Western adventure from the director of The Wild Bunch! Brian Keith (Family Affair) stars in The Westerner, the 1960 television series created by the legendary director and screenwriter Sam Peckinpah (Straw Dogs, Pat Garrett and Billy The Kid.
) Keith plays the drifter Dave Blassingame, a congenial cowhand who’s as good with a gun as he is with the ladies. Along with his faithful dog, Brown, Blassingame wanders the West, finding adventure and excitement along the way.
Although short-lived in its original run, The Westerner was critically acclaimed, and represents an excellent opportunity for discerning Western fans to witness some of Peckinpah’s early work in the genre.
Sixteen episodes are all we have of what critics call the best ever, a western series produced, written, & directed by the great Sam Peckinpaw. Brian Keith starred as a wandering cowboy, his only companion a large scruffy dog, who righted wrongs & thrilled the ladies.
Great actors flocked the series & a chance to work with Peckinpaw. The critics loved the pilot & first episodes. Sponsors lined up. What went wrong?? NBC placed the series opposite “The Flintstones” & refused to move it.
Rerun networks don’t show such short series, so we don’t get to see it, like “Dirty Sally”, a spinoff of Gunsmoke lasting 13 episodes on CBS for similar reasons. Anybody who has copies if this series, please make them available!!! If you see a copy of The Westerner, Buy it while you can!!.
Brian Keith was an excellent actor for that era and I remember watching this as a boy but it wasnt on long and thats a tragedy. ! But Im so glad to get these few episodes. entertaining and engaging for sure.
Brian Keith is a good actor, but the plots leave something to be desired. They are bland. The westerner drifts in and out of different situations usually all causing him some problems. Each episode ends suddenly before you expect that it should.
What a real steal. You can’t beat this deal. An awesome action packed western dvd set. It Features some of the best cowboys. Randolph Scott, Joel McCrea, Audie Murphy, Alan Ladd, Macdonald Carey, and Maureen O’Hara are my favorite western stars.
I enjoyed every movie. I highly recommend this product. You will enjoy it.
Journey back to the wild Western frontier of 19th century America, where the country’s safety lies in the hands of the very first Secret Service agents. Ladies’ man James West (Robert Conrad) and his clever sidekick Artemus Gordon (Ross Martin) serve President Ulysses S.
Grant, tracking criminal masterminds across the rugged countryside – always ready to jump into action at a moment’s notice. Long before the days of high-speed car chases and complex computer hacking, these two daredevils race from coast to coast in a plush railroad car, armed with ingenious disguises, inventive gadgets, deadly weaponry – as well as their quick wits – to take down America’s most-wanted criminals.
Catch all the high-flying, gun-slinging action with all four seasons of The Wild Wild West, captured in this 26-disc collection!.
Wild Wild West is so entertaining and fun. It is my favorite TV show of all time. The stories aren’t typical westerns. They are ghost stories, murder mysteries and great science fiction. Some of the best writing ever.
And Robert Conrad was wonderful as the lead. He was a boxer, undefeated and grew up in the slums of Chicago. So as a tough guy, he was the real deal. I’m so glad you had the entire series. It is excellent in every way.
West Wing: The Complete Series Collection (Repackage/DVD) The West Wing ventured where no other TV series had gone before: an extraordinarily intimate look at an American President and the inner workings of the White House.
Here, are all episodes of the series that won 26 Emmys, including 4 for Outstanding Drama Series. Hail to chief – and to the creators and stars of this ground-breaking series.
This purchase was well worth the fair price that I paid for. I could never get enough of The West Wing. It seems like every couple of years I need to revisit 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue during the eight years of the Bartlett Administration.
The West Wing is simply the gift that just keeps on giving. Well worth the investment.
Great product, even better to binge watch! This show gives us insight into the complex innerworkings of how a presidential administration should put its people first and the challenges faced from both sides of the political aisle in the process.
The character dialog is savvy and intelligent, the wit is sharp. A far cry from how the current administration behaves. This is one of the truly GREAT TV series of all-time!.
If you like the West Wing you will love this set with all the “extras” i. e. outtakes and commentaries from the cast and crew. Our only disappointment was that the discs stop and hesitate every now and then.
At first we thought it might be the DVD, but after a thorough investigation and cleaning for the DVD player we ascertained that the skipping was from the DVD.
Between 1938 and 1952 famed A-list supporting player Tim Holt took the reins as leading player in more than 40 rip-snorting oaters, reigning as a king of the Western Bs. Get ready to slap leather alongside Holt as this wagon train sized collection brings 10 of them to you from the early years of Holt’s long ride.
Tim Holt plays his roles with a little ” tongue in cheek” and shows that he enjoys acting. Good scripts even if they are the “old good guys vs the bad guys”. Enjoyed many of his movies when I was a yongster.
Tim Holt made 20 pre-World War II westerns for RKO, before joining combat service in the U. S. Army Air Force. This ten movie collection features two features in which Holt co-starred,one with George O’Brien, RENEGADE RANGER-’39, and one with Harry Carey,THE LAW WEST OF TOMBSTONE-’38.
RENEGADE RANGER features Rita Hayworth, and was remade as COME ON DANGER-’42, which is also on this set. This is a fine looking group of westerns. The writing has some good twists in the standard plots.
And there’s plenty of shooting and horse chases. Ray Whitley provides the music and Emmett Lynn, Lee”Lasses”White, and Cliff”Ukelele Ike” Edwards handle the comedy. Edwards was the voice of Disney’s “Jiminy Cricket”.
Bad Guys: They are all here. Roy Barcroft, Harry Woods, Bud Geary, Ernie Adams, Tom London, Glenn Strange etc. Damsels: In addition to Hayworth, look for Marjorie Reynolds and Janet Waldo, who was part of the Ozzie and Harriet gang.
The movies on this set are not in release order. I guess they wanted to mix-up the side-kicks for the sake of variety. Tim Holt was an interesting actor and a no-nonsence cowboy star. He was right up there in the original box-office charts with Hoppy, Roy, and Gene.
I am looking forward to Volume 2 and the last ten movies Holt made before entering the service. Then it’s on to Volumes 3, 4, and 5, featuring the 29 post-war Tim Holt westerns with Richard Martin as Chito Raferty.
An awful lot of entertainment in these ten films — good, solid B-Westerns with excellent photography and beautiful horse action. The prints are generally excellent as well. They’re short, simple formula movies with predictable plots, but if you love B-Westerns, they don’t get much more enjoyable than this, largely because Holt is such an appealing actor and seems to be really into the horsebacking.
I’m looking forward to a second volume of Tim Holt Westerns — ten just wasn’t enough!.

In The Heir and The Crown, Princess Eadlyn becomes the first ever princess to hold a Selection of her own—but she doesn’t believe that any of her thirty-five suitors will capture her heart. This gorgeous box set includes all five books in this #1 New York Times bestselling series, which has sold millions of copies and captured the hearts of readers around the world.
My niece gave my daughter the first book in this series. My daughter became enthralled instantly. She has never read a whole book series and usually sticks to graphic novels. She will occasionally read a chapter book but not often.
She begged for this full series. I was delighted to oblige her. It was out of stock most places and she was visible shaken at the thought of there being a time lapse between her reading each book! I thought, wow, this is good.
I’ve been waiting for a series to really capture her attention like this and expand her reading away from graphic novels some. Not that I don’t like them but I wanted her to see how enjoyable bigger, wordier books can be.
I found the series here on Target ready to ship! We even got it a day early which was perfect because she had just finished the 1st book. That was a little over a week ago and she’s already on the 4th book.
She is so proud of herself and so in love with these books. I believe some themes may be a bit mature in these. I’ve only read about 30 pages of the companion novel to the selection set (1st three books).
It’s called happily ever after and sold separately. I think it is fine for my daughter as she’s read some books already with very mature themes. She is 11 and a half. Like anything else, you are the best judge of what’s appropriate for your child, there are plenty of excerpts online to read a few pages.
I had listened to the stories before on audio book, and it kept me wanting to hear more. They were very well written, exciting and romantic without all of the sex they seem to want to put into all of the books nowadays.
The story line was very compelling, and the different aspects were explained along the way very well. I liked it so much that I bought this set for my granddaughter who is a reader and in 1st year college now.
It was exciting enough to keep me going, and wondering about what was coming next when I had to stop listening for awhile, so I thought it might do the same for her. As I said it wasn’t full of sex like so many are, but the intrigue was enough to make it well worth the journey.
It had quite a few humorous spots as well. Very good. Highly recommend for an enjoyable reading night in, but if you have to put it down for work or other ‘life’ things, you are able to, until you can get back to it again.
How the West Was Won: The Complete Second Season (Dvd) Life in the Colorado wilderness tests the Macahans to the limit in the gripping second season of How the West Was Won – one of the most epic TV Westerns of all time.
The frontier adventure continues as hardened mountainman and patriarch Zeb (James Arness) gets caught in the middle of a war between the Sioux tribe and the U. s. Army, while eldest Macahan son (and still fugitive) Luke (Bruce Boxleitner) finds something more dangerous than the vengeful lawmen chasing him: a lethal gang of ex-Confederate gold robbers.
Aunt Molly Culhane (Emmy winner Fionnula Flanagan) joins the family, bringing Irish grit and an open heart to the Macahan children and homestead. Featuring military clashes, cattle drives, land grabs and gold fever, year two of the Macahan saga rides tall with excitement with epic stories as expansive as the open frontier.
This is a great western series. The acting is superb and the individual stories are very entertaining. I could not stop watching it because it is so very interesting and flows along at a fast pace. Of course, James Arness is great, as usual! He is a real hero!.
Good clean western series. Wish Series 3 was on DVD. Enjoyed Series 1 on Amazon Prime. Already finish watching this series 2 on DVD. Good for family viewing. James Arness is the major actor. He makes the series good.
For all western fans. To bad they don’t make western movies or series like this anymore.
I enjoyed “How the West was Won” DVD that I ordered. I had seen the original broadcast back in the late 70’s and the production and historical authintisity held up even today. Good Job. Would like to find the McCahans DVD’s that were shown the season after How the West was Won.
With the cancellation of Bonanza in December of 1972, Gunsmoke remained standing as the last of the “golden age” TV westerns as it entered its record-breaking eighteenth season on the air. Heading the cast just as they had way back when the show got under way in 1955 are James Arness as Marshal Matt Dillon, Amanda Blake as Kitty Russell, and Milburn Stone (back from a brief respite while recovering from a heart attack) as Doc Adams.
Also, Buck Taylor returns for his sixth season in the role of gunsmith Newly O’Brien, just as Ken Curtis is back for his ELEVENTH season as deputy Festus Haggen. If nothing else, Gunsmoke certainly afforded job security to actors! The season begins with one of the series’ rare two-parters, “The River”, a showcase for star James Arness as Matt is ambushed, left to drown in a raging river, and rescued by a brace of “raft” kids.
Figuring prominently in the proceedings are several reliable character actors, among them Jack Elam and Slim Pickens. Subsequent episodes would provide ample acting opportunity for such familiar players as Richard Kiley, Mariette Hartley, Victor French, Anne Francis, Vic Tayback, Harry Morgan, Alan Hale Jr.
, Diana Hyland, Margaret Hamilton, William Devane and a young, pre-stardom Harrison Ford and Richard Dreyfuss! By season’s end, it was clear as crystal that Gunsmoke had not yet worn out its welcome: The series closed out its eighteenth season as America’s fourth highest-rated TV series.
We have been following the “Gunsmoke” series for “umpteen” years, since its’ beginning. Good show for children, even young children, because there is never “blood and guts” scenes shown, or sex scenes, or nudity.

If your pc or laptop has an extra port and you game, you need to buy this! If you are building a new computer, you need to add this to your cart! If you are looking to upgrade your existing PCIe internal hard drive, you need to run to the store now! Technology has surely come around with hard drives.
This bad boy ties right into your PCs mother board allowing for higher speeds and a direct connection to not only you’re gaming but anything you want with the advantage of speed. Depending on your pc’s port if it is gen 3 or gen 4 will factor in this devices speed.
To get up to the high speeds of 5150mb/sec read and 4900mb/sec read speeds you will need to have a motherboard capable of gen 4. I did confirm that the SN770 is backwards compatible to gen 3 although it is a gen 4.
This was stated on the box. This SSD is catered to gaming however is great for other applications like graphic design and photography. I have adobe photoshop which I typically edit tons of photos. Using it along with this SSD was great as there was minimum loading times.
Photos usually take forever to download and transfer on any computer but having my laptop equipped with this device makes it a little bit more bearable as my download speeds increased and the time, I wait decreases! Installation took me about 15 minutes on my laptop.
I verified first that my laptop was equipped with a PCIe gen 4 x4 slot and to my surprise on my research I found that my laptop is equipped with two! One slot was already equipped (OEM) so I added this little guy in my 2nd PCIe slot.
Most laptops/desktops only have one PCIe slot for a SSD so i recommend checking what you have and what you need to do prior to purchasing. If you are swapping out your exiting PCIe SSD you might be taking your OS with you when taking it out and might need to make some transfers.
I recommend googling if you need to learn more about swapping your primary hard drive. For the value you get speed and a sizable amount of space (1TB but there are other higher options).
If you spend any time researching, you’ll see that the more recent batch of M2 drives can be a little hit or miss – especially from some of the less-know brands. I’m happy to say that the SN770 hits that perfect sweet spot between awesome performance, and affordable price.
Note that this drive does NOT include a heatsink, so whatever environment you’re planning to use it in make sure you have suitable protection (ventilation, heatsink , thermal pad etc). In my scenario this is the perfect portable extension for my M1 MacBook Air for either a quick transfer or large audio files, and alternatively as a backup before I head out on the road.
The spec of the drive states that it can read at a whopping 5150MB/s and read a 4900MB/s , but as always there is a caveat here. That is the theoretical maximum for the drive itself, and its highly likely your method of connection will be the bottleneck.
If you’re connecting this directly to an M2 slot on the motherboard, then assuming the controller is spec’d for M. 2 2280, you should be getting full-speed-ahead. However if you’re like me and you’re connecting it as an external drive (via ThunderBolt3) you mileage will vary greatly based on the enclosure / connection.
For example I tried this in an OWC Envoy express, and that maxed out at around 1500MB/s which is ok , but not great. I picked up an Orico M2 TB3 enclosure for about $5 more than the Envoy and it reads/writes at almost double the speed.
So if you’re looking for a cost effective storage expansion, look no further than the SN770 – your only question should be what size. I received this item at no charge as part of a technical evaluator program, but all the opinions/test/conclusions in this review are all mine.
I wanted to put this in a brand new gaming laptop but it turns out that there is only one slot and that is taken up with the main SSD. I briefly thought about flashing that stuff over to this SSD but I’m not sure that it would be worth the effort.
That being said, I did find a great use for this SSD and it is arguably a better use for it than the gaming PC. I do a lot of educational lessons that utilize a ton of multi-media. I create the lessons, materials, teacher instruction, and scan/digitize primary sources.
I then take those lessons and give them to teachers at conferences all around the nation. For a lot of lesson materials, a regular USB ‘thumb’ drive might be OK, but I have had problems in the past with having to run these presentations off of the thumb drive.
**Lesson to those who create pretty much anything and then present such items: Always run your material from your own computer or external drive. You would be surprised how many venues, schools, and businesses have a policy of claiming ownership or unlimited usage of anything that is loaded onto their computers or servers.
** I found a brand new external enclosure for NVMe drives that is getting rave reviews and easily installed and initialized the drive. After loading up ALL of my materials that I am currently using, I was able to get almost 3x the speed of my USB 3.
2 thumb drive! Now if I give presentations, I can use this drive and if there are any hangups, it will be on their side and not mine! When looking for a great PCIe drive that gives you awesome speed and value, you really can’t beat the Western Digital SN770.
I have waited a long time for this DVD, as it never was able for separate sale until now. It is good to see Jim and Arte together again , 10 years after the series ended. I remember seeing these on TV back during their original broadcast, I find that I have grown more fond of these movies with age.
They were not quite as serious as the series was, but they are still pretty good. The first movie (Revisited) is the better of the two, but both are fun. The video quality of the first movie is better than that of the second.
With the soundtrack music of the series just being released, this has been a good year for fans of the Wild Wild West.
I love The “Wild Wild West” series and have the full set of weekly TV shows. Now, I have two of the full-length films that were made. It was good to see Jim and Artemis again. These two films were made after the series went off the air, and I saw them years ago.
I am glad to have them in my collection. They bring back fond memories of two very good actors who had a great on-screen chemistry in their roles as James West and Artemis Gordon. I recommend both films to all fans of “The Wild Wild West”.
The Wild Wild West Revisited is a comedy, more lighthearted than the four year series was. But it is entertaining, there is a train and you get to see Jim and Artie again. Seeing them again was worth the price of admission.
I’ve not seen More Wild Wild West yet, may not watch it for a while. It’s a little too far to the comedy side for me.

, Edgar Buchanan, Hugh O’Brien, Buddy Ebsen, Ann Sheridan, Chuck Connors, and Jim Davis. Westerns were the most popular form of entertainment on television during the late 50s through the early 60s. People everywhere just could not get enough of these programs.
Now, with this assortment of 150 episodes, this “Ultimate TV Westerns” DVD set is sure to spark a whole lot of great memories for the long-time fan or bring much enjoyment to the first-time viewer.
Website page says this is “150 MOVIE Pack”. It is not. The product itself shows “150 EPISODE Pack” – which means 25-minute episodes of mid-1950s TV western series, and for the most part very poor video.
like they were filmed at midnight. I have numerous 1950 and 1960 TV western series and none have bad video like these. I’m returning.
Hold on to your 10-gallon hats for this sharp-shooting collection of Western TV shows that is as definitive as it gets. 600 episodes from more than 40 shows includes favorites like Wagon Train (1957), Bat Masterson (1958), The Roy Rogers Show (1951), The Lone Ranger (1949), The Rifleman (1951), Bonanza (1959), The Cisco Kid (1950) and some rare goodies like Brave Eagle (1955), Shotgun Slade (1956), Sheriff of Cochise and many more.
600 episodes on 48 DVDs. Color/265 hrs. , 28 min/NR/fullscreen.
This is the BEST of all the Western Collections. The box alone is iconic and the disks have little badges for labels. Almost every western you loved is in there. I’ve bought this collection four times for friends and family and they love it.
The set was perfect other than it had 3 discs in the set that had some TV shows that had defective recordings. There was no way I could watch all the shows in that set and try to get a replacement from the manufacturer thru Walmart with-in the 90 day Walmart return period.
But, I feel the set was a bargain anyway because the quality and quantity of TV shows in the remaining set was superb otherwise.
Loosely based on Custer’s life, the series follows then-Lieutenant Colonel George Armstrong Custer as he leads a team of misfit cavalrymen in post-Civil War America. His maverick ways are a source of consternation to his commanding officer, General Terry (Robert F.
Simon), yet Custer’s unyielding dedication to his beliefs ultimately earns him Terry’s respect. Including all seventeen episodes from the original series’ broadcast run in 1967, Custer also stars Slim Pickens, Peter Palmer, and Michael Dante as Crazy Horse.
For what it is, a period piece from 1960s Hollywood, it’s great entertainment. Its like watching Married with children. You don’t sit there and analyze the plot, the story. It’s fiction and it isn’t met to educate you.
If you’re watching to get an accurate portrayal of history, you’re either stupid or stupid. When I was a kid I knew better. It’s purely action entertainment. If you’re a Marxist, Leftist, whining democrat, perpetrator of keeping the victim industry alive and churning, you’ll hate it.
If you’re a normal, balanced human being that likes an action oriented program to simply loose yourself in, it’s a great entertainment value. Then again, I grew up in an age when you could speak your mind without being labeled a racist or a xenophobe.
Or get cancelled or finding yourself on a blackballed list somewhere. The Left is so understanding and tolerant.
I was born in the 90s, so I have no memory of this show growing up. Never sought in syndication. Just generally had no knowledge of it. I saw that it was complete for DVDs and relatively inexpensive.
I have a pension for 60s TV in particular. From lost in space to Gilligans island to the Addams family to my three sons. If you enjoy such things, this is probably for you. The picture quality is nothing amazing, but I have seen far worse on DVD.
Sound is decent, mixed for stereo. I had a heck of a lot of fun watching this series. I hope you do too. Also taught me the word malingerer.
Great series too bad its only 17 episodes. Prints are in very good shape. no doubt from lack of syndication. TV was changing at the end of the 60s and cutting down on violence. I think its mild by todays standards.
however Any real man will enjoy this series My only problem is with the dvd maker that tries to pass off a lib whine fest as a bonus special feature They made no effort to find anybody connected with the show for interviews nor any press material.
Pairing an impeccable ensemble cast with hilarious wit and popular tunes, WKRP In Cincinnati celebrated four amazing seasons, making it the quintessential situation comedy for any music lover! Join everyone’s favorite radio DJs-the rockin’ Dr.
Johnny Fever (Howard Hesseman) and the soulful Venus Flytrap (Tim Reid)-as they weave through the inner-office antics of the crazy WKRP staff; including the station’s program director Andy (Gary Sandy), indecisive manager Arthur (Gordon Jump), advertising executive Herb (Frank Bonner) and, of course, the station’s lovely receptionist, Jennifer (Loni Anderson).
So sit back and enjoy the sound of uproarious laughter as you watch all episodes of this iconic series!.
WKRP was a fantastic show. I wish it was still on TV. I’m glad I found this series that I can now watch whenever I want. It’s very hard to walk away from. The cast was fantastic and were all absolutely believable in their roles.
Shout did an awesome job with this series! Fox dropped the ball with omitting most if not all the music but Shout brought back all the music. It’s awesome! Of course this is possibly the funniest U. S.
The West Wing ventured where no other TV series had gone before: an extraordinarily intimate look at an American President and the inner workings of the White House. Experience all the crises, triumphs, lofty idealism and hard realities of the acclaimed series in this complete seven-season DVD set.
Here, on 45 discs, are all 154 episodes of the series that won 26 Emmys, including 4 for Outstanding Drama Series.
Episode 1 was about dealing with the Christain right wing nut jobs and protrayed Christains as angry Jew hating racists. Episode 2 was all about getting an assault weapons bill passed. Continued arguments about how guns are somehow responsable for all minorty death.
I had watched this before, years ago. I remembered it being a good show. I wondered why the price had dropped so much recently. Now I know. Save your money and go see Unplanned.
We’re glued to the TV, watching this show, and wishing there could have been more shows like this. Not only does it deal with serious issues facing our nation and the world, but has humor and pathos.
I find myself tearing up watching an episode which is poignant, and then tearing up with laughter. The writing is fabulous as is the acting. The writers don’t shy away from sensitive content. The characters lend a dignity as well as a very human quality to the show.
We are dreading the time when we reach watching the last episode. I fear we will always miss being a part of this audience. TV at it’s finest.
Long before the catchy (kitschy) American version of the “House of Cards” was created, there was quality DC drama coming into homes weekly, and I’m not talking about FOX”News”, CNBC, or even CNN. I’m talking about “The West Wing.
” In my opinion, it is the best television created in living memory. The characters are simultaneously perfect and flawed; in other words, they’re believable. The casting was spot on, the acting is excellent.
But the writing! The writing is what elevates this series into the untouchable, unbeatable category, for me. If you are a “House of Cards” fan, be forewarned. Once you experience “The West Wing,” there’s no going back to the make believe White House.

Cost a bit more but eliminates potential issues. Totally functions as expected with excellent presales support.
My CCL-built custom computer dual boots with Windows 10 and Linux Ubuntu MATE. Each operating system was on its own Fireacuda hybrid hard disk, and the computer ran quite quickly. I decided to try putting the Linux onto a Western Digital Black SN750 M.
2-2280 1TB to see if I could get even more speed. I’ll use the now spare Fireacuda hybrid hard disk for BBC iPlayer downloads. It was very easy to fit the SN750 onto the motherboard, though I needed to remove my video card to access the slot.
The SN750 just needs one mounting screw. (I found the required “stand-off” screw already on the motherboard. You don’t get one packaged with the SN750, so make sure that you have one. ) Once I had re-booted (into Windows), the computer recognised that the SN750 was present.
I then installed a second copy of Linux Ubuntu MATE onto the SN750. I was pleasantly surprised how quick and easy that was. It took only a few minutes to set up. I’m using Ubuntu’s encryption on ZFS.
When I tried to boot into Linux, the computer would not recognise the Linux copy on the SN750, only the copy on the hard disk. That was quickly rectified by adjusting the boot priorities in the UEFI (BIOS).
It then booted — and wow!. This simple upgrade has brought me into the modern world of computing. It’s much faster and quieter than before. Yes, I would recommend this for Linux. I have yet to try the SN750 with Windows but I’ll wait till Windows 11 comes along in the autumn; not that I really need Windows now.
Bought a 1tb version to replace my 250 gig nvme and certainly does what I expect. The software is a nice touch, making updating the firmware easy albeit the software isn’t much to look at and could use a GUI overhaul.
I opted for the heatsink, for the added cost I don’t mind the look. I can’t really say that the heatink helps all that much, previous nvme ran around 38-40 degrees c without a heatsink under load and with heatsink this one run 32-36.
This is mostly dependant on other factors though like position of it on motherboard and airflow of case etc. So keep that in mind. I have yet to have any issues and will certainly be investing in other WD Black products in the future.
If you buy this I think you’d be satisfied with the product.

Hardware Used: ASUS Prime B560-Plus motherboard i5-11500 CPU paired with Enermax ETS-T40fit (200W TDP) CPU Cooler WD SN 850 500GB gen 4 x4 M. 2 NVMe SSD Patriot Memory Viper Steel (2×8 GB) DDR4-3600MHz XMP memory 500 GB capacity drive is more than enough for me, only Samsung and Western Digital have something less than 1 TB.
Knowing that Samsungs 500GB and smaller capacity 980 Pro drives may have uncleared cache problems causing very slow speed after one month or so, I chose this WD SN 850 model with the hope of avoiding similar problem.
This is my first build of 11th generation Intel CPU and PCIe 4. 0 motherboard. Buying this SSD is just something that I WANT but not something that I NEED. When installing WIN 10 to the new PC, the first step is to copy files to the drive after product key verification.
I just could not believe my eyes that the Copying Files process was completed at the blink of my eyes. It was so fast, completed in one second (installed from 128 GB Samsung Fit flash drive, up to 300MB/s).
The same copying process for my previous builds took two minutes or so for PCIe 3. 0 motherboard with 2. 5 SATA3 SSD (installed from DVD drive) or fifteen minutes or so for PCIe 2. 0 motherboard with 7200 RPM mechanical HDD (from DVD drive).
Win 10 probably had the files to be copied read ahead into memory, otherwise even the flash drive with 300 MB/s still could not get it done in one second. That is how I can appreciate the speed of this drive, otherwise I just do not have daily tasks that demand such a high speed to make it noticeably faster than my other PCIe 3.
0 x4 M. 2 NVMe SSD PC. I ran different benchmark programs for this drive, only listing sequential reads here. Userbenchmark ~ 3,500 MB/s (at this point I thought I got a Gen 3 M. 2 NVMe drive) Samsung Magician ~ 6,358 MB/s AS SSD ~ 5,500 MB/s Crystal Disk Mark ~ 6,940 MB/s WDs Dashboard has nothing to test benchmark All programs (including BIOS and Win 10) indicated the model is WDS500G1X0E, not WD SN 850.
I will not complain here that the speed is not close to 7,000 MB/s spec, probably because 500 GB models use smaller cache than 1 TB or 2 TB models. There is always a discount in speed for smaller capacity models.
With this drive and the hardware configurations, I can compile a video of about ten and a half minutes in one and half minute, that is, in about 14. 8% of the video duration. My other PC with PCIe 3.
0 motherboard and gen 3 x4 M. 2 NVMe SSD compiling the same video took about 26% of the duration time to complete. Will buy more in the future for Linux and Win11 if the price can drop significantly.
I’ve had this drive for a while. It is amazing, only gets hot a bit and needs a bit cooling. Now i purchaed the second drive but i’ve realized that the model code on the new one was different “WDBAPY0010BNC” the first drive was “WDS100T1X0E” So i decided to make some search on internet, the products that was tested by some autohrities and reviewers on the internet had tested the “WDS100T1X0E” Also on WD product page for SN850 1TB w/out heatsink is said as the model: WDS100T1X0E.
SO now I have big doubts on this new drive? I don’t think that it is fake cuz this model is also sold by well known sellers, but what is it then? Is it a revised model which includes cheaper components that is produced special for Asia market?? Did WD do smt.
like the other companies infamous on such tricks? First produce the high performing model to be tested by everyone, then after 6 months sell the second version with the same brand name for a cheaper price? I saw some comments on the forums but i couldn’t find any concrete proof that is the exactly same drive.
Is there anything that Western Digital tell on it?.
I have been working on PCs for years, but this is the first time using an M. 2 VME. I did a lot of research online before choosing this one. I read the articles and watched the videos. Everything went without any problems.
I installed it into my M. 2 4. 0 slot and used the “Frozer” heat sink that came with my motherboard. I used the WD version of Acronis downloaded from their website. Cloned perfectly, changed to primary boot drive in MB BIOS, removed original SATA SSD, and powered up and it booted right up.
Downloaded and installed the dashboard software. Enabled game mode and bingo!, the speeds are as pictured. The highest temps I have seen during gaming so far are around 30`C (86`F). Just for comparison, my motherboard is an MSI B550 Tomahawk running an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X processor.
32Gb. Corsair 3200 RGB RAM and Windows 10. This drive is running in the M. 2 slot just above my GPU (pictured). I also updated my motherboard bios to the latest version. I hope other folks have as good a luck as I have had so far!.

I absolutely LOVE these books – I’m only up to the 3rd book, The One, but I’m so hooked and am really hanging out to finish the book so I know what happens! This book probably isn’t the usual style as I’m not a huge fan of this scenario, however it has had a heap of positive reviews so I got it anyway as I was intrigued, It’s been described as The Bachelor meets Hunger Games.
It’s probably more accurately The Bachelor meets Divergent from what I can tell so far – I know from reviews some people have been disappointed with the Hunger Games comparison. But it’s post-apocalyptic (WW3 and WW4 in this case) and has a caste system (like both Hunger Games and Divergent).
Now as I’m about 1/3 of the way into The One I can definitely see more of both HG and D coming through and can see why the comparison comes into it, although it’s still completely unique to this story.
I won’t say more about that as I don’t want to ruin it for anyone who hasn’t read the books but it’s unlike any book I’ve read before, and the plot twists just keep coming! I started the first book wondering how it is written over three books (I mean seriously, 1 guy picks 1 girl from 35), and now I can why – the books involves a lot more than just a “dating theme” if people read the entire series.
Plus I think I can relate a lot to America (a lot of complaints about the name too, but really its just a name and when she explains her name I LOVE it! Go America’s Mum!) It’s a series I’m struggling to put down as I need to know how everything turns out.
It’s definitely well thought out and doesn’t seem to drag like some books can. Sometimes the sentences are very full stoppy, but on the whole I find its written well (this was my worst worry as there was some negative reviews on how it was written, but I don’t think it was that bad) I’d definitely read it again!.
I love! Love! Love this series! I love how kiera cass captivated the readers, and made an amazing series of books on the adventures of America. I also loves how the series continues on to their daughter, and to see her reaction to the selection! 100% recommend, one of my favourites so far!.
I was hooked by Kiera Cass from the very first book in this boxset her writing is enchanting that you couldn’t put it down she sets the scene so perfectly that you are drawn into the magical world where fairytales are made.
True romance novels the way the characters are developed and grow through out the novels keeps you wanting more. I would definitely read more of Kiera Cass’s novels.
