It does actually work! It definitely looks and kinda feels cheap but for like 40 bucks, it will do! I was a bit confused on installing it but after I figured out what I was really doing it was a piece of cake! I kinda was hoping it was going to be easy on easy off but I probably won’t be removing it off the car unless I absolutely have to.

As for putting my bike on there it’s actually pretty easy, the lock for the bottom bar of the bike is a bit tricky/ flimsy But it does work and keeps the bike in place. I have a 2019 27. 5 giant mountain bike so it barely fits on the rack and the front tire I can not lock down with the added straps.

The back one straps down but not the front. It was an easy fix to correct that, I just found a long strap that will work for now. So far it works well and keeps the bike mostly in place, I’m a bit paranoid about it since I have had a kayak fall from the top roof of the car when I was driving once.

The last thing I wanna say is that I’m afraid of going super fast with it but so far I have reached speeds up to 50-55mph and it doesn’t feel any different from just driving the car without the bike on top! Just did like 80-90 mph with the bike on since I went to a bike park at a ski resort.

So I say money well spent!!!.

My mission was to get 5 bikes on the rood of my van. I purchased this mount, and a double mount from another manufacturer. The double mount was more than twice the price of this mount (but far from the fancy name brand price tag), but it provided a more secure feeling attachment, so I purchased another one of that rather than two more of these to round out to system.

Since I have to haul 5 bikes, I will keep this one, and place it between the two doubles. This mounting system is not bad for the price, and it is fine for hauling your bike to the local rendezvous point for a group ride, but I am outfitting my rig for a multi-week family vacation with hundreds of miles of driving, so I wanted something a little sturdier, even if it meant spending a few more dollars.

The rack is simple and not of the greatest build quality but it held a bike on my car for 1000 miles so works great for me. Had 5 of these holding all different sizes and styles of bikes. All attached fine and pretty easy on and off.

Need to make some fine tune adjustments one where the tray is mounted to align with the different positions of the wheels but this is to be expected.

I first bought a bike rack without checking fit list turned out not fitting my car and had to return it,I ended up finding this Hollywood rack online for a better price than most places and better than most other 3 bike racks.

Although the company literature specified that this rack would fit on our Accord, the plastic clips are too thick to fit into the grooves between the trunk lid and the car body. We returned the rack.

A temporary addition to my Nissan Versa, the Yakima HangOut2 bike rack is simple to secure to the trunk, and easily removable. The 6 different hooks secure the rack & bikes from all direction to reduce shifting while in ride.

I bought this rack about a month ago, not only was the delivery person excited to drop this off at my door but the packaging from Moosejaw was awesome. It includes a lovely personalized sticker from who sent me my gift.

I got it out of the box and fit it on my car today. Figuring it out took me some time, but I haven’t attached a bike rack to my car in a while. Once I figured it out, it seemed well-designed, capable of securely shifting to fit different types of cars, and sturdy.

I would have felt totally comfortable trying my bike on it except the rack I received had a broken piece for holding the bike frame onto the rack, which meant my bike would have potentially pulled out of the strap and away from the rack.

I liked the rack enough to try exchanging it (haven’t gotten the new one yet) but I am little concerned that one connection point could be a weak spot in the design. Another design issue (or maybe particular to the rack I got) is that, to adjust the position of all the arms you have to loosen (and for two of them remove) a screw-in pin, which pin is necessary to then secure the arms in the position you want.

There’s a little nut inside the part that gets screwed into, and the nut fell out more than once, out of more than one slot/arm as I was assembling the rack. That seems like a bad oversight, with one little piece potentially going missing and damaging the integrity of the rest of the system.

If both of those issues are particular to the one broken rack I received, it’s a 5-star rack. If not, then it’s 3 stars. I’ll update when I get the new one.

Order and delivery within 3 days, nice! It would be helpful if the Saris website provide additional photos of the EX2 mounted on the variety of vehicles it is supposed to fit. One photo is worth 10 pages of written instruction.

After a some fidgeting, I managed to figure out the best way to mount the EX2 on my 2022 Subaru Forester. The Saris web site states that the Hatch Huggers are required for the Forester but I found that these Huggers are really not necessary.

Besides the Huggers are a pain to juggle while mounting the EX2 to an open door. Also, the $24. 99 cost for these Hatch Huggers is questionable. Overall, the EX2 is a quality product and has a durable feel.

The upper arm design to clear the door spoiler is great, well done. Mounting should become easier as the EX2 is used more often. Although I have not road tested the EX2 with bikes, I don’t anticipate that there will be any issues.

I bought this to transport my bike while moving house as the Halfords 2 bike carrier was apparently not suitable for my i20. It was very safe and held up for the seven-hour long drive on the motorway without any loosening in the straps.

Rear visibility, even in a small car like mine, is still pretty good, and my rear view camera wasn’t obstructed either. I used a bike lock to prevent anyone else from trying to take the bike while parked up in various places, which was also handy for helping to keep the front wheel still, as there is nothing on the carrier to prevent it from turning in the wind.

The bike rack seems very durable, and I expect it will last a long time. It also folds pretty flat and can fit in the recess under my adjustable boot floor, which is very convenient. At full price (£164.

99), it is a little expensive but I got it on sale for £98. 99 so it wasn’t as bad. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.

I have 2 e-bikes and this bike rack is so awesome easy to use and easy to load. I love the tilt so I can open the rear door to my Rav4 with ease. I loved it so much that I bought my daughter her own Hollywood rack for her e-bike!.

The Hollywood hike rack was easy to assemble, heavy duty, and the fit was nice and snug to the hitch. Perfect for my two E-Communter bikes.

I bought this rack for our beach cruisers. While it was not supposed to fit my BMW X5, it worked great and was very stable. I wrapped all metal clips with electrical tape to ensure they didn’t scratch paint (although probably not required).

A nice feature that my wife’s bike rack didn’t have were an additional set of side tie-down clips that really stabilized my bikes. I used a bungee cord to tie-down both bike tires and was good to go!.

I needed a way to transport my bike. I have a small car (small sedan) and I didn’t want to invest too much in a bike rack. This one was affordable, easy to install and holds the bike on place. I only take the bike around the city, and I haven’t tried this rack on uneven or unstable terrain (such as gravel, dirt, or muddy roads).

I bought this rack a few weeks ago and had high hopes for it because of the reviews. I bought it and come to find out, I can only carry one bike on it because it sits too close to my car to have a second bike.

Seriously, I’m going to use suction cups to hold my $6,000 bike on top of my car? No way! So, I didn’t – at first. Instead, I hauled around my 38 lb beach cruiser and hoped for the best. The rack held fast, every time.

It has four suction cups, each independently secured, so even if one were to lose suction, you’d still have plenty of hold. The only downside, once you get past the trust issue, is securing your bikes during stops along the road.

There’s really no way to do so. Perhaps a cable lock through the windows? In any case, be prepared to keep an eye on your bike when you stop.

So far so good. Using it on a Ford Focus St 2017. Initially, had it positioned before the sunroof, but due to noise and the rear wheels sitting on the mid roof (mid roof is weakest point of roof) I moved it back.

Since then it is more sturdy and extremely quieter. If you are looking for something that you can remove and add easily this is the way to go.

The Seasucker I received had a bad suction unit. I tried it on very clean glass and I couldn’t get it to hold suction. When I replaced it with the spare unit that came in the kit, this solved the problem.

I’ve contacted SeaSucker about getting another spare.

Very nice bike rack for 1,2 or 3 bikes. It is 21 lbs, which isn’t too bad and very sturdy. Following the guide I was able to install (1st time) in 30 min, but it should be much faster next time. Online Yakima has fit guide for many cars – my 2016 volt was listed with details and photos even.

I was impressed with the quality of the design. Will be testing with 1000mile trip next week and 2 bikes, but I don’t foresee any issues. It replaced a flimsier rack that was starting to worry me ;-).

The integrated lock is nice, but only locks the outmost bike, or just buy a cheap loop cable to use in conjunction to lock all the bikes. They didn’t have directions for included lock strap, and you need to install that first! Everything is adjustable and fit the Volt perfectly.

I’m sure I will use on other vehicles in the future. Good job Yakima!.

I bought this spring/summer this year, and I love how my bike is held solidly in place with no bouncing around. It takes 3 ratcheting clamps, simple to put on and take off. There is also a locking cable which is a little short, not impossible to secure, can’t seem to use ratcheting clamp an locking cable simultaneously.

At least I had trouble. They are at same area. The rack is a little heavy, but I like it just the same. It folds up and I keep it in back of vehicle.

I decided to purchase this rack because of the two security features – the ability to secure the rack to the car via a reinforced strap thru the trunk and a cable that extends from the end of the rack to lock the bike to the rack.

Despite doing all the necessary research to ensure that the rack was compatible with my car (a standard issue 2018 Subaru Crosstrek) before buying this, I had to return it because while the rack fit the car, the security features did not work.

The reinforced strap with a loop on one end and a plastic/foam barbell on the other, is supposed to secure the rack to the car by sliding between the two hinges on the hatchback. No matter how hard I (or multiple friendly REI staffers) tried, this strap does not fit through the gap between the vehicle and the hatchback.

That means that while the rack itself is compatible with my vehicle, the security strap is not. One security feature down. When fully extended the cable lock, which retracts into the right-hand tube where the bike rests, is so short it really can’t even wrap around the outermost bike frame to properly secure the bike.

Again the friendly REI staffers confirmed what I had tried dozens of times on my own – it just wont lock because its too short. Second security feature down. I did like the hub feature, and the fact that it store standing up on its own.

It seemed like the ZipStrip Cradle system was easy enough to use (although you can definitely lose ZipStrips as they are fully removable). This is a very solid bike rack that is in fact quite heavy. Trying to put this on a hatchback is difficult but doable as long as your strong and have long arms.

Just don’t expect the security features to work.

I bought this rack because our ancient 4 bike trunk rack made by an out of business company has walked off. We just bought 2 new Giant Fathom 2 mtbs and thought this rack would be a low cost temporary rack since we’ll be selling this car soon.

Rack is well built, easy to put together, and mount on the car, Toyota Highlander, but with both bikes mounted it’s a squeeze. The spacing between mounts is minimal with road bikes in mind. For MTBs the wide front shocks will rub against the other bike and rub off paint if you don’t cushion them.

I can mount the first bike through the main frame triangle, but there isn’t enough room to do that with the second bike so one mount is through back of the triangle by the seat and the front rests on top of the mount.

It fits securely enough. The anti-sway attachments fit on one bike but is worthless on the second. Also, the front wheel of the first bike on is only 9″ above the ground, so steep driveways or dips in the road are very worrisome.

Tried to solve this by mounting the first bike high like the second but it doesn’t allow mounting the second bike securely. So this will work for now. Wish they had a ‘Depends’ box on the would you recommend to a friend question.

Die Auflage an der Heckscheibe ist mit Gummi gepolstert und auch die Auflage auf der Stossstange (Fläche zum Kofferraum) ist gepolstert. Bei zwei Bikes lastet dort aber ein grosses Gewicht. Darum habe ich ein Sperrholzbrett mit Schaumstoffauflage gebastelt, damit die Auflagefläche grösser wird.

Wenn die Bänder gut angezogen werden, dann wackelt nichts. Auf der Autobahn konnte ich normal fahren. Einzig in engen Kurven oder wenn das Auto stark wackeln würde, bin ich langsamer gefahren.

Compact, solid and hold firmly the bike as intended. Do feel the clearance between bike for a two way carrier is tight even if you have spacers between provided. The cable torque that holds the carriage for some reason does not completely lock in place as recommended with a click sound.

Instructions as everyone mentioned is completely not helpful at all. You either go through YouTube for a guide and the added harness for the spoiler support is nowhere to figure how it is placed. Also, the packaging of the items with all the moving parts is not well thought off.

The boxes inside don’t really make any sense to secure the items inside. By the time you receive the big box its either broken or you can hear the parts banging to each other. Thule should have placed this on a rigid foam instead of boxes.

Or either put dampers of foam inside so that the parts will be secured in shipping and moving. They cut down on packaging cheaply and price products very expensively steep. Way too steep as if they hold the bars in terms of carriage in the market.

Hope this makes sense for the company to make better consumer experience not just for the money.

Lost of confidence After much back and forth decided to buy the outway platform. First time is a bit of a struggle to set-up but with the help of the support service manage to correctly installed the spoiler reinforcement through the hinge.

The platform is steady and holds good to your car, have a BMW X1 for reference. Yesterday we started a road trip from UK to Spain, after 500kms the bike came loose and drop from the rack of the highway!!!!! Miracle there was not an accident, was driving at 100kms/ per hour.

Front wheel is damage plus side of bike, luckily did not fall on derailleur side. The bike is just hold by the clamp, which does not go around the frame on my BMC Roadmachine. There is nothing else holding the bike on the rack, the straps for wheels are weak.

Would never thought a Thule product to be so poorly design. How the bike can come loose? The clamp had been turned to the 2 clicks, have also bought the carbon frame protector. This is dangerous and surely Thule will blame it on user.

Stay away from this product and will have to see about there customer service.

Overall I’m very pleased with this rack. It’s solid like it’s bolted to the car, and it doesn’t obstruct the rear cameras/backup sensor on my Subaru. Best bit is for city parking, the bike is high enough up that you don’t risk dinging bikes or other cars unless you’re parking in front of an F150 or something.

That said, the instructions are *exquisitely* bad, which I suspect is the root cause of some of the negative reviews. Once you get it figured out it’s pretty intuitive, but the instructions are an Ikea-style Rorschach test, my son learned some new swear words when we getting it on for the first time.

Swedes. There are plenty of 3rd party videos that do a much better job. One more caveat is fairly heavy, with a sedan you can get in and out of the truck, but it’s a 2 handed operation. On a powered lift gate it’s very straightforward though.

Great, convenient option if you don’t have a hitch.

I bought this to replace an old trunk mounted bike rack I’ve had for many years that was difficult to work with and somewhat flimsy. and was skeptical about whether or not I really needed to buy another bike rack at all.

I am very pleased with this Thule carrier because it is significantly more stable especially at high speeds while driving and is quick and easy to get the bikes and off quickly. The anti-sway mounts are very handy and keep the bikes firmly in place so that they do not make contact with each other or the car.

Also, fitting the Thule to the car is very easy with the cleverly designed cable lock system that also doubles as a security feature so that it won’t be stolen off your car. The only con is that it is a bit heavy and Bulky making it a little difficult to mount and unmount from the car and store.

But, it can be folded flat for storage. There is also a cool feature allowing you to set the angle of adjustment specifically to your car so that when unfolding it from storage, you can set it up quickly to the exact fitting for your car.

Overall, I’m very pleased with my purchase and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a trunk mounted 3-bike carrier system that is sturdy and well made.

I bought the Thule 2 bike carrier to fit a Nissan Maxima and to lug around a heavy full suspension tour/bike camping rig. She weighs in at 50 lbs. when fully stripped down and I would feel very comfortable to hang another bike beside her.

Easy to set up and take down. Very sturdy and well designed. The locks that provide security are mounted in plastic and could be bypassed with a simple screwdriver. They will do nothing but keep the honest honest.

A bit heavy, a bit expensive, and I expect it to last for years.

The Thule Raceway 2 boot bike carrier is the best product you can buy. It is expensive, but you have to pay for quality. This bike carriere is very reliable, quick to install and very stable on the rear of my hatchback car.

It also fits sedans. Before you buy, you must check car compatibility first.

4 + years ago we bought two Talon bike racks and we’ve used them a lot, and loved them. One trip even took them through rain, sleet, snow and into 100 degree desserts- all within 2 weeks. The bikes were solid on our car the whole time.

We recently watched the video on how to clean them since a few of the pumps needed some love. Now they work great again. We ordered a replacement pump but after cleaning and lubing, we didn’t need it.

Great quality, but if you do need to replace a piece it’s easy. What more can you ask for? The best part- we bought these to help with our car light lifestyle and they have made all the difference. Living in a big city, we rarely need a car, so we just rent one when we need it.

But we couldn’t always take our bikes, or we had to rent really big suvs, or bring folding bikes. Yes, we are avid cyclists and love to travel with our bikes. These allowed us to rent smaller cars and take any of our bikes anywhere.

They go on any car. We have different mount types that my husband easily swaps out for different bikes. The only downside- that darn pedal when you forget to bungee it up and it hits the roof. Just be aware.

I purchased the talon to take my mountain bike on my summer cross country road trip, I didn’t want a rack on my car. I drive a heavily modified Audi and a rack just takes away from the look. I’ll have to admit, the idea of suction cups kinda freaked me out but one for trying things out.

I started off in Sacramento and drove to Palm Springs, yes I stopped frequently to check on the cups…I initially had the main 3 cup piece on the metal part of the roof and the rear tire on the rear windshield.

I could hear the flexing and it freaked me out. Leaving Palm Springs I decided to put the main cups on the sunroof, this was a huge improvement, no noise, no flexing. These cups are made for glass…something I should have done in the 1st place.

I was off to El Paso then Dallas. From there to Kansas and then a family reunion in Duluth. After Duluth I headed to my hometown of Chicago! Then to Colorado Springs…where I really wanted to bike the garden of the gods…and it was amazing, it was my 1st time there.

Getting through Wyoming was a trip, it’s so windy out there and I watched the canoes on the SUV in front of rip off their rack and crash to the road…but the talon held up through the wind…the rain…and turbulence from the semi trucks driving at 80mph.

My final stop was in eastern Nevada and then back to Sacramento. The talon did it’s job. It was so easy to get the bike on and off the roof, lock the talon in the trunk, and do my thing. Of course I would stop at a few more rest stops than usual just to check the suction and from time to time I’d have to pump them, but it was rare and they were never in danger of coming off.

What started as me being worried the bike would fly off and slam into a car behind me…ended up being an amazing purchase that I absolutely trust.

“What’s that banging noise”? said my wife. This was the first time |I had carried my road ‘bike on my Seasucker Talon roof rack. Could it be a loose exhaust pipe or something in the boot? I stopped twice and then I realised the knocking was due to the roof flexing.

Worry over! The adhesion of the suction rubber pads is sufficient to give total confidence and it will allow ‘bikes to be carried easily on hybrid cars for which rear mounted towbars are not available.

Although initially a little sceptical and, certainly rather anxious, I can fully recommend this product. No need for permanently attached roof rack and due to its size, easily stored out of sight in boot.

Just buy one!.

It works well, but really only for three adult bikes, or two adult and two small children’s bikes. It is easy to fit, once you have done it once, and feels robust and safe. It is well made and good value compared to many others – I would recommend it.

Mounts to my 2011 Honda Accord and 2007 Honda Fit with a few changes.

Note, if you have 4 adult bikes, it will be challenging to get all 4 on the rack.

My favorite thing is that the vertical bar easily pivots away from the vehicle so I can open my GMC Canyon pickup tailgate and canopy door with the bike still attached. It’s also lightweight enough for one person to handle.

I had no problem with attaching the bike to the straps; I think that the little cradles are designed to rotate on the bar to accommodate a variety of bike designs. The rack was easy to install with the exception of having to screw in the hitch pin.

That was kind of a pain as you need to lay on the ground and use a wrench, but I think that makes it a bit more secure as a thief would have to have the correct sized wrench and some time to steal it.

But, the hitch was loose even with screwing in the pin tightly on my 2″ receiver (that’s why only 4 stars), which my brother solved for me. I had a locking hitch pin that I wanted to use which doesn’t fit this adapter.

So, my brother drilled out the hole to fit my locking hitch pin & I got rid of the screw-in pin. But the rack was still loose and swayed a little, so now he’s going to add some shims to tighten up the fit.

You could use straps from the rack to your bumper to keep the sway to a minimum, but shimming it up hopefully will solve that problem. All in all, this is a great deal at $39 and I would recommend this bike rack especially for pick up trucks.

We had to haul a granddaughter’s bicycle half way across the county with family travelling that direction but didn’t want to send our nice bike carrier and then wonder when we’d ever get it back. I shopped Amazon, ebay, and the internet and found this one at Harbor Freight for $20 less than everywhere else.

I figured that for the price it might be on the lower quality side. but all it had to do was make one trip, so I bought it. After I assembled it, it was clearly not an el-cheapo model. Granted it’s not your super fancy, pay a fortune, bike carrier, but it was solid and even had a few features I didn’t expect.

Since our daughter was driving a Toyota Sienna I worried that once mounted in the receiver they wouldn’t be able to access the back of the van. Not so. The carrier actually folded down with the bike on it so the back of the vehicle (pickup, sedan, SUV, etc.

) could be accessed. In addition, it had a separator between the two rubber bike rests/straps so two bikes don’t slowly slide together and scratch each other up. Well worth the purchase.

I purchased the Glide EX 4 the summer of 2019 and used it a lot as the boys ride to school and I’d have to pick them up for appointments so I put the bikes on the rack. We also used it to go to many parks to ride the trails.

Then I was rear-ended doing a retirement teacher parade during COVID in June 2020 and found out there was a waitlist as everything was sold out. I opted for the Glide EX 5-bike rack this time as we take my son’s friends along to some of the parks.

This is American made and solidly built. I love that I can access my SUV without having to remove all the bikes from the rack. It is solid and doesn’t shake or vibrate. It is easy to install. I did have my son hold it while I used the socket wrench.

Thank you for making such a quality product and for creating a waiting list. Would you consider making a bike rack cover (similar to the jeep wrangler tire covers???? – just a thought – if I could make them I would, I got rid of my sewing machine a decade ago).

Just installed it today for the first time and we got all 5 bikes loaded on, with a little finessing. My only complaint is that we have 2 adult XS sized bikes, and the frames aren’t large enough to fit the rack’s standard clips, so we had to buy the Saris bike beams (each $50) to load them, an upcharge I wasn’t anticipating after spending this much on the rack already.

Also, my kids’ bikes are too small to use the bike beams, so we had a tough time getting their bikes in using the clips since the bikes are smaller than standard. But – we got all 5 loaded and drove the car a bit to test it out; went up to 65mph and they all stayed on board.

Hoping it works when we vacation! Glide feature is awesome and install/setup was a breeze.

We were so pleased to be able to find this in stock. Finding a rack to accommodate 5 bikes is not easy. We arepleased with the rack. Installation the first time was a learnig curve for us, but the second time was smoother.

We really like the ability to adjust the rack position to allow the minivan trunk to open. However, as a family with younger kids and women, we needed to get adapters for all bikes except mine (adult male bike).

That was a considerable additional expense.
