My gaming group really love this game. I like the mechanics of it, pretty easy to learn and a lot of fun to play!

Buy this. It’s fun and compact. Can be a bit mean at times.

The joy of cartographers is actually drawing your map. Funny, because it feels like work! Yet it is calming and satisfying, thinking work. I played this game over and over, even solo, upon purchasing it.

Cartographers is a much deeper game than I initially thought it would be. On the surface, we all get the same pieces, the same scoring conditions, and the same chance and doing well. And then the game happens- everyone decides to make trade offs, and soon, everyone’s board is different and you find yourself in a winning position, or languishing behind in last place! The monster cards can really mess you up! Those who choose not to deal with them will suffer consequences.

I like thinking ahead of what will score now, and what will score in the future. This keeps you focused in the present with one eye always looking ahead. Knowing how points from coins will compound over time, or negative points from monsters will also compound are important considerations.

This is a great game to play with gamers and non gamers. It’s in my top 10 games of all time! Get the whole family involved as this game plays at large counts as long as you’ve got enough map sheets.

Certain types of terrain will score in each season. Flip a card from a deck, choose which Tetris like terrain shape you want to draw on your map and for the added fun and relaxation- color it in! Then score for each season.

The one with the most points at the end of the game wins but watch out for those monsters, (drawn by your neighboring opponent) they’ll try to screw up your map design and cost you negative points! Any flip and write game that involves colored pencils or crayons, automatically count me in! This game is always fun and with all the different map packs offered, no game is ever the same! I highly recommend Cartographers!.

This game is a light-weight, almost medium-weight strategy game for family. It’s just slightly more complex than Splendor or Azul for example. It’s kind of like Tetris meets roll-and-write with cards.

There is a moderate amount of randomness to when cards come out. Some of the randomness is mitigated by the fact that everyone is playing against the same setup. Some randomness, however–on whether certain cards come up that are beneficial for how you’ve developed your map vs how someone else has developed it–is just pure luck of the draw.

I found that an acceptable amount of luck for the length of the game (20 min for 2 players, 45-60 min for 4), and especially because all the other aspects are excellent. It’s really fun to draw on your map.

You can keep it minimalistic or indulge. You can use the normal pencils provided or supplement with colored pencils of your own. There’s also a very fun puzzle-y feeling to fitting everything together.

There’s a little bit of “take that” where you draw a “monster” card and get to mess with the player on your right, giving them an extra challenge. It’s not severely debilitating or anything though; I enjoyed it and everything about this game pretty much.

The only way it could be improved is if there were somehow a little less of the luck. Besides that it hits on all cylinders for me.

Blood Bowl is a great game. The usual tldr is that this is Rugby in the Warhammer World, which says a lot about the setting but not much mechanically. Blood Bowl has a good balance of strategy and luck, occasionally referred to as ‘chess with dice’.

Risk mitigation plays a key roll in successful play, and players need to balance the risk/reward of each play to make the best use of the team. But onto the book itself. It’s well produced, looks very pretty.

It is a sturdy hardback with an excellent print finish. Importantly it contains all the rules at launch of Blood Bowl 2020. Of course it has ambiguities and errors as all GW books have, however there is already an FAQ and Errata available online to resolve these.

The book also has a good index which helps in the search for rulings. If you’re already a Blood Bowl player then the rulebook is all you need for the new Season. If you’re looking to get into the game it’s honestly hard to recommend this over the box set, which includes the rules as well as the pitch, dice, templates and two teams for very good value! Hence 4 stars over 5.

For the most part, it was okay to read. But once I got to the Blood Bowl 7’s I was in heaven. It held the rules for BB7s which I had been waiting for. You can buy the soft-back and receive the same information for a lower price.

If you enjoy the game of Blood Bowl, you will enjoy the shortened time it takes to play Blood Bowl 7’s. The BB7s rules make this a very good buy for BB fans.

Death Zone is a fun expansion for Blood Bowl with rules like new wizards, spells, pitch types, new star players and coaches and even rules for fielding a Giant on your teams! All this as well as “flavorful additions” like the halfling hotpot, literally, make this a must have for any fans of BB wishing to and even more mayhem to games of Blood Bowl.

We have Carcassonne game and whole family absolutely loves it. Bought this Expansion and it defiantly added more fun and variety to the original one.

If you enjoy Carcassonne, this is a great expansion. It adds in several new rules that can be played or omitted as you wish. BEWARE: This is a NEW EDITION EXPANSION. so if the minor updates to the tiles or meeples (gray is now pink) is going to bother you, then you may want to pass on it, but we don’t find it’s too bad.

Loving this expansion, following the circus around the board really adds an extra dimension to the game and changes the tactics. It also significantly extends the play time (which can be a good or a bad thing!).

If you stack them in regular Jenga orientation, it is 27″ MAX. It’s not a “giant stackers game” nor would most people use this in the backyard or at a tailgate.

We never took them out of the package. When you offer team colors that means the color of your team not the picture of the Steelers.

Not worth returning. Now I am stuck with something I probably will not use. This will definitely make me think before I order from them again.

Bought them on a whim. I really like the art. There are some interesting mechanics that I don’t really have my head wrapped around yet. I recommend doing some research before buying. I should have. Will have to look into the cards a bit more when I have some free time.

Bought this box to open some packs and have some fun with friends. Ended up pulling almost everything I wanted. If you have the money to spare and would rather purchase packs than singles, I found this one worth it.

My kids are crazy football fast and we so pumped to get this game. I’ll start with the cons: the instructions are extremely complicated. My kids are 9 and 12 as none of us could quite understand. There are a lot of pieces involved to this game.

Pros: the quality of the materials is wonderful, they seem very high quality and the look of the game is really cool, lots of details. I hope we can try again and figure out how to play bc the set up is fun.

It’s hard to keep kids too interested in board games given all the electronics – but my son does love football. He was excited to try this and enjoyed coming up with plays. But I don’t see it getting a ton of use honestly.

If you had two kids who were both really in to the playmaking strategy stuff, maybe it would be more fun. My husband didn’t want to play all the time and none of his friends are that in to football. Game is good quality.

Draft Boosters are an excellent way playing magic in a draft/sealed/limited format of Magic while also adding a lot of cool and new range of cards to your collection that can be used for your other decks in other Magic formats, including Commander.

In particular Zendikar Rising offers some very cool game mechanics to play with in a limited format setting including Kicker, Landfall, DMFCs, and the Party Mechanic. A lot of Zendikar Rising cards can be used for Commander which is particularly appealing if you also play Commander as well.

In terms of gameplay for limited format, draft boosters are still the way to go, you can still have so much fun opening draft boosters and the limited gameplay of Zendikar Rising has been very fun to play with.

Constructing decks is very fun with this set because of the dual model cards that can also be used as lands which makes deck creating and assembling very fun in Limited. Plus with the purchase of the Draft Booster Box, you also get a Box Topper non foil Expedition land which has a great border and can be very valuable depending on which one you open! I do highly recommend the product for new, experienced and returning players of Magic!.

– Came as expected. Had the sealed card bonus in it. Had good mix of mythic rates, which I watch for in sealed products and vendors. (i. e. no tampering noticed) – Came ontime and with good price. – Sealed box came damaged, but seal was not broken.

It was not shipped in a harder cardboard box and the edges were broken and it was out of shape. No card damage, but it is midely concerning when the cards could easily be damaged, value decrease by bad shipping.

– Overall happy. I ordered a different MTG product and it came inside a cardboard box so I feel better about the shipping. I’ll continue to watch for damage on cards though.

Collector Store always has good prices and I picked up my order in the store because you can’t get buy-a-box promos if you have your order delivered, but my order was ready even before I was ready to pick it up.

Overall, I think the expedition boxtopper idea is one of the best marketing ideas that Wizards has done for a while. You get quite a bit of extra value with your box. From the 5 boxtoppers I’ve opened, they really seem to be random.

Overall thus far mine have probably been about average. Mine were (in order of value): Cavern of Souls, Verdant Catacombs, Arid Mesa, and 2 Horizon Canopy. Getting the 2 canopies in a case makes me think that the distribution of boxtoppers is very random.

From a collector’s perspective, the boxes have been good. Each one (including the 5th, as I only have a few packs to open from it) has had at least 5 mythics (not including the box topper), and one had 6, so that’s been above average.

I haven’t had much time to look at the values of my mythics, but as a collector, the more, the better. Overall, I think the box toppers make buying a box of Zendikar Rising a really good value.

The graphics are solid. The gameplay is good. The tackles and catches are great from an animation standpoint. However its the little things in the game modes that keep this from being a great game. In franchise mode the scouting for the draft is set up very well.

I think its a great thing that you have busts and hidden diamonds that require you to really scout players. However the drafts themselves are all over the board in terms of talent. You might have a draft with hardly any good players at multiple positions whereas there might be 20 good middle linebackers.

That isn’t realistic and hurts the entire draft process. The way you progress your players also hurts a bit. They made it very difficult to get experience in comparison to past titles. Especially on the defensive side of the ball.

You better make sure you either get very good players or young guys that are already a Superstar in terms of progression. I like the concept that they done with in-game drive goals giving you extra experience.

It needed to be tweaked because its pretty dumb for you to lose experience because your goal was to run the ball 4 times and you scored a touchdown on the first carry. When you accomplish something better than the task it should automatically award you the experience.

But the game is enjoyable and well worth the price now that it is no longer a new release. For $10 with the option to update the roster its well worth it.

Let me start by saying that I went into this year’s Madden with an open mind after reading some positive reviews and doing research of my own on the game. I should have expected it to be what I thought it might be, but I gave it a shot.

To my dissatisfaction, I found out the hard way to not trust the developer of the Madden titles as well as the publisher, EA. Same crap, different year. Graphics? PS3 with some lighting and higher resolution.

Gameplay? Tight and responsive as it should be. However, the presentation needs vast amounts of improvement if I’m to ever look at purchasing another Madden game. The commentary is awful. You’ll quickly become annoyed when you’re hearing them repeat themselves time and time again.

Stadiums have no life. The stadiums and low resolution, poorly textured, thrown together dumps. My Colt’s Lucas Oil Stadium looks particularly bad. The crowds don’t react well to the actual flow of the game, they are often out of sync with touchdowns and flags, etc.

The UI flows well, but looks dated and unimaginative. Much like the overall product. Animation one of the worst aspect of the game. Player models are stiff and lifeless. In conclusion, if you’re interested in Madden 16, think twice and watch some gameplay from an external source before committing.

Mightsave you some time and money.

Madden the Football game everyone loves around the season and holidays. Sure enough the game has improvements and handles great. The game offers many different modes and ultimate team is still great with picking players you may have seen on espn classic or when you were younger.

The game would be rated 5 stars if it wasn’t for these issues. The commentary has been brutally terrible in recent years and this year is still ongoing. The commentary is boring,flat and doesn’t keep up with the pace of the game.

With the advanced controls on WR being YAC,Aggressive and Possession gives the WR an advantage if you throw it up to a tall receiver 9/10 they catch it so its kind of over powering and has your wonder He Really Caught That!!!!.

All in all great game if you’re a seasoned madden player you’ll love hate some parts of the game but still good fun with friends and family.

Box was protected for shipment. Now Jace is sitting on my self, staring me in the face. He whispers, holding a big stick, “Open me. Open me. ” I look back at him saying nothing, knowing his time will come.

Super fun and tons of options for deck building. We play casually and everyone built a competitive deck, showing how good a job they did balancing the set. We didn’t look at deck strategies, so I’m sure spikes could make it less fun, but then it is a 4 player match… Great Product.

Damage to booster cases seems increasingly prevalent of late. My commander legends case had a hash in the side that damaged two boxes. Will have to rethink buying cases.

The only thing that would be better than this Commander Legends draft booster box is the collector’s booster box.

The instructions are terrible to put it together, but once you spend a few hours putting it together it’s great when it’s finally up! My son loves it, and it helps him to do tricks. Doesn’t take up too much room either.

No complaints at all. Would recommend.

Good concept. Poorly engineered. The Net structure has holes to bolt into the orange frame. However, the frames holes and the nets holes are almost perpindicular to each other, making it impossible to attach.

And the connectors to the ramp are little better. They could have devised a way to quick connect/disconnect the ramp so the collapsing frame would collapse (novel idea), and it could be stored and transported easily.

Purchased for 17 yr old. Constantly uses it- even in the house creates constant touches. I am sure when weather is better it will be an outside training tool.

The *atmosfear* in the game is *phantastic*- replete with evocative imagery on both the cards and game components. The board state is reasonably managable, while skill checks have enough mitigation to reward player agency.

Certain missions are extremely difficult, but it ain’t a game if you can’t lose. Personally, I find said challenge highly thematic- given its implications of madness and despair and find games wherein loss is rare to be more an excuse for beer & friends rather than dungeons & dragons.

My only gripe with this title is the miniature quality, wherein costs were clearly cut. Attaching many enemies to their bases is impossible without glue, while some have a small foot peg that may or may not affix properly due to inconsistent molding.

Size was also not properly considered from a design perspective, as many of said figures do not fit well on the board- crowding it at times. Fortunately, this is offset by the game being more atmospheric than combative, and the fact that the investigator minis at least come adjoined to their own bases, requiring no assembly whatsoever.

Ultimately, yes. I would recommend this game. The content and mechanics are well written/executed, and if it wasn’t for a few fiddly component gripes- I would’ve given it 5/5.

If you like Chuthulu type mysteries, then this is the game for you. This game is a bit app heavy and in our first game, we found ourselves occasionally forgetting to go back to the board to move our pieces there.

It is easy to get used to though and I can imagine that the number of pieces and the amount of board/rule management that would be required without the app would be very cumbersome and could take some of the joy out of the experience.

The app acts kind of like a GM, which is nice if you are looking for a game everyone can just jump into without the need for a GM. If you like games where you get to solve a mystery with your friends or role-playing type board games, definitely give this one a try.

There is plenty of replayability too, so if you like this kind of game the investment is worth what you get out of it.

This is a great game and I highly recommend it. I would give this game an 8 or 9 on the BGG scale but when I look at the categories provided for this review, I realize that the value for money is a bit on the lackluster side.

However the gameplay per dollar is amazing! What I mean by these two statements is that you don’t really get a lot of bang for your buck in terms of the volume of content, but the content that you do get is of a very high quality and quite impressive! Plus you can pretty much play this game with anyone, even people who know NOTHING about modern board games because the app guides you through so much stuff.

That being said, someone should still to know how to play the game and be able to reference the rulebook to ensure everything is on track. I hate that the miniatures are of such poor quality, they look good but are flimsy, rubbery, and would not likely hold a paint job well due to the flexible plastic.

Also the minis don’t really fit in the base holes so most of the time the minis stay in the box and we just use the cardboard tokens. Aside from the minis, every single component is of the BEST quality of it’s time, and I would even say that these components are some of the highest quality even in August 2020.

The other negative thing about this game is that there are only 4 scenarios with the core box on the app. You can buy 1-2 more for $5 each but then that’s all you get. Now the cool thing is that each scenario you repeat ends up being different, there is a random generator in the app that does change things up a little.

After you play each scenario 2-3 times then you have likely exhausted everything new the game has to offer. I have no expansions but as I understand it, adding new enemies, investigators, tiles, and npc characters is supposed to make every scenario you already have feel different and fresh PLUS you get extra scenarios.

I believe there are only 10-12 scenarios between all the expansions which seems pretty light however for most people that is plenty of game.

For anyone that’s new looking to but MTG for yourself or a friend/family. Please save your money and do not buy this inflated package, you can easily go to your local game store and buy 3 MH2 draft boosters for $4-6 a piece.

Very competitive pricing on the box tipped the scales for me. I opened some great mythics too, thanks to Game Nerds for selling the good booster boxes!

Absolutely fantastic set. An absolute blast to draft. Tons of great commander goodies, too. Why can’t all magic sets me this good?

Too fun when you can serve up most any kind of drink to play the game! Even sour lemon juice works when kids play!

Fun drinking game

I used to play this years ago and I am pleasantly surprised about how much fun it is on the PC. Basically it is an adaption of American Football in the Warhammer universe and pits Human, Wood Elf, Dark Elf, Dwarf, Goblin, Orc, Skaven, and Chaos races against each other.

Each race has certain advantages, weaknesses and challenges. I play the turn based game as it was originally designed and you move each of your players once per turn or until you fail an action and give your opponent their turn.

It is played in two halves with 8 turns per half with random events at each kick off. Your team can try and knock down (or ideally knock out) your opponents to create space to run through so you can pass the ball or group your players together and try to grind your way to the opponents endzone.

Touchdowns are scored by having your player cross into the opponents end zone with the ball in their possession. I’ll quickly get the downsides out of the way: the user interface is a little confusing at first as you try to navigate menus and the load times are quite slow (machine speed dependant of course, but I don’t have a top end machine!).

The actual game play itself translates well and makes working out moves easier than the board version. The graphics are good with some nice animations such as trolls throwing (or sometimes eating) goblins.

The AI is ok and the real challenge comes from playing human opponents on the net. The game is just as frustrating with dice rolls as playing in real life: you can get some very bad results even with rerolls.

I haven’t bothered with the real time adaption as I bought the game for the original experience and this more than satisfies my needs. After getting a campaign going it wasn’t long before I was telling myself: just one more game then I’ll go to bed.

Creating a team from scratch and improving players along the way is rewarding especially with the risk of them dying!.

First of all I’ve only given Blood Bowl 3 stars for one unfortunate reason, for fans who already know the rules this game is easily 5 stars. The reason for the average 3 stars being the lack of a decent tutorial.

Those of us who do not already know the game inside and out will be left feeling lost and confused after the initial tutorial. Having no real practice and being thrust into matches with little strategic knowledge of the games inner workings.

Most people will need a good 10-20 games before they understand all of the rules and how best to position their players and perform actions in an efficient manner. Despite the insufficient tutorial however this game is fantastic and stays true to the original game.

The graphics are great and the gameplay is fun once you get the hang of it. Personally I find the lack of music during a match a bit boring but you can easily put your own soundtrack on in the background.

The races and players are as unique as ever with a nice amount of customization available. Along with all the quirks of the races included, cheating Goblins weilding chainsaws and Dwarfish Deathrollers to name a few.

So all in all a fantastic game for fans who already know and love the game, and once they get a hang of it a fantastic game for newcomers too.

This has been available for some time by direct download and has undergone numerous patches that have fixed the bugs in it. What it has finished as is a very faithful rendition of the board game with a mixture of the tactics, violence and quirky humour that has made Blood Bowl great over the years.

Only 8 races are available at present (Humans, Dwarves, Elves, Orcs, Chaos, Skaven, Goblins, Lizardmen) though more are expected to be added through patches/expansions. However this does give a fairly good spread of speed, strength, toughness and mutations to appeal to whatever you like to play.

It should be noted that Blood Bowl has something of a learning curve and the tutorial is not the most helpful. It would pay to download the Blood Bowl Living Rulebook (free) and have a read of it as it explains a lot of the rules (and more importantly game mechanics) a lot better than the manual.

After that, visit the Cyanide forums and read some of the forum posts that deal with how to get the most out of your blocking and the order in which to perform certain actions. This will save you a LOT of heartache down the track even if it seems like a bit of a time investment.

All in all, a great game that will suck you in. There’s plenty of folks online waiting to give you some serious opposition once you get tired of the fairly decent AI. There’s nothing like killing your oppoent’s star ogre to put a smile on your face!.

So I have established a reputation of being the cool uncle and maintaining that reputation is a top priority of mine. That’s why I decided to go with this miniature football. This ball did not disappoint and my reputation as the cool uncle is more solid than ever! After I got this football I immediately started playing inside the house which of course is against my sister’s rules but what is she going to do to me? I’m a grown man that has proven myself unresponsible in determining what is appropriate for inside play multiple times so she knows what she’s getting every time she invites me over.

My nephew loved this little ball. We had a great time playing with this ball until an errant throw sent the ball into a lamp but lucky no damage was done. More good marks for the football.

My son is in a youth tackle league, and his position is quarterback. For someone in middle school, I’m proud of his thirty yard plus passes that are stunningly beautiful. Such a nice arc and spiral. His bullet passes are scary fast.

Get ready as there’s a lot of zip. This is the official ball of his high school, and also for most NCAA colleges. It’s going to cost you. Yep $100 or a little more, but this is one high quality ball.

The leather and stitching alone, are far superior to replicas and the like. Wonderful grip and the ability to pass this, it’s amazing what it can do in the air. It’s that good. I’m glad to recommend this, and by all means break it in.

Definitely store in a dry place too, as this is one to be taken care of.

This is actually not a bad ball, but I didn’t feel like the “grip” rating on the box matched the grip that the ball had in comparison to other Wilson balls that are a little bit more expensive, so I returned it.

With a lot of footballs, for some reason, they have some sort of surface protectant added to it and you need to wash it off, or prep it, prior to playing with it. So that’s what I did. It helped a little bit but not a lot.

Unless I actually sprayed some tack spray on it, I couldn’t grip it the same way that it’s supposed to be gripped, therefore, there’s no way you can actually throw the ball correctly. If you spend a little bit more money, you could get a much better grip.

Or you can spend a lot more money and get the best grip.

I’ve continuously played MTG since 1996. I am one of those people who never sold out and has swabbed up playsets of everything from Arabian Nights forward, and am a Magic omnivore when it comes to play styles, formats and power levels.

Of all of that interest and context, I can nonetheless say that Time Spiral block, when it came out, was a real highlight — it was a very satisfyingly complex set full of references in both flavour and mechanics to the origins of the game, complete with interesting takes on card frames and a truly deep draft experience that never devolved into “archetype A versus archetype B.

” This set features a pared-down, concentrated approach to the Time Spiral experience, which drafts like a finely-polished version of the block. Also, you get an original-border subset card in every pack, and these are real treat (if you are used to the modern border, these are a fun diversion, and if you are like me and still think the original border and font style was the best and should never have been abandoned, well, you obviously can appreciate these.

) Unfortunately, WotC has gone fully into “leave no money on the table” mode, and their pricing/marketing strategy people are basically subverting, as they have time and again with Masters sets and such, much of the hard balance work the designers have put into an excellent limited environment.

Personally, I bought embarrassing stacks of Time Spiral Remastered booster boxes when they weren’t $1 zillion dollars, even though I need precisely 0 of these reprints. Why? A) Singles flipping (with some luck), B) to keep a box or two sealed for greedily inflated sale years from now (I learned it by watching you, WotC, ha ha), but most importantly C), to build a cube out of this and thus be able to draft it with friends until the sun burns out.

If these motivations sync up with one or more of yours, consider this: if the price is still nutty-high on this (not MM or any other seller’s fault), reason A is now not a good one to buy this set in sealed-product form.

Reason B might be — but be careful. Reason C, meanwhile, might be a good reason to pick up singles from the set instead — I’m sure MM will have them on-hand. Of course, you could always follow the set’s list (and tweak as you like) and build your own cube out of the original prints of the cards, too, if you have them or would rather buy those.

Bottom line: great in theory, but should be a $4 booster pack set, like everything should. WotC really makes it much harder to assess the worth of buying a booster of a set like this for people who aren’t nuts like me, frankly, and that’s a bummer and makes even nuts like me less interested in supporting the game in the future.

That’s a shame, though, if they are going to put out otherwise A-level stuff like this.

Glad I got this set preordered. Best decision I’ve made. The value has paid for itself. Collector store is always selling sealed products and supplies at great value! Shipping is amazing and I am well pleased with their service.

Best set to come out in years, and awesome to be able to draft a classic older block that most missed out on. The old style cards in every pack are cool too. They really hit the mark on this set, aside from the complete lack of availability.

Je dois tester ce jeu. Quel jeu cool. Les images sont très belles et les joueurs ressemblent à de vraies personnes. Je recommande ce jeu à tous ceux qui aiment le football et les jeux

Un peu plus difficile cette année j’ai l’impression mais ca reste un bon fifa. Par contre l’avis qui dit que le jeu n’est pas en français mdr il est dans toutes les langues suffit de de sélectionner “France” au début ou dans les paramètres.

Le gameplay n’est toujours pas à la hauteur! encore une déception! Il faudrait le gameplay de e football! Le jeu serait top!
