I absolutely love my new flat iron that also allows for the ease of doing my hair while it’s wet. What a time saver it has been for me going to Nursing school & Work! The quality is excellent. It has air holes allowing it to vent and express steam and dry your hair while it is wet or damp.

I set it at 300 temperature and it takes 10 seconds to heat up so it’s ready to start straightening right away. However it does take a bit for it to cool down. The iron is a great size for those of us that small irons aren’t enough.

You can take a whole big section and it flattens easily and looks great. So bigger sections also allow for getting done a lot quicker. No need to take small sections to get a great look. I love the 360 swivel of the cord that keeps it from getting tangled so easily and creating a short life for the iron.

You can use both hands without constantly trying to move the cord out of the way. I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great innovative flat iron that’s efficient, great design and creates great styles.

I love this straightener! I’m used to using more expensive brands, but decided to give it a go bc of the damp hair feature. My hair doesn’t get stuck in it like others, it glides over my damp or dry hair smoothly, it leaves my hair very straight (I know that sounds silly, but some do not get hot enough to smooth my naturally wavy hair as well).

The only reason I took off a star is sometimes it locks randomly and I have to move the unlock button. It doesn’t lock while on my hair by the way just sometimes right after I straighten a piece and pull it away it can lock (maybe the angel or I accidentally press it?) but definitely doesn’t bother me enough not to use it.

It’s affordable too so even if it only lasts a year it’s steal a good buy!.

This Remington Pro Wet2Style Flat Iron is an upgrade from the older model. I love that there are vents to take the water out of your hair while you straighten and a big enough plate to get bigger chunks, the less time I spend trying to fix my hair the better.

The color of the device itself looks almost dusty pink and the buttons are on the side! It gets up to 450° but I would never push it that far and risk frying my hair. It doesn’t take long to heat up and I only have to do 2 passes through each section for it to be nice and straightened.

I use it on 80% dry hair and I have no issues with my hair not straightening or drying properly. It honestly helps when you don’t have a lot of time but need your hair to look good. Lastly, the device feels of great and quality material and I look forward to continue use with incorporating it into my daily routine!.

The iron works ok, but NOWHERE on the box does it say Wet to Dry. This is a huge concern for me as I wanted a wet to dry iron only. After inspecting every single text written on the box, which said Premium Flat Iron, I finally wrote to Croc with this concern.

Then they wrote back giving me a work assignment. They asked me to take pictures and send them. Unacceptable!!! If the product is marketed as wet to dry, the box should mention this CLEARLY. I received this Premium Flat Iron in a shipping box that was taped so poorly from both ends that it had opened.

When the UPS guy delivered it, he had to prevent the brushes and box of iron slipping out. Shame. When a customer buys your products, as I did, they expect that your QC department makes sure the product being shipped is correct, and the outer box is perfectly closed and taped.

The fact that I purchased, then paid, then had to reach out to bring these concerns to your attention, and then your customer service gave me homework instead of checking their shipping logs, etc. is simply unacceptable.

Get your act together and invest in a box that clearly states Wet to Dry Premium Flat Iron.

I like this flat iron better than my Chi. It ranks up there with one of the best I’ve owned. My only hesitation to rank this as number one is that my hair is not left with a nice shine. It does a great job straightening.

Not perfect, but very good. Just wish I had more shine. I’ll have to buy a glossing hair product if I want to add shine and moisture back to my hair.

Best flat iron ever! Only problem is they aren’t very durable. Don’t drop it, it will break. Or it will just quit heating for no obvious teason. But when it does works, it works great! I just wish they would consider making them more durable so they lasted longer! I’ve never had one last longer than 2 years.

There is nothing special about this flat iron, got this on sell and it, unfortunately, still is not worth the price. However, the shipping was amazing and on time, which I love. But, I wish it went more specifically into more heat ranges.

Like 370 to 390 to 400 to 410 and not to just 370 to 450. The burning point of our hair is 420 so 450 simply is impractical. I went as slow as I could and my hair looked blown out and I did not like the way my hair felt, disappointed.

Best straightener ever! Price point is so good. ESP considering it comes with a dust bag, hair clips, and a heat resistant glove! I love that you can choose the exact temp you want. I have fine hair that I bleach regularly, so I keep at around 285-300.

It smooths my hair beautifully and makes it so soft! I use a little coconut oil on the ends before straightening and it’s perfect. It heats up super quick and somehow doesn’t make any weird kinks when I use it, even on my bangs! I highly recommend this!.

This straightener is so good! Digital screen lets you see the exact heat setting. The dial to the change the heat setting can be a little hard to get to the exact temp you want, but it gets easier as you use it.

The argan oil-infused plates make your hair skinny and soft. It doesn’t pull on your hair either! Also, the cord is super long which is nice for those places that the plug in isn’t conveniently located by a mirror.

This was a great gift! I bought it for my wife after she hinted a few times. We got to use it the same day with her and my daughters hair. I asked her how she liked it and well the response was better than I imagined.

Babyliss makes THE best straighteners! I have one that I have had for over 7 years and it is still going strong! They have super long cords which I’m sure hair stylists love and they stay hot even with constant use! I just purchased the wider iron in the hopes of covering more hair saving time! They aren’t cheap, but they are worth the money when you don’t have to buy a new one every couple of years.

I wish they locked flat for easier transport though. Would pay a few extra $$ for that feature.

Horrible!! I have medium-thick curly hair and this is trash! I’m shocked they have good reviews. I have to straighten over the same pieces multiple times and I think mines broken because it continuously shuts off every 30seconds-1min.

This long 1/2 inch is not even close to as good as the mini short 1/2 inch flat iron. I’m very disappointed that it does not straighten the hair like the short iron. I feel like I wasted my money. I was ultimately unhappy with this flat-iron, but it may be because of my type of hair. I have very thick long hair and it took a very long time to straighten with this flat-iron because the plates are short.

I also didn’t like that the temperature dial was imprecise because I like to keep the heat on the lower side to avoid hair damage. This flat-iron was recommended to me by my hairstylist, but I wasn’t happy with it and decided to return it.

If your hair is shorter and/or not that thick, you may like it better than I did.

I searched for years to find a great affordable straightener for my thick, curly, unruly hair! This by far has been the best I’ve gotten my hands on so far. I love that you can use on damp hair as well as dry hair.

Sometimes you need some extra products and they do dampen your hair so being able to use this and feeling like I wasn’t doing too much damage. Plus extra bonus. the plates aren’t extended so far that you burn your scalp, ouch! With this tool I’m able to get close enough without burning myself.

Absolutely love it and definitely do recommend if you’re looking to tame your hair. Perfect for beginners as it has a heat setting dial as well.

I bought this because I was looking for an alternative to the multiple layers of heat required by the keratin treatment. Keratin treatment not only requires blow drying before I put the treatment, but because the liquid itself makes the hair feel a bit damp, I would need to dry again a bit more to avoid the horrendous damage that comes with flat ironing damp hair, especially at the keratin-requested temperature of 450 degrees! Yes, I have thick frizzy hair.

So i decided to skip the entire blow drying, air-dry it instead, put the treatment and go straight for this wet to dry iron. I fell in love!!! First the steaming holes facilitated the steam-release that the keratin naturally requires.

Second, it did not require more pass through than my usual iron on already blow-dried hair. Third the fact that it did not reach 450 degrees did not minimize the results; in fact the results were better than I’ve ever had !!!! It was straighter, suppler and shinier than it ever was with my previous much more expensive high heat flat iron!!! Before my hair would show friz on the second day, even after paying over $100 for a professional to do my keratin treatment! But not this time.

My hair felt and looked healthier, in fact someone literally asked me if it was a wig, it looked so good it seemed fake. Also, before there was a white film on my hair after the first treatment, making the hair feel stiff, a bit sticky and dull; but with the Remington, that wasn’t the case: it was soft, with movement and shine; 2 dropps ofmy usual combing dry oil and I did not feel the need to wash my hair the day after the treatment; instead, waited aa week and i could have waited longer- it looked fabulous throughout.

I’ve been treating my hair for almost 10 years, this is the best post keratin results i have ever experienced, and it is all thanks to the Remington. I believe these steam holes are the best things to happen to a keratin treatment.

Love it, love it! As for the technical part: delivery was on time, and i love the fact the blinking light has a specific color to let you know when to use on damp hair, and when to use on dry hair. Make sure you follow the indication; online has a quick, very short and straightforward instruction manual, it is worth the 2 minutes of read.

That indicator became helpful when i wanted to do a touch up. I’m actually going to also buy the larger one; I’m never buying another iron, THIS IS IT.

Best flat iron ever!! I’ve had a few through the years. I didn’t think one brand could really be different from another, but I was wrong! This “wet to dry” one really takes any residual moisture out of your hair and keeps it from frizzing or curling up after using.

NOTE. I do not use it on wet hair. I do use a hair dryer to dry it, and it’s usually frizzy, curly and wild after I do. However, this Remington works a nice smooth, flat miracle on it. The plates come together nicely, no gaps.

Closing and using the flat iron is very easy on my arthritic hands. Very happy!.

The Babyliss Pro nano Titanium Blue Flat Iron, 1. 5″ like any Babyliss product is a high quality flat iron. While the 1. 5″ does seem wide (I’m not always sure I can reach the top of the root of my hair), this flat iron for sure gets the job done quickly.

The ability to change the heat is great! While the flat iron is “wet to dry capable” I’m not sure I would recommend using this product on truly wet hair, as locking in moisture through an iron is not the best idea.

As a regular flat iron on DRY hair, I would certainly recommend.

I had the origional remington wet2straight years ago, I have fine frizzy thick hair, and the wet2straight is the only thing that tames my hair without extensive damage. If I use a hairdryer my hair is rough and frizzy and i can’t brush it without ripping my hair so using a hairdryer and separate straightener is a no go for me.

So anyway, the origional remington wide plate wet2straight was discontinued. I bought the new uk version but its only avalible to buy in uk as the normal width not wide plate, it’s OK but as my hair is long it takes forever and not as sleek as a wide plate.

So I couldn’t believe it when I actually found the new style wet2straight in a wide plate, hooraaay!!!!! It dries straightens and tames my unrully hair, am so thrilled I found it, as it’s not avalible to buy in uk, I bought it from elsewhere in eu and I bought an eu to uk plug adapter and it works fine, I am so happy It dries and straightens whole head of hair, then when I finish using it I just hold my head down for about 30 seconds and give my roots a quick blast with hairdryer, just to make sure roots are fully dry.

I think I’m going to really like this. Have only used once so far – and there will be a short learning curve for me to dry everything in the right direction. Had my doubts as I started, but hair came out really soft and smoothed.

Unsure it will entirely replace the flat iron for some (hence 4-stars), but it will def. cut down the time. I have very thin straight hair to begin with, but going gray, so hair is now textured & looks frizzy.

This did a good job smoothing most of it out. Hair looked fabulous the next morning & did not need the flat iron. I don’t think the titanium plates themselves have a heating element – I believe it’s the hot air that heats the plates – but do get very hot.

It does pull as some have said, but lift up slightly on the handle towards your ends & pulling will minimize. Not gifted – bought myself, and I think it’s going to be a keeper.

I am a Drybar nut when it comes to their tools! I have so many, and honestly did not need another dryer or straightener. However, I ordered it anyway and love it! I have fine naturally wavy hair, and I like to wear it straight.

My biggest complaint about my hair is it frizzes in humid weather and in the south, that’s about 10 months out of the year. This was easy to use. I would recommend slightly drying your hair with your blow dryer first, or let it air dry for a bit, then use it.

I wouldn’t use it on soaking wet hair, I think it would take a long time to get it dry that way. But for a finishing and styling tool on slightly damp hair – works fantastic! My hair looked like I left the salon!.

Gifted by Drybar and after trying it, I would not recommend it. I have 3b curly hair and this item left my hair very frizzy. I put on my heat protectant, and everything. usually do to take care of my hair before applying heat.

I sectioned my hair off and only did one part. My hairs were getting ripped off by the flat iron too. I think this would work with people with straight hair or thin wavy hair. It also gives no volume or shape to your hair.

So only if you want a very straight look. Hope this helped.

I bought this hair straightener years ago (2011) and it had lasted me until 2019. So, based on my previous experience with the quality, I decided to purchase it again. Which, it is nowhere near the same from what it used to be.

Not only is the color a darker shade of purple now, which I hate because the previous version was a pretty cross between pink and purple, but it also has an unpleasant/burning smell. Not to mention, the plates don’t feel as smooth on my hair as they did with the previous version.

Personally, I think they produced good quality straighteners to build their reputation at first, but now that they have so many 5 star reviews, have scaled back on the quality to maximize profits. Idk.

Just super disappointed because they would have had a customer in me for life if they would have just left it the way it was :/.

I’ve used this same flat iron for about 5 years and I absolutely love it. It doesn’t fry your hair. The heat is distributed evenly. I try not to go over a patch of hair more than once because heat is damaging to permed hair regardless.

I set it on the 25 heat setting (it has up to 30), and I straighten small separations of hair by gliding the iron from root to ends slowly. Always leave my strands nice and silky. Heats up fairly quick.

Very affordable. Light-weight and convenient for travel also. It goes everywhere with me! Mine looks a bit dirty but that’s expected because it’s mostly white, with pink accent color. Conair never fails me! I’ve used many of their styling tools since 2005 to now.

I was going back and forth between a Conair and a Remington flat iron. I kept reading the reviews and comparing the prices. At first glance it seemed like the Remington had more reviews but the prices were higher and the one I was interested in was never in stock so I decided to take a chance and purchase this Conair Infinity iron.

I am very glad I gave it a chance. First, I love the size. It is 1. 5 inches where the Remington one I wanted only came in 1 or 2 inch sizes. I have long, thick, wavy, and basically, very unruly/frizzy hair.

I’ve always had trouble even with some pro brand irons (ie. BedHead), getting hot enough to actually straighten my hair. This one gets really hot, super fast, and has a heat setting that goes up to 455 degrees.

That’s the setting I’ve used and it’s been fantastic. I can’t believe how easily it straightens my hair. The floating plates glide so smoothly with no snagging and I don’t have to go over a section of my hair more than once or twice at the most.

(I do use a straightening cream (Lor`eal) and a heat protectant spray (Organix) before I use the flat iron, so these products probably help) While I am sure the Remington irons are good, I am extremely pleased with this Conair flat iron and don’t for a minute regret my purchase.

I would highly recommend it to anyone, especially those with thicker/course hair, because it gets hotter than most other flat irons and it just works as well or better than professional brands and at a fraction of the cost.

I’ve been on the search for a really good straightener. I have a kourtney kardashian haircut (long before she cut it) lol I have really thick wavy hair. So when I first cut it, I noticed my hairdresser would use a blue straightener and I always loved how it left my hair, silky soft and really straight.

I always struggled with going in and straightening each part a couple of times previously with my own straighteners in the past. So I noticed it was babyliss, but didn’t know which one. I also recommended my coworkers to my hairdresser, and we all talked about how silky that straightener left our hair.

So I asked him and he only told me it was the pro babyliss. I got really tired of how fried my straightener would leave my ends from running it over my hair a couple times to get it straight. Difference is, it didn’t leave it silky soft.

And I would have to use it on high heat, because my hair is so thick. I said f-this, I need to find that straightener, I like taking care of my skin and hair, I buy expensive products, but was not happy with my straightener choices.

I just remember it was a babyliss pro, blue, skinny. I found this one. I read good and bad reviews, so I was scared. I thought why would anyone hate this straightener if it’s the one he used, maybe it’s not this one.

I couldn’t find anything else, so I got it. Giiiirl! Oh! Let me add I moved out of state, so I couldn’t make sure with my hairdresser, I texted my previous coworkers, and said, I found the straightener!!! We were all excited.

I don’t have to put it on max heat, most of the sections are left silky straight with one run, if not two. I do my hair so fast now. It used to take me about 35 min because I have a lot of hair and it’s thick.

Now it takes me between 15-20 min. I still don’t understand the bad reviews. That’s crazy to me. This is the best straightener I’ve ever purchased. It’s the least damaging as well. I hate crusty ends so I always trim the ends.

I had such high hopes. I have thick curly hair in the 3c-4a range and the flat iron just could not give me that bone straight result. I tried sections of all sizes and thicknesses and the result was not better.

It heats up quickly this is true and impressive but something about the plates just was not compatible with my hair texture. I have a conair that is ceramic and that gave me a much smoother and silky end result when it was at its peak performance.

It’s a very expensive item and I would expect a at home silk press result and I definitely got more of a blow dried straight look. Wouldn’t recommend to the curly girls out there!.

The best thing since sliced bread! I love this flat iron. It cost a pretty penny but it was worth every one of them. My hair is thin, kind of course and wavy. I usually have to do an unhealthy number of passes to get my hair straight with other flat irons but not with this one.

One to two passes is all it takes and my hair is hair salon straight. I love the wide range of heat temperatures and the thin light weight design. The only drawback is that the on/off button is on the side and can get flipped off by accident.

It’s not a major issue because it heats up so fast, you are back in action in no time. 10 out of 10 I definitely recommend!!!.

First off I’m in love! This is my second best straightener! Ive always had trouble finding a good straightener for my curly bushy hair. It literally gets like a lions mane. But it doesn’t take as long plus it makes my hair silky smooth.

I absolutely love this. I have a severe chronic pain condition that unfortunately leaves me bed ridden and out of energy most of the time. This has been a game changer. I can sit in bed and straighten my hair while it is still wet.

As long as I spray or lately I have used creams on my hair that are a heat protector it’s perfect. I actually own 2 just in case 1 breaks.

LIKES: First let me say that this product as lasted 2 years and shows no signs of faultiness! I LOVE that it has a digital read-out AND that it beeps when it is finished heating up, so I can multi-task while waiting.

It heats up pretty quickly too. Automatic shut off is nice. My hair is long, straight (with creases from pony-tails) and a cross between medium and fine, so I like the wider plates because it straightens more hair at one time (gets job done quicker).

Got at the same time as a T3 single pass. The T3 still smooths hair after over 3 years. This Croc was more at the time, so I’m a bit disappointed that the cheaper T3 outperforms the Croc. I do not like the way it looks, I think that’s why I always passed on it since I first saw it in 08.

I finally came around because of the good reviews. After 2nd year it starts to take more passes to flatten and it still looks like you obviously used a flat iron because it the ends are not smooth. A lot of damage is caused by repeatedly going over, so if you don’t want to go over more than once then you’ll end up with your hair a little fluffier than sleek.

Would I buy it again, no. Too hefty and it took some getting used to. I’d rather stick to something more traditional and lighter/slimmer. And I’d also want something that will leave the hair smooth without going over so many times.

I’ve always used babybliss or chi. I tried this after mine died. Instantly wasn’t straightening my coarse thick hair. It was leaving it straight but frizzy. Then I realized only one plate was heating.

I had only used it a handful of times. Croc does not have a line to call in to. You have to email them. I then had to pay shipping send it in. 3. 5 weeks later they’re messaging me saying “our technicians found the issue was product build up not a manufacturer problem”.

I do not use hair product and if I had I still only used it a couple times. I tried telling them that I don’t use product and they responded with information on device care for people who over use product.

Even though I replied telling them I do not use product. It was as if they were calling me a liar. Then said If I paid shipping back they would do a one time courtesy replacement even though “it was my fault”.

I went to talk with them about their poor customer service and they said “we have a very transparent policy”. 10/10 would not recommend.

I have had this straightener for 3 years and have had no issues until today. I decided to straighten my hair and dropped it in the sink. Which was barely a foot drop, and it broke. One whole side of the straightener detached.

Yeah that’s right. DETACHED. I don’t know if I can get a replacement but I hope so because I’ve loved this straightener and I’m very upset that this happened considering how expensive it was.

I’ve owned dozens of flat irons at this point, but am still on the hunt for that *perfect* one. This isn’t it, but it’s pretty awesome. I use this primarily for creating curls and waves. The PROS: I love that the barrel is longer than the standard flat iron, which is great for people with long hair like me.

It heats up quickly and evenly. It seems to cause minimal damage and my curls/waves last way longer than with a ceramic flat iron. It’s very light and easy to maneuver. The silver titanium plates are easy to clean.

When hair products build up, it can easily be wiped off with a cloth. The CONS: The dial heat control is old-school/outdated. A hair appliance at this price point should have a digital display. You also can’t select/see the temperatures on the dial; it instead goes by numbers 1-45 (I think) and you have to guess what temperature you’re using.

The ON/OFF switch is in an awkward spot and more than once, I have accidentally hit the button while styling my hair. This is a good flat iron overall.

First don’t get this if you want to curl your hair with it. It’s definitely not for that but if you’re like me and don’t want to do that, it’s amazing. Today I have to bare farewell to mine as it finally bit the dust.

😭 I’m 22 now and my mom gave it to me in middle school, probably 8th grade. It has moved away to college with me, gone across the country on trips, and survived me. It was my first straighter and was never outdone by any other I had tried.

I never had to turn it up high as it worked just perfectly on medium heat. I cannot express enough how much I love mine and how long it lasted. Almost a decade, which like I stated above, went with me everywhere.

I 100% recommend this.

I’ve legit bought 2 other hair straighteners in the last month, and I don’t know if I’m just super picky but I wasn’t loving how my hair looked after using them. this FHI Heat curve pro is a GAME CHANGER!!! I have medium thick hair and medium/long length & aside from getting my hair done at the salon, my hair has never looked better!! This is a holy grail item for me! The first one I got lasted me almost 10 years and for a flat iron under $20 to not only last that long but give incredibly smooth, shiny hair until it finally quit working says ALOT! I have since replaced with 2 (gotta have a back up in case they stop making it) and it works just as well as the first.

There is nothing negative I can say about this straightener. Seriously nothing. My husband and i started dating a little over 5 years ago and after spending night with him a few times,he bought me this to keep at his house.

I had a fifty dollar straightener at my home. He spent 16. 00 on this one at Walmart. It was sweet but I wasn’t putting much faith in it. Well wasn’t i wrong? This works perfectly, almost 5 years later it still works as good as when he got it for me and it’s the only straightener i have (my more expensive one died along the way).

It’s a 1inch flat ceramic iron that has an adjustable wheel to turn heat to your liking. It’s not in degrees but sequential numbers and idk if there is a key that tells what each number translates to in degrees but you learn what works for you wear so I never think about itm I know it gets seriously hot if you turn it all the way up and i can’t imagine running it thru my hair at that temp.

It straightens perfectly. With heat protector and product to keep my straight hair in place, I start with small chunks and slowly slide it thru my hair and I’m left with beautiful sleek hair that holds it’s look too.

It has on off switch to turn it off or it can be unplugged but if you leave your house and can’t remember, it will turn itself off after so long of not being used and five years later all the features still work.

No it’s not fancy, it’s basic but if you are like me and just use it to straighten your hair and don’t need any extras then get this inexpensive jewel.

I was so excited to finally get to try one of the infamous Dyson hair styling tools! The Dyson Corrale is a flat iron that has the option to be used without a cord and is also rechargeable. The Corrale has a maximum temperature of 410 degrees.

I have naturally curly 3c/4a hair that’s thick and mid length. I washed and blow dried my hair first and then used the Dyson Corrale to finish off my look. Pros: * cordless option – great because you don’t have to worry about the cord getting in the way when using and it can be convenient when on the go * leaves hair shiny and sleek – I have black hair which can sometimes look dull if not styled properly and the Dyson gave my finished look sleekness and with a nice sheen * works great on thicker and curly textured hair – sometimes larger brand products aren’t geared towards hair types that some ethic groups have but the Dyson worked great on my thick, course hair which is natural with no chemical straighter.

* charge is decent – I was able to straighten roughly 90% of my hair off of a full charge which was about 35 minutes. * digital display makes it easy to know the status of your iron’s charge levels and temperature * stand and carrying case come with the iron – the stand is very convenient when using the iron to style Cons: * heavier than the average flat iron – while it wasn’t an issue for me just know the iron does have some weight to it.

If part of the wonder of this iron is its ability to be cordless, I’d expect at least an hour. *could be difficult to travel with via plane – while the Dyson has a airplane mode feature, you must remember to set it to that mode and for international travel, some countries such as Japan wouldn’t allow you to travel in or out the country by plane due to the battery * Price! – while the Dyson Corrale did everything it promised and is a great flat iron, I’m not sure if I would say it’s worthy of a $500 price tag.

I could understand up to $300 for its rechargeable uniqueness but other than that feature, I could get the same results with a much cheaper flat iron.

It’s crazy to me to see so many negative reviews, but reading several gave me some insight into how I’d like to break down my own review: First, I have short, mostly gray (wirey) hair. I use IGK brand hair products, in addition to occasional use of the Dyson straightener.

I’ve never had universally considered “good” hair: it’s thin, frizzy, can take 6 hours to air dry, is brittle, and only grows out to my shoulders before it starts falling out like crazy—seemingly genetic as all women on my mom’s side have the same issue.

I balked at the price of this. I bought a BNY brand little mini ceramic hair straightener 7 years ago for $200 and instantly regretted that purchase. But it lasted 7 years! The problem was: I didn’t realize it was terrible until I bought this Dyson.

My hair is so smooth, no flyaways, and it actually holds its style—whether I curl or just straighten with this)!! I’ve literally never achieved that with any other heat tool (even leaving the hair stylist’s, within 30 minutes my hair is frizzy and I get the big waves right around my face which I hate on me).

While using this, I haven’t had to touch-up my style at all throughout the day—it holds beautifully. The downsides are absolutely the price, and I do wish it held a charge longer. BUT I did my hair and 2/3 of my kids’ with one charge, totaling roughly 50 minutes of use yesterday on a 3/4 full battery.

With my short hair, I can get roughly 4 days of use before I need to charge my straightener. Next, I agree that it is heavy. I’m very strong and have no issue, but my oldest daughter struggled with it after just two sections of hair.

If this lasts as long as the little $200 crappy straightener I had, I’ll be happy. But one of the biggest selling features to me was the ability to use it wirelessly, and if the battery depletes to a point where it’s wireless use is defunct, I’ll likely regret this purchase….

Great product. Lots of positives, small amounts of negatives that Dyson has still not sorted. Positives: straightens my thick candy floss/nylon hair mixed heritage long hair into a chic straight style with lots and lots of shine.

It does it quite quickly with only a few passes. I do need more than one pass for my hair. The shape of it means that I do not have frizzy rat tail ends to my hair as I can shape them under – something that just did not work with my old straighteners by a well-known brand.

My hair never feels scorched or gets a burning smell that I got with my old straighteners. My hair is down my back but I can still do it within 30 – 40 mins. It gets right up to the root and it does not leave any ridges.

It’s easy to understand how to use – once you’ve figured out that you need to take out the Flight Mode Button and turn it the opposite way – lining the green House icon up with the green arrow – and put it back in.

The flight mode feature allows you in theory to take it in your hand luggage (but they advise that you still check with your Airline). The good news is that on these latest models, they have made the Flight Mode button so that you remove and put back in, in reverse– whereas in the old one, you just pulled it out and left it hanging out, which was crazy as it was destined to get broken off.

It charges up pretty quickly. It has three heat settings meaning that my mum with her much thinner hair in her 70s can use it but I can also use it on my very, thick long hair. And of course, it can be used cordless (but let’s come back to that bit).

Abby Horne does a superb job of demonstrating this excellent product and what she tells you is the truth – it’s a game changer. I no longer have to go to the Hairdressers for expensive blow-dries. I also own a Dyson hairdryer.

The two together cost about the same as my second hand car. It’s a considered purchase and one I do not regret. The instalment plans and 60 day return, if you are unhappy, really is as good as you get.

At first, as they are different from your standard straighteners and dryers, you might think you cannot handle them. Keep going for at least 2 weeks. You will then never turn back! Negatives: 1) It’s nice that it’s cordless for freedom of styling in the home but it’s heavy and big and they still haven’t sorted that out.

So, in reality, it’s not something you would really want to carry with you unless absolutely necessary. 2) For those with thick, long hair, straightening it means that the battery runs out before you’ve finished so you end up putting it back In the dock to charge for quite a while.

I’ve tried putting the cord on when it starts to sound its beep that the battery is low but it carries on beeping even with the cord in and more importantly struggles to keep the straightener charged.

It’s not broken – a relative has the same one and the same challenge. My tip: keep the cord in right at the start whilst it is fully charged and it seems to keep its charge better that way. I’ve still not solved the problem though.

3) I’ve watched beautiful curls being created by Abby and the models on QVC and YouTube but no matter how hard I try, I cannot create them with this straightener. My mixed heritage hair does not slip through traditional straighteners and I think that might be the issue.

I think my mixed heritage hair does not need the corrale part of the plates fitting so closely together. I cannot pull the product down the hair – it will not slide – so I cannot create the ribbon-like curls that sadly everyone else can.

This is the one thing that Abby hasn’t yet covered in her superb presentation – ABBY – HOW CAN I GET IT TO SLIDE TO CREATE CURLS IN MY MIXED RACE HAIR? I DON’T HAVE INSTAGRAM! MANY THANKS It was also difficult to register the product for its guarantee with Dyson online and we had to telephone them in the end, to do so.

We downloaded the manual for the straightener and looked for the registration information – that gave a Dyson website address based in India. We visited that website and put in the serial number but it said it was ‘invalid’.

We then looked on Google for the registration website and found one. We put in the serial number but it wouldn’t accept it. Luckily we had a telephone number for Dyson customer service and the lady took the serial number and registered it.

We got a confirmation email OK. Overall, a must gadget. A considered purchase but over time, it pays for itself through the vastly reduced visits to the hairdressers. Finally, we can all create our best looks, at home!.
