Excellent! Used in conjunction with the Lazer Straight Shampoo this Conditioner leaves my hair so soft and smooth. I feel like I’ve given my hair a deep treatment every time I wash my hair. I use this product mainly to control the dreaded grey frizz and maintain the moisture in my hair.

My natural wave has improved and my hair shines. No more dull. And the smell of caramel is on another level, you will be fighting yourself not to wash your hair more often just for that experience. Basically, my hair has never looked so healthy since using this product.

Very disappointing result of heavy residue on my hair from this Unite shampoo and conditioner. It took 3 washings with my regular shampoo to get all the residue off. The heavy chemical smell of the conditioner was quite off putting as well, but I was willing to deal with that if it worked good.

I had high hopes because I absolutely love the 7 Seconds Detangler. This was a bad experience made even worse when I learned it wasn’t returnable because I had opened the bottles. What?!? How else am I supposed to know if it works good on my hair?! I am now stuck with an expensive loss because of LaLa Daisys unreasonable return policy.

Absolutely the bomb when it comes to boozy vanilla fragrances! Over the moon that I bought 2 bottles and planning on stocking up before this gem disappears! This starts off with a quite strong tobacco smell but give this beauty time and the most gorgeous, boozy, heady vanilla scent emerges leaving you literally sniffing your arm all day! I had 3 people ask me what I was wearing and that says something! An absolute bargain at the price and a must have in any collection (if only for the minimalist and classy bottle).

This is everything I had hoped Chopard Vanille De Madagascar would be at a fraction of the price and miles better in both longevity and performance. Absolute winner in my book!.

I bought a rollerball of this to try and while I liked it a lot it was to masculine for me and I gave it for my husband to wear. It is perfect for him since he likes to wear fragrances that are not strong and stay close to the skin.

I like to wear perfume loud and proud so this just wouldn’t have been for me even if it wasn’t so masculine, since it wears very intimate. While saying that this is a great fragrance to buy for a husband or a boyfriend because really lady’s do we want our mans fragrance to overpower what we are wearing? No we don’t! So again great for the special man in your life.

I expressed my admiration for this fragrance in the title. In addition, I will say that half an hour after testing this magic, I already ordered myself a huge bottle. I heard that this wonderful scent is being taken off the market.

Woe! Not! I need to buy more and more! The fragrance has only three notes: Oak, Bourbon vanilla and Tuberose. But the end result is such a stunning deep, rich, sensual bouquet that I don’t want to part with it for a second.

The longevity of this fragrance is amazing. I applied it to my wrist in the evening, took a shower before going to bed, and in the morning my hand still retained this witch’s scent. I am simply dying, dissolving from this perfect creation!.

I also use the conditioner, which makes my hair soft and silky without a greasy look. I would 10/10 recommend. As far as shipping goes, it arrived promptly with free shipping. It arrived as 3 small bottles instead of 1 large one, but I ended up receiving a little bit more shampoo that way so it wasn’t a bother.

It’s like paste. I purchased a bottle from my hair dresser and it’s totally different. That bottle works great and smells so good. This one has almost no smell and it’s totally like paste.

I started using this with their Volumizing shampoo and noticed a huge difference after the first use. I’ve struggled with my hair since having my son. I have long, fine hair and a lot of it. It’s naturally red but I get it balayaged blonde a few times a year.

The scent is refreshing and smells very good. It is made from a rice formula, is Paraban Free, Formaldehyde Free, Sulfate Free, Mineral Oil Free, Benzophenone Free, is Vegan, Cruelty Free, Phthalate Free and made from recycled bottles.

My hair type however does not really work for this product unfortunately. My sides and back are shaved and there is length in the center which is usually off to the side. After reading and following the directions, I used the Dry Shampoo because I was in a hurry and needed to clean my hair.

Beachwaver second chance dry shampoo is a tool to get by another day until you can wash and style again. My roots were very grown out (2+ inches) and therefore got oily a lot faster than where my hair was bleached.

I tried the Beachwaver Second Chance Dry shampoo and was a little shocked at the power of the spray! The powerful spray will lift up your hair if it is short to medium in length or layered. The scent is quite pleasant if you enjoy berry scents.

The directions said that you brush any debris away with a hairbrush after oils are absorbed. I have yet to experience any residue from using the spray. After a bit I brush or style and the appearance of greasy hair is lessened our absent.

Your hair oils are absorbed so there is more body but not significant body as if you were using a powder like Big Sexy Hair or a hairspray or other texturizing product. Best use is simply to avoid looking limp and greasy when your hair gets oily quickly or you want to wait another day until lathering up again in the shower.

I bought this dry shampoo because after years of using aerosols, I wanted something that wouldn’t actively harm the environment. I thought that this likely wouldn’t be as good, but was willing to put up with an inferior product if it meant it was better for the environment.

I was so wrong! Over the years, the aerosol dry shampoos I’ve used are TRESemme, Hask, Batiste, Philosophy, Moroccan Oil, Verb, and Amika. This Klorane dry shampoo beats all of them. All the others I’ve tried worked for one day on my fine, oily hair, but by day two, my hair was flat and heavy with product.

The Klorane dry shampoo actually gives my hair volume and works so much better on the second and third day. I’m a convert now. The only issues with this product are that it’s hard to gauge how much powder will come out with each squeeze and it takes more effort to blend, especially on darker hair.

I’ve started squeezing powder into my hands and distributing from there, which is working well. Still, I highly recommend this product especially if you have fine, oily hair.

I have been using this dry shampoo for years, but the last 4-5 bottles have been DETRIMENTAL to my hair and scalp health. When I first started using this brand it helped my hair a lot and was the best dry shampoo I’ve ever used.

However, it has left my scalp SO DRY, itchy, and sensitive!!! It gets so bad that people can literally see a flake patch in the front of my scalp. It’s visible because I have pitch black hair. Another thing I noticed is that the right side of my hair is thinning!!! THINNING.

I am more than sure that this dry shampoo is the cause!! I am so disappointed since this has been my go-to, #1 dry shampoo.

I have always had a hard time finding a dry shampoo that I liked. Most aerosol options contain alcohol or other ingredients that are too drying and irritating to my scalp. I picked this up on a whim and it is a winner for me.

I used this dry shampoo after applying a HEALTHY amount of argan oil to my hair the night before, and it left my hair looking and feeling lush and perfectly textured for my night out. For less oily days, I prefer to dispense the powder onto a makeup brush, then from there I apply it to my roots in sections.

This is the only reason I’m giving this product 4 stars instead of 5. Applying it following the product instructions results in irregular bursts of powder that are hard to control and usually result in me using way more product than I need.

I’m going to try other non-aerosol options, but I can see myself coming back to this one and being happy with it long term.

For a shampoo at this price, safe to say I was disappointed. I was going back through the product description and reviews to see what this thing is actually meant to do, and it still feels unclear. The description says “shinier, healthy-looking hair,” which suggested it was hydrating, but a lot of reviews said it was drying/stripping.

I bought this on the basis of those reviews because I have pretty oily hair which needs washing too frequently. The scent was nice – I noticed some people said it was overpowering, but I don’t notice it anymore than a leave-in conditioner or oil that you get at a hair salon.

The consistency was pretty normal for a shampoo – not too liquid, not too thick. It didn’t lather up too much, but it could still lather. And at the very least, it felt like it was easy enough to rinse out.

But every time I used this and blow-dried after, my hair ended up just as greasy as it had been prior to washing. I’ve had this happen with other shampoos (if they’re meant to be very hydrating shampoos or heavily oil-based), but it’s surprisingly rare to find one that has this effect on my hair.

Usually even general “hydrating shampoos” won’t actively make my hair greasier. This one did just that, and it’s been incredibly frustrating to spend all this time washing and blow-drying only to get greasy hair immediately afterward.

Tried it multiple times only to get the same result. Tried mixing up shampoos, and the effects really only got worse after using this one. So if anyone else is looking at the reviews thinking it might be good for oily hair (because it baffles me that everyone else here said it was too drying/stripping), do not walk, RUN away from this shampoo.

Long read so buckle up. I didn’t take a picture before and after because I didn’t expect this product to work as well as it did. I train horses five days a week, so I wear a helmet multiple hours a day and sweat comes with the territory.

I shower daily but don’t wash my hair every day, so finding a great dry shampoo is essential. Bought this product expecting it to be nearly the same as their original PhD Dry Shampoo (which is already a good product) and BOY WAS I WRONG.

The regular Perfect Hair Day dry shampoo usually left a white cast on my (thick, straight) medium brown hair no matter how little I used or how well I shook the can prior to use. Additionally, it always *felt* like I had starchy spray on my hair and usually dried it out.

This baby though, lemme tell ya. I sectioned my hair as I usually do, lightly sprayed the product in layers, left it for a minute, and then massaged it into my hair. HOLY CRAP. My hair literally looked like I washed it that day.

The most important part is my hair didn’t just look clean, it FELT clean. Absolutely no grease, no starchy feel or white cast, no frizzy roots or flyaways. It didn’t dry out my roots AT ALL and left my hair shiny.

The first time I ordered I would give it 5 stars. This is the only dry shampoo that I have found that works for my hair so far. Unfortunately, I have to take some stars for the second order I placed.

The can was 3/4ths empty. I submitted a contact form about it but after a while, I have still not heard back.

I was really impressed with this dry shampoo. I used it on second and third day hair and it absorbed the excess oil flawlessly. It was very lightweight and didn’t give you that powdery feel in the hair.

Once I put it on it blended in so well. It was not sticky either but just looked like fresh hair. I’m a brunette and it didn’t make my hair white. The smell was good, very light and doesn’t linger which I love.

You don’t have to worry about it clashing with your perfume. I love the price and the natural ingredients.

I went with this bundle due to reviews online. I’m now questioning whether my product is actually genuine as I’ve had better shampoo & conditioner from the poundshop. Reviews mentioned how shiny hair was and such fantastic condition after using even once.

I’ve now used for 3 weeks and I’m so disappointed. My hair has managed to go both dry and greasy with these products. I used to manage only washing my hair every 5 or 6 days. Now it needs washed after 2 to 3 days.

I received Batiste plant powered dry shampoo in the scent green tea & chamomile 200 ml for free for my honest opinion after testing out the product. I tend to wash my hair everyday. I know I know, not suppose to, but I just can’t help it.

It’s been 1-2 months that I have been trying to wash it less. I now wash it every other day and receiving this dry shampoo came at the perfect timing, since not only will I be able to give my hair a break from the excessive washing but I can actually test this out on my non ‘wash’ days.

Batiste dry shampoo is vegan and has a no rinse formula which is perfect to use especially when you’re in a hurry, also great to take on the go as you don’t need anything else except for a brush, and if you don’t have a hair brush, just use your fingers! I have thick dark brown hair and was a bit worried that using this would leave a white residue but that was not the case.

I followed the instructions which were easy and sprayed this in my slightly greasy roots and brushed my hair afterwards. Doesnt take long at all to use this! This does have a strong fragrance, but it’s bearable and after a few minutes it goes away.

Overall, this dry shampoo does the job at making my hair look better and not so greasy looking, it doesn’t weigh it down either, (I used this once per day, did not use several times throughout the same day) and controlling the excess oil while adding a tiny bit of volume.

I will continue to use this on the days I don’t wash my hair, but I am not the type to not wash my hair 5 days straight, I cannot do that. It’s a start for me to go 1 day without washing my hair, max I will do is go 2 days without washing it, so this is a perfect product for me to use on those lazy days when I dont want to wash my hair.

I was very excited when I saw this product was made with 100% natural plant extracts. The packaging itself is very sleek – it has a matte touch and the overall design looks very polished. I also had the original version on hand and realized the original one is actually heavier despite the same product size.

It feels like in this Green Tea & Chamomile version, the bottle in terms of packaging is lighter and less bulky, and the button for the nozzle is more comfortable and ergonomically designed. The product itself is definitely easy to use and it works well to get rid of oil buildup in the hair.

And like the original version, it does give out white patches, but can easily be combed out/worked into the hair. Just something to be aware of in case you’re in a rush or forget – always check the mirror before you leave or you may be in for a surprise! I found the scent to be a nice scent, but it may be a little strong for those who are sensitive to smell.

Batiste Naturally Instant Hair Refresh is plant powered dry shampoo, with natural extracts of green tea and chamomile. It has no parabens, sulphate, or dyes, and is vegan too. The rice powder ingredient refreshes the hair by absorbing excess oil, no water required.

It has a fresh floral scent, and now has 40% less packaging, lowering your environmental impact. Sweet! I tried this, and I think the photos speak for themselves. The first photo, matted greasy hair, and the second photo, the oily hair has vanished, and it looks plump and full.

3 easy steps: 1) shake (the can) and spray (onto your roots), 2) massage, and 3) brush and style as desired. Easy peasy! The product comes out of the spray can already dry, it was not wet at all upon application.

It required very little massaging and brushing to get the results in the photos, I’m guessing the more product you spray on at one application, the more massaging and brushing would be required. Overall, a super simple product to use, with natural ingredients, and reduced packaging, and vegan too.
