Whole grains are an excellent source of fiber, which can help with weight loss by keeping you feeling full and helping to regulate digestion. Additionally, whole grains are a good source of complex carbohydrates and nutrients, which can give you lasting energy and help you avoid cravings for unhealthy snacks.
When choosing whole grains for weight loss, look for varieties that are high in fiber and low in sugar and refined carbohydrates. Examples of good whole grains for weight loss include oats, brown rice, quinoa, and barley.
Total was one of the first health cereals when introduced in 1961, and has provided essential vitamins and minerals to Americans ever since. Today, Total not only continues its legacy of delivering 100% nutrition, its also low in fat while tasting great.
Total toasts its whole grain for crispy good taste in every bowl. Total–be assured youre getting your 100%.
Its a good cereal for the fiber content. Its a fairly healthy cereal. But, I hate the texture. Almost every spoonful has at least one, if not more of flakes with a rock like consistency. It just surprises me.
The cereal as a whole is crunchier than other corn flake versions of this. It doesn’t get soggy. Tastes really good, unless you try to bite down on one of the pesky rocks. I realize that this is sweating the small stuff.
If you have sensitive teeth, then this might be an issue. That is the only reason why I didn’t give it five stars.
The healthy TOTAL breakfast cereal is delicious! I add some fresh fruit like bananas or strawberries or blueberries as a topping so no sugar or artificial sweetener is needed. Walmart’s budget friendly prices for all grocery items make it easy to live a healthy lifestyle.
This is bland. Gotta mix it with something. a little brown sugar, other cereal, or honey. Its a decent cereal but nutty cardboard flavor. may order again, idk

This is a good quality instant oatmeal, with a subtly sweet flavor, and not much added sugar (only 4g) packed with more protein than is typical of regular oatmeals. I love oatmeal and am working out and losing weight after having a baby, but also trying to keep up my milk supply, so I was eager to try this when HMR offered me a free sample, as oatmeal is one of my staples.
The flavor is not overly sweet, but isn’t completely bland like plain oatmeal. The fruit adds a bit of flavor and there is a small amount of added sugar. It’s a larger portion size than my typical oatmeal packets, but the calories are relative to the portion, so unfortunately I’m not ‘saving’ calories here; just swapping my regular oatmeal for a healthier option.
Compared to ‘regular’ oatmeal, this one is much higher in protein (10g compared to my regular 4g) and 11g/15g of sugar occur naturally with only 4g of added sugar, so the macros are better! It’s fine ground, cooks well and evenly in the microwave, and I took the recommendation to add fruit to it and also added ground flax seed.
Very delicious and filling as breakfast, snack, or lunch!.
This was a great product. I really love the flavor, as well as the mixed in varies. It made me feel healthier to have this as opposed to regular oatmeal, and it definitely filled me up better than normal oatmeal in the morning.
I will say that depending on how you cook it sometimes it does come out a little bit more runny or little bit more firm, but either way I really enjoyed this product and I’m definitely try other flavors.
The fruit in this cereal is good. But the cereal itself is so bland, it tastes like cardboard and paste. I added cinnamon sugar and brown sugar, which made it edible, but still very bland. I also was expecting it to look like oatmeal, but it was more runny than oatmeal when following the package directions.

We started having this and the cut oats a couple weeks ago, and it is so worth the time it takes to cook each morning. In fact, budgeting that time is the hardest part of this breakfast prep. 🙂 It’s delicious and very, very good for you, loaded with fiber and protein.
Also, I am very impressed with how long I feel full throughout the morning. If you see this review largely repeated over for the Organic Steel Cut Oats, it’s because they also fall completely in this category.
I plan to keep having both as the focus of our first meal of the day. Highly recommended!.

I am not sure what happened to this brand. It used to be our go-to and then it disappeared for a little while. When we finally found it again, we cooked it according to the package just as we always did.
Except the last two times it has turned out mushy and sticky. kind of like instant oatmeal. Not sure if something in the millet has changed or what. We will try to use less water next time like another reviewer mentioned.
I cooked this in my Instant Pot using 1 cup plus 3 cups water, on high for 2 minutes, then natural release for about 15 minutes. It came out perfect for breakfast cereal, nice and soft and very flavorful, with still a lot of texture.
If I wanted it for something like a pilaf, I would use the same amount of water but decrease the time to 1. 5 minutes, but the texture of this the way I cooked it is extremely better than any other brand I have ever tried.
It had been years since I made millet so I followed the instructions on the bag – using 1 cup of millet and 3 cups of water – and after 25 minutes of cooking, I ended up with a wet, mushy mess. As another reviewer wrote, it was more like cooked grits that you eat for breakfast.
I couldn’t use it with my recipe, so I started over. All of the millet recipes that I saw online said to use 2 cups of water for each cup of millet. I did that and it turned out well. The bag contains just over two cups of dried millet.
I’m rating it only 2 stars because of the faulty instructions.

I LOVE this granola in Dark Chocolate. It’s fairly low in sugar which is a plus. I have to admit I’m a bit of a hoarder. Purchasing this, usually all of them on the shelf, every time i see them. The clusters are good to eat like popcorn.
Although messy when I eat them in bed 😂 The Best part for me is adding the crumbles to my original Cheerios to add a little sweetness. It’s also amazing in yogurt and anything else you can put granola on.

Bob’s Red Mill Organic Buckwheat Flour is ground whole grain buckwheat‚ nothing else! The pyramid-shaped kernels are harvested and ground into surprisingly rich flour with little black specks that come from the ground seed hull.
This is how traditional Buckwheat Flour has been made for hundreds of years. Buckwheat flour contains a significant amount of fiber, and studies have shown that it helps slow down the rate of glucose absorption after a meal.
Buckwheat is also a good source of protein and calcium. Buckwheat has a unique, assertive flavor that is especially great in both quick and yeast breads. You can add a little buckwheat flour to almost any recipe that calls for regular flour.
In wheat bread, use half buckwheat flour to add a rich, earthy and nutlike flavor and darker color. Buckwheat flour is a must-have for making traditional Russian blini, or buckwheat crepes.
Unlike most other grains, this versatile, gluten free grain is alkaline. Millet digests easily and helps balance the body’s natural tendency towards acidity. Millet has a low impact on blood sugar. Each 1/4 cup of this whole grain contains 15% of the recommended daily value of magnesium. Enjoy whole grain millet as a unique alternative to rice in salads and stir-fries.
Cook millet for a sweet breakfast porridge or add uncooked millet to breads for a crunchy texture. Serve millet with a drizzle of olive oil, and a dash of salt and pepper in place of mashed potatoes for a delightful side that will enhance any meal.
Bob’s Red Mill Company has been around awhile. Me too! I felt an urgency for a millet meal and happily found it on Vitacost when I was ordering supplements. For me, millet is versatile and especially soothing for occasional upset stomach.
I use this grain to make hot cereal for breakfast. I add more liquid than is indicated on the package, so the grain is softer when finished cooking – 3 cups instead of 2 cups, cooked for 25 minutes. It’s a great alternative to oatmeal if you do not tolerate oats well.

This bread keeps you full and has a low calorie content. It’s great for toast, sandwiches, French toast, etc. Holds up and doesn’t fall apart even with spreading peanut butter! I like it for avocado toast and anything that highlights the bread as the main topic.
is the best wheat bread I’ve ever had. Makes yummy grilled cheese sandwiches. Tonight for dinner I’m eating this bread with some tomato soup. Goes perfectly together! You can use the bread for anything! I would keep on buying it because it’s delicious.
I use to get “Nature’s Own® 100% Whole Wheat Bread 20 oz” all the time but it seems they are becoming not cost effective due to I consume a lot of this type bread. Since their price has been going up and out of my budget, I started searching for a less expensive brand with the same texture and taste.
I found Walmart’s Great Value “Great Value 100% Whole Wheat Bread, Round Top, 20 oz” to fit that type. It has (basically) the same basic ingredients. Again, If a loft would last a few weeks with me, I would of stayed with “Nature’s Own® 100% Whole Wheat Bread 20 oz”.
Since I do eat a lot of bread, I now look for “Great Value 100% Whole Wheat Bread, Round Top, 20 oz” for which is priced at a down to earth cost. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 stars is due to the price going up.

Ezekiel 4:9 is not a typical breakfast cereal. I choose it because it’s simply sprouted, very hearty whole grains. Because it’s so hearty, I’ve have learned to put less in the bowl and to slow down and fully chew every bite.
I’ve tried three flavors so far. I don’t like the raisin version, since I’d rather add my own fresher, softer raisins. I like the almond best. To it I add additional sliced almonds, also shaved coconut and diced date pieces.
I eat this cereal because it is good for my health. It tastes awful so I don’t overeat breakfast. The outer box is flimsiest cardboard which is [I guess cheaper] and more sustainable, but usually arrives slightly crushed at the corners.
The box–I haven’t tried it, but I’ll bet that the box tastes better than the cereal. Now to the cereal itself: the grains are very, very tiny; the picture on the box must be a very tiny spoon, because it makes the cereal grains look much larger relative to the spoon, than it really is.
Poorly designed packaging ensures that the tiny grained cereal pours out around, outside the bowl as well as into the bowl. I took a chance and ordered a case of Ezekiel 4:9 containing all 3 “flavors”.
I am [slowly] working my way through the flavors. “Food for Life” touts Ezekiel 4:9 for its “flavor”. False advertising!.
A good natural breakfast cereal that has none of the nasties you usually find in the usual supermarket cereals. Don’t put too much in a bowl as it is very filling. I dont use sugar, as I don’t like it in c e reals or hot drinks and this can be topped up with berries or a banana for natural sweeter.
Crunchy like a cross between granola and grape nuts cereals. It can be used with milk or plant milks (almond milk is really nice with it). It can be hard to get used to if you are not used to really crunchy cereal.
Can be eaten hot or cold so it’s an all year around cereal.

The price was good, non-gmo ingredients, sounds awesome! Mia loves chicken and Leo is ok with chicken. First day I tried giving them this food they just kept turning away, they ate some food but not a single time for almost a week now have finished a whole serving.
Mia almost did. Leo eats half at most with me even hand feeding him multiple times through out the day till he just refuses. I even cut out their treats before this food so they can rely on this for calories.
Previously they were on raw, which is why I couldn’t slowly introduce it to them easily. Though it shouldnt be this bad to where Leo starved himself for a day. Thankfully Chewy support amazing as always gave me a refund.
We had been ordering this food due to our yorkie having allergies. She would eat this brand with less side effects with all her allergies. Our lovely fido passed away a little over a year ago. Since then we were trying other brands of food for our remaining yorkie.
She started eating less and we could tell she was not happy with any of the food. Just started getting the Nutro again and she has drastically changed her demeanor and loves eating again. This was great news for us.
The only problem is that we cannot find the Nutro LIG lamb and sweet potato small bites in a smaller size than 22 lbs. She is only 5 lbs and the food would be outdated before she could eat all of it.
Great puppy food! It’s super hard to find dog food that doesn’t have junk in it. This was the only puppy food under 80$ that I could find that didn’t have taurine in it and other harmful ingredients.
And I want to write that I’ve noticed all of the Blue brand food I looked at has GARLIC as an ingredient which feeding your dog garlic over long periods of time will cause significant health issues and a shorter life span.
Please look at the ingredients in what food you chose for your dogs. I lost my precious ESA dog at 7 years old because of dog food that was “ high quality ingredients “ and I decided to trust the brand and it was too late to re-inform myself about Ingredients in dog food.
Please do the research. But this is a good affordable puppy food.

This is some heavy bread that doesn’t really taste too heavy, but it is. I can pronounce every ingredient which I like. One slice toasted, cut in two halves is nearly a breakfast meal in and of itself.
I’m not a fan of it fresh as it’s awfully rough. I jest that you can sand wood with it, or cleanse your colon with all of the roughage in it. This is great bread. Honestly, it’s some of my favorite bread.
I buy this double pack, place a folded paper towel in each loaf, then freeze. I pull out a slice or two as needed and it lasts me quite a while this way. The price is fabulous compared to what a single, smaller loaf costs in other grocery stores.
Great bread at a great price, and with pure ingredients, I can’t imagine that it’s too bad for you!.
Even eating a bacon grilled cheese, this bread is extremely too sweet. I guess it’s good for sweets lovers, but I would never buy this again. If you want all your bread to taste like sweet rolls, then this is the bread for you.
According to the label it’s 9% of your daily sugar for one slice. It tastes disgusting. My bad for buying it in bulk.
This is insanely GOOD bread! It isn’t cheap though. At nearly $6 a loaf you must refrigerate it if you don’t eat a loaf in a day or two as there are NO PRESERVATIVES! You won’t want it to go all moldy at that price.
It is covered in the various seeds and grains that make it so healthy. For once, I feel satisfied after eating a sandwich as it is like the old grains that use to be in our bread instead of this mutant wheat they use today that fills up no one’s belly! I just wish it was more in our price range as that’s a lot of money for our family for just a small loaf of bread.
Post Bran Flakes is a wholesome cereal that the whole family will enjoy. Bran Flakes is made with whole grain wheat and wheat bran for great taste and each serving is an excellent source of fiber, 5g per serving, and provides 13vitamins and minerals.

bought this for my brother-in-law, he loves this cereal and like everyone else could not find it in the stores so was happy to surprise him. Price was a little high and will be a one time favor for him, he can pay it if he really wants it, don’t know why the stores stopped caring it looks like a lot of people want it.
Have been looking for my cereal since the virus started last year. Was finally able to find it and am very pleased with my order. Came very quickly and I will order again.
This is one of my favorite cereals. Sure there are sugary cereals that I always wanted as a kid, but this is what my father raised me on. Cut up some bananas and throw some honey on these and boom, the best breakfast ever!.
