20 Best Women’S Cross Country Ski Jacket (2023 Updated)

I use this for cross country skiing and it’s a great overall design. My only wish is that it would have a zipper that you could also open from the bottom. But other than that no complaints!

Beautifully made- very functional and lightweight. Perfect for snowshoeing , cross country skiing or just hiking.

Looks great, doesn’t bind while skate skiing, blocks wind well. My girlfriend loves it!

It was really nice as material and color. Anyway I had to return it because for my body wasn’t look nice at the lower back.

Totally happy w/this purchase. Worn alone or with an undershirt it keeps you warm and snug as a baby bug in midrange temps. At lower temps. it serves up toasty insulation as a base layer. It’s high viz.

AF at night too. This brand certainly has my attention now. Pricey but worth it. Oh, and it looks great. You’ll stand out, but not TOO far out. It just looks classy. For ref. , I am 5 foot 9 and weigh 145 lbs.

The sizing guidelines for this jacket were spot on.

Jacket has the perfect functionality and comfort for cross-country skiing and outdoor sports beyond; it is light and breathable, whilst at the same time maintains warmth and shields from wind and wet conditions.

Safety enhancing tailoring of sleeves – they will not roll up, if downhill falls. Better suited for relatively mild, i. e. as cold as minus 5′ C, as opposed to really cold, weather. A bonus – you will look good in it! :).

I bought this jacket to wear during the cold and windy spring and fall seasons, and on less cold winter days. The fit felt wrong. It was slightly tight in the shoulders, but pretty loose elsewhere. I couldn’t zip the collar all the way up because it was really oddly uncomfortable.

The lack of outside pockets on the side was really annoying. I kept going for them. Sure, there’s an outside pocket at the chest area, but it’s really not convenient or sufficient. There are positives mind you: The jacket does an amazing job at protecting from the cold wind.

With only a base layer I was nicely warm. It also does a great job at wicking sweat. My upper body was dry. Unfortunately, my issues with the design of the jacket outweighed the positive.

This looked good in the photos but was really disappointing. It is not a jacket, which would imply some insulation – it is a shell. There is no insulating layer anywhere. The hood looked like a good idea in case of snow storm, etc.

, but it is so long in front is completely covers the eyes !! I suppose it can be folded back over itself, but why?? I can only think that if you had a big puffy hat in it, that it could be held up off the face.

really? As well, the fit is rather boxy and cold air can get up from the bottom. It’s going back.

It’s a nice lightweight jacket but it doesn’t take layers well. The arms aren’t roomy enough. I bought it to wear for Nordic skiing on warmer days but it’s not warm enough. I can comfortably wear a base layer and a light fleece vest under it but that’s it.

It also doesn’t fit my figure (hourglass) very well. It would fit better on ladies with slim hips. Even though this jacket is not ideal for me, it’s well made and of good quality. It would be nice for walking or running in spring/fall weather.

It’s not a winter jacket.

It is a well-designed jacket that provides a high degree protection from the elements. The 4-way stretch fabric permits unrestricted movement and two zip pockets are a nice, practical touch. The ‘wine-tasting’ colour looks quite stylish.

I got it for my girlfriend and she is very happy with it. She does have a narrower waist, though, than the average woman of her height and weight. So it is possible that what is the right size for her may run too small for others.

The Salomon Momentum jacket is quite a nice jacket. The fit, a large, is an athletic cut, which means it hugs the body as opposed to being big and baggy. It’s not tight, bit on a slim-ish cut. Materials are top notch, as is the construction, not to mention the good looks! I’ve used it only three times, but found nothing wrong with it.

Give it a 5 star!!!.

I haven’t tried it out in the cold yet. Got the red but it is not as bright red as the picture. I got the medium but it fits me with a just bit of room. I wore a light sweater underneath. The size guide states bust size for M is 35-38 inches.

I would say it is 35-36. if you are 38 probably should size up.

I ski on an area lake and can be in the wind a good deal, so I needed a chill blocker. On colder days I pair it with both a light and midweight base layer, and it works beautifully. Chose the sky-blue color combination and it pairs nicely with my Craft wind pants.

I’m 5’4″ and 135 and the small fits perfectly. The medium was a tad too large for my frame.

Excellent quality looks lovely on and appears very warm not skied in it yet. I am a small 10 so sometimes a size 8 and I could only fit into a large there’s room for a skinny fleece underneath but no more So be aware of the sizing however jacket is great value and I’d highly recommend.

Customer service is tip top I had to return some ski trousers are too big and refund system is brilliant.

I was excited when I received this jacket. It was so pretty and I couldn’t wait to hit the slopes in it. However, it was very small and I had to return it. I usually wear a large but ordered xl and it was still too small.

I was bummed that xl was the largest they had, bc I love the looks of this jacket.

This is a beautiful ski jacket, lovely quality and the colour is even better than as seen on-line. Ordered one size, then ordered the next size up, to compare (if you like a slightly looser fit, order up).

Each arrived promptly and returning the unwanted one was very easy and convenient (courier collected it from home, no charge).

Great shape and colour. It is quite narrow in the hips and loose across the chest.

Too long in the length and the sleeves, so had to return. Loved the 2 way zipper- wish all jackets had these. Nice colors (black/grey), fabric feels sturdy, a bit stiff. Wish the powder skirt was removable.

It does have some nice hooks that look like they would actually adapt to a variety of pants.

I bought this coat for my 14 year old son because it is nearly identical to the coat I use for snowboarding. We love our coats. Great quality, style, and comfort. I would never hesitate to purchase Scott gear!.

Love this jacket for skiing – whether downhill (w/ puff inside) or uphill on it’s own. Super well made. I’m 5’6/118# and bought a small. Is a little loose – but good for using w/ a puff on inside. XS might be too tight? Bought the majolica blue one – is gorgeous!.

This jacket looks very stylish. The size is much more smaller than other brands. I usually take MM in brands like Northface or Peak Performance, but for this jacket I took XL and it fits just ok. It is not a warm jacket and the sleeves are made of thin extensible material.

This peace is more an in-between seasons one. But still, I like it!.

This is a great ski workout layer. Could also be used for running and cycling. Not much insulation on the sleeves so you don’t overheat there. But the sleeve material cuts the wind nicely, so you don’t get wind chilled.

The front insulation layer keeps you warm, but not overheated while exerting oneself. Has enough flex to not restrict body movements. A size large will usually allow me to wear several underlayers comfortably, but this jacket would be a bit snug with those same layers.

The cross country jacket is very stylish and form fitting, but the fabric around the core is not stretchy so it is restrictive when you are doing vigorous skiing. You would probably have to size up to be able to move your arms and flex your torso freely and comfortably.

I wish Rossignol could make the jacket with a more stretchy material while keeping the beautiful silhouette so that it would be both chic and functional.

Needed a new shell for XC skiing and this fit the bill. It is just the right weight, and love the colors. XL is definitely a bit too roomy on me if I just wear a light layer underneath (5’9”, 190 lbs) but wanted it roomy enough to fit a sweater or fleece underneath on really cold days.

It also breathes pretty well. First day out wearing it got compliments at the Nordic center!.

Purchased this softshell jacket for my ski holiday and it did not disappoint, the quality is top standard and the fitting is accurate. It keeps me warm and is breathable at the same time, just what I was after.

Very flattering cut with a lot of details. Haven’t put it into test for real cold weather hiking or xc skiing for the function yet, but seems to hold up warms well. Highly recommend it!

I had to return this jacket due to fit issues. The quality of material and construction was outstanding if maybe a bit too warm and heavy for cross country. The jacket was longer than necessary but the biggest problem for me was the fit in the chest was so big it bulged out in front.

Over the years I have received very good service especially with mail order dept.

The jacket is very well made. I ordered an XL as I am broad shouldered and long armed. I find many women’s sportswear items are too narrow and not great for movement in sport. My new jacket will be great for skiing in, but because I’m 5 foot 6 I’m perhaps a bit short and narrow hipped for the cut of this jacket in XL so it’s much longer than my usual look.

I think it’ll look great out on the slopes though and has all the pockets and zippers you need, especially the all important ski pass pocket on the left arm. There’s even a goggle demisting cloth attached inside one of the pockets!.

I cannot lie, I have this jacket in 3 different designs. Along with a couple of Yeti hunter jackets from back in the day. Do i need that many. NO. But they are the most durable, comfortable (and best looking) jackets i’ve ever owned.

I will buy time and time again, can’t recommend enough! Depending on the store im anywhere between an 8-12 and i got a medium for a slightly oversize fit. True to size if not a LITTLE roomy.

Love this jacket, just looks amazing. But the third day out the main kangaroo pocket zipper separated at the stitching. So the build quality is not great but then again it’s not the most expensive thing.

Still you could buy from the big brands at this price point and not have issues like this, you just won’t look as good. Also it’s not warm at all, which for me is great because I “run hot” and warmer jackets just toast me out.

So if you’re willing to forgo the quality of the zippers and don’t need a sleeping bag for a jacket, you’ll be the best looking dude on the mountain.

First about the reviewer: I won’t give 5 stars unless the product was both amazing in quality as proved in use and amazing in pricing at the same time. So three stars is not a bad review on my scale.

I just spent the last couple of days wearing the garment out in rain while in the city. Temperature was in the 50’s and rain was light to moderate, with occasional stronger showers. I was never in a downpour with the jacket, but there were windy times when the rain was moderate but coming sideways, straight at the front.

On that occasion I didn’thave on rain pants and my bottom half was completely soaked, so I had a comparison of how well the jacket worked compared to no jacket, but that’s not a very demanding test (I was drenched from the bottom of the jacket down).

The zipper did not leak. I’ve seen leakage from other allegedly waterproof zippers. Like most other garments of this type, it did allow moisture to build up inside when I perspired from more vigorous exercise; I wasn’t out under the right kind of conditions to find out if it would allow me to dry out from the inside as other breathable jackets have done for me on day hikes.

I had pit zippers open most of the time but zipped up when wind was blowing rain into the openings. Hood adjustments worked the way they’re supposed to, and after being out for an hour or more I came home quite dry inside the jacket.

I had things in the pockets that also stayed dry with the zippers up all the way. The hood adjustments and sleeve Velcro adjustments worked fine and are what you would expect on a garment of this type in this price range.

I previously had a much less expensive outer layer purchased several years ago that leaked around the zipper, which wasn’t waterproof but covered by a Velcro’d flap. So for the considerably higher outlay in cash, I would expect quality performance as far as keeping me dry.

The fit and feel seem like a quality garment, but it’s basically brand new and I have no idea how it will age. I bought an extra-large as I like to have room inside for a lot of layers should the need arise and also to give the jacket room to flap around for ventilation if only wearing with one layer under, as I did earlier today.

That works OK for me for my purposes.

One thing to note is that the Jacket description is mislabeled. This is not a “Soft Shell” jacket, rather it’s a “shell”. Big difference in the material and Sail needs to change it. Having said that, I love this Gore-tex waterproof jacket.

It’s perfect for the rainy weather that we get in Vancouver. It feels great, lots of room to move, is definitely waterproof and looks really sharp. I’ve tried multiple other Arcteryx shell jackets, and I found them to be too bulky, non fitting, so this Beta LT has been my favorite by far.

A couple of things to consider. This new Beta LT version seems lighter and the material feels less thick than the same version I bought 3 years ago. Just an observation, no actual evidence of that. The Beta LT seems to fit much tighter around the hip, so a bit less movement in that area which is something to consider if you’re going to be stretching, long strides, etc.

Overall, such an awesome jacket, very happy with Arcteryx and this Beta LT.

I ended up returning this jacket because I didn’t love it as much as it costs. Technically, it’s got everything you could need (lots of pockets, warmth, snow skirt, soft neck lining) but for the price the style was just not there.

The black faux fur is a bit strange looking and I wish the contrast stripes were more apparent. Also, the hood large enough to go over your helmet seems like a great idea in theory but is just so massive when you don’t have a helmet on.

Very warm. Definitely a good investment for someone whose ski days are primarily in the cold!.

The customer service and delivery of this item was excellent. Given the fact we are in the midst of a pandemic I was updated at every stage. The quality of the coat is amazing and it fits my son like a glove.

This is the first time I have used this company and can safely say I will purchasing many more items.
