Best Women’S Walking Shoes For Bunions (2023 Updated)

The black is my second pair of this style shoe and just as supportive as the first pair. I don’t wear the black pair as often as the grey pair with lime laces. The grey pair is everyday shoe and so they get more exposure going to the store, yard stuff, walking the dog etc.

The black pair I am using as a change of pace to go to dinner / look nicer. With that said the grey pair is, after a few months, just as supportive today as the first day I tried then on and the black pair is a super fit as well.

Usually when I have gotten a pair of tennis shoes (regulars from shoe store, online etc) they tend to not be supportive of my feet after about 3 mos. It is as though the shoe starts breaking down and the support is gone even though the shoe itself looks fine.

Both pair of these shoes are super supportive of me as I wear them all day long. I have bunions but only one foot was starting to bug me a bit. I was in a bad wreck with injuries a few years ago and ever since I must wear very foot supportive shoes mostly hiking boots which give me great stability and excellent support for my low beck and knees etc.

Walking on concrete was a nightmare for several years demanding excellent foot support. After all these many years of wearing hikers I though I would give OrthoFeet a try as I ran across them on line.

60 day guarantee I decided I had nothing to lose so I ordered the grey pair to see if this shoe was really all they claimed. I am so pleased with the shoes that honestly I can’t wait to put them on every day.

The other thing is the ortho inserts. With each pair of shoe I also purchased another ortho insert so I could put it into my other hikers. The ortho insert makes such a big difference for me. I also like the little heel support in there because I have an extremely narrow heel and a very wide toe.

At this point I am so very happy with these shoes especially for the hot summer time I highly recommend these. My feet have felt Incredibly good with these tennis like shoes and the shoes breath. My feet don’t get to hot.

I don’t think you could go wrong with them. I highly recommend these shoes – Coral Stretch Knit Black / Grey with Lime laces.

I honestly love these shoes. I had Puma’s and Under Armour shoes prior to these, and I felt like the way the shoe was shaped, that my foot was always pointing at an angle in the shoes. I found these online and purchased them on a whim because I thought nothing could be worse than what I was already dealing with in regards to my tennis shoes/sneakers.

I’m on my feet all day, everyday because I work in manufacturing engineering and these sneakers ROCK. All the extras they give you are just amazing. You get 2 different thicknesses of spacers in case you have feet that aren’t as thick height wise, they give you added arch support (which I use and LOVE) and they give you 2 different types of laces.

My only issues with these shoes is that I am using the laces that you push the plastic piece down on to tighten, and the plastic cap on the end of the laces that hold both ends together already came off one shoe and I can’t get it back on.

But this does not at all affect the wearability of the shoe or its functionality. They are still awesome, very comfortable and extremely sturdy. This is the first set of sneakers I have had in a really long time that actually keep my feet warm and dry.

They are not paper thin like most sneakers these days. These are STURDY shoes, but still flexible so you don’t feel like you are in boots or something. If you are debating these shoes, get a pair. You won’t be disappointed.

I have wide feet and the normal width fits great. I usually have to buy men sneakers because of this but these shoes are fabulous.

I know this is going to seem silly and I would have NEVER believed this if I wouldn’t have experienced it myself. But these shoes straight up changed my life. My feet started hurting a couple of years ago, and I was told it was plantar fasciitis.

My left foot the whole entire foot hurt, especially the top of the main bone and even my ankle. My right foot it was mostly my heel. But over the last several months it had gotten so bad that it hurt to walk and I had a limp.

I’d try to hold on to whatever I could when walking just to keep as much pressure off. I even have several different pairs of insoles made specifically for PF that I wore every day. I ordered these shoes (after researching and trying to find things to help) because of the reviews and them being made to help with plantar fasciitis.

I put them on as soon as they came in and I felt some relief. The next day I put them on when I woke up and by the end of the day I was very uncomfortable and was thinking they weren’t going to work for me but I had read that it takes up to ten days for them to contour to your feet so I continued to wear them.

Every waking minute! By the third or maybe fourth day I could walk with NO pain what’s so ever. I had energy and was/am able to stay up all day and I’m getting so much done! Looking back my quality of life was pretty much nonexistent and it’s crazy to me that it was all because my feet hurt so bad and I was in so much pain.

I literally didn’t want to do anything other than sleep because that was the only time I wasn’t in pain. And being a homeschooling momma of 4 that definitely wasn’t good. Once the pain was gone I was able to do so much more that I never really knew how much I was suffering and letting myself and duties go until then.

I ordered the slippers for wearing in the house. They don’t give me absolute relief like the shoes do but they are good for quick slipping on and off and they do take away most of the pain. But these tennis shoes are still my “go-to” and I wear them every single day.

Most of the time as soon as I wake up until I go to bed at night, but other times like on lazy staying at home days I’ll just put the slippers on. If you suffer from pain from Plantar fasciitis then do yourself a favor and GET THESE SHOES! Give it a few days of wearing them to get your feet used to them and you absolutely won’t regret it!!!.

I have many of the OrthoFeet styles but the Francis No-Tie is absolutely the best for bunions and/or wide feet! The no-tie laces hold the shoe securely around the mid-foot while leaving the toe box area roomy.

The Francis is the most comfortable shoe I have ever owned! This style is also perfect for golfing! I purchased the Black color and I will be purchasing the Blue color as well!.

I really needed a shoe that I could just slip into. I was very skeptical about how well these shoes would work for that. I was so thrilled to find that they work like a charm. And. of course they are amazingly comfortable as with all OrthoFeet shoes! I’m so glad I tried them!.

I love these sneakers. I have 2 pair now in different colors and will probably get more. They fit well and feel like you’re walking on clouds!! A+++

I purchased these in my “regular” size – 10W. Am very thankful QVC seems to have great shoes in sizes for people with larger and wider feet. I tried this shoe because I have metatarsus adductus – c-curved feet.

It was never corrected when I was a child and I only discovered the issue after I went to a podiatrist. Typically finding supportive, fashionable shoes is a royal annoyance. I have to wear custom orthotics.

Saw these and thought I would give them a try. As I was working out in them the big toe on my left foot kept bumping into the front of the shoe–hmmm. too small. But I liked all the other aspects of fit and comfort.

Sooooooooo I decided to try another pair in a 1/2 size larger. PERFECT workout shoe! I’m keeping both pairs. So if you are like me consider sizing up a 1/2 size in these. Other than that I have never had such a comfortable supportive shoe that fits my custom orthotics beautifully! Thank you, GDEFY!!! Now if you only made shoes other than athletic ones with the same support comfort.

I rarely write reviews but use them myself extensively, so I really have to submit one about these shoes. I have high arches and always get arch pain and other foot problems when walking. Not with these.

These are by far the most supportive and comfortable walking shoes (including sneakers and hiking boots!) I have ever worn. They provide several different orthotic inserts that you can try separately or put them all together, and this is the key.

You must try the different variations to get just the right fit and level of support you are looking for (read the instructions!). I ended up using all of the orthotics together and do not get the heal pain from walking that I would always get from other shoes (even Keen hiking boots, which I love, and Skechers Archfits, which I also love).

Just try them!.

I am pleased with these Mighty Walk shoes in most respects. I love the interchangeable insoles and quickly went for the “Corrective” one with arch support. They have a substantial sole, good for walking on cobblestones and not feeling every little pebble as in typical athletic shoes.

They have a very roomy toe box, which is terrific. I find them a wee bit short, and I had to go up not one but two sizes from my normal to not feel my toes touching the front inside. They are advertised as having a slight rocker bottom, but I dispute that (having worn MBTs for years).

There is a separate layer of heel material set in from the outer edge of the sole, rather than a smooth sole from heel to toe, making an odd roll-through. The light blue/grey color is reasonably neutral.

I am not in the business of giving a good review in exchange for free gifts-so this is a honest as it gets! 👟 As I had not heard of Fitville I was slightly sceptical (were they connected to Farmville?😅) but my scepticism was proven to be unfounded! 👟 I have suffered some foot issues over the years – a bunion removal operation, plantar fasciitis and achilles tendon issues.

👟 Although I have a fairly small bone frame my feet however are quite wide. I’ve often had to go to the men’s section to find trainers as women’s sizing can be too narrow in the toe area for me. In other words these shoes are designed with the wider foot in mind wide2E/ extra wide4E.

👟 So when Fitville asked me if I was interested in trying their shoes I seized the offer with two feet😁and can I say I have not been disappointed! 👟 When I put on these Rebound Core (woman’s) in sandy grey – (they do a Gent’s range also) I actually did not take them off for the entire day! It was as if I had worn them for months! There was no breaking in period at all.

I also loved the rubberised non slip soles especially when walking out in the Scottish rain. 👟 These shoes are equipped with wide toe boxes, patented PropelCoreTM EVA soles, and shock-absorbing pads, I literally felt I was walking on air with the cushioned inserts provided.

They also felt very light to wear. 👟 Most of all I love how stylish they are! I wondered would they have the look of shoes designed for the ermm. elderly. but not at all! In fact I had to prevent my daughter (24 yrs) @lookswithlaura from acquiring them for herself! 😂 👟 Can’t wait for summer walks here in the Highlands of Scotland with these stylish and comfortable shoes.

I have Multiple Sclerosis which means I have very strange feet that I can not wear most shoes. I can no longer walk on sandy beaches as too painful and my balance is not good either so a supportive shoe is vital.

3 years ago I broke my leg then Covid so my movement was greatly inhibited. I have only found one brand of trainers I can wear and have lived in them for over a year now. I had looked at Fitville and thought it might be worth a try and finally I have.

I bought them about a month ago and have slowly started using them, day at a time for a few hours to get my over sensitive feet used to them. I wore them for a couple of days at a time a few times and now for the last 3 days continuously! I walked over a patch of land, grassed but uneven today that I haven’t done for 3 years with our dog.

A bouncy Labrador pointer rescue. I find I can drive much better in them and can feel the soles of my feet too and wiggle and move my feet/toes. I actually forgot to take my cane and only realised when I thought something is missing! I went without it even when I realised.

Not for too long but trainers have a wide supportive sole which I realised are easier to stand with that extra support. So if this is how a person with a real physical challenge can be made to feel, just try them.

I am now going to try the trainers you don’t have to bend to do up laces and are quite cute too. Nice colours. and use them as supportive slippers. I am so glad I took the plunge and bought them. Dark blue rebound core ladies.

I bought ladies 6 and they are true to size. Don’t be tempted to size down because wider. I have been 6 all my life, 39 European. And the extra width gives more movement to my feet. I have a smaller foot by half a size but bought to fit the larger foot.

I hope this review may help others with weird feet, neuropathy etc. Those with fabulous normal feet, these will be just amazing! Thank you for reading, i hope this helps. To be able to walk again on land I have not been able to for 3 years gives such hope and pleasure.

I got these because of awful problems with my feet, particularly fasciitis and achilles problems, and I have to walk quite a bit. I needed a comfortable fit. These come in 2 sizes of width, the WIDE was perfect for me rather than EXTRA WIDE.

I was able to judge the correct size by measuring my foot length and using the fitting guide. Perfect. The support they give is very good even though they are very light weight shoes. They have what they call an anti-pronation ring which helps stop my foot from rolling inwards as I walk.

I knocked off a star though because they are not waterproof. For £75 I’d have expected a waterproof membrane to be built in. Having said that, I would buy again.

These looked to be everything they were talked up to be until they arrived. Could hardly get my foot in and I don’t have a wide foot. They were so uncomfortable like walking on wood. The insole doesn’t appear to have any padding whatsoever other than the arch support.

The tongue of the trainer on the underside is badly finished off and rubbed on the top of my foot. So would have been forced to wear socks to make them in any way comfortable, then that would have meant getting a bigger size as they are so neat.

I have at least 6 other pairs of Vionic’s, sandals, slippers and trainers and they are all fantastic. Don’t know what’s gone wrong here but it’s enough to put me off the brand, particularly at this price – they are way off the mark.

There are only 2 brands of footwear I can cope with these days having plantar fasciitis on one foot, they are Vionic and Skechers. The way these have been made is enough to make me walk straight to Skechers from now on.

Really disappointed. Being returned.

I always wear a size 10. So I ordered a size 10. When it arrived I had to recheck label several times because the toe box was so short it was bumping my big tow. I almost thought that someone put a 9-1/2 into a 10 box.

But the label said 10. Quality of shoe was good, but someone didn’t check the laces. The tip was missing and the lace could slip out of hole too easy. I would be uneasy recommending it because someone might be expecting a normal length and it may be too short for them also.

The width was medium as posted and I purchased a medium. I would really like Vionic and others to make Narrow widths, but I don’t see any. Anyway the width size isn’t going to correct the depth of the toe box.

Not often do I write one of these but I have to say that in all my 74 yrs have I ever had a pair shoes that I could actually wear all day. My body wants to sway because of my problems. With these shoes they keep me straight on.

I am so in love with these that I am thinking about another pair in another color, if they are available. Mine are the awesome pink looking ones that matched a lot of my tops. I love love love them. I also really love my other Vionics a lot.

OH! I bought these a nine because I wear thin socks or footies with them.

I learned of OrthoFeet after researching good shoes for people with long toes. Although at only 5’3 I know little of long body parts, I inherited my 6’1 father’s long, luxurious toes — including his Morton’s toe, which leaves an annoying little hole in 80% of my socks — and have spent decades jealous of the tiny jelly beans other women have for toes instead of these sloth-like digits 🙂 The description about length warned that a size up would need to be ordered on this particular style, so while I’m normally a size 6.

5, I ordered them in a 7. The shoes are great, clearly designed and packaged with care, hence the 5 stars. Unfortunately, my feet are on the narrow side, so the medium width of a size 7 just felt too big.

My heel was threatening to slip out with every step, yet the toe box was barely long enough, so going any smaller in size would have compressed my toes into total discomfort. I played around with combinations of the two different spacers and heel support and different sock thicknesses to see what would make the sneaker feel snug enough not to threaten to fall off as I walked.

I finally found what works for me, including using a narrow-footed lacing pattern I found online that looks like a drunk toddler tied my shoes for me. They’re still slightly loose-feeling on the sides and heel, but they finally accommodate my toes, which has been a lifelong challenge, so I decided not to take advantage of OrthoFoot’s generous shipping and return policy.

I’m making the shoes work. But I appeal to OrthoFeet to keep those of us with long toes, but not necessarily large feet, in mind when designing future sneakers. I love the style, but either an extra long toebox or narrow size option would have created the perfect fit I’ve been seeking.

So far, only a brand called NurseMates has been able to make sneakers that fit me perfectly. I hoped OrthoFeet would be a new option. It’s really, really close.

I rarely write reviews but I feel I need to for these shoes. I have severely flat feet. My arches are always swollen and my feet always hurt. I’ve had many different types of expensive prescription orthotics and they never seem to help any more than the store bought ones to be honest.

This shoe is the most comfortable one I’ve had. The pain in the top of my foot is almost gone and the plastic inserts give me just enough support. My arches aren’t aching like they use to. I work at a Y as a wellness coach so I have a closet full of various workout shoes but these are my favorite and the only ones I want to wear anymore.

I bought the black, then the turquoise and will probably be buying the pink. They have truly been a game changer for me! Please continue to make more colors! I am a 9 and usually size up to a 9. 5 for athletic shoes but I probably could have sized up to a 10 and used the inserts they give you.

If you’re in between, I would suggest doing that.

I’m a hot mess. Foot pain, pronation, back pain, scoliosis, hip pain, and of course rotten, old arthritic knees (guess mama was right – I spent way too much time on them in my youth). Pardon me dirty man – I’m talking about 42 years of skating, hockey, cheerleading, paintball, basketball, volleyball, jumping off roofs – don’t ask why.

it takes it’s toll. Anyway – 50’s creep up and it got to where I couldn’t take my poor puppy around the block for a walk without feeling excruciating pain somewhere, everywhere. He was not a happy puppy.

I hit rock bottom on the activity scale – so I bought a pair of Verve’s – and “oh boy” that hit the spot! Within a few weeks, I was wearing out my Great Dane – going for miles and running him crazy around the dog park – sometimes twice a day.

Now, my Dane’s worn out, and I can’t get enough. No sir – you dirty, dirty man – from exercising. (ick). I’ve since bought Tahoe, Coral and Naples. And they’re all great. So much better than the “bums” I used to get.

But Verve. my my my. will always hold a very, very special place in my heart. I’ll definitely being hitting up Verve again.

I developed bunions from fallen arches and also lumbar strain from my fallen arches making my pelvis uneven and putting strain on my back. My DO measured me with these shoes on and it fixed my pelvic imbalance.

Arches supported, great with the extra plastic piece as i have high arches normally. Shoes is very cushioned almost springy, but sturdy. Does not rub on ankles or heels like other shoes. Definitely worth it.

Wish they had regular laces but i did not like color combos in the laced styles. I ran a little outside to test and they did well. Great for walking indoor or on a treadmill, also good as an everyday shoe.

I bought these for work. I am a nurse, so my feet take a beating as well as my back. As a child, I always had to wear shoes with a built-up arch due to flat feet. My old shoes were wearing and they no longer carry that particular style.

These shoes popped up while I was looking on Amazon. I ordered a pair of Easy Spirits as well as these. These fit like a glove. I like them so well that I have been wearing them almost daily at home.

Therefore, I just had to buy myself a pair for everyday. My podiatrist saw them the other day and asked what brand they were and if they were comfortable. I proceeded to tell her that they made my feet feel good as well as my back.

The arch is perfect. I have since, introduced them to a friend who will probably be ordering a pair Orthofeet soon. My feet and back thank you.

After developing foot issues that require a wider toe box, I tried several different brands and models of day hikers, but was never quite satisfied with comfort and support. I kept ending up with sore soles and felt like I would still roll an ankle on tougher trails.

I’d never heard of Hanwag, but these popped up on MEC’s website as something new, so I read up on them and was excited to order a pair. They exceed my expectations! Though a bit heavier than I initially wanted, they are obviously a quality product that is going to last a very long time on all sorts of terrain.

The weight, coupled with amazing support actually gives me a sense that I can keep swinging my legs for more miles, and I have not felt like I needed to get them off my feet after a hike. In fact, I often keep them on to do yard work afterwards.

This is a solid boot that hugs my feet and has support for the whole arch (tho I did have to add a very thin insole that has a super thin arch cookie for my own foot issues, a regular height arch that’s starting to fall a bit).

My feet are regular width, but need some room for my toes to spread, and there’s plenty of room without my foot sliding around. The lacing system is fantastic in that you can tighten the forefoot, hook the first eyelets which lock the laces (also great for my feet which can’t be laced too tight), and then cinch the ankle good and tight for great support.

These boots will serve me well for long distance hikes and rugged trails and hills as they have far better support than some of the lighter weight options I had trialed. Their company will replace the soles if they wear out (tho you’ll have to send or take them to Europe), so this speaks well for the confidence they have in their product, and I could feel as soon as I pulled them out of the box that they are a well-made, well engineered product! A thin, wool sock suffices in up to -20C weather if you keep moving, and the soles grip really well on all but the icy patches, but I haven’t had a chance to try them on wet rocks yet.

No blisters to report, but I haven’t had sustained uphill yet either; can’t wait!.

Hello Fellow Bunionites: Thanks to Hanwag, we now have an option of a last that is designed to provide the right kind of room and support to our bones. I bought these boots in hopes of hiking in them but it’s taking longer to break them in than I imagined.

They are well designed and constructed. My foot and ankles feel supported in them. I wore them around the house for a full week without issue, decided to keep them, and then took a city walk of less than two miles in them.

I came home with a big blister on the top of my foot (on the big toe knuckle) that set me back. I am still trying to break them in before a trip to Grand Teton National Park in two weeks, but it’s slow going for my left foot.

If you decide to invest in this boot, I suggest ordering a pair of the Hanwag bunion socks at the same moment. I wish I had done that, since a later decision to purchase the socks proved it was worth it.

I’m grateful for Hanwag and for Moosejaw for recognizing us and our feet. Finally, someone is paying attention to the fact that surgery is not a solution for some. I appreciate the prompt delivery and ease of return (this is the second Hanwag style I have tried).

And I’m REALLY hoping my feet toughen up for the journey and these boots become old friends.

I bought these boots as I was going on a 4 day hiking trip in BC and my previous boots were too light weight and worn out for rocky terrain. I’ve tried many different makes/models of boots trying to find the right fit and comfort.

These boots were comfortable right away. I spent quite some time walking around in the store and did the same at home for 4 days before heading off on my trip. The boots worked perfectly! They were great walking across loose rock, large boulders, through snow and across rivers.

The only thing I find is that they loosen off and I have to remember to re-tie them before I head down the mountain. Not sure I love the laces, I may change them. All in all, a great lightweight, comfortable boot and waterproof – they look good too! I bought the Revivex Suede & Fabric Boot Care Kit also – and they clean very easily and get back to like new.

Highly recommend. I was also pleased to know that MEC offer a ‘Field Trial’ on the boot – so if they hadn’t worked out on my trip, I could take them back for a refund. Great service from MEC and makes it worthwhile shopping there.

I have bunions on both feet and have had nothing but problems finding wide (2E) shoes in the usual suspects of brands. I have owned Han Wag shoes before and loved them. Keep these in good shape and you can re-sole them and they will last a lifetime.

Valhalla Pure was amazing as they caught the fact that I had accidentally ordered the wrong size shoe. Awesome customer support. Overall a great experience to purchase a great product. Han Wag is a great shoe company.

I had an ancient pair of Banks Low that I LOVED, but truly did their time and needed to be replaced. I waffled on the new Low Bunion because. well. I don’t have bunions. I’m so glad that I just decided to buy them.

The fit is similar to the original Banks Low with a slightly wider toe box. It might be reasonable to order a 1/2 size smaller in the Bunion than in the original shoe if you do not have bunions. I love the improvement with the tongue and I can tell that the new iteration will be just as durable as its predecessor.

As a veterinarian, I spend most of the day on my feet. These shoes are perfect for a long work day and they can easily transition to after work dog-walks or whatever else I throw at them.

Love them. Purchased them , wore around the house one day and left on vacation. Did not need a break in period. Very comfortable and my bunion did not act up. Since they are suede I was worried about cleaning.

After a hike I just brushed off with a soft brush. No slipping on the hike through gravel, shallow creeks, steep hills. I had never heard of this company. Recommend by a friend and glad she pointed me in this direction.

I bought these shoes because I have a lot of issues with my feet. Just had surgery for a bone spur removal on the top of my foot and also have bone spurs on my heals as well as inflamed plantar in the heal area.

I was excited to buy these shoes because of all the positive reviews. It did take a while to break them in. While they are not terrible, they are not what I hoped for. Maybe if I didn’t have so many things wrong with my feet they would be better, but I’m still in search of that comfortable shoe.

These shoes are not horrible by any means. I feel like they could be comfortable without issues. They do provide good heal support. My other problem is that they rub the side of my foot by my toes. I feel like 3 stars isn’t good enough but 4 stars would be too many.

I would probably go with a 3. 5. I think some people would really like them. While they are not my favorite, I do still wear them, just not every day. If you have really wide feet, I would not recommend them.

I’ve struggled with plantar fasciitis for about 4 years now. I actually had surgery 3 years ago to correct it in my left foot. I was resigned to being forced to wear ugly shoes for the rest of my life, but I figured I’d give this shoe a try.

I was not disappointed! I read all the reviews, took the time to break them in, and will definitely be buying another pair when these need to be replaced. The arch support is fantastic. The Achilles support is awesome.

I have more narrow feet, so I was a little concerned about all the comments regarding a wide toe box. It is wide and doesn’t crunch my toes, but not so wide that it looks or feels like clown shoes like Birkenstock sandals look on me.

I can wear this shoe all day and not have any pain in my left foot anymore. They seem to be true to size. I wear and 8. 5 and ordered an 8. 5. They fit my feet perfectly. I would definitely recommend this shoe!.

Have owned these for about a month. The Pros: 1. The heel cushioning system works pretty well as my heel pain is definitely reduced but not eliminated. 2. The toe box is my favorite feature. I have never owned a pair of shoes that didn’t put some kind of pressure on my toes at some point.

With these, I can stand all day long and feel absolutely zero pressure on my forefoot/toes. 3. They look better than I expected. The cons: 1. Have done nothing for my ankle/knee/back pain. 2. I work on sealed concrete all day and the grip on these shoes is non-existent.

I slide all over the place. 3. The insole was surprisingly cheap & flimsy. I replaced it with an upgrade. This surprised me in an “orthotic” shoes. Would I recommend these to others? I don’t think so.

If I bought these again it would be 100% for the zero pressure on my toes. As far as I can tell, they’re really just another pair of sneakers.

OMG! I have never had a better online shoe purchase experience. I’ve tried several times to purchase shoes online and it’s been a huge drag. With these shoes, they were a fit right out of the box. I really loved how they didn’t dig into my ankle, as they were low cut enough.

Also where the tongue meets the top of my foot, it was not restrictive nor uncomfortable in the least. I sized up. 5. Normally I wear between an eight and 8 1/2 and I purchased an 8 1/2. The shoes are incredibly comfortable.

I do not have plantar fasciitis, but I often feel sore at the end of my shifts. I stand on my feet a lot as a chef. My lower back usually hurts by hour number five. Not with these-I am not tired and my back doesn’t hurt.

They give plenty of support and they actually look attractive! I bought the white shoes with the blue trim. I super highly recommend them for those people who stand on their feet for long periods of time.

I use these shoes for walking. Not on a flat surface, but on a county road that goes up and down. Also for a every day shoe. I ordered a 1/2 size down as instructed and wish I had kept the whole size instead.

I find that the end of my toe sometimes hits the end of my shoe when going down hill. The foot box is really spacy so my feet slide around a bit. But overall, I like the style and tread, doesn’t gather a lot of gravel in the tread.

The support is great.

I do have a pronation developed within a year. No shoes work. No sandals work. So I decided to give a try to my shoes I purchase at Hamnacher Schlemmer. Yesterday I went ( for the first time in a year) to the Gym and I walked 2 miles and.

NO PAIN ! All the contrary ! i walked, my back or my hip did not hurt and my pronation was directed to the right position ! I love my shoes ! Thanks !.

I got this shoe because of painful plantar fasciitis and all the reviews were glowing. I’m not sure why, though. First of all, the shoe itself has no arch support. The insert that comes with the shoe was a nice (albeit brief) relief for the plantar fasciitis.

After a short time, I started to experience acute lower back pain due to the lack of arch support (a problem I’ve dealt with most of my life). After going to a podiatrist and getting new custom orthotic inserts, the shoes are wearable.

(However, they aren’t terribly stable when twisting them lengthwise, and if you bend the shoe in half to see how firm the mid-section of the shoe is, it’s pretty flexible. ) As for the style of the shoe, it resembles a downhill mountain biking shoe and feels clunky and bulky when walking around.

I am not exactly sure what the correct “occasion” would be to wear them. I wouldn’t want to wear them running/jogging, and they’re heavy for exercising. They look bulky to just wear with pants or shorts.

If the lacing system were swapped for velcro, I’d totally use them for downhill mountain biking, as mentioned earlier. And the laces. Unless you are lacing a *literal* brick into the shoes, I don’t know why the laces are so crazy long.

(When tied in a regular bow knot, the loops on both sides as well as the loose ends reach almost to the floor. These laces could/should be 10″ shorter than as designed. ) There are more affordable, reasonable, stylish options out there.

The guidelines say that I can’t mention competitors, so I’ll let you do some more Googling. But for the price of these shoes, I think there are (and have found) better options.

I purchased these Kuru’s after turning down the VA to purchase ortho shoes for me. I have neuropathy in both feet from a back issue compounded by a back operation which did not correct some issues. The VA after over 1 year of pain in my right foot, finally agreed to take Xrays to diagnose my feet issues.

They found it was not plantar fasciitis but a non-cancerous mass in the connecting tissue of my right arch and a retear of a ligament in my left ankle which has caused massive issues with my Achilles Tendon with each step.

It is necessary I have shoes that fit and are comfortable to wear due to my feet issues and my bionic titanium left hip. the right will be replaced in the future. I am holding off on that as long as I can.

I went looking for something to help after the VA sent me to have Ortho inserts made and it takes over 45 days to make so I went searching and found Kuru. I appreciate the sizing which fits my size 12s perfectly with room for my toes to move so I know they are still there.

The Kuru’s are comfortable and I wear them every day on my dog walks unless I will walk my shepherd through the woods then I wear my trail shoes. I will be looking to see if Kuru also has trail running shoes.

Good shoe, Good Fit and Good Comfort.

I deal with plantar fasciitis and I don’t mind paying a premium for a quality solution so I was really excited to see if this shoe lived up to it’s own marketing hype. I will confess that I think this shoe technology has some real promise.

Unfortunately, this shoe is awful. First, it’s an ugly dad shoe. No amount of tech can compensate for how ugly it is. It’s hard to believe that anyone charging this kind of a premium for a shoe thought this was the perfect balance of form, style and function.

That’s the primary reason I sent it back. The leather straps that go over the front part of the foot also squeeze like a vice. I didn’t care for that. I also didn’t care for the exchange or return process.

I disliked it enough that instead of trying another style I decided just return them and go in another direction.

First of all, I can’t believe how quickly these shoes arrived at my door! I think it was 4 or possibly 5 days from order time until they were here! I was very pleased with my operator, she was very nice, very helpful and very efficient! It really is such a pleasure to speak to someone who is totally knowledgeable about their product.

These shoes are perfect for my AFOs. They fit the braces perfectly. I bought the same shoe in the laced version and found it was too hard to tie once I had the braces on. This version is seriously ugly (hence the four stars) but is easy to lace and does the job it is intended to do very well.

I have only had a chance to wear them for one work shift but I think these are the ticket to a good sturdy well made shoe. They look big and clunky but I do not care as all I want is to be comfortable.

Size is good and plenty of room for if my feet swell up by the end of the shift. I am very happy with the shoe purchase.

After placing wreaths at Arlington National Cemetery in Washington, DC my feet were the only thing that did’nt beg for relief. My legs ached for two days from the walking. What an honor it was as a veteran to take an active part in this wonderful tradition at Christmastime.

This is the most comfortable shoe I’ve worn in a long time, BUT the leather is very poor quality for this price. I have 2 pairs; the top layer of leather on both pairs not only scuffed easily, but tore right off of the shoes.

No amount of polish can be used to restore them. I don’t wear them every day, either. What a shame! I don’t mind paying for a comfortable shoe, but for over $100. /pair I do expect my shoes to last more than 1 season.

Unfortunately, I’m now looking for a similar style by another manufacturer.

I needed some new shoes for work. I walk all day. Softwalk carries 10. 5 which is hard to find. These shoes happen to be on sale ( Yippee). They are very comfortable. I do work in a warehouse and the only complaint is they aren’t of a harder material on the outside.

In case I drop something on my foot. But I love them!.

My search for well fitting boots has been complicated by a narrow heel and wide instep; feet almost impossibly between just about all manufacturer’s sizes (10. 3? 43. 6? no one makes these); and then, a few years ago, plantar fasciitis, which I think was in part brought on by the new crop of shoes with almost no insole structure, combined with my search for light weight boots.

Lightweight, by the by, seems to be partially accomplished by slicing weight by slicing the outsole, which means some amount of the structure is sliced away as well. I tried low top boots, and a variety of high top light weight boots, and at the end of the day, day pack or weekend pack, my feet were pretty sore.

Sure, my Asolo 520 GTX boots, with all that weight, would protect my feet, but I was trying to get away from that weight, hence my foray into the world of light weight and reduced support. The third outsoles are still in good shape on those 520s, but the stitching needed to be redone and I figured, time for new boots.

Heavy boots. Over-the-ankle boots. But, the reviews on the new version of the 520s were pretty poor so I needed to look elsewhere. My search came up with Hanwag. I’d seen a few ads in Backpacker for the Hanwag Tatra and pointed them out to my wife, born and raised hiking and skiing in the Tatra Mountains of southern Poland, so when they turned up on my search–narrow heel wide instep–I was more than amused I was intrigued.

And bought them 2 years ago. The lace locks are a vital touch; being able to easily isolate lacing from top to bottom is better accomplished with this simple thing, and it allows a looser lower to stay looser from the snugger upper.

The padded collar is supremely comfortable, and the almost weird outsole shape provides stability and comfort for long days on all kinds of trails. They’re not light–I gave up on light, even if I didn’t embrace foot weights–but they prove the old adage that if really comfortable and easy to articulate on a tough trail, the weight won’t be noticed.

And it’s not. I pulled and tossed the insoles. The only shoe or boot I’ve bought in 30 years that had really keepable insoles have been Oboz, and everything else, no matter the price, gets my Superfeet insoles.

They transform good to great and great to superb. If any shoe or boot fits your feet, I’m happy for you. That’s not the case for me, so when something this good comes along I think other people looking for the same thing should know about it.

I’ve spent easily $1,000 dollars over the past 8 years trying to find a light weight hiking boot that worked for me, and I have to say it was a foolish–and pricey–adventure. These boots have proven themselves so well to me, I just bought a pair of Hanwag Vason shoes (from another company), and am already very impressed with the supreme comfort and support they provide over most other shoes I own or have tried.

They have more than my vote, they have my money.

Background and disclosures on what I am using these for: Dayhikes carrying a 3 or 5 year old with supplies and/or on mild/cold weather backpacking trips. 35-55 lbs total Since discovering Sole cork insoles, I put them in every shoe/boot I use to support my high arches, so I can’t speak to the stock Hanwag insoles.

Liner socks + merino wool socks no matter the weather helps substantially with blister control. Had to be resoleable. I was searching for my next decade boot. Living in CA now, having a waterproof boot isn’t as imperative as it was in my time in the PNWet, but it is still needed for year round, “whole-lot-of-not-carin’ ” hiking/backing like I enjoy doing even if it is raining.

After 12 years with my Asolo’s the sole started flapping around due to the classic foam midsole deterioration problem they are known to have in their design. (Quick plug for the Asolos – The uppers were still great and I did look into resoling, but over the years my arches seemed to flatten, so I was getting toe hammer more regularly and needed a larger size anyway.

They found a new home in my family will hopefully be resoled and last another decade there. ) Back to the Hanwags. Support – Solid ankle support, comfortable materials in both the sole but also the interior of the boot which is like a memory foam comforter for my whole foot/ankle! The tread is more aggressive and with the boots shank/tread isolating your foot from feeling every rock on the trail, you won’t need to worry about foot fatigue while walking on granite all day.

The lacing system adds to this – see below for more details. Lacing System – Dual zone lacing system that works way better than just a single zone system. The ball bearings make a noticeable difference in the evenness of the tension on the lower part of the boot allowing for some great control.

The eye used to isolate upper and lower tensions is not as effective as my mountaineering boots (Scarpa Montblancs & La Sportiva Spantiks), in that it doesn’t grab as easily. But from a functionality perspective, they do the job but you do have to ensure you get the lace locked into place.

Then you can work on getting the tension in the upper part of the boot how you like it. This, along with slightly more perceived quality in build construction is what made my decision over the second place boot by Mammut.

Uppers – The leather on the upper is of high quality and flexible. I don’t feel pinch points while walking up or down. I kneel with them on and still have enough flex to avoid painful pinch points. They feel thick enough to last and the stitching is very solid.

Breathability – Thus far I have worn these boots for 10+ hours inside my house and for a 6 mile hike. Even with my dual sock strategy, I have yet to feel that my feet were “wetting out” the boot from the inside.

Are they warm? Yes. But likely due to the nice amount of interior padding, their seems to be enough air space for that moisture to move away from my foot through my sock system and expelled out of the boot.

In all honesty, this is where I was worried the most about these boots when I first put them on due to the higher amount of leather + Goretex, but in practice it hasn’t been a problem at all. I am very pleased and surprised.

Build quality – Stitching where the inner of the boot connects to the tongue and the softer padded material around the collar of the boot were what sold me on this boot over the Mammuts, which were very similar in a lot of ways.

The seams and stitching are immaculate. Even at $50 more, I could reconcile the price difference with the perceived build quality of the Hanwags, even though I truly believe the Mammut Trovats would also be a great option for a 10 year boot for me.

“Party bonus” Features – Ball bearing lacing system, Upper/lower boot isolation system, build quality, breathability, beefy tread, potential to be used with strap-on crampons. Summary – Hanwags aren’t easily found, but worth a go.

Fits true to size. I wear 12M. I thought I might end up returning at least one pair before getting the right fit because there is no dealer close enough for me to try them before ordering. Fortunately, mine was true to size.

Some reviewers complain about the toe box being too narrow but I found after wearing the boots a few times it loosens up just enough. The support is outstanding. I worked all day in the yard wearing an old pair of my boots and could hardly walk that evening and the next morning due to pain in my left leg.

I put these boots on that morning and immediately the pain was gone. I wore them all that day pain free. Lesson learned again, footwear matters. I recommend these boots and intend to try another model of Hanwag too.

Discovered this brand through National Pedorthic Services and bought 2 pair of this style: deep blue and chestnut brown. I would prefer to consider other colors than black. Maybe a shade of grey? This shoe turned out to be a winner for my orthotic and toes.

These shoes are really working well for me but getting old, especially the blue pair which is older. So I am inquiring about one or two new shoes of this design. Also, I don’t know how to answer the width question.

Very comfortable shoes for anyone that have problem feet. I have tried other shoes but none have been as comfortable as these shoes. I have flat feet, bunions, corns, hammer toes Calsus and sensitive feet.

Also these shoes are suitable for people who have a normal heel fitting and can be worn without fear of the foot slippy out of the shoe.

This Mary Jane style shoe is extremely comfortable. great for women with wide feet and large feet. wesr and tear? They last forever if u take care of them. look new after wearing them for couple years.

if u have tired feet and a wide foot and have trouble finding size 11 or 12 fit with comfort. u must buy these shoes. u won’t be sorry. thry will last a very long time. i have used mine in nursing gardening.

in mud in dirt in working outdoors and still they remain in tact.

Love these sandals. I cannot wear traditional toe posts as I have a bunion on my right foot. I cannot normally wear sandals that are open at the back as I have dropped arches and normally wear inserts.

These sandals do it all. The toe loop is comfortable and the footbed supports my arches. Winner all round. The sandals look good and are just so comfortable.

Sandals are comfortable. On the size 38-39 came 40. In the rise is very large, but in the heat this freedom allows you to move freely, do not rub, even at first use. ‘Orthopedic Corrector’ conditional-the finger does not become in place))) but the lump on the foot perfectly closes.

The correction sandals appear to be just what I need, I have never been able to buy toe post sandals due to a foot issue, these seem to be perfect, they are also very soft leather and I ordered the black which will go with most outfits.

I’m 63 and was searching for two things: a very supportive ankle boot and a Doc Martens look. I’ve always had achey feet and need orthopedic shoes. (Doc Martens would kill my feet. ). I slowly gave up on the look.

I ordered the Hanwag boots because they have a lug sole and were not too much like a heavy backpacking boot. They’re more like a trekking boot. I wore them to work for the first time and my feet felt quite good at the end of the day, which is saying a lot!! Actually I’d waited a long time because I couldn’t decide between the size 8.

5 and 9 (my regular shoe size). But, I realized the 9 was perfect for my worst foot. I can tighten the boots a lot, and with a thick sock, the boot is good enough for the other smaller foot. I recommend these boots if you want a boot that holds your feet tightly so you have support.

I would like a little more arch support, but it’s definitely sufficient. The sole is thick and keeps my feet comfortable walking city blocks from the parking lot to my job. These boots are very, very well crafted and smart looking.

The heel is comfortably snug too, which is great for me. I recommend these boots for people blessed with good feet and for those with problem feet like mine.

Just brought my third pair. They get a lot of use as an everyday shoe as well as for walks. When the tread is gone they do excellent service as a garden/work shoe.

Purchased these shoes for 3 season use. Very satisfied. Overall this company Hanwag is top notch. Have a pair of heavy boots I had purchased 2 years ago and they have not disappointed.

The shoes look narrow at the fore foot area but fit true to size and feel like a glove. Good quality and well made. Not sure the durability of the out sole.

I am going to be working on my feet for many hours administrating the Covid-19 vaccine. I have a funky lower back so I need support and comfort. They also look cool and the price was right. Don’t let me down.
