20 Best Bike Tire Pressure Gauge (2023 Updated)

After using the old fashioned push out analog for my whole life I was a bit dubious to try this, But at this price I figured why not. My mechanical one is tedious and sometimes have to measure several times to get a reading that I thought was correct.

And sometimes it let more air out than I wanted skewing the reading. But that’s they way we did it. I turned this on and wasn’t really happy to see so many choices. All I wanted was PSI. So I cycled through until I got to PSI.

I pressed it onto the valve and It registered almost immediately with little or no loss of air. OK I thought not bad. This week it was time to check all 8 tires again. I hadn’t noticed this since the last time I used it but it remembered my PSI setting, and continued to remember it through my tire filling.

Of course I brought my mechanical one along to check it. Once again not a solid connection and loss of air with the mechanical one. After the second tire I didn’t use the mechanical one again. No air loss, fast readings and I didn’t say but the AstroAI Digital was always within.

5 pound of the mechanical one. The filling went much faster with less double checking and faulty connections. It saved time and effort! I would have liked a small nub or bump to help me let air out when I put in to much but no big deal.

My old one will be good for that.

While these gauges do what they are intended for you are essentially getting what you pay for here. Upon unboxing all three gauges they feel like the cheap plastic pieces that they are made of. Very lightweight with very little heft to them The plastic body is very slick which makes it hard to hold on to especially in awkward angles.

There is also nothing to use to release air in the case of an overinflated tire. Finally the LCD readout can be funny to see, looking straight on it’s hard to read the dim/washed out numbers but tilt it to 15-20 degrees away from you and it is clear as day.

This was the same for all three gauges. Now on the positive side, the light is nice on the nozzle and the screen especially in the dark. In actual use, reading tire pressure is fast and all three gauges were within 1 psi of each other.

The fact that I purchased a three pack to have a couple to throw into the glove boxes of the cars for emergencies and have a spare for the garage these will do just fine.

As accurate as my $90 Motion Pro 08-0684 digital gauge; they actually read exactly the same at 14% the cost. This proves tire pressure gauges don’t have to cost a fortune to be accurate. I came to realize there is no need to pay more than $15-$20 for a TPG.

Digital is definitively better than analog bourdon tube mechanisms. Incorrect tire pressure translates to premature tire wear, degrades ride quality, can increase fuel cost and cause long-term suspension damage, so to me, anything beyond a 1.

5 Lbs. reading error is a big deal and unacceptable. I recommend this gauge; it meets my needs and I would buy again.

Absolutely no loss of air from the tire when checking pressure. Other gauges have 6”-20” tubes that have to be filled with air from your tire before you get a pressure reading. With the small volume of air in a bike tire that tube can take up to 10 psi out of your tire.

Not so with this gauge. Best gauge I’ve ever seen in over 40 years of riding bikes. Small, rugged, and comes with a padded case. I’m telling everyone I know to get this gauge.

After reading an article in Bicycling about inaccurate tire pressure readings on hand pumps I decided to buy the Jayco bike tire gauge. I’ve had other gauges but they never sealed well and didn’t have a pressure release valve.

I’m now constantly spot on using lower pressures and tire sealant.

I’ve been using your new Jayco priests air pressure gauge daily and I find it to be well built and sturdy and acurate. I absolutely love the non-digital analog construction. Keeping batteries around is never a concern with this unit.

I was skeptical of a digital gauge because I figured they would be somehow less accurate. This gauge was put to the test. I kept it in my work shorts pocket for a few days and periodically would test every tire I had, including one on my wagon that has a slow leak.

It was consistently spot on. And it lights up bith on the read out as well as the tip so it acts as mini green flashlight. Glad I got one.

Non-replaceable battery and a light that can’t be turned off. Ugh! I would not have bought this if the description was clear that the battery cannot be replaced. I never want to buy anything like that.

This “feature” makes it useless as an emergency tool since it could fail fatally at any time. Ecologically irresponsible to manufacture such crap. Get a mechanical one, or one with a standard size, replaceable battery, not this thing.

The battery will die on you when you need it the most. You have to restart the device in between taking each tire pressure reading. And then your batter will be low because the light stays on, and you will not get an accurate reading bc the battery is low “Lo Bat” will read on the display.

Hard pass on this trash!.

Nicely made and handles presto valves as well as Shrader. It also allows air to be released to arrive at the desired pressure with an extra button, which is handy and covered by the instructions as an earlier reviewer points out! Is it necessary for bicycles? Your choice but I am pleased with it.

I am also a motorcyclist and tyre pressures are very critical here – for me on each trip. I use several hand pumps for the bicycles and the pump gauges show wild variation – as much as 15-20%. On the motorcycles I use a Venhill gauge which was extremely accurate in a recent Ride magazine test.

The Topeak pressure gauge showed 34 psi against the 35 psi of the Venhill on a car tyre (the Topeak works on the car Shrader valves too – the Topeak measures up to 250 psi) – so, the Topeak gauge is much more accurate than the wild variation on the hand pump gauges.

I am much happier with this – I much prefer a precise reading as a long-time motorcyclist who is used to taking a meticulous view with my maintenance. Probably over the top on a bicycle but my Mavic Allroad wheels on a CX bike have a maximum pressure warning of 65 psi and I much prefer accuracy.

So, very pleased with the Topeak gauge – the pumps I can use to put pressure into the tyres and the Topeak to introduce some consistency in the pressures – but you choose as I say!.

My wife and I use these gauges from 2016. This year I bought the second one just for my convenience to have it in my car. The old one still works perfectly well! It is a must-have gauge for cycle enthusiasts, automobilists and bikers.

You can measure both Presta and Schrader, up to 250 psi. Works for wheels, forks and shocks. Super easy to use, three units (psi, Kgf/sm2, Bars), one movement change between Schrader and Presta, precise air release for the fine pressure adjustment, and very reliable construction.

With excellent BikeInn prices, it is just a bargain, must-have instrument.

If you’re looking for a small digital tire gauge, and you’re willing to either accept a little less than dead accurate measurements, or have access to a very accurate gauge you can use to calibrate with, then this is a pretty nice deal.

If you’re looking for a tire deflation kit, for your 4×4 this is not going to be a long term answer. The pressure release is pretty slow. I can re-inflate my tires fasters than I can deflate them with this gauge (Jeep Rubicon Unlimited).

And I had an accurate gauge I could use to compare readings with, so this is. okay. For under $20 I’m not sending it back. For tuning my inflation to a specific PSI this fine, especially knowing it’s level of accuracy.

Okay, not a raving review, but really, it’s okay. just not great.

I got a new Mountain bike with Presta valve stems & needed an accurate tire gauge to be sure that I am riding on appropriate tire pressures. I like to ride with 27 lbs in the rear & 24 lbs in the front.

I especially like the thumb button that allows me to bleed off excessive pressure. This gauge lets me get dialed in perfectly.

This is a very high quality tire gauge that feels and looks great. Very accurate and easy to use. The hardware is robust and gives the impression it will last a very long time. It is well worth the money spent.

It would more likely be used around a shop or garage as it is large and weighty. A smaller gauge would work better on the trail. Great product and great support.

So happy I made this purchase. I was relying on my bicycle pump gauge for my mountain bike tire pressure. Now I have an accurate and easy to use and read tire gauge. I love that I can get the pressure I want using the relief valve if I over fill the tire.

I received a defective air pressure gauge. Called jayco and was sent another one right away. The second one was also defective. I took them both apart and was able to get one accurate. The other was 4 lbs off.

No quality control. One was at 10 lbs before any air added and the other one had needle on opposite side of the little stop. That’s the one I fixed. the ones I got should had never been sent out. You could tell the was bad just by looking at them.

purchased new motorcyclle nd needed an on board tire gage to keep the tires properly inflated. With the temps constantly changing this time of year in sega you are riding in the 80s one day and the 60s the next.

Just trying to keep a steady pressure. This gage does a great job. No leeks and holds the air for checking the readings without standing on your head. Been a long time jaco fan and will continue to be one.

The gauge I got is an absolutely top-of-the-line product. I was in need of a gauge to keep in my 93 Supra, and given how much I’ve already spent on that car, it made sense to go the extra mile and get a proper gauge to go with it.

It has a very sturdy build, and the functionality is great for the price. Really nice to have the flexible hose and the two pivot points, and the pressure hold and bleeder functions, while quite common at this point, work flawlessly.

It is everything that it was advertised to be, and for an excellent price as well. I’ve already recommended it to all of my other car guy and gal buddies, and would recommend it to anyone else as well.

Easy to read pressure, deflation button is a nice feature used often when getting tire pressure just right. The angle that gauge is installed vs chuck makes it difficult to get chuck properly fitted to valve stem while observing the pressure gauge.

Works best to just fit chuck on valve stem, release and then read pressure. Have not used in the dark so can’t comment on illuminated dial. The storage bag is a nice bonus.

Anyone can afford an excellent tool like this. Much better to have a gauge with a narrow 0-60 range, so you can more accurately gauge pressure. I ignore manufacturer’s recommendation and innate to 37 pounds to maximize fuel economy and tire wear on the average passenger car.

You can do it accurately with this gauge. I tried electronic gauges and got tired of failures and dead batteries. Some things are better mechanical!.

I got the item within a couple of days, way quicker than I expected. The design and construction make it easy to take measurements from different locations on different sizes of tires, and it holds readings very well.

That’s the quality I expected from Made in US. Two thumbs up.

This gauge is accurate (checked it against 2 other gauges) and is sturdy. The connectors fit well on the valves and it is comfortable to hold with the rubber encased dial. Air doesn’t leak out when you are checking the tire pressure, either.

These products are top notch but after almost a year my gauge just stopped working. For some reason the needle got stuck at 10psi. I emailed JACO and they rapidly sent me a replacement. Fast response and phenomenal customer service.

Won’t hold pressure after only about one year old. I bought Slime brand because I thought they were a better quality. Maybe I got a lemon.

Works well, head could be a little bigger all round but adequate.

Gauge will hold tire pressure reading until button is pushed.

I did quite a bit of research to find the best tire gauge tool to use on the race track. There are many tools on the market and some are much more expensive, so I asked the Pirelli tire guys and they mention that they use this tool and it works great.

I bought one for myself and it has been working great. It is important to keep the gauge away from sun and heat because the batteries heat up and the tool stops working.

Excellent reusable filter element, used by the likes of F1 teams in professional racing. Well built, no fitment issues. Sounds slightly better, freer breathing, could be slightly more competitively priced against some of its other competitors.

Upgraded to the digital gauge after my Motion Pro liquid filled gauge went vastly out of spec after 3 years. Unlike that model, this one doesn’t need to be exposed to the atmosphere to remain accurate.

Back lit screen is a nice touch, and no signs of needing the batteries replaced after several months of frequent use.

This pressure gauge is exactly what you need to get accurate PSI in your tires. I check my tires every time I ride and this gauge is great. The only downside I see is it may be fragile but I would think that most pressure gauges are.

Totally worth the money!.

I have both the 60psi presta and schrader version and both are really closely calibrated. The Presta reads 1psi lower than the 2 Schrader I have so I might get another presta to see which one to believe.

Once you have your ideal pressure, it doesn’t matter as long as it’s accurate each time, and it seems to be. The gauge is made with good materials and seems to be made to last. It keeps the pressure on the dial indicator as long as you don’t reset it with the little button.

I’d give it 5 stars if all my 3 gauges would read the same pressure, but otherwise it’s great and I’ll buy another one!.

Possibly the most cost effective tool in my kit. Coming from an old-school, pre-suspension era mentality, I usually just set tire pressure by feel. With this gage, I realized that my feel wasn’t very accurate, and I was generally under-inflating tires.

Newer high-end tires with the modern rubber compounds can be run at higher pressures with good grip, comfort, and handling. My WTB Bronson & Schwalbe Nobby Nic are happily speeding my x-c bike along at 35 psi(2-3 psi either way makes a real difference).

This gage can bleed air out about 0. 5 psi at a time for very accurate setting. Very easy to tune your ride!.

This gauge has a large palm-sized dial, enabling more accurate readings than gauges with smaller dials. The build quality is substantial and the dial is protected by heavy rubber casing. The two bleed/release valves work great.

I am using it for setting the initial pressure on kart tires. (See picture for relative size. I wear size large gloves. ).

I picked this up for setting air pressure on my drag radials. Very easy to read with it’s large face and the bleed valve lets me set the pressure exactly where I want it quickly. Glow in the Dark face is an added bonus.

Nice hard case to protect it too! I highly recommend this product.

What I was looking for has a nice large face easy to read day or night. The duel button high air bleed compared to the single button is a nice thing.And it came with a pretty nice case to put it in

A few weeks ago I had a low pressure warning appear, indicating I was four pounds low in the front right tire on my 2010 Boxster Base after a short drive. Got out the compressor and got it going, hit the valve on the tire with about four seconds of air, and proceeded to check the results of my work with the chrome, pocket clip tire gauge I kept in the Boxster glove box.

The PSI indicator shot out to near full extension, telling me I now had 65 pounds in my tire. Tried again, same thing. Clearly something was up with this gauge. I bought it brand new and put it in the glove box a little over five years ago when I bought the car.

This gauge usually sees action three or four times a year when temps change and I need to add air. I’ve used this type of gauge my whole driving life. I retrieved a similar gauge from the family VW, and got the correct four pounds added back to the Boxster tire.

If I’d been out on the road somewhere, I’d be out of luck. I decided it was time to spend a few more bucks and get something I don’t have to worry about. I found reviews for the Jaco gauge, bought three of them and put them in every car, and have been extremely happy with my purchase.

Really like this pressure gauge for checking my truck tires, but I mainly bought for checking our camper tires that have a higher PSI. I can also check our low PSI ATV tires and this thing gives accurate readings where the needle holds until you reset back to zero.

I had a issue with my tire gauge after about a year and customer service was excellent in replacing the item right away since JACO stands beyond their products. Will definitely keep buying JACO tire gauges for years to come.

i had this tire gauge for 2 years and it worked perfect. then i noticed this spring that it was off by 7psi. i contacted customer service and they got me a new one right away, no questions asked. they even communicated on the week end.

It is small and compact which makes it easy to store in the glove comparment of the car. If the readout was a little larger it would be easier to read but for the price it was a good value. I have only had it one week so hopefully it is durable and will continue to work as well as it has.

Nicely designed hand-held tire guage. Tactile feel with a blue light to help you in the dark. Makes measuring tire pressure fun and easy. Good value.

Good tool. Reads PSI to a decimal point. Reports consistent readings each time — assume it’s accurate, but did not check with second device.

I never wrote reviews but this was such a waste of money I had to. We bought this one because it’s supposed to be “better. ” They package it in plastic so you can’t feel the quality (hint, it’s cheap).

We kept in the glove box/tractor tool box. I can count on my fingers the number of times we used it, and it’s already broken. The valve is broken so the air just rushes out of the tire without getting a reading.

Easy to read. Good size to hold onto. Only just received it and used it today. The first time I used it, the reading held after I removed from the valve stem so I could take my time to read the pressure.

Now every time once you take the reading and remove off the valve to read it, the reading doesnt hold on the dial but slowly drops down towards zero within 5 secs. So just be aware that you require to hold the gauge onto the valve and read it before removing.

Other than that, good so far especially buying it on special.

I need to have an accurate tire pressure gauge for work. I buy these Slime ones and check them for accuracy on our test stand. Most are within 0. 5 psi, which is great. If I get one that is 1 psi or more off (rare), I give it to one of the young engineers at work who doesn’t carry one.

I do find that after a couple of years (or shorter if abused/dropped), they start to read low. They are cheap and easy to find, so I give my old ones to family or friends to keep in the glove box of their beaters.

As far as I can tell, crosschecking with another mechanical pencil gauge and the TPMS on the vehicle, this air pressure gauge is accurate or at lease within an acceptable margin of error. Like other gauges, both mechanical and digital, it takes an accurate push to get it on the valve stem without a leak.

If you happen to miss and hear the hiss then your reading may be a few tenths off readings without the hiss. The screen is easily readable, unless you tilt it at certain angles and then it can become completely unreadable.

But it saves the pressure reading so you simply hold the device at the angle you need to read it. I tested it in bright daylight and it’s very easy to read. Overall, for a fairly inexpensive digital pressure gauge (not the cheapest but certainly not the most expensive.

) it does it’s job well. Durability remains to be seen but it feels stout and comfortable in my hand. The flashlight portion always activates whether you need it or not so I’m curious about battery life but at least they are common AAA batteries for replacement.

This tire pressure gauge is simply the best. Because one, it is very accurate. To within. 1 PSI. I bought two and both give the exact same reading. And two, because it positively engages the tire valve pin without letting air out.

It’s also very easy to read. Others I have tried do not have adequate depth to zero in on the pin and seal tightly. And before you can get an accurate reading, all the air you put in has escaped. I have two sports cars that use very expensive tires, plus my daily driver SUV, and am very fussy about maintaining the correct tire pressure.

I can’t comment on the battery longevity or accuracy of the status on the display. But I liked them so much, I just ordered two more for my son and a friend.

I needed a replacement gauge because my new car came with nitrogen and, after a year, I’m going back to regular air so it will likely need to be checked more often. I’m a stickler for accuracy. At the last service, the dealer was told to make sure all tires were at 38psi.

Next day, this gauge measured every tire at 37. 5psi. (1) either the gauge is incredibly accurate and they weren’t filled to 38psi, (2) all four tires lost. 5psi in a few days, or (3) the gauge is still incredibly accurate but measure.

5psi below what they really are. I have my own compressor so I’ll try it out more over the next few weeks and see if the gauge measures a little low or not. Either way, it’s still accurate for all four tires and.

5psi won’t really make a difference.

I’m confused. Is my floor pump gauge off or is this? Do I need to buy a third device to confirm? Does it really matter? Anyway, I like this guy. No batteries, old-school feel and light enough to throw in the Fanny pack.

(And FYI, I actually trust this and not my cheap floor pump. But was quite surprised to find about a +8 psi discrepancy between what the floor pump said and what the dial on this device said. I promptly blamed my crappy riding history on too much air pressure.

I thought this would be useful for some of the higher pressure tires I have. And I will say that it seems very accurate. What I don’t care for is how difficult it is to read and hold down on the air valve at the same time.

When checking my motorcycle tires – which is tricky to get at the valves at the right angle – the gauge doesn’t swivel, and is always wanting to spin in a direction where I can’t see it. And as soon as you let off the valve, the numbers go away.

Would be nice if it retained the value for even a couple seconds.

Overall looks, well made, nice display, I like the green display. Only issue for me is the guage does not have any rotation. Kinda have to the hose to maneuver it too a desired position. On the bright side I think it’s meant to be that way to be air tight.

So far so good, it’s pretty accurate on the psi reading. Used a discount coupon so makes the purchase even better!.

I used to use a brand of tire gauge that was made in the U. S. A. , and they were outstanding in all ways. Customer service was 6 stars out of 5. If there was a problem, you sent in the gauge and they fixed / replaced, period.

Well, the pandemic hit them, they no longer fix or repair, and the new units are very poorly made. This item appears to be as well made as my long time favorites, and has the bleed feature I love. If this item fails to live up to expectations, I will report so in the future.

I have only used once so cannot rate durability but for use I loved it. I use it on UTV tires and the 16 PSI scale makes it easy to be precise in the pressure setting. I fill to over then use the vent to bring the pressure down to exactly what is desired.

I have two of these in 15psi and 30 psi variation that read the same when tested back to back which is more than I can say about some. The glow in the dark is extremely handy and works well. The bleed off works well and don’t have to play a balancing act for it to work.

I replaced a “house brand” gauge with the 30psi and after switching from a radial didn’t even look at another brand when I bought a 15.

Used this gauge to set the tire pressure in my drag slicks. Easy to read dial. Based on comparison to know accurate gauges this gauge is also accurate. Dial is easy to read, not sure if the glow in the dark dial face helps this or not.

Easy to handle, easy to connect to the stem and the bleed off button works well.

I needed a low pressure gauge. I had one in the past that worked fine until a friend used it on a high pressure tire. The new one is nice because of the rubber hose and the checking end is easier to use.

My only complaint is I bought 2 of them and the needle does not point to zero on either of them. Accurate low pressure is critical for the type of riding I do.

Works great. I just use a bicycle pump to pump up my Indian Scout Bobber tires, then use this pressure gauge to get an accurate reading and release extra air using the air release valve that?s built into it.

This gauge is so easy to use! The tubing means you don’t have to fit the gauge between the spokes and wrangle it into the right position so that you get an accurate reading. The gauge itself records the pressure reading that you just took until you press the reset button.

That feature means that you don’t have to watch the gauge while you’re concentrating on getting the fitting on the hose aligned with your valve stem. Yeah, it takes up a little bit more room than other gauges, but in my opinion, it’s well worth it.

I’ll definitely buy this product again.
