20 Best Work Boots For Narrow Feet (2023 Updated)

It’s a bit early on to give a review for these boots, but I’ll share what I know so far. They are very comfortable in some ways, and extremely uncomfortable in others. There is wonderful support and cushion in the sole.

The toe is generous (but almost resembles clown shoes toes). They are true to size – I did not find them to run narrow contrary to other reviews. The place where the tongue of the shoe separates from the body of the show is *extremely painful* to the top/sides of my feet.

It seems like there is too much extra material to give flexibility to the tongue, and it folds over into a very, rock hard knot of material. I do not like it. Also, the ankle opening for these boots is massive.

I can’t even get it close to closing around my ankles. So if you’re cleaning out a horse stall with lots of shavings, you will fill your boots with them. Unfortunately, the only way to really feel shoes is to wear them.

So my boots are no longer in new condition, otherwise I would definitely return them. Buyer beware. *I did not rate durability because I have no idea how these boots will wear. I’ve only had them for about a week.

Bought these for my wife cause lugz are the only boots that I wear and she wanted a pair. They are very comfortable and come with the memory foam inside for that extra comfort. We both love this color of the boot and its like a sweade type finish.

These are her first pair of lugz and she’s very happy with them and will be for a long time. My past experience with lugz these boots last forever. They’ve lasted longer than any other brand of shoe/boot that either her or I have worn.

Acc they aren’t that expensive either compared to how long they last. For around $70 for a pair that’s cheap when they last for years And years. Would definitely recommend these to any woman and reccomend lugz period to anyone looking for a comfortable boot that’ll last year’s.

Knew which shoes I wanted to purchase, style. color. and size. Delivery was free, and I didn’t need it to be Amazon-quick. that’s ridiculous. Overall, very happy with the new shoes purchase. Was able to get shoes that were not at any of the following: Dick’s Sporting Goods, Working Gear, Kohl’s, Target, Men’s Warehouse, and a couple other places.

I should have let my fingers do the walking and found the Shoebacca option sooner, woulda saved time and effort. I replaced both Lugz simultaneously. The lugz Drifter Lo LX dark tan pair I previously had lasted me 8 years.

The golden wheat pair lasted me even more. The dark tan will last a bit longer and will take a tinted cream conditioner, but the golden wheat will take only a waterproofed. If you take care of them, these will last.

The heal will eventually break down and the shoe will lose its rigidity, but considering this price point, it will owe you nothing at that point.

I’m going to use these Lugz for hiking and outdoors in my yard and maybe because they just look cool and I like them! There is plenty of room in the toe area width. I wear a thick sock and add my arch supports as well.

It’s not a heavy boot. I usually wear a size 8 but I had to exchange for a half size smaller (7 1/2) and I still have plenty of room at the end for my toes. Lugz is a great brand and well made shoe and made with leather ! I got a great price on them and very pleased.

I love the Timberland brand. You can always guarantee you’ll find fashionable, functional footwear that’ll last a future. Whenever I’m in the market for a stylish, quality pair of boots Timberland is usually at the top of my list.

I have Timberland boots for 10+ years that are still in great condition. When I needed a quick pair of steel-toe boots for work I immediately checked Timberland. These work boots are comfortable, despite being steel-toe and I wear them all day.

They have a lot of room so feet can breathe. If you are between sizes, always go a 1/2 size up. They look like the standard boots and had it not been for the label, you wouldn’t even know they were safety shoes.

I always get compliments on my boots when I wear them and often get asked if I’m from upstate. Overall, highly recommended. If you’re in the market for safety boots, consider Timberland.

Very comfortable right out of the box. I normally wear a size 8. 5 and after reading recommendations,ordered the 9. A little big but that was expected and I figured I’d just wear thicker socks to help keep my feet warm… not necessary… toes are toasty warm while working outside and not over heating when I’m inside.

Good support which I need due to plantar fasciitis. Only reason for 4 star rating… odd wrinkle in right tongue that I can’t seem to straighten out. Quality boot that I will buy again. Love the brown color.

I really like my boots and the fit is fine. The only thing I don’t like is that the right boot, although laced up tight, has bulging sides. I can’t tighten them up anymore and it’s still loose. The left boot isn’t like that.

It’s weird because the right boot has more of a gap at the laces looking like it isn’t as tight as the left, but it’ll be in fact tighter. I think it was too big of a cut for the side peices. Emailed Thorogood about it thinking possibly another defective pair (the first pair was definitely defective with the leather at the sole bunching up where you foot would bend) I sent those back.

I recon I would expect a little better quality on these boots, but not unhappy with them. They are comfortable. Much more than my Redwings. I think Redwing is a better quality boot once you break them in.

Thorogood is ready to wear right out of the box. All in all, I might buy another pair of Thorogoods, but might try another brand for comparison. Buying boots is a big deal for me. I think others would agree.

Always purchased redwing boots my whole life. When I could not order them online and the closet store is 50 miles away and they would not answer phone so I left message and they never called back I started looking for other brands then my son in law told me about Thorogood boots I checked them out and ordered a pair.

Best choice I made. You have gained another customer for life. They are the most comfortable boots, fit is perfect and construction seems very well. You gained a customer for life. And I will tell everyone.

Have been delayed in writing this review but so happy I received an email to remind me. Well let me start by saying, these boots Saved my Son’s Foot! My son is a Local 5 Iron worker, and since his Apprenticeship started, he has worn these boots.

Well worth the money! My son will be finishing his Apprenticeship June 2022, with his foot intact Thanks to these boots. He recently (June 9)had the unfortunate accident, while moving a pallet Jack onto a hoist.

The pallet Jack slipped off the 2×4 needed to load the Jack onto the hoist. (Safety Flaw-now noted), and it slipped onto his foot. While this accident could have had a worse outcome this Steele toe boots Saved His FOOT! Since this accident, the Safety Inspector asked if he could have the damaged boot as a Safety Demonstration, as to why Steele toed boots are required.

For the price I dont think you can beat them. Are they red wings no, are they nicks or whites no. But there under 200$ and have lasted me a year and still going. I’m an industrial/commercial electritian and do construction on the side so yes these boots take a beating.

I honestly thing for 150$ your not going to find a better boot that’s comfy and durable. Listen I own red wings, timberland, other Irish setter wing shooters , Thursday boots, and many others and this is by far my favorite work work boot.

Everyone should own a pair of these. They do run big, I usually wear a 9-9. 5 in gym shoes these I wear an 8. 5EE so I’d recommend going a half size down from your gym shoe size same goes for red wings (just an FYI) I’ll be getting another pair once these are done lol they may even be re soleable if so ill probably go ahead and do that so there’s no break in period and there already formed to my foot.

You will not be disappointed with these boot I can almost guarantee you that, you will need to break these in but it’s a pretty short break in period when compared to other high end boots depending on what you do and how often you wear them id say anywhere from 1-3 weeks.

I went into my local Red Wing store looking to buy Red Wings this was just a little over a 6 months ago during Covid. My size was not available anywhere and was on back order, so I opt for these. I had to buy an after market insole that made them much more comfortable.

They have held up very well, considering I walk large construction sites daily. My only issue or complaint is I wear a wide work boot. I was told by the Red Wing salesman when he sized me up that these would stretch and become much wider and not to get the wide version.

Well that was a mistake for me, these boots do not stretch out and after 8+ hours, I cant wait to get them off. So if that’s a good thing for you not stretching out. buy these boots.

Haven’t worn but out of the store to the house. In store my feet were already on shift for 6hrs. so feet were boot ready. Anyhow, could not believe how cushiony these boots felt. I’m excited to wear them for my new job starting June 1, 2022.

I’ll update y’all as soon as they get worked in. Also, I’m lov’n the shoe strings for boot life and 6 months workmanship defect warranty, as well as the resole option. At this point really, I’m thinking by the feel when trying these boots on they’re by far the comfortablest boot I’ve ever worn.

I bought these boots because they had great reviews by others, and the item description mentioned it had slip resistant soles. However, the soles were more slippery on ice than most other brand winter boots I have seen before.

The winter temperature drops below -22F where I live. In that situation, the soles become frozen, very hard, and shrink. The walking becomes very uncomfortable because the frozen soles make noise like going on high heels.

If the temperature is not extremely cold, these boots are comfortable enough. I don’t know what the designers had in mind. But I have to warn you they can be slippery on ice and pressed snow.

I’ve only been wearing these for a week but so far, so good. They are way more comfortable than other work boots I’ve tried (and didn’t buy) and yet they are stoutly built. I can finally stop trashing my hiking boots on construction sites.

The fit is a bit large for me; maybe I could have gone 1/2 size smaller, but on the other hand I intend to wear heavier (XC skiing) socks in the winter, so they are probably perfect for that. I probably can’t expect work boots to fit like hiking boots anyway.

Traction is good on wet surfaces – real important. Easy to put on and take off if you use the open instead of closed eyelets for lacing at the top (nice option).

I just bought this and I would like to ask the question, have you changed the insole? I bought this same shoe, well the light brown one, but anyways about 2 years ago and it was the best boot I’ve ever bought because the insole was amazing.

My feet never hurt, but this time around it feel less cushioned. It feels like very thin memory foam. Did ya’ll forget to put the right insole in this one or what? I gave it a 2 because these are nice-looking boots.

I’m more concerned about the insole. I will be swapping out the insoles. I paid a lot of money for this shoe and it should be worth it, but not this time around.

I bought these boots on the recommendation of a friend, that works in landscaping like I do. I had bought 3 other pairs of boots(different brands) that were supposed to be waterproof, and all 3 pairs were returned within a week of purchase.

It is horrible to walk around with wet feet all day, but these keep my feet bone dry. I have not owned them long enough to speak on how durable they are.

My second pair of these boots. First pair served me well so I thought I would try another pair. They could use a bit more tread on the bottom. I use them for hiking and hunting. Why you ask when there are shoes made especially for that.

Cause with these my feet don’t hurt. Nuff said. I’ll be buying more in the future.

These are great boots. Comfortable and light weight. They look just like the picture. No complaints. I applied leather preservative on them and they are not leaking in the snow.

The top on my foot was bruised and cut because of the stitching at the bottom of the tongue. The toe box was way too narrow and there wasn’t enough space for my toes to move around because of the low profile construction of the steel toed feature.

The $25 Walmart steel toed boots are seemingly made with the same quality, just constructed better and I’ve been wearing them on and off for about 4. 5 years now. I couldn’t even last 2 weeks with those overpriced torture mechanisms Docs are passing off as boots.

Safe to say I won’t be spending my money with this company anymore. I’ve returned way too many boots than I’ve kept with this brand. Quality doesn’t seem to mean much for Dr. Martens anymore, notoriety and selling an image is all that seemingly matters.

Anyway, that’s my opinion and experience, toodles.

I normally wear a men’s 7. 5 and ordered a size 8 and they were way too small. My feet are about 9. 75 inches in length, so according to the size chart I should have ordered a 6. That didn’t seem right so I went with the 8.

They were still too small. I could wear them but they were definitely too short for my feet. The quality of the leather and laces was very high, and if you’re going for a sleek, clean look for your work boots, these are a good choice.

The insoles that came with the boots were very poor quality and didn’t offer much support, but it’s my understanding that most people replace these anyway with other doc martens insoles, so it’s understandable why they’re lower quality.

Overall, they would likely have been 4 star if they had fit.

I work in a factory making potato chips and routinely work in a room with lots of oil so the floor is extremely slippery. These shoes never slip! The only truly non-slip shoe I have been able to find in the last three years.

They are also very comfortable with a padded sole. I work 12 hour shifts and my feet hardly hurt by the end. Didn’t take much to break them in either, just walking around for a few days in them. They can also be used for fashion, just like regular doc martens.

I wear them at my job and out in society. Overall great shoes.

I got these 5 years ago and they have been my favorite footwear ever since. I’ve worn them to work on average 8 or 9 out of every 10 days. Very comfortable, not heavy, and they look good with all but the most formal clothing.

At some point the top layer of the foot bed started coming off. It annoyed me for a few days until I peeled it off entirely. Problem solved. The laces wore out and needed replacing. Simple fix. After the last snow, I was shoveling slush and discovered that one boot is no longer waterproof.

I will retire these from winter wear, but keep them for other purposes. Overall, this is a great boot with some minor quirks. I do recommend them, but I also hope the manufacturer can eliminate such quirks in the future.

The left heel clicks/squeaks with every step; I am assuming it is slightly oversized. The right shoe developed a crease over the top of the foot. I am slightly disappointed in this shoe as I ordered it for hiking and for work.

These work boots seems durable for hiking and have good tread contact on ground surface for outside activties. Several concern issues are Slip resistance from oily surfaces on polished floors.

I provide service in the trucking industry and when home (Philadelphia) I walk and use public transportation. This tactical Strongfield Chelsea boot seems like it can be a utility for anyone. Easy and efficient to slide the boots on the feet.

The traction grips beyond well on various surfaces and terrains providing addition confidence when working and walking. Weather proof boots, I embrace puddles, mud, wet grass rain basically anything because so far these boots has kept my feet dry through it all and the boots are easy to wipe and clean.

When driving the truck the insoles muffle/mitigate vibrations and my feet stay comfortable throughout the long days. (I ordered true to size and placed an additional insole because I prefer the boot with a snug fit).

The Exo-Skeleton Tough frame is sturdy and seems to be a excellent alternative to a composite toe if a person is seeking a soft toe boot with solid foot protection. Lastly the design of the boot is masculine, sturdy, modern, sleek and stylish (at least in my opinion).

Merrell team could an alternative brown or other colors be produced in this magnificent Strongfield Chelsea boot? Because I would pleasantly purchase!.

This is hands down one of the best boot purchases I have made. They are comfortable and fit extremely well. A hefty price but worth it in the end. I will buy another pair once I stack more nickels. LoL!.

I’m a chef and wore a pair of jungle mocs years ago. Wanted a change to boots and came across these. They’re Comfortable and have a Short break in period. They seem very durable and will hopefully last me a couple years or more.

I picked these boots up a month ago and for the money I’m not impressed. I wear these everyday and they were comfortable. for the first month. I found that the dye in the leather wore out within the first two weeks.

I ended up re-dying the leather myself. At three weeks in the lining of one of the boots separated making it extremely difficult to take the boot off and very uncomfortable to wear. The supports in the heel don’t stay in place and the liner bunches up as I walk.

For the price I would have expected these to last at least a year. I would not recommend purchasing these particular boots.

These are the second pair of Justin boots I have bought in the past 2 months. I purchased a pair from the store and realized they were leaking (I work in the sewers. WET conditions!). I took them back and exchanged them for a pair of these, since they’re advertised as waterproof.

Now, these boots are very comfortable to me, but working out in the snow/rain during the afternoon I realized that they have a leak on the left boot at the steel-toe where your big toe is (cold water hitting your warm feet is very noticeable).

The Justin boots I had prior to this pair leaked right at the edge of the steel-toe along the base of the sole. I plan on attempting to seal this leak up, but if I can’t I’m taking them back and exchanging them for a pair of Rocky’s.

Glad I ordered a half size smaller or these boots would have been too large. In fact, I may have been able to go a full size smaller, but didn’t want to risk them being too tight. Other than that, they are great.

Please also consider making boots like these that are completely black. Thanks!.

I have been looking for a true wide width for women and they just don’t seem to get the concept of what ‘wide’ actually is. They advertise the width as “W” but they are closer to a medium. As a result of all that I have bought and returned numerous boots.

The manufacturers of women’s boots need to realize that women also work in fields that require a good hard working boot, one that doesn’t compromise on comfort and fit, and then they need to step up and make some much needed design changes! I know these are labeled ‘men’s’ shoes but being fed up with the options for available for women I decided to try these out.

After reading the male reviews on this boot I just had to give them a go and I AM SO GLAD I DID!!! The fit was perfect with plenty of room to wiggle your toes around and even enough room to add gel insoles if you choose to, although they are quite comfy without them! I am on my feet all day, walking/working on concrete, gravel, mud and dirt and any mixture in between and these boots are great! I also love the composite toe because they are so light weight you don’t even know you are wearing a safety toed boot.

I just can’t say enough good things about them and I know that I have found my ‘forever’ boot :)). I wear a woman’s size 6 1/2 W and the men’s size 5 was perfect! Thank you Rockport for making a small enough man’s size to accommodate a small woman’s foot!.

I purchased these for my boyfriend who is on his feet all day. He says they’re comfy and well made. He wore them once with low ankle socks, and the lining inside rubbed the wrong way and hurt, so he only wears tall socks with them now and all is good.

His very first comment when he opened the box was they they looked designed for comfort–far better than the cheaper pair he purchased for himself elsewhere. The steel toe in this pair leaves appropriate room around his toes and does not dig in.

I was very hesitant to order these shoes online as I have a very hard time finding safety shoes that are wide enough for my feet. After reading all of the previous reviews on these I took a chance & went ahead & ordered them.

I am very happy with my decision. These shoes are very comfortable! Plenty of room & no rubbing in the toe area. As long as they hold up to the wear and tear at work I will definitely buy again.

Normal boots, they work. They are laced all the way to the top instead of having the lace hooks.

The Good = they look nice, they are comfortable, break-in period is excellent in my opinion as it is almost nonexistent, price is reasonable, the materials seem decent, the customer service is ok. The Bad = claim to be as high quality as the $200+ boots (not in my opinion), came with defects (stitched in a bind between the sole and boot creating a gap for water to get in and grow with use obviously).

They offered to replaced them, so I’ll give them credit, however they did not offer to replace the leather conditioner I used on them. My options were: A. )they expected me to purchase a new pair and not get refunded until they received the ones that previously arrived damaged, or B.

) send them back, wait for exchange approval, then send me the replacement boots. (They said this is because others have received the replacement boots and not returned their original pair, so I get it, but it still stinks for people who are honest) These boots fit different than most and it is a little odd getting used to it, its seems like they are roomier up and down but not so much side to side.

Once you get used to it, its not bad necessarily. If you order the unlined and wear white socks, they will stain them for a while. Overall = If you want a decent boot for a decent price, grab a pair.

If you want a high quality boot with no defects, buy a well-known American made brand and pay $50 to $150 more. These boots are not a bad value at all, but the fact that I as the consumer have to suffer due to a factory defect and quality control, I won’t return as a customer.

They could have won me for life had they made the return process hassle free, but lost me due to that. There are definitely other brands at and around this price point with similar quality. You won’t find a boot at this price point that outshines them much, but that is purely opinion and experience based per the individual.

I appreciate the ideology, but the advertising oversold the quality a tad.

There’s nothing really “wrong” with these boots. But after all of the 5 star reviews I read through I was expecting these to be some sort of next level in comfort or long lasting wear. Took about a half a day to break in and walking/standing comfort is good as of now (1 week in).

The laces are fairly lame. They loosen up throughout the day and certainly are far from heavy duty. I find myself having to tie them 3-4 times a day or walking around with floppy boots. If you wear low rise socks, several hot spots along the top edge of the boots on the inside.

I swapped to longer socks to have some more comfort but in the summer I like to be as cool as possible with shorter socks. These may wear down over time and become more comfortable but after two days of low socks it was wearing my leg raw.

Speaking of hot, these will be good in cooler weather but super hot in the summer time. I wish they made an unlined version, with safety toe. Seems like a lot of other reviewers had similar feelings.

The tread doesn’t really hold dirt, which I think may be the best feature of these. I think it’s partially because the tread depth is so little, 1/16″ to 3/32″. Not sure how these will work once winter or muddier conditions arrive.

A few people have mentioned they look good, which I will agree with. Overall they so far are a decent boot, but I’m no ‘wow’ factor in my opinion. If they hold up well, I may buy another pair or try something else.

For the last 10 years I have worn the same boots. Last fall I ordered a new pair of the same brand and style and to my surprise the quality was no longer there. Not sure if it is due to the current way of the world but no excuses, I needed to find another to replace the old.

My IG was flooded with Brunt ads. I was annoyed at first but then I started to pay attention to them. I noticed was they were about and figured I would give them a try. First thought upon receiving them, they looked very nice and well constructed.

First wear I did not like them. I have had to tell myself several times that I have to give them a chance. (I am a boot snob and I don’t like change) Issues. 1. The tongue of the boot is shorter than the ankle of the boot.

SO when you tie the boot tight the laces are now cutting into your ankle just above the tongue. This is a big issue. 2. Why is the upper tongue and upper ankle insulated (or padded) and waterproof? The tongue and boot split half way down your foot so it is pointless and makes it annoyingly uncomfortable.

The ankle of your boot should be flexible yet supportive. Like I stated above I wear my boots tight, with this upper part of the boot built like this it is dang near impossible to get them tight. I now have to re-tie my boot several times a day to keep them tight.

3. The laces. oh boy the laces. The very first time I laced up these boots I dang near punched myself in the face when the lace broke! THE VERY FIRST TIME!!! I removed the laces and put the laces from the old boot company in them.

Pros. 1. The foot bed is way comfortable! 2. The sole construction and traction is great. 3. They are fantastic looking boots! I went from Timberland PRO® Barstow 6″ alloy toe which used to feel like clouds on my feet to now like 2X4 strapped to my foot.

I would order a pair every other year so each pair would last me 2 years. I didn’t 4 months of comfort this time, the boots still look new, matter of fact the last 2 pair still look new but the foot bed was so uncomfortable I could stand it any longer.

The Brunt Marin Comp Toe seems so far to be a good boot. As of right now I do not see myself buying another pair unless the construction changes in the ankle area. It just feels super restricted and actually hurts when trying to bend down to work.

Shipping was crazy fast! I hope to see some changes or maybe another style with a slimmer ankle in the future. Here’s to the future!! @clarkboyzdad.

Solid boot. I work in natural gas and am outdoors in the Pacific Northwest. Snow in Idaho and rain over in Oregon and Washington They’ve been great for driving, job site and walking around, and the waterproofing is top notch.

I’ve ridden the Harley a couple times with them in and the met guard is no good for that, protects your foot too much to have good connection with the shifter, but for work, these are great.

So good. so far! True test will be in the winter. They’re very comfortable indeed. This is my 1st pair of Carhartt boots, I’ve heard good things about the quality being better than Keen & Merrill to which I’ve bought before & haven’t lasted long.

Fingers crossed & expectations are high these will last longer than the others. If so I’ll be buying Carhartt boots from here on out!.

So far so good , wide eneough – my toes aren’t cramped., cushion is adequate. I’d purchase again.

These are excellent work boots. They are very comfortable from the start. They are also durable and stands up to hard use. Never had a leak even when standing in hot water with the soles submurged. Traction is excellent and on concrete and steel decking.

The only issue I had was that the rivets were not flush on the inside of the boot and would irritate the top of my feet. I used a hammer and a block and pounded the rivets flush. The boots feel great now.

This happened on two pairs I have had.

I came here to buy wide boots because they are too difficult to find elsewhere. I normally wear 4E shoes, but this 3E is fine for me. SO MANY shoes make my feet feel like they are cramped, so having something really wide was extremely important to me.

It’s not tight around the outer edge of the foot, the pinky toe, or the top of the foot like so many other shoes are. I would recommend tying the laces tight on the bottom part, but somewhat loose for the top three notches.

Fits well that way. Quality is fine, no defects, as pictured, etc. I should also mention that it comes with soles that have that really nice pad for the heel of the foot. I’ve seen them in certain Newbalance brands.

It’s not gel or memory foam. It compresses and bounces back no matter the usage. It’s the best insole I’ve had for my regular shoes and was delighted to see it in this boot.

I have been wearing boots for 35 yrs. I began shopping at STS and have found fantastic buys. Shoes fit perfectly. I have EEEE width feet And STS carries that width. I have a favorite brand boot that I wear and STS is spot in with that brand as well.
